Hello, Caped Crusaders, and welcome to another

0:13

edition of Batman, the animated series podcast. I'm

0:15

your host, Alex Robson, and with me,

0:17

as always, is my co -host, but not

0:19

just my co -host, my brother, comic book

0:21

artist and writer, Will Robson, but the very

0:23

talented voice actor who's everywhere these days,

0:26

including the voice of Bishop on X -Men

0:28

97. It's Mr. Isaac Robertson -Smith. Say hello,

0:30

boys. Hello, boys.

0:32

Hello, boys. Suddenly,

0:35

it feels awkward to hear you

0:37

both say that. Yeah. We

0:40

got a terrible trio today for this

0:42

episode. So I thought inviting Isaac back

0:44

would be great to review it. But

0:46

as always, I thought not

0:49

only do we ask my brother about the

0:51

art life, we can ask Isaac here about

0:53

his own art life. So Isaac, why don't

0:55

you go first? How is the art life

0:57

going for you? The art life

0:59

is good. I am

1:01

doing a lot of different projects right now

1:03

that I'm excited to be part of, and

1:05

not the least of which is, you know,

1:07

continuing production is going on X -Men 97 Season

1:09

2, which is pretty cool, and that's about

1:11

all I can say here, but excited to

1:14

see what happens. It's coming out, I think,

1:16

next year is what people... have said. That's

1:18

sort of my understanding. So

1:20

I'm excited about that. I also

1:22

am involved in a show called Eyes

1:24

of Wakanda, which is coming out in

1:26

August, I think, which is centering around

1:28

not Black Panther himself, but like the

1:30

story of the nation of Wakanda, kind

1:32

of the lore of the whole place.

1:34

It's going to be great. I

1:36

can't say specifically what I'm doing in it, but

1:38

it's going to be really cool. And I'm excited

1:40

for the animation style. They had a brief

1:42

clip of the animation with the Marvel trailer they

1:44

had earlier this year. And it's like, a

1:47

combination of 2D animation and watercolors. It's so cool.

1:49

Ooh, lovely. Oh, that's sick. It's going to be

1:51

really sick, yeah. And it's just such a... It

1:53

feels like such a reverent show because Wakanda hasn't

1:55

really been explored yet in the way that it

1:57

is in this show, so I'm excited about that. And

2:00

then one recent thing, which

2:03

I was excited to see, completely opposite tone,

2:05

but I just did an episode of Grimsburg,

2:07

which is the Jon Hamm -led animated

2:09

show on Fox, which has

2:11

Jon Hamm and... Oh, shoot, who

2:13

else is in it? You?

2:16

Yeah, me. Can you imagine? I'm

2:18

not even in it. I'm just a big fan.

2:22

Yeah. No, it's great.

2:24

It's about this grizzled cop that believes he's

2:26

like, it's sort of like he believes

2:28

he's a noir cop in the 1940s, but

2:30

it's current time, so he's ridiculous the

2:32

way that he's handling everything. That sounds great.

2:34

Yeah, it's fun. So

2:37

I got to do a parody intro

2:39

of the show Knight Rider in that,

2:41

because I had Joel McHale play the

2:43

car from Knight Rider in that show. Oh,

2:45

that's cool. yeah that was fun

2:47

so it was a lot of

2:49

narration like this mitchell flute is you

2:51

know uh and uh yeah and

2:53

then there's a couple other things that

2:55

are i'm excited about but i

2:57

can't quite say yet but uh it's

2:59

coming down the pipeline um and uh

3:01

oh this is also kind of an interesting one

3:03

i did uh there's a video game um

3:05

called disney dreamlight valley that came out a little

3:07

bit ago but i got to do mushu

3:09

for that i've been doing that character Oh,

3:12

for Mulan, right? For Mulan, yeah. Yeah,

3:14

yeah, yeah. So that's really fun. I

3:16

know all about that. Yes. Yeah,

3:19

I know everything about

3:21

that game. Yeah,

3:23

so that's been cool. But yeah, just lots

3:25

of stuff. I'm also teaching. I've been doing

3:27

some teaching voiceover. There's a studio that my

3:30

friend Sonia founded a few years ago, and

3:32

she hired me to be their intro to

3:34

voiceover coach. Wow, that's so cool. So

3:36

this weekend I had... students for our, you

3:38

know, talking about the business of voiceover. And we

3:40

do intros to each of the major categories. So

3:42

commercial animation and video game. So that's been

3:45

fun. But yeah, that's kind of a summary

3:47

of everything that's going on right now. And

3:49

then conventions, of course. But, you know. Yeah.

3:52

I mean, that's that sounds like a

3:54

fucking great way to start 2025.

3:56

Yeah, it's been good. But yeah, it's

3:58

been it's been a good year from

4:00

what I've seen for you. So that's awesome.

4:02

Will, how's your art life going? Not

4:05

as good as Isaac's. I

4:09

am coming towards the tail end of

4:11

finally getting Mob Sumash to print, which

4:13

I'm looking forward to. It's

4:15

very scary. It's finally coming together. And then

4:17

hopefully I'm going to spend the rest of the

4:19

year drawing issues two and three and then

4:21

launching that towards the end of the year, along

4:23

with outbreaks in the middle of that. And

4:26

then I have a little

4:28

job with Forbidden Planet. Something

4:30

that I can't really talk about, but it's a cool

4:32

little advertisement with Forbidden Planet. If you don't know what

4:34

that is, it's the biggest chain of

4:36

comic book stores across the UK

4:39

and beyond, I guess. UK and

4:41

beyond! So

4:43

I'm doing that. Yeah,

4:45

just working on putting everything

4:47

together. It's very stressful, but I'm here.

4:49

And I've got... drinks on the go,

4:51

ready to do a podcast. Do you

4:54

have a white claw? Yeah, I got

4:56

a white claw, baby, and I got

4:58

a fresh beer and first drinks of

5:00

the day. It's

5:03

9 a .m. where Isaac is. Yeah, exactly. I'm

5:07

surprised you don't have a third drink for

5:09

this episode. That's true, the terrible trio. That's

5:11

right. I should get one. Everything in three,

5:13

yeah. Well,

5:16

speaking of the terrible trio, we all

5:18

ready to cast that character. Yeah.

5:20

Who will they

5:22

cast in

5:25

this part? This

5:28

is the segment where we come across a

5:30

new character or new characters in the

5:32

DCAU and we cast them in our live

5:34

-action fan -casted universe and making it in

5:36

the modern day. So if Warner Brothers was

5:38

like, make Batman the Animated Series right

5:40

now, who will be cast in these roles?

5:43

So today we come across three new

5:45

characters. The shark, the

5:47

vulture, the fox, or as

5:49

they're also known, Gunter Hardwick,

5:51

Armand Lidecker, and Warren Lawford.

5:53

So we'll start with the shark. Yeah.

5:56

Who had like that pencil thin

5:58

mustache that like

6:00

Howard Stark, Gary,

6:03

what's his name? Not

6:05

Gary. Gene.

6:12

Grace Kelly's a woman, isn't it?

6:14

Oh, I know. Gene

6:17

Kelly? Is it Gene Kelly? Probably.

6:21

Gene Hackman.

6:25

That's the beast. Okay,

6:27

the shark. Gunter

6:29

Hardwick. Isaac, you go

6:31

first. Who did you cast as

6:33

the shark? Okay, so it was

6:35

tricky because I was trying to

6:37

balance the animated style versus people

6:39

that would play these people in

6:42

real life, and that's always something

6:44

visually. So the person that I

6:46

chose, his name is Callum Turner,

6:48

and he's the brother in Fantastic

6:50

Beasts and Where to Find Them. Yeah,

6:55

he's the other guy that's... I'm

6:57

trying to remember exactly where he

6:59

is. Callum Turner, okay. He's in

7:01

Masters of the Air. Yeah,

7:05

okay. Yeah, I don't

7:08

know if I've seen him in anything. But

7:10

not that that matters for your casting

7:12

choice. No, Fantastic Beasts and Where

7:14

to Find Them is the most prominent place that

7:16

I've seen him. I just remembered him having this

7:18

cool edge about him. He's got this adventurous kind

7:20

of style, and I just think he could fit

7:23

in the trio pretty well to kind of balance

7:25

the other guys out when I was watching him,

7:27

yeah. Okay, well, who

7:29

did you cast as the shark? i'll go

7:31

at the end because i've casted a trio

7:33

of people that are specific so it'd be

7:35

weird to break them all up well then

7:37

all right how about we just keep on

7:39

going with our trio then isaac why we

7:41

do your full trio and then we'll do

7:44

mine and then we'll do will last um

7:46

okay the vulture next who did you cast

7:48

as the vulture The vultures, that's Armand? Armand

7:51

Lidecker, yeah. Yeah, yeah. So

7:53

Armand, I did an actor that

7:56

I recently saw that I thought would

7:58

be good. Paul Walter Hauser

8:00

is who I cast in that role. That

8:02

sounds familiar too. Yeah, that does sound familiar,

8:04

right? Yeah, I just saw him in a

8:06

movie called The Luckiest Man in America, where

8:08

he played this guy that cracked the code

8:10

on how to beat Press Your Luck. He

8:12

just was this really cool, different kind of

8:14

style actor that I hadn't seen before, but

8:16

I liked him a lot. Oh, he's... Will,

8:18

you know him. He's

8:21

in Cobra Kai. He's the older

8:23

guy in Cobra Kai, which is

8:25

not the most standout role, but

8:27

he was also in the Apple

8:29

TV show, the prison show. You

8:32

know who I'm talking about. Yeah, yeah, yeah. uh

8:37

if you think you're in danger

8:39

you are in danger that guy yes

8:41

yes that guy he's a tremendous

8:43

actor yeah he's awesome yeah yeah yeah

8:45

okay that's your vulture all right

8:47

yeah and then uh warren lawford the

8:49

fox finally and then warren i

8:51

had uh joseph quinn was my pick

8:53

for it who is uh joseph

8:55

quinn is the he's in stranger things

8:57

the most recent season he's the

8:59

one they find the rocker guy he's

9:01

also playing johnny johnny storm in

9:03

the new fantastic four first steps Really

9:07

cool guy and new guy, not new guy in the scene,

9:09

but like a guy that I was like, I think he

9:11

could do this role pretty well. I really like him a

9:13

lot. Okay, cool. Yeah. All

9:15

right. I dig it. Cool. I

9:17

have gone. 40 year old

9:19

men have you chosen? No, no.

9:22

They're all, they've all been

9:24

born in 1993, 1994, or

9:26

1992. Okay. I

9:29

have chosen a, you spoke

9:31

of Stranger Things, Isaac. I've

9:33

done all Stranger Things for

9:35

this because I've seen them.

9:37

They're like the older teenagers

9:39

in Stranger Things that I've

9:41

cast. So for the shark,

9:43

I've cast Joe Keery, who's

9:45

known as playing Gator Tillman

9:47

in Fargo. And he's also

9:49

Steve in Stranger Things. So

9:52

I thought he would be very

9:54

good. I cast Joseph Quinn as the

9:56

vulture. Nice. Because I

9:58

thought he would be very good

10:00

in that role. And then, oh no,

10:02

I haven't gone Stranger Things for

10:04

the final one. I threw in a

10:07

wild card there. I thought Cameron

10:09

Monaghan would play the Fox really well.

10:11

He's known for playing the Joker

10:13

in the Gotham TV show and also

10:15

Cal Kestis in the Star Wars

10:17

Jedi games. Oh, yeah, yeah. And he's

10:19

Ian Gallagher in Shameless as well. and

10:22

i thought because like uh the fox he

10:24

has red hair and i thought you know

10:27

ginger represent baby you know what i'm talking

10:29

about well i didn't cast a ginger guy

10:31

for my one Oh, really? So

10:33

I went that route. And yeah, I

10:35

thought they would blend together. I will say

10:37

that I think it's going to be

10:39

difficult for all of us to kind of

10:42

vote on who's the best unless Will's

10:44

about to knock it out of the park

10:46

here. So we will probably leave this

10:48

to the listeners to vote on the best

10:50

choices out of this. But yeah, those

10:52

are my choices. Stranger Things with a little

10:54

bit of Gotham sprinkled in there. Buddy,

10:57

who did you cast for the terrible trio? looked

11:01

like they were fresh out of

11:04

university like actually like people in their

11:06

20s like young guys um and

11:08

there's three young guys that i think

11:10

are super talented that are a

11:12

comedy group on saturday night live um

11:14

they're in a group called please

11:16

don't destroy they do these amazing skits

11:18

on saturday night live with all

11:21

of the guests and that's uh ben

11:23

marshall john higgins and martin turning

11:25

my glasses on oh

11:28

speaking of young um yeah and if

11:30

you look at these guys like you

11:32

can easily um the uh put them

11:34

in all the different roles they i

11:36

think they look exactly like the characters

11:38

they fit well and they can really

11:40

you know they're such a good group

11:42

i think that they would play you're

11:44

ben marshall Is he the fox? Is

11:46

that who you call? Well, actually, I

11:48

was going to do John Higgins as

11:50

a fox, but you could do Ben

11:52

Marshall as the fox as well because,

11:54

yeah, he is redheaded. But I just

11:56

think that they're a super talented group,

11:58

and I could see them being those

12:00

rich, stuck -up, bored college graduates quite

12:02

well. Yeah. No, those are

12:04

good choices as well. I will still

12:06

leave it to the listeners, but

12:08

I think, Will, you... one thing that

12:11

you have that's different than me

12:13

and Isaac is we've cast people that

12:15

were born like early nineties. Right.

