Here is part three of our five part series on Demystifying The Video Production Process. Today we help you to better understand picking the right location (location scouting), the video equipment you will need, some general points of wardrobe/set decor/make-up and creating/using a shot list! Location: What locations will best represent your visual needs while keeping budget and time in mind? Have you scouted your location and ensured it meets your needs? Do you need any special permits?
Equipment:Do you have everything you need or do you need to rent equipment?Do you have crew that can work with the equipment? What are the costs associated with the equipment?Do you have the RIGHT equipment? 4k vs 1080 hp etc.
Wardrobe / Set Decor / Make-Up: What kind of attention to detail do you want? What creates an engaging image rather than a static and stagnant shot? Are you using everything that is provided to you within that space? Do you have to build anything? Bring anything in? Rent?
Shot List (closely tied in with the shooting schedule): How many separate scenes do you have? Will you be filming everything in order or out of chronological order? How many different shots or camera setups do you have storyboarded? Have you calculated time correctly with each shot? Have you added in any buffer time?
