1:17
you. Why am I telling you this?
1:20
Because I've experienced this myself firsthand. Because
1:22
there's an incredible opportunity and you're missing
1:24
out. Because you're thinking it's something that's
1:26
going to be much harder than you
1:29
have time for. Or that, you know,
1:31
maybe you've struggled in other areas of
1:33
social media and you're like, oh, it
1:35
just, it seems like everybody's like really
1:37
young. And the jump cuts, the editing,
1:40
the thumbnails, like the Mr. Beast of
1:42
it all, like, I just, I don't
1:44
think I would be successful. I would
1:46
be successful. I would be successful. And
1:49
I'm here to tell you. You will
1:51
be. Welcome to the station and Build
1:53
Your Tribe. Thank you so much for
1:55
tuning in. This is an episode about
1:58
YouTube, so it's being filmed on YouTube.
2:00
listening to the audio, I would love
2:02
for you to scroll down below
2:04
the description you'll see for
2:07
this show there's a link
2:09
where you can actually watch
2:11
this video about YouTube on
2:13
YouTube. This platform right now
2:16
is having a resurgence and we
2:18
people are over 40, 50, 60,
2:20
70 are desperate to learn from
2:22
creators like you. I mean
2:25
there's a boat load, there's a
2:27
plethora. of creators who are in their
2:29
teens and 20s and 30s and even
2:31
in their early 40s. But the
2:34
older demographics are spending time
2:36
on YouTube. We love YouTube. We,
2:38
our age group, we're desperate for
2:40
longer-form content. Like the quick one-minute
2:43
videos, it's like, ah, you know,
2:45
after a certain point, you just
2:47
start to feel like, okay, I'm gonna
2:50
have a seizure. It's so much. and
2:52
you don't feel like you're making
2:54
any connections. You don't feel like
2:56
you're actually understanding something. It just
2:58
kind of makes you feel crazy,
3:00
the short form content, you know,
3:02
like Instagram and Tiktok, etc. And
3:04
by the way, I'm gonna hold
3:07
your hand in the most loving of ways as
3:09
I say this to you. You suck at
3:11
Instagram and Tiktok. I can say that because
3:13
I'm your same age and it's just, maybe
3:16
you're great at it, but most of us
3:18
are not great at it. And the reason
3:20
why is because... We are, don't take this
3:22
the wrong way if you're like in your
3:24
30s, but we're more real. I'm sorry. Like
3:26
a lot of the stuff that the younger
3:29
generations are making in the short-term
3:31
conduct. I'm like, this is so fake
3:33
and it's so highly produced and
3:35
it's so edited. And I know because my
3:38
son and I on a channel called Build
3:40
Your Tribe and it's a YouTube channel
3:42
that I started with my son, but
3:44
I'm going to talk to you about
3:46
two different channels. And I'm going
3:49
to explain to you why this
3:51
has been the most rewarding
3:53
and fulfilling social media
3:55
experiment of my adult
3:57
life, why I started
3:59
one. And this is probably the
4:01
reason you've not heard when you've watched
4:03
any other video on like why you
4:05
should start a YouTube channel over 40
4:08
over 50 over 60. But before I
4:10
do that, I just have to say
4:12
that so much of the content that's
4:14
out there, the short form content, is
4:16
so highly produced, so edited, that when
4:18
I meet these people in person, which
4:21
I do, because as I mentioned, my
4:23
son and I, we teach social media,
4:25
we teach Instagram to people who are
4:27
my age. My God, this is so
4:29
bad to say, but I'm just going
4:31
to be honest. Like whenever I do
4:34
an audit, I'm like, I don't know
4:36
if this age group is ever going
4:38
to get Instagram. Because it's so foreign
4:40
to us. The idea of like chopping
4:42
and cutting and editing and pretending and
4:44
the filters and the captions and the
4:47
B-roll, all these things. Like right now,
4:49
you haven't seen any of that and
4:51
you're paying attention. The reason why is
4:53
we are desperate for someone to talk
4:55
a little slower, to connect with us,
4:57
to explain things, to finish their thought,
5:00
to complete the idea, to answer the
5:02
questions. We don't want another, like, comment
5:04
below or like, like, and follow for
5:06
part two. Well, part one was only
5:08
two minutes long. Like, what do you
5:10
think I have all day? So I
5:13
go to these social media. conferences a
5:15
lot of times where like my son
5:17
or myself will be speaking and I
5:19
meet these other creators these creators have
5:21
like tens of thousands sometimes millions of
5:23
followers on Instagram or TikTok and dude
5:26
I'm here to tell you they're a
5:28
different person in real life so many
5:30
of them it's like a blank stare
5:32
they can't connect the same way they're
5:34
like so engaging and funny and entertaining
5:36
and you know everything's like quick and
5:39
very creative on these short-form social media
5:41
platforms, TikTok, Instagram, but then when you
5:43
meet them in person, it's like you
5:45
realize what they are is an edited
5:47
version of who they wish they were.
