mean, so today we're talking about authority.

Yes, we are. And authority in the

spirit is so crucial because here's the

thing. If you don't take your authority

in the spirit, this is something that

was given to you and I. We

are in our 20s. And we are

moving from one place to another. And

somebody said, I want to tell you

something to tell your husband. Tell him

if he does not take his authority

in the spirit, the enemy will take

it from him and use it against

him. You know, it's very interesting

in heaven or will be bound in

heaven, but I'm thinking why do things

I mean, it's talking specifically about

when... you're in disagreement, discord with

senior pastors. I'm walking out of

the auditorium with the lead pastor

of the largest church in Hawaii,

and this couple and... I don't think

they were Samoan, but they were one

of the other big Polynesian islands. Like

they could. They're saying they made you

look small. Yes. Okay. Yes. So they're

standing in the aisle. They have physical

authority. Yes, they have physical authority. They're

standing in the aisle like you're not

getting past me. And so I stopped

along with the senior pastor and the

wife was so outspoken. She was like,

my husband's not the same. He doesn't

preach the same. He doesn't lead our

church the same. And I'm like, well,

okay, wait, wait, wait, wait. You guys

are pastors. And she said, yes, we

lead this church or the lead pastors

of this church. I was like, okay,

okay. She said, my husband's a change

man. And then all of a sudden

she whips out an an x- And

I'm thinking, okay, that's great. That's a

perfect eye. Then she whips out a

second x-ray, and it's a picture of

an eye, but it's got a bunch

of black stuff in the back part

of the eye. And I said to

her, what is that? And she said

this rare degenerative nerve eye

disease that has 15 letters

to it. It's very rare.

It causes its patients to

go blind rapidly. permanently

brine and permanently. Okay, so I'm

like, okay. And she said, and

my son was diagnosed with it.

Now her 12-year-old son was standing

right next to her. And she

said, John, we had the entire

church praying. My husband and I

were fasting and praying. And he

started reading the book that you wrote

called Relentless. Which is an

amazing book. Yes, he started reading

it last month. And so this is

January. So first day of December, he

started reading it in his devotional time.

She said one morning, he comes busting

out of his room where he does

his study and says, we're doing this

all wrong. We keep asking God to

give us what he's already given to

us. Yeah. Now, I want everybody just

listening to me to stop and think

about something. Did Jesus ask God

to calm the storm? No. He spoke to

the storm directly. Directly. Did he

ask God to curse the fig tree?

No, he spoke to the tree. Is there

one time Jesus asked the Father to open

up a blind eye or a deaf ear?

Now, the only time we see

him actually communicating to the father

is when he prays out loud

saying, I know that you hear

me, but I'm not praying out

loud so that you'll hear me,

but so that these that are

listening know that you hear me.

And so he's bringing some people

into a situation where he's saying,

is involved. So that was the

situation where he commanded Lazarus to

come forth. So he didn't ask

Lazarus from the dead? He said

and think about the apostles.

All right? Peter and John are

walking into the temple and this

guy who's been crippled since birth.

Yeah. And he's begging. He's

a professional beggar. is

expecting to receive something from

Peter and John. And Peter said,

look on us. He said, I'm

not giving you silver or gold.

I don't have silver gold. He said,

but what I do have, I'm going

at him and says, in the name

of Jesus, get up and walk. Yeah.

guy starts realizing we keep asking

but God's already healed our son.

So he said to his wife that

day, we're going to stop asking

God to heal our son. We're going

to start speaking to his eye

in the name of Jesus. Well,

they completely stopped, told the church

to stop. So that day, Lisa,

this is amazing. That day. They had

their monthly checkup. And there's

a protocol they followed. They

go to the lab, they get

the lab x-rays done, then they

go to the professional offices, and

the doctor assesses. How rapidly the

disease is taking this boy's sight

away, right? Well, the doctor comes

in after they go to the lab and

he said, they really messed up over there.

He's furious. He's like, you got to go

back. I'm so sorry. They made a mistake

on the x-ray. You got to go back

and get another x-ray. So they go.

back to the lab, get the x-ray.

And they're two different buildings. They come

back to the professional buildings where the

doctor's office is, he comes in and

he goes, I can't believe it. I'm

actually going to go over to the

lab with you and we're going to

do this a third time. So I

go back over, the doctors

involved in the x-rays this time,

they go back to a professional

office and the doctor comes

in with your son's eye.

He's perfectly normal. Well, two

in that very same church and

that same couple came up.

Now that boy is 14

and he's taller than me.

And the mom said, his

eyes are still perfect. I

the thing that really struck

can help people is. It wasn't

that they were asking God to

do something. There are things we

have to ask God. I had

to ask God to help a

pastor friend of mine this morning.

