And in five four. By the way, before I get started, I know Jonathan, you're used to it, and

0:15

I think I mentioned this to you before, but like in the podcast, what I say.

0:17

And what do you think, Jonathan? What do you think? And all that's edited out is just so that we don't talk over each other

0:22

when I do that. Yeah. Oh, good. It's all edited out.

0:24

I'm so sorry if I talk over you guys, too.

0:27

I know, and please do like me and Tom for John.

0:29

Except that we always just talk over each other more so me over him.

0:32

And it's just the vibe now over there.

0:34

But for this one, ever since, because we used to record a person

0:37

and then we transitioned during the pandemic, obviously.

0:40

And if for some reason it's just hard for us to really just naturally talk

0:43

sometimes, especially when we're so anyway, so

0:48

if I could I don't mean to be bossy is I'm not at all to.

0:51

Do anything like that. Yeah. Is it my right?

0:54

Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So. Yeah. Sorry.

0:56

Sorry if I do that. No, you are absolutely no problem at all.

0:59

I just, I just feel bad that when people come in and they're like,

1:03

oh, I can't talk because I didn't give you permission. That's not the case.

1:06

Please talk if you know you're ready to I.

1:08

Oh, good. Thank you.

1:11

All right. Three. Two.

1:14

One. Hey, welcome to Geek Freaks.

1:16

I am Frank, and I'm joined by Aaron.

1:18

Hello, everybody. And we have Jonathan.

1:21

What's going on. Today, guys? We're still in holiday break.

1:26

I know, you guys. It's January 3rd for us. It ain't.

1:29

So, we're going to be real chill. We're going to be talking about what we're most excited for out of 2025.

1:33

Should be short. Should be easy. It's just a hype fest around here.

1:37

And that's what we're all about. We're going to be going over our most anticipated movies,

1:42

TV shows and video games.

1:44

And I think let's start with TV shows first.

1:47

And Jonathan, we'll start with you first. What is one of your most anticipated shows and why?

1:52

So this is the longest list I made. To just pick a couple.

1:57

So I'll just start with Star Trek because I always, like, talk about Star Trek.

2:00

We know they're working on Starfleet Academy. We don't know if that's going to come out 2025 or 2026,

2:06

but we keep getting cast updates and stuff like that,

2:08

but we're not sure when it's coming out, so I can't count on that.

2:10

But we do know Strange New World season three should be coming out 2025.

2:15

So looking forward to that. And Star Trek Section 31 I believe is also coming out next year.

2:20

That haven't be though. But yeah. Oh, yeah.

2:22

Oh dang wrong. Last year it was a shit TV show.

2:24

They converted it over to a movie. That's right.

2:26

I forgot about that. Yeah.

2:28

Always excited to hear about, more Star Trek.

2:31

That's a that's. Me too. And, and, so for the Academy, I think it's going to be coming out in 2025.

2:37

So yeah. Well, I just looked it up. I was trying to figure out, like, do they have an estimated date

2:40

and even on line, I'm saying 2025 or 2026 still.

2:44

So I, maybe it's not.

2:47

I will start knocking on doors at Paramount. Okay, guys, get your shit together. Shit.

2:50

Yeah, yeah. And. Aaron, what is what is one of your most anticipated shows?

2:55

Okay, so one of my most, I have a few as well, hun.

2:58

Same as, Jonathan here. So. Yeah.

3:01

Well, we're good, I think. For me, I'll try. Name one that maybe you guys won't.

3:05

So the one that I'm probably the most anticipating

3:08

is the bear season for obviously a very, highly awarded show.

3:13

This is some TV that it was recommended to me by a friend whose name is lullaby,

3:18

who appeared on the Fender Porter's podcast, and I watched it,

3:21

and my goodness, that is a show that really just draws you in.

3:25

And, you know, there's a particular episode in season three that really showed me

3:30

the kind of artist nature of the show, and it's the Christmas dinner episode.

3:34

If you guys are familiar with that. Have you guys watch today?

3:36

No. Oh, yeah. And it's. Said. May Jamie Lee Curtis in that, episode alone.

3:42

And then obviously, you know,

3:44

John John Bernthal as well, he just plays an amazing role in, in the beer.

3:49

And it's just just captivating to me. I literally sat there watching it in the comfort of my lounge room,

3:53

in the safest place that I have in my house. And I was having like an anxiety attack

3:57

because I was watching them in the show, having this dysfunctional family dinner.

4:01

And it's just like that kind of captivating writing and the music

4:04

and the tension. And just like the notes that they sort of hit as they're

4:07

they're going back and forth, and even like the sound effects, like the,

4:11

the cooking sound effects that they have on repeat, it's just like in that background, that subtlety.

4:15

And it's just so well crafted.

4:17

All of the actors in there give 100%, and I just can't wait for the fourth

4:21

season of The Bear that brought out four seasons in four years.

4:25

And, you know, that's really unheard of for TV shows this year.

4:27

I'm really glad that they they're doing that.

4:29

Really hope that a lot of the cast members do come back.

