1:41

Lovely day because I'm joined

1:44

by Selly Queen, my former

1:46

teammate. Jokester, life

1:48

of the party, Lola Bonta. Lola,

1:50

how are we feeling today? I'm

1:53

great. Now that I get to

1:55

see you, my gosh. And

1:58

you got the memo to wear a

2:00

white today. Today's white sweater day in

2:02

case you didn't know. We came matching

2:04

unintentionally. But Lola. We

2:07

want to talk today about the big

2:09

five moments in a game and I

2:11

feel like this is something that When

2:13

we talk when we brought up this

2:15

topic I was like I've been told

2:17

this since I was I think seven

2:19

years old even before I understood what

2:21

it really meant So I want you

2:24

to explain to those that are listening

2:26

first what you know, like you're explaining

2:28

to your grandma what the big five

2:30

moments are in a match Well, if

2:32

I could explain to my grandma right

2:34

now that there would be women's professional

2:36

athletes. She would be so proud. But,

2:38

well, that's a whole other story. We'll

2:40

get into that later. But

2:43

no, it's obviously when you ask

2:45

like how I'm doing, I'm bitter

2:47

because the big five was not

2:49

just, didn't just happen

2:51

to me, you know, it happened

2:53

to a couple other teams this

2:55

past week with the games. But

2:58

basically, big five is the first

3:00

five of the game, first five

3:02

minutes of the game. last five

3:04

minutes of the game. You know,

3:06

someone scores. It's that next five

3:08

minutes as well. So what people

3:10

don't understand if you haven't played

3:12

the game is, yes, there's

3:14

tactics in soccer. Yes,

3:16

there's, you know, soccer IQ. But

3:19

the big five minutes

3:21

is all about mentality. I

3:24

think it's all about who wants it more.

3:27

You know, you can set up any which

3:29

way you can play in all week. for

3:32

a game and how the opponent is

3:34

going to play against you. But

3:36

in the start of the game, they

3:38

can line up a different way and

3:40

you don't know. So it's just whoever

3:42

is going to get to the ball

3:44

first, whoever wants it more, and then

3:46

you can just as the game goes.

3:48

But always tell fans, you've got to

3:51

be there during kickoff. And even if

3:53

your team is losing, do not leave

3:55

early because those big five minutes beginning

3:57

of the game, end of game are

3:59

huge. happened

4:01

to, I think, three teams

4:03

this weekend where the

4:05

results flipped immediately. Just

4:08

so listeners know, shout out to

4:10

Audrey Penelli because she sent us

4:12

these stats. So far, six

4:14

goals scored out of 114 have

4:16

come in the first five minutes of

4:18

the games, which means 5 .3%. 10

4:20

goals have come in the last

4:22

five minutes of the game so far

4:24

in the end of the season.

4:26

So those are big goals. changing moments.

4:29

And I know that tactically, we're going to

4:31

focus on the mental physical part of

4:33

what that means and what that requires. But

4:35

to me, tactically, I can just remember

4:37

going into games where coaches, especially on a

4:39

more of a transitional team where we

4:41

do high press, the first five

4:43

minutes from kickoff, you want to

4:45

suffocate the teams. And you brought up

4:47

Louisville and Portland, which was a

4:49

chaotic game on many fronts. Holy

4:52

shit. But That's a game

4:54

where you can set the tone for the rest

4:56

of the match. And I think both of

4:58

those teams came out in that same sort of,

5:00

we're just going to press, we're going to

5:02

hit you, you're going to feel it. And it

5:05

ended up being a really great chaotic game

5:07

in that. But I want to know what mentally

5:09

at the start in those first five come

5:11

to mind for you when you go into a

5:13

game. Yeah, I

5:15

think the first five, you know, you're

5:17

sitting there, you're planning all week

5:19

for this game. You're waiting for the.