I had to ask God to

help my daughter-in-law and son and

son with something this morning. Those are

11:33

things we asked for, right? But there

11:35

are things that are like mountains adversity,

that Jesus says you say to the

mountain. I believe it's because we live

11:42

in a fallen world. And you've got

11:44

these forces of darkness that are right.

11:46

The course of this world is according

11:49

to the prince of the power of

11:51

the air. But yet God gives us

11:53

this ability to stand up and use

11:55

the name of Jesus. His name through

11:57

faith in his name made this man.

Right. That's what I believe,

so many believers are

lacking. Yeah, so I'm

hearing, just for clarity, say,

I am hearing that we

can ask in the name of

Jesus. So we say, Father,

name of Jesus my son's eyes are

being recreated. We don't say, Father, would

you please heal my son's eyes? We

speak the solution in the name of

Jesus because we do believe that we

pray to the Father and we thank

him, but we also believe that we

have the right to speak to

the situation, that we can speak

to the storm, that we can

speak to the mountain, that we

12:42

can speak to the problem. And

Jesus said, okay, okay, listen. Ask

and you will receive he's not saying ask

me he's saying ask for the solution in

my name I love I was just reading

this before I came because I was

actually getting ready for my podcast tomorrow

But I was reading about how when

Peter went into Java There was a

lady named Dorcas. She was also called

Tabitha and she was so beloved by

everybody, but she she died And I

love what Peter does he goes into

the room Neel's down in praise. Yeah.

Then he walks over to her bed

and said, Tabitha, get up in the

name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. So

again, using the name, she got up

out of that bed. Just like Jesus

said, Lazarus, get up and I just want

to encourage because I have met so many

people, they say, oh, I keep asking God,

would you please heal me of this? God,

would you do this, would you do this?

And sometimes I think, have you ask God

if you should speak God if you should

speak to this, if you should speak to

this, Whoever says to the mountain,

be removed, be cast into the

sea, and doesn't doubt in his heart,

but believes what he says, shall come

to pass, he or she will have,

whatever they say. And then I just

look at this as I think there

are times when God says, okay,

you've prayed, you've asked, like you

said. You'll ask the father of

my name. Now you need to speak

to this. I remember when my knee

was supposed to be operated on.

One of the best surgeons

in the country told me that.

And I didn't want to do at least, I

didn't want to go under the knife. And

I remember, you know, I could have, and

it probably would have been made better, but

14:21

I just thought, God, I'm able to walk,

I know, I remember we were in Greece

actually, we were with a ministry, two other

14:27

ministry couples in between meetings. I remember how

14:29

I was walking down one step at a

14:31

time, I'd go to, to, to, to, to,

14:33

because that right knee was so messed up.

14:35

And I spoke to it for nine months

14:37

every single morning in my prayer closet.

14:39

I just said, I command you in

14:41

the name of Jesus. If it's the

14:43

meniscus, if it's whatever it is, command

14:45

you to be healed. And nine months

14:48

later, it was totally fine. And so

I just want to encourage, I think

both of us are saying, we want

to encourage everybody. There's some things

you need to speak to in the

name of Jesus. Yes, absolutely. So

John, somebody's out there and they're

wanting to know. When do I pray. and

speak to something, and when do I

thank God for it? Because I have

found, you've kind of highlighted this a

little bit, that there's times that we

just say, thank you, you know.

You know, I thank you father

that you hear me, you know

15:20

this need, there's something going on,

15:22

and it's maybe something we can't

15:24

even speak to, it's just something

15:26

in the atmosphere, like for example,

if you have an oppression in

15:30

your household, I've told women, like

15:33

so many times I'll say there's

15:35

just this heaviness and this oppression

15:37

in my household, and I just

15:39

live under this constant oppression and

15:41

heaviness in this household, and I'll

15:43

say, well, wait a minute. Do

15:45

you believe that God is

15:47

the one putting a heaviness

15:50

and an oppression in

15:52

your household? No. No, I

15:54

don't believe that. Well, then it

15:56

is up to you to steward

15:59

the atmosphere. of your household. So

if you find yourself in a

situation where you are fighting something

16:05

that God does not want you

to have as a norm in

16:10

your life, you have the right

to say, hey, I will not

tolerate oppression. I've had women say,

listen, they've come from a rough

situation, they come into a woman's

meeting, and I'll tell them, I'll

say, this won't you say this

after me, when I go home

tonight. when my feet cross the

threshold, I bring the presence

of God. I bring the

authority of the spirit. I

am not caving under oppression.