5:50
But we're different. We're different. Yeah, we're
5:52
different. Right. We just like, we don't
5:54
even know how to do that. You're
5:56
just real. And that's what people are
5:58
desperate for in our demographic on YouTube.
6:00
And because so many people in this
6:03
demographic are afraid to put themselves out
6:05
there because they're like, I have gray
6:07
hair, I've got wrinkles, I've got blah
6:09
blah blah, like all the reasons why.
6:11
What if somebody leaves the comment and
6:13
says, what are you doing on their
6:16
old lady? Give them a spanking, send
6:18
them to the room and tell them
6:20
that their mother would be so disappointed
6:22
because she raised them to have better
6:24
manners. Like, have fun with it, who
6:26
cares? Like, they're not paying your mortgage,
6:29
it's a child, it's an infant, it's
6:31
a newborn baby. Like, who's a newborn
6:33
baby? Like, who really cares? The place
6:35
to be right now is YouTube. And
6:37
let me explain some of the reasons
6:39
why you probably shouldn't. so that you
6:42
know, okay, I need to do this.
6:44
First, I want to explain why I
6:46
started one. So, as I said, I
6:48
teach Instagram, I have a podcast, I
6:50
have a TikTok, I've had a YouTube
6:52
for, like probably since YouTube first started,
6:55
and it was like flatline, it was
6:57
like nothing. And I kept trying, I
6:59
kept trying to do all the things
7:01
that the other like young kids are
7:03
doing on YouTube, and I would go
7:05
at it for like a couple of
7:08
weeks, and crickets. And it just, it
7:10
felt like so much fricking work. You
7:12
know, I'm like, oh God, the camera,
7:14
the people that edited it, the whole,
7:16
like writing a script, and now I
7:18
gotta figure out a teleprompter. I was
7:21
making it way, way, way, way too
7:23
hard. And I also didn't see the
7:25
point of it, because I'm like, the
7:27
action is on Instagram, the action is
7:29
on Facebook, the action is on TikTok,
7:31
isn't YouTube like, like, for young kids,
7:34
isn't it for, for, for, I don't
7:36
it for young kids, I don't it
7:38
for, I don't it for, I don't
7:40
it for, I don't it, like, like,
7:42
like, like, like, like, like, like, like,
7:45
it would take to grow a YouTube
7:47
channel. So I would try every once
7:49
in a while and it It wouldn't
7:51
go anywhere. But mainly it wasn't going
7:53
anywhere because I was trying to be
7:55
someone, something. I was trying to create
7:58
content that looked like everybody else's content.
