Welcome to the Ghost Bunny Podcast. I'm

0:02

your host Bridgette Marquart. Throughout my life,

0:04

I have made it my goal to

0:07

explore haunted locations in an attempt to

0:09

justify to myself the existence of ghosts.

0:11

I want to use this podcast as

0:13

an opportunity to chat with people about

0:15

their paranormal experiences, explore haunted locations that

0:18

I've always dreamed of going to and

0:20

revisiting legendary locations with a new perspective

0:22

all while infusing these explorations with expert

0:24

commentary and insight from industry professionals. And

0:27

don't forget to subscribe to Ghost Bunny

0:29

Podcast. When

0:33

the sun abandons her post and

0:36

the shadows begin to

0:38

breathe, our world is changed.

0:41

Familiar places have become thin

0:44

and have let the darkness in. The

0:49

old shack where beastly forms now

0:52

lie in wait. The

0:55

doorway that invites smiling yet

0:58

sinister visitors. The

1:01

abandoned place of worship where

1:03

an ancient darkness has taken

1:05

root. But

1:08

sometimes, sometimes a comforting

1:10

hand slips through that veil

1:13

and takes hold of yours to guard

1:15

you from the dark. These

1:18

are the places forgotten

1:20

or unnoticed, but

1:22

lie just on the edge of

1:25

the belief hole. Sc

1:29

cement was opened in the second ceiling, which

1:31

Composites flap

1:34

your head close to the ceiling, means

1:36

it turns into a wandering of snakes and ghosts.

1:38

This is where it comes all the time. It

1:41

was an framework helping people

1:43

find a safe and secure

1:46

1:50

1:52

Arguments, and

1:58

their own Israelpt spirits after the change disappearances,

2:00

sky whale phenomenon, alternative history, shadow

2:02

people. Quiet, I'm trying to say

2:04

words of the mouth. It's getting

2:06

dicey out there. Poltergeist. Oh, that's

2:08

cool and unlucky. What is the

2:10

moon? Hehehehe. Elf towers. I would

2:12

never talk about that. That's old.

2:14

Y2K. Cover-ups. Apocalyptic

2:17

catastrophe. Vampire.

2:20

Vampire. Well,

2:24

hello, hello. Hi. Hello,

2:27

hello, gentlemen. I'm Chris. And

2:30

I'm Jeremy. And we are the Brothers of

2:33

the Believable podcasts. Yes, we are. And it is good

2:35

to be back with you in the hole. How's

2:37

it going? It's going good. And

2:39

Chris, are you excited about today's episode? I'm

2:42

excited for this episode. I think, John, you

2:44

are too. You've already been working on these

2:46

stories. So you know how awesome some of

2:48

these stories are. Yeah, they're definitely approved by

2:50

the Midnight Society. They sure would

2:52

be. No, there are some pretty creepy ones. Oh,

2:55

yeah, there are. I'm excited to jump

2:57

right in. Yes, this is

2:59

one of our strange listeners' stories. Actually, a strange

3:01

listener's story is 29. And

3:08

on this episode, we've got chimney sweep visitors.

3:13

Dark synagogues. The

3:15

Toodaloo Man, which is pretty

3:18

great, pretty creepy. The Toodaloo Man. I'm sorry,

3:20

the Toodaloo Man of Coeur d'Alene. And

3:22

the parallel worlds of Dr. Pepper.

3:27

Makes you wonder. So you'll be wondering for a bit, because that's

3:29

at the end. But that's one of my favorite stories I think

3:31

we've ever had. So this is going to be

3:33

a really fun episode. Did you say The Protector? Oh, and

3:35

The Protector. Yes. That's one of my favorite stories I've heard

3:37

in a long time. Really, it's hard.

3:39

Yeah. And guys, if you haven't seen

3:41

it or heard it yet, we just dropped our

3:44

new line of merch. Yes. Yes. Which

3:46

we're super excited about. Got some really great designs

3:48

up there. You can wear it. You can drink

3:50

out of it. All kinds of different products with

3:52

relief hole, swag, and. Jeremy,

3:54

how would I access those products? If

3:57

I were you, John, I would either click the link in the

3:59

description of this. Video or audio episode

4:01

or go to bleeffel.com and just click

4:03

on the merch button Sweet

4:05

in the navigation bar. Yeah, so we're super excited

4:07

about it. People seem to love the designs It's

4:10

been a long time coming. Absolutely sure has been

4:12

I love it because we've got a lot of

4:14

inside references that we weren't sure We're gonna have

4:16

time to include those designs But we have like

4:18

a starved or ghouls shirt also available as a

4:20

coaster or a mug also camp creep Lee a

4:24

Lot of people have been wanting that yeah, of course you got a dog

4:27

man in there Definitely some new

4:29

stuff coming to downline. Well, we keep adding

4:31

stuff over time But absolutely now that we

4:33

get that all figured out go enjoy those

4:35

product go enjoy more of the whole Yes,

4:39

spread the whole with the clothes you wear.

4:41

Awesome. What's gonna be our first story guys?

4:43

I'm excited to just be embraced by these

4:45

creepy tales Ah, yes, the first

4:47

story John you want to introduce this one and

4:49

I do have a question about this selection that

4:51

you selected John did you pick the story because

4:53

the listener who submitted this was named Alan

4:56

I didn't read that until the very end Synchronicity

4:58

that's awesome. It's definitely a little bit

5:01

synchronic. That's the name of your dog.

5:03

It's true His name is Alan

5:06

which is a great dog name. Don't judge me.

5:08

That's a great name. He's such a sweet boy

5:10

Alan can't wait to meet him. Anyways, I don't

5:13

know if I'm very good at introducing stories because

5:15

I don't really know what to say This

5:17

is a story about a man Yes,

5:19

yeah, this story was really fascinating and

5:22

it's uh to settle it briefly. It's

5:24

about a boy experiencing

5:26

visitations Regularly by a

5:28

strange sort of archetype that

5:31

might sound familiar yet with very unique

5:34

attributes, there's almost a ritualistic

5:36

nature to these visitations and Very

5:38

interesting. Let's take a listen This

5:41

comes to us from Alan as we said and this

5:43

happened around pre-dawn 1974

5:46

in Tucson, Arizona I

5:53

Have been wanting to share an account I had

5:55

as a kid But every time I go to

5:57

either voice record or write what happened I

5:59

stop It's as if

6:01

I don't want to breathe thought or credence back into

6:04

an encounter with something I tried to keep out of

6:06

my mind. I wonder how

6:08

many other people have their own stories, but

6:11

stop short of revisiting by recounting

6:13

an unsettling experience. Seems

6:16

to me the phenomena is much more prevalent than

6:18

we've been led to believe. Since

6:20

I've written it this far, I'll try to continue.

6:25

I'm 56 years old but I still have

6:27

quite a vivid recollection of what happened to me

6:29

when I was between 5 and 6 years old.

6:32

People often talk about sleep paralysis and the

6:34

various things that often accompany it. Though

6:37

I used to have that awful stuck

6:39

feeling trying to will myself to wiggle

6:41

out of it, it never included any

6:43

apparitions or the like. The

6:45

quote, frozen, awake thing for

6:48

me was mostly associated with

6:50

insomnia. Very unpleasant, but no

6:52

spooky stuff that I can remember. It

6:55

doesn't happen anymore. I used to

6:57

have disappeared in my adult years. What

6:59

I experienced always happened to dawn,

7:02

early morning. There are a

7:04

few reasons I remember it so well. The

7:07

memory that stands out the most is me

7:09

between 5-6 years old, in bed,

7:11

or rather upon waking and

7:13

sitting on the edge of the bed,

7:15

thawing out. The

7:19

house was always quiet. Family was

7:21

either not awake or not making any noise. Whatever

7:24

this was, I have never been able

7:26

to characterize it as a dream. We've

7:31

all had nightmares. This wasn't one

7:33

of them as it's something I have only

7:35

spoken once about since it happened and in

7:37

confidence to a buddy in my mid to

7:39

late 20s. I

7:41

never told my parents, nor any childhood

7:43

friends from the days it happened. So

7:46

this is what it consisted of. The

7:48

first time it happened, I was sitting on the edge of

7:51

my bed, with my legs dangling

7:53

over the side, feet not touching the

7:55

floor. Why this detail

7:57

is so clear will become evident later in the

7:59

story. I remember the room

8:01

barely filling with that pre-dawn or even

8:03

a start of sunlight creeping into the

8:06

room through the blinds. Without

8:09

any sound, a very tall

8:12

man, very slender, walked

8:15

in my room from outside the door. No

8:19

sound. Very tall, very

8:21

thin, dressed in black

8:24

clothes. Sort

8:27

of tattered as I could interpret at that time.

8:30

Nothing about it was natural in appearance. He

8:33

wore a top hat, like either

8:35

a stovepipe type or something out of the

8:37

late 1800s. It

8:40

has always struck me as a classic chimney

8:42

sweep type suit, and that's what I

8:44

use in my mind to articulate it. His

8:46

skin was bright pale white. His

8:49

hands and his face, very white.

8:52

Nothing you would see in everyday life. This

8:55

is where it gets hard to continue. His

8:57

eyes were big and wide open, and

9:00

he had a very wide sort of

9:02

toothy smile. I

9:05

don't know if the eyes had any

9:07

color, but they had a wide, intentional

9:09

look. I'm not sure if it

9:12

was sinister, or just what you

9:14

would call an excited expression on his

9:16

face. Either way,

9:18

I know I didn't like it at all. Instead

9:21

of yelling or reacting, I froze, didn't

9:24

make a sound. It,

9:27

not he, I should say, came

9:30

in with long strides, and

9:33

very quickly. If

9:36

I close my eyes, and I did every

9:38

time, it came up close

9:40

to my face, looking right at me. I

9:45

don't think it ever touched me. This

9:47

pale white face phantom, or

9:49

whatever it was, is to this day

9:52

what I envision when someone says, the

9:54

boogeyman. I

9:58

remember from that time as a fire. I

10:01

didn't have any frame of reference for what

10:03

this thing was. I

10:05

know we were never exposed to scary movies until

10:07

much later. Whatever

10:09

it was, it filled me with

10:11

extreme anxiety and trepidation. Enough

10:14

for me to stay silent and not move when

10:16

it happened. Didn't make any

10:18

outward gestures or any other

10:21

faces except that exaggerated grin. It

10:24

did come close to my face. These

10:27

encounters were brief. When I

10:29

closed my eyes, forever long, it

10:31

would then run out of the room the same way

10:33

it came in. It

10:36

had very thin, long arms and

10:38

legs. I would sit for

10:40

a moment as the fright or fear settled down. Sometimes

10:43

I would lay back down for a moment. Other

10:45

times I would leave the bedroom as soon

10:48

as this episode concluded. I

10:50

didn't go to tell my parents for some reason. I don't

10:53

know why I didn't tell them. I just buttoned up.

