Big foot and be

0:02

on with Cliff and

0:05

Bobo. These guys are

0:07

your favorites. So like

0:10

you're subscribing rated. Five

0:12

stars. Big foot and

0:15

be on. The greatest

0:18

podcast. Wherever you're listening

0:20

or watching. James

0:29

Bobo Faye. Hello folks. Woke another episode

0:31

of Bigfoot and Beyond with usually

0:34

Cliff and Bobo. Today, Cliff's not

0:36

here. He's out in the woods. He's doing

0:38

some swatching. He's got some stuff going on.

0:40

So I was supposed to do an episode

0:42

of the day without Cliff, but their guests

0:44

we have lined up are so good. I

0:46

just couldn't do them without them. I mean,

0:48

they're too important. So I was

0:50

talking to Matt, our producer, Matt, the Uber,

0:53

or Uber producer, or Uber producer. Matt's

0:55

going to interview. and kind of get

0:57

some more fine details on me doing it

0:59

that way. So welcome to Bigfoot beyond

1:01

that. Thanks for having me. Yeah, you know,

1:04

since I handle a lot of the social

1:06

media requests, it had occurred to me when

1:08

we were talking about guests. It's like, oh,

1:10

the one person that people ask for the

1:12

most is Bobo. It's so you would be

1:15

the perfect guest for this week's episode. Thank

1:17

you. Thanks for having me. Like you said,

1:19

there are so many stories that I've heard

1:21

that. It had been years since I've heard

1:23

them that I kind of jot down like,

1:26

oh, we should talk about these on the

1:28

podcast. And then when I hear you on

1:30

other podcasts, there's always questions that come

1:32

up for me that I've never asked that I

1:34

thought, oh, well, we should just ask those questions. So

1:37

you get to be the guest on your own podcast

1:39

this week. All right. Yeah, one of the things

1:41

I was curious about, and I think we

1:43

could give a shout out to our good

1:45

friend Tony, because Tony Merkel over at The

1:48

Confessionals just did a great deep dive interview

1:50

with you on his podcast, sort of the

1:52

origin story, but I always love hearing about

1:54

who were the first other researchers that you

1:56

met, like after you were tracking down

1:58

Sasquatch stories. and meeting local witnesses, like

2:01

who were the first contemporary people in

2:03

the field that you met that were

2:05

going and doing the same thing? Probably

2:07

Ray Crow, I guess. Oh, I didn't

2:09

know that. So were you logging in

2:11

Northern California at that time? Yeah, and

2:13

I was going up to Portland anyways.

2:15

I was going to go surf up

2:17

in Northern Oregon and I had friends.

2:19

I loved going to Portland, you know,

2:21

back then, that was before Portland. I

2:23

got totally blown up, you know, it

2:25

was like a lot. It wasn't the

2:27

traffic and... crowds and it was a

2:29

really it was my favorite city for

2:31

years and years. So anyways I was

2:34

up there and I knew about I

2:36

had someone give me a copy of

2:38

the track record somehow and I got

2:40

some I was subscriber to that for

2:42

a while and I made it up

2:44

there for a meeting I've ever I'm

2:46

going into that basement place and I

2:48

can't remember all the people I met

2:50

I met I met a couple women

2:52

that were there was a lot of

2:54

older people there was no in my

2:56

age there and that's when I got

2:58

to know Ray a little bit. Yeah,

3:00

so I met Ray and a few

3:02

other people, I came here who all

3:04

was there now. No one I stayed

3:07

in touch with, I just, Ray a

3:09

little bit over the years, and then,

3:11

who did I meet? I saw an

3:13

article on John Freitas in the paper

3:15

in the San Francisco Chronicle, I think

3:17

he said it was 96 or 97,

3:19

and I wrote him, I didn't have

3:21

email back then, I just called him

3:23

and left him a couple messages. And

3:25

we talked on the phone, I think

3:27

we were just, yeah, I never talked

3:29

to him, we were just kind of

3:31

phone tagging because I was gone fishing

3:33

all the time back then. It was

3:35

before I had a cell phone. And

3:38

I was just not home ever. I

3:40

was just not home ever. So I

3:42

did come back once every two, three,

3:44

four weeks and check my voicemail on

3:46

the phone. And I got a couple

3:48

messages, but we never met up. We

3:50

never met up. And then I saw

3:52

another article with Robert Leiderman, the Ranger.

3:54

And I think it might, yeah, I

3:56

didn't really talk to him though until

3:58

the Grasshopper Trail story, which was like

4:00

a big deal at the time. It

4:02

was the PFO website that just... started

4:04

up. I guess it was the VRB,

4:06

what was not, the, what was that

4:08

one call again? The, what was that

4:11

one call again? The IV BC, the

4:13

internet virtual Bigfoot conference? Yeah, it might

4:15

have, it might have still been, it

4:17

might have still been during that time,

4:19

or no, it was already, no, it

4:21

was BFRO by that time, yeah, it

4:23

was BFRO, sorry. So I called my,

4:25

I had my incident where, That story

4:27

I told you know my first encounter

4:29

where I had for sure had a

4:32

definitely definitively had a Bigfoot encounter like

4:34

no doubt about it whatsoever was to

4:36

this day I was still like the

4:38

most powerful like made the biggest impression

4:40

on me not just because it was

4:42

the first it's still the most intense

4:44

encounter I ever had by far I

4:46

was going to ask you about that

4:48

story because one of the first I

4:51

mean the first time I was ever

4:53

aware of you was on mysterious encounters

4:55

in some of those episodes but then

4:57

if you remember back in the days

4:59

of blog talk radio I think the

5:01

first or at least one of the

5:03

first Bigfoot shows was Let's talk Bigfoot

5:05

and a little bit of that story

5:07

was in there and I had that

5:10

sort of jotted down here because I

5:12

know we've never talked about that on

5:14

Bigfoot or beyond so you got to

5:16

tell that's got to be the first

5:18

bovo story for the listeners in this

5:20

episode for sure because I'd love to

5:22

hear it again to you know. This

5:24

was 2001. And I've been in touch

5:26

with John Freight. We'd never met. And

5:29

he was an investigator for the district

5:31

attorney's office up in Delnar County. I

5:33

was down in Humboldt. I was commercial

5:35

fishman and logging and stuff. And so

5:37

I was gone a lot. But he

5:39

called me up one day and he

5:41

goes, dude. I just talked to a

5:43

woman from the Res, from the Iraq

5:46

Res. She just had a sighting. She

5:48

just saw a Bigfoot. And I was

5:50

like, no, and it was a really

5:52

broken up message. It was when self,

5:54

I mean, this is selfless, really janky

5:56

back then, where we lived at least.

5:58

And it was really broken up and

6:00

my reception was terrible. I could barely

6:02

hear it, but he was saying it

6:05

was a year ago today that the

6:07

woman had a setting. I didn't know

6:09

that. I thought it was that day.

6:11

I got all excited and I had

6:13

to drive down and start humble and

6:15

borrow my buddy's night vision scope. It

6:17

was a Ukrainian model. I remember it

6:19

was a Chen-2 night scope and you

6:21

know, just pretty junkie about today's standards,

6:24

but it was the best I'd ever

6:26

seen in person. So I was all

6:28

excited and he let me borrow it.

6:30

He let me borrow it. He let

6:32

me borrow it. So I went up

6:34

there, I went to where he was

6:36

talking about, I was on the Bald

6:38

Hills, it was just on the backside

6:40

of River National Park, above the Klamath

6:43

River, and I was almost due west

6:45

of the PG film site, a little

6:47

bit, well not due west, I was

6:49

west-south there by about 10 or 12

6:51

hour miles, maybe. And so I went

6:53

up there, and it was this little

6:55

bit, and when he told me this

6:57

story, I knew exactly where he was

7:00

talking about, I had been there, It's

7:02

called Bald Hills Road. It goes from

7:04

the coast. It runs through the park

7:06

and then it drops down. It goes

7:08

over the coastal range right there and

7:10

then it drops down into the Clamth

7:12

River Valley. Then the Hoopa Reservation, a

7:14

lot of people are from it, the

7:16

Hoopa Project, with by Day Paulides, Hoopa's

7:19

there. And then it comes in the

7:21

Urock Res, which is from the confluence

7:23

of the Trinity, which is the Trinity

7:25

River, goes through Hoopa, and the Clamth

7:27

River comes, Oregon, Oregon, Northern California, Northern

7:29

California, Northern California, Northern California. A lot

7:31

of people have heard of the Klamath.

7:33

So you get up to the top

7:35

and my buddies that lived out in

7:38

Wichita, they were telling me a couple

7:40

of them had seen, and one of

7:42

my best friends had seen, a really

7:44

old, broken down, limping, kind of patchy

7:46

hair, looked like I was about to

7:48

die, emaciated, about a seven and a

7:50

half foot tall, big foot, like, had

7:52

the, you know, classic male baldness patterned

7:54

to it, gray along its head, like

7:57

the... as temples are all gray and

7:59

had kind of like a gray beard

8:01

and gray chest and had like that

8:03

silvery sheen to the black. Not really

8:05

a sheen, it was black, but you

8:07

could see that. It was not like

8:09

that, like the one I saw was

8:11

black and had silver shoes, like young

8:14

and healthy. Look at this thing, it

8:16

was old like grit, like not silver

8:18

shiny hair, but like dull gray hair.