5:21

rep to blow the whistle so

5:23

that you can just go it's like

5:25

you're holding a dog back right

5:27

and they're just trying to get that

5:29

tree and they're just ready and

5:32

then as fun as soon as that

5:34

whistle goes you're just going so

5:36

I think usually not even just the

5:38

first game of the year every

5:40

first five minutes of a game is

5:42

usually chaotic and that's just who's

5:44

coming with more energy who's coming with

5:46

more passion and to be honest

5:48

like I can give credit to North

5:50

Carolina because we were coming into

5:52

this game, you know top of the

5:54

table there at the bottom and

5:56

you could tell it was a home

5:58

game for them and it just

6:00

met more right off the bat. They

6:03

were coming for us and they

6:05

carried that on through the entire game

6:07

and they closed it out and

6:09

they got two goals in stoppage time

6:11

and so did Orlando and I

6:13

think one by Portland when they tied

6:15

it up at the end of

6:17

the game two in the Louisville Portland

6:19

game, but it's just It's just

6:21

who wants it more. It's a feeling

6:23

that you can't really explain unless

6:25

you're on the field. It's something also

6:27

you cannot teach. You cannot go

6:29

tell your players. They have to have

6:31

it in them. They have to

6:33

have the dog in them. We'll carry

6:36

on with that metaphor. The

6:38

rest of this. You have

6:40

to have it in you. You have to

6:42

want it more. And I'll give credit to

6:44

North Carolina at the end of the day.

6:46

They didn't just want that tie. They wanted

6:48

that win more. I

6:50

think, well, I mean, I

6:52

can say, because I'm not playing

6:55

anymore, North Carolina needed that. And I

6:57

think we saw that. There was

6:59

obviously a lot of questions going into

7:01

this, even when we previewed this

7:03

on the Thursday show, this matchup clearly

7:05

was in your guys' hands, just

7:07

looking statistically at it. But it was

7:09

that mentality that was just different,

7:11

where I think the adrenaline, especially in

7:14

the last five, obviously statistically is

7:16

what got them again because they scored,

7:18

but Can you talk about the

7:20

last five minutes? Because after this, you've

7:22

ran the entire game. You've had

7:25

a ton of adrenaline. You're

7:27

traveling. There's a lot of factors

7:29

that can go into this, heavy legs, whatever it

7:31

may be. What is it mentally

7:33

in the last five that gives a team

7:35

the edge for you? Yeah,

7:38

so I think our league,

7:40

when you look at the players

7:42

that are on the field,

7:44

everyone is physically fit. you know,

7:46

kudos to everyone's sports performance. They

7:49

get them fit. They get them

7:51

recovered to go do it again at

7:53

the end of the weekend. So

7:55

it is never, I think it is

7:57

never about if you're not fit

7:59

enough. It's all if you're mentally fit.

8:01

So you're most likely at the

8:03

end the game. If you're conceding, it's

8:05

because you're mentally not fully in

8:07

it. You're not stepping as quick. You're

8:09

maybe a little bit flat footed. Any

8:12

other day, you know, you can make

8:14

that run to go block a pass,

8:16

block a ball, make a tackle. It's

8:18

if your head is in it. And

8:21

I think, you know, North Carolina, again,

8:23

I can speak on, they were on

8:25

their front foot. They're winning every first

8:27

ball, second ball. Like people, if you're

8:29

not in the game, you go up

8:31

for the first header, that's

8:33

fine. But the most dangerous one

8:36

is the second ball. And I

8:38

think they capitalize definitely on their

8:40

last two goals. You know, it's.

8:42

It's bobbling in the box and

8:44

KK Kurtz gets on it and

8:46

just shoots like she finds the

8:48

tiniest window to get that ball

8:51

through their next goal into second

8:53

ball Ashley Sanchez gets to it

8:55

first hits it in and you're

8:57

just like how How is this

8:59

you think it's luck? It's not

9:01

they just wanted it more maybe

9:04

the shot making in that little

9:06

window was lucky, but you create

9:08

your own opportunities And that's what

9:10

they did. And so, you know,

9:12

everybody says like golf is a

9:14

mental game. Soccer is just as

9:17

mental. It's crazy to me.