4:32

I know that Yvonne is, otherwise tied up with his,

4:36

Fantastic Four commitments, so I don't know how that's going to go, but

4:39

I hope he does come back, because Richie's definitely a great part of the show.

4:43

But Jeremy Alan White will be back, and we'll see his,

4:46

tattooed arms in all their glory, chopping up potatoes and,

4:49

He's going to be in Star Wars now, so who knows if that.

4:53

Yeah. Whether it's a voice, you know, is it a going to be a motion capture and, like,

4:57

that'd be the easiest job ever. Pretending to be a slug?

5:00

Yeah, like. That show, though.

5:02

It's amazing how much I'm watching it. I just, like anxiety inducing.

5:06

Yes, chef. No, chef. Oh my God.

5:08

Yeah. And in that particular episode, when the car comes through the house

5:12

I don't know about for you. Yeah. For me, when the car comes into the house, you're almost like, oh, it's over,

5:16

thank God. Like, it was almost like a relief moment. Yep.

5:20

And you literally like, wait a minute.

5:22

A car came through it. Yeah. It's just like that. That shocked me.

5:26

And it was just so good. And the moment that Jon Bernthal threw that fork, I was like, is out?

5:32

Yeah. Oh, yeah. It's such a good TV.

5:35

And I don't know what it is, but like, watching and like, a dysfunctional family

5:38

just to lose itself on television right in front of you is just.

5:41

It's a guilty pleasure. So the Bay, that's my, probably most anticipated, but I've got more. So.

5:46

But I'll hand it over to somebody else. Yeah. Succession two.

5:49

If you guys like that dysfunctional family start to slowly fall apart in succession, of course. Is that. But everybody's.

5:53

Watching. So. Yeah.

5:55

All right. I will add one in, a Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

5:59

If you guys like House the Dragon, but you're like a little too many dragons.

6:03

Boom! You got that? It's Seven Kingdoms.

6:05

It's Game of Thrones and A Knight's Tale, which I know right now.

6:09

I'm just talking right to Aaron. Really?

6:12

The first part is straight up A Knight's Tale, and it's a knight who's pretending to be somebody else, and he takes on a squire.

6:18

He doesn't know. The squire is sort of the king. And then it just keeps going beyond that wonderful story.

6:23

It's far more grounded than what we've been getting from the Game of Thrones spin off.

6:27

So I think the hit that it has, the Dragon are going to juxtapose

6:30

and show kind of the wide breadth of, fantasy storytelling and what George R.R.

6:35

Martin brings to the table if he ever finishes the damn book.

6:39

How's the dragon? Er, I'm sorry, 1917.

6:41

I'm very excited to share that with you guys. Later on, we will be covering for a lot of these shows.

6:45

We'll be covering every episode over on George Excepted and the finale and intro.

6:49

On Geek Freaks.

6:51

Jonathan, let's head back to you, man. Yeah. If I'm right, I'm guessing some of these are coming out next year.

6:56

Now I'm thinking about it. Like they might be later.

6:59

But Lantern's right. The new Green Lantern series. It is definitely not next year.

7:03

Yeah, man.

7:05

Why do they gotta. Do that to us? It takes time.

7:08

Well. Like we've heard about it a long time ago.

7:10

Okay. Welcome to Derry.

7:12

That's coming out, actually. Right. Next year. Yeah. Okay. Okay.

7:15

Based on Stephen King's it, it's more.

7:18

It's a series, in that world, in the in the town of Derry,

7:22

I guess, where it was, just matching up children's stuff.

7:25

I, so that'll be cool. That'll be good.

7:28

And then we're seeing Justice Kagan will be the. Last six years before the main storyline.

7:31

So it's basically the generation before them. How he comes back every 26 years.

7:35

Yeah. So yeah, that's another. Batch of things. I wonder though, are we going to follow a batch of kids,

7:39

or is it just going to be like, well, yeah, I guess we have to we have to follow a set group of people.

7:44

But yeah, it'll be interesting.

7:47

I don't know, I. Need to read that book.

7:50

I know that the ending's very depressing compared to the movies,

7:52

but I need to see that because, I love everything Stephen King.

7:57

He just keeps nailing it.

7:59

Yeah. Aaron, let's go to you.

8:02

Okay, let me take you to a nostalgic place,

8:06

where everybody loves to run up those hills.

8:08

And Dungeons and Dragons made a resurgence. The Stranger Things season five.

8:12

Yeah, I know we're going back to Hawkins.

8:14

People with the kids that we all, you know, love to watch in there.

8:18

And like, bicycles running through this 80s vibe show.

8:20

Season five of Stranger Things is something that I'm looking forward to seeing David Harbor return.

8:24

It is the last season, so I'm looking forward to seeing how that ends.

8:28

After the, they open up Hawkins

8:31

and and obviously, had to deal with Vecna.

8:35

All the kids are older now, and they're definitely, you know,

8:38

making their way in life and seeing how they all, all of their chapters close.

8:42

After watching these kids literally grow up in front of our very eyes, is something that I'm pretty excited for.

8:46

Stranger Things season five second on my list.

8:49

Let's go. I forgot to that in what, an end of an era, right?

