Well, hello, hello. hello.

3:01

Hello. Welcome, brothers. I'm Chris. I'm

3:03

Chris. I'm John. And I'm

3:05

Jeremy. And we are the brothers of the

3:07

Beliefful. Welcome to be here.

3:09

Yes, today we have a wonderful

3:11

episode, Frightening Tales. True horror

3:13

stories on the graveyard shift. Spooky.

3:20

Okay, does that mean? Well,

3:23

it it means what it says. So it's just

3:25

people working the shift? Yeah, people have

3:28

strange experiences all the time at work. And we've

3:30

had a lot of people write in about that. And

3:32

a lot of people listen to the show while

3:34

they're working. So it seemed like a happy marriage. Yeah,

3:36

of elements. I like the concept, but but I

3:38

think to clarify, it's not just the graveyard

3:40

shift. It's encounters that occur

3:42

at work, right? Sure, technically, there

3:44

are some daylight experiences, but graveyard

3:47

is more spooky sounding. And we

3:49

do have one, we I think,

3:51

fascinating account in a graveyard or

3:53

near a right? Yes, a

3:55

couple, actually. So So title makes sense. It

3:57

does. And I like it. Glad

3:59

you agree. So this is not Dancing Pass

4:01

the Graveyard. No, that's an episode I

4:04

want to do in the future.

4:06

That's the book by Paul Eno, which

4:08

is a super fascinating all about parasites,

4:12

multiverse connections between spirits and dimensional beings. I'm like,

4:14

Like starve your ghouls. sounds like a perfect

4:16

marriage. Yes. We covered a little bit here

4:18

and there on the show, but I I

4:20

want to do a deep dive. It'd

4:22

be a lot of fun. Yes. So

4:24

without further ado, I guess we can begin

4:26

if you guys would like. Oh, I'm so

4:28

ready. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I'm excited for our first

4:31

story, Chris. This comes from an old and blessed

4:33

friend. That's not the first story, actually. Never

4:35

mind. That be coming up. Okay. Yes. We have

4:37

a great story from a long time friend, But first, I

4:39

I thought this would be a great way

4:41

to start. This is a story I've to do

4:43

for a while, but I was waiting to

4:45

do a haunted hometown episode. We We were

4:47

going to talk about Canal Fulton, our

4:49

hometown, but But I don't know when

4:52

that's going to happen. So I thought was

4:54

another great way to use this encounter,

4:56

and this gentleman submitted another count well.

4:58

So I might that in the future. But

5:00

our first story takes place in

5:02

a small Ohio town, familiar to

5:04

us because it is also our

5:06

hometown, the place where we grew up,

5:08

a very haunted town with

5:10

a haunting history. So hopefully we'll talk about that

5:12

someday. But this account happened one dark

5:14

night to a local cop who's been

5:16

on his hometown beat for 14 years now.

5:18

Josh. He tries to be a rational

5:20

guy, but on this night in particular,

5:23

when dispatch gets a call about a

5:25

home invasion in progress, he comes face

5:27

to face with something that reason and

5:29

explanation. It's a quiet

5:31

home, a lone homeowner and intruder who leaves

5:33

more questions than answers. So

5:36

So I realized this is of cheesy as I

5:38

wrote this out. This is a long

5:40

intro. I should have turned it a little

5:42

more. Shout to our higher listeners too. Yes. Yes. And

5:44

our CF listeners, especially. Do

5:46

we have any of those? We have a few.

5:48

Did you listen to this long intro? Well, I

5:50

meant more than like or two. Yes, we have

5:52

several in town listeners. Raise your hands. Well, good for

5:55

you. Give us a a honk. Give us a

5:57

horn honk If you're driving in the car. But

5:59

anyway, yes. Follow us down the trail, enjoy

6:02

the story. This

6:04

comes from Josh and and this

6:06

is called Supernatural Home Invader.

6:10

I've been a police officer in a small town

6:12

for years. years. My town has

6:14

a lot of paranormal history and seen some

6:16

strange stuff over the years, but this one

6:18

always boggled my mind. I

6:20

was working nights one night in the winter. It

6:24

been snowing pretty good that day, and there was a fair

6:26

amount on the ground. It was around

6:29

midnight, and we got a call for

6:31

an active burglary at a residence. Myself

6:33

and a couple of of officers responded. Upon

6:40

arrival, we met with the victim, who

6:42

stated he was watching TV when he heard

6:44

some noises coming from his garage downstairs.

6:51

He lived alone and had no pets, so there

6:53

shouldn't have been anything moving in the house. He

6:56

armed himself with a pistol and went to check

6:58

it out. He says he

7:00

opened the main door to his garage. the

7:05

lights were off. and the garage was dark. He

7:08

says he turned on the lights, and there

7:10

was a man dressed in all black

7:12

standing in his garage. He

7:17

said man didn't move or say anything. He

7:19

just stared at him. He

7:21

pointed his pistol at him and said, I'll

7:24

shoot you, man. At

7:26

that time, the man dressed in black ran

7:28

out the door that led outside. The

7:31

The said he didn't follow the man

7:33

outside. He went back into his house

7:35

and called 911. We asked if

7:37

the back door to the garage was left

7:39

unlocked because there was no forced entry. And

7:41

he stated, no, no, it was always

7:43

locked and had been for years

7:46

because he never went in out through

7:48

door. This is where the

7:50

story gets strange. We

7:55

footprints in the snow circling the

7:57

victim's house, leading to the back door

7:59

where he was. entered. There

8:01

was one set of footprints leading away from

8:03

the victim's house toward the woods behind the

8:05

house. At that time in my

8:07

career, I was a canine handler, so I deployed

8:09

my partner to track the suspect. It

8:13

was an easy track because there was

8:15

only one set of tracks in the snow

8:17

and nothing but space around them. The

8:19

suspect was clearly running due to the length

8:21

of the stride. We followed

8:24

the track for approximately feet. Then

8:26

the footprints Then the footprints just

8:28

stopped. I

8:30

distinctly remember it was a

8:32

left footprint that stopped on. My

8:35

partner stopped tracking and just stared at

8:37

me, indicating that there was no more

8:39

scent for him to follow. There

8:42

was nothing but untouched snow all around us.

8:44

I I thought that

8:46

maybe the suspect had jumped somewhere, but the

8:48

nearest object he could have gotten to was

8:50

a shed about 25 feet away. Even

8:52

with the unlikely possibility he could have made

8:54

it to that shed I went and checked around

8:57

and located no sign of him. We

8:59

checked all over the surrounding area and never

9:01

found another sign of the suspect. We

9:05

had no other sightings or incidents with that

9:07

suspect. It's like he took

9:09

off running and vanished mid-stride.

9:11

I've I've

9:14

always been interested in paranormal stuff, but

9:16

consider myself a pretty logical dude. I

9:18

could never really come up with an explanation for this

9:21

event. What's anyone else's thoughts? I

9:24

really dig the show, always looking forward to

9:26

future episodes. Thanks Josh. Great

9:29

story, Josh. Yeah thank you, sir. Yeah thank

9:31

you for keeping our streets safe out

9:33

there. Yes but you let

9:35

this ghost go. so then mark

9:38

against you. Yeah pretty crazy. I mean,

9:40

yeah, I don't know. I mean,

9:42

that'd be very unsettling. And I'm

9:44

kind of reading through some

9:46

of the, some of the details. Yeah

9:48

of the specific like numbers involved. There's

9:51

a 25 foot gap. Yeah

9:53

from the footprints a shed. So

9:55

that's not a jump you're gonna make. Maybe

9:57

he was a dog man could leap.

10:00

around. really high. I don't

10:02

know. Yeah, Yeah, it's definitely. So Phantom, maybe? it It

10:04

is interesting. You know, he's, he sent another story

10:06

after this that we might do in

10:08

a future episode, either on Halloween,

10:10

because it happened on Halloween, or a haunted

10:12

story. But hometown there definitely, he said he's had

10:14

a a lot of experiences in town. Really

10:16

Interesting. Over the years. It is an

10:18

old town. Yeah. Very old town. Canal town.

10:21

Yeah. With an interesting kind of strange

10:23

history with it being on a canal. And of

10:25

course, the rumors of murders on the

10:27

canal. I'm sure that happened. Yeah. Oh yeah.

10:29

plenty of history here. There's think, don't know

10:31

how many mortuaries there were back in

10:33

the day, but you the the tattoo is now,

10:35

there was, that was a bar. and

10:37

there was a mortuary in the basement. And the

10:39

story goes that if you had some money

10:41

and you got in fight with somebody at that

10:43

saloon and you took them out, you could pay

10:46

the bartender and he would take them through

10:48

the tunnel underground to where the century is

10:50

today, that restaurant. And there was a

10:52

mortuary under there. Oh, so the mortuary is under

10:54

the restaurant across the street. Under the restaurants.

10:56

That's right. That whole area was called Brimstone

10:58

Corners. Right. of the the that was raised and

11:00

the dark deeds done. The seedy folks getting off

11:02

the boat and spending their money in the saloons.

11:04

That's why they have Brimstone bikes there. Yeah. I'd love to

11:06

do a whole episode on that sometime. Well,

11:08

if you have more stories, Josh, I'm fascinating. But

11:10

of course, the obvious thought initially is, okay,

11:12

did he jump into the woods? You

11:14

Well, know, you can't really hide your tracks in

11:16

Like I can't imagine like the snow down to, you

11:19

know, as you walk backwards. I actually followed

11:21

up with him about that because was what

11:23

I wanted to ask him. So responded to

11:25

me and said, quote, would have been impossible

11:27

for him to have double on his tracks. The

11:30

prints in the snow were perfect and not disturbed

11:32

at all. So there wasn't like a, it didn't look

11:34

like just a, much, you could tell you could make out

11:36

the footprint and it was going in one direction.

11:38

Even if he would have done that, there was

11:40

nothing along his path of travel he could have

11:42

jumped into because I asked him, like, were there

11:44

maybe a wood line, something other than like an object like the

11:46

shed. He said, there's nothing basically space. He

11:48

said, and the dog would have sent it to

11:50

him out anyway. Right. So regardless, the dog lost

11:52

his scent right at the end of the

11:54

trail, which is pretty crazy. So

11:56

didn't see it. this thing or

11:58

person in the garage. the homeowner, right,

12:01

that initially made the call. So

12:03

he dressed all black or was

12:05

he made of shadow? Or

12:07

he made of black? Yeah, Was he

12:09

a shadow person potentially? That's a good question.

12:11

A phantom. Or was he abducted by

12:14

aliens while trying to escape? Or

12:16

a bird. Or a thunderbird.