9:19

And I think you, you learn

9:21

that more as you go. So

9:23

I was talking to my teammates

9:25

about game management, you know, we're

9:27

up a couple of goals. And

9:29

again, it's not about the team

9:31

wasn't trying, we're trying, we're running

9:33

out there. It's just being smart

9:35

and having that mental fitness is

9:37

what I think. And our league

9:39

gets teams over the lines and

9:41

gets them the results. Well,

9:43

we even saw that with Orlando

9:45

and Angel City. I mean, Angel City

9:47

came out swinging at Orlando. Everybody

9:49

had kind of written Angel City off.

9:51

I'll admit I did just because

9:54

they're at home. I did think Orlando

9:56

was going to lose twice. And

9:58

Angel City, to me, showed how young they

10:00

are. Because you look at the roster, they have

10:03

a lot of rookies. They have a lot

10:05

of players balling out. But the

10:07

management of the game went out the

10:09

window. And like you said, it's those

10:11

moments when you're not paying attention. It's, OK,

10:13

what does our rest defense look like on

10:15

throw -ins? Are we tracking

10:17

back? Are we getting goal side

10:19

on set pieces? Are we staying

10:21

with our marks on corners? It's

10:24

those mental moments that give

10:26

a team an edge. So

10:28

I love that. I think this was a

10:30

really good topic. Because to me, the audience

10:32

doesn't really I guess being from the fan

10:34

perspective, those big five moments, I don't think

10:37

you fully feel them unless you're an actual

10:39

player. But even watching the game low, you

10:41

can see that in other teams that clearly

10:43

that's something that they've worked on. Yeah,

10:46

absolutely. And to go back to

10:48

the Angel City Orlando game, you

10:50

know, you're up 2 -0 at

10:52

half. Is that then also a

10:55

tactical change? For me, the momentum

10:57

changed when Alana Kennedy, again, I

10:59

don't know how this woman. consistently

11:02

gets hit in the face this

11:04

many times. And it's like, yeah, you

11:06

can get hit, but she like

11:08

physically carries it carries it with her.

11:10

But no, we don't need to

11:13

talk about that. When she came off

11:15

the field, she was the veteran

11:17

on that field that I think would

11:19

have helped management manage the game.

11:21

As soon as she came off, you

11:23

can see the youth in that

11:25

group, you know, they were constantly going,

11:27

there was no tactical change. They

11:30

weren't sitting they were still continuing trying

11:32

to go and that's what Orlando

11:34

thrives on those little opportunities to counter

11:36

in those moments and for them

11:38

to come back you know credit to

11:40

them that just shows them they

11:42

still want it they're not okay with

11:45

that you know lifting the trophy

11:47

last year they came back they had

11:49

never done that in their program

11:51

history before so that's what I'm saying

11:53

fans do not leave your seats

11:55

till that final whistle because something is

11:57

always going to happen. Something

12:00

is always going to happen and

12:02

players are always going to make something

12:04

happen. We're going to talk about

13:56

up, YouTube? Darian Jenkins

13:58

here with the gorgeous Lowe

14:00

Labonta. We're going to get

14:02

into the rookie parade. I know, I'm coming on

14:04

Zingers today. The sun's out in New York,

14:06

so I'm just in a really good mood. Lowe,

14:08

you look great. I'm so glad we're doing

14:10

this together. All right, we're

14:12

going to talk the post draft era. The

14:14

rookie is now in the end of

14:16

USL. They've been balling out. I think every

14:18

week a rookie has made, has been

14:20

a staple in a game that's ultimately gotten

14:22

a team win. They've done something big

14:25

that's kept a team in the game. And

14:27

we're going to shout out some of them

14:29

and talk about what this looks like. posts no

14:31

drafts. So just for some context, eight

14:33

rookies have scored a goal and six rookies

14:36

have provided assists. Some of those have done

14:38

that in the same game. Riley

14:40

Tiernan is one of the rookies that leads with

14:42

three goals and one assist for Angel City. And

14:45

nine rookies have played at least some minutes

14:47

in every single game. And I don't think

14:49

we've had a year in the NWSL where

14:51

we've had rookies even have the space on

14:53

a team to make that much impact. So,

14:56

Lowe, do you think this is just

14:58

part of the post no draft era

15:00

where, you know, players have the advantage

15:02

of somewhat deciding what team they want

15:04

to go to. Can

15:07

you imagine in our day if we

15:09

got to choose where we wanted to go?