8:53

And your time with the bear. How that is so unique that they do a season per year?

8:58

Boy, Stranger Things is the opposite of that. It feels like it takes forever.

9:01

Yeah, I. Mean, they also had to accommodate that for the fact that the kids were aging,

9:05

didn't they? So every single story that they did, they had to make sure it was like aging up

9:09

as the kids were growing. And, yeah, I think that's part of the reason

9:13

why they're bringing it to a close. Just because, you know, those kids are aging out

9:17

and they're starting to become, adults and then doing other things with their careers.

9:21

But, I also think that, like, Stranger Things is one of the first,

9:26

or at least in Australia anyway, because Netflix came at a lot later in Australia than it did for for the US.

9:31

But one of the first drawing cards that everybody wanted to get Netflix

9:35

for was Stranger Things. So it's kind of like end of an era in that way for us here.

9:38

Then in Australia as well. So, season five is going to be just real.

9:43

It's going to be bittersweet because, you know, it's going to be a much anticipated conclusion.

9:47

But then it's going to be a conclusion and a goodbye. So and we all know that when there's a goodbye on the cards,

9:53

like which character is going to get to bite the dust, we don't know.

9:56

It's going to have like, it's I'd put money on it, somebody's going to go.

10:00

He's going to be like, it's going to be a hooper, because that's the one that's going to hit me the hardest.

10:05

I know. Coming up as.

10:07

I reckon it'll be 11. That's my pick.

10:09

Yeah. That's true. She's pretty powerful to keep existing.

10:12

As a dad, official. Not a more so than you and I and Jonathan.

10:16

Did you guys feel did you feel the impact

10:20

that Stranger Things had on dad as, like, a resurgence around you?

10:25

Well, at the time, at the time that that was actually coming through,

10:27

I already had a dad podcast going, so I definitely saw, like, a bump in,

10:33

increase in enthusiasm for people

10:35

wondering what we were doing, in that space, which was good.

10:38

We had more engagement on social media through that. And, you know, just around my friendship group, people that sort of watched it

10:43

and just like my friends that were outside of the dance space,

10:46

they knew that I played and they'd never really been interested.

10:49

But then, you know, you get those questions like, so

10:52

you played indie, right? And you was like, I know what this means. Yeah.

10:55

You want me to run you a game? So yeah, I would say yes, it definitely did.

10:59

And, you know, they brought out a lot of the Stranger Things themed packs,

11:02

which sort of was entry level for a lot of people.

11:05

I tried that as well. And then, yeah,

11:07

it was it's just like a gateway drug straight into Dungeons and Dragons in a more accessible way.

11:12

And and it's so the themes in it as well.

11:16

Like I tell my partners, we were watching it,

11:18

I was just like, that's indeed a, that's indeed a, that's an indie thing.

11:21

It's just like, so good to pick out those Easter eggs.

11:23

And I found it the same when I was watching the Dungeons and Dragons movie the other night, too.

11:27

I was just like naming the spells and doing all that kind of thing.

11:30

But even like the Underdark and the the,

11:33

the Demogorgon, all of that stuff is just so dandy.

11:36

And it was it was good to see it come back and have it set in that sort of time

11:39

period, really sort of nestled it where it needed to be in that time space.

11:43

I liked it, it was good. I never thought about the Underdark and like the Upside Down

11:48

and, like, those two can be quite mere mirrors of each other.

11:53

The Underdark, Jonathan's campaign, the campaign that I'm running for him,

11:57

they haven't explored or you have given Jonathan hint right now.

12:00

They haven't explored it yet, but there's been hints that, like,

12:03

where did this where did this draw come from that owns this manor?

12:06

So there's there's the underdog. Here's a hint, Jonathan.

12:09

He probably came from the Underdark.

12:12

Good, good. Yeah. You follow the threads.

12:15

You go that very expensive paint set that they couldn't afford.

12:18

Must have stolen from somebody.

12:20

Yeah. There's so many. I, I was doing a job that was like, I just want to,

12:25

like, scream all the stories that they just walk right past

12:29

that I invested so much. If you guys go this way, that's okay. Go.

12:32

That would do it right? That's right. You just.

12:34

You just move the stuff that's on the map straight into the path of the player.

12:38

Right now, they're they're fighting to secure a foothold in hell.

12:42

And, but, yeah, I'm going to be pulling in some stuff

12:45

like I saw John do, like, oh, these are funny.

12:48

You guys fighting these like, clockwork guys over here because I printed them up

12:50

and stuff, but, like, they happen to also be protecting

12:53

this bank, too, just in case you guys went that way. And they did.

12:55

So that worked out quite well for me.

12:58

Yeah. It's good. That's good.

13:00

Okay. So, another show that I'm looking forward to.

13:02

Let's let's return to Marvel.

13:05

We have Daredevil born again.

13:07

This is Marvel embracing their Netflix shows.

13:09

It's also them, really embracing the showrunner that we saw

13:12

Kevin Feige step in and retool the show

13:16

and kind of make it more in line with the future of Marvel.