12:18

Or a skywheel. Skyjelly. You

12:21

You that famous Christmas story of the

12:23

guy who was taken from from the sky. And

12:25

you could, remember, you could, could hear him

12:27

yelling to his family up in the

12:29

sky somewhere. Just kind of remind me that

12:31

story because it's also winter with snow,

12:33

the same kind of atmosphere. Yeah. That would

12:35

be a very coincidental thing considering he was

12:37

all black. I don't know. It just

12:40

seems It little bit more like whatever

12:42

happened was directly related to the being

12:44

itself. Supernatural realm. Yeah. Well, it's interesting too

12:46

because Well, wouldn't think ghosts would leave

12:48

footprints in the snow necessarily, but then

12:50

you wonder like, how many opportunities have there

12:52

been? You know, where where might be, if

12:54

it was snowing all year round, if

12:56

you were up at the North Pole, would

12:59

you see mysterious footprints more regularly? Ghosts in

13:01

the snow. Maybe that's a dumb thought. Or if,

13:03

you know, spirits whatever you think they might

13:05

be, even demons can have a of physical

13:07

force, course. Yeah. Yeah. Non -physical appearance or

13:09

interaction with the world, but then also

13:11

it can become physical. So maybe that's

13:13

that transition. They're like, you can be

13:16

scratched. Ghosts don't talk. Okay. Ghosts

13:18

don't talk. We've clarified. Anyways, he he ended up, he

13:20

ended just by saying, even though his partner

13:22

lost the scent, he went and checked the shed

13:24

anyway. So did check that out. And he said, you

13:26

know, he loves the stories on the show.

13:28

He loves supernatural stuff, but he says definitely

13:31

tries to be skeptical and over critical about

13:33

everything. And this this just never made sense to

13:35

him. So thank you for sharing. if any

13:37

listeners out there have any ideas, please let

13:39

us know. Leave a comment below and maybe

13:41

Josh can read those and maybe he'll have

13:43

some insight, something you hadn't thought of. Yeah,

13:45

fascinating. So thank you. Thank you for your

13:48

service, Josh. Keeping us safe from the spooks. All

13:51

right, next up. You ready? You ready? Yeah. All

13:53

right, clock in guys. All right, We're going

13:55

back to work. Check out. Trying

13:57

to make a a fun little work reference. That's how you do it. This

14:00

next story is excellent. This comes from

14:02

a great friend of the show, great friend of us. He

14:04

also grew up in this town. So it's kind of a

14:06

a hometown episode a little bit here. Brian is

14:08

his name. So lives up in

14:10

Ann Arbor, Michigan. He's got a a band, great band

14:12

called Head Full of Ghosts, He plays a lot of shows.

14:14

He's in a lot of pubs and a lot of

14:16

places he gets familiar with through that as well

14:18

as his work where he travels around Ann Arbor

14:20

and gets hired to clean. pubs,

14:22

restaurants, businesses, retreats,

14:25

and the homes also of the rich and famous

14:27

up there in Ann Arbor. And And one

14:29

night he gets a gig for a new

14:31

listing of a a home being sold. And

14:33

it's a listing that seems to come

14:35

up a lot, unusually often actually on sites. And there

14:37

is a specific reason for that, which

14:39

Brian learns. in the story. This

14:42

is called This House is Clean,

14:44

which is a poltergeist reference.

14:46

Yes. John, did you remember

14:48

that? I certainly do. All right.

14:50

Clean. How I not

14:52

know that? Do You know the the

14:54

lady? I thought it was clear. This house is

14:57

clean. I thought it was clear too. but

14:59

Is this a Mandela? Mandela effect?

15:01

Mandela effect? I

15:03

was like, who's Mandela? I don't know. This

15:05

house is clean, clear. This is is the only one

15:07

I could find. It's some, I think, some stoned

15:09

women watching this clip and they cannot

15:11

stop laughing. But this is the moment the

15:14

film. where they laugh. Look at you. I

15:27

just that for some reason Weird. A lot of people hated

15:29

that video But that is the quote from

15:31

the film. So I thought it was perfect. He's cleaning the house. Okay.

15:34

Hopefully that made sense. It's

15:36

John Froese. No. Okay. He's he's there. I'm just smiling.

15:39

It's just taking it all in. Anyways, this Brian,

15:41

Thank you for submitting this, my friend. this happening

15:43

in Arbor, Michigan? sometime ago. Well,

15:51

hello. Hello. Belief hold

15:54

divers. This is Brian

15:56

Michigan, and this is my haunted

15:59

work release. ghost story. So

16:02

working for a cleaning company,

16:04

we had an appointment to meet

16:06

a realtor at a house

16:08

in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and we

16:10

get there and realtor explained to

16:12

us that this house is

16:14

supposedly haunted. Apparently

16:18

there have been a couple of

16:20

that have lived there over

16:22

the short term a couple years a

16:25

time, and the house just kept

16:27

going up for sale and each family

16:29

would state that the house was

16:31

haunted. So hearing that,

16:33

upon entering this place, you're

16:35

already, you know you're already

16:37

sort of freaked out, but

16:40

were two peculiar things about this house

16:42

while we were there to clean. One One

16:45

would have been the

16:47

children's bedroom, which had

16:49

large mirrors that were

16:51

sliding doors over the

16:53

closet and some of

16:55

the mirrors were broken and

16:58

then others were others were actually

17:00

painted over with paint.

17:03

and I I remember that being kind of peculiar, especially

17:05

in the process of selling a house, you

17:07

would think that they would have fixed these things,

17:10

but there they were. And the

17:12

realtor did say that that was

17:14

the kids room and that the kids

17:16

would complain about seeing things in

17:19

those mirrors and reflections of things

17:21

in the mirrors and it just

17:23

drove them crazy. So, being

17:25

in that room while cleaning definitely

17:29

vibes all around. and

17:31

then the other peculiar thing

17:33

while I was there was was

17:35

cleaning the primary bedroom and working

17:37

my way back toward the

17:40

door. I I knew there

17:42

was a ceiling fan in the

17:44

center of the room and

17:46

as I'm walking underneath it, I

17:48

felt what I assumed to be

17:51

the ceiling fan pullstrings the

17:53

back of my head, which,

17:55

you know, I I

17:57

was expecting that. So

18:00

I'm working my way backward, I reach

18:02

up to pull those strings to turn

18:04

the fans on and were no strings

18:06

There was nothing there The

18:11

fans I mean I felt this

18:13

this object touch the back of my

18:15

head roll down my neck and

18:17

like across my ear So

18:21

again, come into this place and hearing what

18:23

the realtor said about it and then

18:25

to have that strange occurrence so

18:27

quickly I was just freaked out and

18:30

couldn't wait to get out of

18:32

there the whole place had had a

18:34

a bad energy and I'd

18:36

be curious today to see

18:38

if it's still for sale or

18:40

you know, if there's anybody there

18:43

any crazy experiences, but

18:46

The the realtor did say that

18:48

that was the reason for the

18:50

listing and just never heard that before

18:52

So Um, yeah, that's

18:55

my story. Thanks guys. Oh

18:58

thanks Brian. Brian. Yeah, thank you, Brian.

19:00

Good to hear your voice friend.

19:02

Yeah been too long Creepy. so

19:04

Anytime there's painted over with Yeah, that's

19:07

that's not a good sign I

19:09

remember him telling that story in

19:11

person. Yeah, it's giving Excuse me, goosebumps.

19:13

I love the that felt

19:15

the the fan, the weird string down

19:18

his neck and just thinking then realizing after

19:20

not there. It's just such a creepy

19:22

over his ear. just something just caressing

19:24

him from the other side. Hello,

19:27

Brian Probably to feel his roughly

19:29

beard my I can almost

19:31

feel that in the back of neck. Yeah,

19:33

it's a very specific feeling. Great description. I

19:35

would like to know the history of

19:37

that house because it'd be interesting to

19:39

hear He said that it's, you know, the

19:41

realtor told them like, this is haunted. Yeah.

19:44

it comes up for sale all the

19:46

time because no one wants to stay in

19:48

there And the reason why the window, mirrors

19:50

were painted black was because the children said

19:52

they kept seeing things In those mirrors

19:54

and it was driving them crazy. So they

19:56

painted the mirrors. I don't know if they they

19:58

were built into the wall or why you wouldn't

20:00

just remove the mirror Or if there's

20:02

something even darker going on. It not like they

20:04

were the doors. right like the sliding door, doors

20:06

for the closet. that's true. I thought you were about the doors

20:08

of the because paint black. Oh, that's The Rolling

20:10

Stones. Oh, great song by the way Is a

20:12

really Great song. Oh, I didn't realize that. It

20:14

was the theme song to The Stir of Echoes. Oh,

20:17

you're right Yeah. Kevin Bacon. Great movie.

20:19

I think I was thinking the end.

20:21

Oh, okay. It's It kind of has a

20:23

similar vibe. Yeah, good music.

20:25

Yeah But yeah, speaking music, Brian is a fantastic

20:27

talented drummer in his band head full

20:29

of Ghosts, by the way, Chris I got

20:31

to go to a a fan meet greet

20:33

last year for Halloween. That was fun

20:35

Oh, yeah, we went we did a

20:37

little belief hole fan last year. That was fun.

20:39

At their concert Yeah. Shout out to any of that

20:41

were there. Um, but yeah, I found

20:43

it fascinating that the realtor told him that

20:45

That they're selling because of, because you

20:47

don't hear that I know that it's

20:49

something that you're not really supposed to hide,

20:52

but I'm sure it depends on the state But

20:54

yeah, yeah, and maybe he maybe they felt comfortable

20:56

telling him because you know, he wasn't the one

20:58

buying the home Yeah. but

21:00

yeah unsettling. Yeah, you never know.

21:02

Let us know Brian, you if you anything else out that

21:04

place if you ever get hired to go back,

21:06

it sounds like it it does go up

21:08

for sale quite often So if you ever go

21:10

back, let us know we'll come along It'll kind

21:12

of interesting Do a cleaning. But Thanks

21:15

for sharing. Yeah. Thank you Brian. What's

21:17

next goo master? That's my name

21:21

We are going go across the pond. We're We're Thank gonna

21:23

go over to Scotland now Actually, Brian's heritage,

21:25

he's Scottish descent. So it kind of works out. We're

21:27

gonna gonna it also works out weirdly because

21:30

this story that takes place in

21:32

Scotland this happens to a very young

21:34

nurse named Rachel, she's working at a

21:36

nursing home And she's only 17 at

21:38

the time and it's night She

21:40

decided to get experience and to make

21:42

some extra money She would work at

21:44

the late shift the shift and

21:47

is still awake in the ward

21:49

That shouldn't even be alive But

21:52

it's funny because she's hoovering. you know

21:54

Brian was detailing a home when

21:56

he had his account and she's vacuuming

21:58

when she has her account. So yes, similar. attributes

22:00

there well Hoovering, Hoovering, Um, this is called

22:03

Channel Changer. Hello,

22:05

my name is Rachel. I I

22:07

in Scotland. And I've

22:10

got a story about working in

22:12

a nursing home. So

22:14

I was 17 at the time and I

22:16

worked night shifts just for a bit of

22:18

experience and a a bit of money as well. So

22:21

there was one night shift. I

22:23

got everyone into their beds and I

22:25

had had to do the cleaning duties.

