Dr. Shobita Parthasarathy is an academic and author. Currently, she is Professor of Public Policy and of Women's Studies at the University of Michigan, where she is also Director of the school's Science, Technology, and Public Policy program. Her work focuses on the governance of emerging science and technology, particularly those that have uncertain environmental, social, ethical, political, and health implications. She also provides expert advice on technology, equity, and policy to civil society groups, international organizations, and governments around the world, including testimony to the U.S. Congress.Parthasarathy has published multiple academic articles. Her first book, "Building Genetic Medicine: Breast Cancer, Technology, and the Comparative Politics of Health Care," was published in 2007. Her second book, "Patent Politics: Life Forms, Markets, and the Public Interest in the United States and Europe," was published in 2017Parthasarathy received her A.B. in Biology from the University of Chicago and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Science and Technology Studies from Cornell University.

Currently, she is the CEO of Citizen Data.Previously, Finn worked as a digital strategist for the Republican Party, most notably for George W. Bush and Mitt Romney's presidential campaigns in 2004 and 2008, respectively. She was the vice presidential candidate for Evan McMullin's 2016 presidential campaign. She co-founded the organizations Stand Up Republic and Empowered Women.
