Kevin Volpp Dr. Kevin Volpp is a behavioural economist. He is the founding Director of the Center for Health Incentives and Behavioral Economics, and a Professor of Medicine and Medical Ethics and Policy at the University of Pennsylvania.Dr. Volpp’s work focuses on applying insights from behavioral economics to improve patient health behavior. He has done work with employers, insurers, health systems, and consumer companies to test the effectiveness of different behavioral economic strategies in addressing tobacco dependence, obesity, and medication non-adherence.Dr. Volpp’s work has appeared in journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of the American Medical Association, and Health Affairs, it and has been covered by media outlets such as the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Economist, Good Morning America, the BBC, National Public Radio, Der Spiegel, and Australian National Radio.Dr. Volpp received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from Harvard University, his M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine, and his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.