22:27

So So I was wiping stuff down,

22:30

had to do the hoovering, et

22:32

cetera and just make sure everything was

22:34

okay. So this

22:37

point I'd got the Hoover from the cupboard, and

22:40

I'd done one side and I was

22:42

going into the kind of living areas you

22:44

know where the TV is sitting areas

22:47

So I was in there the TV was still So

22:52

I to turn it off because, well,

22:54

there's nobody in there, so I

22:56

turned it off. I

22:58

turned around to go plug in the hoover,

23:01

and then the turned back

23:03

on and I was

23:06

like well, that's just weird right?

23:09

So go turn it off again

23:11

and it comes back on again

23:15

And was a bit freaked out this

23:17

point, I was like I'm just gonna

23:19

finish hoovering, and get out of here

23:21

so finish hoovering everything's fine the

23:23

TV this time stays off thank

23:25

goodness And

23:27

I back down the hallway to finish the

23:29

other part. And

23:33

once I've turned around I hear I

23:36

couldn't make up a noise like he

23:38

was saying was a man's voice shouting

23:40

down the hallway. Think I'll tell

23:42

you the bad news. And

23:45

I thought, oh, maybe of my residences got up, so I

23:47

went to go check and there was nobody to

23:49

wait. Everyone was fast asleep. And

23:52

I was the only one on that side

23:54

of the floor. I was

23:56

by myself, I

23:58

heard this man's voice. kind

24:00

of shouting like close

24:03

behind me and I turned around

24:05

there's nobody there. It

24:08

freaked me out quite a bit to

24:10

be honest. I've

24:13

also got another quick story from

24:15

I I work in a hospital

24:18

now where we had a patient pass

24:20

away in a side room and

24:24

there was um call alarms you have

24:26

to physically push them for them

24:28

to go off. Like

24:30

this patient had passed maybe an hour or

24:32

two ago. were Erin in doing the

24:34

general stuff and then we get we

24:36

hear the noise of the buzzer going off. Really

24:39

Oh that's strange we go to check who's buzzer it

24:41

was. It It was the empty

24:43

room there's

24:45

in there and

24:49

was a bit creepy. I only did it

24:52

it once. It's like probably

24:54

an electrical fault. I mean

24:56

know. Could have been. I'm

24:59

a bit superstitious at times like my

25:01

patients do pass away I do open

25:03

the windows. You

25:06

know there's superstition they to let their soul

25:08

away. You

25:10

know out the window and all that. so

25:13

always do that but those

25:15

are my stories from working in

25:17

health care. Hope you enjoy. really

25:19

enjoy listening to the podcast thank

25:22

you. Bye. Thank

25:28

you. Thank you Rachel yeah thanks Rachel yeah

25:31

the first time we've heard that

25:33

superstition. No it's funny because remember

25:35

hearing that superstition before the windows opening

25:37

allowing souls to be released

25:39

into the wild and I

25:41

that they'd said in that specific hospital

25:43

or nursing home rather don't

25:45

open the windows if they ask to

25:47

open the don't do it because they

25:50

will die. What? Yeah I remember that weird. I thought

25:52

that's what they said in that previous

25:54

story we did that was more like

25:56

warning if you thought open the window

25:58

there's a good likelihood that they seems

26:00

so weird. Yeah. I like the cat. the

26:02

cat. Yeah, Right, We had that

26:04

listener right. The animals up. Yeah. Going

26:06

into people's rooms right before they

26:08

die because they know. Well, they're soul stealers. They're

26:11

soul stealers, they They eat the stealers. She for Satan. That's what

26:13

used to think they used to steal baby's

26:15

breath. right? Right. to That was the old superstition.

26:18

Yeah. Don't let a cat in

26:20

the crib. No one likes cats. The-

26:23

Just kidding. The young woman who sent in

26:25

her story that we did on Jake's episode

26:28

with the cat, she was a nurse and

26:30

she talked about that. Actually, we be doing one

26:32

from her later this episode, but she

26:34

talks more about that window issue and how

26:36

at her place, they had gotten rid

26:38

of that policy. I guess over time, she

26:40

wasn't there, but over generations, she talked to

26:42

nurses been there for 50 years and they

26:45

said that they used to open the

26:47

windows, but then because the administration was worried

26:49

that patients would fall out and kill

26:51

themselves that they boarded up the, didn't board up the

26:53

windows, but they basically fixed them shut So

26:55

couldn't open them anymore. And apparently

26:57

the nurses were pretty resistant to that policy

26:59

because they truly believed that you needed to open

27:01

the windows, at least in that hospital. But

27:03

I I have heard other way way too, they're like, don't

27:06

open the window unless you want your patient to

27:08

die. So So that the trick to being immortal?

27:10

Keep the windows closed? I don't

27:12

know I feel like it you alive. It just might keep you

27:15

from leaving. maybe. Oh. Or letting things

27:17

in. I think that was kind of the

27:19

story too. Huh? Like letting in the the harbingers or the,

27:21

you know, to help people to help you pass

27:23

over. mean, John, you made a good point during

27:25

the story. know, like, do you think a

27:27

pane of glass is going to stop a spirit?

27:29

But at the same time, I feel like

27:31

we we the Gi -Yun episode and

27:33

there were these of like regulations that

27:35

spirit spirits sometimes can follow or or be

27:38

confused about like, well, if not invited

27:40

to leave, can I leave? You know,

27:42

that kind of thing. Yeah, Yeah, more like intention-based.

27:44

Yeah. Yeah, it could be like a feng

27:46

shui kind of thing, like energy, you

27:48

know? Yeah, my play a role.

27:50

That's why John has that blanket his

27:52

window right now because you never know.

27:54

That's right. It's a blessed blanket. Hopefully.

27:57

I did appreciate the the hoovering. That

27:59

is a great. one. word that isn't used

28:01

over here anymore in this country. But

28:03

that was, it's funny because we live like 15

28:05

minutes from where that comes from. The

28:07

Hoover plant. Oh, Oh, Hoover the Hoover factory? Yeah, the factory North

28:09

Ken. Yeah, that was like Frank C. Hoover Hoover or something

28:11

that started the, I don't know if if that he

28:13

invented the vacuum, but he was like the

28:16

most popular, kind of like in some places

28:18

where the, or or like Kleenex. Yeah, so I So was

28:20

was the, thinking. Tissue paper, but we refer to

28:22

it as Kleenex because that was the

28:24

popular brand. But yeah, Hoover. Yeah.

28:26

Hoovering. Fascinating story, Jeremy. Any Hoover.

28:29

Any Hoover. Are these all

28:31

vacuum stories today, Chris? Yes. Chris. Or,

28:33

oh, cool. No, Jeremy. No, not all vacuum stories, but I

28:35

thought those went went well, so they did. Oh,

28:39

next story is excellent, actually. It triggered

28:41

an entirely other themed episode. The

28:43

guy who submitted the story had a

28:45

good idea for the title of

28:47

that sort of themed episode, but I

28:49

thought it might be a while we get

28:52

a lot of correction officers reports to

28:54

show. So paranormal accounts. Yeah. He was

28:56

our first one we ever got. So just thought

28:58

we would include on the workplace episode, but this

29:00

next story takes place behind the cold concrete

29:02

walls of a Maryland facility where

29:05

one officer working the graveyard

29:07

shift literally something

29:09

that never made it into

29:11

the prison log. Hmm.

29:13

Or maybe it did. I don't know if

29:15

he actually, if he they recorded this experience,

29:17

but it sounds dramatic. This comes to us

29:20

from Nathan. Last name anonymous

29:22

for you guys. And this

29:24

happened in MD, is is that? Maryland.

29:26

you. Maryland. That's right. already said Maryland.

29:28

This happened in Maryland. This happened in This

29:30

is called to life. to Life. 30

29:33

to, is it 30 to Isn't after life? Oh, sorry. 30

29:35

to 30 to afterlife. Nice.

29:42

I was a correctional officer for the state

29:44

of Maryland for 10 years until I

29:46

got injured and was forced to retire. The

29:49

first incident happened my second year.

29:51

I was doing a tear in

29:53

the segue unit was stopped by an

29:55

inmate from his cell asking for

29:57

some toilet paper. Hey officer. I

30:01

need some toilet paper. The

30:05

cell had a mattress and a few

30:07

things segregation inmates were allowed to have. I

30:10

went back to the control center.

30:12

the place where we can open

30:14

the doors. Our computer is in

30:16

there and inmates can't get in. Anyway,

30:19

I asked the other officers if we

30:21

had any toilet paper downstairs and that

30:23

I needed to get it for the

30:25

guy in cell 36 on C-tier. on C -tier. They

30:27

said that the cell should be

30:30

empty. I said, no, there's

30:32

someone in there and he wants TP. Then

30:35

I look at the board and there was no name for

30:37

that cell. It's

30:40

segregation unit so it's not like they can

30:42

get out. And if they do, it's with

30:44

an officer escort. So I go

30:46

back up to the cell. and

30:51

it was completely empty. It

30:53

freaked me out a little bit, but I just rolled

30:55

with it. On

30:58

another occasion, I was working with

31:00

midnight shift and and roll call we

31:02

were told inmates so so was

31:04

stabbed today and passed away. I

31:07

was on escort duty that night and

31:09

my duty was to do a a full

31:11

walk around the compound between the three razor

31:13

wire fences on the path that was

31:15

there. So it's like or

31:17

1240 ish or 1240 -ish and there

31:20

should be no one out

31:22

there inmate or officer wise honestly. except

31:24

me. I around

31:26

to the big yard part of my walk

31:28

and in the middle of the yard,

31:30

I see someone standing there. I

31:34

my walk. And they

31:36

are there still. Part of my

31:38

walk is to open the gate door

31:40

at the big yard and walk across

31:42

the spot they are standing. I

31:45

call out to them thinking it might be one

31:47

of my buddies messing with me. But

31:49

he's wearing the inmate blues that they

31:51

wear. I then think,

31:53

okay we got one trying to

31:55

escape maybe. Looking back I should

31:58

have radioed in but wasn't thinking. I

32:00

got closer, and they started

32:02

to sway a bit. When

32:04

I got about 20 yards to them, they

32:07

disappeared. What the hell? Needless

32:11

to say, I noped on out of

32:13

there, and had probably one of the quickest

32:16

rounds I've ever done. Sorry

32:18

for the long story, but I felt like I

32:20

needed to tell you guys, and you would like

32:22

to read it. Anyways, love the show and keep

32:24

up the great work, and can't wait to listen

32:26

to the next show. Man,

32:28

Well, thanks, Nathan. Yeah, freaky.

32:31

I mean, would not want to be, I I mean, you're, Oh,

32:33

man. one of I the worst

32:35

places probably be stuck. Yeah, that would be

32:37

creepy as hell. I mean, yeah. Prisons

32:39

are just... Whew. Whew!

32:41

Exactly I was going to say. You took

32:43

the sound effect right out of my

32:45

mouth. Prisons are just... Whew! just

32:47

whew. I mean, they're creepy to to with.

32:49

At night, I'm sure. you know, I mean, you

32:51

got the real life. Real Real danger? Yeah.