8:00
And I knew what I was looking
8:02
for on YouTube. I was looking for
8:04
somebody who was like a girly, my
8:06
age, who didn't act all like buttoned
8:08
up. You know what I'm saying? Like,
8:11
I'm sorry, no offense. But there are
8:13
so few creators, older creators. Act like
8:15
my friends, like who say like and
8:17
speak off the cuff and sometimes they
8:19
cuss and they're fun and they're real
8:21
and they're raw. Like, sorry, but I
8:24
felt like they're very few creators in
8:26
the older age demographics who are freaking
8:28
fun, like let loose. But I know
8:30
they're fun in real life. So what
8:32
has happened in the last couple of
8:34
years is the creators over 50 even,
8:37
even 60. who are legitimately real and
8:39
not putting on this like phony act
8:41
are crushing it. Like it's so much
8:43
fun to be myself and to let
8:45
you judge the fact that I love
8:47
a lot of makeup and I love
8:50
a lot of jewelry and like all
8:52
of this is an aftermarket upgrade. Like
8:54
there's nothing real here. Like the hair
8:56
is purchased, the lashes aren't mine. The
8:58
nails aren't mine. Like you know what
9:00
I'm saying? Like none of the jewels
9:03
are real. All of it's fake, but
9:05
my heart is real. So when I'm
9:07
speaking to you, you're getting me. Recently,
9:09
I'm one of my YouTube videos, so
9:11
I have another channel. It's called Shelene
9:13
Johnson. I am Shelene Johnson, by the
9:16
way. This is Build Your Tribe. If
9:18
you haven't already, you should subscribe, because
9:20
this is where you're going to get
9:22
content for myself and my son. But
9:24
I have. The channel. The channel that
9:26
I started. The channel that I started.
9:29
The channel that I started a long.
9:31
The channel that I started. The channel
9:33
that I started. The channel that I
9:35
started. I started. The channel that I
9:37
started. I started. I started. I started.
9:39
I started. the Charlene Johnson channel. It's
9:42
the one that I struggled with so
9:44
much. And then when I just started
9:46
saying, like, screw it, I'm just going
9:48
to figure out what I want to
9:50
talk about and talk about it. it.
9:53
And I didn't have a goal other
9:55
than like I want to have fun
9:57
and I want to put pressure on
9:59
myself because all the other platforms I
10:01
feel like I have to be niche
10:03
down and I have to like promote
10:06
stuff that goes towards a sales funnel
10:08
or has you know and I just
10:10
was like YouTube I had it for
10:12
forever it's never worked so I'm just
10:14
gonna go at it and have fun.
10:16
Okay so recently I did this video
10:19
that I was like oh my god
10:21
I'm gonna get so much hate for
10:23
this but I don't get it like
10:25
me or get me I should say
10:27
they're gonna find this video and I'm
10:29
gonna be real up front and I'm
10:32
gonna tell you okay this video is
10:34
not for you if you're like an
10:36
all-natural kind of girl who's like I
10:38
want to age gracefully I'm letting my
10:40
hair grow out great that's great more
10:42
power to you I don't want to
10:45
wear all the makeup and I don't
10:47
want to do Botox awesome congratulations I
10:49
do and I want to talk about
10:51
it and I want to tell you
10:53
all the things and I made a
10:55
video you know, alienate some people, but
10:58
I was also going to attract people
11:00
who were also like, yes, finally, like,
11:02
tell us, girl, tell us all the
11:04
things, right? And there was a woman,
11:06
this is my favorite thing, there's a
11:08
woman who commented under it, she's like,
11:11
Shelene, you won't remember me. I met
11:13
you in a bathroom at 24 Fitness
11:15
in Houston, Texas, almost 20 plus years
11:17
ago, and I just have to say
11:19
I'm watching this video of you right
11:21
now. You were getting changed in the
11:24
24-hour fitness bathroom, you just finished doing
11:26
a fitness certification and you were like
11:28
trying to catch a flight. And she
11:30
was like, I just have to say,
11:32
I had such a good time talking
11:34
to you, you are the exact same
11:37
person that I met in that bathroom
11:39
like 25 years ago. And I'm like,
11:41