8:20

And then it had patchy fur missing

8:22

and he could see the ribs, they

8:24

could see the ribs, they could see

8:26

the ribs on it. And it was

8:28

limping really slow. He said the look

8:30

on its face, he just froze and

8:33

then they locked eyes with it and

8:35

slowed down as they drove past it,

8:37

like close. They just slowed down, they

8:39

were staring at it, they started them,

8:41

it was just like, I'm old, I'm

8:43

broken up, I'm about to die, leave

8:45

me alone, you busted me, just leave

8:47

me alone. Then it just started limping

8:49

off again. And so I was up

8:52

there for weeks, this has been going

8:54

on for about, oh, at that point,

8:56

two months, six weeks having been getting

8:58

reports out of there, and then the,

9:00

from Humboldt State University, University, graduation, like

9:02

I think 70% of the population of

9:04

the schools from Southern California. So when

9:06

the families come up for graduation in

9:08

May, you know, they go around, cruise

9:11

around the, you know, look at the

9:13

nature and all that. And this is

9:15

about, where this happened is about our

9:17

10 minutes, our hour, 10 minutes, north

9:19

of the university. And you can do

9:21

a loop road, you can go up

9:23

to where the museum is in Will

9:25

Creek, a lot of people in the,

9:28

conflicts of the clamp from the Trinity

9:30

and you drive down a couple miles

9:32

and blow witch bag and then you

9:34

go back up and you go over

9:36

the Bald Hills and drop down a

9:38

highway 101 and railway National Park and

9:40

then back down along the coast back

9:42

to Arcada. So a lot of people

9:44

do that loop and I talked to

9:47

two different car loads of people do

9:49

that loop and I talked to two

9:51

different carloads of people that you know

9:53

were graduating their parents were visiting and

9:55

they saw like oh my God like

9:57

that's That's that's you know, I got

9:59

to find this thing and like that's

10:01

when I started calling Belgium, too. I

10:03

didn't I was telling him, hey this

10:06

thing, you know, it's a, it's around,

10:08

it's old, it's about to die, it

10:10

might be a good place to focus

10:12

on. I think he sent, I sent

10:14

him an email, I think he emailed,

10:16

I think he emailed, he emailed me

10:18

back once, and he sounded like, he's,

10:20

he emailed me back once, and he

10:22

sounded like, yeah, he was excited about

10:25

that, I was up there a lot.

10:27

didn't see anything, didn't hear anything. And

10:29

then so John, John Freitas, the Denmark

10:31

County District Attorney Investigator, you know, he's

10:33

a law enforcement officer. He called up,

10:35

I was excited about the sighting of

10:37

that Iraq woman. He goes, you know,

10:39

she's really responsible. She's great witness, you

10:42

know, real, together woman. She works for

10:44

the tribe, you know, she's a senior

10:46

kind of up there, a person well

10:48

respected. And he goes, yeah, and she.

10:50

She saw it cross the road and

10:52

I knew exactly and it was it

10:54

was strange because I've talked to her

10:56

several times since then. It was a

10:58

smaller Bigfoot and it was dragging a

11:01

rolled up piece of cardboard it had

11:03

in one hand and the other hand

11:05

it had it was holding like the

11:07

the cuff of a sleeve of a

11:09

long sleeve kids bright blue child's top

11:11

like long sleeve shirt. It was holding

11:13

the cuff of one sleeve is and

11:15

then the. rest it was dragging behind

11:17

her on the ground or it her

11:20

him whatever it was and then it

11:22

saw her and it just took off

11:24

just so fast like a deer just

11:26

zoom zoomed off kicked up a cloud

11:28

of dust behind it and was just

11:30

gone and so I I was like

11:32

no that just happened like today and

11:34

I got that so I got the

11:36

night vision scope and I was all

11:39

excited I packed my stuff up so

11:41

I got the night vision scope I

11:43

go up there I set my chair

11:45

up in the and it mind you

11:47

at this point I've been looking for

11:49

years and years never anything happened. Never

11:51

heard anything that I knew. You know,

11:53

in hindsight I did have some interactions

11:56

with them, but I just didn't know

11:58

it. I was ignorant of them. the

12:00

signs, sounds. But, so I went to

12:02

the meadow and so the meadow is

12:04

kind of like a crescent shape, you

12:06

know, like half moon shape, and it's

12:08

gone now, it got clear cut, but

12:10

it was probably like, I always miss

12:12

up the dimensions because it seems so

12:15

big that I'm reckon it was about

12:17

maybe 120 yards. It was a half

12:19

moon shape starting from the road. So

12:21

the road around north south, so the

12:23

road, the road around north south along

12:25

the ridge. And the road was the

12:27

dividing line between the National Park, Redwood

12:29

State and National Park, and private timberland

12:31

and some ranching holdings in there. There's

12:34

a few people lived out there, not

12:36

many, like maybe six houses along this

12:38

11 miles of road. And there are

12:40

mostly down at the end of the

12:42

road, down by the river, the Klamath.

12:44

So as you drive up along this

12:46

meadow, you see the middle on your

12:48

right. And then alongside of the road,

12:50

there's a patch of woods, maybe 30

12:53

yards long by about 15 yards thick,

12:55

something like that, something like that. And

12:57

on both sides of it was the

12:59

meadow and in front of it was

13:01

the meadow so it was like an

13:03

island that backed up to the road

13:05

So I pulled up there and parked

13:07

there's a kind of a wider spike

13:10

park people get by no problem And

13:12

I let my dog out let him

13:14

run around for a little bit D-Day.

13:16

He was that big 105 pound people

13:18

great dog super mill everyone thought he

13:20

was a black lap because he was

13:22

so chill and So I let him

13:24

run around for a while then I

13:26

put him back in the truck in

13:29

the front seat in the front seat

13:31

and I got my I had one

13:33

of those plastic, you know, picnic chairs,

13:35

you know, a little cheap chair you

13:37

get from Costco, whatever. I had one

13:39

of those, had my machete for protection,

13:41

had my night scope and spotlight, and

13:43

I think, I had my extra clothes

13:45

in case it got cold or mosquitoes.

13:48

And this was in May, it was

13:50

May 21st, 2001. And there wasn't, I

13:52

don't think there was any moon at

13:54

all. There might have been a little

13:56

bit of a moon, but it was

13:58

clear, it was warm, it was, you

14:00

know, it was in the 80s that

14:02

day up there. I'm at night, I

14:04

think at 9 o'clock it was still

14:07

like 74, 75 degrees, but I'm sitting

14:09

there and I go out there and

14:11

I started doing some really killer calls

14:13

like roars and howls. And I'm doing

14:15

an east end of the canyon and

14:17

they were carrying all the way down

14:19

on the river. I could hear echo

14:21

it's going down. I was like, dang,

14:24

my voice is, you know, I'm killing

14:26

it's going miles. Now I was doing

14:28

some roars. I was doing some aggressive

14:30

aggressive aggressive calls. Yeah, it was about

14:32

745. I hear this wolf, I thought

14:34

it was a wolf hybrid, like this

14:36

husky wolf, they were popular back then,

14:38

they were like seven eights wolf and

14:40

a eighth husky or Malamute, whatever. And

14:43

I thought, well, it sounds like my

14:45

buddy's wolf, you know, wolf hybrid, it

14:47

sounds like that, because it was a

14:49

howl, and it wasn't a coyote, you

14:51

could tell, and it had more of

14:53

a wolf tone to it, it seemed

14:55

like, it seemed like, And I hear

14:57

the hell, I'm like, God, that's a

14:59

strange hell, and it keeps going on

15:02

and on. And then it starts changing

15:04

it more soon to like a screaming

15:06

yell, roar. And then right then I

15:08

was like, oh my God, I just

15:10

heard my first Bigfoot. I couldn't believe

15:12

it. I was like, no way. And

15:14

it was miles due north, it was

15:16

just due north of me. Stay tuned

15:18

for more Bigfoot and beyond with Clifen

15:21

Bobo. We'll be right back after these

15:23

messages. So

15:28

three to six months doesn't seem like

15:30

a long time, right? In Bigfoot land

15:32

it's not very long because we've been

15:34

looking for Sasquatches for decades and decades,

15:37

but when you think about what can

15:39

happen in three to six months, what

15:41

would you do in three to six

15:44

months? Like what would you do in

15:46

three to six months? I'm giving you

15:48

do in three to six months. I'm

15:50

giving you six months. What you can

17:37

howl coming from the north. I was

17:40

like, I just remember all my hair

17:42

stood up and I was just like...

17:44

The first for sure confirmation I had

17:46

like I was hearing a big foot.

