A brilliant series, not because of the rather hackneyed Houdini story, but because of the focus on Rose Mackenberg and the many other detectives who toured ahead of him, gathering material for his stage show. They are the unsung heroes of the debunking, putting Houdini's wealth to good use. She continued the work long after his death and "the final seance", declaring in 1945 that his message from the grave remained undelivered.