15:11

First off, I don't even, I don't

15:13

know what teams would have wanted me. I

15:16

went second to last, last in the

15:18

college draft. That's actually what I was going

15:20

to ask. Yeah. When did you go

15:22

in the draft? So

15:24

I, I was like up for

15:26

the, um, in college i was

15:28

up for the herman trophy i

15:30

was like a semi finalist i

15:32

was projected low was a baller

15:34

for stanford in college like going

15:36

before at ucla every below was

15:38

like circled on everybody's scouting reports

15:40

just for some context oh my

15:43

god tv t to those rivalry

15:45

days that was you guys were

15:47

our biggest rivals um but yeah

15:49

project projected top 10 and i'm

15:51

like sanders bro i went second

15:53

to last in the higher draft

15:55

not even first round second to

15:57

last in the entire draft. And

15:59

it's like, yeah, people were like,

16:01

where are you getting your humor

16:03

from? I'm like trauma. That

16:06

was a big part of it.

16:08

But to go to that when

16:10

it came to our CBA, and

16:12

they said, we're not doing a

16:14

college draft anymore. I was kind

16:16

of scared for these rookies and

16:18

these younger players, right? Because Those

16:20

were times where some people just got

16:22

a chance. You were called into market

16:24

with a team and you were giving

16:27

a chance to get a contract. Whereas

16:29

now, you know, you're negotiating already for

16:31

a contract before you even go into

16:33

market, meet the team. So I was

16:35

truly scared. But for some reason this

16:37

year, it's actually paid off. Like these

16:39

rookies are popping off and I'm actually

16:42

so Impressed you know we've talked about

16:44

the youth the young ones coming in

16:46

but these rookies coming in from college

16:48

as well are crushing it like there's

16:50

so there's so many in the league

16:52

and I feel like Years before you

16:54

know when we're talking about last year

16:57

who could be the potential rookie of

16:59

the year There was maybe a debate

17:01

between three players this year like I'm

17:03

gonna feel bad when we're talking about

17:05

some of them And I'm leaving some

17:07

of them out because I know we're

17:09

going to get off this and I'm

17:12

to go, oh, I should have brought

17:14

up this player, but there's so many

17:16

now, which is a good problem to

17:18

have. But I'm going to forget some

17:20

of them and it's unfortunate. So if

17:22

I forget you, I'm sorry. Well,

17:24

it's okay. We'll be back next Monday and

17:27

we can it's not personal We can give you

17:29

another shout out next Monday because you guys

17:31

are balling out. We know it's not the last

17:33

time We're gonna be having the conversation about

17:35

rookies But thinking about even when I was drafted

17:37

my situation was weird because I just broken

17:39

my leg and it I wasn't sure what was

17:41

going to happen if I was going to

17:43

be able to play again. And I, I ended

17:46

up going at number seven to North Carolina.

17:48

But to me, it gave myself, it put a

17:50

lot of like negative pressure on me in

17:52

the long run. I think I was happy to

17:54

be drafted, but I didn't know what that

17:56

meant. I look at the North Carolina roster in

17:58

2017. It's Lynn Williams now being

18:00

Dolo, Jess McDonald, Ashley Hatch got drafted

18:02

earlier in the draft, like. there wasn't

18:04

room for me to be there comfortably. And

18:07

I felt like it took me even

18:09

longer, even when I got back on

18:11

the field to get my mentality right

18:13

of what that even meant. Do you think

18:15

it's an advantage to not have a

18:17

draft number hanging over your head, whether it's,

18:19

hey, you went in the first round

18:21

or you went in the fourth round? Yeah,

18:25

I definitely that's such a good point

18:27

to bring up because, you

18:29

know, I'm when I got drafted, there

18:31

were five. people that were going to

18:33

sky blue with me that were all

18:36

drafted before me. At the end of

18:38

the day, that's your competition, right? There's

18:40

only ever so many roster spots open.

