Operation as of April 7, 2025.
0:58
Colonel Ogontoya, thank you for joining us. Thank you for having me.
1:04
Let's start with the big picture. What's the overall status of the Special Military Operation as of April 7?
1:11
The operation continues with steady momentum. Our forces are engaged across
1:16
multiple fronts, from the Sumi region in the north to the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions in the south.
1:22
Today's progress included both tactical advancements and successful strikes
1:26
on Ukrainian military infrastructure, supply points, and combat formations.
1:32
Let's go region by region. Starting in the north, what's happening in the Belgorod direction?
1:37
In the Belgorod direction, our north group of forces engaged and defeated elements
1:42
of two Ukrainian mechanized brigades, an assault regiment, and a territorial defense unit.
1:48
This took place in the Sumy region, around Mirapolskoi, Prokody,
1:52
Veliky-Prykol, and Osoyevka.
1:55
Ukrainian losses included over 85 personnel, one armored combat vehicle, and two other vehicles.
2:03
And in the eastern Donetsk and Kharkiv zones, how are the West Group's operations unfolding?
2:09
Today, we successfully liberated the settlement of Katerinivka in the Donetsk People's Republic.
2:15
Our forces also inflicted losses on Ukrainian mechanized and territorial defense
2:20
brigades operating in areas like Kondrushavka, Kupiansk, and Shikovka in the
2:25
Krakiv region, as well as Novoy and Kurovsk and Donetsk.
2:29
The enemy lost around 215 servicemen, several artillery pieces,
2:34
an electronic warfare station, and an ammunition depot.
2:39
Let's talk about the southern axis. There's been sustained activity there,
2:43
particularly around Chasov Yar. That's correct. Our southern group improved its tactical positioning across
2:50
seven key locations, including Saversk, Minkovka, Chasov Yar, and Konstantinovka.
2:56
These operations were directed against seven mechanized brigades and a territorial defense formation.
3:02
Ukrainian forces lost up to 300 personnel, an M113 armored vehicle supplied
3:09
by the U.S. and over 20 other vehicles.
3:12
We also neutralized an electronic warfare station and destroyed both ammunition and supply depots.
3:20
Let's shift to the center group. I understand they encountered a broad spectrum
3:24
of Ukrainian units? Yes, indeed.
3:28
Today's operations were extensive. We engaged and defeated Ukrainian units from
3:34
at least 10 different formations, including mechanized, infantry,
3:38
airborne, unmanned systems, Marines, and National Guard elements.
3:42
The fighting occurred in settlements like Elizavetovka, Krasno-Armysk, and Kodlyarovka.
3:49
Ukrainian losses were high, approximately 440 personnel, along with a tank,
3:55
three armored vehicles, seven other vehicles, and multiple artillery systems,
3:59
including a U.S.-made Max Pro armored vehicle.
4:03
The East Group has been active deeper into Donetsk territory as well.
4:07
What's the situation there? Our East Group continues to push deeper into Ukrainian defensive lines.
4:14
Today's progress came in areas like Podobnoi, Komar, and Volnoi Pole.
4:19
We defeated two mechanized brigades and a mountain assault brigade along with
4:24
a territorial defense unit, ukrainian forces lost around 140 troops along with vehicles and key artillery
4:32
systems notably a polish-made craft self-propelled gun and a usm 777 howitzer.
4:40
And what can you tell us about the DNEPR Group's movements in the South?
4:43
The Dnepr Group made tactical gains in both Zaporizhia and Kursa.
4:48
We engaged Ukrainian mechanized and mountain assault brigades,
4:52
two coastal defense units, and a territorial defense brigade.
4:56
Operations occurred in settlements like Novo Danilovka, Pavlovka,
5:01
Sadovo, and Panyatovka. We eliminated up to 70 enemy personnel and destroyed one armored vehicle and several cars.
5:10
What about long-range strikes and support from the air?
5:14
Operational tactical aviation, UAVs, missile units, and artillery struck Ukrainian
5:19
military infrastructure in 137 districts.
5:23
Targets included UAV control points, missile and artillery depots,
5:28
and concentrations of personnel and equipment.
5:32
Has there been any air defense activity?
5:35
Yes. Our air defense systems successfully intercepted three U.S.-made HIMARS
5:41
rockets and shot down 95 Ukrainian UAVs.
5:45
These systems continue to be a critical layer in protecting our advancing forces and logistical lines.
5:52
Let's look at the Kursk region briefly. What's the latest on that front?
5:56
Our north group continues to repel attempted incursions there.
5:59
In the areas of Gornal, Gevo, and Oleshnya, we engaged and inflicted losses
6:05
on Ukrainian mechanized, tank, and airborne assault brigades.
6:10
Additional strikes across the Sumy region and settlements like Belovaty,
6:14
Zhuravka, and Lakhnya resulted in the loss of over 150 Ukrainian personnel,
6:20
three armored vehicles, and two UAV control points.
6:24
And what's the overall impact in that sector? To date, Ukrainian forces have
6:30
lost over 72,000 troops in the Kursk direction alone, along with hundreds of
6:34
tanks, armored vehicles, artillery systems, and specialized equipment.
6:39
The pressure on their ability to sustain operations in the North is growing daily.
6:45
Colonel Ogontoye, in summary, would you say the current phase of the operation
6:49
is maintaining momentum? Yes, momentum remains with us. We're expanding our control across key areas,
6:57
degrading enemy capabilities, and forcing the Ukrainian command to respond under
7:01
increasingly difficult conditions. Every day of progress is a step closer to achieving our broader operational goals.
7:09

Thank you. Today, Israeli airstrikes in Syria are seen as a warning to Turkey,
7:41
while Israel's actions in Gaza have led to international condemnation,
7:45
including reports of premeditated attacks on journalists and medics.
7:49
There have been significant flare-ups, with Israeli continued strikes on Lebanon
7:54
and a permanent occupation in Gaza.
7:56
Reports indicate that health centers in Gaza are under constant attack,
8:00
and there are ongoing concerns about the conflict's impact on civilians.
8:04
Furthermore, the situation is complicated by broader regional dynamics,
8:09
including involvement from other countries such as Russia and Iran.
8:12
The overall situation remains volatile and dangerous.