17:49

There's nothing else. There's no way it

17:51

was anything else. And it did this

17:53

crazy college. It started in these crazy

17:55

screaming how yell roar things like just

17:58

up and down like you know. seven

18:00

octaes difference from the start to finish

18:02

going through all the ranges of these

18:05

calls and mixing just different sounds good.

18:07

I was like, no, so I start

18:09

roaring back, I go on, you know,

18:11

and barking and doing just aggressive gorilla

18:13

kind of calls. And it's coming, and

18:15

I could tell it's coming closer, but

18:17

it's still far away. So over the next

18:19

45 minutes, I hear it roar every so often,

18:21

and I do a roar and yell and I

18:23

was pounding, there was a chunk of, there

18:25

was some dead oak logs, you know, you know, you

18:27

know, you know, you know, I think they were

18:30

probably like 18 and 36 inch sections

18:32

of old logs that were left there

18:34

that were cracked or split whatever they

18:36

weren't good for them. They just left from

18:38

there. So I was beating on one of

18:41

those and it was it was making the

18:43

perfects because it was kind of elevated. It

18:45

was part of it was sticking in the

18:48

ground. The rest of it was sticking in

18:50

the killer resonance. I'm banging on that

18:52

thing and I'm screaming and roaring. And then

18:54

I heard it's I heard it call and

18:56

it was pretty close. No way it's coming in, it's

18:59

coming in. I was calling for us and the phone going, John,

19:01

get up for the things coming, it's coming, he's like, I can't,

19:03

I'm working, I can't, I just can't make it, there's no way.

19:05

I was like, damn. So then I called some of people,

19:07

I said, hey, I got a, there's a Bigfoot coming, they just

19:09

kind of laughed me like, yeah, whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever.

19:11

And no, I called like several people and I going

19:14

on going on, I going on, I going on, I'm going on, I'm

19:16

going on, I'm going on, I'm going on, I'm going on, I'm going

19:18

on, I'm going on, I'm going on, I'm going on, I'm going on,

19:20

I'm going on, I'm going on, I'm going on, I'm going on, I'm

19:22

going on, I'm going on, I'm going on, I'm going on, I

19:24

It just starts roaring. It's right up,

19:26

I'm facing due east, it's coming

19:28

into my nine o'clock, my due

19:31

north, and it's in the tree line,

19:33

just, you know, however far from me,

19:35

like 60 yards or something, and I'm

19:37

just like, oh my God, no way.

19:39

And it just starts, it came

19:41

in deadside and all of a

19:44

sudden, just roars and screams.

19:46

And you just hear just

19:48

branches breaking and like small

19:50

trees, sounds like snapping feet,

19:52

just boom. Boom boom

19:54

it's gone like and

19:56

then they would do these

19:59

crazy how and it was screaming

20:01

like and then it would end up

20:03

with like a huge exhale and it

20:05

sounded like horse-lip something like that. Kind

20:07

of sound at the end like it

20:09

was flapping its lips really hard but

20:11

it was doing these before we do

20:13

another scream we're doing another huge inhale

20:15

and then a huge exhale which would

20:17

end with a horse-flapp flipping sound now

20:19

it's just like blown away going oh

20:21

my god I mean you can imagine

20:23

at this point I'm just like going

20:25

no way as soon as that first

20:27

scream happened to my two o'clock, I

20:29

just saw this crack. And I know

20:31

that your imagination probably like just filling

20:33

in the gaps, but I mentally pictured

20:35

this thing on my left. I was,

20:37

you know, kind of mentally picturing this

20:39

thing, what it looked like, Margaret Lewis,

20:41

and the second that crack happened, for

20:43

whatever reason, I just saw it, it

20:45

looked like a plainest day in my

20:47

head, but you know, people already described

20:49

it to me, so I'm sure that's

20:51

what it was, but I just see

20:53

that old janking. The crusty old guy

20:55

is going, crack, like I'm not dead

20:57

yet, I'm still, you know, like a

20:59

male, you know, Sasquatch, whatever, I don't

21:01

know. But I just had this mental

21:03

image of the old one over on

21:05

my right crack in the tree. I'm

21:07

like, oh my god, there's two of

21:09

them. And I was just like, whoo,

21:11

this is, you know, oh, and I

21:13

had a disposable 35 millimeter cardboard camera,

21:16

you know, you just take, you just

21:18

take those 27 pictures and drop it

21:20

off, and drop it off, like, like,

21:22

like, like, like, like, like, like, So

21:24

I had one of those and had

21:26

a flash on it. So my plan

21:28

was to antagonize the thing and that

21:30

was my plan going up there was

21:32

to antagonize if one came to antagonize

21:34

him enough to charge me and then

21:36

my plan was to snap a photo

21:38

of it and this is the most

21:40

stupidest part because John kept telling me

21:42

it'll charge you and it'll stop 10

21:44

or 15 feet away and just roar

21:46

and make you you know crap your

21:48

pants and run away whatever and I'm

21:50

not gonna know way I'll be ready

21:52

for it. I'll be ready. Try to

21:54

grab some hair off its leg. Do

21:56

you think Steve had step leg? I

21:58

don't know, I just thought like, it

22:00

won't kill me, it won't kill me,

22:02

then I was thinking like, it'll probably

22:04

kick me, but it won't kill me.

22:06

And obviously that plan didn't work, but

22:08

so for the next, so that big

22:10

one that came in from the left,

22:12

I mean, it sounded huge, and it

22:14

just, it stopped, I mean, when it

22:16

stopped its feet, it was like, you

22:18

know, it was, and it was just

22:20

boom, boom, but really well spaced like.

22:22

definitely was bipedal but there was some

22:24

big strides going and it just was

22:26

making all this noise and then so

22:28

that one of my two o'clock and

22:30

that one's coming from another clock they

22:32

kind of worked their way together so

22:34

they met directly exactly in front of

22:36

me they both came here like marching

22:38

centuries and they just were shaking in

22:40

the trees and you know there's some

22:42

big deciduous trees you know it's like

22:44

some kind of oak or something like

22:46

that they just started shaking them They

22:48

just start, the trees, something's grabbing them

22:50

and shaking them. These things were big,

22:52

like 40 foot. The base of these

22:54

trees are like a good 10, probably

22:56

14 inches, maybe something like that. Some

22:58

of them were like maybe 18 inches

23:00

and they start grabbing them and just

23:02

the tops are whipping back and forth,

23:05

just shaking it, shaking it, shaking it,

23:07

shaking it, shaking it. And I'm like.

23:09

How on the hell are they shaking

23:11

those trees? Like these trees are moth

23:13

like you get 10 men on that

23:15

thing and it would you wouldn't even

23:17

you couldn't budget at all it wouldn't

23:19

make a wouldn't move but two inches

23:21

and these things were going back and

23:23

forth 10 feet at the top you

23:25

know just whipping back and forth I'm

23:27

like what the hell's going on but

23:29

they do that so then I stand

23:31

up and beat my chest like the

23:33

gorilla like slap slap slap slap like

23:35

I was going wah and they would

23:37

roar back and. And then it would

23:39

go silent for a while and then

23:41

they'd do like a big branch snap.

23:43

It was almost all the noise was

23:45

coming from the big one that was

23:47

going back and forth on my left.

23:49

It was going from my 9 o'clock

23:51

to my 12 o'clock back and forth.

23:53

It would go silent for a while

23:55

and then it would, you know, do

23:57

another noise and... And at this point,

23:59

it was getting pretty dark. And I

24:01

had the night vision, the night vision,

24:03

I was scanning and scanning and scanning.

24:05

And I just got it that day.

24:07

I hadn't really got to mess around

24:09

with it. And it had these dials

24:11

on the front, you know, for focus

24:13

and brightness and what else? And there

24:15

was, oh, there was a red laser

24:17

point that was on it too. You

24:19

could hit, there was a button, it

24:21

was all marked in like Russian, so

24:23

I couldn't, or Ukrainian, whatever, I couldn't

24:25

read it. It was like that. Would

24:27

I call it Cyrillic writing? Yeah, I

24:29

think so. That could be, I'm not

24:31

too familiar with that, but I know

24:33

what you mean, certainly, I can't know

24:35

what you mean, certainly, I can picture

24:37

it, I know what you mean, certainly,

24:39

but I don't know, I can picture

24:41

it, I can, certain I can, I

24:43

can, certain I can, I can, certain

24:45

I can, certain I can, I can,

24:47

I can, I can, I can, I

24:49

can, but I can, but I can,

24:51

but I can't, but I can't, but

24:54

I can't, but I can't, but I

24:56

can't, I can't, like, like, like, like,

24:58

like, like, like, like, like, like, like,

25:00

like, like, like, like, like, like, like,

25:02

like, like Yeah, I mean, it was

25:04

like late 80s, early 90s technology, it

25:06

wasn't very good. But I'm going back

25:08

and forth, scanning the tree line, scanning

25:10

the tree, and then I can't stand

25:12

up roaring, and I'd get up and

25:14

beat on the tree, and then at

25:16

one point when they're in front of

25:18

me, a section about five foot long

25:20

or four foot long, by about 20-something

25:22

inches thick, maybe 24-inch thick, oh, came

25:24

flying out of the tree line out

25:26

of the tree line, didn't, It came

25:28

about two-thirds of the way to me

25:30

and then landed in front of me

25:32

just boom thud and I went out

25:34

and looked at them like thing that's

25:36

a you know 150 pound 200 pound

25:38

piece of wood or something I don't

25:40

know like something like that it was

25:42

it was substantial like you know you

25:44

couldn't have thrown it very far like

25:46

I mean I could pick it up

25:48

but I couldn't throw it like I

25:50

couldn't throw it like four or five

25:52

feet six feet of the most so

25:54

that thing came fun I was like

25:56

well I wasn't afraid really I mean.