13:19

I am excited to see how that looks so far, what we've gotten out of it,

13:22

it looks like even kingpin is more accurate. Stuff like that.

13:25

Not that the Netflix show wasn't excellent, but they're even making

13:28

even more comic book accurate than that. So I am fully on board with that Daredevil born again for me.

13:34

Are they bringing back, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher for that one? Yes.

13:38

Yeah, he's come back. Good. Yeah. One. Yeah. Awesome.

13:40

We don't have a legend like that, but we do have, Punisher.

13:44

And I think that's it. And there's talks that, not Iron Fist,

13:48

but, other the costar Iron Fist might be coming back to you.

13:52

So, let's try to do.

13:54

If you guys have one more show, we'll go.

13:56

We'll probably stop at that. You have another show. Let's go with that. On that.

13:59

I only got one more because like, almost everything you guys mentioned has been on my list, too.

14:03

But The Last of Us season two, we should have, I think, in the spring.

14:07

Coming out. So. And it's supposed to be a five year time jump, so it'll be,

14:11

you know, interesting to see.

14:13

And for those who like the game and are like, no, but I don't want

14:16

they are splitting that second game into two parts.

14:20

So it'll only be the first half of the game. And they're even stretching one of the main twists out to the second half.

14:25

So, yeah, The Last of Us.

14:28

I know it's going to be a big year for everybody, especially with that Walking Dead withdrawal.

14:31

A lot of people are kind of like, you know, Walking Dead Dead's

14:33

got a lot of spin offs, sure, but not a people watching them.

14:36

They're going to The Last of Us. That's good. Yeah. And what about you?

14:40

Last one for me and or season two.

14:42

Probably one of the best things to come out of Star Wars in recent years.

14:47

It's like the shining jewel, basically in the 20th century of Star Wars.

14:52

And, you know, the last season took place over one year.

14:55

This one takes place over four years.

14:57

And, it leads right up until the end of Rogue One.

15:00

And it's going to be interesting to see, how all those events sort of culminate

15:05

and take place and also how they handle the time jumps,

15:07

because I know that the episode count is actually quite small as well.

15:11

I think it's like 8 to 10 episodes, and they're doing a full year.

15:14

Like, like those eight episodes happen in four years.

15:17

It's going to be interesting to say. I think it's two episodes, two episodes, two episodes, two episodes.

15:22

So that should be like two hours in each time period.

15:24

It's going to be interesting to see how they sort of space that out.

15:26

And if it's successful, I hope it is, because when I've watched shows

15:29

that have time jumps before it's hit and miss, all the time,

15:32

but I trust the people that do and or that do some great stuff over there

15:35

with the show running. So I hope it's good.

15:39

I was itching to to watch, Rogue One again.

15:42

I was like, no, no, no way. Treat yourself to like right after Andor, go right into Rogue One.

15:46

That's the way you do that. That's going to be good. Yeah.

15:49

I have a real tough one of these last two, but I'm going to go.

15:53

God, I'm gonna have to go with White Lotus.

15:55

I'm looking for the White Lotus season three.

15:57

Walton. Walton Goggins is going to be on the season.

16:02

Talk about a show that is just so masterfully shot.

16:05

Has one of the best scores in TV right now.

16:08

It's iconically, White Lotus, but they also

16:11

kind of tweak it for each, new environment, new place they're at.

16:14

And we've already heard the one for this one, and it has,

16:16

you know, the like, Thailand themes in the background of it and stuff like that looks fantastic.

16:20

They're bringing back some of the characters from season one.

16:22

And anytime Goggins is on anything, I'm tuning in.

16:26

They're bringing in, gosh, I can't remember her name, but she's

16:29

the evil one from Lost in Space, and I just hate her in all the right ways.

16:33

Like, you love to hate her. So the fact that they're bringing her here,

16:36

and she's going to be that wacky one, I'm like, oh, good.

16:39

I could hate her again. So, White Lotus, written by Mike

16:44

white, one of one of the most creative people in Hollywood right now.

16:47

That's gonna be really good. I'm looking forward to that, too.

16:50

That is our TV shows. Let's get into the movies.

16:53

And, I'll be starting us off for the movies.

16:55

And I'm going to go with Fantastic Four.

16:58

This is, again, one of the pillars of Marvel Comics being brought into the MCU.

17:03

They're using this retro futuristic vibe.

17:06

It's 60s, but today, and the casting for this has been a delight.

17:11

We've been getting, you know, Pedro Pascal.

17:13

We'll talk about The Last of Us. He's going to be Mr. Fantastic.

17:15

That's perfect. And it's just a good casting all around.

17:18

I'm I'm really hyped for what this is going to mean for Marvel.

17:23

I the only thing that concerns me is how they're going to land the Doctor Doom role of it all.

17:28

But I have faith that they're going to

17:31

they're probably going to lean into Secret wars being, pretty important.

17:34

But this is it. This is kind of the final moments of the endgame for this era

17:39

where we're going to go this doomsday into secret wars.

17:43

So I'm very excited for Fantastic Four. Let's go to Aaron next for the movie.

17:50

Okay. So first of all, I don't know if this one comes in 2025.