32:54

Yeah. Mixed Mixed with danger. Yeah, think of

32:56

the energy. that would be such a hard job, I feel like.

32:58

it's a place that has capital punishment. Yeah,

33:00

have, a know, of gas chambers or electric

33:02

chairs and all of the come sorrow

33:04

and anguish and anxiety and, you know,

33:06

violence that happens in prisons. Imagine all

33:08

that energy there. Yeah. Yucky. No, no,

33:10

thanks. That would be such a hard

33:12

job, I and feel like. Yeah. Be a

33:15

corrections officer. Yeah. Obviously, a lot of

33:17

these stories that we're covering, a lot

33:19

of them come from places that have

33:21

all this kind of torment wrapped in,

33:23

whether it's, you know, existential anguish. You

33:25

might get in nursing homes or in prisons. The

33:27

of vacuuming. The dangers of vacuuming. Houses Ann Arbor.

33:29

Yes. Yeah. So it's interesting to get

33:31

kind of a range of a range of locations. Yeah.

33:33

Yeah. Cool. Well, thank you for sharing

33:36

that story. for sharing I hope you I hope

33:38

you safe working there. Yeah. Oh wait, does

33:40

he Oh, wait, does he works there? No,

33:42

I think he's retired now. Oh, good. That's

33:44

good. glad you made it. That's a

33:46

dangerous job. Yeah, thanks for sharing that. Yeah. Yeah,

33:48

absolutely. I'm going to use noped out of there

33:50

going to now on. from now on. Noped on? A

33:52

noped on out there. Nope.

33:56

Not going to do it. That's probably what I would

33:58

say in that situation. I'd be like, no. Nope. Nope.

34:01

sure that's where the movie name

34:03

comes from for Jordan Peele. The title?

34:05

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Popular phrase these

34:07

days? these days? Yeah. Well,

34:09

it seems like there's a menagerie

34:11

of spirits out there. Good spirits, bad

34:13

spirits, and different spirits. And then

34:15

there's the spirits of mankind's old friend,

34:17

alcohol. And as I'm sure many

34:19

of you out there are aware, that

34:21

can be a pretty rough haunting in

34:23

the morning. Oh, Oh, God, I just don't feel

34:26

good. But all hope is not lost

34:28

for that transition into the waking world.

34:30

And And a surefire way to make that

34:32

transition as smooth as possible is by having

34:34

pre-alcohol the ready. This

34:36

episode brought to you by Z-Biotics. Z-Biotics -alcohol probiotic

34:38

drink is the world's first genetically engineered probiotic.

34:40

It was invented by PhD to tackle rough

34:42

mornings after drinking. Here's how it works.

34:45

When you drink, alcohol gets converted into a

34:47

toxic byproduct in the gut. It's this

34:49

byproduct, not dehydration, that's to blame for your

34:51

rough next day. Pre -alcohol Alcohol an enzyme to

34:53

break this byproduct down. Just remember to

34:55

make pre -alcohol your first drink of the

34:57

night. Drink responsibly and you'll feel your best

35:00

tomorrow. You guys have probably heard me say

35:02

this before, but I was pretty on

35:04

the fence when I heard about a pre

35:06

-alcohol drink that was supposed to help you stave

35:08

off the effects of too many cocktails.

35:10

So I put it to the test and

35:12

I was honestly really pleased to discover

35:15

that it didn't have the same anxiety or

35:17

lethargy the next morning. In fact, I

35:19

woke up feeling pretty upbeat and went on

35:21

a 10 mile bike ride. Don't take it

35:23

from me, you You the can try it yourself. And

35:25

with the holiday season coming up, I

35:27

know the drinks are going to be flowing

35:29

a little more than usual. But with pre-alcohol,

35:32

I can stay on track and not

35:34

let the season throw me off. Lord knows

35:36

I'm going to need it because the

35:38

whole is a wild beast this time of

35:40

year. So So it a

so far. second is coming up. Yes,

36:11

second shift indeed. We will be coming back

36:13

for the night shift to join our

36:15

storytellers on the greater shift. So definitely want to stick

36:17

around for that. We've got some excellent

36:19

stories coming up going to be in Australia

36:21

and back in the States well. So in But

36:24

Jeremy, what is coming up in the members

36:26

episode? I don't know. Oh,

36:29

Oh, I I mean, I do. Okay, So

36:31

here's the thing is I woke up. the

36:33

other day and I was who

36:35

was watching and there's an ambience on it. It was a

36:37

a pirate ship, I love pirates. Pirate ambience

36:39

is something about that The magic, you

36:41

know the adventure Mr. Cool over here. and cool.

36:44

I was like, I we could just do an episode like like pirate ghosts legends

36:46

and stuff, but I don't know if the guys guys be down

36:48

for that. It'd be be fun. Like John Like

36:50

said, I think giant skeletons were giant board. on board. long

36:53

as there's 10 foot skeletons and Yes, dog man. Always

36:55

selling point with pirate stories. So Then were driving later. I

36:57

was like, Chris, I I don't know what to do

36:59

for the expansion. There's so many options. so many options

37:01

and I don't know where my heart is guiding

37:03

me. And you're like, I just want to like pirates. I think I

37:05

said, why don't you do one on pirates? I

37:07

don't know why I said that. I was like, that's

37:09

so weird, Twin brain. So I took it as a

37:11

sign. it started sign. I into into pirates some pretty cool

37:13

ghost stories about black beard these kinds of things. of

37:16

Some pretty awesome adventure stories in there too. It

37:18

like a fun. But then I then my mind. my mind. Okay.

37:21

I think we might do. well, let's see.

37:23

Well, let's see. see. Then I, a topic I've been

37:25

wanting to cover for a long Mongolian death

37:27

form. The Mongolian death worm. The Mongolian death know, but I want

37:29

it to be a a main episode. Maybe it

37:31

shouldn't be. but but I'm excited

37:33

to do that one. That seems more like an

37:35

expansion, to be honest. And by that you

37:37

mean even better and saved members. I know. you always to

37:39

keep worms in the expansion. Worms

37:41

belong on the front line. just seems a little

37:43

bit more out there. Yeah, I mean, it's

37:45

a classic it's classic cryptid story, but but anyway,

37:48

well, what I think we're gonna be doing

37:50

this time, a a topic we've touched on

37:52

in the past with a book I referenced

37:54

before called the UFO danger zone, the Chupa

37:56

Chupa, if you will. Oh,

37:58

vampire UFOs, right? UFOs. UFOs these

38:00

things that were attacking on

38:03

the land coming from the water

38:05

these shooting lasers and

38:07

stealing blood allegedly, which

38:09

ties into a lot of phenomena, but

38:11

But I've been wanting this forever and I just... Blood thieves.

38:13

Blood That's a great title. Actually a great title,

38:15

actually. Oh boy. It's getting really loud.

38:17

Does it anything to do with lawnmowers? they they

38:19

to be coming They are us.

38:22

they're like right top of me here.

38:24

Get out here Beardsley. I

38:26

think Corey's wife listens to this show. If you're listening... Get

38:29

him I Tell out ahead of time

38:31

before he mows our Stop Stop our lawn. Oh,

38:34

it stopped. Holy crap. Well, It's just turned off. Maybe

38:36

he's listening right crap. Somebody said just stream

38:38

off. the basement. he's listening right now

38:42

Direct stream to the basement. Anyway,

38:44

so yeah, so may be doing this

38:46

fascinating story of these these vampire

38:48

UFOs attacking from the sky And

38:50

as I was saying there's a Netflix documentary series

38:52

that just came out that looks

38:54

really good featuring George Knapp. Oh yeah, and

38:56

his his exploration into recent

38:59

sightings and coming out about

39:01

UFOs with the congressional hearings But

39:03

beyond that some freaky stories and going into

39:05

the lore of Brazil these chupa-chupas, as

39:07

they're called Right, which talked about

39:09

before on our episodes but might do

39:11

a deeper dive into. Right. Or pirates. Yeah,

39:13

so anyways guys check out the

39:16

expansion guys, check out the be fascinating to be

39:18

39:57

we'll see you after the break By

40:04

the afternoon of November

40:07

21st, Maynard's sloops had reached

40:09

the southern tip of Okracoke. They

40:12

soon spied two sloops at

40:14

the anchor in an

40:16

inlet facing Plamico Sound, which to

40:18

this day is known as Teaches or

40:20

Thatch's Hole. Hole. With

40:22

evening coming on, Maynard anchored the

40:24

jain and the ranger for the night,

40:27

unaware of the force by

40:30

nearby Blackbeard. along

40:33

with about 20 of his men, on

40:36

board the sloop adventure, spent

40:38

that evening drinking and

40:40

carousing local trader Samuel

40:42

O'Dell, who had arrived

40:44

earlier on his own sloop. The

40:46

following morning the sea was calm

40:49

and the winds very light, and the

40:51

only sounds to be heard were

40:53

birds greeting the break of day. At

40:55

nine, Maynard ordered the ranger

40:57

to make way for the

40:59

sloops, still not certain that

41:01

one of them was Blackbeard's. The

41:04

Jane close behind. Welcome

41:27

back to another episode of Anything Ghost,

41:29

where we talk about anything but ghosts, but

41:31

sometimes ghosts. That's not the

41:34

show. It may be though. be,

41:36

though. a future show. We're thinking about it.

41:38

Sometimes we need to decompress in a a show

41:40

where we talk about literally everything else besides

41:42

ghosts. Hey, leave a comment if you're

41:44

interested in a a show called Anything Ghost, but

41:46

it has... it has, it's basically like belief

41:48

hole the ghosts. Yeah, but

41:50

sometimes ghosts. goes. But sometimes ghosts. Yeah. Yeah. It's basically like

41:52

us talking and and all sorts of fun

41:54

conversations. You know, know we on those tangents and we

41:56

talking about a a movie we saw when

41:58

we were 15. old. years old and that of thing,

42:01

that's kind of when it would be. Some

42:03

people would like it, some people would hate

42:05

it, but it'd be fun to try. Some

42:07

behind the scenes conversations are quite entertaining, which

42:09

is the reason. Absolutely. But anyways, that's for another

42:11

day. Yeah, today we're talking about ghosts. That's

42:16

right, well, not just ghosts. Specific. Any strange

42:18

thing on the job, which reminds me, not

42:20

to be a taskmaster, but did you guys clock

42:22

in? Cause Because didn't see you clock in.

42:24

Kirk, Kirk. Kirk? you I used to actually

42:26

have to do that when I worked

42:29

as a janitor at a grass company. I still

42:31

have nightmares about punching a card. I had

42:33

a physical card. I the feeling though. I I

42:35

felt like I was earning. I guess Jerry

42:37

Queen. I did. It does. That kind of makes the sound

42:39

like a cash register. Yeah. chicken just has this

42:41

kind of pay. Oh, pay. I keep having nightmares that

42:43

I check in and I work a bunch

42:45

of hours and I completely forget to get

42:47

my paycheck for

42:50

like later. Feels metaphorical. You know it's weird?

