Start your business for the
0:02
freedom of time. Now you're
0:04
tired of the hustle and
0:07
grind. There's gotta be a
0:09
better way. It's time to
0:11
listen to chill and prosper.
0:13
Welcome to chill and prosper.
0:16
You're ready to chill and
0:18
prosper. With Denise, I feel
0:20
Thomas. Hello beautiful, it's Denise
0:22
here and welcome to a new
0:24
episode of Chill and Prosper. So
0:27
today we are talking about goals
0:29
for this year. So we're in
0:31
2025, obviously it's not the very
0:34
start of the year. which is
0:36
totally fine. I've realized too that
0:38
calendar year thing does not work
0:40
for my brain. In Australia we
0:43
have school holidays, we have our
0:45
summer break, kids don't go back
0:47
to school until February. This year
0:49
they went back like sixth of
0:52
February. February is a short month
0:54
anyway and so I'm not even
0:56
thinking really about what I want
0:59
to achieve until at least. March,
1:01
right? And so I think even if
1:03
we kind of just write off the
1:06
first couple of months of year, but
1:08
it does not matter. You could be
1:10
listening to this episode at any time
1:12
and there's no time like now to
1:14
actually set goals, right? Because I think
1:17
sometimes we forget the basics
1:19
of things like the law of attraction
1:21
where setting and intention is so important
1:23
and we kind of just we get
1:25
a little bit vague and we get
1:27
a little bit drifty. Okay, so if
1:29
you're like me where maybe the last
1:31
couple of years you got a little
1:33
bit cynical about that stuff or you
1:35
got a little bit lazy or you just
1:38
thought you just forgot about some of those
1:40
basics of like setting goals and setting intentions.
1:42
Well, this is a great episode to listen
1:44
to and I'm going to share some of
1:46
my goals for the year and I want
1:48
you to just spend a little bit of
1:51
time thinking about them as well. Now, there's
1:53
one other thing that I wanted to
1:55
do a little bit of a shout
1:57
out. So I know there are so...
2:00
kids who listen to chill and prosper
2:02
and I've been very aware of this
2:04
and moms and dads I've been trying
2:07
to swear less on the podcast so
2:09
I don't know if you've noticed that
2:11
but I still do it a little
2:14
bit because I know that there are
2:16
a lot of kids listening so a
2:18
big shout out to all the chill
2:20
and prosper kids who are sitting in
2:23
cars on the way to school on
2:25
the way to ballet practice karate practice
2:27
and I know that you listen to
2:29
the theme song to the the theme
2:32
song too as well. So a big
2:34
shout out to Corphy as well, who's
2:36
listening with her mom, Misty Corphy. Thank
2:39
you for listening and you know all
2:41
of the words too. And just a
2:43
big shout out to all the other
2:45
kids listening as well. And I think
2:48
this episode is great for you to
2:50
listen. You can never be too young
2:52
to learn about the power of setting
2:54
goals. My kids love writing down their
2:57
goals now and my sister. who is
2:59
my baby sister. She's just turned 26,
3:01
so she's 19 years younger than me.
3:04
She said recently, she goes, I've been
3:06
listening to you and I've done a
3:08
dream board. This is a couple of
3:10
months ago. And then I saw her
3:13
this week, she's like, all the things
3:15
on my dream board are coming true
3:17
and I should have put more things
3:19
on there. She's got her new job
3:22
that she wanted, like all of these
3:24
things have turned up. And I was
3:26
like, yes, that is the power of
3:29
intention of intention of intention. sometimes. I
3:31
know I've gotten out of those habits
3:33
in my early years. I was like
3:35
doing my dream boards all the time
3:38
and then I just kind of just
3:40
forgot or just got out of the
3:42
habit of it. So let's get into
3:44
that space now. Now there is a
3:47
worksheet, a little workbook that you can
3:49
download for this one if you go
3:51
to DeniseD.com/goals, G-O-A-L-S and it can take
3:53
you through a little bit of a
3:56
process of creating some like money goals
3:58
and things like that too. Really really
4:00
easy. But you know what? There's just
4:03
something powerful sometimes about writing it down
4:05
anywhere. If you've got a piece of
4:07
paper handy, you've got a journal, but
4:09
don't make it this big thing of,
4:12
oh, I can only do it on
4:14
a Monday, I can only do it
4:16
on the first of the month, I
4:18
can only do it with a brand
4:21
new notebook. No, you can literally do
4:23
this right now. So I love doing
4:25
the wheel of life. Okay, when I
4:28
first did my life coaching certification, when
4:30
I first did my very first, you
4:32
know, personal development courses, I always start
4:34
with the wheel of life. And you
4:37
can do it in two ways. One,
4:39
you can do an assessment of where
4:41
you're at right now, but then use
4:43
it to create a balanced goal, or
4:46
balanced goals. So there's a couple of
4:48
different ways that I love doing goal
4:50
setting. You don't have to do all
4:53
of them. I would just say, listen.
