David Kohlbrenner is a PhD student at UC San Diego working with Sysnetand CryptoSec advised by Hovav Shacham. His research focuses on howhardware design impacts software security. David's work bridges gapsin understanding between hardware and software to build systems thatare deserving of trust. As part of his research efforts, he has workedextensively with web browsers to demonstrate new vulnerabilities andintegrate new defenses. Previously, David received a B.S. in ComputerScience from Carnegie Mellon University and co-founded the SanDiego-based startup Somerset Recon.