I am not allowing for

rebellion and perversion. And I

command the atmosphere of my

household to be subjected to

the spirit of God. So

when we know what God's

will is, when we know

his word, and there's a

lot of people, John, that

don't know. what is available

to them because they don't know

they think oppression, depression, heaviness,

lack, and you know, I remember

there was a moment where you

and I are newly married,

but have any children, we

had no money, but we kept

giving at the church, we

kept giving, and... And then our

car window blew up and we

were just, everything was a problem.

And we'd go to church and

people were like, well, I just

gave $100 and someone put $10,000

in my mailbox and I'm like,

well, we gave $100 and our

17:37

window blew up. And I remember

you and I sitting in the front

seat of our car and crying. Do

you remember that? We sat in our

17:46

car and we cried. We've done

17:49

everything right. And everything is

17:51

wrong. And you know, it was

17:53

so sad and having you were

17:55

still working at Rockwell at

17:57

the time. And I remember.

I remember I was working in

an accounting at the church and

18:04

I had come home and I

18:06

heard, I heard, I am not your problem

because I was whining. God, why

aren't you doing this? Why aren't

you helping us? You know, and

he said, I'm not the one

standing between you and... your finances.

He said there is an enemy

and you need to speak the

18:24

word of God. He is stealing

18:26

and stealing and stealing and you,

Lisa Bevere, need to rebuke that

devour. And I remember I just

got mad in the kitchen. I

was like, that's it. I've had

it with everything. Like we are,

we are, we are tithers. We

are givers, and I am, I'm

taking hold of the promise of

God that he rebukes the devour.

So as we have sewn, that

devour is rebuked. Because see, Satan is

a legalist. And if you don't know

who you are in the spirit, he

18:55

will run roughshod over you. He will

take everything he can. He is a

18:59

liar. He is a thief. And you

know, this idea of, you know, we

19:04

know that he's been stripped of his

19:06

authority, but it's kind of a now

and not yet. Like, there is, he

has been displaced, but he has not

19:13

been completely defeated. Like, God has started

something in the spirit, but he's not

casting in the lake of fire yet.

And so that is why Ephesians tells

us that we're in a battle, that

we need to take the weapons of

19:26

our warfare, that we are in a

19:28

battle, but we're not bustling with people.

And so many people are using their

19:32

authority against people instead of the spiritual

realm. You know, you think about it,

19:37

a policeman, they're given a

19:39

badge, they're given a gun,

19:41

they're given authority and they're

19:43

given power to be able

19:45

to... Yeah, yeah. I mean, if that policeman

doesn't act, doesn't exercise

19:49

the authority that's been given

19:52

to him, then lawlessness will continue

19:54

in his community. And you

19:56

could have that or you can have

19:59

policemen who... knows, hey I've been given

this authority and this power to serve

20:03

my community and I'm going to keep

20:05

order in this community so people's lives

don't get destroyed. People don't get taken

advantage of and I think that's the

20:12

way it is in the spirit. I

mean Jesus has deputized us basically with

his name and given us his power.

And that's why the weapons of our

warfare, they're not fleshly, but they're mighty

in God to the pulling down of

20:25

strongholds. That's why we're told we don't

20:27

war against flesh and blood, but against

20:30

principalities, against powers, rulers. We're in a war.

And a war doesn't mean that we cry

20:34

out and say, can you do something for

20:36

me? I mean, I remember the way God

20:38

showed it to me one day. It was

20:40

back when we were in Desert Storm, and

20:42

I was trying to think how can I

20:44

teach this to a group of people. The Lord

gave me this picture of a guy

in a foxhole and he's over in

20:51

a desert storm and he's calling the

20:53

White House and he's saying, President, please

20:55

come, please come and help me get

20:57

out of this situation. I am surrounded

right now. And what would the President

say to him? You're there because I

21:04

put you there. I gave you all

21:06

the authority of America. The training, the

21:09

weapons, the best weapons in the world.

Shoot at him. And I think so

often we think... Okay, Jesus, please

come and help me in this

situation. When Jesus is gone, I

ascended the heaven to sit next

to the Father. I've given you

my name. His name through faith

in his name has made this

man whole. I've given you my

name. I've given you my name.

I've given you my name. I've

given you my authority. I've

given you my weapons for

the weapons of our warfare

and not fleshly, but mighty in

God. pull down strongholds to expose

everything to to you know make

known every high thing that would

exalt itself against people knowing God.

You know one of the things

I've found and our team is

just so powerful with praying in

them. We thank God. We don't say

Oh God, please, if you're in the

mood today, would you maybe see

the gospel go forth? We're like,

God, we thank you that every

obstacle from seeing a discipleship material

being distributed in a country, be

22:12

country, be country, seek. We thank

God because we don't know what

22:17

those routes need to look like,

but we know the God who

22:21

knows that. And so we start

thanking him. And I think there's

there's been this loss of thanking

God. And I mean, you and I were

raised that you thank God. You thank him.