4:55
as ideas spark for you, just do
4:57
that. Okay, there's no perfect way to
4:59
do it. So the wheel of life,
5:02
I'll put it in a handout too,
5:04
is just to make sure that you're
5:06
not out of balance in one area
5:08
of your life. Okay, so it's just
5:11
a wheel, and we've put it into
5:13
eight segments, and we've put it into
5:15
eight segments, so I'll go through them
5:18
quickly, and we'll go. We're going to
5:20
go into them. Money and prosperity, like
5:22
love life relationships, friends and family, health
5:24
and vitality, fun and enjoyment, business and
5:27
career, personal growth and making a difference.
5:29
They're the ones for life. Obviously if
5:31
you're really wanting to set business goals,
5:33
you would break those up to be
5:36
a bit more business-y. But the reason
5:38
why I like to this bit over
5:40
like overall is you want to give
5:43
yourself a score. Okay, so each segment
5:45
has a spoke from the middle. If
5:47
you score that zero at the moment,
5:49
it would be closer to the middle.
5:52
If you're scoring at a 10, which
5:54
would be the maximum, it would be
5:56
on the outside. And so you go
5:58
through each spoke and you just kind
6:01
of go overall, you know, how is
6:03
like... relationship with my spouse at the
6:05
moment. Where is that? Where is money?
6:08
And you do it as an overall
6:10
thing before you kind of break it
6:12
down because what I like to see
6:14
is like where the imbalance is because
6:17
it's a circle and obviously if it
6:19
was like a tire for a bike
6:21
you'd want it to be a nice
6:23
round circle. As soon as there's a
6:26
couple of spokes that are like really
6:28
off you're not going to be able
6:30
to ride your bike. Okay, so just
6:33
think of that simple analogy. Now, there's
6:35
been times in my life where business
6:37
was going great. And I almost, with
6:39
my money personality, I'm a ruler, I'd
6:42
almost not even care about the other
6:44
stuff. I'd be like, health and vitality,
6:46
who gives a crap? Friends and family,
6:48
pff, whatever. Like, I'd just be like,
6:51
business and create a personal growth making
6:53
a difference, money. And so, like, that's
6:55
one side of the equation. You know,
6:58
and I'd be like, all those things
7:00
are doing great, you know, I'm making
7:02
a difference with my clients, I'm making
7:04
hits money, I'm in my personal growth
7:07
phase all the time, who needs friends,
7:09
who needs health, who needs like, enjoyment
7:11
outside of that, who needs creativity, whatever.
7:13
And even a relationship, you know, that's
7:16
probably one that's been such a challenge
7:18
for me because it's just not being
7:20
a priority for me. I'm like... Sorry,
7:23
let's suck it up. We're doing some
7:25
work, especially since we work together. So
7:27
that's the first thing I want you
7:29
to do. Just do a bit of
7:32
an overall like score of where you're
7:34
at in each of those areas. And
7:36
it's all on the handout for you.
7:38
Next we can go into each of
7:41
those and to think of a couple
7:43
of different goals for that area. Now
7:45
this is just one like goal setting.
7:48
thing I'll share. I do like another
7:50
one which is called B do have
7:52
as well. I love that one. But
7:54
for this one we could just go
7:57
through and go, okay, if you could
7:59
only choose and I'm going to limit
8:01
you to three, for some of these
8:03
segments, three is not enough. for some
8:06
of them you'd be like, how am
8:08
I going to come up with three
8:10
goals for like friends and family? And
8:12
so it can be like an overarching,
8:15
like big general goal, like you know,
8:17
have more friends this year or see
8:19
more friends, or it can be something
8:22
really specific. So it could be like
8:24
go on a girl's trip with my
8:26
friends. And so you know, you know
8:28
if you've done it or not by
8:31
the end of the year. Whereas like
8:33
make new friends, see my friends more
8:35
often. It's fine to put down if
8:37
you know what that actually means, or
8:40
if that's just going to be a
8:42
focus for you and you can just
8:44
figure it out later on, you know.