12:17

And I think if they're going to

12:19

play, you're right. These are like,

12:21

they're just out of college, right? Like

12:23

they're 23 because Bruce is like

12:25

what in his early thirties, you know?

12:27

So like these, these are, these

12:29

are kids still. Yeah. So

12:31

I will say that that probably makes

12:33

a little more sense and then also

12:35

can make them a little more lethal because

12:37

they're so young and reckless like they

12:39

are. Yeah, they're all like 26, these

12:41

guys. Yeah, yeah. They have

12:43

less to lose. Yeah, ours are in like

12:46

their early 30s. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But

12:48

still, leave it up to the listeners. It'll

12:50

be good to see what people think.

12:52

So those are our choices for Terrible Trio

12:54

and look forward to seeing what people

12:56

vote on. And I recommend anybody watching

12:58

any Please Don't Destroy skit because they are one

13:00

of the best parts of Saturday Night Live. They're

13:02

so funny. I haven't seen it. got to check

13:04

it out. Oh, you should. Yeah, they're really good. Yeah,

13:08

I haven't seen it either, but I

13:10

will probably, especially now that you've got

13:12

a trio of people, I'll look at

13:14

them through that lens. Yes,

13:16

terrible trio. We ready to talk

13:18

about this episode? Yep. Let's do it. This

13:31

episode is titled The Terrible

13:33

Trio. It came out on

13:35

September 11th, 1995. Well,

13:37

that's pre -911, so...

13:39

Oh no, only six

13:41

years ago. Well,

13:43

at least it was not three buildings,

13:45

then it would have been really bad. Yeah.

13:48

Oh my god. it's

13:50

already started well we're

13:52

we're 30 seconds in

13:55

it's already here yeah

13:57

9 11 jokes yeah

13:59

that's the tone ladies

14:01

yeah it would be

14:03

9 11 times 100.

14:05

9 11 times 100

14:07

jesus that's yes 91

14:09

100. This

14:12

episode is directed by Frank Parr,

14:14

story by Alan Burnett and Michael

14:16

Reeves, written by Michael Reeves, and

14:18

animation by Jade. Featuring Kevin Conroy

14:20

as Batman, Lauren Lester as Robin,

14:22

Bill Moomy as the Fox. david

14:24

joelief as the vulture peter scolari

14:26

as the shark hector alizondo as

14:29

sheldon fallbrook christine haige as rebecca

14:31

fallbrook and laurie johnson as the

14:33

nurse and speaking of voice actors

14:35

we have the voice of bishop

14:37

in x -men 97 and many

14:39

other voices joining us today for

14:41

our terrible trio making it up

14:43

it's isaac robertson smith welcome to

14:46

the review thank

14:50

you i feel i feel so loved

14:53

thank you so much thanks for joining

14:55

us man yeah honorable mentions here then

14:57

for this episode Jade Animation animated this

14:59

episode and they previously produced the episodes

15:01

that we've reviewed, which were If You're

15:03

So Smart, Why Aren't You Rich and

15:05

Day of the Samurai. This is the

15:07

only episode that they have animated entirely

15:09

as they only provided ink and paints

15:11

in those previous episodes. So what did

15:13

we all think of the way this

15:15

episode looked since it was their first

15:17

time animating it? They look fantastic. It

15:19

was proper noir and the colors were

15:21

great. There was a sky at one

15:23

point where I think it was when

15:25

they were doing the clay shooting where

15:27

it was like this lovely fade of

15:29

purple to red and it was really

15:31

subtle in the background. So I thought

15:33

it was beautiful. Yeah. Yeah, I

15:35

really liked it. I thought there were some cool, there

15:37

were some cool like just frames that were there. Like

15:39

whenever I look at an animated show, I like to

15:41

see what can I put up as a painting later

15:43

on. And I know there was for sure. It seemed

15:46

like an homage to like Batman 89 where Batman's like

15:48

against the moon. And I just, you know, love that

15:50

kind of stuff where it's like just a single frame

15:52

of like just greatness. was like, yes, I want more

15:54

of that. That's awesome. Yeah. Screenshot. Let

15:56

me put that in the frame.

15:58

Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. I thought this episode

16:00

looked good as well. I really liked

16:02

the snow in the woods at

16:04

the end in particular. I thought that

16:06

was a really cool vibe. But yeah,

16:08

this episode, I thought they did pretty

16:10

well. Some of the animation was

16:12

a bit. janky like there was at

16:14

one point where someone's face kind of

16:16

stuck in a position even though their

16:19

head was moving but their like features

16:21

were staying there but you know

16:23

sometimes you don't notice that stuff uh

16:25

overall i thought it looked good yeah

16:27

that was one thing i noticed oh

16:29

sorry i was gonna say when

16:31

when uh when the the father is

16:33

in the the hospital toward the end

16:35

um i like to see that's just

16:37

straight up just painting in there like

16:40

i knew it wasn't gonna move

16:42

because it was just completely stationary yeah

16:44

i i agree uh that was so

16:46

funny when you just you saw that

16:48

like because it was just a

16:50

regularly animated episode and then suddenly it

16:52

was this beautiful matte painting and you're

16:54

like oh okay and it's just this

16:56

old dude's face yeah in bed i'm

16:58

like that's a weird thing to

17:00

decide to paint but okay go on

17:03

paint me get my good son just

17:05

falls asleep it's like oh you painted

17:07

me when i was asleep yeah

17:09

daddy Daddy, can

17:11

you hear me? Please go

17:13

away. Let me sleep for the love

17:15

of God. Director Frank Parr

17:17

has been credited previously in our review of

17:19

Be a Clown, as well as being a

17:21

previous guest of this podcast. Story developer

17:23

Alan Burnett has been credited previously in

17:25

our review of Two -Face Part One, as

17:28

well as also being a previous guest on

17:30

this podcast. And story developer and writer

17:32

Michael Reeves has been credited in our review

17:34

of Pretty Poison. Acting creds

17:36

here. All returning voice actors have

17:38

been credited previously on this podcast

17:40

in their first appearance on this

17:42

show, such as Lauren Lester in

17:44

Christmas with the Joker. As far

17:46

as new acting credits go for

17:48

this show, we've got quite a

17:51

few newbies. First one up here

17:53

is Laurie Johnson, who plays the

17:55

nurse very briefly. She will also

17:57

go on to play... a nurse

17:59

in batman beyond so she's obviously

18:01

typecast um and she's also other

18:03

dcau characters such as knife throwers

18:05

wife or mum in the new

18:07

batman adventures we got that what

18:09

a broad range of roles uh

18:11

she's also the chief's wife in

18:13

the negotiator the movie and uh

18:15

sister anne in everybody loves raymond

18:18

who was in like one episode Some

18:21

notable works there. Christine

18:23

Hage, who plays Rebecca, will

18:25

also play Tiffany Morgan in The

18:28

Zeta Project. She's also been

18:30

in many episodes of Law &

18:32

Order. Those were the standout

18:34

ones I could see on her

18:36

list. And then Hector Elizondo,

18:38

who plays Sheldon Fulbright, the dad.

18:40

Hector Elizondo! Why

18:43

did I know you were

18:45

going to do that? Hector

18:47

Elizondo. He also voices Bane.

18:49

in the new batman adventures so

18:52

that will be the voice

18:54

of bane in the next

18:56

series that we'll review as well

18:58

as cragger in justice league

19:00

good i want to finish

19:02

him slowly i want him

19:04

alive alive to run away

19:06

in arkham surrounded by the monsters

19:08

he's created poetic but no

19:11

Continuing here with Hector Elizondo, he

19:13

is also mostly known for playing

19:15

Barney Thomas in Pretty Woman, Jim

19:18

Gordon in the Lego Batman movie, and Joe

19:20

in The Princess Diaries 1 and 2. He's

19:22

like the driver. Oh, that's right. I was

19:24

trying to figure out where he was from,

19:26

but yes, now I can see him perfectly.

19:28

Yeah. the the guy that works for disney

19:30

obviously knows disney characters yeah yeah princess diaries

19:32

one and two he's probably got the poster

19:35

we can't see it behind him yeah no

19:37

yeah all of the versions too all the

19:39

international ones they're all here yeah got all

19:41

the all the versions on dvd yeah it's

19:43

great you can't see below my face for

19:45

a reason i have a background hiding it

19:47

you're wearing a screen use a screen used

19:49

dress you got on yeah exactly yeah yeah

19:51

no i have the skirt on right now

19:54

it's very uncomfortable in this seat yeah Next

19:57

up, we've got Peter Scolari, who plays

19:59

the shark, was credited previously on our

20:01

Moon of the Wolf review as he

20:03

played the security guard. But as a

20:06

reminder, he's known for playing Wayne Zielinski

20:08

in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids TV

20:10

show, Michael Harris in New Heart, Billy

20:12

the Lonely Boy in Polar Express, and

20:14

Commissioner Loeb in the TV show Gotham.

20:16

And he sadly passed away in 2021

20:18

at the age of 66, which is

20:20

very young. Rest in

20:22

peace. Yep. Then two

20:24

more here. David Jolief, who plays

20:26

Vulture, is also known for playing...

20:28

Jolief. Jolief. Jolief.

20:31

Jolief. Oh, man. Which role did

20:33

you play in Batman, the

20:35

animated series? Jolief. Well,

20:38

I will say his only role

20:40

besides... the animated series that i could

20:42

see he had like five credits

20:44

in imdb and the only other one

20:46

i knew was blithe hollowen who's

20:48

a town person in paranorman and that's

20:50

about it oh my god i

20:52

think my brain might be broken like

20:55

i just if it fits in

20:57

the box like my brain says you

20:59

have to say it yeah It's

21:03

great podcast content. People

21:06

listen, so I'm doing something right. It's

21:09

out there. People are hearing it. And

21:12

then Bill Moomy, who plays Moomy,

21:14

is M -U -M -Y. So I assume

21:16

it's Moomy, or maybe Bill Mummy, but

21:19

there's no double M. Moomy. Many

21:22

choices. I like that. Bill Mamai,

21:24

who plays Fox, is also known for

21:26

playing Lenier in Babylon 5. I

21:28

think it's pronounced Lenier. I don't watch

21:30

Babylon 5 because I'm not a

21:32

nerd. L

21:34

-E -N -N -I -E -R. And then also

21:36

Anthony Fremont in The Twilight Zone.

21:38

Those are his two credits that

21:40

I recognize. Now I

21:42

know. And knowing is half the battle. G

21:45

.I. Joe. All right. Utility Belt are fun

21:47

facts. Not loads here, but just a

21:49

couple. Production -wise, this is the first time.

21:51

we've seen the new intro with the title

21:53

the adventures of batman and robin including

21:55

the new song however in the original run

21:57

it was introduced in the episode house

21:59

and garden which we just watched but then

22:01

it was changed for subsequent dvd and

22:03

streaming releases so i don't know why they

22:05

did but um i enjoyed that intro

22:07

it was nice to watch we've been watching

22:09

the same intro for years now so

22:12

it was nice to be like but it's

22:14

such a good intro though the other

22:16

one's just fine you know but the other

22:18

the other one is iconic the like

22:20

oh yeah It was nice. It

22:22

was nice to have a change. I'm so bored

22:24

of watching the same intro. Finally

22:28

switching up. That's

22:30

how we get White Lotus Season 3

22:32

intro. What, because they changed

22:34

it? Yeah. Where's my... I

22:36

will say, though, I do like

22:38

the theme. It's not as good

22:41

as the Batman theme, but the

22:43

new Batman and Robin theme... it

22:45

is a good thing that's cool

22:47

i like the way it ends

22:49

with the dan dan and it

22:51

just like stops really quickly it's

22:53

fun next fact the terrible trio

22:55

first appeared in 1958 in detective

22:57

comics 253 they're old and were

22:59

originally and they were originally inventors

23:01

who turned to crime to fund

23:03

their work which is a little

23:05

kind of the same but a

23:07

little twist for this one yeah

23:09

that's right chuck chuck a dart

23:11

at any spider -man villain and that's

23:13

the same thing right yeah that's

23:15

true yeah that's a good point

23:17

uh there there is a story

23:20

there is a second group of

23:22

the terrible trio who appear years

23:24

later in the comics and they're

23:26

a group of thugs who take

23:28

on the identities of batman's old

23:30

foes so the fox the vulture

23:32

and the shark batman soon realizes

23:34

that one of the members is

23:36

actually lucius fox's son timothy which

23:38

is kind of cool that sounds

23:40

juicy Yeah. He and two

23:42

other friends co -opt the identities of the

23:44

original trio and attempt to rob guests

23:46

of Bruce Wayne's penthouse before Batman defeats

23:48

them. And of course, Timothy Fox took

23:50

on the Fox persona of the group.