25:58

I was definitely on heightened alert and

26:00

my heart was racing and I was

26:02

super excited but I wasn't really scared

26:04

I was just I mean I was

26:06

kind of nervous but I was more

26:08

I was more excited I was just

26:10

excited and then so this went on

26:12

for a while and it seemed like

26:14

oh three trucks passed by as I

26:16

was up there they were kind of

26:18

old rattly you know old full-size you

26:20

know domestic pickups just bouncing along and

26:22

and I remember they all had music

26:24

cranking like a couple more clanking country

26:26

and they're almost playing like classic rock

26:28

as they went by and those freaking

26:30

squatches in the tree line went absolutely

26:32

crazy just When the trucks would go

26:34

there and start screaming and roaring and

26:36

shaking the trees, really really hard to

26:38

choose to just be thrashing back and

26:40

forth, they'd break branches and roar and

26:42

scream and yell. And none of the

26:45

trucks even slowed. I looked at it,

26:47

they didn't hear them, they just kept

26:49

driving by and I couldn't believe I

26:51

kept thinking they were going to get

26:53

out and stop, you know, and I'd

26:55

be like, what, you're crazy. I was

26:57

like, oh, great, I'll get some witnesses.

26:59

notice is happening right now, get up

27:01

here, no one came. So this went

27:03

on for a couple hours and at

27:05

one point, all of a sudden, I

27:07

can't remember what it was, it was

27:09

like some kind of yell, like it

27:11

was a little, it was different than,

27:13

it was a different call, but there

27:15

was like a, there had been a

27:17

couple minutes, several minutes of silence, then

27:19

this call came out, like I can't

27:21

remember what it was, but instantly burst

27:23

out of the tree line. It's like

27:25

the battery, the battery is getting low.

27:27

Someone's going wrong. I was like, what's

27:29

going on? Is this battery getting low?

27:31

What's happening? Because it started getting fuzzier

27:33

and so I started messing with like

27:35

the focus and the, you know, the

27:37

brightness. I was like, and one of

27:39

the ones I was twisting was I

27:41

didn't realize was the battery cover. And

27:43

I unscrewed it all sudden, and screwed

27:45

the whole way and the cap came

27:47

off and the second, the battery got

27:49

disattached, and it turned off. Like within

27:51

a second, yell whatever came from the

27:53

tree line and they just rushed me

27:55

like you couldn't like it was so

27:57

fast, it was like, oh my, it

27:59

was so fast and so loud and

28:01

the ground shook and it was just

28:03

like, being at the county fair when

28:05

the horses go running about, I understand,

28:07

on the edge of the track, like

28:09

the ground just shook. There was for

28:11

sure two of them, maybe three of

28:13

them, I think there was three came

28:15

bursting out of the tree line, rushed,

28:17

I thought they could rush right next

28:19

to me, like, into the tree, like,

28:21

it was so fast and so loud

28:23

and the ground, and it was just

28:25

hold my breath on what the hell

28:27

and then I figured well I don't

28:29

know what happened to him like my

28:31

dog because my that pit bull would

28:34

go he was super chill like friendly

28:36

dog ever but when he was in

28:38

the truck he was like a coupjo

28:40

just psychopath like would attack anything that

28:42

came near the truck unless you let

28:44

him out the news friendly again when

28:46

he was in the truck without me

28:48

he was just guard dog it's like

28:50

well if they go to my truck

28:52

they go behind me in the trees

28:54

behind me out here because my dog

28:56

was with nuts I never heard a

28:58

peep out of him I was like,

29:00

that's weird. So I sat there for

29:02

a few minutes, I was sitting there,

29:04

it was about five minutes or something

29:06

like that. And I started hearing the

29:08

wrestling of some, what I figured was

29:10

a wood wrap behind me, there's a

29:12

lot of wood wraps out there. So

29:14

I thought I was a rodent behind

29:16

me, and then it sounded like a

29:18

little bigger than a rodent, then all of

29:20

a little over my right shoulder. So I

29:22

set my chair back in the tree line,

29:24

just barely like a... My chair was inside

29:27

the tree line. I had a couple of

29:29

branches on the side of me, so I

29:31

was a little bit of scared if you

29:33

were like walking by or something. I was

29:35

sitting there and all of a sudden, you

29:38

know, I got my, the spotlights on the

29:40

ground, I got my shitty there, I got

29:42

the night scope in my hand, I got

29:44

the camera in my hand, in my other

29:46

hand, and it was all wound up ready

29:48

to go. And I'm sitting there and all

29:51

of a sudden I started and I started

29:53

realizing I started this presence behind me. And

29:55

also I start hearing breathing coming from way

29:57

over my head. I start hearing this breathing

29:59

like... And after

30:01

a couple of breaths, it starts going

30:04

into a growl, like, but deep and

30:06

rumbling, like, and I'm like, it's way

30:08

over my head. I mean, it's up

30:10

in the air. And I get this

30:12

just worse sense of foreboding dread and

30:14

just the most scared I was in

30:16

my life, just, I mean, like, I

30:18

was like, oh my God. The only

30:20

thing I compare it to is being

30:23

having a great white shark shark shark

30:25

circle in you when you're out diving.

30:27

or surfing, you know, like that thing

30:29

of like, I'm out of my element,

30:31

this thing can kill me in any

30:33

second, there's nothing I can do. There's

30:35

like any large federal, like if, you

30:37

know, you're running a tiger in Asia,

30:40

or lions in Africa, or grizzly bear

30:42

here, or whatever, like, we're just like,

30:44

oh, this thing could take me out,

30:46

nothing I can do, not a damn

30:48

thing I can do. I was like.

30:50

Okay, Bo, just stay calm, just stay

30:52

relaxed. You know, don't, don't do anything

30:54

stupid, it won't hurt you. And I'm

30:56

like, okay, it's right there, I got

30:59

to take its picture. And the second

31:01

I started telling myself, all right, you

31:03

got to take its picture, you got

31:05

to take its picture, turn around, because

31:07

it's all wound up and everything. I

31:09

turned it on, it makes a little

31:11

bit of wine sound, just a little

31:13

bit, and that little indicator orange light

31:16

comes on. As soon as I did

31:18

that I got this loudest clearest message

31:20

in my head if you take my

31:22

picture I'm gonna F and kill you

31:24

and no one's ever gonna find your

31:26

body I had this image of me

31:28

inside of a cave and putting big

31:30

rocks over it I was just like

31:32

oh my but it did I swear

31:35

to this day it still seems like

31:37

it was from outside me like because

31:39

you talked yourself all the time This

31:41

seemed different, really different. It seemed like

31:43

a, it was like this voice I'd

31:45

never heard before. It was loud and

31:47

clear. It wasn't audible. Like, you couldn't

31:49

hear it audibly. It was in my

31:52

head, but it was. clear as day,

31:54

like, just seems very real and threatening.

31:56

And I believed it. Like I thought,

31:58

if I turn around, it's gonna kill

32:00

me. Stay tuned for more Bigfoot and

32:02

beyond with Clifin Bobo. We'll be right

32:04

back after these messages. And I just

32:06

remember like getting up and walking real

32:09

fast. Like, no, I don't run, but

32:11

I was like walking as fast as

32:13

I could. I'm like, don't run, but

32:15

I'm like, don't run. My eyes were

32:17

watering so bad it was dark. I

32:19

walked into a, you know, a Joe

32:21

poke like a dead branch. There was

32:23

some slash piles out there. And there

32:25

was a, it just was my eye

32:28

by about an inch. I was like,

32:30

and I was walking fast, like not

32:32

seeing where I was going, stumbling along.

32:34

I literally could have just poked my

32:36

eye out. Oh my God, like how

32:38

to get behind me? Like how come

32:40

D. I didn't get behind me without

32:42

me knowing it. I'm just getting to

32:45

my truck. My truck was facing away

32:47

from Bald Hills Road. I was facing

32:49

down Johnson's heading down river. And I

32:51

just wanted to get out. I wanted

32:53

to go there so bad. I was

32:55

expecting to get grabbed out of the

32:57

tree. Like I was walking along the

32:59

tree line. I was walking along the

33:01

tree line. I was just talking to

33:04

get dragged out of the tree. Like

33:06

I was walking along the tree line.