8:47
So similarly, like with relationship, that can
8:49
be a really tricky one to set
8:51
goals around, but it could be, you
8:53
know, we're going to go on a
8:56
date night and be realistic, right? We
8:58
were before we were going, let's do
9:00
every Wednesday doing a date night and
9:02
then we realized, but it sounds really
9:05
funny. We're going to go into the
9:07
movies, we're going to gold class movies,
9:09
and we're like, it's costing us like
9:12
300 bucks to go to gold class,
9:14
buy food, hire a babysitter, and we're
9:16
just sitting and watching a movie where
9:18
we could just watch that, watch something
9:21
at home. Because Mark was like, do
9:23
you want to go out to a
9:25
concert? I was like, I really don't
9:27
like going out at night. We went
9:30
out to see... I don't even want
9:32
to say who it was because it
9:34
might sound mean, but we left at
9:37
half time because I was like, it's
9:39
nine o'clock, if we get home now,
9:41
we can like snuggle with the dogs
9:43
and we can watch an episode of
9:46
whatever show we're watching. So yeah, like
9:48
you can be more specific, but also
9:50
be realistic if you're like, oh, day
9:52
night, what's week? No. So it could
9:55
be just like, we connect, you know,
9:57
once a month, we do something just
9:59
for us for us. Okay? Friends and
10:02
family. Like, so a big goal for
10:04
me this year is to speak to
10:06
my friends more. So I've been calling
10:08
my friends on the way to and
10:11
from ballet. And that's not a big,
10:13
like, make a million dollars goal this
10:15
year. But it's like something that is
10:17
making my life more balanced. and you
10:20
know, bringing like a feeling of community
10:22
to me. Okay, so that makes sense.
10:24
So you go through health and vitality.
10:27
Now for a number of years when
10:29
I was growing up, my health and
10:31
vitality ones were all always around weight.
10:33
I was like, I wanted to lose
10:36
weight. I wanted to do, you know,
10:38
and now I have a lot of
10:40
goals around this area because for me
10:42
that is related to my ballet. as
10:45
well, but also about like eating more
10:47
whole foods and like actually, you know,
10:49
having a bit of a meal plan,
10:52
like that's a big goal for me
10:54
just to feel healthier. Fun and enjoyment.
10:56
So again, there's stuff around ballet, around
10:58
creativity and not making it a business,
11:01
you know, doing stuff like that for
11:03
the sake of doing that. Okay, then
11:05
I've got some business and career goals,
11:07
which we can. dive into a little
11:10
bit personal growth, making a difference. So
11:12
a couple of years ago I had
11:14
a really big goal around like increasing
11:17
our charitable contributions and I haven't done
11:19
that. as much last year. So this
11:21
year we've got a charitable fund that
11:23
did really well in the last year
11:26
because it's invested and to be able
11:28
to like make some grants from that
11:30
is one of the goals in that.
11:32
And in personal growth that was something
11:35
that I always had such a big
11:37
goal around and it was always related
11:39
to my business. And this year my
11:42
personal growth, my big lesson is to
11:44
not be responsible for everybody. there's some
11:46
really practical like family things that are
11:48
coming from that too of just like
11:51
going no my personal growth is like
11:53
I'm sorry I'm putting myself for putting
11:55
myself first and not everything has to
11:57
be for other people or including my
12:00
business okay so that's that kind of
12:02
wheel-of-life thing now the next goal-setting exercise
12:04
I mentioned is B do have and
12:07
I love this one's so much because
12:09
I feel like it gives you a
12:11
chance to brainstorm and just write down
12:13
whatever you want and then you can
12:16
go in and like refine it a
12:18
little bit later. So it's really easy.
12:20
You have three columns which you can
12:22
just have on that on DeniseDT.com/goals. Put
12:25
it in there for you. And it's
12:27
like, what are some things I want
12:29
to be, do and have? Okay. So
12:31
sometimes people will put like, be more
12:34
peaceful. So what would make you more
12:36
peaceful? You know, a nice one on
12:38
that one could be be an author.
12:41
That could be a goal for you
12:43
this year to be an author or
12:45
maybe you want to get a qualification
12:47
or something. So it's like to be
12:50
a coach, to be a real estate
12:52
agent. I would often put ones to
12:54
like, you know, be more present with
12:56
my kids. And so what would be
12:59
the actual thing that would make you
13:01
be more present? So now for me,
13:03
it's like jumping on the trampling with
13:06
the kids going, like going in the
13:08
pool with the kids, saying yes to
13:10
things. Like, you know, when I'm driving
13:12
them to places, like really have a
13:15
conversation. That then gives me something I
13:17
can tick off. Okay. Same with do.
13:19
So do is often a little bit
13:21
easier to quantify, so you might have
13:24
things that you want to do this
13:26
year, like go to a conference. For
13:28
me, mine are not so much business
13:31
ones, but it's like... taking the kids
13:33
to the Easter show, which will be
13:35
fun, like going away with each kid,
13:37
going to see more shows with Willow,
13:40
stuff again around my ballet. Like I,
13:42
this is, I'm just going to say
13:44
it out there, it sounds so silly.