that's so validating. You know what I
11:43
mean? Because sometimes people will say like,
11:45
you know, in order to stay relevant,
11:48
you have to reinvent yourself. No you
11:50
don't. Re-inventing yourself sounds like you're making
11:52
something up. No, I've always been who
11:54
I am. And people our age, I
11:56
think that's the thing is like if
11:58
you get to... certain age where you're
12:01
like I just know who I am
12:03
but I might be into different things
12:05
so you can call that reinventing you
12:07
can call that rebranding I don't I'm
12:09
just putting out the new thing that
12:11
I'm interested in and we're not one-dimensional
12:14
at the time that that woman met
12:16
me I was into high impact kickboxing
12:18
and growing my business and my children
12:20
were young but I'm still the same
12:22
me my heart is the same my
12:24
voice is the same my values are
12:27
the same my passions are the same
12:29
I look 25 I mean, I do
12:31
look older, but you know what I'm
12:33
saying? Like, I'm wiser, and I care
12:35
less about what people think, but I
12:37
still care. And that was such a
12:40
compliment. And this is the other reason
12:42
why you need to start a YouTube
12:44
channel, because you're at an age now
12:46
where you're like, I just know who
12:48
I am. You need to start a
12:50
YouTube channel if you're interested in like
12:53
finding your people, and you like to
12:55
talk. And you don't need a script,
12:57
or maybe you want a script. That's
12:59
fine, that's fine, that's fine, that's fine,
13:01
that's fine, that's fine, too. I mean,
13:03
I can work off bullets. Sometimes I
13:06
do that. Am I working off of
13:08
bullets today? I should probably check my
13:10
bullets and make sure that I'm covering
13:12
all the reasons why you need to
13:14
start a YouTube channel. But the other
13:16
reason why I wanted to do this
13:19
is I have a podcast. It's called
13:21
The Shalene Show. And there came a
13:23
point in time where I'm like, you
13:25
know, after 50, it was probably like
13:27
around 50, I'm 56 now, it was
13:29
probably around 53, 54, where I was
13:32
like, I'm kind of my... direction. Like
13:34
the business that I'm currently in, like
13:36
I'm kind of bored with it. And
13:38
I kind of want to just talk
13:40
about girly things. I want to talk
13:42
about hormones. I want to talk about
13:45
menopause. I want to talk about health.
13:47
I want to talk about longevity. I
13:49
want to talk about like all the
13:51
things that women are whispering about, but
13:53
we just don't have enough information. And
13:56
I also want to talk about... Botox
13:58
and I also want to talk about
14:00
skin care and I also want to
14:02
talk about jewelry and I also want
14:04
to talk about Igniting passion and having
14:06
great sex with my husband after a
14:09
certain age like I want to talk
14:11
about all these things and also I
14:13
want to talk about drama that I
14:15
find in reality TV. You know what
14:17
I mean? And all those things are
14:19
just things that are fun that I
14:22
talked to my girlfriend about. And that
14:24
kind of content was not working on
14:26
Instagram. Why? Because it's not niched. It
14:28
wasn't working on Tiktok. Because it's not
14:30
niched. So I'm like, I'm going to
14:32
double down and I'm going to just
14:35
create real content on YouTube on my
14:37
other channel, which... Here's the link to
14:39
it below in our show notes. Look,
14:41
if you're already like, okay, that's the
14:43
kind of content I'm looking for, then
14:45
subscribe. If you're looking for content about
14:48
like how to grow your business and
14:50
how to build your social media and
14:52
email list building and funnels and all
14:54
of those things and monetizing your business,
14:56
subscribe here, build your tribe. They're two
14:58
separate channels. But I've got a podcast.
15:01
It's called The Shaline Show. And when
15:03
I learned. that 70% of people discover
15:05
their favorite podcast on YouTube. I'm like,
15:07
well, what am I doing? Well, then
15:09
my brain said, well, yeah, you can't
15:11
do that because your podcast, you do.