33:08

I was walking along the tree line

33:10

of the tree line. I thought maybe

33:12

there. I'm looking in and I don't

33:14

see my dog. I'm like, oh my

33:16

God, no wonder he's not, they reached

33:18

in and gone because the doors were

33:21

unlocked. I'm like, they got him. Oh

33:23

my God, I stole D. So at

33:25

that point, I just like my stomach

33:27

sank and I was just, I felt

33:29

even, like that was the worst. I

33:31

was like, that was the worst. I

33:33

was like, I got, that was the

33:35

worst. I just got my dog killed.

33:37

the light and I see him and

33:40

he's jammed on the floor boards on

33:42

the pasture side. He'd ripped out like

33:44

the like where the glove box is

33:46

behind it like he just tore out

33:48

whatever was wiring like radio stuff was

33:50

up behind there and had his head

33:52

shut up in there and part of

33:54

his shoulders and he was curled up

33:57

underneath the the as far up against

33:59

the front of like where your feet

34:01

goes cramming there as much like I

34:03

couldn't believe like how hidden he was

34:05

from from view I mean he's black

34:07

and it was dark out so of

34:09

course it was hard to see him

34:11

anyways but he had he'd been so

34:13

scared he just tore up the inside

34:16

of the inside of the truck trying

34:18

to climbing just to get away from

34:20

whatever it was. So they had to

34:22

walk around the windows and stuff like

34:24

that. I'm sure they walked around and

34:26

looked in it. So I drove and

34:28

I had to drive down a ways

34:30

to turn around. So I'm looking for

34:33

a place to turn around and I

34:35

drive on a two-wheel drive Toyota truck

34:37

like probably ball tires. I know I

34:39

had ball tires on it. And I'm

34:41

looking for a place to run. So

34:43

I finally find a spot and I

34:45

back into it. I'm stuck kind of

34:47

like it's the embankment was too. I

34:50

dropped off a little embankment to turn

34:52

around this spot. I mean, you know,

34:54

eight inches, nine inches, something like that.

34:56

It was nothing. I was like, oh,

34:58

but I didn't want to sue my

35:00

tires and get stuck, I was like,

35:02

oh, but I didn't want to sue

35:04

my tires and get stuck, I knew

35:06

that, I knew that, but I didn't

35:09

want to sue my tires and get

35:11

stuck on another, it, it was nothing.

35:13

I didn't like, I was nothing. I

35:15

didn't like, I was nothing. I didn't

35:17

like, I didn't like, I didn't like,

35:19

I was, I didn't like, I was,

35:21

I didn't like, I was, I was,

35:23

I was, I was, I was, I

35:26

didn't like, I didn't like, I didn't

35:28

like, I was, I was, I was,

35:30

I didn't, it was, I was, I

35:32

didn't, it was, I, I So as

35:34

I do that, like this is all

35:36

happening, like simultaneously, I'm looking going, okay,

35:38

I'm out of here. That roaring scream

35:40

comes again from above me, like it

35:42

had followed me down that road in

35:45

the tree line, going north, and it

35:47

screams, and it just starts bolting, coming

35:49

through these rhodendrons, and raspberry bushes, and

35:51

some other just very stickers and stuff,

35:53

and it just comes rushing down, and

35:55

I can just hear all that stuff

35:57

tearing out of the ground, and... Small

35:59

branches breaking and it's coming fast down.

36:02

I mean, I just jump in throw

36:04

it in first and you know drove

36:06

out of there and I was at

36:08

the all I had was this vision

36:10

of a piece of log coming out

36:12

of the darkness coming through my windshields

36:14

I just kind of expected it to

36:16

happen any second I just sort of

36:18

thing roaring and screaming up to my

36:21

left like above above me on the

36:23

hillside right there like close really close

36:25

by just like oh my god no

36:27

way and I'm driving on I thought

36:29

for sure I was waiting just wait

36:31

for a piece of way to come

36:33

flack through the windshield and kill me

36:35

So I go ripping out, I get

36:38

back down, I mean I drove so,

36:40

I drive fast all the time anyways

36:42

out there. I drove so fast, I

36:44

was hauling ass, I mean like, it

36:46

was, it was crazy, I didn't crash,

36:48

I mean I was pushing my truck

36:50

to the max getting out of there,

36:52

just wham, just drifting and, you know,

36:54

squealing tires and I get out on

36:57

the pavement, I just ripped, redwood mill

36:59

at the time. And they only worked,

37:01

I think there's like maybe three shifts

37:03

a week as there wasn't much wood.

37:05

It closed down not long after that.

37:07

I go in there, I knew there

37:09

was guards in there and I go,

37:11

I go flying there like just full

37:14

peeling, you know, just came ripping up

37:16

to the guards down, just full, locked

37:18

down, just full, you know, just came

37:20

ripping up to the guards down, just

37:22

full, locked up in the hill going,

37:24

you gotta see it. What the hell

37:26

is this big crazy looking dude? Just

37:28

came flying, peeling out in his truck.

37:30

Tell me to get in his truck,

37:33

go look at Bigfoot's up on the

37:35

mountain. He's like, he's like, dude, I'm

37:37

not getting in your truck. You're not

37:39

supposed to be here, get out of

37:41

here. Like, that was this whole thing.

37:43

It's like, dude, I'm not getting in

37:45

your truck. You're not supposed to be

37:47

here, get out, you're not supposed to

37:50

be here, You know, I need a

37:52

witness, I need a witness, he says,

37:54

no. So I left him and there

37:56

was a bar right down the street

37:58

that at that time. a bar, the

38:00

logger bar, or the lumberjack, whatever it

38:02

was. Yeah, lumberjack. So I go

38:04

down there, there's just some old

38:07

kind of like alcoholic dudes in

38:09

the retired logger dudes and mill

38:11

worker guys, like three or four of

38:13

them, and bar tender, and I'm like,

38:15

I'm like, you guys, there's a couple

38:17

bigfoots at the hill going crazy right

38:19

now, I need to witness to go

38:21

there with me. They're there right now

38:24

going nuts, turned down trees, and they

38:26

just all laughed me, and two. So the

38:28

two guys were laughing just making fun

38:30

of me like going, oh my god,

38:32

like call me a nut job and

38:34

you know, this and that, whatever.

38:36

Tell me I was on drugs. And

38:39

then the other guy was just kind

38:41

of like, yeah, I know they're there,

38:43

but I'm playing pool. He said, maybe

38:45

when I'm doing my pool, I'm like,

38:48

he said, maybe when I'm doing my

38:50

pool, my pool match. And I was

38:52

like, you can play pool the rest

38:54

of your life. And so they wouldn't

38:56

go. So then I drove down to

38:58

Trinidad, which is like 20 minutes, something

39:01

like that down south there. Went to

39:03

the bar there. There were some guys

39:05

in there, no one interested in going.

39:07

Everyone was laughing at me. Except

39:09

for one guy that was like, everyone

39:11

was laughing at me. Except for one

39:14

guy that was like, one guy that

39:16

was laughing at me. Except for one

39:18

guy that was like, I'm not

39:20

going up, I'm like, everyone was

39:22

laughing at me. Except for one

39:24

guy that. Come on, there's good. There's

39:26

big puts up there on at

39:28

this point. It's like 1, 1.30

39:31

in the morning, something like that.

39:33

They're like, now we're tired, we're

39:35

tired. And I called people and

39:37

no go back up there with

39:39

that. I couldn't do it. And

39:41

then no go up there the next

39:43

day either. I went back on there.

39:46

And that was the scariest thing

39:48

every day. He's got the next

39:50

day. Well, first I drove him.

39:52

Yeah, so I had three big

39:55

infrared floodlights and a sunny nightshot

39:58

camera adult. Okay, go put... get

40:00

some bait out, I went and got some

40:02

smoked salmon, and I got all this stuff

40:04

like donuts, salmon, honey rolls, like just sweets,

40:06

you know, and some cooked meats, smoked meats.