13:46
I'd love to be in a ballet
13:49
campaign for like a major brand because
13:51
so many of the brands, they just
13:53
use a lot of like young, very
13:56
skinny. girls and I've noticed that some
13:58
ballet brands are really good at having
14:00
different ages, different bodies and so that
14:02
is one of my goals to do
14:05
right? It's not a business goal but
14:07
this is where you can kind of
14:09
dream. And what I notice is when
14:11
you do things like this, some will
14:14
not be that important for you, but
14:16
you're just kind of parking them for
14:18
the future. But also you can refine
14:21
them then to create a bit of
14:23
a plan for the quarter. Okay, so
14:25
that was the do. Have would be
14:27
things like what do you want to
14:30
have? So it might be you want
14:32
to buy a new car this year,
14:34
you want to buy a new laptop.
14:36
It could be something that's like a
14:39
bit more tangible and a new job.
14:41
And then what you can do with
14:43
each of these. spend a minute on
14:46
each column and write as many things
14:48
as you can, right? And if you're
14:50
really, really stuck, like, either you're not
14:52
giving yourself permission to dream, or there's
14:55
just something there where there's a block,
14:57
and sometimes the block is, I don't
14:59
believe I deserve these things, I don't
15:01
know how they would happen, or you're
15:04
just not used to... being able to
15:06
ask. You're not used to even dreaming
15:08
for free. Okay, so it is a
15:11
practice to do this. And I often
15:13
find when I like get people to
15:15
do this at a conference, they'll just
15:17
go blank. I don't know what I
15:20
want. So it's like just write down
15:22
anything. Let yourself just dream it and
15:24
whatever. Okay, and then we go to
15:26
the next step. All right, so let's
15:29
take a quick break and then we'll
15:31
see what we do with that little
15:33
brainstormed brainstormed list. See in a second.

and you're ready for the next step.
17:09
I can't wait to see you in
17:11
Money Boot Camp. Go to Denise D.com/offer.
17:14
Hey everybody, this is
17:16
Rachel Faith from Bellenden
17:18
Australia. I am a
17:20
homeschool mom and I'm
17:22
a homeschool teacher and
17:24
my new business venture
17:26
is about creating a
17:28
model for homeschool teachers
17:30
to replicate. But the
17:32
confidence to do that
17:35
has come from reading
17:37
Denise's books, Get Rich
17:39
Lucky Bitch and Children.
17:41
and being part of
17:43
her money boot camp
17:45
has been amazing and
17:47
sacred money archetypes has
17:49
helped me not only
17:51
understand myself better but
17:53
also clients and other
17:55
potential clients and how
17:57
to tailor-make. my
18:00
introductions for them. It's all been really
18:02
wonderful. My confidence has improved and I
18:04
can see how important it has been
18:07
for me to work on my money
18:09
sabotage and to rewrite my money story.
18:11
That's what's been profound for me to
18:14
not just be on repeat from my
18:16
family story, generations of poverty, hardship, victim
18:18
mentality, wrap that I can say goodbye
18:20
to. Love you work Denise and I
18:23
love the money boot camp community as
18:25
well. So thank you everybody. Okay welcome
18:27
back we're talking about goal setting. Now
18:30
you might think yeah I don't need
18:32
this or yeah I think I know
18:34
what my goals are but I always
18:36
say that when you're being vague to
18:39
the universe it's like calling up your
18:41
local pizza place and saying send me
18:43
a pizza you think I'd like. If
18:46
you're in a phase where you feel
18:48
really stagnant and things aren't happening it's
18:50
probably because you haven't been specific in
18:52
what you've been asking for. And you
18:55
could look at it from a woo-woo
18:57
point of view of like asking the
18:59
universe for it or you can think
19:02
of it from like a brain science
19:04
point of view of like what am
19:06
I training my brain to think and
19:08
focus on right now? Because that's what
19:11
happens, right? If we go, I want
19:13
to work on this thing, you start
19:15
to see all of the opportunities, your
19:18
brain also starts to think of all
19:20
the bad things that could happen around
19:22
it, you start to get, you know,
19:24
in your head, but it does have
19:27
a way of focusing your attention. Okay,
19:29
so once you've just written down stuff,
19:31
and I want you to think of
19:34
it like, you're a kid who believes...
19:36
that Santa will bring them anything they
19:38
want or they're allowed to ask for
19:40
whatever they want on their birthday list
19:43
and you're asking with just like no
19:45
rhyme or reason about what things cost
19:47
or whatever you're just like naive expectation
19:50
right that's a great way to go
19:52
into it then you could go to
19:54
each list or on the Wheel of
19:57
Life and think, what are some real
19:59
priorities for me this year? You know,
20:01
some things on second glance you'll go,
20:03
that's a nice to have or that's
20:06
something that's just not a big priority
20:08
for me. What do I really want
20:10
to focus my time and attention on?
