Could a dating style app work for financial advisors and clients to meet?
The team at Couplr is about to find out.
I sat down with Derek N.H. Notman, CFP® and Meghaan Lurtz to learn about their new fintech tool Couplr.
To help wrap our minds around the concept, Derek describes Couplr as the combination of eHarmony and Bumble. 🐣
A community of advisors sponsor a Couplr instance where their advisors are listed. A community of advisors could be a broker dealer, RIA, or industry association.
According to Meghaan, humans have trouble remembering more than 7 items at a time. Couplr could be a fit for any organization that has more than 7 advisors.
Clients who are familiar with an organization use Couplr to help find the ideal financial advisor for them. Instead of wading through multiple advisors, Couplr helps narrow down a small list of ideal advisors for the specific client.
When the client is ready, they can reach out to engage the advisor.
The team also touches on “the transtheoretical model of health behavior change.” Simply, humans progress through six stages of change: precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, maintenance, and termination. With Couplr we will be able to peer into those various stages to better understand how people advance through each stage when considering working with an advisor.
What do you think?
Would you use a tool like Couplr to find your next financial advisor?