40:09

Go back up there, I got up the

40:11

next day, like later afternoon, and I was

40:13

so scared to go back up there, and

40:15

I was like, well, I got to face

40:17

my fear, I got to get this thing

40:20

on film, so I... I did what John

40:22

told me, I set up the, I set

40:24

up the food and I put it, there's,

40:26

I tried to like hide the lights nearby,

40:28

but it was just so stupid. Like I

40:31

didn't think, it didn't see that, but I

40:33

didn't have a better idea, it was just

40:35

get it on camera, you know, it's because

40:37

there wasn't any moon really, it was, it

40:39

was pretty, it was really dark out, so

40:42

I was like, I need to use, I

40:44

guess I gotta use these floodlights floodlights. He

40:46

would not get out of the truck, I

40:48

had to drag him out of the truck,

40:51

and he usually loved going to the woods,

40:53

like he couldn't keep, like he was scratching

40:55

up the window to get out, he just

40:57

wanted to get out, run around, sniffing, and

40:59

play. He wouldn't get out of the truck

41:02

when he came out of the truck, he

41:04

ran out of the truck, he ran out

41:06

of the truck, he ran out of the

41:08

truck, he ran out of the truck, he

41:10

ran out of the back, he ran out

41:13

of the back, he ran out of the

41:15

back, he ran out of the back, he

41:17

ran out of the back, ran out of

41:19

the back, ran out of the back, ran

41:21

out of the back, ran out of the

41:24

back, ran out of the back, ran out

41:26

of the back, ran out of the back,

41:28

ran out of the back, ran out of

41:30

the back, ran out of the back, ran

41:32

out of the back, ran out of the

41:35

back, ran out of the back, ran out

41:37

of the back, There was no sign of

41:39

anything, you know, nothing was around, no noises,

41:41

and he relaxed. And, you know, 10 minutes

41:43

later, he was back to normal totally playing,

41:46

so, okay, they're not here. Waited until it

41:48

started getting dark again, set up the, that

41:50

spot where they came to you, like, the

41:52

12 o'clock position point, I went back in

41:54

the tree line kind of a little bit,

41:57

but where I could still see him, but

41:59

where they could kind of come up partly

42:01

obscured, and I put all the stuff out

42:03

on an old log there. put all the

42:05

food out there and then there was like

42:08

floodlights. There's just these floodlights coming down on

42:10

infrared flooding. I mean it was so bad.

42:12

No, no sign of them. No indication of

42:14

them. No night, I think until daylight. No

42:17

indication they were there or nothing. five nights

42:19

later, so I told you all what happened.

42:21

He's all excited. I was all excited. He

42:23

called his partners that he went out with,

42:25

Jim Hooper and Manny, this guy Manny from

42:28

Southern Oregon. So those guys are coming down

42:30

as normal guys. And so I'd never been

42:32

in these guys in perfect. I knew who

42:34

they were, but I'd never been in any

42:36

of them in person. So we met up

42:39

five nights after my sighting. And we went

42:41

down to where we, um. where I estimated

42:43

where I first heard the calls come from.

42:45

And so we went down several miles and

42:47

we pulled over. There was this big clear

42:50

cut. You come into it, as you drive

42:52

along the road, you know you're driving, you're

42:54

about 200 yards below the park boundary line

42:56

where the road is, where the road runs

42:58

north-south. And so the road at points is

43:01

close to the boundary of the park and

43:03

other points, it's a couple hundred yards away.

43:05

At this point, it's kind of further away

43:07

from the park. the because it's obviously it's

43:09

a clear cut and there's old growth redwood

43:12

so it's pretty obvious where the boundary line

43:14

is as you drive you're driving along you're

43:16

driving you know it's all been cut before

43:18

at some point this year we're driving through

43:20

so it's you know smaller regrowth stuff but

43:23

you come in all sudden in your left

43:25

it's clear cut all the way to the

43:27

line you know whatever it is a hundred

43:29

fifty hundred two yards up to the park

43:31

boundary and and then it's really small just

43:34

hasn't been thin at all just pecker pole

43:36

regrowth red growth like I don't know, it

43:38

was a couple years old, it was several

43:40

years old, it was small, the biggest, biggest

43:43

trees in there were like, you know, six,

43:45

eight inches, something like that. It was real

43:47

close to that, real regrowth garbage. And that

43:49

went, and so that ran along your right-hand

43:51

side, that went along for another couple, like,

43:54

probably, like, probably, 100 yards of that stuff,

43:56

and then, and then that stopped, it was

43:58

clear cut on both sides to the cliff

44:00

edge. that dropped off like a couple thousand

44:02

feet down to the cloud this really steep

44:05

cliffs and steep hills then to your and

44:07

then up sloped uphill up to a park

44:09

boundary. There were some old trees that went,

44:11

old goat trees went through the cut area,

44:13

like a, that turned out it was the

44:16

old hoopa foot path for the hoop Indians

44:18

to go to the coast of Urocks, where

44:20

they could cross, that's where they crossed to

44:22

get to the ocean, where they traded like,

44:24

you know, for seasall and shellfish, that's, and

44:27

they'd bring stuff from inland and trade with

44:29

the coastal guys. So this footpath was 100,

44:31

it was used for thousands of years, and

44:33

they're not allowed to cut the trees along

44:35

the footpath, you know, cultural preservation. But this

44:38

footpath, and it's still, it's like, it's about

44:40

three feet wide, two feet wide, it's about

44:42

a foot and a half deep, you know,

44:44

ground into the dirt. There's old growth trees

44:46

going through the, in a line going through

44:49

the clear cut, that went through the regrowth.

44:51

And right where they came out, there's some.

44:53

bigger trees and stumps there. But then the

44:55

rest is that just regrowth junk, you know,

44:57

just little garbage trees. I haven't been thin.

45:00

It was just a mess. So we set

45:02

up, we parked there. There's a little spur

45:04

road dropped down to the right head and

45:06

downhill towards the cliff. In the clear cut,

45:09

it was the landing spot for the, the

45:11

lawyers have been using it. This was a

45:13

fresh cut. I mean, it just happened like

45:15

that year, or the year before, I guess

45:17

the year before. But you can tell they've

45:20

been using, like they'd still been coming down

45:22

there and parking and doing whatever down there

45:24

like, you can tell the landing was still

45:26

used down there. So we're like, all right,

45:28

well, we don't want to block the landing

45:31

off. So they went down and set up

45:33

the call blasters that big unit. It was

45:35

the one, it's in the Willow Creek Museum

45:37

now. You know, it's on the early BFR

45:39

expeditions. There was the big bullhorn up of

45:42

Navy destroyer. And John had to look up

45:44

to a thousand watt amp with a CD

45:46

player that you could play like Gorilla calls

45:48

and the Ohio call and all that stuff.

45:50

So they went down. set that up to

45:53

broadcast over the valley. When we got out

45:55

there, I realized I'd forgotten, and this is

45:57

earlier in the night, it was still daylight,

45:59

and I realized I'd forgotten the night scope,

46:01

what I packed out. I was so excited

46:04

out of the night scope on the porch,

46:06

and I called, and I called out of

46:08

the night scope on the porch. And I

46:10

called my buddy E. H. You. Actually, my

46:12

buddy E. E. H. You. Actually. I was

46:15

so excited about the night scope on the

46:17

porch. On the night scope on the porch.

46:19

On the porch. And I was. And I

46:21

was. I was. I was. I was so

46:23

I was. I was so I was so

46:26

I was so I was so I was

46:28

so I was so I was so I

46:30

was so I was so I was so

46:32

I was so I was so I was

46:35

so I was so I was so I

46:37

was so I was so I was so

46:39

I was so I was so I was

46:41

so I was so I was so I

46:43

was so I was so I was He

46:46

went and grabbed my night scope. I mean,

46:48

he drove up there and he got out

46:50

there just before dark and he'd gone diving

46:52

and had some abalone. He just, he had

46:54

some, he'd cooked some abalone, he brought the

46:57

abalone up and was sitting on top of

46:59

the truck, you know, it was just cooked,

47:01

it smelled really good. And so he had

47:03

a little Toyota pickup, I had my little

47:05

Toyota, two-wheel driver, we both had a little

47:08

Toyota standard two-wheel, we both had a little

47:10

Toyota standard standard standard standard cab, you know-

47:12

And we were parked right at the edge

47:14

of that regrowth and then John and Manny

47:16

were in one vehicle and Jim were down

47:19

there and they set up their call blaster.

47:21

You know, it was maybe 40, 50 yards

47:23

down from where we were parked there down

47:25

in the little spur road in the middle

47:27

of the clear cut. I was told the

47:30

age, I'm like, you know what, I want

47:32

to go up higher, I want to get

47:34

up and I saw this big old-growth stump

47:36

sitting up on the hill above those guys.

47:38

We measured it later as 125 yards from

47:41

the vehicles where we were parked so we

47:43

walked up there and I was so freaked

47:45

out still by what had happened five nights

47:47

earlier I mean I was I thought I

47:49

was gonna die five minutes earlier by these

47:52

things so I was pretty nervous and oh

47:54

we got there when we did the first

47:56

calls I before we even set the calls

47:58

I did my own calls we got this

48:01

crazy scream from down in the clamp we

48:03

were way below which is scream like the

48:05

classic murder woman being murdered scream. We were

48:07

like, oh, we're all excited. We're like, oh,

48:09

yeah, they're close by. And I said, hey,

48:12

John, can I borrow a gun? And Freitas

48:14

is the most. He was in the very

48:16

final episode of Finding Bigfoot where we went

48:18

out well not the final one I guess

48:20

was second last one the the Left Creek

48:23

one the He saw it before the reunion

48:25

shows the last one we did We're in

48:27

Willow Creek and we got those callbacks with

48:29

John we got the return calls But he's

48:31

the most that's the guy. He's the most

48:34

fearless him and moneymaker the two most furthest

48:36

guys I've seen out in the woods like

48:38

never afraid of anything at anything at all

48:40

like nothing like John's not phased by anything

48:42

I said Hey, can I borrow one of

48:45

your guns? He goes, I just got one,

48:47

he had a 357, I said, all right,

48:49

I'll take that. I put that in my

48:51

back pocket, I was a little snub nose,

48:53

I had my back pocket, I felt better.

