And then chaos!

The old man fell on his back, and rolled on the floor, with his arms up trying to protect his face and head from the frenzied attacker. 

A whirlwind of vicious blows assaulted him as he rolled across the floor trying to find cover. 

Someone shouted, then there were screams.