23:52

Very, very fun. I was going to

23:54

say it was either Fox. Okay. That's

23:56

great. Reminds me of Spider -Man enemy

23:59

series with Robbie Robertson's kids joining up

24:01

with that gang and being like, you

24:03

know, similar vibes to that. that's true

24:05

yeah that's a good point wow that

24:07

was a deep cut reference you just

24:09

pulled out there not my second drink

24:11

now i'm waking up yeah uh but

24:13

yeah it sounds really cool i would

24:15

i would have read that book that

24:17

sounds fun uh next up this episode

24:19

features animated wavy text in the title

24:21

card and effect we haven't seen in

24:23

any title cards up to this point

24:25

usually they're just static images but you've

24:27

got the wavy text like you can

24:29

see behind isaac's heads right now it's

24:32

all wavy It

24:34

makes it feel like an older

24:36

horror movie kind of thing. I really

24:38

like that. It did, yeah. I

24:40

mean, Alan Burnett's behind this, and you

24:43

can feel the Hitchcock being injected

24:45

into it, can't you? I'm a huge

24:47

Rope fan, as I've said, and

24:49

the Bored Rich Kids committing a crime

24:51

is that film, so it's very

24:53

apparent as being in this one. And

24:55

I think the switch to it

24:57

being Bored Rich Kids turning to crime

24:59

is a lot better than Inventors.

25:01

i agree yeah it makes more sense

25:03

in gotham as well for like

25:05

that type of situation to happen uh

25:07

a couple more bruce tim considers

25:09

this to be one of the worst

25:11

episodes if not the worst episode

25:13

of the dcau which i was gonna

25:16

i'll ask i mean you just

25:18

said will isaac what did you think

25:20

of this episode as far as

25:22

like how it was and don't worry

25:24

disney's not listening No, I know.

25:26

Yeah, it's okay. WB. not even

25:28

a Disney thing. It's WB. Yeah. I

25:30

really, I did enjoy it. I know why it's

25:32

called, I know why they would say it's the

25:34

worst. I guess it doesn't have, you know, maybe

25:36

the most. not the most action film or anything

25:38

yeah exactly joker like they got but i kind

25:41

of like when they do the side like the

25:43

explorations of the rest of gotham that aren't like

25:45

the mains that everybody knows that everybody gets excited

25:47

by i don't know i think i think it's

25:49

cool when you get into other people like it's

25:51

more of a people's story rather than a and

25:53

uh like a creature or mask or you know

25:55

i mean they have masks obviously but like i

25:57

don't know it doesn't feel like uh traditional

26:00

villains kind of thing, which is why I

26:02

liked it. It was more, more kind of off

26:04

the beaten path kind of Batman story, which

26:06

I enjoy. Yeah. My wife watched this episode with

26:08

me and she was like, Oh, that was

26:10

good. I was like, you know, that's known as

26:12

one of the worst episodes. She was like,

26:14

it was like a little flavor of succession with

26:16

Batman. I dig it. I was like, yeah,

26:18

I agree. Yeah. That's yeah. a good way to

26:20

put it. Yeah. Yeah. You must recognize that

26:22

you are a superior animal, Bruce, a member of

26:24

the elite. I

26:28

also like this episode. I don't know

26:30

why it gets a bad rap. Maybe

26:32

because it's got terrible in the title,

26:34

so you immediately think it's going to

26:36

be terrible. You're already there, yeah. I

26:38

honestly think it's just because there's no

26:40

supervillain in it, you know? Yeah, if

26:42

this came out, right, in the early

26:44

release of this show, if this was

26:46

like episode four or five, I think

26:48

it would have been received better because

26:50

you don't have this like... of

26:53

episodes with like poison ivy joker two

26:55

-face clayface like all of these super

26:57

villains to kind of compare it to

26:59

i think when you come to this

27:01

point it's 1995 you're like i know

27:03

what batman the animated series is about

27:05

and now you're watching an episode with

27:07

three rich kids who are like stealing

27:09

from people in gotham i guess you'd

27:11

be like oh that was that was

27:13

not good but yeah earlier on

27:15

it would have been like oh okay

27:17

this is a flavor that you know

27:19

i'm not used to seeing in batman

27:21

and it's this what this show is

27:23

going to try and do i think

27:25

it would have been better radio yeah

27:27

i like this i like batman in

27:29

my basement i like the the little

27:31

kids in the sewers people are dumb

27:33

that's all i gotta say yeah yeah

27:35

yeah i mean that we've all we've

27:37

liked most of those episodes uh okay

27:39

so i think this um also is

27:42

great that it is like a stereotypical

27:44

rich kids as you said they're like

27:46

rich frat boys the the type of

27:48

characters you'd see like being made fun

27:50

of in like goodwill hunting where he's

27:52

like how do you like them apples

27:54

like that that has that vibe um

27:56

also like ivy league school kids like

27:58

yeah exactly but they have like an

28:00

added shakespearean way of talking which i

28:02

thought was weird because they're like extremely

28:04

educated it's and like the fact that

28:06

all three of them are not self

28:08

like made at all like it's all

28:10

inherited stuff yeah it's like

28:12

they're just perfect characters to be made

28:14

as villains like everyone we could all

28:16

get behind putting a middle finger up

28:18

to those three guys you know there's

28:20

not someone like well in their defense

28:22

you know they were born yeah it's

28:24

like shut up they could be a

28:27

good person you know i immediately hated

28:29

them like it just there was no

28:31

no no break at all yeah i

28:33

also thought like it's there's such a

28:35

great juxtaposition to bruce wayne who is

28:37

could easily have become that but obviously

28:39

yes even as bruce wayne like it's

28:41

like no i choose like to help

28:43

people yeah and also the think it's

28:45

really awesome when he grabs the car

28:47

with the crane and like flies up

28:49

and he's like this is what real

28:51

money looks like motherfuckers you know yeah

28:53

like to those guys like he showed

28:55

them like oh cool grenades in the

28:57

back of your trunk whoa scary i

29:00

raise you a tie fighter yeah

29:14

i loved all of that i also

29:16

think they would be great in a batman

29:19

movie as like cameo characters not main

29:21

villains but like if there's a bank robbery

29:23

like in the dark knight you know

29:25

can you imagine if just like some of

29:27

them just had those masks on you

29:29

don't have any explanation like they just work

29:31

in the in the world of batman

29:33

yeah of action they would be easy to

29:35

do I'm pretty sure my parents know

29:37

I'm a furry, but they haven't really said

29:40

anything. They just said, quote, he just

29:42

really likes foxes. So music of this episode,

29:44

I didn't think it's a terrible theme,

29:46

but I preferred the score when they were

29:48

rubbing Rebecca's. I actually wrote that down,

29:50

but didn't realize I wrote terrible as a

29:52

pun. I just wrote it's not a

29:54

terrible theme. I'm going to

29:56

start to count from now on. Just how many of

29:58

these? Terrible joke.

30:00

Yeah. Okay,

30:04

we got one. Am I allowed

30:06

three? Yeah, or multiples of three,

30:08

whatever. But

30:10

yeah, I thought that the music

30:12

was okay. It had a bit of

30:14

a march to it at points,

30:16

which I kind of like. I like

30:18

a march. But the terrible trio

30:21

guessing Henry's security guard's hourly wage was

30:23

fun as a way to start

30:25

this episode, like $9 to $10 an

30:27

hour, and he was quickly doing

30:29

the math of like $21 ,000 a

30:31

year. And that's before taxes, which I

30:33

guess he didn't even consider because

30:35

he probably doesn't pay tax because he's

30:37

a rich white guy. So that

30:39

doesn't exist. He'll probably be president next,

30:41

you know? Yeah. That

30:44

is the trajectory. It seems to be what happens.

30:48

Let's see. That'd be 21 ,000 a

30:50

year. Can that be right? And we

30:52

see a new gadget in Robin's

30:54

utility belt. Did we all see the

30:56

R -shaped batarang that he threw out?

30:58

I definitely saw that. Yeah. I'm

31:01

like, oh, I want that. I want

31:03

a replica of that for my

31:05

collection. That's really cool. Or just different

31:07

letters in general. Yeah, you just

31:09

have like an eye. Yeah. I

31:13

mean. How did that

31:15

conversation start in the Batcave? How did

31:17

Robin broach that subject with Batman where

31:20

he's like, you know how we have

31:22

batarangs? I kind of want a Robin

31:24

ring. The shape

31:26

of Robin is not

31:28

aerodynamic. What

31:31

about an R, Batman? Can we do an R? Is

31:34

it your birthday soon or something? Alfred's

31:38

like, me too, I want one. I

31:40

want an A. a good shape, like

31:42

an arrowhead. I want arrows with A.

31:45

That's nice. I

31:49

was going to say, Isaac, do you have an Alfred? I

31:52

want to hear it. Well,

31:54

you know, I have the classic Alfred, something

31:56

like this. Batman, would you like,

31:58

no, going to stop now. This is terrible. No, I

32:00

like it. It's going to be my A. A

32:02

for effort, Batman. Yes, that looks

32:05

good. A for effort. That's

32:07

great. I would love to

32:09

that. Make it out of adamantium. Awesome

32:11

adamantium A for effort. That's

32:13

not our universe, sir, but that's all right. Who

32:17

are you talking back to me?

32:19

I think your reflection. Oh,

32:21

really? Yes. I never looked

32:23

so good. Why,

32:26

thank you. Yes, you're welcome.

32:28

A wink. It's

32:31

just a blink because they're both winking at the same

32:33

time. It's

32:37

also what Alfred does when Batman's gone. He

32:39

just stares in the mirror and says, you

32:42

look very nice, Alfred. Yes, you look very

32:44

nice as well, Alfred. Thank you. Well, I

32:46

try. I do try. A cup of tea,

32:48

Alfred? Yes, a cup of tea, please. Two

32:50

sugars. Thank you. Very

32:52

nice A you have there. Your

32:57

Alfred sounds like Ian

32:59

McKellen, but younger. It

33:01

does sound like a young Ian McKellen, yeah. Oh,

33:04

God, that's so good. Also,

33:06

I guess because you mentioned

33:08

adamantium, it's because you work

33:10

for Disney, so you're contractually

33:12

obligated whenever doing anything. I

33:14

must mention at least one

33:16

Disney property per episode. We

33:20

like Disney, don't we? We

33:22

like it, yes, Alfred, we do. Yes, we

33:24

do. I like the Princess Diaries

33:26

1 and 2. 2's

33:28

underrated, I say. Yes. 2?

33:33

Also, the voice of the penguin

33:35

is in Princess Diaries 2. That's

33:38

such a fun fact, yeah? Just

33:40

throwing that in there. Yeah, he's

33:42

like at the wedding in the

33:44

bride's side, I think. Anyway.

33:47

never seen any of them. It's because I know everything about

33:49

this show, and I was like, oh. I saw it

33:51

the other day and he just popped up and I was

33:53

like, that's the penguin. And my girlfriend's like, I don't

33:55

care. Shut

33:58

down immediately. Shut

34:00

up, Princess Diaries is on.

34:04

This is my favorite part. Number

34:06

two. My favorite part as well. Yes,

34:09

it is. Are you waiting or scared again,

34:11

Alfred? Oh, of course I am, Alfred. Very

34:14

good, Alfred. He has to say his

34:16

name with every exchange. That's right, Alfred. Thank

34:18

you, Alfred. Dick's at home

34:20

with his arm broken. He's hearing this

34:22

and he's like, what the fuck? I

34:24

need medicine. He's

34:27

just alone with Alfred in the car

34:29

going home somewhere. I just suffer through

34:31

this again. Every time Batman isn't around.

34:34

He's like, we

34:36

need to check on Alfred. Is

34:39

he okay? I don't think so. He

34:42

is talking to himself. Robin,

34:44

I gave you an R -shaped batarang. What more

34:46

do you want from me? You

34:48

wanted to call it a Robin rang,

34:50

which is dumb. Which is lame. Yeah.

34:57

Robin Rang's cool, I think. Walking

35:00

out of that would think it's cool. I

35:04

also wondered how the newspaper got such clear

35:06

headshots to the terrible trio when Dick is reading

35:08

out the headlines to Bruce. They're like mugshots.

35:10

I was like, where'd they get those? They've

35:13

just arrived and got there. Well, maybe

35:15

they're so smug they sent pictures of themselves

35:17

into the press or something like that.

35:19

i guess yeah that's good they would do

35:21

that too they would try it yeah

35:23

they just throw themselves around at any chance

35:25

they get you know like i think

35:27

that makes sense yeah can't let some common

35:29

criminal take credit for our glorious crimes

35:31

yeah yeah and we need our good sides

35:34

shown and every possible yeah and let's

35:36

wear our rings that give

35:38

away exactly who we are. Did

35:40

you get a close -up of our jewelry? That's

35:42

right. You

35:44

may have an R for a banner,

35:46

but I've got my name and printed

35:48

on my ring. That's right. It attaches

35:51

our social security numbers and our home

35:53

addresses right into us. Favorite

35:55

animals? Yeah. If you enhance

35:57

the photo just enough, you can get close

35:59

to the detail. That's right. My phone number

36:01

is clear. Freeze

36:03

it right there. Enhance.

36:08

Enhance. Enhance.

36:12

Just print the damn thing! It's

36:14

also funny how Bruce instantly suspects

36:16

these rich kids, like, but based

36:18

on their arrogance. Because they're not

36:21

fucking around, the Terrible Trio. Like,

36:23

at the start, they're firing guns.

36:25

They're blowing up, like, docks. I

36:27

was like, these guys are, like, they're

36:30

about to kill a lot of

36:32

people if they're not going to be

36:34

stopped. But I do like how

36:36

then Bruce goes... does the skeet shooting,

36:38

which is an uncomfortable scene, by

36:40

the way. The way he's

36:42

like, oh, they're total

36:44

classists. The servants, the way

36:46

they say the servants,

36:48

I was like, ugh. It's

36:51

what they're made to make

36:53

you hate them. I know,

36:55

but in a cartoon, you're

36:57

just like, yeah, okay. I

37:00

was surprised by that. That was just so antiquated how

37:02

they talked about it. I was like, wow, this is,

37:04

yeah, I was uncomfortable too. Yeah, because they were right

37:06

there. guess I was the only one comfortable with it.