10:56

I would join the rest of the family in whatever

10:58

was going on in that time before breakfast in the

11:00

morning. I tried to keep it out

11:02

of my head as kids do when they experienced

11:04

something unsettling. As I recall,

11:06

that is when I began my indifference to sitting

11:08

on the edge of my bed upon waking. Since

11:11

this thing seemed to pop into my room to

11:13

stare and grin at me, it

11:16

was more often than not when I was hanging my

11:18

legs off the side of the bed at dawn. From

11:22

that point on, when I would wake up, I

11:24

would not linger in my room. I

11:26

would get out of bed and intentionally

11:29

refrain from sitting on that bed's edge

11:31

into my adult years, pretty much to

11:33

this day. I do not sit

11:35

up on the edge of the bed while falling out in

11:37

the morning. The imprint in

11:39

my mind has always been not to

11:41

do so, because that was when this

11:43

chimney sweep would run in and smile

11:45

scare me. Sounds

11:48

ridiculous, I know. I have never told anyone

11:50

about the bed edge thing until now sharing

11:52

it with you. The

11:55

chimney sweep phantom appeared in solid

11:57

form, not translucent to me. didn't

12:00

float or any of that. It jangled

12:02

into my room from the door always

12:04

and exited the same, never

12:07

any sound nor any

12:09

outward communication. This

12:11

phenomena happened a few times, mostly in

12:13

the same way, with little variations except

12:15

once or twice when it would walk

12:17

to the edge of my bed and

12:19

bend over to look directly at me

12:22

as I closed my eyes to wish it away. If I

12:25

didn't sit up and hag my legs off

12:28

the bed, it was almost as if I

12:30

was breaking the rules of conduct of its

12:32

ritual. I

12:35

don't know why I don't chalk this

12:37

up as the nightmares of a young

12:39

child. This circumstance just struck me as

12:41

happening in the physical world. It

12:43

didn't happen in the context of my usual

12:45

dreams, nor did it happen with

12:47

the times I had a sleep paralysis. It

12:52

only happened while we lived at this one

12:54

particular home that we moved away from about

12:56

a year or so later. It

12:58

never happened after that, nor at the new home.

13:01

Maybe it was something attached to that specific

13:03

space or house. I don't know. Thankfully

13:05

it didn't follow me. I don't

13:08

regard these experiences as a trauma.

13:11

They don't seem to affect me that way. I

13:13

never had nightmares about it. I

13:15

don't even know if it had any implied

13:17

ill intent. Maybe it was an

13:19

errant spirit, but it didn't go to any

13:21

further lengths to mess with me. Though I

13:24

regarded the memories of this experience as frightening

13:26

and something I'd just as soon forget. Definitely

13:28

not something I wanted to ponder with any

13:30

frequency, lest I give it possible energy to

13:33

return. I don't

13:35

think we ever had our chimney cleaned

13:38

and I don't know why the characterization

13:40

of an 1800s tattered clothed chimney sweep

13:42

is what manifested. Another

13:46

interesting thing about this, the

13:48

one time I shared some of the stories when

13:50

I was out of college working at a bar

13:52

and I know I was 30 years old. This

13:54

was in 1997, so pretty much pre-internet, at least

13:56

for me. A bartender buddy of mine

13:58

and I were talking to him. working after closing

14:00

at one of the many late night

14:02

occasions that bar folk used to decompress

14:04

after a long night. Many

14:07

years later, he had moved away but we still

14:09

kept in touch. Around 2008,

14:12

I get a call from my friend John. He

14:16

asked me about the time I told him about

14:18

the chimney-sweet boogie man that I had described to

14:20

him. He said that an

14:22

employee of his restaurant was telling him about

14:24

the time as a young girl she was

14:26

visited by something that had almost the exact

14:28

same description, something that terrified

14:31

her. She

14:33

also said it wasn't in the dream state, also

14:35

the same age range, 5-7 years old. He

14:39

thought it was unusual enough and a weird

14:41

coincidence to what I had shared all those

14:43

years ago. He also told

14:45

me that she said others had shared

14:47

similar accounts on what is now the

14:49

online community. I decided to search

14:52

for such a thing a few times. I

14:54

really don't seek to anymore. Reason

14:56

being, I did find more than

14:58

one post of people who describe

15:00

nearly the exact same tall skinny

15:02

pale being in a top hat

15:04

and black suit. I

15:07

can only make a guess that whatever this thing

15:09

is, it feeds on fear. And

15:13

at that age, fear of the innocent.

15:16

Just my opinion. Anyway, I'm

15:18

glad I wrote all this down. I hesitated

15:20

many times over the years. I

15:22

really appreciate what you guys do with the podcast.

15:25

Very best regards, Alan. Thank

15:29

you, Alan. We appreciate you sharing, Alan. Thanks

15:32

for the nightmare. That was

15:34

terrifying. Yeah, definitely feels

15:36

like I've seen that movie. It

15:39

feels like something that almost reminds me of the

15:41

Babadook, just the description of a little bit.

15:43

Yeah. Long strides. Yeah.

15:47

Very quickly, no noise, no communication,

15:49

just staring and smiling. The

15:51

worst. With the how to describe

15:53

it as a jagged teeth or sharp teeth,

15:55

toothy grin. Long toothy smile. He

15:58

did say that he. he wasn't

16:01

exposed to scary movies until much later.

16:03

So whatever this was, wasn't

16:05

influenced by anything in his life,

16:07

it seems like. Yeah, in the

16:10

media. Yeah, this would have been like, this

16:12

happened in 74. Yeah. So

16:14

yeah, pre a lot of the horror, at least

16:16

the pop culture horror stuff. I would say too,

16:18

it's interesting to consider the idea that a lot

16:20

of stuff we do see in fiction,

16:23

horror fiction like the Babadook, is

16:25

that these ideas could manifest because other

16:27

people are experiencing something similar. And

16:30

so I think that's a really interesting point to Alan or

16:32

things like that where it's fictional, but

16:35

it comes from maybe a place of real experience that

16:37

people have had. Definitely a creepy story.

16:40

Yeah. And we're glad you're turned out okay,

16:42

Alan. I think it's interesting that he sat

16:44

up on the end of his bed, like that's when he would experience it.

16:47

Like he said, it wouldn't come when he wouldn't do that as

16:49

if it was some part of its ritual. I thought

16:51

that was an interesting point. Yeah. It's like,

16:54

ooh, he's awake, let's go. Yeah, almost like in that hypnagogic,

16:56

if you're still kind of waking up a little bit, versus

16:58

it's interesting it didn't happen to him the

17:01

hat man, for instance. And it dawned, always

17:03

it dawned. Feels ritualistic too. Yeah, not

17:06

3 a.m. But yes, dangly legs, definitely

17:08

one of the most vulnerable positions you

17:10

can have. Feel like it's a child

17:12

in your bedroom. Dangly legs. Yes, thank

17:14

you for sharing that story. Absolutely. Frightening,

17:16

good way to start this listener stories

17:18

episode. What's

17:21

next, Christopher? Oh, what is next?

17:23

This is a- Do you want to do the

17:25

protector next? Yes, this is a really, really unique

17:27

story. It's got nice family vibes.

17:30

Yeah. And some pretty, I mean, comically dark in

17:32

some spots, it would make a good dark comedy.

17:34

Also very sweet. Yeah, I want to just kind

17:36

of want to give her a hug. Yeah, seriously.

17:38

It's your heart right in the heart towards the

17:40

end. So it's one of those kind of potentially

17:43

a very sweet haunting, so. She's such a

17:45

sweet voice too. She really does. You

17:47

feel what she's feeling. So her heart's got

17:50

to anonymous, we know her name, but she asked not

17:52

to be shared for reasons she will tell in her

17:54

account. So this is called

17:56

the protector. Hello, I've

17:58

just got a bit of a personal- story so

18:00

I do want to stay anonymous. I'm

18:02

one of four children, I'm the second

18:04

oldest and when I was 12

18:07

my father passed away. My

18:09

younger sister she travels a lot,

18:12

she's really beautiful, she's a model recently

18:15

she was in LA and she said that she

18:17

was at a party and

18:24

some creepy guy was

18:26

harassing her, following around, wouldn't

18:29

stop bothering her. And

18:31

then apparently something unseen

18:34

tried to push him out the window and

18:38

he really freaked out and

18:40

he went home after that and

18:43

then someone said to my sister,

18:46

they said that they were like spiritually sensitive and they

18:48

said to my sister is your

18:50

father's name this name and it

18:52

wasn't my father's name but it rhymed with my

18:54

father's name like it was quite close. My

18:57

dad's got a quite unusual name and

18:59

my sister was like no but like it's this

19:01

it's like quite close to that and

19:04

then the person said well your

19:06

dad's watching over you and he's

19:08

protecting you and then my sister

19:10

thought about the unseen thing that

19:12

tried to push some guy out the window at

19:14

the party. Anyway my sister

19:16

was telling me this I didn't take

19:19

it very seriously because my sister she

19:22

can exaggerate, I love

19:24

her but she's a little bit of an

19:26

unreliable narrator so like I wasn't sure how

19:29

much of the story to take seriously.

19:31

We grew up in a

19:33

haunted house though it had like demons in it.

19:38

So like I've seen spiritual things

19:41

but then I

19:43

realized that for

19:47

the last like 10 years

19:50

on and off sometimes

19:53

I wake up in

19:56

the night and my

19:58

hand is like suspicious. bended in

20:01

the air, not up very high, but just

20:03

like if someone was next to my bed

20:06

holding it, it's

20:08

the weirdest feeling because it's like my hands are

20:10

not up on its own, like there's something holding

20:12

it there, but I can't feel anything, I can't

20:14

feel what's holding it there, I

20:17

can't feel the pressure, it

20:19

just feels like air but it's being held, very

20:22

weird feeling. And

20:24

then I just, I usually like just like pray

20:27

and like go back to sleep, it's never scared

20:29

me, it's

20:32

just wakes me up because I'm a light sleeper, but

20:34

I don't think it's meaning to wake me up. And

20:37

I think what I've

20:39

just realized is like,

20:45

because it's like it's holding my hand when I'm

20:47

sleeping, and like a

20:49

few times I've woken up as my hand

20:51

just is being lifted very gently, and

20:54

I really don't think the intention is to

20:56

wake me up, but

21:00

just thinking about it, like

21:04

there's no other haunted house

21:06

things going on, there's

21:09

no nightmares, there's no footsteps, there's no,

21:11

there's nothing, just sometimes in the night

21:13

my hand gets suspended a little bit

21:15

up as if someone's next to my

21:17

bed holding my hand, and

21:20

I'm just thinking who else

21:22

would do that? And

21:24

not try to scare me, not try to communicate

21:27

with me, not even try to wake me up,

21:29

but who else would do that but my dad? Yeah.

21:37

So, it's a

21:39

bit of an unbearable thought, and

21:41

I don't wanna tell my siblings because it will make them

21:43

cry. But

21:45

I just thought that, yeah, your podcast

21:47

has got anything that would appreciate a

21:50

story like that. Yeah,

21:52

I think he wasn't the

21:54

best dad, my dad either. He

21:57

had, he was fighting, he's demons when he...

21:59

He was alive. So he

22:01

loved us, but he wasn't a good father. He

22:04

wasn't the best dad. And I think he knows

22:06

that. And I just feel like he's

22:08

sorry. Yeah,

22:11

anyway, that's my story. Thanks

22:14

for listening. Thank you

22:16

so much for sharing that. Make me cry. Yeah,

22:19

seriously. Very moving. Such an intimate

22:21

story. Yeah. I think

22:23

it is your dad. Yeah. Personally, that's

22:26

because I believe that our relatives are

22:28

around us after they pass on. I'm

22:30

sure he wants to make it up to you. It

22:33

definitely sounds like that kind of piece of unfinished business

22:35

that someone might hang around a little while before

22:37

moving on. Also, it sounded like she mentioned that

22:39

she did grow up in a haunted house that

22:41

had dark entities present there. It

22:44

makes me wonder like maybe he was there

22:46

to protect her, not just her sister from

22:48

creepy guys at parties, but also maybe like

22:50

some things that were in the home. Maybe

22:52

that was part of his purpose for staying

22:54

around. Yeah, perhaps. Well, yeah, thank you so

22:56

much for that story. A moving story. Yeah.