48:56

So me and EH climbed up on the

48:58

hill, went up on top of that stump,

49:00

and I had to the night scope. And

49:02

then we were there for about, I think

49:04

it was about a half hour sitting up

49:07

there, and then John was doing a live

49:09

broadcast doing a live broadcast, Sightings that show

49:11

Sightings I can't remember the hose Jeff Rents

49:13

so John was doing a live call into

49:15

the show and He hit he actually the

49:18

Company had run him a satellite phone so

49:20

we had a satellite phone with him to

49:22

use for the call in they'd send him

49:24

so he was doing his call in live

49:27

call into the show and and just as

49:29

they're about to start from the tree line

49:31

where the where our trucks were like, oh

49:33

my God, there's one here. And I just,

49:35

what I'd heard a couple of nights before

49:38

that, like, like, I can't, it's like a,

49:40

oh, into a growl like, oh, that's not

49:42

it. But that's not it, but kind of,

49:44

oh, into a growl, like, oh, that's not

49:46

it, but kind of get the idea. There's

49:49

three loud, deep ones, came from that truck

49:51

before, five nights before. Stay

49:53

tuned for more Bigfoot and Beyond

49:56

with Clifin Bobo. We'll be right

49:58

back after these messages. I

50:05

was all excited, so E.H. and I passed

50:07

back the scope, passed back the scope. And

50:09

so John's, in the meantime, trying to talk

50:12

to the guy, Jeff Rents, on the radio

50:14

show live with his satellite phone, but it's

50:16

not coming in. It's, uh, he's having bad

50:18

reception. He's in a little baron, a classic

50:21

dude, Michael Scott. He had a, was it

50:23

a baron? No, it was a C-bring. He

50:25

had a convertible, he had a convertible C-

50:27

driving real slow just going a couple miles

50:30

an hour trying to get reception and he

50:32

gets reception right next to my truck and

50:34

he's parked there and I'm looking down he

50:36

goes hey there's a bear stomping its feet

50:39

and growling up in the tree line at

50:41

the truck and we figured well that makes

50:43

sense because we got the abalone up there

50:45

you know it's fresh abalone just cooked it

50:47

smells killer So we're looking there and looking

50:50

there. That's why I was looking to go

50:52

on. How could I miss it? I don't

50:54

remember that big stump. There's this big black

50:56

stump on my truck and Johnson, there's, Johnson,

50:59

there's on the other side of my truck,

51:01

you know, sitting down low in his little

51:03

convertible. I'm going like, and he's only 30

51:05

feet from it. And I'm going like, how

51:08

did he's only 30 feet from it? And

51:10

I'm like, there's like, I see this stump,

51:12

get up, get up. turn and walk into

51:14

the tree line. I'm like, I'm telling John

51:17

on the radio, dude, he was on a,

51:19

he was on a commercial break from the

51:21

sightings radio show. I'm on the, I'm on

51:23

a little walkie-talkie going, dude, how can you,

51:26

John, it's right next to you, it's walking

51:28

in the tree line, he couldn't see it,

51:30

it's behind my truck from his angle. Plus

51:32

it was dark, and he does not see

51:35

it, and it walks the show and I

51:37

was just blown away. So I was just

51:39

blown away. So I was just looking, looking,

51:41

looking, looking, looking, looking, looking, looking, looking. Were

51:43

those big trees coming at this point? I

51:46

didn't know that was the old trail the

51:48

hoopa trail foot trail There's there's a pretty

51:50

big stump down there like old growth redwood

51:52

stump and then a deciduous hardwood tree that

51:55

was probably 18 inches thick or so and

51:57

I'm looking down I going well what is

51:59

that I'm seeing movement and then I'm looking

52:01

and all of a sudden I see this

52:04

thing walk across that little gap where the

52:06

trail is it goes from the stump to

52:08

behind the tree and I'm looking going in

52:10

there was a little bit of moon coming

52:13

out there's just a little bit of moon

52:15

coming up behind the little bit of clouds

52:17

there's little partial clouds And when the moon

52:19

came out just enough for me to see,

52:22

there's enough light to see, I see it

52:24

go behind that tree. So its heads behind

52:26

the tree, but its shoulders hanging out each

52:28

side by a good foot, foot, and a

52:30

good foot, foot and a half, or sticking

52:33

out each side by a good foot, foot

52:35

and a half, or sticking out each side

52:37

of our sticking out each side by a

52:39

good foot, foot, and a half, sticking out

52:42

each side of our sticking out, and sticking

52:44

out of the coconut on the coconut. on

52:46

the another camera on the night vision it

52:48

would jump back behind the tree like it

52:51

was like it reminded me of an ostrich

52:53

with its head stuck between its leg under

52:55

the sand like okay if I can't see

52:57

them and they can't see my head then

53:00

I'm invisible but it's its body was taking

53:02

out both sides so I remember looking and

53:04

then it started and it walked back over

53:06

behind the stump and the stump came right

53:09

between its belly button in the bottom of

53:11

its chest and it started bobbing up and

53:13

down like a like a like I remember

53:15

look at Eric and I guess go It's

53:18

a giant freaking monkey. It's a giant freaking

53:20

monkey. It's doing that bobbing back and forth,

53:22

kind of like slowly bobbing. And like, it

53:24

would raise up on one foot, then raise

53:26

one arm, like it would raise up on

53:29

its right foot and raise one arm, like

53:31

it would raise up on its right foot

53:33

and raise its left arm and raised its

53:35

left arm and left leg, then shift its

53:38

left arm and right leg, like it was

53:40

agitated going back and it would lean forward

53:42

and walk like over behind the, like over

53:44

behind the. the night scope to Eric. And

53:47

we go back and forth for 2025. whatever

53:49

it is, just watching this thing, and it

53:51

would disappear whenever, when we couldn't see it,

53:53

John say, okay, it's approaching me, it's approaching

53:56

me, we never saw it come out on

53:58

the tree line by him again. I only

54:00

saw that one time where it came out

54:02

up there, but then he'd say, okay, it's

54:05

walking away there, we wouldn't see it, he

54:07

wouldn't, he wouldn't hear it for a few

54:09

minutes, then we'd pop back out of that

54:11

trailhead down below and would be looking up

54:13

looking up at us, and be looking up

54:16

at us, and then, looking up at us,

54:18

and then, looking up at us, and then,

54:20

looking up at us, and then, The radio,

54:22

the broadcasting with the call blaster, didn't Manny

54:25

and Jim didn't know that this was going

54:27

on, they didn't have a radio. So every

54:29

time John hit the, the brakes, that meant

54:31

to play the recording, the call blasts, so

54:34

that Jeff Ranch guys could hear it at

54:36

home. And as he's, you know, back in,

54:38

he's going back and forth, pulling back and

54:40

forth, trying to find the angle where he

54:43

could see and where it was. Ohio Hall,

54:45

Ohio call, and then an aggressive guerrilla call.

54:47

So I was pretty bummed because I didn't

54:49

want the, what was there to realize that

54:52

the calls were coming from us, but it

54:54

obviously did, because for the next 15 minutes,

54:56

his John went back and forth to me,

54:58

his breaks, there was another Ohio call. I

55:01

mean, this thing was loud, dude. It's just

55:03

echoing through the canyon for miles. And this

55:05

went on for a while, and then John

55:07

got fresher. He just said, I've got to

55:09

see this thing. And we didn't have any

55:12

cameras that could really record it. So he

55:14

backed up and put his high beams on

55:16

and, you know, scanned the tree line back

55:18

up so his headlight swept the woods and

55:21

then we didn't hear anything after that, just

55:23

went dead. But yes, that was my first.