37:09

I was fine. Will,

37:12

you're like, okay, cut that, cut that. In

37:15

fact, I agree with most of the things they

37:17

said. Very

37:19

good point, Alfred. I

37:21

agree, Alfred. I

37:26

did like also how Bruce had them

37:28

all fooled that he's just like some boring

37:30

rich guy. You know, like that's obviously

37:32

his ploy. So I liked that. And I

37:35

also liked how the Fox played this

37:37

whole plot where he's like, pay the girlfriend

37:39

and then I'm going to rob the

37:41

dad. Even though it's five grand, it means

37:43

nothing to him. It's the principle of

37:45

it. And it's like, that's the game for

37:47

him. I thought that was a cool

37:49

way to set it up. Well, old man,

37:52

I'd say that fluttering sound you hear

37:54

is your check sprouting wings and flying away.

37:56

Actually, I thought that Daddy might be

37:58

willing to reimburse me. I

38:00

thought the Batmobile chase sequence was

38:03

cool, especially when there were other cars

38:05

in Gotham. That's the first time

38:07

I've seen a chase sequence in this

38:09

show where there are other people

38:11

on the street besides Batman and whoever

38:13

he's chasing. That always made

38:15

me laugh. That made me laugh,

38:17

especially in this episode, how there's almost never

38:19

anybody out there when things are going on.

38:22

Where is the rest of the life of

38:24

Gotham? Are they just all asleep at that

38:26

point? a big

38:28

game on. Yeah, right. They're

38:31

watching X -Men 97. an away game, so they

38:33

don't travel. Unlike Will, they're

38:35

watching X -Men 97. Yeah, I'm on

38:37

the street like, whoa, there's grenades everywhere.

38:39

Yeah. You're the

38:41

one guy. You're the guy that's seeing the action. And

38:56

you mentioned the grenade shoot, Will, but

38:58

I thought that was fun to have that

39:00

as a little thing that they could

39:02

throw at a Batman. And Batman's face was

39:04

so funny. Holy shit, grenade! They're

39:07

a terrible trio. They're not fucking

39:09

around. They've got some artillery. They truly

39:11

are terrible. And

39:13

Batman tries to reel them in,

39:15

which I thought was fun, but he

39:17

pulls the handbrake. And suddenly the

39:19

car starts reversing. And I'm like, that's

39:21

not how cars work. You

39:24

pull a handbrake. The car's not going

39:26

anywhere. But I thought it was very

39:28

Batman 89, like the scene at the

39:30

end during the parade with all the

39:32

money being thrown. Exactly. Yeah,

39:34

I was just to say that. It's totally

39:37

Batman 89. Yeah. I want Prince playing

39:39

during that. I know. I was waiting for

39:41

that. Too expensive. Too expensive. You

39:43

know what? It's been a while since I rewatched that. I

39:45

might have to do that tonight. Oh,

39:47

tonight. All right. When we

39:49

talk about it in holes next week,

39:51

I'll expect to hear a full detailed

39:53

review, which will first I have to

39:56

see if my wife's up for watching

39:58

Batman 8 -9, which she's not going to

40:00

be, but... Maybe not tonight. Quick,

40:03

dump the money. What?

40:06

Dump the money. Now.

40:08

Trust. Hi,

40:11

free money. Also, I think

40:13

Batman... thinking that the terrible

40:15

trio is worse than the

40:17

joker he needs to rethink

40:20

his priorities he goes these

40:22

guys are worse than the

40:24

joker at least joker's got

40:26

madness as an excuse yeah

40:28

that's right he needs to

40:30

rethink that statement because three

40:32

burglars who haven't killed anyone

40:34

yet are not worse than a

40:36

serial killing homicidal clown maniac. That's

40:39

not worse. He's crazy,

40:41

okay? He can't

40:43

help it. Oh, bless. Every

40:46

time he sees Joker, he's like, oh,

40:48

poor Joker. Come on. Come with me. Back

40:50

to Arkham. Come on, little one. Yes,

40:52

yes. Oh, you turned the fish into your

40:54

face. Very good. Very good. You've

40:57

killed like 12 people here. Oh, okay. Well,

40:59

that's all right. That's a new number for you.

41:02

Good job. Yeah. Back to Arkham. Sit

41:05

down and talk about how you feel. Meanwhile,

41:07

the Terrible Trio's going to jail for, like,

41:10

having an ounce of weed on them. They're

41:13

worse than the Joker. There's no

41:15

justice in Gotham. He's

41:18

Ivy League and smoking weed. That

41:21

really grinds my gears. Scoundrels

41:24

like these are worse than the Joker.

41:26

At least he's got madness as an excuse.

41:29

There's also... The

41:32

trio straight up pushing Rebecca off

41:34

the cliff in her car. I thought

41:36

that was... Yeah, the thing is,

41:38

obviously, the ringleader, the fox, they all

41:40

did it as a laugh at

41:42

first, but he was clearly pushing the

41:44

limits and pushing the limits. He's

41:46

the only one that actually wants to kill

41:48

her. Sorry, I had to do it. Like you.

41:50

It fits in the box. and

41:55

i that's what i like it's the same

41:57

as in the film rope how there's the

41:59

one guy that really wanted to do the

42:01

murder and then his boyfriend is is like

42:03

really freaking out about the whole thing and

42:05

never really wanted to go this far in

42:07

the first place i always love that when

42:09

you have a group of people and like

42:12

not everybody is on the same page yeah

42:14

yeah um yeah and i liked how they

42:16

were like trying to back out at that

42:18

point but he was he was in too

42:20

deep um i love that batman moment is

42:22

uh right after The Batplane

42:24

shows up, like, as you said, well, that's

42:26

just so fucking cool how it just,

42:28

you know, he's just like, look how much

42:30

I'm worth as it floats up. But

42:33

it's the ejector seat that turns into the

42:35

Batglider in front of the moon. I was like,

42:37

that's so fucking cool. And the Batman theme

42:39

plays, that's my love that Batman moment. Tell me

42:41

you have money without telling me you have

42:43

money. yeah

42:53

yeah oh i'm telling you

42:55

yeah yeah i have money

42:57

yeah yeah he's he's singing

42:59

his own theme as he's

43:01

like no i actually got

43:03

princess here i paid him

43:05

he's on a glider as

43:07

well with a guitar that's

43:09

the episode i want to

43:11

see yeah you made this

43:13

way better now i want

43:15

to see that um

43:22

so yeah we had the woodland foot

43:24

chase sequence in uh in the snow which

43:26

i thought was cool and batman stalking

43:28

him in the woods and taking them out

43:30

one by one i thought was like

43:33

it was cool yeah that was and that

43:35

was kind of like a almost little

43:37

horror movie vibe like batman's the you know

43:39

the horror monster that's taking them out

43:41

one by one and stalking them i thought

43:43

it was cool Nods to James Bond

43:45

as well with the snowmobile fight sequence or

43:47

the skeet shooting sequence earlier from Moonraker

43:49

felt very much like a Bond scene. And

43:52

the snowmobile being red, I

43:54

thought, looked very much like

43:56

Santa's sleigh. I kind

43:58

of had a little daydream in this episode I

44:00

was watching, and I was like... Batman and

44:02

Santa, like on an adventure. Like, what would that

44:04

be about? Like, that sounds like a lot

44:06

of fun. That's great. I'll write it. Yeah. Right

44:10

after you write Prince showing up and say, this

44:12

is a Christmas can show up in that as

44:14

well. That's exactly what it is. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

44:19

I'm on a fire. We

44:22

all love that. Yeah, I'm

44:24

in. Honestly, there's some sadness like,

44:26

oh, Prince, every time. Prince,

44:28

you slap the shit out of that bass.

44:33

Now let's go visit the children. It's

44:37

Alfred in a fat suit. Yeah. Why

44:39

did you make me put this on,

44:41

sir? Alfred, let's consult each other. Do

44:43

you like how this looks? I don't,

44:45

sir. I don't, Alfred. Well,

44:48

you're not going to try. You're the other

44:50

Alfred. Oh, it

44:53

seems I've lost myself. Hold on. Let

44:55

me find a mirror. A few

44:57

too many eggnogs. You

45:00

know what affects me, too. When you do it, it affects

45:02

both of us. We're the same person. I'd

45:05

like a free high every now and then. That

45:07

sounds nice. All right. Sounds good, Alfred. Very

45:10

well, Alfred. It's just

45:12

the scene in Jurassic Park where he's like,

45:14

hello, John. hello

45:18

john hello john hello hello john

45:21

from what hello uh he would

45:23

have made a good alfred actually

45:25

what's his face richard attenborough oh

45:27

yeah he would have been good

45:29

well he's my favorite santa that's

45:32

for sure oh he's in miracle

45:34

on 34th street yeah yeah yeah

45:36

oh that scene with the death

45:38

child my god yeah I said

45:40

death. I was like, there's the

45:42

rock and roll angle for this

45:45

whole Prince Santa thing. Metallica

45:48

is our guest this time. We

45:50

have a Metallica. Give me fuel,

45:52

give me fire, he's another deaf

45:54

child. That

45:57

one's just in the sleigh,

45:59

like, fuck yeah, fuck yeah, Metallica's

46:02

sick. Not

46:04

even saving anyone. Prince

46:09

is really my vibe. I

46:12

loved the fox trying to bribe

46:14

Batman at the end to let

46:16

him go, and not knowing he's

46:18

bribing the wealthiest guy in Gotham.

46:21

It's a really cool end to this

46:23

whole thing. And buys a lot

46:25

of Batarangs. I thought that was a great line, too,

46:27

that he threw in there. Robin's like,

46:29

what about Robin Rangs, huh? Shut

46:34

up about the Robin Rangs. I'll make

46:36

that deal. Yeah, he's not in the

46:38

will. He doesn't fucking care. I

46:41

don't own stock in Wayne Enterprises. I'm

46:43

good. Wait, wait a minute. We can

46:45

make a deal. A million dollars to

46:47

let me go. Ten

46:49

million. Think about it. Buys a

46:51

lot of batarangs. So at the end,

46:53

Fox is pushed into his prison

46:55

cell and spots one of Bullock's cockroaches

46:58

before spotting his new cellmate who's

47:00

clipping his toenails. over his bed like

47:02

a monster i have never seen

47:04

anything more jarring in a cartoon in

47:06

my life when i saw that

47:08

i was like oh i said out

47:10

because he's just clipping his toenails

47:12

and he's like like he makes this

47:14

gross throat noise too i i

47:17

couldn't believe that i never thought i'd

47:19

see that in batman the animated

47:21

series but here we are talking about

47:23

a guy clipping his toenails i

47:25

wonder if they There was a bit

47:27

of influence here from, I always

47:29

get their last names wrong, but it

47:31

was a popular show they did

47:33

recently on the two brothers that killed

47:36

the Remenders brothers. Yeah, I think

47:38

that's right. Yeah. Is that their last

47:40

name? Remenders brothers. Isaac, did you

47:42

see that Netflix show? I didn't see

47:44

that. No, I know. Oh, it's

47:46

fantastic. But it's very good. Yeah, it's

47:48

really good. I'll check it out.

47:50

I wonder if this was slightly maybe

47:53

some inspiration with that going on

47:55

in the news. I don't know if

47:57

it was around the time of

47:59

young people doing crime and everything like

48:01

that. Yeah, you might be right. It's

48:04

American Crime Story. That's who makes

48:06

it, right? Yeah. Okay,

48:08

okay. Season

48:10

four. Sorry, I just

48:12

want to know what

48:15

their name is. One

48:17

hour later. Nope, it's not

48:19

telling me. Never mind. Google

48:23

murder brothers kill parents. Murder

48:25

brothers. In LA, rich. Kill

48:27

parents. That's how I Google,

48:29

just like keywords. just throwing

48:31

out. Yeah, Menendez. You're

48:33

right. You are right. Yeah. Lyle

48:35

and Eric Menendez. Yeah. Menendez?

48:38

Menendez, yeah. I

48:40

said Remendez. Oh, okay.

48:42

Menendez. Say Menendez

48:44

and I say Remendez.

48:47

Murder. Parents. Spoiler.