42:52

I was kind of sad. I've been having

42:54

dreams lately that I'm back at Starbucks and

42:56

then I remember that don't work there and then

42:58

I go, I I want to work

43:00

here again. And then I wake up. because

43:04

I'm like round people and

43:06

your community. There's ladies of boot.

43:09

There's ladies a boot. Anyways,

43:11

that was a preview of anything but ghosts.

43:14

Yeah, there you go. little tangent. It'll

43:16

be movies and... And yes, but we were

43:18

back on the clock on the work site

43:20

looking for some spooks, some strange occurrences. Hey, now

43:22

let's keep the language down. I I mean

43:24

it that way. All

43:27

right. Where do you guys want to go? There's a

43:29

lot of different jobs on the table right now.

43:31

How about I do the, a bribe

43:33

from the man the room, to 17. 217.

43:38

Oh, that's a good one. Oh, that is a

43:40

great one. This would be an eerie on the job

43:42

experience. Yeah, this is really a great story.

43:45

We're hop down to Australia for this one

43:47

to hear from Jay Crow. Whoop. He was at 16.

43:49

He's only 16 when he entered the the

43:51

quiet halls of an age facility and he

43:53

was eager to get some experience and

43:55

oh boy, did he get some experience. Oh

43:58

boy. Yeah. so. So happened

44:00

to him in Brighton, Brisbane,

44:03

Australia in 1996. I'm

44:05

ready. All right. It's called A bribe

44:07

from the man in Room 217. When

44:10

I was I was 16, we had

44:12

work experience opportunities while in high

44:14

school. I was interested in aged

44:17

care, especially after having performed World War

44:19

II songs at local nursing homes

44:21

in my school choir since I was

44:23

11. So So I was accepted for

44:25

work experience at a local aged facility. On

44:28

my first day of a week's placement,

44:30

I had a 30 -minute lunch break

44:32

and was encouraged to explore the building.

44:34

And if I had any questions about

44:36

how the facility functioned, my assigned supervisor

44:39

was more than happy to answer them

44:41

after lunch. So So tried to

44:43

use the time wisely and took the

44:45

elevator to the top floor where dementia patients

44:47

were kept in secure rooms so they

44:49

didn't wander about and get injured. When

44:59

I stepped out of the elevator,

45:01

I introduced myself to the nurse

45:03

and orderly and showed my work experience

45:05

badge. I then walked down

45:07

the two wings of the floor, greeting

45:10

other nurses that were moving back and

45:12

forward between the various rooms. Towards

45:14

the end of the east wing, as I

45:16

walked past one room, I I heard bashing

45:19

on the door from the inside. I

45:24

around, surprised, and

45:26

saw an elderly man looking at me through the

45:28

small window in the door. He

45:32

yelled, I'll give you a five

45:34

if you let me out. I

45:36

apologized told him I was just

45:38

a work experience kid. But

45:41

I was a bit shaken. I took note

45:43

of the room number and headed back to

45:45

the nurse's station at a trot. I

45:49

told the head nurse what had happened

45:51

and the room number. She

45:53

looked at me for a moment and started to

45:55

laugh. I asked her what was so funny.

45:58

She said, just to

46:00

play little pranks on work experience students, not

46:02

for you to play pranks on us. I

46:06

didn't know what to say or

46:08

do, so I looked at the big

46:10

orderly and he wasn't smiling. I

46:12

started to ask what was happening and he

46:14

shook his head and said, that room

46:16

has been empty for a month, bro. I

46:19

started to insist on what had happened and he

46:21

walked me back to the room. Sure

46:26

enough, the door was open, the

46:28

bed was clean and the room was

46:30

otherwise empty. I

46:33

to panic a bit and looked up at

46:35

the orderly. He just shrugged

46:37

and said, if you want to work here,

46:39

you got to be ready for this kind of sh**. I

46:42

chose another career path. Might

46:45

be wise, that was great. was Where

46:47

did you get this story? get this story?

46:49

Uh, listener, Jay Crow. Oh, Oh, okay. that's cool.

46:51

Yeah. John, this is a listener John,

46:53

episode. I I wasn't sure if all of

46:55

them were. Yeah. these guys are all

46:57

from our red listeners out there. Uh, well, Jay,

47:00

I I think you saw a ghost. Sounds

47:02

like like interacted with a ghost. I'll

47:05

give you a five if you let me out. Was

47:07

that pretty much like his voice? Oh, ask him.

47:09

yeah. I'll give you a five if you

47:11

let me out. Oh, that's really sad if you

47:13

think about it. Yeah, that's what I was

47:15

thinking. That's is I a pretty horrible, Like it is a pretty

47:17

horrible, you know, unless he was a really bad guy

47:19

and that's, he's, that's of his punishment. He's just kind

47:21

of stuck in between in there in that room.

47:25

Well, I assume let me out means like out

47:27

of the room like, yeah. Yeah. when he was living

47:29

there. Well, what else would it mean? it mean?

47:31

said five him out because he's stuck there between worlds.

47:33

Yeah, but maybe that's his punishment his he,

47:35

you know he, I mean? Yeah, what I mean? Like he didn't,

47:37

think he's playing a prank on that? Maybe

47:39

he's in on the fun. Ooh,

47:41

maybe it's all his fun. Maybe Maybe

47:43

just likes being there and he understood

47:45

that they like to play pranks

47:47

on the new people. I like that, I

47:49

like that idea. that Yeah, so he wanted to

47:51

get some revenge for the new people. the

47:53

That's a nicer idea where he's just like taking

47:55

advantage of the, - He's not stuck there forever?

47:57

Yeah. Yeah, Yeah. terrible place to be stuck

47:59

forever. Yeah. of those places are nice. No, thank

48:02

you. Yeah, reminded me when he was saying that he

48:04

wanted to work in aged care. I I think it's

48:06

aged care. Is it aged care? I

48:08

I thought it was aged care. But then you you

48:10

at that. No, I'm sure it's not. I

48:12

just think it sounds funny. Aged care. It

48:14

reminded me of when we used to go

48:16

to nursing homes. That's how I was thinking.

48:18

Volunteer. Yeah, we went and Chris, your

48:20

story with a... Oh, yeah, I was was going to tell

48:22

that. I think it's a good experience for

48:24

you're young to go and be around older

48:26

people, especially like when there some people with dementia.

48:28

There was one poor woman. I I remember they

48:30

told me don't whatever you do. So So they gave

48:32

us flowers to give to the individuals who

48:34

are staying there. And they said, whatever you

48:36

do, don't give her. her anything. She

48:39

will eat anything you give to her, but I guess I didn't

48:41

believe that Or I was just I'm not

48:43

good at saying no. so when she wanted

48:45

my flower, I I gave it to her and she's

48:47

of slowly ate the petals and

48:49

and ran

48:51

away. Then I got... get somebody let

48:54

them know. That's very disturbing in a

48:56

way. It's like a movie scene. It's

48:58

sad. mean, that's probably some very

49:00

specific sort of dementia where it's

49:02

an intake thing. You like taste of flowers?

49:04

Well, it's in anything. Intake of. of Consume

49:06

things? Yeah, very sad. I mean. they

49:09

edible, most flowers. No,

49:11

they're not. Yes, they are. No.

49:14

Yeah. They're in a lot of dishes. I

49:16

I don't think most flowers are edible. Are

49:18

most flowers edible? This is the trivia moment of

49:20

the episode. I think most flowers are edible. I

49:22

I mean, some are probably poisonous, but most are

49:24

edible. Let's say say go out and start eating flowers.

49:27

I know rose petals for sure. But

49:29

some other ones too. It says not every

49:31

flower is edible. Well, you can eat it. Doesn't

49:33

mean it's going well. It it can make you

49:35

very, very sick. Yeah, well, that's still edible.

49:38

It's just poisonous. It said it important to proceed caution

49:40

because several flowers, I don't want to hear this. as,

49:42

Let let me quiz you then, Jeremy. Go

49:44

ahead. ahead. What is it? Okay. you

49:46

think a... What this? Anything but ghosts? Come on. Do Do

49:48

you think a rose is edible? Yes.

49:51

hmm, Rose petals. Do you think a daffodil is edible?

49:53

I take them day. They're not, they

49:55

are poisonous. You would die, Jeremy. That's

49:57

still edible, you can still eat

49:59

them. Butter. Cups are poisonous,

50:01

daffodils are poisonous, delphinium and

50:04

wisteria, fake news. Nicotenia, foxglove, larkspur, lily

50:06

the valley. Well, Well, foxglove.

50:08

Lupine, sweet pea. Lily the valleys

50:10

are poisonous? Yes. That's when

50:13

my tummy hurts. hurts.

50:17

How dare you. Anyway, I'm gonna keep eating my flowers,

50:19

but you guys can do what you want. you want. Okay,

50:21

that's fair. Jeremy's back in the, he's

50:23

back in the backyard eating his flowers again. Call

50:25

rabbit boy Jeremy. I did, actually, I had dandelion the other

50:27

day. He has a real problem. I was on

50:29

the trail and I saw a dandelion. I just

50:31

saw a YouTube video and YouTube never lies. Then you

50:33

can eat dandelions for energy. Dandelion soup. So I

50:35

ate the, the yolk out of the dandelion. It's

50:38

pretty good. It's not a not a yolk. It's yellow and it's,

50:40

it's a circular yellow thing. It's It's out a

50:42

seed harness. The seed harness. The

50:44

saddle. Seed saddle. Anyway. Anyway. Okay. Okay. but

50:46

ghosts. Anything We're gonna kind of go

50:48

in and out of these two

50:51

shows from on. on. That's

50:53

just gonna be a three hour. We just do them in the same

50:55

show. We don't to gonna have recording.

50:57

Jeremy, that bottle is ridiculous. It's

51:00

just water. You look like the the on.

51:02

skeleton from the last unicorn. The

51:04

skeleton? The drinks that just

51:06

wants wine all the time. Oh, Oh, is

51:08

that what he was? I forgot about that

51:10

part bottle line. like, wine. That is water though.

51:12

That's water. Jeremy likes to reuse wine

51:14

bottles. He's like, just give me a

51:16

taste. I remember that. I remember what it like.

51:18

Unicorn. Unicorn.

51:22

Unicorn. Unicorn.

51:24

Unicorn. Anyway,

51:26

I'm not a skeleton. But

51:29

he is. Well,

51:31

thank you, Jay, for that. for that. That a really good story.