17:53

So correct me if I'm wrong, Frank, but does the live action How to Train Your Dragon come on in 22?

17:58

It does. Yes. Okay, well, that is my pick. That is my pick.

18:01

I loved those cartoon movies.

18:03

Full of heart, full of emotion.

18:06

The fact that they've got Gerard Butler back to play stoic is absolutely amazing.

18:11

You know, the side by side scene for scene of hiccup meeting

18:14

toothless in the trailer? Absolutely captivating the way they've animated toothless as well

18:20

is just really awesome. And I know they say

18:22

live action, even though toothless is still technically pretty well animated.

18:26

It's just more realistic. But I'm very excited for it because it's just I'm

18:32

hoping that they'll do the whole trilogy because I love dragons

18:36

and, just loving seeing more of them on my telly.

18:39

So it's probably one that, I could

18:43

eventually watch with, with the kids as well, having them grow up and then

18:46

see How to Train Your dragon animated and then see the, the live action.

18:51

And yeah, Kane for it. That's my my pick for the movie.

18:55

One of the things I talked about on charmed, etc., and I'm excited for them

18:58

to reintroduce to a new generation is the ableism

19:01

aspect of How to Train Your Dragon. We kind of often forget about that, but it's, you know,

19:05

hiccup is missing a leg, toothless is missing part of his tail.

19:08

And, about how they kind of transcend beyond what they would

19:12

presumably be the end of their future plans.

19:15

And so I think that's something that's really cool to echo

19:17

nowadays more than ever. And might have been forgotten by the latest generation.

19:21

It does look super good, though, and I'm always brought back to the sound design.

19:26

And how did you do your Dragon? Because it's the most unique fire ability from a dragon we've ever heard

19:31

in, a toothless that almost, like, charge up and then like,

19:35

it's just such a cool thing. Like a supersonic. Beam, is it? Right? It's amazing. So cool.

19:40

I can't wait to see it in live action. And, Jordan, what's your movie?

19:44

I'm looking forward to the new Superman. We talked about it when we did our geeks, last episode,

19:49

you know, James Gunn and all that stuff, but it looks amazing.

19:52

It comes out, I think, in July 2025.

19:55

It's going to be one of those big summer movies.

19:58

Yeah. I mean, Superman's awesome will be great.

20:01

We're going to be broke. We're going to be so many theater trips, right?

20:04

All the popcorn. Yeah.

20:06

This is the year to get one of those movie passes or, you know, like I had Movie Pass this past year,

20:11

but I think maybe I'll do a subscription to a specific theater, this next year and see how that goes.

20:16

But, I mean, I mean, this past year to we didn't have that many big,

20:19

you know, blockbuster movies coming out, but this upcoming year

20:22

looks like we got a lot more. So, that'll be good.

20:25

I think your cat's excited about it, too. Yeah. If you guys want to.

20:28

Yeah, yeah. She wants to be on the pad, too. Yeah.

20:31

All right. So, I think I did. Did I do mine?

20:34

Yeah, I did, All right, let's go back to Aaron, then.

20:37

Aaron. Why don't you give us another one? Okay.

20:40

So I've got two.

20:43

Yeah, I've got more than two. But which one should I go with first?

20:46

I'm going to go with Stargate. I recently found out that there was a Stargate movie

20:50

coming out in 2025, and I was definitely a Stargate kid.

20:54

I was telling the guys just before we went live that, first up was a paper

20:58

run, and I did the paper run for the entire week purely to buy.

21:03

The newsagents had these magazines that had DVDs attached to them,

21:06

and that was three episodes per DVD. And I spent the whole week delivering papers to my neighborhood just so I could

21:11

earn enough money to buy that DVD and watch three episodes of Stargate.

21:15

My brothers loved it, too, because I did all the work and I got to watch the Stargate.

21:18

So yeah. Shout out to those guys. Thanks, but

21:22

but no, Stargate was definitely something that I loved from childhood.

21:25

The team of four, the the gateway to other worlds.

21:28

The alien races just took you away. It's that escapism.

21:31

We've always been talking about here on on Geek Freaks, and it's just that, that sort of happy place for me.

21:36

And you know what? It was something that my mum introduced me to as well.

21:39

And, she, she really enjoyed it

21:42

when, when we watched it all as a family too.

21:45

So, and I also I kind of watched it when I was like

21:49

12 or 13, so it kind of felt like it was a little bit older than what

21:52

I was supposed to be watching. So I felt really grown up when I was watching it.

21:55

So it's got that nostalgia. But for me, and I'm interested to see the way that they take it,

21:58

whether they're going to go with Jack O'Neil, Daniel Jackson, the original

22:01

SG one team, or are they going to try something new?

22:05

Because there was an original Stargate movie that came out obviously

22:08

before the show, starring Spider James Spader, I believe, and Kurt Russell.

22:14

Yeah. Yes. He needs to come back to,

22:16

But but yeah, I, I'm wondering if they're going to take it in that direction

22:20

or whether they're going to do something new. And again, if it's going to spare off a new Stargate.

22:24

Okay. So that's my pick. Stargate.

