You may have heard this playground rhyme before, but did you know that it was inspired by the true tale of the infamous murderess, Lizzie Borden? Lizzie, in a fit of fury, is said to have ruthlessly and mercilessly killed her parents with an axe. But how much of the playground rhyme – and the echoes through time surrounding Lizzie’s story – are true? Today I am telling you the true story of Lizzie Borden.