You thank him that he already,

like, and I, again, I think

this is something we've talked about

before, but it's always something that

astounds me, that God actually answers

before we even ask. He says,

call upon me. And I will show

you great and mighty things. This is

before you even called, I would answer

you. So God has an answer before

we even have a question. God is

already waiting to give a answer before

we even have a prayer. But he

wants us to partner with him. And

partnering with him, part of that is

walking in our authority as children

of God. And understanding that we

can come into the throne room

and we can find everything that we

have need of. in the name of Jesus.

It is provided. So those parents saying

you that his eye is restored. You

praying over your knee. I totally forgot

single day and thanking God that there

was restoration whether it was an ACL

And I've heard the Holy Spirit

just happened last week or the

week before. There was just such

an attack, an oppression that came

against, I felt it in our

home, I was up early in

the morning, and I remember I

was coming into the throne of

God to worship him, right? I

said, Lord, it's just so heavy

in the house right now, and

he said, son, address it. And I

remember hearing that and I thought that's

Bible or how to fight with my

husband or how to fight with my

wife. But it isn't about my

righteousness. It's about my position

in... Christ. Absolutely. Yeah,

and so many times people they

don't know. I love what it

says in second Corinthians and in

first Peter. It talks about the

fact that we have this ability

to live in the finished work

of Jesus Christ. We have the

breastplate of righteous. We have the

armor of God that we have

the helmet of salvation. We talk

about people just live in the

helmet. They don't understand that they

have the gospel. They have everything

that they need to stand and to

fight. Lisa, I just, I look at

people today and, you know, they really struggle

with, they... guilt, condemnation, shame, and the Bible says

we are the righteousness of God. It's not based

on our lifestyle, it's not based on what we

do. Now don't get me wrong. The Bible says

submit to God and resist the devil and he'll

flee from you. Yeah and we're the righteousness of

God in Christ Jesus, not in ourselves. Yeah, so

if you've done something wrong confess it, but

then God says he buries it in the

sea of forgetfulness when you confess and repent,

which means repent and repent is I wouldn't

do this again if I wouldn't do this

again if I had a chance. But I

think where people really really get robbed of

their authority is they try basing everybody else's

experience on themselves. So in other words, like

your mother, your mother was healed of

cancer, she was given up to die,

but her friend told her so-and-so is

a beautiful Christian woman and she died

of cancer. Yeah, what makes you think that

you'll have a different story? And this is

a woman who's having lunch with this

woman, and this is the woman who

has disciplined her. She's a baby Christian.

And she comes back and says, the

word of God says, I'm here because

the doctor... gave her two years to

live. And that was the head of

the oncology department at MD Anderson. You

got two years left to live. She

comes back and says, I met a

couple, they shared the word of God with

me. Jesus took my sicknesses on the

cross, God heals my diseases. This is

amazing. I'm so excited I don't have

to die. This is the woman that has

been disciplining. Who do you think you

are? Which is shocking that somebody would

even say that. Why wouldn't she want

to agree with somebody that God could

heal them of cancer? Why would you?

Because that woman is basing her

faith off of other people's experiences.

Instead of off the word of God or

what the Holy Spirit had revealed to my

mother. So you have to realize... I think

more than half the times, I looked

at it one time in death, Jesus

looked at people and said, be it

done to you according to your faith.

I mean, here's a woman, he doesn't

even realize the power is going out

of him, but she said, she didn't

People are looking at the wrong

places and they need to recover

he's like, you people that are telling me

my mom actually came to that place where

she realized, wait a minute. This person, who

she loved and respected and had

been her mentor, wasn't the one

for something that she couldn't be

to her. She turned and was like,

stopped all the chemo and the cancer treatment

lived into her 80s and she was in

her middle eight 40s when she was diagnosed

with cancer so that's amazing yeah but

look at everybody has a lane and

if their story doesn't line up

leave it in their lane it's between

them and God right You don't have

to judge them. You don't have faith.

They don't have faith. They're weak in

faith. They don't understand their authority. You

But the question is, what are you

to bring somebody else's experience that doesn't

people that are basing their faith

that have suffered devastating loss, they

have authority to say that God

big mistakes. And we learned from those

mistakes. In other words, we just didn't

accept... defeat. We said, Lord, obviously this

to teach us something that we somehow

it's also to say... hey, I

recognize when I didn't understand the

authority that I have in Christ

recognize what to do if another

just believe in Jesus' name. The