22:27

I wonder, I know it's not completely related, but there's the vibe check right

22:31

where Dune is kind of bringing in that that desert, the Egyptian themes.

22:37

Yeah, from a lot of the architecture, a lot of the religion aspect of it.

22:40

And then Stargate, the original movie, had a lot of that too.

22:43

So there might. Be something to it. Yeah. Yeah, maybe they're like, you know what?

22:46

This is a good time to bring back Stargate because people are into this right now.

22:49

So yeah, I think that's cool. I haven't gotten into Stargate yet, but I'm excited to join a new fandom.

22:55

That'd be. Cool. No. It's good. Stargate is a bit more, popcorn action than than Dune.

23:01

I'd say dune's more like a space opera.

23:03

But yeah, definitely similar vibes in terms of the location.

23:06

And everybody's into sci fi now. It's it's the hot thing of the month.

23:09

So yeah, looking forward to it. Hoping it's not just like a cash grab.

23:13

Let's do a IP that's going to bring in some stuff.

23:15

Take care of it, please. Alice.

23:18

And it might be like the fandoms again. So then they're going to take it seriously.

23:22

We have a lot of good ones. I'm going to go.

23:24

I'll do one more though. I'm going to go with Dash. Get to let you know.

23:28

I'm gonna go from left field. Mickey 17 with Robert Pattinson.

23:32

This is a new, A24 movie. I believe it is.

23:35

And, the idea is that he's this, like, disposable man.

23:38

He signs up for this insane project where, they clone them,

23:41

and then they kill him off, and they have him do, like, all the rough jobs, and they just, like,

23:45

let that one day we have more clones coming. But then one of the clones survive, and.

23:51

I seen the trailer for that is like, oh, yeah, that looks really. Cool.

23:53

I am I really appreciate Robert Pattinson's acting skills.

23:57

Post Twilight and this one, you can tell that

24:01

they're letting him be silly, and I don't think we've seen that before.

24:04

And, they're letting. I'm just gonna have fun with this one, so I can't

24:06

wait to see what this looks like for him. And it's just a really fun concept.

24:10

It's one of those sci fi concepts that sit with you for a while.

24:12

When you think about like, what does this mean? How would you play with it?

24:15

So Mickey 17 out of left field, it's going to be a blast.

24:17

Yeah, that reminds me. I know I've mentioned it too many times on the show,

24:20

a very short lived series called Altered Carbon, and it was on Netflix.

24:23

Yeah. It reminds me of that whole world.

24:26

They built their concept and stuff like that that you just

24:29

can make a new body one. This one, they could just clone another laborer.

24:33

But, yeah, that looks really cool. It's damn shame I cancel that show.

24:36

I know someday Anthony. Mackie for the second season, it's like, why would you you have a hot star.

24:41

Why would you do that? Yeah, yeah.

24:43

I'm, I'm looking forward to 28 years later.

24:45

It's the third sequel, if you guys. And seen 20 Days Later, 28 weeks later in the 20.

24:50

Yeah. And then 28 years later, those first two were so good.

24:54

And I think the last one came out in 2007.

24:57

So it's been so long. But yeah, I don't know.

25:00

I'm sure it'll be great. And Kelly Murphy, I guess, is supposed to be coming back in a different way.

25:04

So we might be a zombie. Might be, for I figured maybe he would be a former leader

25:09

of a, developed city that eventually fell or something like that.

25:13

So would be statues of him or something like that, but I don't know.

25:15

We'll see. I want to add real quick to that, John, and we just got information

25:18

that the 28 years later is the first in a new trilogy within that universe now.

25:23

So really? Yeah. Just for now. And the next movie, Bone Temple, is going to be out six months after that movie.

25:30

So not only are there's a new trilogy, but they already are booking them up.

25:34

Oh, that's. That's dope. Yeah. That's awesome.

25:37

That's really cool. All right, Aaron, let's kind of let's start let's do the last one.

25:42

I think probably for this now, what do you got for your last movie?

25:46

There's so. Many. Oh, man. I know, I know.

25:49

All right, I'll. I'll say honorable mentions to Paddington in Peru

25:53

for the kids, because the first two movies are sleeper hits.

25:56

Honorable mention to Sherlock Holmes three returning and Jude Law.

26:00

He's. Coming up this year. I'm sorry.

26:02

Real quick. Is that coming out this year? Do you know? Well, I saw sort of a list, so.

26:06

Maybe if that comes out, I'm gonna lose my mind for.

26:09

I like those first two movies so much. So that's.

26:11

I mean. Yeah, we got we got some Sherlock.

26:14

Like, it was just a flood of Sherlock stuff for a while.

26:17

I wasn't it because the other day stuff. And then. The. And there's a new Watson show coming up too,

26:20

so we might have that flood coming back. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

26:23

Give us some of the detective. We love it.

26:26

But I think I'm probably going to go with the Thunderbolts for this one.

26:29

Thunderbolts being a movie that's going to be coming, in 2025.

26:34

Jake. Sharia. The director, starring Sebastian Stan, coming back as the Winter soldier

26:40

and, Florence Pugh, David Harbor that we talked about from from Stranger

26:44

Things just looks like a nice misfit bunch of characters.