51:33

good story. That's a great classic story with that

51:35

nice twist at the end that just ties it up

51:37

a nice creepy bow. hope hope what he's moved on. I I

51:39

hope he's found his way out. So

51:42

we've heard in this episode so far,

51:44

supernatural run -ins can happen anywhere, even

51:46

on the job. But most hauntings still

51:48

occur at home and usually in the safety

51:50

of your bedroom. But just because you

51:52

feel a strange shiver in the

51:54

room seems to drop in temperature. It

51:57

doesn't necessarily mean that you've got

51:59

a succubus or inky. a incubus sneaking towards your

52:01

bed. No, it it

52:03

doesn't necessarily mean that the veil thinning around

52:05

you. It might just be that you

52:07

don't have the best quality sheets. This

52:11

episode brought to you by Miracle

52:13

Maid Sheets. With Miracle Maid, you

52:15

don't have to confuse demonic possession

52:17

with poorly made bedding. Miracle

52:19

Maid Sheets use silver -infused fabrics that

52:21

are temperature regulated so you can sleep

52:23

soundly and snugly at just the

52:25

right temperature for you all night

52:27

long. And these silver -infused fabrics

52:29

within Miracle Maid's sheets prevent

52:31

up to of .7 % of bacterial growth, which

52:33

actually means that they stay fresh three times

52:35

longer than other sheets. And as I've said

52:37

many times before, one of my favorite

52:40

things about these sheets is just the comfort

52:42

factor. They've got a nice cool weight

52:44

to them. It makes you feel like you're

52:46

swaddled in the arms of some spiritual

52:48

guardian. Ready to carry

52:50

you off into some very

52:52

pleasing dream realm. So

53:14

All right, this next one is interesting. This is

53:16

a, We've been to a lot of hospitals

53:18

and nursing homes today so far with smattering of

53:20

some other locations. And this is definitely a

53:22

unique story. Jared, do you to set this

53:24

one up? Or I can set it up. I know you

53:26

have something to discuss about this after it. Sure.

53:29

This is a story that asks the

53:31

question as we advance in our technology, guys.

53:33

know, we talk about technology sometimes. We

53:35

do. Any Any musk out there, especially on

53:37

our other show, anything but ghosts. I

53:40

can't wait for the season premiere of that. of that.

53:42

But what unexpected paranormal discoveries

53:44

might be down the road, Jon.

53:47

And which of these roads may be haunted, right? That's

53:50

a question we like to ask,

53:52

especially in the automated automotive industry,

53:54

the autonomous car industry. Self -driving cars.

53:56

And that's where this story comes

53:58

from. Our next story comes from... former

54:00

driver actually, of an autonomous vehicle

54:02

industry who spent countless hours overseeing

54:04

a cutting edge -driving system. He

54:06

was kind of the panic button, he said. So So

54:09

would basically, you know know those taxis, there were

54:11

some Austin, we were there last. I think

54:13

They're called VIMP, they with a a V. Oh,

54:15

the company that was there? You're talking about

54:17

the autonomous ones? Yeah, yeah. There's a few

54:20

different companies. The ones that have like weird

54:22

spinning things? Yeah. So he So he for one

54:24

of those industries, one of those companies. He

54:26

didn't say who, right? Right. But he was basically

54:28

there to diagnose any issues and to be

54:30

a a panic button in case something did go

54:32

wrong to be a human behind the wheel

54:34

because they're picking up living people. But

54:37

maybe they would see some dead people. So

54:39

he's testing out the robot taxis essentially. Yeah. and

54:41

there was one particular. one particular stretch

54:43

road where a lot of these guys

54:45

were experiencing what he was experiencing. So

54:48

So us, won't you? This

54:50

is called, do machines see our

54:52

dead? And

54:55

here we go. Here we go. This

54:57

takes place in Phoenix, Arizona the day.

54:59

between 9 and 5 5 p .m. And this

55:01

comes to us from Kay. I

55:04

used to work in the autonomous vehicle industry

55:06

for one of the big -name companies that develop

55:08

software to make self -driving cars. Nowadays,

55:10

if you live in certain cities,

55:12

you may even have seen some of

55:14

these cars or cars like them

55:16

driving themselves around your streets with without a

55:18

driver. I used to be one of

55:20

these drivers. This mostly entailed sitting

55:23

in the driver's seat as a human

55:25

panic button, making sure nothing crazy happened

55:27

and keeping notes on the cars in case

55:29

there were any issues. Generally,

55:31

the software very intelligent. It

55:34

is consistently good at determining what

55:36

a person, what is a bush, what

55:38

is a motorcycle, etc. It

55:40

can even tell the difference between

55:42

adults and children just based on

55:44

radar or LiDAR. But there

55:46

always a spot along our

55:48

route where the software had

55:50

issues and that was the cemetery.

55:55

Every time I drive through the

55:57

radar would always pick up things weren't

56:00

there, or at least didn't appear to

56:02

be there. And to be clear, it

56:04

wasn't glitching out entirely. It

56:06

didn't think it saw bushes or motorcycles or

56:08

phantom cars, but it saw people. And

56:11

most of these people, according to

56:13

the system, were children. I

56:15

could see this on my dashboard,

56:17

the digital wireframe forms of people

56:19

populating here and there around the

56:21

headstones, milling about. Every

56:24

time I drove through the cemetery, this

56:26

was always the case. When I finally

56:28

had the curiosity and courage to bring

56:30

this up to my coworkers, I was

56:32

met with understanding. Apparently,

56:34

they had experienced this too.

56:38

I'm not in this line of work anymore, but

56:40

I've recently heard of this phenomenon on computer

56:42

systems too, which has only reinforced to me

56:44

that there is something at play here that

56:46

we don't understand. I don't pretend

56:49

to be an expert on every aspect

56:51

of this. I only know what I've experienced,

56:53

but it does make me wonder if someday

56:55

technology will cross a threshold we once

56:57

had no proof of existing at all. Love

56:59

the podcast. Thanks for keeping me

57:01

anonymous. I signed an NDA, OK.

57:06

Like that ending. Yeah, really interesting.

57:08

Thank you for sending that story. Yeah, it

57:10

is interesting. I would love to do

57:12

a do an AI episode. Catch up? Yeah. And I

57:14

digest that stuff all the time. We

57:17

never really bring it up on the

57:19

show. I know, it's such a fascinating, I

57:21

mean, it's just happening so fast at

57:23

this point. Yeah. It's definitely creepy. There's

57:25

a lot of potential, dark pathways we go

57:27

down. Yeah, also good. There's benefits to it too. That's

57:29

true. No, No, it's like the technology now.

57:32

It's It's a double edged sword. Yeah, It

57:34

can go either way. I mean, it can

57:36

be used either way. Yeah. exactly. But what do

57:38

you think about this story? Oh,

57:40

he's totally right. mean, if you look, look online,

57:42

some examples I found are Tesla. John, I I actually have

57:44

some that I can share with you.

57:46

This is something that happens regularly and I've seen,

57:48

I I watched a video, maybe I'll drop something

57:50

in of a guy

57:53

who was allegedly debunking the

57:55

in the cemeteries from Teslas

57:57

and other automatic cars. self-driving.

58:01

But he was essentially saying, like, look,

58:03

the sensors that they use are not

58:05

very sophisticated. They can't really distinguish

58:07

between different types of objects very well,

58:09

which sounds strange because that's kind of

58:11

the whole point, right? You can distinguish

58:13

so that the car can respond in

58:16

the best possible way. But that was

58:18

his argument. But it is like you like said

58:20

LIDAR different kinds of sensors. To

58:23

clarify, Tesla uses LiDAR

58:26

for data validation in in development

58:28

of its vehicles, but not in

58:30

its production of self -driving software. However,

58:33

LiDAR is used in the

58:35

Honda legend Mercedes-Benz Class and several

58:37

others. But is like you

58:39

like said LIDAR different kinds of sensors. So

58:41

the argument against that is, well, these

58:43

are actually, yeah, they're not perfect,

58:45

but you can see on the side of

58:47

the road when there's like walking a dog or

58:50

a child or a taller pedestrian or trees,

58:52

different sized cars. So it is weird. Like, know that

58:54

there's things that mess up with it, But when you see

58:56

stuff like this, and I'll put this in the show for

58:58

you guys, but if you're watching on YouTube, you'll be able

59:00

to see some of these examples. Pretty

59:03

creepy. Yeah, it's interesting. And I of examples.

59:05

want to get a Tesla for this. The visual that you're

59:07

to play, if if it's the one you showed

59:09

me before, is is about kind of creepy. I

59:11

have a thought about like, is it possible that

59:13

the shapes of tombstones can maybe trick it

59:15

into thinking of their people? But the

59:17

interesting thing about the video we're

59:19

about to see is you see that

59:21

there are figures moving around as

59:23

he drives by, and they start

59:25

to collect towards him. They're often

59:27

in motion. I'm not sure if that's this

59:29

one, Chris. Oh, crap. Well, I I They're can

59:31

go through a couple examples here. It's actually a

59:33

pretty fascinating thought, though. Yeah. Yeah. Like new

59:35

technologies are we putting out that

59:38

actually may accidentally it detect other

59:40

dimensional? Yeah. Well, especially it's interesting too, if

59:42

this does happen more commonly in

59:44

specifically cemeteries. Wouldn't that be a wild? Yeah,

59:46

like that would make sense that there

59:48

would be some attachment. Or maybe

59:50

it will happen not just in

59:52

cemeteries too, though, like in general. I've

59:54

seen in other places too. Yeah. We other

59:56

life, other dimensional existence these. It

59:58

could be. It could be

1:00:00

a parallel reality that we're somehow some

1:00:02

sensor. Yeah overlapping with and there's

1:00:04

some energy detection there. Mm-hmm I

1:00:06

know they use something similar

1:00:08

to you know, the Xbox Kinect There's

1:00:10

been, oh, yeah videos of that, people

1:00:12

claim there are There's something in

1:00:14

their house. You can see the movement of the

1:00:16

through the Xbox Kinect sensor or whatever. So So I know

1:00:19

there are ghost tools like that. I don't know

1:00:21

if you've seen that, John but the Xbox Kinect ghost

1:00:23

have you ever seen those? No,

1:00:25

So the Kinect the Xbox Kinect is like, I

1:00:27

I don't know if if still have the Xbox

1:00:29

Kinect, but it was basically it it could identify your

1:00:31

your form your human body, so that you could interact

1:00:33

with games and things like that. So it

1:00:36

had to map out your body. So if you're

1:00:38

setting up your Xbox for the first time, and I

1:00:40

said couple videos like this where a dude

1:00:42

sitting down, and then behind him, you see

1:00:44

the connect mapping on a human form, like

1:00:46

a stick figure peeking around a doorway or

1:00:48

something like that. It's the idea that it's

1:00:50

seeing Beyond what we can see

1:00:52

into something that might be there because it's just because

1:00:54

way this technology works. Yeah, very similar kind

1:00:56

of situation, but here's an example. This just

1:00:58

one. don't know if I found the best example is here Chris, but

1:01:00

there was the when you me yesterday? Well, let's play this one

1:01:02

first. we We can... jump around a little bit. Hmm.