15:14
after hours and you have notes in
15:16
front of you and you can do
15:18
it whenever you want you don't have
15:20
to look cute and you can put
15:22
you know sweatpants on and all the
15:24
things that are making easy and if
15:27
you do a YouTube you're gonna need
15:29
special lights and a special camera and
15:31
a special microphone and you're gonna need
15:33
special editing and you're gonna need to
15:35
like you're gonna have to not make
15:37
any mistakes when you talk and all
15:40
those things and I'm like no I
15:42
don't and who cares let me just
15:44
try. I'm recording on my iPhone. I'm
15:46
recording this on my iPhone. I'm using
15:48
a program called Squadcast. It's very much
15:51
like Riverside or Streamyard. It's just a
15:53
third-party application. It's like Zoom, basically. And
15:55
so I record, it saves to the
15:57
cloud. So I don't even have to
15:59
figure out how to upload it. It's
16:01
automatic. It just saves to the cloud.
16:04
And then I have a virtual assistant
16:06
who you can hire on fiber-fiverrr.com, or
16:08
you can find on upwork.com. You can
16:10
find someone who they'll just log into
16:12
your cloud account, they'll edit your video,
16:14
and a couple days later, you've got
16:17
a fully edited video, if you need
16:19
it to be edited. But like this,
16:21
I'm going to put it in a few
16:23
graphics or whatever, but I
16:25
could edit this easily, and I did
16:27
it at first. Until I kind of
16:29
figured out like oh, you know what I don't
16:31
even have to do that because that was a
16:34
cumbersome obstacle for me is like Figuring out. Okay.
16:36
So how do I upload it and how do
16:38
I then upload it to YouTube like all of
16:40
those things? You do not have to figure that
16:42
out for like pennies on the dollar There's
16:44
so many freelancers in other countries and even
16:46
here in the US who will do this
16:49
because it's so easy for them. They can
16:51
do it in their sleep Where you and
16:53
I have to be like, okay, did I
16:55
click the right button? What tags do I,
16:57
like, all those things, I don't want to
16:59
have to deal with that. I just
17:01
outsourced it for like nothing. There's
17:03
so many people that do this.
17:05
It's insane. And it's super duper
17:08
affordable. So affordable. Like
17:10
every day I get, I don't
17:12
know, probably 1520 messages from somebody
17:14
who's like, I can handle this,
17:16
I will edit your videos, I will
17:18
make your whole YouTube account, I'm
17:20
like. We already got a handle, but
17:23
there's so many people that do this
17:25
because it's simple for them. So you
17:27
don't have to worry about that. You
17:29
don't need an expensive camera. You don't
17:31
need expensive lights. I will say for the
17:34
ladies, lighting is important, right? Because it's going
17:36
to make you feel more confident if you've
17:38
got good lighting. So I'm happy to share
17:40
with you if you want. I can do
17:42
a whole another episode, another YouTube video showing
17:45
you my setup. Right now I'm filming on
17:47
my iPhone. I'm filming on my iPhone. All
17:49
the newer, when I say newer, I think
17:51
like, is it the iPhone 13 and
17:54
beyond have continuity camera? It's just
17:56
a setting, super easy, it uses
17:58
the back camera, it's much. higher
18:00
quality can film in 4K. I'm bad
18:02
at the text stuff. I can never
18:04
figure out a camera. I can never
18:06
figure how to attach a microphone to
18:08
it, all that stuff. No, this is
18:10
plugged in USBC to my laptop. This
18:12
is a nice microphone actually. But if
18:15
you look back on some of my
18:17
earlier videos, I'm using a cheap microphone
18:19
and I'm using a portable light that
18:21
I travel, like a lot of times
18:23
I'm just filming in our hotel room
18:25
because We travel a lot, so it
18:27
doesn't interfere with my life. It's not
18:29
hard, it wasn't expensive, because our demographic
18:31
wants it easy mode. We want it
18:34
easy mode. We don't want it highly
18:36
produced. We don't want flying graphics. We
18:38
don't want all the B-roll. We don't
18:40
want all the... We're like, just... It
18:42
makes us feel a little suspicious. Like,
18:44
I can't trust you. It's almost like,
18:46
you know, you're wiping away all the
18:48
fog to see, like, like, what's real.