22:58

Thank you for sharing. Guess you're in that throat tickle, you know?

23:01

Right where you're like, I don't want to cry too. I

23:03

think she's a kiwi. You think? I

23:06

don't know where you got that from. Oh, the accent.

23:09

Oh, it's the accent. Oh, okay. That makes sense.

23:11

All right. You guys ready for another? Yeah, don't

23:13

make me cry with the next one, Chris. Let's

23:16

do the Tootaloo Man. Oh,

23:21

yes. No crying in this one.

23:23

No. Unless they're tears of fear. Yes,

23:26

great band. Tears for fears. Yes,

23:28

yes. Yes,

23:31

this account needs little introduction, but let's

23:33

just say there is an entity. Actually,

23:36

kind of runs me a little bit of

23:38

our first account with the chimney sweep as

23:40

far as the grin. A lot of creeps

23:43

running around out there. Yeah. Again, another sort

23:45

of boogeyman. This cast of characters we've come

23:47

across in the Bleeff-Holes. Pretty creepy, you know.

23:49

Big Bird, imposter entities, Purple Mommies. Purple

23:52

Mommie. No one can forget the Purple Mommies.

23:54

Don't say your name. This comes

23:56

to us from Devin Taylor. And this

23:58

happened decades ago. in

24:00

Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, introducing what

24:03

we call the Toodaloo Man.

24:07

I've seen plenty of unexplainable things growing up,

24:09

here and there, all the way up to

24:11

the current day. For me

24:13

it's not a matter of if something weird is going

24:15

to happen, but when. I've

24:18

seen shadows dart between tombstones at

24:21

night, hooded cloaks running down

24:23

one hallway through the kitchen and into the

24:25

laundry room. A

24:27

white silhouette of a man jogging

24:29

down the sidewalk, during one of

24:31

the worst Arizona thunderstorms you can

24:33

imagine, and

24:36

even a UFO over Lake Coeur d'Alene.

24:39

Seemingly random, isolated events all

24:41

throughout my life, but

24:43

there is one constant. The

24:45

figures that appear in my room at night. The

24:51

first time I saw one, I was only 13 give or

24:53

take. I was living

24:56

in the mountains of Coeur d'Alene with my grandparents

24:58

and my dad. I slept

25:00

in a corner room of the house,

25:02

closest to our long driveway, down a

25:04

hill with rows of trees on either

25:06

side that stretched out forever. My

25:09

window looked out towards that driveway, and

25:11

I was always unnerved at night, fearing

25:13

something was watching me. I

25:16

kept my blinds closed. My

25:19

bed was in the corner of the room, and

25:21

that night I was sleeping on my left side,

25:24

facing the rest of the room towards that

25:26

window. I don't remember why I

25:28

woke up, only that I

25:30

did, and instead of seeing the usual

25:32

sight of my bedroom window and TV,

25:35

I was greeted by something sinister and

25:37

unnatural. Whatever

25:39

this thing was, it was darker than dark.

25:42

It was hunched over, maybe squatting right in

25:44

front of me, its face eye

25:46

level with me as I laid there. I

25:49

couldn't make out any features of its face aside

25:51

from one. It was

25:53

smiling, and

25:56

its right hand was waving at me

25:58

with long pointy fingers. like

26:01

a tootaloo wave. I

26:05

can't explain why I did what I did next. I

26:08

rolled over, faced the wall, and

26:10

went back to sleep. Just

26:15

like that, I could move. I had

26:18

no fear, and I have no idea what made

26:20

me decide that I could just roll over and

26:22

go back to sleep like that. I

26:25

just woke up in the morning and thought, huh?

26:28

That was pretty freaky. Sleep

26:31

paralysis? Maybe. That

26:34

was just the first time it happened. Thanks

26:36

for giving me a chance to put this out there. I

26:39

have more first-hand stories, some from

26:41

my grandparents. My dad had

26:43

some wild UFO encounters, and my wife, if

26:45

you can believe this, actually sees ghosts. I

26:49

tried to take her on a walk through a cemetery at night once.

26:51

It did not go well. Anyways,

26:55

thank you all. God bless. Cliffhanger.

27:01

Thank you for that. Again with the smiling.

27:04

I liked what our first listener said about

27:06

the when

27:09

I wouldn't dangle my legs, it wouldn't smile scare me. I

27:14

like that term. I forgot about that. Smile

27:17

scare. That was a weird part

27:19

of the first story too, a ritual that has

27:21

a weird childhood memory. It

27:25

is just so strange. You're like, what? I

27:29

don't know. It's super creepy. I picked it because

27:31

it reminded me of the first one. A

27:34

little corroborative. It's also

27:36

weird. A person just

27:39

decided to flip over and go

27:41

back to sleep. He

27:43

wasn't afraid. I was

27:45

going to say, how many times do we hear

27:47

this? Almost like they're in a weird trance. It

27:51

just reminds me of some sort of supernatural

27:53

anesthesia. You're just in

27:55

this kind of twilight state where you can

27:58

just calmly roll back over. go to sleep.

28:00

It's like a demonic

28:02

colonoscopy or something. But you're not

28:05

concerned for some reason until

28:07

later when you remember what happened. It's like

28:09

being bitten by a mosquito that you can't

28:11

feel when it goes in your arm. Exactly.

28:13

Oh yeah. Venom. You're like,

28:16

where did that come from? That scratchy itchy

28:18

bite. Yeah, very weird.

28:20

Another childhood sort of weird

28:23

memory. Whatever these supernatural beings

28:25

are seem to like the

28:27

innocent, that's for sure. Although

28:29

the first story Alan talked

28:31

about the feeding off of the fear thing

28:33

that we talked about a lot. Right. And this

28:35

one was, it's like the opposite. There

28:37

was no fear. Yeah, it's weird too. Like

28:40

how sometimes as I was saying, like the

28:42

cast of characters thing, like this is like

28:44

a big variety of these strange things, specifically

28:46

for kids at that age, this coming of

28:48

age time. Collect them all. And

28:50

the first story, the chimney sweep, it

28:52

reminds me of like a very macabre

28:54

version of Dick Van Dyke's character in

28:58

Mary Poppins. Yeah. Just like

29:00

that. Moving in quick, dirty chimney sweep

29:02

man. But just reminds me of that.

29:04

You get the big bird thing, all the imposter entities. I

29:07

don't know, it just occurred to me. But yeah,

29:09

creepy stuff. I would love to hear more of his

29:12

stories, Devon's stories, because he kind of quickly

29:14

went through a couple that I wanted to

29:16

know more about. They saw a ghost jogger

29:18

in the rain. During an

29:20

Arizona torrential thunderstorm. Yeah. Like that's

29:22

something I want to look into

29:24

more. Seeing ghosts in the

29:26

storm. Like that's such a haunting phrase.

29:29

Ghosts in the storm. Do we have another story like

29:31

that? We do. We're not

29:33

doing it on this episode, but interesting. That's

29:35

a kind of cool concept. Yeah. But yeah, we

29:37

should definitely start naming these things. I feel like

29:39

we need to have a cast of characters that

29:41

we can point out and identify so that when

29:43

more and more people have experiences, if there are

29:45

specific things like the chimney sweeper or this entity,

29:47

if there are things you can point out that

29:50

are like, okay, this is a very distinct characteristic

29:52

of this entity or appearance of phantasm, then you

29:54

can start to corroborate more. What was the popcorn

29:56

guy? Oh, Dr.

29:59

Orville, Orville Red Orville Rittenbacher. We had

30:01

two different people send that in. Their

30:03

own experiences with super creepy. Several people

30:05

send in experiences with Orville Rittenbacher or

30:07

his, you know, his dark version. His

30:09

likeness. His likeness. I wouldn't put it

30:11

on him. The Nega-bacher. Unless

30:14

he made a deal with the devil to

30:16

become super successful in popping corn. Good Lord.

30:18

We had the Quaker steak in Oats, man.

30:20

Remember that story? That could have been a

30:23

Quaker, an actual Quaker ghost. But yeah,

30:25

thank you for sharing that story. As

30:28

we head into the creepy season. Yes.

30:30

This is

30:32

how you do it. These fantastic, true

30:35

accounts. Yes. More spooky stories. And

30:37

you know, I was just thinking about this. You

30:39

know, what I like to do when I get

30:41

a little creeped out, a little too creeped out

30:43

from some of these stories, Jeremy, John. Oh, I

30:45

know what you're going to say. I like to

30:47

curl up and swaddle myself in my miracle made

30:50

sheets. Yes, I do. Of course

30:53

you do because you're a big baby. Hey.

30:55

But I get it. I understand because I

30:57

freaking love those sheets, man. They're pretty great.

31:00

This episode, guys, is brought to you by

31:02

Miracle Made Sheets. Yes. Yes. Fall has made

31:04

its presence known. It's autumn. It's getting chilly.

31:06

You may be enjoying some hot cider. Maybe

31:08

get a little hot and bother with that.

31:10

Maybe when you're trying to fall asleep at

31:12

the end of the night, you're a little

31:14

warm. You cool down. You can cool down.

31:16

Wrap yourself up in some temperature regulating bed

31:18

sheets. And they're silver infused. So they don't

31:20

only keep the evil fairies away, but they

31:23

are temperature regulating so you can sleep

31:25

at that perfect temperature all night long.

31:29

Yeah, I didn't know sheets could do that, but

31:31

these really do. And you know, if you got

31:33

that loved one in bed and as fall approaches,

31:35

maybe they're sick, maybe they're sneezing and dropping boogers

31:37

everywhere. Well, these sheets are self cleaning so they

31:39

can keep you safe from the gross and the

31:42

grime. Also, my

31:44

favorite part is just how comfortable they are. They really

31:46

do have a sort of weight to them. I've said

31:48

this before, and I'll say it again because it is

31:50

true. They do feel kind of like a hug. They

31:53

do a very cool hug. A hug from the

31:55

beyond in a good way. Seriously

31:58

comfortable. Seriously, you can feel the quality. So

32:00

they stay clean, stay fresh, three times longer

32:02

than those other lousy sheets you might have

32:04

in the closet. They're just comfortable. So rip

32:06

those old sheets off and get miracle made

32:08

sheets. It's like wrapping yourself in the skin

32:10

of an angel. We love them

32:13

and so will you. So why not

32:15

give them a shot? Go to trimiracle.com/belief

32:35

32:37

Thank you miracle made for sponsoring this episode. Indeed.

32:41

You guys excited for Halloween? Yeah,

32:43

I am. I went to Spirit Halloween. Did

32:45

you? So you saw the it mask on the

32:48

people that were with the live stream for the

32:50

expansion members yesterday. Oh, that's right. I

32:52

was at Spirit Halloween and I bought it. It mask. Pennywise

32:56

the clown, the new version. Pennywise. Yes.

33:00

I see. I'm going to take it back actually today.