55:25

Oh, so the next one we went down

55:27

there and that stump we measured, it was

55:30

six foot nine, six foot ten, basically. So

55:32

this we thought we thought it was a

55:34

four foot so looking at that night from

55:36

being next to the truck Eric never saw

55:39

it next to the truck I did healing

55:41

sat down by the tree line which was

55:43

further away, but we were guessing it was

55:45

seven We've, well, just from where we were

55:48

guessing, it was the, we've guessed the stump

55:50

was four foot tall, that it was seven

55:52

feet tall, because it was sticking about three

55:54

feet above the stump. We figured that, you

55:57

know, just looking for it there, we figured,

55:59

well, the tree's a 12 inch thick tree,

56:01

you know, it's sticking out of foot, you

56:03

know, it's a couple feet wide, and it

56:05

was almost as thick as it was wide,

56:08

not quite, but it was, it was, it

56:10

was really thick. It was really thick. We

56:12

get down there and the tree was put

56:14

in its heavy house about 18 inches and

56:17

it was sticking out 18 inches on each

56:19

side so it was like you know four

56:21

and a half foot across the shoulders or

56:23

something like that five foot four and a

56:26

half feet across the shoulders five feet maybe

56:28

at the month I'd say four four and

56:30

a half there's at least three foot thick

56:32

that way it had to be nine and

56:35

a half I thought I was ten foot

56:37

but our buddy who lived on the ranch

56:39

by there, who had sought on horseback, he

56:41

was on a flat, on a, he was

56:44

on a flat leveled off landing area from

56:46

a logging landing. He was on his horse

56:48

and it was behind a stack of logs

56:50

and he was on the ground that he

56:52

said it was he was looking right at

56:55

it and it was, he said it was

56:57

nine and a half foot tall. So it

56:59

was at least nine and a half, ten

57:01

foot tall somewhere in there. It was, it

57:04

was huge. Then John, I had to leave

57:06

out of, I had to get back to

57:08

town that morning. So I was out of

57:10

there pretty early too. Went down there and

57:13

I left and later that day he found

57:15

a 17 and three quarter inch long footprint

57:17

pressing the hard pan dirt is like, it's

57:19

like rock in the summertime when it's dry

57:22

like that. It's just, you know, it was

57:24

pressed down three quarter inch deep in the

57:26

deepest spots, but it was about a quarter

57:28

and a half. quarter to half inch deep

57:31

most of spots where it is the classic

57:33

eight foot across the ball, 17 inches long,

57:35

17 three quarter inches long, giant, you know,

57:37

just heavy. Let's put it, there's an art.

57:40

Our turtles put, we're impressed maybe an eighth

57:42

of an inch deep in these things, and

57:44

they weren't even that, maybe the sixteenth of

57:46

an inch, eighth of an inch at the

57:48

most. This thing was, you know, quarter inch

57:51

at the shallowest, up to three quarter inch

57:53

deep at the deepest. So I mean, the

57:55

turtle truck's not making a dent. This thing

57:57

was pressing into the ground where the turtles

58:00

were making a dent. So I mean, had

58:02

to have to have great mass and weight.

58:04

You have it after we saw that I

58:06

went to bed. I was just going to

58:09

sleep in the back of my truck and

58:11

I like, Eric, move over, I'm sleeping in

58:13

the back of the end. He had a

58:15

shell, he had a regular size, you know,

58:18

a small trailer truck with the, the shell

58:20

is the same profile as the height of

58:22

the cab. And he had a carpet kit

58:24

in the back so that he could put

58:27

like, you know, store wet seats and boards

58:29

underneath that, whatever, when he's sleeping. So I

58:31

got and you know it's room for really

58:33

one guy and I'm like didn't move over

58:36

so I squeezed in there with him We

58:38

laid there all night barely slept or we

58:40

thought for sure we're gonna get the truck

58:42

flipped over Because there was a lot of

58:44

stories back there were them picking up cars

58:47

and trucks and shaking them when people were

58:49

sleeping inside of them So people were sleeping

58:51

inside of them so that that was gonna

58:53

happen I thought I was gonna rip off

58:56

the back and tear us out of there

58:58

or something but nothing but nothing happened the

59:00

rest of the night it was the night

59:02

it was like it You know, just cuddling

59:05

up with my buddy all night. But yeah,

59:07

so then I spent a lot of time

59:09

up there. I mean, I spent nights and

59:11

nights and nights and nights with a Sony

59:14

night shot at there hoping that I had

59:16

a Sony night shot with a spotlight, a

59:18

portable spotlight, which you know, back when the

59:20

batteries sucked and they ruined out fast. They

59:23

weren't even that great of life. And they

59:25

were pretty good. They were pretty good. I

59:27

had that with some red, cellophane stuff, what's

59:29

it called. Yeah, like Dubitine, I think they

59:31

call it. So I had some red filter

59:34

over the light and then I had a

59:36

Sony nightshot camera and I spent the next

59:38

couple years up there just trying. and

59:40

hoping to see this

59:43

thing and I was

59:45

gonna spotlight it with

59:47

the spotlight and then

59:49

turn on the night

59:52

shot and film it,

59:54

you know, that way,

59:56

but I never had

59:58

any luck. But I

1:00:01

spent a lot of

1:00:03

nights out there. One

1:00:05

thing that did happen

1:00:07

out there when I

1:00:10

was out there looking

1:00:13

was when I was up at Dolson Prairie

1:00:15

up there, you can park and go hiking

1:00:17

down in the railroad park. It's inside the

1:00:19

park, it's right on the road. There's a

1:00:22

little parking lot there. I was sitting there

1:00:24

in this ranger camp because back then they

1:00:26

always thought I was some tweaker out there

1:00:28

up to no good. Like

1:00:30

they'd hassle me hard when they said they

1:00:32

thought I was, well, there's a lot of car

1:00:34

break -ins and there's a lot of math out

1:00:36

there. So they thought I was one of

1:00:38

those guys. So they'd always give me a hard

1:00:41

time and hassle me and stuff. So this

1:00:43

ranger comes with one of the ranger cops. He's

1:00:45

grilling me, he's convinced I'm on drugs and

1:00:47

I'm like, no, I just look like I am,

1:00:49

I'm not. And

1:00:51

he's giving me a real hard time. You know,

1:00:53

and he's pulling my whole car I mean he's

1:00:56

pulling my car apart. He's just pulling everything out

1:00:58

of the back and going through my bags. And

1:01:00

I was just like, damn, this guy's really giving

1:01:02

it to me. You know, was just trying to

1:01:04

be, you know, I always just cool them guys.

1:01:06

I never gave them any hassle. I was like,

1:01:08

I understand, I understand. Like, you know, I'm glad

1:01:10

you guys are out here because I've had my

1:01:12

car broken into numerous times over the years out

1:01:14

here. And so glad you're here and I understand

1:01:16

what you're doing. You're wasting your time on me.

1:01:18

You know, was telling them about Bigfoot. And I,

1:01:20

you know, cause I was always, I was always

1:01:22

talking, I was always trying to convince those guys

1:01:24

giving them like stats and, you know, who's credible

1:01:26

people that have seen them. This is that and

1:01:28

that. And, know, just whatever data details I had,

1:01:31

you know, lay on with them all the time.

1:01:34

So the dude, they're giving me this,

1:01:36

you know, he's passing me, just

1:01:38

going through my stuff. And also we

1:01:40

hear this roar, just a screaming

1:01:42

roar. And then we hear another roar.

1:01:44

And then all of sudden you

1:01:46

just hear this just bellowing and screaming

1:01:48

and roaring and his face dude,

1:01:50

his jaw dropped and his eyes popped

1:01:52

out of his head and then

1:01:54

he turned just went white. He was

1:01:56

so scared that he turned on

1:01:58

his mag light and shined it over

1:02:01

and Like 70 feet from us, 75 feet away, this huge black

1:02:03

bear jumped on a smaller black bear

1:02:05

and had its head in its mouth

1:02:07

and was just ripping it and tearing

1:02:09

it with its claws. And the one on

1:02:11

the bottom was screaming its bloody

1:02:13

murder. The one on top was roaring

1:02:15

and, you know, full attack mode. The other

1:02:17

one was full survival screaming

1:02:20

mode. And we just said they're going,

1:02:22

we were both like, oh my God, like,

1:02:24

this is crazy. And just watched this

1:02:26

bear just. He yelled at it, whatever, and

1:02:28

had his light in the light and all

1:02:30

that, and the big one let go, and

1:02:32

they split apart, and the little one ran

1:02:34

off, and the other one ran off the other

1:02:36

way, and then he was just like, you thought

1:02:39

it was a Bigfoot, didn't you? And I

1:02:41

was kind of laughing, and he was not

1:02:43

amused, he was like, he was like, well, no,

1:02:45

I go, I did, you were more scared than

1:02:47

I was, and I was scared for a minute,

1:02:49

and he just goes, and he just goes, and

1:02:51

he just goes, and he just goes, I was

1:02:54

like, I was like, I was like, I was like,

1:02:56

I was like, Nice. That's wild. Yeah,

1:02:58

because I had heard the story about

1:03:00

your first sighting with the Night Vision

1:03:02

Unit and Freitas being on the call

1:03:04

with the radio show, but I never

1:03:06

realized that that was right in the

1:03:08

aftermath of that other encounter and in

1:03:10

the same place. I had no idea. Oh

1:03:12

yeah, they were five days apart. I saw

1:03:15

it on April or May 26th, and the

1:03:17

first night encounter was May 21st. Well I

1:03:19

see we're coming up on our hour mark

1:03:21

here so maybe we can hop over to

1:03:23

the member section then and talk about some

1:03:25

of your other encounters whether visual or otherwise

1:03:27

they're if you're up for it. That sounds

1:03:30

good because my best setting wasn't long

1:03:32

after that a couple years later was

1:03:34

in the New Mexico and the Hickory

1:03:36

Apache reservation I'll tell that story. Oh

1:03:38

that'd be great. Yeah we'll hop over there now

1:03:40