18:42

And so once you finally get that

18:44

contract, then you have to prove to

18:46

your other teammates that you're worth it.

18:48

You know, everyone is fighting for a

18:50

spot and you're so young and Pro

18:53

is so different from college because when

18:55

you go to college, you're with that

18:57

team no matter what for four years.

18:59

Those are your people. Whereas pro, you

19:01

could be gone next weekend. You could

19:03

be traded away. So you

19:05

could sign an international two days

19:07

after you get there and you're

19:09

like, well, yep. Yep.

19:11

That happened to me. I just happened

19:14

to be that. Sam Kerr was signed

19:16

and I was cut, so understandable. Damn. I'm

19:19

like, oh wow, wait, who's coming in for

19:21

me? They're like Sam Kerr and I'm like, I'll

19:24

pack my bags right now.

19:26

Like I'm out. I

19:28

get it, it's not personal. But there

19:30

is that pressure, so I'm just curious,

19:32

when you're signed without a trial period

19:34

now with the team, is that more

19:37

pressure, you know, because your team's like,

19:39

Where where this player come from like

19:41

I've worked so hard to get here

19:43

and now this person just signed So

19:45

easily and I I know at least

19:47

on our team we've created such a

19:49

good culture that no matter who comes

19:51

Yes, you're fighting in training for that

19:54

position. But once you're in the locker

19:56

room Everybody is I shouldn't say besties,

19:58

but we do all love each other.

20:00

It's like a sisterhood So I'm glad

20:02

we have that culture here, but I

20:04

can't speak the same for other teams

20:06

and other organizations Yeah,

20:08

I can't imagine even thinking back

20:10

on like my experience a lot

20:13

of the teams it took a

20:15

minute to fit in let alone.

20:17

When you're brought in and nobody

20:19

has a lot of context of

20:21

you because the draft did give

20:23

people a lot of context not

20:25

everybody has the. especially during season

20:27

the time to watch college soccer

20:29

closely and scout players and look

20:31

at you're too focused on yourself

20:33

during season. So that's a good

20:35

conversation. I think we should revisit,

20:37

but do you think it's a

20:39

big advantage? We talked about this

20:41

a little bit, but being able

20:44

to scout a team yourself and

20:46

decide, oh, that's a team that

20:48

won the position say like a

20:50

midfielder. They just traded away midfielders.

20:52

They need more depth here. Um,

20:54

this player just got injured and is going

20:56

to be out for a year. That is something

20:58

you have to look at. Do you think

21:00

that that's really advantageous now for the rookies coming

21:02

in and maybe why we're seeing so much

21:04

success? Yeah,

21:06

absolutely. And I don't know, you

21:08

know, with the, we have

21:10

more games in the year. We

21:13

have, we've expanded the league.

21:15

We have more teams. A

21:17

lot of people are getting

21:19

injured, you know, look at spirit,

21:21

for example. And

21:23

you don't want that to be

21:26

the reason why you get to

21:28

play is that there are so

21:30

many injuries. But you can also

21:32

capitalize on an opportunity. an

21:34

opportunity. It's an opportunity.