26:48

That you going to be able to sort of sink your teeth in?

26:50

I'm going to call this the, the new Guardians of the Galaxy.

26:53

You know how? It's just that that sort of bunch of characters that nobody really knew

26:57

much sort of about, even though we've seen them in the MCU before.

27:00

But it's like trying to reignite some some new favorites in people

27:03

for the new phase of the MCU.

27:05

Looks very interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing Hyperion,

27:08

which has been advertised through the movie as well,

27:11

and just seeing how it blends in with the the MCU as a whole and seeing

27:14

where their direction is going to, because I think it's one of the first ones that's going to be released for the.

27:19

MCU, I believe. Or is it brave new world that comes first?

27:22

I think Brave New World is first. Yeah. Okay. Yeah.

27:24

Well, either way, good to see.

27:27

I'm. I'm glad to see that you or I want to see how it sort of pivots in a in a direction

27:33

that's going to take us into a larger, overarching story.

27:36

And I'm also interested to see what that Asterix means in the title.

27:39

You know how it's always saying Thunderbolts, Asterix?

27:42

What's that? What is it? If nothing else, I'll watch it just to see what that is.

27:47

So that's good marketing. Somebody put some grammar marks in your titles. That's.

27:50

That's how you do it. Yeah.

27:53

A random question mark.

27:55

Next to not. Yeah, it's Thunderbolt. And part two.

28:00

Yeah I heard that about.

28:02

Yeah. Good.

28:04

I want to add to your tears real quick I, I'm not is it Hyperion because I know centuries in it.

28:09

Century. That's right. Yes.

28:11

Which I think is really good timing because we have a new Superman movie coming out.

28:14

So then you put like, all right, well, let's have our let's have our Suicide Squad kill our Superman, you know, to it.

28:19

That's it. Yeah, that'll be good.

28:22

Jonathan, what's your last movie that you heard about?

28:24

My last one of them is going to be Tron. Aries? Tron.

28:27

The neutron movies were so good.

28:29

So I'm excited to see it again.

28:31

I, I talk about it too often, but I loved Ready Player one.

28:34

Can't wait for Ready Player two. But I love anything that's really in this.

28:37

Like, not to go back to the same things I always talk about.

28:40

That's a world that's running out of water dropping.

28:42

Well, because this. Reminds me so much of the same kind of world.

28:45

I mean, they could totally connect them. Two. But even if we had other movies in that same, you know, living

28:50

inside the computer, you know, perspective or whatever, there's so much you can do with it.

28:54

And it's just, I don't know, a fun sci fi.

28:58

Yeah thing to explore. Yeah.

29:01

I, I, I'm hoping Jared Leto does it.

29:03

Jared Leto it up too much, but, Oh, yeah.

29:06

Tron legacy. So good. And, I think it's kind of forgotten.

29:09

And we have Nine Inch Nails doing the soundtrack for this one.

29:11

So yes, I am in. This last.

29:15

Jeff Bridges coming back for this one. Yes he is.

29:18

Oh, good. He's aging man. He's he's getting like each one.

29:22

He's getting on and on and on. Yeah. Yes.

29:24

That's good. You have a better gaming technology than we did Tron Legacy.

29:27

Well I think it's a fantastic movie. The de-aging for him was pretty rough.

29:30

So that's.

29:33

And then. All right, I'll close this off with Captain America Brave New World.

29:36

We get to see Sam Wilson do being our Captain America.

29:39

They're going to be introducing adamantium into the MCU.

29:42

This is going to be just a blast. Red Hulk.

29:46

Which, the more we're seeing visually of Red Hulk looks amazing.

29:50

It's amazing that motion capture you think so much.

29:52

Like when the first whole movie could be like, oh my God, it looks just like Mark Ruffalo or Martin.

29:56

Love it. It looks perfect.

29:58

And then as we progress, like it keeps getting better, how does that possible?

30:02

Yeah, Red hook looks so much like it. It's outstanding.

30:05

So I'm looking forward to. I can't wait to see the, the released cut.

30:09

You know, when they release the planet of the apes movie,

30:11

how they also released the version of the actors, the mocap.

30:14

I want them to do that with Harrison Ford.

30:16

Just to see him walking around is the red hot?

30:18

That was. Funny. Just in the middle of the street with, like,

30:21

a burning car next to him and all this stuff.

30:23

Yeah. Yeah, yeah.

30:26

Exactly. Yeah. But even even down to I watched or I saw a close up of the Red Hulk

30:31

just recently and, you know, the famous, scar that Harrison Ford has on the chin.

30:36

Like, even if you look at the Red Hulk's closest up face, he's got that there.

30:40

And you can see the gray along the sides. And, yeah, the.

30:43

I always picture the red Hulk, though, with that mustache.

30:46

I was like, because, you know, it's that Thunderbolt Ross.

30:49

He's got that mustache. Like, if he changed and he had the mustache, that would be really cool.

30:52

That would be that would happen. But yeah, I think Harrison Ford didn't want the mustache.