48:49

Sorry. maybe it was

48:51

in batman the animated series um

48:53

it was it was around the time

48:55

you're right it was around the

48:57

it was like mid 90s that this

48:59

happened so maybe yeah that could

49:01

be a parallel um i did think

49:03

it was funny that the inmate

49:05

like lets out this horrible gargle and

49:07

fox looks like really scared as

49:09

we fade to black and we obviously

49:11

don't see what happens next but

49:13

i think his foxhole was about to

49:15

be filled if you know what

49:17

i'm saying jesus christ well we saw

49:19

a guy clipping his toenails that's

49:21

worse i'm getting ready we didn't know

49:23

that that's what the next scene

49:25

was gonna be yeah it'd be jokes

49:27

if it wasn't though like his

49:29

cellmate was just like clearing his throat

49:31

and he's not a horrible monster

49:33

he's just like a really nice guy

49:35

oh just a weird edit yeah

49:37

he's totally fine what's

49:42

funny about that too you mentioned how

49:44

it was so scary to see the

49:46

clip tone like when i think about

49:48

scenes like that somebody spent months like

49:50

storyboarding that and painting that and like

49:52

getting that approved like that moment just

49:54

like someone thought about that for a

49:57

long time painting somebody clipping their toenails

49:59

and burping yeah imagine being that that

50:01

particular storyboard scene artist where it's like

50:03

yeah yeah because you work for jade

50:05

animation that's the first animated episode they've

50:07

ever done and it's like oh batman

50:09

huh yeah yeah yeah it's this are

50:11

you joker two -faced terrible

50:13

trio yeah i mean they're they're

50:16

from the comics 1950s okay what's

50:18

like what scene are you doing

50:20

is it like a cool like

50:22

chase sequence uh there's a guy

50:24

clipping his toenails in the jail

50:26

cell i got it's the end

50:28

though i'm doing the end scene

50:30

so that's cool pretty cool yeah

50:33

i quit i'm

50:42

glad isaac's here to laugh at some

50:44

of my jokes yeah i would have

50:46

laughed at that joke i saw your

50:48

stone face i was like motherfucker um

50:50

okay so i'm here to bring peace

50:52

to the both of you that's that's

50:54

why i'm here to bridge the gap

50:56

between the age -old rivalry that is

50:58

this yeah we got a real charles

51:00

xavier magneto thing going on over here

51:02

you know what i'm saying that's what

51:04

it is Well,

51:09

then you should be fat, you know, because

51:11

you just acquire food instead of metal. Cakes

51:15

and pies come towards me. Can't

51:18

resist. Oh,

51:21

man. Okay, so that is the

51:23

end of the episode. Top three right

51:25

now on our list is almost

51:27

Gollum Joker's favorite laughing fish. Buddy, I

51:29

know what you're going to say,

51:31

but does this episode replace any of

51:33

those for you? No, but I

51:35

liked it way better than what public

51:37

opinion thinks of this episode. That's

51:39

for sure. i agree um isaac ranking

51:41

out of 10 what would you

51:43

rank this episode i think i'd maybe

51:45

give it like six and a

51:47

half for me seven okay yeah yeah

51:49

buddy what did you rate this

51:51

one 7 .9 out of 10 i

51:53

enjoyed it i gave it i gave

51:55

it a 7 .5 i enjoyed it

51:57

more than i thought as well

51:59

so let's say we're around the sevens

52:01

cool uh unanimous here um give

52:04

it an eight eight out of ten

52:06

change my score there you go He's

52:11

like, son of a bitch. Okay,

52:15

fit check. Ready, Will?

52:17

Fit check it. Have fun. you

52:20

please, Isaac? Yes. I

52:23

will say, as a comic book

52:25

artist, yeah? I was surprised in

52:27

this episode because there were many

52:29

costume changes and outfits we've never

52:31

seen before. And Jade, this

52:33

is their first episode. So they obviously really

52:35

wanted to impress because every time we

52:37

saw Bruce in a new scene. He was

52:39

in a different outfit. Same

52:42

with the trio. You know they don't

52:44

make that decision, right? It's not the

52:46

studio that's like, I'm going to draw

52:48

this outfit on him. That's all done

52:50

in the production phase. They're not going

52:53

go to animation with storyboards and be like, I'll put

52:55

an outfit on him. I don't know. Bruce

52:58

Timm would have designed all of those

53:00

outfits. Yeah, I suppose you're right.

53:02

We've got to impress them, boys. Let's put

53:04

them in every outfit we possibly can. Why

53:09

is that mentality? That's so

53:11

stupid to me. Were

53:13

you impressed by the amount of outfits

53:15

Bruce Wayne was wearing? Pretty

53:18

cool, right? We're

53:20

starting the meeting with the outfits. Everybody take

53:22

a look at what we've got. The

53:24

range is incredible. We have multiple

53:26

fabrics, patterns. What if they animated like

53:29

a bunch of outfits and they

53:31

were like, we don't like these outfits.

53:33

They're like, oh, fuck. We

53:35

spent years working on this. Why

53:38

did you give us the outfits to animate?

53:40

And then we would have avoided this. The

53:43

funny thing is, a really smart way of

53:45

doing it. We actually

53:47

wore all the outfits to the meeting

53:49

ourselves. That's right. It's a little bit

53:51

of a Bruce Wayne fashion show. Yeah.

53:54

They hire a designer

53:57

as well. Yeah.

53:59

We brought in the

54:01

designer of Tommy

54:03

Hilfiger. We made Prince

54:05

an outfit. Yeah.

54:08

And now the Veer and Wang Robin

54:10

rang. Here we go. We

54:13

kind of like the Robin rang.

54:15

Yeah. really out

54:17

of everything okay well batman wears a

54:19

cream colored jumper over a blue

54:21

shirt and gray trousers he also rocks

54:23

that's the one that was going

54:25

to impress them the most yeah i

54:28

i said batman i mean bruce

54:30

batman didn't wear that i would love

54:32

to see batman though in that

54:34

just that outfit but with the bat

54:36

with the mask on uh he

54:38

also rocks a beige outfit with brown

54:40

flat cap when he's uh doing

54:43

his little skeet shooting dark

54:45

and light gray suit with blue polo

54:47

the trio and rebecca also wear loads

54:49

of different polos button -ups turtlenecks jackets swimsuits

54:51

whole fashion fashion range that they obviously

54:53

had to do and fallbrook wears a

54:55

bathrobe and striped pjs when his house

54:57

is being rubbed and that is fit

54:59

check and you may hate it but

55:01

we just all had a laugh at

55:04

my expense there so it stays that's

55:06

what we're here to do is laugh

55:08

at your expense spare no expense Okay,

55:12

well, next up, the episode

55:14

next week we will be

55:16

reviewing is Holoquinaid. It's

55:19

pronounced Holoquinaid. Isaac, do you

55:21

know what that episode is

55:23

about? I do not. It's

55:25

been a minute. Is she

55:27

getting in like the juice

55:29

racket or something like that?

55:33

That's what I thought too. It's like

55:35

the new, what is it called?

55:37

The stupid drink that that guy made.

55:40

All the kids love. Oh, Prime?

55:42

Prime, that's it. What is that? Prime?

55:45

Really? Where have you been?

55:47

Not drinking Prime. That's good

55:49

for you. Yeah. Maybe

55:53

it's more popular in the UK.

55:55

I didn't even know that. No, it

55:57

started in America. Did it? It

55:59

started in America. It

56:01

started in America. American

56:07

is Greek. Yeah.

56:10

Harlequinade is the episode where

56:13

Harley Quinn is drafted into

56:15

helping Batman find and stop

56:17

the Joker before he does

56:19

something terrible. And also invest

56:21

in an electrolyte positive drink

56:24

that kids will love. That's

56:27

red, right? It's got to be red,

56:29

the liquid. It's red and black. Red

56:31

and black. What? The liquid is? It's

56:34

got like a split down the middle

56:36

of the bottle. Yeah. It's a new

56:38

can design. The other

56:40

side. Pretty cool. And

56:44

if you want to be bold, you can

56:46

pull it out. Mix it up. Harlequinade,

56:49

which side will you choose? Oh,

56:53

I want one. Yeah. Black

56:56

currant and raspberry. Sounds great. Yeah. Oh,

56:58

that actually, let's make it. Let's do

57:00

it. All

57:03

right. We'll come back next week

57:05

where we're inventing more drinks and

57:07

review Harlequinade. Now bankrupt from our

57:09

venture into Harlequinade. Well, Isaac

57:11

will fund all of it. Okay.

57:15

uh yeah i'm just the

57:17

idea man you know yeah

57:19

why don't we draw the

57:22

outfits to impress that was

57:24

my idea you're gonna have

57:26

to come in on the

57:28

weekends because we got three

57:30

costume changes all right come

57:32

back next week we'll be

57:34

talking hollow grenade but right

57:36

now it's time for riddle

57:38

me this william But

57:44

you'll still have to answer

57:46

the riddle. I can't believe it's

57:48

luck. Oh, darn. Now

57:51

there's a riddle for you.

57:53

A lucky guess, that's

57:55

all. Now, now, no sore

57:57

losers. And

57:59

Isaac. Thanks

58:02

for including me. Yeah,

58:06

riddle me this, boys. This is a

58:08

game I play with my brother, and at

58:10

this point, also Isaac, where I ask

58:12

them three questions on the episode we just

58:14

watched to make sure that they were

58:16

paying attention. Feel free to play along at

58:18

your home, or in your car, or

58:20

wherever you are. Question one, guys, are we

58:22

ready? Yeah. Okay,

58:24

question one is, the terrible

58:26

trio's animals were predators of what?

58:29

Land, sea, and air. Yes, land, sea, and

58:32

air, yeah. Yeah, well done. Which I thought

58:34

was fun. I thought it was fun too,

58:36

yeah. And I liked how it was tied

58:38

to their dad's businesses as well. Yeah, that

58:40

was fun. Question two, how much

58:42

did Rebecca spend on her father's credit

58:44

card in a month? 5G.

58:47

5 ,000. Wow, yeah, well

58:49

done. Suddenly

58:52

you're like, this is my favorite episode of

58:54

Batman series. I liked

58:56

it. Question three.

58:58

Which dynasty was boring according

59:01

to the Fox? Ming. Oh,

59:03

yeah. Pulling it out

59:05

there. Boring dynasty anyway. Okay,

59:07

and this is the big one. There's a bonus

59:09

question here. This is for the big bucks. Yeah,

59:12

big imaginary bucks. What was

59:14

the fraternity the trio belonged to

59:16

in college? You

59:18

know this one? Do

59:21

I? Of course! The

59:23

first word or letter

59:25

begins with a D. I

59:27

know the first one is Delta. Correct.

59:31

The second letter is

59:33

the first letter of

59:35

my fraternity that I

59:37

belong to. Sigma. Correct.

59:41

And then the third letter

59:43

begins with an A. It

59:46

usually means Alpha. Delta

59:48

Sigma Alpha. Delta Sigma Alpha. I didn't

59:50

have you guys at all. I can't believe

59:53

you guys got that. It was amazing. Perfection.

59:56

Well done. Did you go to university,

59:58

Isaac? I did. Wasn't part of a

1:00:00

fraternity, but I did go to university,

1:00:02

yes. Yes, I did. I had friends

1:00:04

that were, though, but not me personally.

1:00:06

There was no fraternities when I went

1:00:08

to university. I don't know if I

1:00:10

would have joined one because I'm not

1:00:12

as cool as a bro as my

1:00:15

brother. How

1:00:19

do you do, fellow kids?

1:00:21

Draw the outfits, dude, and that

1:00:23

will impress them. Whoa, bro.

1:00:25

Yeah. It totally

1:00:27

works. Man. Look

1:00:30

at the shading on this one,

1:00:32

dude. It's awesome. Shading,

1:00:34

bro. You can totally

1:00:36

feel the color scheme. We're totally

1:00:38

going to get the next gig

1:00:40

now, bro. Sweet.

1:00:43

They never work on Batman ever again.

1:00:46

Okay, so we're going to call it

1:00:48

Bat Bros, and here's what's going to

1:00:50

happen. We're bald. We changed Batman's whole

1:00:52

look for this episode. Just

1:00:55

wait. Hold on. Get

1:00:57

the PowerPoint. And you've heard of

1:00:59

Batarangs whenever you've heard of Robin Rangs. Again,

1:01:02

we like the Robin Rangs. Merchandise. Where

1:01:07

did you go to uni, Isaac?

1:01:09

What state? UC Irvine, so it's in

1:01:11

California. okay yes yeah so still

1:01:13

sticking with the west coast didn't go

1:01:15

far out i did not no

1:01:17

and in fact actually my first i'm

1:01:20

going to be traveling internationally for

1:01:22

the first time in june so i've

1:01:24

never left oh really yeah what

1:01:26

for c2e2 uh no I

1:01:31

mean, it's close to Canada.

1:01:33

Yeah, traveling to the far -off

1:01:35

land of Chicago. I might

1:01:37

draw a couple new outfits for that one as well. To

1:01:40

impress the foreign aid

1:01:42

of Chicago. No,

1:01:44

I'm actually going to be

1:01:46

going to London and Paris.

1:01:48

London? Yeah. In June? In

1:01:51

June, yes. So we're seeing you then?

1:01:53

Yes, I was going to say yes.

1:01:55

I will. communicate with you guys as

1:01:57

soon as we're there. Absolutely. Because I

1:01:59

want tips and want to see you

1:02:01

guys, and I'm going to be going

1:02:03

with my girlfriend, so we'll both be

1:02:06

there. Great. Oh, amazing. Yeah. Okay, cool.

1:02:08

That sounds lovely. London and Paris, that's

1:02:10

good choices for first international travel. Oh,

1:02:12

good. I'm glad you think so. Well,

1:02:14

speaking of international, we're ready to hear

1:02:16

from some listeners that are all the way

1:02:18

around the world, or all from over

1:02:21

the world. All the way around the world.

1:02:23

Almost a good segue, but I fucked

1:02:25

it up. Anyway. It's You've Got Mail. Oh,

1:02:27

by the way, this came for you

1:02:29

an hour ago by Messenger. You've

1:02:31

Got Mail. Thank you, Alfred.

1:02:33

Okay, we've got a few listeners

1:02:35

writing in here. We've got the first

1:02:37

one from Samuel Smith, who just

1:02:39

simply says, Sam Smith says, new episode

1:02:41

means a bright spot to my

1:02:43

week. Thanks for the content. You're very

1:02:46

welcome, Samuel Smith. Then

1:02:48

we've got Jonathan R, who said, this

1:02:50

channel makes my life so much better.