20:13
And what I love with Tim Ferris,
20:15
he talks about dream casting, right? So
20:17
you would take your B, do have
20:19
list. and you would maybe pick two
20:22
things from each column and you work
20:24
out what it's going to cost for
20:26
you to have that. And it's a
20:29
very practical way of going, okay, well,
20:31
I want a new car, it's going
20:33
to cost this amount of money, you
20:35
know, if I start putting away X
20:38
amount per week or per month, then
20:40
it would be an inevitability, right? And
20:42
then you can sort of, I like
20:45
keeping things open for the universe to
20:47
send you a random windfall, but then...
20:49
you would be able to set maybe
20:51
your annual income goal from that. Because
20:54
like, sometimes when you go and do
20:56
goal setting, it starts with like, well,
20:58
how much you want to make. And
21:01
so notice how I didn't start with
21:03
that at all. We didn't, because the
21:05
number doesn't really matter. And this is
21:07
where we can kind of get caught
21:10
up in. bigger and better numbers or
21:12
comparing our money goal to someone else
21:14
and it's actually completely irrelevant. Like who
21:17
cares what you want to make because
21:19
you and I might live in different
21:21
cities, cost of living places, countries, currencies,
21:23
we have different goals and dreams and
21:26
so when we're always comparing our goal
21:28
to someone else like it's we're trying
21:30
to fit into their clothes and wear
21:33
their shoes and it just doesn't make
21:35
any sense. And so Unless you know
21:37
what your goals and dreams cost, you're
21:39
just picking an arbitrary... number really right
21:42
so if you were to think of
21:44
like if I just said okay straight
21:46
away what how much you want to
21:49
make this year so a lot of
21:51
people go blank they really do and
21:53
they get really scared because they think
21:55
There's no information, there's no grounding behind
21:58
it. They're afraid to set a number
22:00
and like not achieve it. And so
22:02
this is a really great way working
22:05
backwards to go, okay, if I want
22:07
to, you know, get really fit and
22:09
healthy and do PT, okay, well, that's
22:11
something that's going to cost money, how
22:14
much is it going to cost? And
22:16
I'll link to the Tim Ferris spreadsheet
22:18
too, because it's a really great way
22:21
of going, is it a one-off cost,
22:23
is it a monthly cost, and then
22:25
it gives you a bit more information?
22:27
That is a great way to set
22:30
an income goal. You know, and for
22:32
years I was just like, well, we
22:34
made this much last year, so let's
22:37
make more. And that's great. That worked
22:39
for me for a number of years.
22:41
I was like, I'll just make that.
22:44
But then it stopped getting motivating because
22:46
it didn't mean anything to me. And
22:48
if you're someone who needs a lot
22:50
of meaning, to be motivated to do
22:53
stuff, then it's common to get really
22:55
blocked and scared around it because it
22:57
just doesn't feel good to you. You're
23:00
like, why am I even doing this?
23:02
So you might think when it comes
23:04
to setting like a number, do I
23:06
go for a really big stretch goal
23:09
and motivate myself to achieve it? Do
23:11
I go for something that's more realistic?
23:13
Do I go for like how to,
23:16
you know, cover my lifestyle? All of
23:18
those things are... have their place. And
23:20
I would say, what's motivating to you
23:22
right now? Because I've been motivated by
23:25
all of those things. I've been motivated
23:27
by a big stretch goal to achieve
23:29
something really big. I've been motivated by
23:32
just like an arbitrary number. You know,
23:34
when I wanted to make a million
23:36
dollars, I just wanted to I wanted
23:38
to see if I could do it.
23:41
It wasn't particularly tied to anything. I
23:43
didn't need to make it. I just
23:45
wanted to stretch myself and to say...
23:48
that I had a million dollar business.
23:50
That's valid as well. You might be
23:52
someone who is shifting and changing the
23:54
way you live and work at the
23:57
moment and that is the thing that
23:59
is going to set your goal. Okay,
24:01
so don't overthink it because perfectionism absolutely
24:04
gets in the way here. The other
24:06
thing I want to say too is
24:08
people get very caught up in... wording
24:10
and how to set goals. So have
24:13
you ever heard people say, you know,
24:15
you should always set them in future
24:17
tense or you should always set them
24:20
in past tense as if you've already
24:22
done it? And I've got a very
24:24
strong opinion on this is that it
24:26
depends on your personality. Some people love
24:29
thinking about the future. So for me,
24:31
ruler, I'm always like visionary thinking about
24:33
what if and I actually get more
24:36
pleasure thinking about goals in the future.
