John Roland Clifford Yorke is a television producer and script editor. Currently, he is Head of BBC Scriptworks and an announcer for the BBC. He teaches and consults on podcasting through his company John Yorke Story. He founded and leads the BBC Studios Writers’ Academy.Yorke was head of Channel 4 Drama from 2003–2005, then controller of BBC drama production from 2006–2012, and then MD of Company Pictures from 2013–2015.Yorke's first book, "Into the Woods: How Stories Work and Why We Tell Them," was published in 2014.