33:02

Really? Yeah. You

33:04

get a new mask? I just bought it for the live

33:06

stream. But when I went in

33:08

there, the whole point was it just felt very

33:11

fun being in there. Yeah. I

33:13

love going in there. I just had to like, I do love

33:15

this time of year. I'm really going to try to sink

33:18

my teeth into it. It's hard to do

33:20

sometimes. Yeah. You really, I mean, you have, I

33:22

think the best way to do it is go out in the world. Oh yeah.

33:25

And be around people and like the environment,

33:27

like whether that's going to like an apple

33:29

fast. Yeah. Some

33:31

seasonal trick or treating fair or something. Pumpkin picking

33:33

or, you know, going to Spirit Halloween

33:35

or wherever, you know, even a haunted house, you

33:38

know, not a real one or you could do a real one too. Do

33:40

what you want. But just yeah, trying

33:42

to be outside and feel that good

33:44

energy of the season change. And autumn

33:47

magic. Yeah. Even if you live in Texas

33:49

when it's still 95 degrees out during

33:51

October. Yeah. How do you

33:53

feel it outside? Decor in the windows and the

33:55

people shopping for costumes. Well, it will get, it

33:57

is cooler. Like it already feels like the. seasons

34:00

are changing here. It's really beautiful

34:02

at night here right now. Like evenings are just

34:04

amazing. Everyone's out and

34:07

the city's just electric. Last

34:09

night was right before the members on the live

34:11

stream. Oh, and if you remember listening and you

34:14

didn't know about it, check it out. We did

34:16

a live stream and that'll be up on the

34:18

site. But yeah, it was that feeling. We were

34:20

just downtown, you know, in the historic district and

34:22

it was just the perfect crisp fall. Feeling it

34:24

was like zero humidity, just breezy. These

34:26

are starting to turn here and there's some on the

34:28

ground already. So the crunch is starting

34:30

under the feet. I love it. There's

34:32

something specifically for me for some reason about

34:35

school buses. Yeah, seeing school buses pass. Even

34:37

the sound of it like revving up. Yeah,

34:39

and the leaves falling. I could

34:41

just feel being like my head hitting the window as I tried

34:43

to sleep on the way to school on the bus but

34:46

Halloween. As you go and eat like a

34:48

bunch of snickerdoodle cookies and fall asleep in

34:50

first period. Loaves of bread. They would just,

34:52

those are the That was

34:54

the hot item. I know. It

34:56

was just straight like carbohydrate. Like a loaf of

34:58

butter bread. I remember I would

35:00

go every morning into study hall in

35:02

high school my senior year and I would

35:04

just eat cookies, carb up and I couldn't

35:07

stay awake for like the first three periods.

35:09

And I didn't even know why. I didn't even

35:12

make the connection. It was just like. That's why

35:14

we're always sleeping in school. Follow your food pyramid.

35:16

I mean, you're tired at that age anyways. Like

35:18

when you have to get up at six o'clock

35:20

and your body's like still growing. Here have some

35:23

bread. Here have some bread. Have a loaf. It's

35:25

the foundation of the food pyramid. Cover it in

35:27

butter. Anyways. Anyway, yes, Halloween. We're all feeling it.

35:29

And I'm excited for more spooky episodes. I'm

35:32

excited. Yeah. Chris, what's

35:34

coming up on the expansion? Oh

35:36

yes. Well, this was your suggestion,

35:39

John. We're going to be diving back

35:41

into celebrity strangeness. Oh yeah. All sorts

35:43

of manner of bizarre encounters with people

35:45

you know. There's just something about hearing

35:47

something from someone you saw on the

35:49

television. I told you about that story

35:51

I'm bringing, right? Yeah. It's

35:54

pretty, I mean, you know, it does deal with

35:56

like hell, I guess, but I don't necessarily think

35:58

it is a religious thing. But it's

36:00

a really good story. And the guy

36:03

is, is it McKelty Williams? Oh, the

36:05

Bubba Gump. Bubba Gump. Yeah,

36:07

or Bubba, whatever his name is in the movie.

36:09

Not Bubba Gump, yeah. He's not

36:11

the restaurant. He's the partner, you know,

36:13

he's the Bubba on the Bubba Gump

36:15

franchise. Awesome. Really like down to earth

36:17

guy, very serious. And I mean, the

36:19

whole way the story unfolds, it's like,

36:21

you can't make, he's either completely lying

36:23

because it's so dramatic and over the

36:25

top. But I mean, he just seems

36:27

like a really sincere person. And also

36:29

he says, I know people are gonna

36:31

think I'm crazy for saying this, but

36:33

he was at the time, you know,

36:35

just a fairly young guy still trying to

36:37

make it in acting. And it

36:39

doesn't benefit him in any way to tell the

36:42

story at all. As far as like, you know,

36:44

making him more credible as a person, but it's

36:47

a good story and it unfolds very

36:49

dramatically. So, awesome. I will leave it

36:51

at that, but we'll be bringing that

36:53

and we've got some other really, really

36:55

good ones coming. So that celebrity paranormal.

36:58

Second version. Take two. I'm

37:02

bringing a great Patrick Stewart story

37:04

from my favorite Star Trek captain.

37:06

He was haunted. Awesome. That'll

37:08

be fun. So if you guys want to sign

37:10

up for expansion, we have an amazing amount of

37:13

extra episodes. If you run out of the hole,

37:15

head over to beliefhole.com, hit the big red

37:17

expansion button and get

37:19

over there. We have extra episode that

37:21

we release every time and a huge

37:24

back selection of episodes. And you get

37:26

ad free episodes. Oh yes, that's important.

37:28

Absolutely. Yes. If you're sick of the ads,

37:30

you can skip them if you're a member. So come on over.

37:33

Water's warm. Cool.

37:36

And we will see you after the break. Welcome

38:04

back everybody. Hi. Hey, hey.

38:07

We are glad to have you back with us. Round two. Yes.

38:10

Be prepared to be scared. This

38:13

Halloween. Be prepared to be

38:16

scared. More

38:18

spooky tales of truth. Listener's

38:20

story is 29. Can you

38:22

believe that? That's insane. Yeah, man. Maybe

38:25

we'll hit 31 on the 31st of Halloween. Ooh,

38:27

kind of possible. It's definitely possible. What do

38:29

we got coming up? What's the

38:32

next story here? Back to today, yes. Man, these

38:34

last three stories are some of the best we've

38:36

ever had. These are the sorts of stories that

38:38

are the reason that I love doing these episodes

38:40

because they are. The first one

38:42

is a deep embrace into a strange

38:45

and pretty dark environment. So it

38:47

might be a little trepidatious walking down these corridors, but

38:49

then we've got a skinwalker store coming

38:51

up and then finally ending it with a

38:54

mind bending sort of surreal interdimensional

38:56

story. Kind of fun story.

38:58

Yeah. Which one is that one?

39:00

It's the Dr. I got you. I

39:02

got you. Let's not spoil it.

39:04

Keep it in the can if you know what I mean.

39:06

We got some good stuff coming up. So yes. Do not

39:08

click off that video. This first story. Actually,

39:11

we almost did this in the last episode, but

39:13

there were a couple questions I wanted to ask

39:15

our listener, Aubrey, who submitted it and

39:17

get a little more information. This takes place

39:19

in probably one of the most haunting atmospheres I think we've

39:21

had for a strange listener

39:23

stories episode. This

39:26

happened in June 2012 in

39:28

Cleveland, Ohio, and this comes to us from

39:30

Aubrey Adams. This is called Dark

39:33

Synagogue. Dark Synagogue.

39:39

I grew up in a high control

39:41

religious group that taught us from childhood

39:43

that there were other entities we could

39:45

not see. This being

39:48

said, at the time of these occurrences,

39:50

I identified as a staunch atheist. In

39:53

2012 or so, my religious group traveled

39:55

to Cleveland, Ohio to help with some

39:57

charity events. We were used to staying in

39:59

strange places. places, like makeshift dorms

40:01

and churches and abandoned campsites.

40:04

So when we arrived at an old

40:06

synagogue, I wasn't particularly surprised. At

40:09

first, all the kids, teens 13 and

40:12

19 or so, were excitedly running around.

40:15

This place was enormous, and had a

40:17

lot of strange architecture. A

40:19

layout that didn't make a lot of sense, staircases

40:21

that seemingly led to nowhere, and

40:24

a multi-level basement that covered the entire

40:26

city block and was larger than

40:28

the synagogue itself. I

40:30

was immediately picking up some strange vibes,

40:32

but dismissed my feelings as superstition. It's

40:35

hard to describe, but it felt to me that

40:37

the building was somehow alive.

40:41

A sentient being that was watching us,

40:43

and wanted to be known. The

40:47

first few nights were somewhat uneventful, other

40:49

than the fact that multiple kids had

40:51

nightmares and sleep paralysis. But

40:53

then, I had a close friend tell

40:55

me that she watched a shadow figure

40:57

climbing the walls and ceiling for hours.

41:01

Climbing around our sleeping bodies, end

41:03

quote, watching. I

41:06

say watching in quotes, because none of

41:08

these shadow figures she saw had faces.

41:11

She saw the same figure almost every night

41:14

we were there. Around

41:17

this time, the maintenance man tells us

41:19

that the year before, they heard an

41:21

incessant barking. They

41:25

assumed a dog had somehow made its way

41:27

off the street, and eventually tracked the noise

41:29

to the sprawling basement. Here's

41:31

where it gets weird. Even though

41:33

they could pinpoint the sound, they could

41:35

not physically access the animal. The

41:38

determination was that there may be a

41:40

street entry, or some kind of tunnels

41:42

that allowed people into the basement, or

41:45

that the basement was built in the

41:47

same strange way as the synagogue above

41:49

it, and may have secret rooms.

41:52

They never figured out how to get the dog, but

41:54

the maintenance man said the barking stopped

41:57

after a few days. A

42:01

day or so later, my friends and

42:04

I are exploring the vast synagogue and

42:06

come across a library. Normally,

42:08

this wouldn't be interesting to a bunch

42:11

of teenagers, but the library was unmarked,

42:14

every other room was labeled, and for some

42:16

strange reason we all went in. We

42:24

began to find books on

42:26

demonology, satanic worship, demon possession,

42:28

and even SRA, satanic

42:31

ritual abuse. We

42:33

were laughing somewhat, inappropriate, sure, but

42:35

we were confused enough that the

42:37

options were basically laugh or freak

42:39

out. At this

42:41

time, a friend in the group that had

42:44

experienced attacks and sleep paralysis of some kind,

42:46

both at her home and at the synagogue,

42:49

walked in. She leaned

42:51

over, saw what we were reading, and screamed,

42:53

running out of the room. She

42:58

was normally very lighthearted and funny, and the

43:00

screaming and sobbing was very out of character.

43:03

As I chased after her, I ran into a

43:05

room that I thought she had entered. I

43:08

was wrong. It

43:10

was inky black in the middle of the day.

43:14

I don't know how else to explain it, but

43:16

again, there was an entity basically

43:19

saying hello. Making

43:23

itself energetically known, a

43:25

presence in the darkness, the

43:27

same way as you know when someone is looking at you, I

43:30

felt something was communicating on an

43:33

emotional level. The

43:35

next morning, I hear that several of

43:37

the kids and some of the adults

43:39

have started sleepwalking. One

43:43

was found standing eerily on the stage

43:45

at the praise and worship hall, looking

43:47

out into the pews. The

43:52

next day or so passes uneventfully, other than

43:54

more reports of shadow people, which honestly just

43:56

seemed normal at this point. For

43:58

example, there was a massive stained glass

44:00

dome in the sanctuary, and every so often

44:02

you could see the silhouette of a person's

44:05

head and shoulders, always in the

44:07

same place, not related to any particular

44:09

time of the day, so not a shadow,

44:12

and often when we were singing praise and worship.