24:38
Some people though it freaks them out
24:40
because the future is so uncertain. So
24:42
for some people they like to speak
24:45
as if it's happening right now in
24:47
the present. So it could be, you
24:49
know, I'm so grateful that I now
24:52
like live in my dream house. Like
24:54
it feels grounding. And some people like
24:56
to set their goals in the past
24:58
tense. It's like, oh, I'm so grateful
25:01
that I did the work that, that,
25:03
like, achieved my dream house, as if
25:05
it's already done. Does that make sense?
25:08
So there's like all these little nuances
25:10
when it comes to setting goals. And
25:12
then what you do is you take,
25:14
like, whatever those top goals are for
25:17
you that you've maybe prioritised a little
25:19
bit. and then we put them into
25:21
the real world that we can touch
25:24
and feel and smell them. Okay, and
25:26
this is another thing where it's totally
25:28
dependent on your personality to make that
25:31
real because otherwise, you know, you write
25:33
your goals down first of January, you
25:35
forget about them. So how can we
25:37
make this really real for you so
25:40
you start to activate your brain, you
25:42
start to activate the law of attraction?
25:44
And there's no right or wrong around
25:47
this. It's always about what works for
25:49
you. your personality. So a good example
25:51
is looking at your senses. Okay, so
25:53
I smell for me is a very
25:56
powerful manifesting tool. So I'll buy perfume
25:58
that's like gives me confidence. That's why
26:00
I loved Lady Millions perfume. I know
26:03
so many people have bought it now
26:05
and it's like seen as mass marketing.
26:07
But like when it first came out,
26:09
I was like, oh my God. there's
26:12
the empire one, there's the fabulous one,
26:14
there's kind of one for every archetype,
26:16
but it was a really big thing
26:19
for me just to be like, yes,
26:21
I'm like, you know, a millionaire, and
26:23
it became a little bit of like
26:25
an anchor for me. I always talk
26:28
about when I was manifesting my beach
26:30
house that I had a candle that
26:32
smelled like the beach, you know, when
26:35
we were selling our rose farm, like
26:37
I'd used scent in that way too
26:39
of like smelling the rose scent. And
26:41
it was just a little reminder of
26:44
like, this is what I'm this is
26:46
what I'm playing for. So you could
26:48
look at one of your goals for
26:51
the year and go, what does that
26:53
goal smell like? And how can I
26:55
embed that into my life? So then
26:57
when I'm not sitting riding down my
27:00
goals, I still remember it becomes a
27:02
bit of an anchor for me. And
27:04
you could get perfume, you could get
27:07
essential oils, you could get like hand
27:09
wash. You know, like I had my
27:11
rose hand wash for a long time.
27:13
anything that evokes that emotional connection for
27:16
you, because that's what it gets us
27:18
to achieve the goals, right, is just
27:20
that excitement, that energy to go, oh,
27:23
I am manifesting that, what would that
27:25
feel like? So maybe it's like a
27:27
really like fancy hotel that you've been
27:29
at and you find out what ham
27:32
wash they use, or you've been on
27:34
holidays. or just a smell that you
27:36
go, oh, that reminds me of Italy,
27:39
and that's that trip that I want
27:41
to book this year. Okay, all those
27:43
things are very, very powerful. So what
27:45
does your goal smell like? Okay, that's
27:48
the question for you. The next one
27:50
would be, what would my... sound like.
27:52
Okay, so I've used this in a
27:55
few different ways. So one, I've used
27:57
the sound of my own voice to
27:59
help me manifest. An example of that
28:02
was when I was in my 20s.
28:04
I really want to manifest this trip
28:06
to go traveling all around the world,
28:08
talk about it in my book Lucky
28:11
bitch. And I'd be at the train
28:13
station in the snow and I'd walk
28:15
up and down the train station and
28:18
I would say out loud. the speech
28:20
that I would give about how I
28:22
manifested it. So it's like writing the
28:24
book about how I manifested the thing
28:27
before I manifested it. And the speaking
28:29
it out loud was the words that
28:31
I needed to hear, to believe that
28:34
it was possible, and then I did
28:36
the work. It gave me the courage
28:38
to do the things to manifest that
28:40
trip. You might... listen to podcasts, right?
28:43
So when I was writing my book,
28:45
all I listened to was podcast about
28:47
writing, because it activated that thing of,
28:50
oh, this is what people do, we
28:52
write books. And so it normalized it
28:54
for me. Okay, so if you want
28:56
to manifest something really big, you put
28:59
yourself in that space where all you're
29:01
hearing. is confirmation that that is possible
29:03
for you. So it's either inspirational stories,
29:06
you're talking to people, you're learning from
29:08
people who have done the thing that
29:10
you want to do. Okay, so that
29:12
can activate. like your belief, but also
29:15
I think to the way you can
29:17
either hear it or sometimes you can
29:19
see it, like if you're in groups
29:22
where people are talking about that stuff,
29:24
you see it, you believe it, if
29:26
I hear it, I believe it. Okay,
29:28
so that could be a hearing thing
29:31
for you where that's really powerful. You
29:33
need to hear it to understand it
29:35
to believe it for yourself. Some of
29:38
you, it is a visual thing, right?