1:01:05

Here's the one Chris. think we're a bunch. of oh, yeah This

1:01:07

one was cool The

1:01:11

mysterious helps. this guy's by his piano saying,

1:01:13

brother, the trio can be heard screaming

1:01:15

in fear as the figures multiply on

1:01:17

the screen. More of a gasp than

1:01:19

scream, But That would be really terrifying if

1:01:21

you were actually in graveyard and you start seeing things approach

1:01:23

the car at night. Yeah,

1:01:26

if if not driving, and these things are coming

1:01:28

towards them. at different speeds. It

1:01:30

could just be the sensors, guess, that it

1:01:32

looks almost like a technology glitch. or

1:01:34

a horde of demons Yeah, John. It's a

1:01:36

lot of spirits. There's a

1:01:38

lot. but they ever put the camera up and show you

1:01:40

a great to see what the hell is going

1:01:42

on. That's why that's a little Distingenuous little sus

1:01:44

Full sus. and they just had a bunch of

1:01:46

friends out there doing that. Although you can see

1:01:48

on the right of that there's a map

1:01:50

of where they were. so you could probably

1:01:53

zoom in and see if it was cemetery Anyway, I'm

1:01:55

sure we'll get tons of comments from technically people that

1:01:57

are calling us morons. But let us know what

1:01:59

you think, cuz honestly I don't know that much

1:02:01

about this technology. I find it fascinating.

1:02:03

Yeah. Because I do think there are

1:02:05

ways and be more ways to use technology

1:02:07

to up on things like

1:02:09

you were talking about, about, John, it's something

1:02:11

in in dimension or dead friend nearby. But

1:02:13

thank you for that story, That was unique.

1:02:15

Yeah, and else that wants to submit a story

1:02:17

but needs your anonymity remaining intact, we

1:02:20

will do that. So don't be afraid to

1:02:22

reach out. won't tell. tell. thank

1:02:24

you, thank you, Anonymous. Okay, next

1:02:26

one's short and sweet, but it's a staple

1:02:28

of the show. It's a short, sweet treat. Yum.

1:02:30

That's right. I don't think I to think I'm gonna

1:02:32

to do much setup for it, but it

1:02:34

is a classic in the whole And

1:02:36

if you're a whole habit, whole listener, you will know

1:02:38

why If a whole head. A whole-er. If you're a If

1:02:40

you're a whole you'll know why. I

1:02:42

believe he is in the Colorado mountains,

1:02:44

takes place February of around there, there,

1:02:47

middle of the day. And

1:02:49

this comes to us from

1:02:51

John. Hello

1:02:55

the whole, from the whole. I

1:02:57

used to work at a ski area in Colorado. The

1:03:00

lodge was a big, sprawling building

1:03:02

and was built on top of a

1:03:04

crawl space, which, of course, was

1:03:06

called the hole. The

1:03:08

hole is about four tall with a dirt

1:03:10

floor and is divided into four different rooms.

1:03:13

You could walk in an awkward stoop or crawl.

1:03:16

You entered through a trap door the floor,

1:03:20

pulled the string on the single light

1:03:22

bulb and the door behind

1:03:24

you so no one would accidentally join

1:03:26

you. Sealing in

1:03:28

was always a little creepy. We

1:03:31

used the hole for storing old release

1:03:33

forms, rental skis and stock for the

1:03:35

ski shop. It was dry,

1:03:37

mold isn't a thing there. I

1:03:40

was down in the hole going through a

1:03:42

a box of t -shirts when my eye caught

1:03:44

movement in the doorway of one of the

1:03:46

other rooms. The

1:03:48

opening in the room beyond

1:03:50

pitch black. Very slowly, a

1:03:53

a glowing green hand

1:03:55

appeared. Grasping

1:03:58

the side the wall, the small opening as

1:04:01

if to brace itself before the rest

1:04:03

of it came through. I

1:04:05

don't know if it was disembodied or not

1:04:07

since the body still would have been in

1:04:09

the dark room. It acted

1:04:11

like it was attached, but when

1:04:13

whatever it was would come through the

1:04:15

opening, the hand disappeared.

1:04:21

I was shocked and creeped out,

1:04:23

but surprisingly not terrified. I I

1:04:26

sat down on a box of paperwork stared

1:04:29

at the opening for a little while. I

1:04:32

got no malicious feeling from the hand,

1:04:34

but I also did not go over to

1:04:36

the doorway. Other

1:04:39

people experienced stuff in the

1:04:41

building too. Thank

1:04:43

you for that. Yeah, what

1:04:46

is that? Weirdos. Added to the

1:04:48

collection of the disembodied hands. That

1:04:50

is is just. Yeah. The

1:04:52

confounding phenomenon I've

1:04:54

ever heard. That's a great word,

1:04:56

John. It's confounding. Confounding, it is.

1:04:58

I mean, in the whole, it's pervasive. And

1:05:01

rampant. It's It is so

1:05:03

strange. mean, I mean, hand thing, talked about this ad nauseam

1:05:05

this point, but we should really break

1:05:08

it down on an episode sometime. Yeah, dude, seriously.

1:05:10

Really in there. That is, I I think we're

1:05:12

ripe for an episode on that. Yeah, Ripe.

1:05:14

We've been talking about that for a long

1:05:16

time. I think, Chris, you were concerned that it would

1:05:18

be too much of one thing. Well, if it

1:05:20

was just stories, but I want to include some

1:05:22

historical accounts and also look at maybe the corroborative

1:05:25

research points. that maybe we actually get a little like, you know,

1:05:27

get a little closer to figure out what

1:05:29

this might be. I don't know. We've got We've got a

1:05:31

shirt. I I it would be

1:05:33

plenty with just the stories. We got a

1:05:35

shirt? Yeah. A shirt that has a disembodied

1:05:37

hand on it. We do. It's the same

1:05:39

as this mug here. as this mug here. Exactly. It

1:05:41

says, well, hello, hello. I think it's a

1:05:43

phenomenon in itself that, I mean, obviously, dear

1:05:45

thing, but. We throw in a disembodied foot. It doesn't

1:05:47

have to just be hands, but I think

1:05:49

it looks like it's like this. Wait,

1:05:52

There you go. It just to be green and

1:05:54

glowing. Why green? That's such a

1:05:56

common thing, too. thing Not always green and

1:05:58

glowing, I guess, but it's a freaky common. I

1:06:01

just did a search have 21 stories independent stories

1:06:03

people written in about disembodied hands yeah it's

1:06:05

insane so many of them are green and

1:06:07

or glowing or stringy black hair or red Wasn't

1:06:09

there one that was like this weird Yeah,

1:06:11

the best one I ever heard that

1:06:13

was Simon That probably the creepiest one that was

1:06:15

like one of the first ones that did

1:06:18

yeah this was years ago Simon von elge oh

1:06:20

yeah remember it was like hovering over his bed

1:06:22

while he was laying it was almost like a semi

1:06:25

it was almost like a sci-fi

1:06:27

laser thing Yeah. Yeah, it's like red

1:06:29

lasers or something Yeah, actually we we had

1:06:31

man I want to say her

1:06:33

name is we had someone send

1:06:35

in some actually I think she's

1:06:37

doing research into disembodied hands it

1:06:39

is Amanda yes but she talked about

1:06:41

there's folklore I believe in Japan

1:06:43

about a red disembodied hand that floats

1:06:46

around interesting yeah thank you for

1:06:48

that I mean that's a first of all

1:06:50

really cool little environment very unique Yeah,

1:06:52

weird trapdoor area under a ski resort

1:06:54

it has has rooms in it That's

1:06:56

where you'd want to find a green

1:06:58

hand coming out of the yeah of those

1:07:00

rooms sure That's where I

1:07:02

would sure so I'd want to hang out with

1:07:04

some disembodied limbs all right well thank

1:07:06

you for that anybody else out there have

1:07:08

got disembodied hand definitely this is the place

1:07:10

to share them Yeah, seems to be a

1:07:13

safe space for disembodied hands stories and witnesses some reason

1:07:15

so give it to us and we'll put

1:07:17

it in the book when we finally get

1:07:19

to write that book Okay,

1:07:23

next story takes place in one

1:07:25

of the most transitional human

1:07:27

habitats this work location is a

1:07:29

hotel very interesting this happened

1:07:31

in Clifton Park, York and comes to

1:07:34

us from Lori Parmalee,

1:07:36

is called pool of

1:07:38

spirits so this

1:07:40

story is actually my

1:07:42

husband's will the

1:07:44

time he was

1:07:47

working at a

1:07:49

hotel in Clifton Park,

1:07:51

York I don't want

1:07:53

to share the name of the hotel because not

1:07:56

sure we're supposed to have the video he

1:07:58

the front desk on third shift. He

1:08:01

would tell me he hated closing up

1:08:03

the pool because it always felt like

1:08:05

something was watching him in there, glaring

1:08:07

at him. He

1:08:10

even saw shadows moving a few times,

1:08:13

and one of those shadows was the outline

1:08:15

of a person. He

1:08:17

would go in, do what he needed to do,

1:08:19

and get back out and lock the door as

1:08:21

quickly as possible. I

1:08:24

went to visit him during the day many

1:08:26

times, and I also never liked the feeling

1:08:28

of that place. place. felt It felt crowded,

1:08:30

even though no there. no one was physically around

1:08:32

you. I'd feel anxious and it

1:08:34

would feel like there was high activity around

1:08:36

me, like a huge party going on, or

1:08:38

people running in and out of the place,

1:08:40

like a busy train station. Will

1:08:43

also validated this feeling. He

1:08:46

said he would come home feeling

1:08:48

completely drained, energy wise, not physically so

1:08:50

much. and just exhausted. When

1:08:52

I visited I'd feel that feeling

1:08:54

right out even into the parking lot

1:08:57

I parked near a veteran one day, and

1:09:00

I felt like there was a man leading

1:09:02

back and relaxing on a truck in

1:09:04

that spot, just standing there, staring

1:09:06

at me. I couldn't see him,

1:09:08

but it felt like he was there. Maybe

1:09:11

he was a a veteran, I'm not sure. He

1:09:13

didn't feel bad. it It just felt like he

1:09:15

was hanging out there. I can't

1:09:17

validate that, though. Maybe with the rest of

1:09:19

the feelings I had, I I was just being paranoid. but

1:09:21

then again, maybe not. It

1:09:24

felt like there was history there. It's hard to

1:09:26

explain, but when I got a strong feeling

1:09:28

of a location where a lot of paranormal

1:09:30

activity, a couple times in my past, I

1:09:32

get the word in my head. history.

1:09:35

And that applied here. I never

1:09:37

liked staying staying at the hotel long, and

1:09:39

I would say a prayer every time

1:09:41

I left, and so did Will, that would follow

1:09:43

us nor any of our things. home.

1:09:47

Back to story. He was in the

1:09:49

back office the desk one night, watching the security

1:09:51

cameras, which is part of his job when he's

1:09:53

back there. The camera

1:09:55

the exercise room, which was not currently

1:09:57

being used and had the lights off. was

1:10:00

showing something really strange. There

1:10:02

was a light. that like it was moving and

1:10:04

showing off in front of the camera. It

1:10:10

even looks like the orb leaves the

1:10:12

room at the end of the video, shooting

1:10:14

off toward the hallway windows, which just

1:10:16

go back into the hotel hallway. Will

1:10:19

was able to pull out his phone and take

1:10:21

a video of it. I've attached the video for

1:10:23

you. If you ever do another stream with video,

1:10:25

feel free to show it or add it to

1:10:27

show notes. Anyway, it creeped me

1:10:29

out when I saw that was around my

1:10:31

husband. And we kept saying that same prayer

1:10:34

until he left that job sometime later. Sometimes

1:10:36

I drive by that hotel, I I

1:10:38

still say that prayer. Did

1:10:41

you have that video, Chris? Yes, they sent us

1:10:43

a video of this. We We shall

1:10:45

it. So was in the exercise room.