18:50
less produced, less fake, you know what
18:53
I mean? I mean, take no offense
18:55
if you like the super-ended videos, but
18:57
easy mode is the way to go.
18:59
I've done a whole video on what
19:01
I mean by easy mode, and why
19:03
easy mode on YouTube for creators who
19:05
are over 40 is crushing right now.
19:07
Like in preparation for this video, I
19:10
just probably typed in the same thing
19:12
you did, like over 40 start a
19:14
YouTube. And every person that popped up
19:16
popped up, they're creating easy mode videos.
19:18
Meaning, they're not even using a special
19:20
thumbnail. I've done a whole video breaking
19:22
down what I mean and how easy,
19:24
easy mode is. So you can check
19:26
out that episode. I'll link it below
19:29
in our description. Now, if you're new
19:31
to YouTube, when you see the description,
19:33
it'll just be the description. When you
19:35
see the description, it'll just be like
19:37
a couple of sentences, and then it's
19:39
truncated. It'll expand the rest of my
19:41
description, and that's where you'll see the
19:43
links to the other videos to the
19:45
other videos. I created a video last
19:48
week that has already earned me I
19:50
think $17,000 and What? What? Just talking
19:52
to my girl? You know what I
19:54
mean? Like that's insane to me. It's
19:56
got over a quarter of a million
19:58
views. What? And dude. Usually when you
20:00
get over a hundred thousand views, the
20:02
comments are so rude. You know what
20:04
I mean? You get like weird haters.
20:07
Look at any of else's channel, that's
20:09
what's going on. Not for our age.
20:11
Because we don't play. So the people
20:13
were going to be attracted to your
20:15
videos. It's going to be people our
20:17
age. And guess what? We're grown adults.
20:19
We're not going to rip another adult
20:21
apart. I'm not kidding. I've got thousands
20:23
of comments, and they're all really positive
20:26
and nice. They're complementary. They're encouraging. So
20:28
it's an ego boost. You know what
20:30
I mean? It's encouraging to find your
20:32
people. So I know you've probably watched
20:34
other YouTube channels, and they've said, you
20:36
know, start a YouTube channel to grow
20:38
your business, to build your brand, to
20:40
create awareness. to start a podcast to
20:42
create an extra stream of income to
20:45
fill your time like all these different
20:47
reasons why you should start a YouTube
20:49
channel like to leave a legacy blah
20:51
blah blah I don't care what the
20:53
reason it really doesn't matter you think
20:55
you should start one the answer is
20:57
you should and what you need to
20:59
know is it's easier than you think
21:01
you're going to be far more successful
21:04
than you realize but here's my advice
21:06
to you don't try to do it
21:08
the way the younger kids are doing
21:10
it. Do it the way you would
21:12
do it. You need good lighting. You
21:14
need to capture our attention in the
21:16
first one minute. That's very important. You
21:18
need to have a point. But you
21:20
don't have to speak perfectly. You don't
21:23
have to read a teleprompter. In fact,
21:25
I don't think you should. I think
21:27
the more real and honest of the
21:29
videos I watch of creators who are
21:31
over 40-50-50-60 when I look at their
21:33
channel and let's like they have... like
21:35
600,000 views on one video and I'll
21:37
look at their other videos. The one
21:39
that pops off is always the one
21:42
where they're real. So, how do you
21:44
get real on camera? You pretend that
21:46
you're talking on Face Time to your
21:48
best friend with the same attitude, the
21:50
same inflection, the same everything. That's when
21:52
you're real. So right now, I'm not
21:54
thinking about filming a YouTube video. I'm
21:56
talking to my friend. And I'm speaking
21:58
to her in the same passionate way,
22:01
in the same relaxed way. that I
22:03
would if we were face timing. I'm
22:05
not thinking about millions of people because
22:07
then it's hard to be yourself. I'm
22:09
not thinking about a hundred people. Then
22:11
it's hard. I'm not thinking about like
22:13
the doctor in the audience or the
22:15
person who is an attorney or the
22:17
person. I'm not thinking about one person
22:20
who loves me. And we love talking
22:22
and we have the same interests and
22:24
the same hobbies and we're connected and
22:26
I get me and I get her.