29:40
So it could be that's where you
29:42
do your dream boards. You put yourself
29:44
in the environment. every weekend when I
29:47
wanted to manifest my beat. house, I'd
29:49
go to the beach because I wanted
29:51
to see and I'd be like, this
29:54
is what my view is going to
29:56
be like. This is what it's going
29:58
to be like. I wanted to be
30:00
in that environment to see it, to
30:03
believe it. And then I would actually
30:05
go to that neighborhood that I wanted
30:07
to. And it's so funny because that's
30:10
where we ended up buying our house,
30:12
the exact neighborhood that I walked up
30:14
and down all the time. And I
30:16
remember saying to Mark. I was walking,
30:19
looking at it, hearing the ocean, you
30:21
know, so that's another thing. You could
30:23
listen to things and saying to Mark,
30:26
one of these is a house. I
30:28
don't know which one it's going to
30:30
be, but it's inevitable. And we didn't
30:32
have any money. I was just trying
30:35
to like believe it. And then I'd
30:37
go, I'd get enough of a charge,
30:39
I'd go back and I'd do my
30:42
work to make my money. You know,
30:44
all those things are very powerful, back
30:46
on. seeing. Colors. So that's I think
30:49
where I got obsessed with blue is
30:51
because I was like, I want to
30:53
leave near the beach, so I'm going
30:55
to fill my house with things that
30:58
look like the beach. So I dressed
31:00
in blue, I had shells and beach
31:02
stuff all around me. That's when it
31:05
started to manifest the beach house. And
31:07
then I just happened to love that,
31:09
love that color. I put my dream
31:11
boards in as many places as possible
31:14
on my phone when I picked it
31:16
up. pictures and anchors around the house,
31:18
pictures of views. All of those things
31:21
to be able to see it and
31:23
to believe it. You might be more
31:25
of a kinesthetic person and you really
31:27
need to feel it. Like either feel
31:30
it in your body or feel it
31:32
physically. And so for you, like going
31:34
to the place that represents your goal
31:37
could be really important. Go to open
31:39
houses in your dream neighborhood. It's free.
31:41
Go test drive cars, sit in the
31:43
car, sit in the car. Go to
31:46
fancy furniture stores and sit and see
31:48
what it would feel like. Wear nice
31:50
clothes. You might have little talismans or
31:53
something like that so it could be...
31:55
a ring, a bracelet, earrings, jewelry, a
31:57
little fidget, something that could remind you
31:59
of it. I had a really big
32:02
goal one year to really work on
32:04
healing my inner child. So I bought
32:06
a charm for my inner child. It
32:09
was like a little teddy bear on
32:11
my key ring and I just would
32:13
pick it up and it would remind
32:15
me to do that work and I'd
32:18
go, I love you, you're safe. I
32:20
didn't even need it for that long
32:22
for me to feel like I'd made
32:25
in roads in healing my inner child.
32:27
the kinesthetic experience was more powerful for
32:29
me than to sit and to visualize
32:31
it, if that makes sense. Okay, so
32:34
think about your senses and how that
32:36
will help you manifest your goal. And
32:38
it has two purposes. One, to keep
32:41
you focused, but without an exhausting amount
32:43
of work. you know, of going, oh,
32:45
I must write down my goals all
32:47
the time. It just like becomes part
32:50
of your daily life. And that's the
32:52
second one to acclimatize you to it.
32:54
That's why we do it. So you
32:57
can feel what it would feel like,
32:59
you can see what it would feel,
33:01
and all of that strengthens your belief.
33:03
Okay, so think about what you want
33:06
to achieve this year, and then we
33:08
find a practical way for it for
33:10
you to remember that goal. And they're
33:13
the ones that are going to manifest.
33:15
Like they're the ones that are going
33:17
to come up. Half the ones on
33:19
your list, you don't care enough about
33:22
to create a cent for. But the
33:24
ones that are really important to you,
33:26
and they might not be the biggest
33:29
financial goal, they might not be the
33:31
most complicated, but they're the ones that
33:33
are important to you. They're the ones
33:36
that you take that next step for.
33:38
Just spend a little bit of time
33:40
thinking about it. and those little anchors
33:42
they don't take much time to set
33:45
up and like you know here's an
33:47
example and if you can see it
33:49
on the video it's like a rose
33:52
farm I bought this when I was
33:54
manifesting my rose farm you know and
33:56
so it became a little anchor and
33:58
you know now I'm sold the Rose
34:01
Farm, I'm like, I'll find another one.