1:02:52

Thank you for doing these. You're very

1:02:54

welcome, Jonathan. and then finally

1:02:56

we got dan s who has

1:02:58

left us 15 bucks in the

1:03:00

tip jar nice and he said

1:03:02

in my hand if that money

1:03:04

doesn't show then you owe me

1:03:06

owe me oh okay he said

1:03:08

this is going to start off

1:03:10

strong i'm just i'm just letting

1:03:12

you know he said the the

1:03:15

dead mums club welcome We've got

1:03:17

T -shirts and fanny bags. I've

1:03:20

always wanted to write in and

1:03:22

then weeks ago after your year

1:03:25

one dead mom joke, I was

1:03:27

like, fuck, I can relate. My

1:03:29

mom is also worm food from

1:03:31

pancreatic cancer. And then what? And

1:03:33

then what a loser. Fucking

1:03:37

nerd for dying. Losers

1:03:42

capitalize as well. Oh, good.

1:03:46

He said, wanted to thank you guys for all

1:03:48

your hard work. I've never done a podcast,

1:03:50

but I got to assume it's a pain in

1:03:52

the ass. Love the dedication to the show.

1:03:55

And Will's nodding at the pain in the ass.

1:03:57

I was immediately like, yes. And

1:03:59

all he does is show up and fucking

1:04:01

record. He doesn't do any of the -

1:04:03

Oh, is that all I do, is it? My

1:04:06

color commentary is not enough for you.

1:04:08

No, no, it works. He says, love

1:04:10

the dedication to the show. Batman and

1:04:12

all the belly laughs I get to

1:04:15

enjoy when I'm at work. I probably

1:04:17

look insane cackling to myself whilst I'm

1:04:19

welding. That's quite the thing. What an

1:04:21

intense thing to do. Yeah, oh my

1:04:23

God. Just a guy welding and giggling

1:04:25

like. Should you

1:04:27

be giggling? Because, like, you're going to move the

1:04:29

thing, I feel like. That

1:04:32

beam really needs a support. Yeah,

1:04:34

just burn someone's hand off, like,

1:04:36

oh, fuck, sorry. Sorry, Batman podcast.

1:04:39

We are not liable for any

1:04:41

injuries caused by listening to Batman The

1:04:43

Animated Studios Podcast. Sorry,

1:04:45

they're making fun of this guy because

1:04:47

he just said that the animation, they drew

1:04:49

outfits to impress the producers, which is

1:04:51

the dumbest thing I've ever heard. you

1:04:55

came in here genuinely believing that that

1:04:57

was the way that these companies operate

1:04:59

and i've seen the storyboards of this

1:05:01

show i know where it starts i

1:05:03

know where they can set things so

1:05:05

they obviously as you said bruce tim

1:05:08

conceptualized outfits or the animators were like

1:05:10

okay i'll take this and i'll put

1:05:12

bruce in this outfit that's what they

1:05:14

did before they sent it overseas yeah

1:05:16

Oh my god. We'll do everything except

1:05:18

for the outfits. We'll just leave that

1:05:20

to the animation department. The

1:05:23

entire look of the characters.

1:05:26

So stupid. Oh, speaking

1:05:28

of lots of characters, Rebecca, she

1:05:30

had short hair. Did you fancy her? Of

1:05:32

course. yeah okay i forgot to ask

1:05:34

you that in the review i figured that

1:05:36

you would be hot for rebecca in

1:05:38

that situation oh that's strong words i'm not

1:05:40

like hanging over a cartoon character but

1:05:42

yes one of my preferences is short hair

1:05:44

but that's just you know i don't

1:05:47

know why i made that public my wife

1:05:49

loves it with her long hair she's

1:05:51

like oh yeah you love I'm

1:05:54

not saying it's a practice. I like

1:05:56

it from time to time. It's out

1:05:58

there. It's canon. That the descriptor. Yeah.

1:06:00

It's not the worst thing out there

1:06:02

that's about you, though. That's for sure.

1:06:05

Let's move on then. Well, I'll finish. Dan

1:06:07

has more here. He's got a question

1:06:09

as well. So Dan says, I always notice

1:06:11

when you guys bring up what you're

1:06:13

putting in your holes. It's usually a US

1:06:16

show like Curb or The Office. I

1:06:18

also love British comedies, he said, like The

1:06:20

Inbetweeners, Friday Night Dinner. plebs, fresh meat,

1:06:22

et cetera. So I got to ask, what's

1:06:24

your guys' favorite UK comedy? And he

1:06:26

then finishes with P .S. Will. Go Gunners.

1:06:28

If you guys ever come back to America

1:06:30

and get to the Philadelphia area, I'd

1:06:32

love to buy you guys some cheesesteaks and

1:06:35

a beer. Enjoy, guys, and take care.

1:06:37

I've got a low globe to fill whilst

1:06:39

my wife watches The Traitors. I

1:06:42

like The Traitors. That's a good show.

1:06:44

The Traitors is good. Yeah. Okay, so Isaac.

1:06:46

be involved in this as well if

1:06:48

you've got a favorite uk comedy uh but

1:06:50

yeah uh well you go first what's

1:06:53

your favorite um probably the english version of

1:06:55

the office i know it's a boring

1:06:57

thing to say but it's just so freaking

1:06:59

funny and still holds up as just

1:07:01

a masterpiece to me but A

1:07:03

more deeper cut would be something

1:07:05

older, like Dad's Army, which is just

1:07:07

so sweet and so funny and

1:07:09

just a part of our upbringing as

1:07:11

well. Reminds me a lot

1:07:14

of our relatives that are in

1:07:16

the worm food stage. Losers!

1:07:21

Fucking losers, right? Being

1:07:23

dead, being old and

1:07:25

dying. Nerds. Yeah,

1:07:28

so English Office. Anything

1:07:31

else? Yeah, loads of things, but those

1:07:33

are my big standouts. Okay. Isaac?

1:07:37

Yeah, as far as UK comedies, it's a

1:07:39

little bit of a... I need to

1:07:41

look into more because there aren't a ton

1:07:43

that I've seen, but this thing is

1:07:45

actually comedy, like a straight -up comedy show,

1:07:47

but I love the Graham Norton show quite

1:07:49

a bit. I feel like clips fly

1:07:51

through my YouTube algorithm all the time, so

1:07:53

I love watching that. And

1:07:55

in college, someone showed me a bit of Fry and

1:07:57

Laurie, which I really enjoyed a lot, which is older,

1:07:59

but like, I really liked that one a lot. Oh,

1:08:02

right. Yeah. Stephen Fry and Hugh

1:08:04

Laurie. Yeah. They're comedy, like sketch

1:08:06

comedy things. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And

1:08:09

then I have watched a little

1:08:11

bit of the, I'm getting through both

1:08:14

offices. So I want to watch

1:08:16

more of the UK version and the

1:08:18

American version because I never did

1:08:20

the full binge on either one. So

1:08:22

I'm like trying to make my

1:08:24

way through it. Yeah, I know. Yeah.

1:08:26

where are you in the american

1:08:29

one i don't uh where am i

1:08:31

i'm not very far in i

1:08:33

can't remember exactly the episode but um

1:08:35

yeah it's like episode two yeah

1:08:37

yeah i finished the first five minutes

1:08:39

i finished the cold open of

1:08:41

episode one the season one um okay

1:08:44

cool yeah i mean for me

1:08:46

um yeah i guess

1:08:48

like 40 towers going back like

1:08:50

oh yeah 40 towers is

1:08:52

always an older one and then

1:08:54

also well what's um the

1:08:56

comedian's name where uh he's like

1:08:58

there's that christmas special where

1:09:00

he's like fry your bugger with

1:09:02

like Harry Enfield,

1:09:04

yeah. I'm a big fan of Harry

1:09:06

Enfield's shows. That's true. I'm also a

1:09:08

huge fan of all the Harry Enfield

1:09:10

shows. Only Fools and Horses is another

1:09:12

classic. What's the one

1:09:14

with, I forget what the show is,

1:09:16

but the one where old Greg became

1:09:18

famous. I forget. Oh, that became popular

1:09:20

over in America. That's, what's it called? The

1:09:23

Mighty Boosh. miny bush yeah i do

1:09:25

like the stuff i've seen from them

1:09:27

it's great and one foot in the

1:09:29

grave that was another one that i

1:09:31

used to watch a lot that was

1:09:33

a good show yeah a lot of

1:09:35

older ones i don't think i'm up

1:09:37

to date with like new ones in

1:09:39

between us i i liked uh when

1:09:41

it came out um i haven't seen

1:09:43

in a while but yeah thanks for

1:09:45

writing in dan thanks for leaving that

1:09:47

15 in the tip jar appreciate that

1:09:49

appreciate that so dan's putting a load

1:09:51

of british comedy shows in his holes

1:09:53

but guys what content are you putting

1:09:55

in your holes isaac What are you

1:09:57

reading or eating or listening to? We

1:09:59

never talk about music. Yeah, that's true.

1:10:03

Music, movies, TV. I

1:10:05

mean, I know your life is

1:10:07

voice acting, but do you watch

1:10:09

to enjoy? Well, right now, I

1:10:11

mean, enjoy is an interesting word

1:10:13

to say for this one, but

1:10:15

severance is a big one for

1:10:17

me. I just finished season two

1:10:19

of that, which is fantastic. I

1:10:21

just started watching The Studio, which is

1:10:23

the new Seth Rogen comedy about working in

1:10:25

movies. Yeah, it was good. and

1:10:28

then uh i feel like that show is

1:10:30

made for particular people yes like yeah you

1:10:32

me probably my brother like that loves movies

1:10:35

and tv and i mean you're in you're

1:10:37

actually in the industry so it's taken even

1:10:39

a step further but like yeah to see

1:10:41

seth rogan's character who like loves all this

1:10:43

and then he's forced into a position where

1:10:45

he's gotta like take orders from the money

1:10:47

man and do everything that goes against his

1:10:49

creative core like i think that's great i

1:10:51

think it's yeah no it is and what's

1:10:53

interesting is i'm so because i i've done

1:10:55

some on -camera stuff but not very much

1:10:57

and so i lean more on my girlfriend

1:11:00

when I talk to her about her experience

1:11:02

being on set. And I'm like, I was

1:11:04

talking to her last night about this and

1:11:06

she's like, yeah, this is kind of the

1:11:08

norm with a lot of situations that are

1:11:10

out there in Hollywood. And I'm like, man,

1:11:12

that's, that's tough. That's really rough. But like,

1:11:14

it's cool to see it dramatized. It's cool

1:11:16

to see that there's a clear voice with,

1:11:18

I feel like I can connect to how

1:11:20

Seth Rogen feels in the show with his

1:11:22

characters going through. And yeah, so I'm enjoying

1:11:25

that. um and then what else uh i

1:11:27

haven't oh and the righteous gemstones is the

1:11:29

other one oh it's such a good show

1:11:31

yeah yeah it's all caught up on the

1:11:33

new season i'm just waiting for the new

1:11:35

season to be done and then yeah it's

1:11:37

a good way to do it yeah yeah

1:11:39

yeah um have you ever seen the righteous

1:11:41

gemstones bud i've seen season one and i

1:11:43

enjoyed it and then i just i don't

1:11:45

for whatever reason just stop watching it but

1:11:47

i can i own all it on apple

1:11:50

so you can watch okay okay yeah cool

1:11:52

And then as far as you mentioned music,

1:11:54

one brand new thing that was great was

1:11:56

Elton John and Brandi Carlile's new album just

1:11:58

came out, Who Believes in Angels. Really good

1:12:00

stuff, good music. Like that

1:12:02

a lot. And then kind of

1:12:04

in the music genre, because I

1:12:06

love movie scores a lot. There's

1:12:08

a great channel on YouTube called

1:12:10

Listening In that I really enjoy.

1:12:14

that he breaks down movie scores in a

1:12:16

way I haven't seen and like explores

1:12:18

how they feel, why they feel the way

1:12:20

they feel, how they were created, what

1:12:22

they're doing thematically to your, to you, to

1:12:24

your That sounds like the podcast I

1:12:26

tried to do and failed miserably at doing.

1:12:28

Podcast is so funny. Yeah. Is it

1:12:30

out there? Can I listen to this, this

1:12:32

version of your, the, the. there's

1:12:35

three episodes and they're all on batman

1:12:37

89 and it's on the score of

1:12:39

batman and it's just me and it's

1:12:41

very bad and it's very funny yeah

1:12:43

it's it's weird not having someone to

1:12:45

bounce off of which is yes well

1:12:47

before i was like oh he only

1:12:49

shows up but it's it's crucial to

1:12:51

have someone that you have a good

1:12:53

like you know chemistry with yeah um

1:12:55

it's why i i wouldn't do i

1:12:57

would be a terrible stand -up comedian

1:12:59

because all of my comedy is just

1:13:01

bouncing over what other people say That's

1:13:03

true, yeah. Yeah, so you can listen

1:13:05

to it. It's called The Superhero Soundtrack Show.