44:15

Some of the group went up the staircase

44:17

to the dome and were again scared off

44:19

by the sheer negative energy. I

44:22

wonder now if we were upsetting something. That

44:26

night, I woke up and had to pee. Since

44:29

the synagogue was run down, the bathrooms were

44:31

not in great condition. There was no power

44:33

at night, they only ran generators during the

44:35

day. There was another night-ser

44:37

bathroom up the stairs by where the adults

44:40

were staying, and I decided to use that

44:42

one. Now I was a curious

44:44

teen. I had been in this

44:46

bathroom before, and there was a locked door I

44:48

had tried to open multiple times, assuming it to

44:51

be a storage closet. On

44:53

this night, I was armed with my flashlight,

44:55

doing my business as quickly as possible. The

44:57

sink and mirror were directly opposite this door,

44:59

so as I'm washing my hands, I can see

45:01

the door. I looked into the mirror

45:03

for some reason, and watched the

45:05

door slowly open. There

45:13

it was, that feeling that the inky

45:15

dark was peering at me. Now,

45:18

you probably will say I should have ran at

45:20

this point, and honestly, I agree. But being my

45:22

nosy self, I wanted to see what was inside.

45:25

If you remember, I said the synagogue

45:28

was under construction. This included removing old

45:30

sections of floor, which meant some areas

45:32

went from the fourth floor all the

45:34

way down to the basement. This

45:36

door was one of them. I

45:38

looked with my flashlight in through the door

45:41

that had just opened, and I

45:43

looked down. It

45:45

was essentially a giant shaft all

45:48

the way down to the basement. Dust glittered

45:50

back at me as I tried to see the bottom.

45:53

My blood ran cold, and I sprinted downstairs as

45:55

fast as I could. I

45:58

know for a fact that I was not sleeping. sleepwalking

46:00

or dreaming in any way, and I

46:02

absolutely did not sleep afterwards. I

46:05

felt that the building itself had tried to

46:07

bring me harm. Finally,

46:13

it's the last night. We're all

46:15

pretty under slept and spooked at this point.

46:18

We had our regular praise and worship session and headed

46:20

to bed. That

46:22

night, the girls sighed of where we

46:24

were staying, woke up to horrible, and

46:26

I mean horrible screams. And

46:33

a repeated pounding. We ran

46:36

out and were physically blocked by adults, who

46:38

told us to return to our rooms. After

46:42

another sleepless night, we assumed that maybe a

46:44

woman had been outside trying to get in

46:46

to escape someone. It was

46:48

a bad area, after all. It

46:50

was the absolute definition of screaming bloody

46:52

murder. The adults seemed

46:54

spooked, but all insisted they had no idea

46:56

what happened, and that no one had been

46:59

outside. We were all rattled

47:01

and thankful to head home. About

47:04

a year later, my choir lead was

47:07

having a talk with me and a few other people from the

47:09

group. The synagogue came up,

47:12

and she took a deep breath and said, Do

47:15

you want to know what really happened? She

47:18

told us that the adults had

47:20

also been seeing full blown shadow

47:22

aberrations moving and looking at them,

47:25

and had decided to say nothing. But

47:28

they were absolutely being affected. In

47:31

fact, one of the adult group leaders

47:33

was a police officer. He

47:35

was one of the worst affected. Then,

47:38

I heard the truth about the terrible screams on that

47:40

final night. Apparently, every

47:42

night, the group leader in question had

47:45

not been sleeping due to nightmares. Instead,

47:47

he had been setting his chair up in

47:50

the middle of the floor where we were

47:52

staying, and turning it every few

47:54

minutes, keeping guard all night.

47:57

On that last night, when we thought someone was trying to get out of the house,

47:59

we were to get in. The cop

48:02

was trying to get out. The

48:04

other group leaders found him screaming

48:06

incomprehensibly, talking about the quote demons

48:08

in the building and how he

48:10

had to fight Satan off. He

48:12

seemed to think the entire synagogue

48:14

was plagued with demonic activity, and

48:16

after my experiences, I think I

48:18

believe him. Multiple people in

48:21

this group experienced nightmares, sleep paralysis,

48:23

and anxiety after leaving the synagogue,

48:26

many of whom had never had these issues

48:28

before. One final weird

48:30

synchronicity. My sister and I were separated

48:32

on the flight home by an old couple. We

48:35

switched rows so that they could sit together and

48:37

we could sit together. While I

48:39

was moving my things, I talked with the old

48:41

man. Strangely enough, he had

48:44

attended that very synagogue when it still

48:46

ran in the 50s or so. He

48:49

told me, very simply, that he absolutely

48:51

hated going as a boy. He didn't

48:53

have a particular story to tell. He

48:55

just said that the place, made

48:58

his skin crawl. Even

49:00

back then, some strange energy existed in

49:02

that place of worship. Even

49:05

today, I wonder what they were worshiping

49:08

and what was luring people to the basement.

49:13

Man, so much going

49:15

on in that. Yeah, it's layered. Yeah, it really

49:17

does make you wonder, like what

49:19

the hell was going on in that

49:21

building? Yeah, I mean, the idea that

49:23

the building itself, it does sound like there's almost

49:25

some sort of, it's like a nest. For

49:27

sure. Yeah, the nest for darkness.

49:30

Well, religion, yeah, it's tough, man, because

49:33

there's a lot of really good people

49:35

in religion. But I also feel like

49:37

there is elements where people use

49:39

it as a cover and you just don't know what

49:42

else could be going on in those situations.

49:44

Yeah, you also don't know. I mean, other

49:46

than the last, I guess, kind of

49:48

testimony from the guy who had gone there as

49:50

a kid, and it was still operating as a

49:52

synagogue, and he was creeped out by it. But

49:54

then the time, however long it was not in

49:56

use before Aubrey went there, who knows what went

49:58

on in the in-between too. the

54:00

highest of high strangeness and also the historical

54:02

accounts. That's one of my favorite things that

54:04

they do is they really get into the

54:06

books and the research. The nitty-gritty. Yes. Also,

54:09

Scott Philbrook and Forest Burgess, they just do

54:11

a really good job of making you feel

54:13

like you're home when you're listening to them.

54:15

There's a lot of good humor and a

54:17

lot of serious investigation at the same time.

54:19

That's right. It's the perfect collision of cozy

54:21

yet fascinating. Yeah, honestly, some of the best

54:24

stories I've heard have come from Astonishing Legends.

54:26

Sometimes, as you guys know, shows can laugh

54:28

off things and not take things very seriously.

54:30

And then other shows take things way too

54:32

seriously. And it's nice when you find that

54:34

middle ground with people you like listening to

54:37

who investigate seriously, but also know how to

54:39

have a good time. They navigate that shifting

54:41

line between skepticism and belief. Yes, they do.

54:43

And they're always finding things that I haven't

54:45

heard. So if you're itching for that niche

54:48

of the strange, chances are you're going

54:50

to find it there. Can't recommend them enough,

54:52

guys. Astonishing Legends. They're available wherever you

54:55

want to listen, wherever you get your

54:57

podcasts. So go search and subscribe. You're

54:59

not going to regret it. Visit astonishinglegends.com and also

55:01

click the link in the show notes because

55:03

we'll have a link below where you can

55:06

get right into all that is Astonishing. And

55:08

Legendary. That's right. Oh,

55:10

by the way, back to Dark Synagogue. She

55:13

did write in. She did give an

55:15

address in a response I just found.

55:17

I'll tell everyone. I'm not going to tell it. But

55:20

just so you brothers know, we do have it if we ever, for

55:23

some weird reason. I might drive by at a distance out

55:25

of curiosity. Yeah, I'm curious to see what it looks like

55:27

at least. I wonder if it's still there. Well, I live

55:29

in Texas, so I probably won't. It's a long drive. I

55:31

imagine you'll be home one day. Never.

55:33

Never going to visit. Well, no, I absolutely will. But

55:36

the problem, probably not going to go to a synagogue.

55:38

Probably in his priority list. I want to visit. Drive

55:40

off to Cleveland. Number one, stop. I'm back. I can

55:42

finally go to the home of demons.

55:44

Cleveland is a cool, there's a

55:46

ton of old really freaky buildings there. Like

55:49

Franklin Castle. It's a Gotham City. Mm-hmm. You

55:51

know. It's a weird city too, because you

55:53

have the Tower City, which has new

55:55

buildings as well. Kind of mixed in with

55:57

these older cathedrals and it is an interesting. It's

56:00

an interesting place for sure. Man, I just had a flashback

56:02

to last time we were there after Jake died. Oh my gosh,

56:04

that was heavy. We went and stayed at that

56:06

really tall. It's such a liminal place

56:09

in time. That was such a weird time. Yeah,

56:11

dude. Because we went and stayed at

56:14

like a high rise. Yeah, Airbnb, super tall. Airbnb.

56:17

I just remember being very distraught and

56:20

walking through a grocery store in there. But it was

56:22

like cool at the same time. It was a very

56:24

bonding experience. A weird mix. Yeah, it was very bonding.

56:26

Yeah, and I felt bad because I didn't want to

56:28

bother you in the evening, but you went to bed

56:30

earlier. Well, like I always do. Yeah, and then you

56:33

came out and you turned off all of the lights

56:35

because I thought they were going to bother you. So

56:37

we sat with one lamp on. And then you turned

56:39

the AC to like 50 and we're just like have

56:41

blankets on and trying to watch TV very quietly. Like

56:43

he's 30. Okay, I didn't turn to 50.

56:46

What are you talking about? It was really cold. It was like

56:48

blanket cold. It's like 68 maybe

56:50

at the very lowest. That's way it was cold.