21:36

And that's if I'm a player,

21:38

I 100 % am looking at

21:40

that stuff. I want, I

21:42

don't know, I'm a competitor. I want to

21:44

be out on the field. Yeah, maybe your rookie

21:46

season is the year that you want to

21:48

learn and transition in this league. I

21:51

don't know. For me, I want to be out on

21:53

the field. Right. And even

21:55

thinking about style of play, like

21:57

when I went to the courage,

22:00

it was super transitional. And

22:02

looking back, I'm like, that fit me from

22:04

college. Like I was really fast. I would

22:06

go 1v1 and I would score. It didn't

22:08

require me to tactically build out. But in

22:10

hindsight, I'm like, I wish I would have

22:12

gone to a team that was really, really

22:14

tactical, that liked to build out, like how

22:16

you guys play under Vladco. There's all of

22:18

these like really dynamic passing patterns that you

22:20

can see that you guys work on and

22:22

train, especially with you and Claire Hutton, how

22:24

you guys pop off of each other, how

22:26

you switch the point of attack, the runs

22:28

that the forwards make off of you guys.

22:30

Like that's a team where if you're a

22:32

rookie, Kansas City is one of the top teams

22:34

you want to play at. Yeah,

22:37

for me, I remember saying last

22:39

year, I was like, this is

22:41

fun. The way we're playing this

22:43

is fun. Whereas when we made

22:45

the final in a 22. That

22:48

whole season, we were just trying to

22:50

capitalize on moments of transition. We're just

22:52

going, going in at the end of

22:54

the game. I was like, we would

22:56

win, but I'm like, I'm

22:58

dead. I didn't enjoy

23:00

that. So as a rookie,

23:02

I would definitely look at style of play

23:04

now. Like, what do you want to

23:06

be a part of? Do you want to

23:08

grow? What is it that

23:11

you want? And I'm actually just so

23:13

grateful that they get to choose because

23:15

we didn't get to choose. then and

23:17

so maybe just look at the style

23:19

and see like we uh I know

23:21

Piper Alex Piper is out she was

23:23

she was one of our rookies last

23:25

year tore her ACL but she trained

23:27

with us like growing up so that's

23:29

the other thing when you growing up

23:31

she's literally now 17 she's not even

23:33

an adult yet but she you know there

23:35

were years where she would come in

23:37

in the summer and get into sessions

23:39

with us so that's that's one thing

23:41

they get to do as well. And

23:43

that's an easy way for them to

23:45

see if they like the culture of the

23:47

team style. So I would say definitely

23:49

do that going into it. And I'm

23:51

assuming they all do. But again, I

23:53

don't know. I don't ask kids these

23:55

questions. Lowe's

23:58

hanging with the adults at

24:00

the dinner table. I feel you.

24:03

Lowe, which rookies though have just stood out,

24:05

whether you played against them or you've

24:07

just watched them play in matches, who's

24:09

like, really been an impact player for

24:12

you this year so far. So

24:14

going off of

24:16

the ACFC, Orlando game,

24:19

like Tiernan again getting another goal, like

24:21

it's defenders. You got to figure

24:23

out this player. Yes, she's a rookie.

24:25

You've seen some minutes on her

24:27

now. She is crushing it. You know

24:29

she's going to score. You know

24:31

she's going to shoot. So

24:33

a player that is definitely making

24:36

an impact for Angel City. And

24:38

then for me, honestly, Portland, we

24:40

played them in the beginning of

24:42

the year and then watching them

24:44

this last week, seeing them play

24:46

two games. Kaya Hanks, again, is

24:48

a player that just comes on

24:50

and brings so much energy and

24:52

skill. And when

24:54

she, they were down against us

24:56

and she came on and

24:58

she immediately lifted the game, was

25:00

dangerous on the ball. She

25:03

got a goal this. past week,

25:05

I think actually Portland in the

25:07

Tuesday game got three rookie goals.

25:10

If I'm not wrong, Perry stepped

25:12

up, Perry. She's

25:15

got a left foot. She

25:20

can send it so far,

25:22

but she's now stepped up for

25:24

two PKs in her last

25:26

two games. The other day, they

25:29

were just adding to all their goals. when

25:31

they crushed Gotham, but this last

25:33

weekend in Stoffage time, it was a

25:35

PK, it was 3 -2 Louisville. She

25:38

stepped up for the game and

25:40

got them the tie. Like, how do

25:42

you do that as a rookie? The

25:45

gall. The audacity.