1:13:07

Okay, great. It's on Batman

1:13:10

89, and it's terrible. Yeah,

1:13:13

I'm a big movie score fan as well,

1:13:15

so that sounds good. I actually will check

1:13:18

that out. That sounds fun. Yeah,

1:13:20

yeah. And Danny Elfman's newest, actually, speaking of

1:13:22

89, Batman, he did the score for

1:13:24

the new Epic Universe. land at epic at

1:13:26

epic universe in universal they're opening in

1:13:28

orlando they have a brand new theme park

1:13:30

and they have a whole classic universal

1:13:32

monsters land that they built and daniel did

1:13:35

the score for it and he released

1:13:37

like a physical version of it at some

1:13:39

i don't know if it's a cd

1:13:41

or a vinyl but you can only buy

1:13:43

it in that land in orlando i'm

1:13:45

gonna go check it out but a buddy

1:13:47

of mine um has done a bunch

1:13:49

of the artwork that you can like buy

1:13:52

a merchandise for the universal studios uh

1:13:54

segment of that place so that's oh that's

1:13:56

great that's cool Yeah. Yeah. It's a

1:13:58

cool job. I was really jealous he got

1:14:00

it. was like, how can I make

1:14:02

a book called Mobster Mash with all the

1:14:04

universal monsters? Yeah. Okay,

1:14:10

cool. Will, what are you putting in

1:14:12

your holes? Let's see.

1:14:14

I've started reading Jurassic Park. So

1:14:17

I'm enjoying that. Have you read

1:14:19

it? Never read it before. So

1:14:21

it's lovely sunny days recently. So

1:14:23

I've been sitting out. twiddling

1:14:26

my little toes outside and

1:14:28

enjoying the sun and reading that.

1:14:32

I've been playing a lot of Puyo

1:14:34

Puyo Tetris with my wife, which we've

1:14:36

been enjoying fighting each other with. I've

1:14:39

watched a couple of Cardinals games. the kids call

1:14:41

it these days? That's right. We're

1:14:45

doing a bit of Puyo Puyo Tetris in bed, if

1:14:47

you know what I'm saying. That's right. Watching

1:14:51

a lot of Cardinals games because

1:14:53

it's baseball season. properly

1:14:55

giving it a go this time because

1:14:57

it's always on. And

1:14:59

we just lost big time to the

1:15:01

Red Sox and it was really annoying

1:15:03

because we were winning until the final

1:15:05

inning and then we lost. So that

1:15:07

was fun. Let's see what

1:15:09

else. I watched all of Love on

1:15:12

the Spectrum season three and it was fantastic.

1:15:14

It melted my icy little heart. Oh

1:15:16

my God. I just watched that for the

1:15:18

first time. They had a screening of

1:15:20

it. We went to the first episode screening

1:15:22

and they had, they had some of

1:15:24

the cast there to do a Q and

1:15:26

a after. And it was great. I

1:15:28

was like, Oh, I assume what the people

1:15:30

that live in California. No,

1:15:32

they all, they all flew in to

1:15:34

be there. Yeah. So they had the cast

1:15:36

from this new season and they're like

1:15:38

families and the parent, like everybody was there

1:15:40

to see it. So it was cool.

1:15:42

It's amazing. I've also started the new season.

1:15:45

It's, it's amazing. And we're, we're working

1:15:47

our way through it and we love every

1:15:49

minute of it. There's one guy that's

1:15:51

like, super polite and enthusiastic which

1:15:53

i suppose you could say that for

1:15:55

most of them i've forgotten his name but

1:15:57

he was just on um tv and

1:15:59

he loves jack black like he like adores

1:16:01

him oh yeah i heard about that

1:16:03

jack black like does a video message to

1:16:05

him whilst he's on you know on

1:16:07

the set And he's like, oh,

1:16:09

Jack Black, like he's talking to me.

1:16:11

And then Jack Black's like, and that's

1:16:13

why I flew here. And he walks

1:16:16

away from the video out stage. And

1:16:18

the kid goes like crazy. He's just

1:16:20

like hugging him. And he's like, you're

1:16:22

actually here. It's so nice. Wow. And

1:16:24

they filmed that somewhere. I would love

1:16:26

to see that. It was on Kelly

1:16:28

Clarkson. Oh, okay. Oh, that's great. Wow.

1:16:31

That guy's great. He's like a Labrador

1:16:33

turned into a human. Yes. Yeah, he

1:16:35

is. Yeah. everyone is so

1:16:37

lovely on that show and like it's just

1:16:39

it's great and this show this season is

1:16:41

really well edited as well like the way

1:16:43

they intertwine all the stories making you want

1:16:45

to know like they'll leave you before like

1:16:47

a potential kiss and then go to like

1:16:49

other people and it's really like me and

1:16:51

my wife were like we're watching this whole

1:16:54

thing like over the weekend like we're doing

1:16:56

it like i gotta see what happens next

1:16:58

um it was just great i truly loved

1:17:00

it um but also i've been watching rewatch

1:17:02

did i say i rewatch cape fear already

1:17:04

I think so. Yes, you did. Yeah, you

1:17:06

did. It wasn't great. And

1:17:09

I guess I'll leave it at that. I'm sure I've

1:17:11

been watching many other things, but still re -watching Curb,

1:17:13

still loving that. Nice.

1:17:16

Being a cool guy. Well,

1:17:19

I just re -watched all of Parks

1:17:21

and Rec again and loved it as

1:17:23

always. It's just such a good show. um

1:17:26

i watched beautiful boy with steve

1:17:28

carell and timothy he uh they in

1:17:30

2017 they made this movie where

1:17:32

it was heavy it was really heavy

1:17:34

and i knew it was going

1:17:37

to be heavy watching the trailer but

1:17:39

me and my girlfriend were just

1:17:41

kind of in that mood for that

1:17:43

heavy drama and steve carell is

1:17:45

the dad to timothy chalamet who has

1:17:47

a drug addiction that he like

1:17:49

you know his brain chemistry changes because

1:17:52

he's so addicted and the whole

1:17:54

movie is about him trying to help

1:17:56

his son but like you really

1:17:58

can't help someone that's that addicted um

1:18:00

so it was it was good

1:18:02

it was heavy but i enjoyed it

1:18:04

and also for the office fans

1:18:07

um the actress who

1:18:09

plays holly is in the movie and

1:18:11

it's his steve carell's ex -wife and

1:18:13

timothy chalamet is their kid and

1:18:15

i was like this is like some

1:18:17

alternate universe like what happened to

1:18:19

michael and holly that's crazy yeah it

1:18:21

was crazy it was so weird

1:18:23

to see um so i enjoyed that

1:18:26

i watched the uh 2000 i

1:18:28

think it's 2000 lake placid movie i

1:18:30

haven't seen it in a really

1:18:32

long time so weird you say that

1:18:34

because i really have been wanting

1:18:36

to re -watch that movie as well

1:18:38

Well, it's on my Apple. Did it

1:18:40

hold up? It actually did. Now,

1:18:43

the CG is garbage. It is garbage.

1:18:45

But didn't they make a huge...

1:18:47

They did. Yeah. And there's

1:18:49

so many people in it. Bill Pullman's

1:18:51

in it. And he's great. Donald

1:18:55

Gleeson is the cop. And I

1:18:57

was like, Donald Gleeson? No, not

1:18:59

Donald Gleeson. Is that his name? The

1:19:01

guy from... I don't remember anybody that's in

1:19:04

that movie, bud. i

1:19:06

think it's donald gleason and then

1:19:08

um also uh the king from ready

1:19:10

to rumble whoever that actor is

1:19:12

you know who i'm talking about will

1:19:14

yeah yeah he's he's like and

1:19:16

it is a total bill pullman is

1:19:18

chief brody and then donald gleason

1:19:21

even though he's a cop as well

1:19:23

he's like the negative quint archetype

1:19:25

um a little bit and then the

1:19:27

uh the king from ready to

1:19:29

rumble this is a terrible explanation he

1:19:31

is hooper and he's the he's

1:19:33

the crocodile expert and it was great

1:19:35

to watch again like i really

1:19:37

enjoyed just some of the scene building

1:19:39

that they did and the jaws

1:19:41

odes that they were clearly doing yeah

1:19:43

and i'm also still reading the

1:19:45

last halloween which is um still very

1:19:48

good and still enjoying that and

1:19:50

i tried watching mufasa and uh i'm

1:19:52

sorry close your disney ears isaac

1:19:54

we turned it off okay we turned

1:19:56

it off after the first like

1:19:58

15 minutes it was really not good

1:20:00

in our opinion and we like

1:20:02

disney up in this house oh yeah

1:20:04

no i get it yeah it

1:20:06

was it was i i saw it

1:20:08

at a at a screening and

1:20:10

yeah it was sort of like i

1:20:13

i wasn't i wasn't sure how

1:20:15

i felt by the end of it

1:20:17

yeah i mean you don't have

1:20:19

to you don't have to say it

1:20:21

because i know there's probably mickey

1:20:23

mouse is behind your door with a

1:20:25

gun right now but you heard

1:20:27

him But

1:20:46

yeah, Mufasa, there was a scene where

1:20:48

it's when Simba's like floating on the

1:20:51

water. No, not Simba, Mufasa, baby Mufasa.

1:20:53

And Scar shows up as a kid

1:20:55

and he's just like, you want to

1:20:57

know a secret? I'm not going to

1:20:59

tell you. And I was like, that's

1:21:01

how you like meet someone. It was

1:21:03

just such weird forced dialogue. And I

1:21:05

was like, ew. But we both looked

1:21:07

at each other and went, nah. It

1:21:11

was not good. And that's

1:21:13

all I'm putting in my holes. I

1:21:15

don't know about folds. I had a

1:21:17

good pub lunch the other day. It

1:21:19

was nice, really solid chicken bacon club.

1:21:21

It was fucking banging. I had a

1:21:23

nice roast last night. Isaac,

1:21:26

you eat anything good in

1:21:28

California recently? Just in

1:21:30

the whole state of California, sure. California

1:21:33

in general. Actually,

1:21:36

I went to a

1:21:38

House of the Dragon. screening

1:21:41

um there's these fyc events for

1:21:43

the television academy and they and they

1:21:45

were like oh we'll give you

1:21:47

box dinner when you leave and i

1:21:49

was like okay cool to be

1:21:51

like a little like takeaway thing but

1:21:53

it was like a legit like

1:21:55

box it was like you know probably

1:21:57

12 inches wide you know five

1:21:59

inches tall like the house of the

1:22:01

dragon logo and it had like

1:22:03

uh like a dusted uh full loaf

1:22:05

of bread a full roasted chicken

1:22:07

a pie some vegetables some sort of

1:22:09

like delicious like dragon berry drink

1:22:11

or something like that and like something

1:22:13

like it was this whole like

1:22:15

like branded themed like feast that we

1:22:17

all got when we left so

1:22:19

that was pretty great memorable hell yeah

1:22:21

don't get any of those perks

1:22:24

drawn comics that sounds nice disney don't

1:22:26

hook me up with that shit

1:22:28

yeah here's a stale loaf of bread

1:22:30

for you and here's some more

1:22:32

work go work now bitch yeah well

1:22:34

here's no work you complain too

1:22:36

much Well,

1:22:39

that sounds cool. That's like what you're

1:22:41

putting in your folds that we've heard.

1:22:43

So that's fun. All right.

1:22:45

Well, if you want to put us in your holes

1:22:47

and you enjoy this podcast, please be sure to

1:22:49

leave us a five star review on whatever you're listening

1:22:51

to us on right now, as it helps us

1:22:53

back grapple up the charts and attract both new listeners

1:22:55

and guests. And if you leave a review, we

1:22:57

might read it out in the pod at the end

1:23:00

of each episode. And please subscribe or follow us

1:23:02

on your preferred podcast catcher of choice if you haven't

1:23:04

1:23:06

below to join our Discord and

1:23:08

chat with us and all the

1:23:10

other nerds that follow this podcast.

1:23:12

Also, you can email us at

1:23:14

batmantaspod at gmail .com or follow us

1:23:16

on social media at batmantaspod on

1:23:18

Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, everywhere but

1:23:20

the app formerly known as Twitter,

1:23:23

which is at batmantaspod1. And that's

1:23:25

because why? Because we are the

1:23:27

number one Batman, the animated series

1:23:29

podcast. You're goddamn right.

1:23:31

And as much as I love every time

1:23:33

you do that, Isaac, can I hear you say

1:23:35

that as well? Much better choice. Say

1:23:39

the phrase again. Because

1:23:41

we are the number one Batman the

1:23:44

Animated Series podcast. I'll just say it

1:23:46

because I was thinking of the other

1:23:48

Lucius Fox, the Morgan Freeman, because this

1:23:50

is the Batman the Animated Series podcast.