56:52

I think that might be a bit of an

56:55

exaggeration, but I didn't even know. I just turned

56:57

it at like 68 degrees. Anyways, neither

56:59

here nor there. I just remember the experience

57:01

and the feeling of being that high and

57:04

looking out and just feeling a

57:06

very kind of, I mean, there's so many old

57:08

buildings there, with history and

57:10

just. It's an old city. It's kind of

57:12

a dark place, but it's also really

57:14

unique at the same time. Yeah, and

57:17

a lot of interesting history there for sure. Yeah. All

57:19

right. What's next? I think, should we

57:21

do the skin walker shack? Yeah, that's what I'm

57:23

thinking. That's a really good one. So

57:27

this next story comes from Kaylee Crow, a loyal

57:30

listener of the show. She was

57:32

in her live stream last night. She was, our members

57:34

only live stream. She's got some great stories, but this

57:36

story in particular was passed down from

57:38

her mother who has sadly passed away. I

57:41

think this takes place on the Navajo Nation, or

57:43

at least that's where Kaylee was raised. And

57:46

her mother in this account was invited

57:48

to help during a peyote ceremony

57:51

on the reservation. And during

57:53

the ceremony, something was stirring

57:55

in the dark outside. Stirring

57:58

is an understatement. Well, that's just. I

58:00

don't want to give it all away. What follows

58:02

is an encounter with Iana

58:04

Ghoshi. This

58:06

is called Shaq of the

58:09

Skinwalker, for lack of a

58:11

better title. Hi,

58:13

my name is Kaylee. I'm actually from

58:16

New Mexico. I was born

58:18

here, raised in the Navajo Nation,

58:20

which is gonna be the Dine

58:22

land. And there's a lot

58:24

of crazy stuff that happens out there. A

58:27

lot of them having to do with skinwalkers or

58:30

what they like to call it Iana Ghoshi. For

58:33

short, we just say Yannies. And it's

58:36

not really common for anybody in that

58:38

area to talk about it for good

58:40

reason, as y'all already know. I've

58:43

had my own experiences. I've

58:45

had my own things going on, but

58:47

this story is gonna be from my mother. She's passed

58:49

away now, but she used to go and tell me

58:51

a lot about what's happened to her and

58:54

her different experiences, ranging from

58:56

UFOs to a demon to

58:59

werewolf and her own

59:01

skinwalker stories. And this one's

59:03

gonna be when she was in high school. One

59:07

of her friends invited her out to a ceremony, which

59:09

is like a peyote meeting. Now

59:12

women aren't really allowed to be

59:14

inside the teepee whenever

59:16

this happens, but they're there

59:18

to go and give them in the water, food

59:21

if they need it, but it's not like any heavy food

59:24

because they're doing this in peyote. So

59:27

as they're going in the middle

59:29

of the ceremony, her and her friend and

59:31

her friend's mom were outside and there's a

59:33

shack not too far away from where the

59:35

teepee was placed. They started

59:38

hearing something, like going crazy

59:40

inside as the singing was going on in

59:42

the teepee. So

59:48

the friend's mom, sorry, she went and alerted

59:50

one of the men inside, and said, hey,

59:52

there's something out here and it's

59:55

getting aggravated by the singing that's going on. And

59:58

so he told the medicine man that was... inside.

1:00:00

The medicine man said, hey, we got to

1:00:02

go and stop this real quick. All

1:00:04

the men went and piled out of

1:00:06

the teepee and they all went to the shack.

1:00:12

It surrounded it and the medicine man had

1:00:14

a whistle. And he goes, I

1:00:16

know what's exactly in here. He goes, it's not, it's

1:00:19

not friendly. It's actually what has been

1:00:21

Guzhin you, which is putting magic on you.

1:00:26

And so he goes and goes, I'm

1:00:28

going to get rid of this, this Yani. And

1:00:31

he brings out the whistle. He

1:00:33

starts off on the North side, blew

1:00:35

the whistle. Whatever

1:00:40

was inside just became even more agitated.

1:00:46

So the medicine man went on to the

1:00:48

Western side, blew the whistle and

1:00:51

it just got even more ravaging. Like

1:00:53

as if it's a raccoon or something

1:00:56

that's caught in the corner, just

1:00:58

going berserk. And

1:01:02

then the medicine man went on to the South

1:01:04

side, blew the whistle. By

1:01:09

this time it was hitting like going against

1:01:11

the walls trying to get out of this

1:01:13

little shack. Berserk.

1:01:18

And then the medicine man went on to the

1:01:20

South side, blew the whistle. By

1:01:25

this time it was hitting like going

1:01:27

against the walls trying to get out

1:01:29

of this little shack. And

1:01:33

then also in the medicine man, he went to the

1:01:35

Eastern side. He blew the whistle one last time. This

1:01:42

thing was so agitated by the

1:01:44

whistle that it broke through

1:01:46

the back of the shack and just took

1:01:48

off. They

1:01:52

saw it and it was a

1:01:55

Yanagoshi and

1:01:57

ran so fast out of that place. It was like,

1:01:59

like, you know, how sweet he comes all is when he goes and

1:02:02

runs off. Yeah,

1:02:06

it was very frightful to where my mom

1:02:08

told her friend, like, I'm done, I wanna

1:02:10

go home now, like take me back home, like, I'm

1:02:13

done. So they got into the car, and

1:02:17

this is in the middle of the night, all right? Like,

1:02:19

I don't know why she thought it was gonna be better

1:02:21

to drive in the middle of the night, but you know,

1:02:23

my mom's not the brightest person. So

1:02:25

they went, the car broke down.

1:02:31

They ended up having this day of the

1:02:33

night in the car, scared to death that

1:02:36

this Yanny was gonna go and find them.

1:02:38

Finally, sunlight came up. They

1:02:41

walked back to the friend's house, called my

1:02:43

grandparents, and they got picked up. Yeah,

1:02:48

it's such a crazy story. I

1:02:50

know, any questions? Any questions

1:02:52

anybody has? Don't be afraid to

1:02:54

reach out. Y'all have a good one. Take

1:02:56

care. Thank you

1:02:58

so much, Kaylee. Yeah. Freaky story.

1:03:01

Apparently she had her own skinwalker

1:03:03

account that she sent in later. She left

1:03:05

a couple of speak pipes. Yeah. There

1:03:07

will be more from Kaylee, for sure. In the coming

1:03:09

thousand episodes. Does she still live on the res? I

1:03:12

don't know. Is she what? Still live on

1:03:14

the reservation. That's a good question. I'm not sure. I

1:03:16

feel like I asked for that. I talked to her

1:03:18

a little bit after a previous story we did a

1:03:21

while back, but I don't remember specifically what she said,

1:03:23

but. Yeah, great story. Yeah. And it

1:03:25

just takes me back to the deep dive on the skinwalkers

1:03:27

we did. And I think it was

1:03:29

the expansion. We did drop it on the main. Yeah,

1:03:31

it was like our first expansion drop on the main

1:03:33

feed. Some pretty incredible stories. I remember in that some

1:03:36

pretty incredible lore. Check that out if

1:03:38

you haven't heard it. Yeah, we covered this book from

1:03:40

like a couple that went into reservation to learn about

1:03:42

the reservation of the people and write a book about

1:03:44

them. And I don't think they were specifically looking to

1:03:47

write a book about skinwalkers, but that's

1:03:49

when I think they came across outsiders at this time. I

1:03:51

think this might've been back in the 80s, came across this

1:03:54

information and kind of leaked it, I

1:03:57

guess, or broke it to the wider world. But we covered

1:03:59

that book in some of the stories. and there was fascinating.

1:04:01

But yeah, any of you guys out there with Skinwalker stories, I

1:04:03

know you're not supposed to talk about it if you're from

1:04:05

the res, but... Yeah, we have gotten that warning too. But

1:04:07

we will keep you anonymous if you need, and I think

1:04:09

it is a fascinating subject. For sure. It's

1:04:11

the Halloween-free werewolf, in a

1:04:14

way. But Halloween's coming up, so... That's

1:04:16

true. We'll take all stories. Well...

1:04:18

Do we have one more final one? Oh,

1:04:21

do we, John? This is my... I

1:04:24

don't know if I can say it's my favorite. This

1:04:26

is an exceptionally odd story. It's just

1:04:28

so perfectly bizarre. Yeah, I love this account.

1:04:30

This was a speak pipe submitted to us

1:04:32

from James. This is one of

1:04:34

those uniquely strange ones that we talk about.

1:04:36

This one sort of cracks open the question

1:04:38

of parallel realities, as we said earlier. And

1:04:41

this all starts with a bizarre

1:04:43

late-night phone call at 4am. This

1:04:46

is called Dr. Pepper, Parallel

1:04:49

Worlds. Hey guys, my

1:04:51

name's James. I live in Michigan. Super

1:04:55

short story, kinda weird. I

1:04:57

used to work for Dr. Pepper. I would deliver

1:04:59

pop. I

1:05:01

worked there. I drove a truck and

1:05:03

delivered. I worked there for about two

1:05:05

years, and then I left the company

1:05:07

and started working for another company. About

1:05:10

five years after I left, I was sleeping

1:05:12

one night, and I was dreaming that I

1:05:15

worked for Dr. Pepper again. I

1:05:18

woke up to my phone ringing. It was about

1:05:20

four in the morning, and

1:05:22

I didn't recognize the number. I

1:05:24

answered, and there was a guy on the other end, and

1:05:27

he asked me if I knew how. He

1:05:30

said, hey James, do you know how to get

1:05:33

into this gate at this address? And then

1:05:35

he said an address. And

1:05:37

I said, I don't know what

1:05:39

you're talking about or who you are. And

1:05:42

he said, oh, do you still

1:05:45

work for Dr. Pepper? And I

1:05:47

said, no, I quit working there five

1:05:50

years ago. And he said,

1:05:52

oh, okay, my bad. And he hung up.

1:05:54

The call had welcomed my wife up as well,

1:05:56

and she asked me who it was, and I

1:05:58

told her. Like, I didn't

1:06:02

know who it was, some guy on the other end asking

1:06:04

if I still worked at Dr. Pepper and how to get

1:06:06

into a gate. And

1:06:08

she's like, that's weird. I said, yeah. And I

1:06:10

was just dreaming before the call that I worked

1:06:12

for Dr. Pepper again. And

1:06:15

it's four in the morning and nobody would

1:06:17

be delivering at four in

1:06:19

the morning. When I worked there, we didn't

1:06:21

even clock in until 5 30. So

1:06:26

yeah, I mean, that's the end of my story. We

1:06:29

went back to sleep and then I, when we

1:06:31

woke up again, I confirmed my story with my

1:06:33

wife and she was

1:06:35

like, yeah, that's what happened. I

1:06:37

just wanted to make sure that I hadn't dreamt

1:06:39

the whole thing or confuse myself in

1:06:42

the night. But she

1:06:44

confirmed that that's the way it happened. And so it

1:06:46

was a super weird coincidence or something. But

1:06:48

yeah, thanks for listening. It's just great. Yeah, it's

1:06:50

weird. It's like, uh,

1:06:53

first of all, I would have his number. That's exactly what I was

1:06:55

just going to ask. I mean, you could have it as like in

1:06:58

the, like the work, but yeah, why? So

1:07:01

random, like four years later and. Yeah.

1:07:03

That long, where would that number even how to be given to that guy?

1:07:06

Was it four? Did he say four years later?

1:07:08

He said he hadn't worked there in like four years. I thought it's weird because

1:07:10

it was 4am. I

1:07:12

don't know if that means anything.

1:07:14

Oh, it's a clue. It let the, it let

1:07:16

the universe's merge because of the number is matching

1:07:18

up. Sure. Correction, Chris.

1:07:21

It was 5am, not 4am. So

1:07:23

your synchronistic theory missed the mark a bit.

1:07:26

Something else really weird about that story. I

1:07:28

think what's bizarre is that not only had

1:07:30

he hadn't worked there, but that he was dreaming about working

1:07:33

there. Well, obviously. Yeah. But

1:07:35

that's, that's what sticks out to me too, is like he happens to,

1:07:38

so at the very least a synchronicity, but. I mean, I believe that

1:07:40

we're very perceptive in the dream state

1:07:43

to premonition type

1:07:45

things. And like, I mean,

1:07:47

it is possible that he could have just been

1:07:49

in that very receptive state and kind of

1:07:52

knew in the ether that someone was going

1:07:54

to call him about that. That's

1:07:56

true. That happens a lot to me anyway. Like almost

1:07:58

like a telepathic, like his. his

1:08:02

state was just open to kind of reading

1:08:04

the field that

1:08:06

that was gonna happen. I mean, and

1:08:08

he did say that it was too

1:08:10

early for when they delivered, but it

1:08:12

had been a period of time that

1:08:14

maybe they started delivering earlier. Right,

1:08:17

an hour and a half earlier, it's possible. One

1:08:19

of the things I thought was interesting, that Chris, that you mentioned, actually

1:08:22

before I say that, let me say the skeptical thing. I

1:08:24

don't believe this, but I think a lot of people

1:08:26

use this, same explanation for the kind of the exploding

1:08:28

head syndrome or when you have that dream that builds

1:08:31

up to a loud sound that happens in your house,

1:08:33

how did your brain know that something's falling down

1:08:35

the stairs for like a long time and then

1:08:38

right when it hits the bottom, there's a bang

1:08:40

on your door, right? And the explanation I think

1:08:42

that I've heard people give is that it's your

1:08:44

brain basically reprocessing. Right, like basically

1:08:46

rewinding your mind and implanting that memory,

1:08:49

but it didn't actually, the dream didn't

1:08:51

happen that way before it hit.