22:28
And so when I think, I literally
22:30
think of her. And so here's a
22:32
little tip of you're filming on your
22:34
iPhone. You can use this, it's just
22:36
this little adapter that goes on the
22:39
back of your phone, it clips on
22:41
here, and it just sits on the
22:43
top of my laptop. So then on
22:45
a separate screen, so I can see
22:47
it on my desktop, I have a
22:49
photo of the friend who I'm the
22:51
most real with, and the friend who,
22:53
like, when I see their face, I
22:55
know they adore me, I know that
22:58
I make them laugh, I keep them
23:00
entertained, right? And so I look at
23:02
that face, I look at that face,
23:04
I look at that picture, I do
23:06
this picture, I do this picture, I
23:08
do this, I know it sounds goofy,
23:10
it sounds goofy. It works. I look
23:12
at that photo and I'm like, I'm
23:14
just talking to her. And I get
23:17
a better product, I get a better
23:19
video. I get a more authentic me.
23:21
It takes time, it takes practice, it
23:23
takes consistency. You don't have to post
23:25
even as often as you think you
23:27
do. I thought I had to post
23:29
two YouTube videos a week, probably three.
23:31
No. I post like maybe three a
23:34
month, sometimes four a month, like so
23:36
one a week that comes out on
23:38
Sunday. I'd love to make sure you're
23:40
subscribed. If that type of content is
23:42
interesting to you, to the Shelene show,
23:44
subscribe there, that video. comes out every
23:46
Sunday. The one here, I'm Build Your
23:48
Tribe, my son and I, we alternate.
23:50
So every Thursday, you're gonna either get
23:53
myself or Brock, and we're talking to
23:55
you about business. And I think you'll
23:57
really enjoy Brock's content too. The dude
23:59
is a whiz, and he's, I created
24:01
him. Well, shall I say, I co-created
24:03
him. I'm very proud of my kids.
24:05
I really am. They're super cool. My
24:07
daughter just started a YouTube channel, too.
24:09
And you know what? She's doing easy
24:12
mode and she's 25 and she's killing
24:14
it. She's killing it. And you're going
24:16
to be able to monetize your channel
24:18
as soon as you have a thousand
24:20
followers, but like don't even worry about
24:22
that. Just create content that has a
24:24
point. Think about what you're going to
24:26
say in the first minute. Think about
24:28
your title first. Think about what is
24:31
the title. And then search the title
24:33
that you think that you're going to
24:35
go with. Search it in YouTube. So
24:37
you can see what other people have
24:39
done. And then you can sort the
24:41
videos that you're searching for, sort them
24:43
according to views, so you can see
24:45
like, okay, what creators are the most
24:47
popular for this title, and look at
24:50
what they did in the first minute.
24:52
You know what I mean? So if
24:54
you're going to not script something, but
24:56
like if you're going to have bullet
24:58
points, and it's fine if you want
25:00
to script something, but like the first
25:02
minute, yeah, sure, like nail it so
25:04
that you can hook people and they
25:06
stay with you the entirety of the
25:09
YouTube video. You know when you're really
25:11
stressed or not feeling so great about
25:13
yourself? You know when you're really stressed
25:15
or not feeling so great about your
25:17