1:23:55

Very good. And in the description of this episode,

1:23:57

you'll find a tip jar where you can

1:23:59

give to us any amount of money you can

1:24:01

afford to give if you so wish. As

1:24:03

we are billionaire playboy philanthropists, any amount you can

1:24:05

afford to give us is not necessary, but

1:24:07

always greatly appreciated. And finally, you can follow Will

1:24:09

on his socials to stay up to date

1:24:11

on what he's working on now and get a

1:24:13

glimpse into the future. of a comic book

1:24:15

artist and writer. Will, where can our listeners find

1:24:17

you? You can find me anywhere on the

1:24:20

internet at Robson Inc. And that's R -O -B -S -O

1:24:22

-N -I -N -K. Or you can go to my

1:24:24

website, speechcomics .com. Sign up to my newsletter to

1:24:26

get notified when I launch my next comic book

1:24:28

project on Kickstarter. Got Outbreaks Volume 1 coming

1:24:30

up real soon. So that'll be the trade paperback

1:24:32

collection of all three issues of Outbreaks, which

1:24:34

includes a special news story for a free comic

1:24:36

book day, which will be a lot of

1:24:38

fun. And if you have not

1:24:40

backed Mobstumash, I'm going to say it

1:24:42

now. This is... well you might be

1:24:44

too late actually at this point where

1:24:46

this is yeah this is the cutoff

1:24:48

because i'm going to print real soon

1:24:50

so if you haven't backed it you

1:24:52

ain't gonna get it unless the next

1:24:54

you know one they can always yes

1:24:57

you can always you can always it'll

1:24:59

be eventually available on my website and

1:25:01

then it will also um be available

1:25:03

in the next kickstarter so you can't

1:25:05

get it but yeah anyway you can't

1:25:07

get it and you can't

1:25:09

get it no well the thing is

1:25:11

is that if you the people that

1:25:13

back they get their name inside the

1:25:15

book so it's like that's gonna be

1:25:17

cut off because i can't like do

1:25:19

oh you should do bro john johnson

1:25:22

just back so i gotta reprint the

1:25:24

whole book to really impress them you

1:25:26

should don't you say it don't you

1:25:28

dare say it the addendum to the

1:25:30

book though one of the gift tiers

1:25:32

is uh you get everyone's in layout

1:25:34

yeah Draw everyone in

1:25:37

the outfits that they want to be in. I

1:25:39

have put way too much of my energy

1:25:41

and my soul into this book, so I can't

1:25:43

even put a scent more. That's cool. Like

1:25:45

a monster book with your soul in it. That's

1:25:47

a story in itself. It does have my

1:25:49

soul in it. It does. It's like a Horcrux.

1:25:51

Well, I can't wait. Thank

1:25:53

you. Every book

1:25:55

they open, it just says

1:25:57

something like, FAT! BROKE!

1:26:07

Bad back. Ariasus. This

1:26:13

story is weird. Where's

1:26:17

the monsters and the monsters? Yeah,

1:26:21

the only thing Mobster Mash is just the cover.

1:26:23

The rest of it is just being too real

1:26:25

about what's going on. page is printed with big

1:26:27

text. Psoriasis.

1:26:29

Why did I back this project?

1:26:33

Mobster Mash. That's

1:26:35

the first page. Gotcha. Yeah,

1:26:38

and then the next one is just a quote

1:26:41

from Isaac Robertson Smith. This story is weird. From

1:26:45

Boris from X -Men. I don't

1:26:47

know what show I've never

1:26:49

watched. You've never seen from a

1:26:51

show I've never seen. and

1:26:53

will never watch boris boris from

1:26:56

x -men 25 i don't understand

1:26:58

why no one's buying my

1:27:00

book why don't people like my

1:27:02

work i'm an artiste um

1:27:04

yeah is that the next page

1:27:06

why don't people like this

1:27:08

that's the back cover yeah that's

1:27:10

the about the author why

1:27:12

don't you like this why don't

1:27:14

you like why i don't

1:27:16

like it either But

1:27:20

yes, where was I? If

1:27:23

you are an aspiring comic book creator, then you

1:27:25

can sign up to my Patreon and join my

1:27:27

private Discord where I teach people a lot. Not

1:27:29

teach them, but I help you get better at

1:27:31

comic book art. We already have two people that

1:27:33

have broken into the industry, which is fantastic. So

1:27:36

if you're interested in that, you can sign

1:27:38

up at patreon .com slash Will Robson. That's

1:27:40

why it was really nice to hear that

1:27:42

Isaac is doing teaching because I really support

1:27:44

teaching and I really support paying that forward. Go

1:27:49

to speechcomics .com. Well, I said that

1:27:51

already, so never mind. Go there again. Refresh

1:27:53

the page. You said Patreon? I literally

1:27:55

just plugged the Patreon. Learn

1:27:57

how to draw all the outfits. Okay. Next time

1:27:59

I'm going to wear a different shirt, outfit change. Not

1:28:03

a black t -shirt from M &S anymore. It would

1:28:05

have been very funny if we all changed shirts

1:28:07

halfway through this episode and no explanation. Now

1:28:11

we're really going to get the

1:28:13

views. Yeah. That's it. Did you see

1:28:15

the one where they changed shirts?

1:28:17

Oh, bro. I can't believe it. That

1:28:19

was so impressive. I subscribed. That

1:28:23

was for us. It really

1:28:25

worked. Nailed it. And

1:28:28

Isaac, where can our listeners find

1:28:30

you on the socials? You

1:28:32

can find me at IRS Voices

1:28:34

on Instagram. Isaac

1:28:36

Robinson Smith on Facebook, if anybody cares

1:28:38

to check, cares to look, and on

1:28:40

LinkedIn. I use that too. Do

1:28:42

you? Oh, shit. Yeah, I do. I

1:28:44

teach this to my students. It's actually

1:28:47

very useful to get connected with people

1:28:49

that are working on stuff like producers

1:28:51

and people in the creative world that

1:28:53

aren't necessarily directly the actors and all

1:28:55

that stuff. You learn about the other

1:28:57

people in the pipeline of animation and

1:28:59

all that. So, yeah, I'm on LinkedIn.

1:29:01

I'm on Instagram. I am on X.

1:29:03

I don't go on there much, but

1:29:06

I do have an account, so you

1:29:08

can find me there. two if you

1:29:10

like i mean it's called x next

1:29:12

yeah that's right yeah there's a joke

1:29:14

in there somewhere but i'm not gonna

1:29:16

say it because my brother went love

1:29:18

sounds like it would have been a

1:29:20

cracker uh isaac i know you can't

1:29:22

tell us much about x -men 97 season

1:29:24

two yeah yes um again mickey's behind

1:29:27

the door with a gun we heard

1:29:29

him earlier yes but is bishop included

1:29:31

a lot You can't

1:29:33

ask that, bud. What are you doing?

1:29:35

You can't ask these questions. What

1:29:38

can you tell us? All I can

1:29:41

say is I'm excited for season two

1:29:43

and I'm involved. That's all. That's about

1:29:45

as far as I can go. Yeah.

1:29:47

Okay. Yeah. No,

1:29:50

totally understandable. And how many outfit

1:29:52

changes does Bishop have in

1:29:54

the new season? How

1:29:56

impressed are we going to be? Yeah. Where's

1:29:59

my infinity scarf? Hold on. Let

1:30:01

me grab it. People

1:30:04

are going to love the infinity scarf. He

1:30:08

already has that big red handkerchief anyway.

1:30:10

I feel like there could That

1:30:12

has inspired me to draw that on

1:30:14

every character ever. I love a character with

1:30:16

a big... It doesn't matter. Babies, everybody's

1:30:18

got the giant. When I just drew Rocket

1:30:20

Raccoon recently, I was like, yeah, big

1:30:22

scarf. That's cool. Yeah. It's in.

1:30:26

Well, I can't wait to see it

1:30:28

when it comes out. And I always

1:30:30

love seeing when you pop up in

1:30:32

things. So thank you so much for

1:30:35

joining. And thanks for listening to the

1:30:37

show, man. Oh, man. Yeah. I mean,

1:30:39

I'll reflect what everybody else has said,

1:30:41

that it just is a bright spot.

1:30:43

to a lot of things going on

1:30:45

especially right now um and continually as

1:30:47

i mentioned multiple times the center point

1:30:49

of my girlfriend and ice humor is

1:30:51

centers around the bits from this show

1:30:53

so happy that you guys exist uh

1:30:56

have you incorporated nah into anything not

1:30:58

yet no we will though yeah yeah

1:31:00

no i think i think the most

1:31:02

frequent one one of the most frequent

1:31:04

ones is still When you said you

1:31:06

could have been rich like me, we

1:31:08

put like me and everything or the

1:31:10

word me on anything or too much.

1:31:12

So much. The word much is anything

1:31:14

from that particular video with Hugo Strange.

1:31:17

It's still anytime we see crepes anywhere.

1:31:19

You guys come up. It's not it's

1:31:21

not the show that you love. It's

1:31:23

that one clip. Let's be honest. Yeah.

1:31:25

That one clip. No, I hate you guys. The

1:31:27

rest of it sucks. I really like my. Me

1:31:32

and my pet name for

1:31:34

each other is Lester. We've called

1:31:36

that ever since we saw

1:31:38

a YouTube video of a woman

1:31:40

telling off her husband for

1:31:42

not telling off a parrot. The

1:31:44

parrot's name was not Lester.

1:31:46

It was the husband. And

1:31:49

like ever since we saw this funny

1:31:51

video like 12 years ago, we call each

1:31:53

other Lester. So I get it. I'm

1:31:55

sorry to say that you're going to hear

1:31:57

crepes for the rest of your life.

1:31:59

Yeah, right. That's great. you

1:32:01

know but like crepes yeah no no everything

1:32:03

is great i mean i i still keep

1:32:06

up on all the videos that are on

1:32:08

instagram the compilations and everything so yeah just

1:32:10

in general thank you guys for having me

1:32:12

and for letting me be in on seeing

1:32:14

how it all happens you know full episode

1:32:16

yeah absolutely yeah it was awesome to have

1:32:18

you well that's all the time we've got

1:32:20

for this week join us next time while

1:32:23

we'll continue talking all things batman the animated

1:32:25

series until then i've been alex robson i've

1:32:27

been will robson and isaac robinson smith And

1:32:29

remember that we are Vengeance, we

1:32:31

are the night, we are a

1:32:33

podcast. Toodles! I

1:32:50

will just briefly say, I won't go

1:32:52

into immense detail, but I've been on a

1:32:54

stricter diet recently and upped my protein.

1:32:56

And I think because I've been having a

1:32:58

lot of lactose and like, you know,

1:33:00

like Greek yogurt and stuff like that. I

1:33:02

have just been running to the toilet

1:33:04

a lot today. And I almost like an

1:33:06

hour before this, I was shit my

1:33:08

brains out. And I was like, am I

1:33:10

going to make it? Just

1:33:13

let us know if you need to pause this at any

1:33:15

point and just head out. Do you have

1:33:17

a safe word to let us know if you need to

1:33:20

get off the screen? I need a shirt. That's a

1:33:22

safe one. Yeah, that's it. Just

1:33:24

screaming it. The

1:33:26

terrible deuce. He

1:33:28

needs multiple crepes. All

1:33:31

of them. But they

1:33:33

taste so good. Not these

1:33:35

ones. Not for

1:33:37

eating. The crap crepes.

1:33:40

I was going to say, more like

1:33:42

craps. yeah um so you're

1:33:44

i mean we'll probably talk we probably

1:33:46

already talked about this on the pub but

1:33:48

you're everywhere these days man you're like

1:33:50

cons your voice is like everywhere it's been

1:33:52

fun i have really i mean one

1:33:54

of the best parts i mean what you've

1:33:56

seen is the x -men stuff has been

1:33:59

like really opening up a lot of

1:34:01

opportunity to see people because we've been you

1:34:03

know we're alone in a room forever

1:34:05

and we don't necessarily get to see that

1:34:07

with the results of what we do

1:34:09

is but now we're seeing like people are

1:34:11

resent uh resonating with the show and

1:34:13

wanting to know what happens and cause playing

1:34:15

and yeah it's it's great um but

1:34:17

yeah you're at wonder con right yeah wonder

1:34:20

con and then um on wednesday i'm

1:34:22

leaving for c2e2 for the first time so

1:34:24

i'm excited about that i need to

1:34:26

get my host to all of these proper

1:34:28

connections It's fun. Yeah. And apparently

1:34:30

Saturday is sold out. So that means a good crowd

1:34:32

will be there, which is nice. And I haven't

1:34:34

been to Chicago to really see it before. So I'm

1:34:36

excited about that. That's great. But yeah,

1:34:38

lots of things happening. Some

1:34:41

I can't talk about yet, but I'm excited.

1:34:43

But more Marvel stuff, which has been nice. And

1:34:45

yeah. Oh, I should have asked you that

1:34:47

before we started recording. Be like, tell me everything

1:34:49

you can't say on the radio. Yeah, yeah.

1:34:51

No, it's okay. I'm

1:34:53

aware of the Marvel laser pointer that's

1:34:55

always pointed directly at me, so I

1:34:57

won't say anything I can. yeah

1:35:00

no it's but it's been really good

1:35:02

but thanks for thanks for asking about that

1:35:04

it's been great i've been enjoying yeah

1:35:06

no it's it's been cool to see as

1:35:08

well on social media just been following

1:35:11

all the things you've been doing and yeah

1:35:13

i'm really excited every time you you

1:35:15

show up in something i'm like oh great

1:35:17

that's isaac oh yeah yeah you said

1:35:19

proud parent earlier that made me feel good

1:35:21

so thank you for uh being my

1:35:23

parental uh guidance in this experience you owe

1:35:25

your career to us so yes that's

1:35:27

that's why i'm here That's why I'm here

1:35:29

today is to properly thank both of

1:35:31

you for the exponential growth. very welcome. You're

1:35:34

welcome, Boris. exponential growth? Yo!

1:35:38

Good night, everybody. yeah

1:35:41

we we didn't even watch

1:35:43

x -men much as kids either yeah

1:35:45

i still haven't finished your

1:35:47

series yeah terrible this is where

1:35:49

the truth comes out that's great

1:35:51

it's in the post credits it's

1:35:53

where yeah exactly right yeah um

1:35:55

all right well we guys

1:35:57