1:08:53

That's so fascinating. You can make the argument that

1:08:55

he woke up and then had some connection to

1:08:58

where his brain reworked a dream

1:09:00

or he was still in a hypnotic kind of state and it

1:09:02

like reprogrammed what he had previously dreamt, but I

1:09:04

don't believe it. That's making me sense. Well, I

1:09:07

think you could argue, you could use that explanation

1:09:09

kind of tied together. So, but how did he?

1:09:11

Yeah, get to the Dr. Pepper part because that's

1:09:13

kind of the key there. He was dreaming about

1:09:15

working at Dr. Pepper because he gets a call,

1:09:17

he answers it and then the guy, hey, I'm

1:09:19

from Dr. Pepper and then it reprograms his mind.

1:09:21

Like you do, I'm just saying like that someone could suggest,

1:09:24

I'm not saying I believe that. It could be

1:09:26

an explanation, but I like the one better which was, Chris, I think you

1:09:28

told me after we listened to the story the first time, which

1:09:31

was the concept that maybe

1:09:33

there was some sort of overlap,

1:09:35

which is why you titled it Dr. Pepper

1:09:37

parallel worlds. Maybe in the world where Dr.

1:09:40

Pepper does deliver at 4.30 in

1:09:42

the morning instead of, or whatever time

1:09:44

it was, maybe four in the morning instead of 5.30. Maybe

1:09:47

he still worked there. He was still in the Rolodex there,

1:09:49

you know, somehow the numbers crossed over, the field

1:09:51

was thin. I mean, that's my favorite idea. Most

1:09:54

likely. There's some sort of late night frequencies that

1:09:56

meant. I think it's definitely possible too that he

1:09:58

was just, I mean, the premonition

1:10:00

type thing, especially when you're in that state

1:10:02

of slumber. I feel like the ether. Yeah,

1:10:04

oh, for sure. You know, that this kind

1:10:06

of connection web that we all have, like

1:10:08

I think you're more receptive to those kinds

1:10:10

of things during that time. I mean, this

1:10:12

literally happened to me this morning. I woke

1:10:14

up and I was dreaming about Ollie, our

1:10:17

dog we had, both found, and

1:10:19

she was weirdly mangy and she

1:10:22

was laying on me and looking up into my eyes

1:10:24

in this very specific position. And I was like, mom,

1:10:26

she's got these sad eyes. Why is she looking so

1:10:28

sad? And mom was like, well, it's because she's dying.

1:10:31

The doctor said she's dying. And I said, sad

1:10:33

dreams, but she's so young. And

1:10:35

she's like, yeah, but you know, she'll be okay

1:10:37

or whatever. And then, but she had this very

1:10:39

specific pose, this mangy hair and these eyes that

1:10:41

look so sad. And then I woke

1:10:43

up and then literally the first thing, my phone went off

1:10:46

and I opened up my phone. And on

1:10:48

Instagram, there was a picture of someone with, it was

1:10:50

a white dog, but the same mangy look, the same

1:10:52

sad eyes with the same position looking up. And it

1:10:54

just felt like one of those things that happened all

1:10:56

the time where it's like, you

1:10:58

see a version of what you dreamt about throughout the day. Yeah.

1:11:01

So that does happen regularly. I don't know. I always thought maybe it

1:11:03

was more of a, like in the dream

1:11:05

state, things are a temporal and that so

1:11:07

you are closer to future past, in

1:11:12

the near orbit of future and past when you're

1:11:14

in your dream state. So you're kind of picking

1:11:16

up from those areas. It's like a radius of

1:11:19

knowledge imprints on

1:11:21

you. Exactly. Yeah. But

1:11:23

what do you guys think? Regardless, definitely. I

1:11:26

wish he would have called Dr.

1:11:28

Pepper. Yeah. I should ask him

1:11:30

if he, I imagine he would have included that if he had called back. I

1:11:32

think it sounds like his physician. I wish

1:11:34

he would have called Dr. Pepper. You

1:11:36

know, you should call Dr. Pepper if you're feeling it.

1:11:38

Well, you just said, Hey, did you guys deliver earlier

1:11:40

now or something? Just to work there? Or call that

1:11:42

number back the next day. It might've been a good

1:11:44

thing to do, you know? Yeah.

1:11:48

Why didn't you do it? I'm just kidding. As

1:11:51

being a jerk. No, great

1:11:53

story though. Thanks for sharing. Yeah. That

1:11:55

was a great story. Excellent. We had a good run

1:11:57

of stories today, for sure. Yeah. We

1:12:00

absolutely did. Thank you to everyone who has

1:12:02

been submitting and sharing us to allow us

1:12:04

to put them in our archive. Don't forget

1:12:06

to join us in the expansion to hear

1:12:08

some more celebrity strangeness. That is going to

1:12:10

be fun. High celebrity strangeness.

1:12:13

Yes. Strangeness. Yes.

1:12:16

Strangies. Celebrity strangies. That's what I like

1:12:18

to say. I doubt I will title it that in reality

1:12:20

because- Because you're a child. It's terrible. Not

1:12:22

very trendy. Yeah, probably terrible for us. Strangies is not

1:12:24

a keyword I would recommend. Strangies. Just like camp creepily.

1:12:27

But- Also not a word. In

1:12:29

my brain. But yeah, I think we have

1:12:31

some special people to thank, right? We do

1:12:33

and we have a special something from you today,

1:12:36

Jon. We do. We have

1:12:38

a special something from me to a special something to

1:12:40

her. Her who? Her

1:12:42

name is Charlotte. Charlotte. She goes

1:12:45

by Char though. That's right. Charlotte

1:12:48

Lenzen. And she

1:12:50

bought a little stinger. And

1:12:52

Charlotte is very in love with

1:12:55

owls. That's right. That

1:12:57

is- Who isn't? Something

1:13:00

that she's deeply. Deeply cares

1:13:02

about a lot. So that is

1:13:04

included in this little magical little

1:13:07

song. Yes. I hope it's filled

1:13:09

with hoot sound effects. Well, you

1:13:11

may just have something there. Thank

1:13:15

you for purchasing the stinger, Char, and supporting the

1:13:17

show. I'm excited to hear it. Here

1:13:19

we go. Charlotte, that's who. She's

1:13:21

in love with it. She's in love with

1:13:23

it. She's in love with it. She's in

1:13:25

love with it. She's in love with it.

1:13:27

She's in love with it. She's in love

1:13:29

with it. She's in love with it. I'm

1:13:31

gonna count on you, Chy. Ryo...

1:13:37

I'm gonna count on you. Let's

1:13:42

say how you can best

1:13:44

friend on the show. Ashley.

1:13:56

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

1:14:00

I want this animated. John's face on an owl. That

1:14:09

is great. That is a pretty good human owl

1:14:12

chimera impression. I thought so. I thought I did

1:14:14

a pretty good job on that. That

1:14:16

was great. Well, thank you again, Charlotte. Yes. We really

1:14:18

do appreciate you for being with

1:14:21

us. And thank you for being patient,

1:14:23

because we didn't even know you existed

1:14:25

until you told us. That's true. We

1:14:27

need to get our butts on

1:14:30

making the stinger for you. Yes. Thank you

1:14:32

for that support, Charlotte. Speaking of patience, we

1:14:35

know we've been behind on thank yous, and thank you

1:14:37

to everybody that has signed up for that tier. We

1:14:40

are going to be transitioning away from

1:14:42

the shout out tier. The Black Eyed Cool Kid.

1:14:45

The vocal shout out tier. Yeah. At least in

1:14:47

its current form. Yes. At least in its current

1:14:49

form. It's not fair to you guys. There's just

1:14:51

so much production involved, and we've fallen behind with

1:14:54

the thank yous, the audible thank yous for Black

1:14:56

Eyed Cool Kids and Up. So yeah,

1:14:58

that tier will be changing. Something's going to be happening,

1:15:00

but there will be the Black Eyed

1:15:02

Cool Kid shout outs will be on indefinite pause. But if

1:15:04

you've already signed up at that tier, of course, you are

1:15:07

going to hear your name over the next few episodes. So

1:15:09

just make sure to tune in. Yeah. We're catching up to

1:15:11

you. And before we jump into our lists and start catching

1:15:13

up with a lot of you people who have supported the

1:15:15

show, who deserve thank yous, we have a very special heavyweight

1:15:18

in the room, and that is William

1:15:21

Davis, who is a Skywheel

1:15:23

rider. Skywheel rider.

1:15:26

Skywheel rider. Slap

1:15:30

that. Never gets all rubber

1:15:32

flesh. Ride that Skywheel. Skywheel

1:15:34

rider. That's

1:15:37

right. Thank

1:15:40

you so much, William Davis. Yes. Sincerely for

1:15:42

that extra generous support. Willie, you are the

1:15:44

man. You are deep in the hole, sir.

1:15:46

You've indeed made a big splash with us.

1:15:48

Yes. Thank you so much. That really makes

1:15:50

a difference. Yeah. And

1:15:52

we have a lot of other special people to thank.

1:15:55

Thank you, too. Oh,

1:15:57

I started off with a difficult one. Thank

1:16:00

you to Kirshnerz at 143. He's

1:16:04

a Dog Man Whisperer. Right? Oh,

1:16:06

yeah. Kirshnerz. Thank you. How are you,

1:16:08

my friend? We're in the kitchen and

1:16:10

it's getting tasty because we are hanging out

1:16:12

with another Dog Man Whisperer, Claire Cook. Right,

1:16:15

Claire. You're

1:16:18

so fair. Chef magic. Chef

1:16:21

magic. Thank you, Claire. You know, you don't

1:16:23

have to be lonely with Justin Lonely. Wow.

1:16:25

He's all the company you need. Justin

1:16:27

Lonely. Thank you to be here, my friend.

1:16:30

Thank you. Ian Olson is in

1:16:32

the hole. Olson. Right. Oh.

1:16:34

Son of old. Olson. I

1:16:36

know an Olson. Thank you, Ian. You are a deer.

1:16:39

Come on down. Anthony Pacueno.

1:16:41

Pacueno? Anthony Pacueno. E-Pec-a-nya.

1:16:44

Anthony P. Thank you for coming.

1:16:47

Give that man a howl. He is a Dog Man. That's right.

1:16:50

Oh, Dog Man's are so good. If

1:16:52

you like that one, here comes another John.

1:16:54

Shayna. Oh. He's another

1:16:57

Dog Man. Shayna, Shayna, Bobana. Banana,

1:16:59

Fana, Dog Man. Oh,

1:17:01

that was good. Thank you, Shayna, for joining us. Alexa

1:17:04

Ratter is here. Ooh, or Raider. Yes,

1:17:07

she is. Raid that hole. That's

1:17:10

a wonderful laugh. Alexa,

1:17:12

I love that name. Good job on joining.

