Last week, I had a great two hour “Leading Like You Own It” session with a leadership group that is hungry for growth and improvement in Rogers, Arkansas. I was humbled by the feedback and look forward to positive progress reports in the future.
This was the first class where I actively involved the attendees in building the ideal “Leadership Toolbox.” It was a great success.
The following items were presented to the attendees;
The attendees had to choose to place each item in the ‘Leadership Toolkit” or the Trash. I’m sure that a few may have felt a little hypocritical as they shouted “trash can” on an item used on a regular basis.
I then reversed all the items and placed the items from the trash in the “Leadership Toolbox.” I removed all the “good” items from the toolbox. Managers and supervisors with nothing but the “trash items” are walking around every day in many companies and organizations.
These managers and supervisors are also successful in many things;
My seminar is NOT a group hug. If you have the “trash items” in your “Leadership Toolbox” or if you allow your team to use these items, you are a liability to your organization. This can be changed but it involves humility, drawing a line in the sand and a culture change. These are all discussed in our program.
I would love to share “Leading Like You Own It” with your leadership team. It is a two hour session packed with great content based on real life successes and failures. It is NOT module 1-8 delivered by a public speaker. See LeadingLikeYouOwnIt.com for more information. We have one of these scheduled in Mobile, Alabama on 8-13-14 from 10AM-Noon. Click HERE for more information and to register.
The “Leadership Toolbox” is also a vital part of our New Leader Boot Camp scheduled for October 1st and 2nd in Little Rock Arkansas. Click HERE for more information and to register.
If you have these “trash items” in your leadership team, seek change. If not with us, please pursue the change somewhere. Livelihoods are at stake. Are there other good items or trash items I could include?