1:10:47

Is that right? Right. So this is

1:10:49

the video that was sent in by

1:10:51

Will's wife. See you think. Who?

1:10:55

Okay, so we're looking at at that bottom video

1:10:57

there. guy. It's weird that it looks a

1:10:59

little wormy guy. It's

1:11:01

weird that it looks like it's coming from the center

1:11:04

of the room. Almost like, but almost like a weird Yeah,

1:11:06

it flashlight. light. Yeah, it looks like head. light.

1:11:08

A worm hard. It's kind it's hard It's see on

1:11:11

of hard to see on this feed, we're

1:11:13

getting Jeremy's feed, which is a little grainy,

1:11:15

but it looks like almost plasmic If you

1:11:17

have the file, it. if you look at

1:11:19

it. But there's like the head of

1:11:21

it and then a little kind of line

1:11:23

that comes out. It doesn't look like a

1:11:25

beam of light. It It like this, like

1:11:27

a membrane. Like Like a worm. And then

1:11:29

it it out the door at the end.

1:11:32

we'll have have the high version up on the

1:11:34

screen on YouTube. Yeah, so it does almost

1:11:36

kind of slinky thing where it almost looks

1:11:38

like it grows out from the middle

1:11:40

of the image towards like the door. But

1:11:42

But it reminds me of something like

1:11:44

from The Abyss. I don't know don't slinky if where you

1:11:47

you have ever seen that movie, but or Donnie

1:11:49

Darko, Watery Alien, or Donnie Darko, where that of thing comes

1:11:51

out of their and guides them to

1:11:53

their future. Yeah, super, super strange. It'd be

1:11:55

awesome to capture something like that after

1:11:57

experiencing something like that to kind of

1:11:59

corroborate what you've been through. I mean, that's

1:12:01

why this makes the story really interesting and hotels.

1:12:03

I I mean, obviously notoriously haunted locations

1:12:05

because of all the traffic and

1:12:07

out, all the moving around. Yeah,

1:12:10

liminal spaces, man. Well,

1:12:13

thank you for that story. Lori, Thank

1:12:15

you for the story, Lori

1:12:17

and hopefully will is there. I

1:12:20

think they don't he hasn't worked anymore, Oh, so

1:12:22

what I'm saying? that? She still says the prayer when they drive by.

1:12:24

Oh, yeah interesting

1:12:28

You guys want to hear one more tale? Yeah, let's do it. Let's

1:12:31

do one more. We're go south the border

1:12:33

This comes to us from Felipe Felipe.

1:12:35

yes. What's up, Felipe? Friend of the

1:12:37

show always there at the premieres He sent several

1:12:39

stories. This one just kind of works

1:12:41

perfectly with what topic. Hey

1:12:45

guys, it's me, Felipe I I

1:12:48

wanted to share one of the

1:12:50

many things I've experienced in Mexico. I'll

1:12:53

start off by saying I didn't

1:12:55

work in a cemetery, but I

1:12:57

worked next to one. One

1:12:59

night I was on the graveyard shift, watching

1:13:01

over avocado trees to make sure no

1:13:03

one came in at night to steal them.

1:13:06

It was usually me and some other person

1:13:08

on the job, but that night my went

1:13:10

home early, leaving me alone. I

1:13:13

I set up a fire on the soccer field

1:13:15

where we usually kept watch. I

1:13:18

was just chilling on my phone

1:13:20

when suddenly I heard a whistle. At At

1:13:27

first I didn't think much of it, maybe a

1:13:29

bird or something, but then

1:13:31

it happened two more times, and this

1:13:33

time the whistle came from behind

1:13:35

my back. That's

1:13:43

when I got up and fired a shot

1:13:45

with my .22 rifle, thinking it might be burglars But

1:13:50

was wrong. I I

1:13:52

checked behind me and saw nothing. Right

1:13:56

after that, a a bunch of owls

1:13:58

started making their sounds in in

1:14:01

the cemetery. Well,

1:14:12

that's my little story. Thanks for listening,

1:14:14

guys. Well,

1:14:17

that is an interesting occupation. Avocado

1:14:19

security guard. Felipe? Yeah.

1:14:22

Yeah, that's got to some interesting atmosphere, I I would

1:14:24

feel like. Being out there. Oh, especially it's next

1:14:26

to a graveyard. Yeah. Yeah,

1:14:29

are up to no good. Yeah, I

1:14:31

had a whistler. They're never up to

1:14:33

good and no good. They're up to

1:14:35

no good. Yeah. Ever, not any ever good

1:14:37

with the whistles. It interesting because story reminded

1:14:39

me of another one that had come

1:14:42

in around the same time from a girl. John,

1:14:44

it it reminded me of your account because it's

1:14:46

all about whistling in her house. It kind of

1:14:48

follows her from room to room over the

1:14:50

years. and And then it comes back years later as

1:14:52

she has her window open, listening to a

1:14:54

podcast and the whistling starts again right behind her

1:14:56

in the room. What was weird to me

1:14:58

about it and connecting to this story is then

1:15:00

she goes on to talk about how the only

1:15:02

other thing that happened weird in that house is that

1:15:04

she woke up to see a owl standing

1:15:06

in her room above her. Oh, really? So there

1:15:08

was whistling in an owl and the owl

1:15:10

she talked about was she said

1:15:13

it was like a priestess owl.

1:15:15

It was like a what? Owl in

1:15:17

a blue robe with a hood

1:15:19

over its head. What? It sounds like

1:15:21

an interdimensional being or That's what

1:15:23

I was thinking. Yeah, remember did the noble

1:15:25

bear from Paul book? Yeah. dancing

1:15:27

the graveyard where he encounters that

1:15:30

thing in the attic that is like

1:15:32

some interdimensional mission for some priestess

1:15:34

in some other dimension and he's

1:15:36

like in this attic and he's

1:15:38

got a bear's head or something. There's

1:15:40

some really fascinating fascinating stuff. We We all

1:15:42

these the idea when it comes

1:15:44

to paranormal entities, and what really is

1:15:46

haunting people might not be grandma a

1:15:48

demon. Right. Right. So, yeah,

1:15:51

something altogether. It's an owl priestess.

1:15:53

an head owl Priestess. Priestess.

1:15:55

Interesting. It's a little Yeah,

1:15:58

there Yeah! go. he... go. Little action. Why does

1:16:00

he have, like, like of Warcraft or something?

1:16:02

Um, Jer, I will send this to you.

1:16:04

Go to this link. This is the

1:16:06

only, like, kind of quick offhand, like

1:16:08

kind of skeptical thing I was thinking about,

1:16:10

you know, do owls whistle Because both these

1:16:12

stories include owls to some degree. And

1:16:14

she did say there was an owl,

1:16:16

I think, nearby her house, and

1:16:18

then, of course, Felipe had owls. You see he

1:16:20

turned around, and that was kind of the

1:16:22

odd thing too, There were a bunch of

1:16:24

owls in the tree. Yeah. Yeah. But here this

1:16:26

clip I sent you. I don't think this

1:16:28

sounds quite like a whistle, but Bart owls

1:16:30

are known to have a whistle shriek. So

1:16:32

I just wonder if there is some explanation

1:16:34

here. Here we go. Can

1:16:36

you hear it? Yeah. Ooh.

1:16:40

The Normal sound. Hey sweetheart. Okay.

1:16:44

Dude. Dude. Oh

1:16:46

yeah. That's almost sounds like,

1:16:48

like these feel like a terror. action. That's

1:16:50

the exact sound that happens outside of

1:16:52

our house. Mom and dad's house. owl. owl. Yeah. It's

1:16:54

It's so creepy. It's so loud like

1:16:56

that. It's screaming almost. You're like, like, what the hell was

1:16:58

that? shriek. It's like a shriek. Yeah.

1:17:00

So I don't know if that's, if

1:17:02

that's what sounds like a a terror act,

1:17:04

Like they would use for a terror act. That's

1:17:06

awesome. It's such a cool sound. So

1:17:08

So us know, Felipe and Aubrey, let us know

1:17:11

if that sounds like the whistle. I

1:17:13

mean, that doesn't sound like a whistle

1:17:15

to me. It sounds more like a

1:17:17

shriek. No, I I think didn't. Yeah. Yeah. That's

1:17:19

a, that's a scream almost shrieky scream. I

1:17:21

mean, there's so many weird connections with owls and the.

1:17:23

Owls are weird creatures, man. Just fine. Minds green

1:17:25

memories. just read and 40 and times the other

1:17:27

day, just flipping through. And it was like, they have

1:17:29

a crime section and this was about

1:17:31

a meth head. They pulled him over

1:17:33

for drinking and driving because he was

1:17:35

swerving. Found out he was drunk. He

1:17:37

was also on meth amphetamines and he

1:17:39

had a a screech owl on his passenger

1:17:41

seat. And they asked him, why do you

1:17:43

have a screech owl? And And said

1:17:45

that he was driving and he stopped

1:17:47

at a gas station and a man

1:17:49

was selling a screech owl for a hundred dollars.

1:17:51

So he bought the screech owl and

1:17:53

then he got pulled over. Huh. And

1:17:56

I think they're, they're a little message they posted

1:17:58

on like their Facebook community of the police

1:18:00

station. They were like. Don't do meth because

1:18:02

you might wind up drunk at a

1:18:04

gas station buying owls from strangers. Poor

1:18:06

screech owl. I know. know. He up

1:18:09

okay. How do you know? Well,

1:18:11

because the police got him and he was still alive. Oh,

1:18:14

okay. So... the screech owl? Yeah,

1:18:16

because it's legal to own wildlife

1:18:18

like that. Do they compensate to

1:18:20

purchase wildlife illegally. That's like a hundred investment in

1:18:22

that screech owl. I doubt they

1:18:25

compensated him. Yeah. they put out on

1:18:27

the woods or something? I don't know. Probably

1:18:29

gave him to like some rescue place. place. Could write to 40

1:18:31

40 in times. Wait wait for a letter

1:18:33

from Europe. Screech owl? what happened? What happened to

1:18:35

the screech owl? I need to know. I'm

1:18:37

sure he's fine. I I hope he's

1:18:39

fine. Yeah, screech owls are tough. Yeah, they they

1:18:41

are. They're tough stuff. A A lot of

1:18:43

street smarts too. Sure. Sure.

1:18:45

And plus they're magic. Very

1:18:48

wise, magical beings. Yeah,

1:18:50

very rough and tumble. Yeah,