1:17:15

Good job on you. Good job. Thank

1:17:17

you. The Great

1:17:20

Countess, I would say. It sounds

1:17:22

like a Countess's name. Beatrice Von

1:17:24

Page. Oh. Another elite.

1:17:28

Excellent. A very royal name. A

1:17:30

very wealthy, belief-like. Assume

1:17:33

that by her name. Thank you. Guys,

1:17:35

we have a shadow person of interest. What? Stop

1:17:37

the press as we have a shadow person of interest. His

1:17:40

name is Chris Vanpool. Hold

1:17:42

the phone. All

1:17:45

right. Stop the calls. I feel like we're

1:17:47

getting a lot of aristocrats in this session.

1:17:49

Thank you, Chris. Thank you for that extra

1:17:51

generous support, Chris. We take a dip in

1:17:53

Chris. He's really appreciated. Thank you. Another

1:17:56

Dog Man Whisper, Farsom Omidpana.

1:17:58

Ah, Farsom, yes. Yes, yes,

1:18:00

I'm familiar with Farsom. Another dogman with a-

1:18:02

Is this our second Farsom? I guess so. I

1:18:05

definitely remember that Farsom before, so.

1:18:07

Yes. Farsom number two. How

1:18:09

about you? How about you? Justice

1:18:11

suite. Thank you Farsom. Yes. Melody

1:18:14

Garcia's in the hole. Aww. What's

1:18:16

up Melody? Oh my god! How you doing? Melody

1:18:19

Garcia, welcome in. Yes. My favorite

1:18:21

counselor from- Or that one show. Hey

1:18:23

dude. Hey dude. Hey, this

1:18:25

is- Melody. Mary Ben Stilber. Look

1:18:27

it up. Welcome to be here. Melody. J

1:18:31

S Mexish. Hello. Just

1:18:34

Mexish. Mexish. Mexish is here. Welcome, welcome

1:18:36

to be here. Welcome. A lot of shmushy

1:18:38

words today. A lot of shmushy words indeed. Shmush them up. A

1:18:41

year long diver into the hole

1:18:43

dedicated to be here as a dogman whisper

1:18:46

is Tessa. Tessa.

1:18:49

Tessa, you have the name of my first girlfriend.

1:18:52

Whatever you say to that. Maybe it's her. Ooh.

1:18:55

It's actually Tess, so not really. Well

1:18:58

she added the A. It's A for anonymous. You're

1:19:00

hiding, aren't you? You really are her, aren't you?

1:19:03

Welcome in Tess. Thank you for

1:19:05

the long-term dogman whisper pledge, Tessa.

1:19:07

Beautiful. Of course, sweetheart. Megan is

1:19:10

a black eyed cool kid. Welcome to be here,

1:19:12

Megan. Megan. Megan's no slouch. How dare

1:19:14

you make me smile, Megan? She doesn't sit on the

1:19:16

couch. Thank you. Yes. Fowlin.

1:19:20

Ooh. Is he a foullin?

1:19:23

Hello. F-A-U-L-E-N. What's the name? Stop fowlin'

1:19:25

around. What is it to foul?

1:19:27

What is it to foul? Did

1:19:29

you just foul up? Another yearly dogman whisper.

1:19:31

Thank you so much, Fowlin. Thank you. That

1:19:34

is very generous of you. Oh, and also not

1:19:36

to be subsumed by. Rob

1:19:39

Thomas. Robert Thomas. Matchbox

1:19:41

20. Probably not the

1:19:43

same. That's gotta be him. Who else could

1:19:45

it be? Another dogman whisper. Definitely him. It's

1:19:47

not a common name. Thank you, Rob. Thank you

1:19:50

for taking time out of your busy show

1:19:52

schedule to come to the hole. Absolutely.

1:19:54

Thank you, Rob. Greatest band of all

1:19:57

time. Excellent. 3M, man. I

1:19:59

must be lonely. I think you believe it. I

1:20:01

do. Yes! All right,

1:20:03

Mothmane, or I think maybe it's

1:20:05

supposed to be Mothman, maybe it's like a Mothmane. Mothmane

1:20:08

is here, or Mothman. Welcome

1:20:10

in, Mothmane. I like Mothmane. Welcome to Be

1:20:12

Here. Maybe you have a big like mane

1:20:15

of hair that makes it look like you're

1:20:18

a Mothman. Ha ha ha! Like

1:20:20

a Mothmane. Exactly. Hey,

1:20:22

mane. Oh. Welcome in,

1:20:25

Mothmane. Grayson Sanner, welcome to Be

1:20:27

Here. Happy to have you. Yes, Grayson. I like

1:20:29

that name rolls right off the tongue. I'm afraid

1:20:31

to have a kid with that name. Grayson Sanner,

1:20:33

welcome in. Grayson Sanner. You're a hero.

1:20:35

Welcome to Be Here. Welcome to Be Here. Another

1:20:38

Dogman Whisper, Jason Eubank.

1:20:40

Woo! I would bank

1:20:42

with Jason Eubank. I bank

1:20:45

Eubank. I bank Eubank. We all bank in the

1:20:47

hole. I bank on Jason for being a

1:20:49

good guy. Awesome. Yes, sir. Guys, no shout

1:20:51

out for some interest. I didn't even see this coming. I'm

1:20:54

going to rule this a victory

1:20:57

from Tracy Judge. Tracy

1:20:59

Judge. Well, thank

1:21:02

you, Tracy. Wow. I'm

1:21:05

having trouble with these. It's been a long time.

1:21:07

Tracy, don't judge the hole. We're

1:21:10

doing our best. Yes, we're shaking the dust

1:21:12

off. Fanging her, gobbling the expansion. All

1:21:15

to here. Thank you for that extra special

1:21:17

support, Tracy. Yes. Patrick Midkiff,

1:21:19

what is up, my friend? That's a

1:21:21

fun name. Midkiff, high fives to you.

1:21:23

Reminds me of Hep Cat or something.

1:21:26

Sure, you know. Heathcliff, that's what I'm

1:21:28

thinking of. Great cartoon. There you go. That

1:21:31

sounds about right. Lisa T. Lisa T? Yeah,

1:21:33

you know me. It's a Dog Man Whisperer.

1:21:35

All right. Oh my gosh. I

1:21:38

love it. Welcome in, Lisa.

1:21:40

John is really feeling it. Thank

1:21:42

you, beard. Feels so good. Logan

1:21:44

Johnson. Hey. Another Dog Man Whisperer.

1:21:47

Can I get another pleasure emoji from you, John?

1:21:49

For Logan Johnson. Oh my god. It's so good

1:21:51

to get a Dog Man. Thank

1:21:54

you, Logan. Thank you, Logan. Wonderful,

1:21:56

wonderful stuff. Ladies and

1:21:58

gentlemen, keep them coming. Kathleen!

1:22:01

All right! That's my aunt's name! It's

1:22:03

pronounced Cat-h-leen. Cat-a-lian. Welcome

1:22:06

to be here, Kathleen. Yes, thank you.

1:22:08

Welcome to be here. Thank you for

1:22:10

sharing your life with us. Yes, I

1:22:12

appreciate it. Sol-z-ma-re-pa. Oh, Sol-z-ma-re-pa is here.

1:22:14

Oh, I like that. Oh, that's very

1:22:16

synchronous. Stick with the Grim Reaper. Oh,

1:22:19

Rippa. Sure, yeah, Rippa. Yeah, Rippa. We

1:22:21

did it in the expansion episode. That's

1:22:23

right. Sun-ripper. Thank you, Sol. That

1:22:25

is a really cool name. I like that name,

1:22:27

Sol. Thank you to be here. Welcome

1:22:30

in. You can never have enough Michaels. I'm just going to

1:22:32

say that right now. Michael. That's true. Thank you to be

1:22:34

here. Classic. Welcome to have you. Oh,

1:22:37

Michael. Yes. This

1:22:40

next one's interesting. What could it mean? Why

1:22:42

don't you read it, Chris? This next

1:22:44

thank you is for Squinton. Squinton. S-Q-U-I-T-T-E-N.

1:22:46

Yes. For all you spelling bee champs.

1:22:49

Oh, cool. That's a nickname. That is

1:22:51

a very unique nickname. Squinton.

1:22:53

Just going to read it. Thank you, Squinton.

1:22:55

Thank you for being here. Welcome to be

1:22:58

here. You are a terrific

1:23:00

addition to the whole. Yes. Nikki

1:23:02

Tiernan. All right. This is a Dog Man

1:23:04

Whisperer. Yes, she is. Do it up. Do

1:23:07

it, John. Thank you to be here,

1:23:09

Nikki. Yes. Welcome in. This is weird. And

1:23:11

the last name for today, guys, is going to

1:23:13

be David Fraser. His

1:23:17

familiar name. This sounds familiar. It's my favorite

1:23:19

name ever. This sounds like David Fraser. I

1:23:21

saw the tic-tac. Oh, that's not a thing

1:23:23

of the day, Fraser. This is different. This

1:23:25

is David Fraser. Different band altogether. And he

1:23:27

is a Dog Man Whisperer. I think we've

1:23:29

had correspondences with this David Fraser. Maybe

1:23:32

he's smitten your story. My brain is broken. I can't

1:23:34

remember, but thank you to be here. Thank you for

1:23:36

being a Dog Man Whisperer. Welcome in. Welcome to be

1:23:38

here. And we enjoy you. Yes. And we enjoy you.

1:23:40

We enjoy you. All over. Hope you enjoy the whole.

1:23:43

All right, guys. Thank you so much. Yes. Thank you

1:23:45

to all you people. And if you haven't heard your

1:23:47

name yet, again, we're getting through the list. And we

1:23:50

are halting new signups so we can we

1:23:52

can catch up. Halt! To all of you.

1:23:54

Hold the presses. All right, guys. Yeah,

1:23:56

we'll see where that goes. We're not sure what's going to

1:23:58

might if it's gone forever, maybe. if we do

1:24:00

a scroll or something, well, we're gonna talk about it, but definitely

1:24:02

need to take a pause on it, just to be fair to

1:24:04

everybody out there is waiting for a name. Yeah.

1:24:07

Yeah, we might do a scroll thing at some point. I kind

1:24:09

of like that idea. Video scroll would be cool. We had someone

1:24:12

write in and suggest that. So we have

1:24:14

to work out how that, I'm just gonna figure out

1:24:16

how to implement it. How to dynamically connect it. So

1:24:18

yeah, we don't have to like go through the rigmarole.

1:24:20

But don't think that you are not appreciated is the

1:24:22

bottom line. Yeah, absolutely. That is the

1:24:24

furthest thing from the truth. You are all I

1:24:26

think about. Well, I don't know if that seems

1:24:28

a little extreme. But we think

1:24:31

about you a lot and we do feel bad that it's taken

1:24:33

so long. So thank you for sticking with us. We're catching

1:24:35

up. Your name will be heard. And

1:24:37

thank you for being here. Yeah, we'll see you

1:24:39

in the expansion for more fun celebrity

1:24:42

strangers. That's right. Until next time, we'll

1:24:44

see you next time. On the Believe Home.

1:24:47

The Believe Home. Down

1:24:50

on the farm. Bye.
