airmobile, and assault brigades around Senkovo, Proletarskoy,
0:33
Vyshoy Solnoy, Novy Mir, Kupyansk, Kupyanskoslova, and Kirovsk.
0:39
Ukrainian forces suffered up to 235 casualties, with significant material losses

Welcome to Frontline Updates, the podcast that brings you in-depth insights
0:58
into military operations from those leading them on the ground.
1:02
Today, we're joined by Colonel A.C. Ogentoy, an infantry officer monitoring
1:07
critical missions on the progress of the special military operation as of today.
1:12
Colonel Ogentoy, thank you for being with us.
1:16
Thank you. Always an honor to provide clarity on the current situation.
1:22
Let's begin with the overall picture. How would you summarize the progress made
1:27
across the different sectors of the front over the past several days?
1:31
Broadly speaking, the Russian Armed Forces have maintained and extended operational
1:36
momentum across multiple axes. In the north, west, south, center, east, and Dnepr directions,
1:43
our formations systematically engaged and degraded enemy forces.
1:47
We focused on dislocating Ukrainian operational reserves, damaging critical
1:52
logistical nodes, and neutralizing command centers.
1:55
What we're seeing is a progressive erosion of the Ukrainian armed forces' ability
1:59
to sustain coordinated defense. Our forces didn't merely repel Ukrainian attacks, we seized more advantageous
2:07
tactical positions, improved our depth of defense, and inflicted heavy personnel and equipment losses.
2:13
This combination of attritional and positional warfare is steadily shifting
2:18
the operational balance in our favor. Let's dive into specifics. How did operations unfold in the northern sector,
2:26
particularly around Sumi? In the north specifically in the belgorod direction our
2:32
north group conducted deliberate attacks targeting concentrations of
2:36
ukrainian mechanized tank and airborne forces around key settlements like zapsoli
2:41
unikovka proletarskoi novodmetrovka and saki the operations there emphasized
2:47
attrition over terrain seizure neutralizing approximately 75 enemy servicemen
2:52
destroying armored vehicles, artillery pieces, and a major fuel depot.
2:58
From an operational perspective, this undermines the Ukrainian capacity to stage
3:02
immediate counterattacks or sustained forces in the Sumi region.
3:06
Fuel logistics, in particular, are critical. By eliminating a depot,
3:11
we exponentially increase their supply chain difficulties.
3:16
Turning to the western axis, there were reports of significant developments
3:20
near Kupyansk. Can you elaborate? Yes. In the Western sector, our West Group executed a calculated advance along
3:29
the front, pushing deeper near settlements like Senkovo, Kupansk, and Kupanskoslova.
3:34
The primary objective was to fracture Ukrainian defensive cohesion by targeting
3:39
mechanized, airmobile, and assault brigades.
3:43
Enemy casualties were substantial, over 230 personnel, and we neutralized critical assets like a U.S.
3:50
Supplied and slash tpq-50 counterbattery radar and
3:53
multiple ammunition depots these actions degrade Ukraine's ability to coordinate
3:58
artillery responses which is pivotal because artillery remains their primary
4:02
method for halting Russian advances strategically consolidating gains and coupants
4:08
could open operational avenues deeper into Kharkov Oblast.
4:13
There's also movement in the southern sector. How would you assess the impact there?
4:18
The southern front, particularly around Donetsk, remains highly dynamic.
4:23
Our southern group successfully occupied more favorable lines and struck Ukrainian
4:28
mechanized brigades and special forces elements around key settlements including
4:32
Konstantinovka and Alexei Vodraschkovka.
4:36
Enemy casualties exceeded 250 alongside the destruction of tanks,
4:40
armored vehicles, and an important electronic warfare station.
4:45
The latter is key. Neutralizing enemy electronic warfare capabilities significantly
4:50
weakens their ability to coordinate drone operations and counter our own UAV reconnaissance.
4:56
The southern sector is where the cumulative weight of attrition is beginning
4:59
to visibly unbalance Ukrainian operational coherence.
5:04
We've heard about advances by the center and east groups as well.
5:08
How would you characterize their operations?
5:11
Both the center and East groups were highly active
5:14
the center group improved tactical positioning
5:17
across multiple key points merely aboveka Bogdanovka and you Dagnoy among them
5:22
eliminating over 425 Ukrainian troops armored vehicles and artillery units these
5:29
actions aren't just about casualty counts they create breaks in the Ukrainian
5:33
defensive lattice that can be exploited in future operations.
5:38
And the East Group of Forces? Meanwhile, in the east, our units pushed deeper into the enemy's defense,
5:46
especially around Outradnoy and Valnoy-Pol.
5:49
We engaged mechanized, airmobile, and marine brigades, inflicting 140 casualties.
5:57
More importantly, two enemy electronic warfare stations were destroyed,
6:01
further tipping the electronic battlefield in our favor.
6:04
These incremental but deliberate penetrations sap enemy reserves and sapped
6:09
their will to hold forward positions. Can you touch on the DNEPR Group's activities along the Zaporizhia and Kherson sectors?
6:19
In the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, the Dnepr Group successfully engaged
6:23
coastal defense and territorial brigades, notably around Novopovlovka and Kazatsko.
6:29
The enemy lost up to 70 personnel along with armored assets.
6:33
What's critical here is not just the attrition but the preservation of operational initiative.
6:39
By neutralizing enemy forces in these areas, we maintain pressure and limit
6:44
the Ukrainian ability to project power back across the Dnipro River.
6:49
Beyond ground operations, what can you tell us about strategic strikes and air defense activities?
6:55
Operational tactical aviation drones missile
6:59
forces and artillery conducted 168 targeted strikes against Ukrainian military
7:04
infrastructure including airfields himars rocket storage sites and UAV workshops
7:10
these strikes are intended to weaken not only frontline units but also strategic
7:15
rear areas that sustain them. And air defense? On the defensive side, our air defense systems performed robustly,
7:26
intercepting a JDAM-guided bomb, HIMARS rockets,
7:30
S-200-converted missiles used against ground targets, and 124 UAVs.
7:36
This layered air defense significantly reduces the effectiveness of Ukrainian
7:40
standoff attacks, allowing us greater freedom of maneuver across the front.
7:46
Finally, from a broader perspective, how would you characterize cumulative Ukrainian losses so far?
7:52
The cumulative losses since the beginning of the Special Military Operation are staggering.
7:57
Aircraft, helicopters, over 53,000 UAVs, air defense systems,
8:03
23,000 armored vehicles, and close to 25,000 artillery pieces and mortars, among others.
8:10
These losses are not just statistics, they reflect the strategic exhaustion
8:14
of Ukraine's military potential. Every vehicle, every artillery tube lost, narrows their options and compels
8:21
difficult operational choices. Colonel, thank you for providing such a detailed briefing on the current military situation.