25:47

The audacity. She grabbed it, stepped up,

25:49

the team was behind her, and

25:51

she put that ball in the back

25:54

and then again. And I actually just

25:56

thought of another one. She's

26:00

a baller. She's

26:02

one of mine, too. so

26:04

impressed with her. And she,

26:06

it's actually funny because her and

26:08

Ella Stevens look so similar on

26:10

the field with their hairstyles. It's

26:13

the slick back. Yes, there

26:15

are actually times in the first couple

26:17

of games, I'm like classic Ella and

26:19

I'm like, oh my God, wait, that's

26:21

not her. That's her twin. And she

26:23

is so impressive, has played. So many

26:25

minutes and that I think is such

26:27

a vital role on in a lineup.

26:30

Like, you know, you can throw your

26:32

rookies up top. They're going to work

26:34

magic. But when you put someone in

26:36

a defensive role, there is just so

26:38

much demand on you to help you

26:40

control the game. And I've been very

26:42

impressed with her as well. Another

26:45

one I want to shout out

26:47

is Maddie Dolling. I think she's looked

26:49

so good with Seattle. She looks

26:51

like a young Lynn. Beandolo to me

26:53

the way that she plays the

26:55

way that when she picks the ball

26:57

up It's like similar to Riley

26:59

Tierenin where this rookie's bold You got

27:01

nothing to lose because it's your

27:03

rookie year You're gonna go shoot wherever

27:05

you are on the field and

27:07

it's lethal it makes defenses have to

27:09

completely change their game and then

27:11

Defensively I have to give a shout

27:13

out to another Bruin Lily real

27:15

has been so Good for Gotham another

27:18

left back for Gotham another rookie

27:20

that just looks so good in the

27:22

attack She's strong defensively and that's

27:24

a tough team to fit in there

27:26

and really get a lot of

27:28

minutes and she's been super consistent And

27:30

I think too with her what

27:32

I've been most impressed about is when

27:34

she came on as a sub,

27:36

you know and Freeman this was a

27:38

few games ago Freeman got hurt

27:40

and she subbed on and she actually

27:42

scored an own goal So for

27:44

her to turn that around and be

27:46

so impressive now, like she didn't,

27:48

she didn't let that get her kudos

27:50

to her coach for continuing to

27:52

put her out there. But she has

27:54

been so good for them, so

27:56

vital. And I just love that she

27:59

was able to just brush that

28:01

off because a lot of the times

28:03

too in sports, we say you

28:05

have to have a short term memory.

28:07

You can't dwell on your losses

28:09

and you can't be too hyped on

28:11

your wins. And the fact that

28:13

she was able to just turn it

28:15

around. So. Kudos to our young

28:17

little vets. They're killing it.

28:19

I would love to be a

28:21

rookie coming into the end of

28:23

USL now. It's night and day

28:25

from you and my experience. Facilities.

28:34

We could go on and on about a

28:36

end -of -the -sale back in the day, but

28:39

we'll save that segment for another day

28:41

and maybe we'll have Jess McCall on and

28:43

some champagne to cheers ourselves for going

28:45

through it. drink in America.

28:47

Yeah, yeah, we need a little bevy

28:49

to round that out. But, Lowe, this

28:51

was such a fun show. I appreciate

28:53

you. I can't wait for next Monday.

28:55

Lowe and I will be back. And

28:57

I believe McCall's or Boney will be

28:59

with us. So that's going to be

29:01

even more chaos, more vets talking NWSL.

29:03

But don't forget, Attacking Third will be

29:05

back tomorrow at 11am with Lisa, Jen

29:07

and Santa Herrera in the comments. Just

29:09

giving us love, Lowe. Go check it

29:11

out. She's Sandra is the best. We

29:13

love you. But YouTube, thank you for

29:15

sticking with us. And don't forget tune

29:18

in tomorrow at 11 with the girls

29:20

to chat more NWSL and women's champions

29:22

like from low mark. I'm Darian. This

29:24

was attacking third.