34:03
Notice how I said sold. It hasn't sold
34:05
yet as time of this recording, but
34:07
by the time you listen to it,
34:09
and I've asked Mark as well when he goes,
34:12
you know, if we sell it by this, I'm
34:14
going, when we sell it? You
34:16
know, it's little things like that
34:18
make the difference of setting goals.
34:20
We really can break it down
34:22
into like manageable, practical, but also
34:24
like, there things we can have
34:26
control over. to make us feel like
34:28
we actually can do it. Okay, all
34:30
right, so download that. I'd love to
34:32
you what your goals are, but I
34:34
do have one final thought for you
34:36
after this last break. Don't go away.
34:39
See you in a second. Bye. Hi,
34:41
my name's Rochelle Williams and
34:43
I run an epic community for
34:45
network marketers teaching them automations
34:47
and systems for their business.
34:49
Being a fellow Aussie I
34:52
have followed Denise for many
34:54
years and been very inspired
34:56
by her entrepreneurial journey. I
34:59
have read all of the books
35:01
and I'm also part of the
35:03
money boot camp and I cannot
35:05
recommend it higher. It has absolutely
35:07
changed the way that I do
35:09
business. But the most epic breakthrough
35:11
that happened for me is doing
35:13
my money archetype and realizing
35:15
that since becoming a mother
35:17
and moving into motherhood I had
35:20
stifled my celebrity status and stopped
35:22
kind of stepping up to the
35:24
microphone myself. I had, you know,
35:27
held myself in the shadows of
35:29
my business and got really good
35:32
at tech and behind the scenes.
35:34
And so having done that archetype
35:36
test, I was able to really
35:39
step into the limelight and
35:41
really shine my light and do the
35:43
things that I was holding back. Having
35:45
been an actress and a singer for
35:47
a long time. I knew that that
35:49
was my flow and that was the
35:52
place that I needed to be, but
35:54
I just needed that little nudge from
35:56
somebody to kind of go, actually, no,
35:58
that's your archetype. That's where you... need
36:00
to be in your genius zone
36:02
and in your flow. And that's
36:04
where it gets to be easy. So
36:06
thank you so much for your inspiration,
36:09
Denise. Okay, welcome back. So, sometimes people
36:11
really resist setting goals because they don't
36:13
know how they're going to do
36:15
it. And they get really caught up
36:18
in, but how Denise, how, how. And
36:20
I've noticed that some really miraculous things
36:22
have happened in my life when I've
36:25
just given myself permission to dream. The
36:27
dreaming part is free. It really is.
36:29
Don't be afraid to get very
36:31
specific into some of your goals and
36:34
to really nut out stuff. Like for
36:36
example with my one time when I
36:38
was looking for a new job and
36:41
I was like, I really want a
36:43
short commute. And I felt like I
36:45
wasn't allowed to even put it
36:47
down. And I finally went, no, I
36:50
want to shock me. And I found
36:52
a job like five minutes away from
36:54
my house. I didn't even know there
36:57
were companies near me, right? And so
36:59
we're scared to even write it down.
37:01
We're not wasting paper. We're not
37:03
setting things in motion that we don't
37:06
want. You're allowed to dream. Give yourself
37:08
permission to dream. And I would even
37:10
say as well, like, literally put your
37:13
hand on your heart now. And
37:15
say, it's safe for me to dream.
37:18
It's safe for me to dream. It's
37:20
safe for me to have goals. It's
37:22
safe for what I want. And what's
37:24
going to happen there is some things
37:27
might rise to the surface where you
37:29
go, no, but I'm not allowed to.
37:31
Oh, I had a good year last
37:33
year. I'm not allowed to have even
37:36
more. That's the juice, right? Your job
37:38
is to write. and then you can
37:40
work on the stuff that comes up.
37:42
But if you're always worried, like, oh,
37:45
I've got blocks, I'm not going to
37:47
do it, and you never write things
37:49
down, just doesn't set those things into
37:51
motion sometimes. So you're allowed to dream,
37:53
give yourself permission to do it, and
37:56
sometimes the how is not important right
37:58
now. The how will get figured out.
38:00
your job is just to dream. Give
38:02
yourself permission to do it. Okay, don't
38:05
forget to download the worksheet and always
38:07
send me a DM if there's a
38:09
bigger heart or write on the comments
38:11
for this episode. And yeah, let's have
38:14
a great year. Like no matter what
38:16
time of year you're listening to this,
38:18
you can have a great week, a
38:20
great month. Just give yourself permission to
38:23
dream and just set those things down
38:25
and allow the universe to meet you
38:27
halfway. That's it. All right, that link
38:29