30:56

You know, they made a point of saying it in the trailer.

30:58

You know, you know, lose the officer, lose a mustache.

31:01

So yeah. I'm looking forward to that one too.

31:03

I have a feeling they were like, we want Harrison Ford and Harrison Ford's like, I ain't growing a mustache, guys.

31:07

So it was kind of like, all right, then we're gonna ride it around.

31:10

That's fine. They're not going to Henry Cavill where they have to CGI stuff.

31:14

Exactly. Only Harrison Ford. I could could do that. Like pull that weight.

31:18

It's like. But the character's been drawn this way for the last 40 years.

31:21

It's like, nope, nope. Let's move

31:25

to game of the, games that we're most hyped for in 2025.

31:28

I'll kick us off on this one as well.

31:30

I'm going to start off with 1943 rise of Hydra.

31:34

This is a new Marvel game. It's going to be starring Captain America

31:38

in World War two, and Black Panther from World War two.

31:40

T'Challa's grandfather, played by King Ezekiel from Walking Dead

31:44

and it's looks so good.

31:48

It's inspired by, it's inspired by God of War.

31:52

And so it'll be that play style. You're going to have a companion with it all the time, but they're companions.

31:56

Like if you're playing as Captain America, you're never this World War Two soldier,

31:58

and they're going to be building that story out as well. I think World War Two personally is

32:04

a very fun place to have shows and stories and movies

32:06

and whatever, yada yada, yada, because good and bad is so well defined.

32:10

And it's sometimes it's nice for that escapism again, where you're just like,

32:14

yeah, you can just shoot Nazis and don't feel guilty about it.

32:16

It's like in Red Dead Redemption two, like anytime you shot somebody or like lower down, you're like, good meter.

32:21

But then as soon as you shot something from the KKK, it's free.

32:23

So like, let's go crazy. Other KKK, you know, same thing happened here.

32:26

And, to be that earlier version of the joke,

32:30

all right, I think is to check it nuts is dead. But anyway, I mean, that earlier version of Black Panther with the not

32:35

high tech version of vibranium that's probably gonna be steampunk or whatever.

32:40

It should be a blast. I'm looking forward to that. It's we cool?

32:43

Let's go to Jonathan. What is your gamer most high for in 2025?

32:47

Yeah. So, you know, as we've talked about before, I'm upgrading my computer

32:51

going to be, super fast and able to play all kinds of stuff.

32:53

So honestly, I'll probably be able to play games from the last three years

32:56

that I haven't gotten to, like as of now, dated for a while.

33:00

So, you know, discount games for sure.

33:02

But not new games wise. I'm looking forward to the new Assassin's Creed, shadows.

33:07

Yeah. I've always liked Assassin's Creed games, and, I think that'll probably be

33:12

the first one I think of. I think it doesn't come out till February, but. Yeah.

33:15

I really. Like how you play. It's two different characters, and one of them is like, the big brute.

33:20

It's going to have to be like big swinging sword.

33:22

The other one has to be like that ninja that's stealthy. So you have both play styles in one game?

33:26

Yeah, that's really smart of them. Yeah. Aaron, what do you got on your list?

33:31

For me, very big. Like one play, single player, sort of mission gamer.

33:37

For me, like, story based games is good for me.

33:39

So fable four is coming out and I'm really interested to to see how they're gonna update the franchise.

33:45

First one obviously blew everybody away with Xbox One,

33:49

Xbox to they and also was

33:52

one of the first games that brought out that sort of alignment check.

33:55

Like the good things that you did made you look different.

33:57

The evil things that you did, man, just sort of look evil, really.

34:00

I don't know about you guys, but really hard to stay good in those.

34:03

Games and everything that you want.

34:06

I know in in video games just like. That, it's right there.

34:09

I could just, you know, I could just grab. It

34:11

and then you just see that things like plus ten evil point, God damn it.

34:15

Yeah, yeah. The whole games room and. All right. Yeah.

34:19

Yeah. Divine. You safe? But yeah, I think that was fable was one of the first games

34:23

where I actually started to do a bit of a completionist

34:25

in terms of getting all obsidian weapons and all that kind of stuff.

34:28

So fable four coming out, graphics update.

34:31

Hopefully John Cleese comes back to do some voiceover.

34:33

That will be good.

34:35

And then, yeah, I'm, I'm pretty pretty hyped for that one.

34:38

And I'm, I'm interested to see how they, they run the combat because they kind of changed it over.

34:43

But all three of the games. So the first one was obviously very simple, button mashing.

34:48

But then by the time you got to your third one, you sort of would changing

34:51

between magic gloves and, and and like the pistols and swords and.

34:55

Yeah, I'm just interested to see how they go about it,

34:57

because combat has come a long way since the good old days of the original Xbox.

35:01

So they were all for I'm not sure what

35:04

month that's coming out in, but I definitely know it's 2025.

35:07

Yeah, I have it on my list. I don't have the month for it.

35:10

The as for the combat, I have a feeling when I'm playing Dragon Age, the new one,

35:15

it feels like it would be that

35:18

I think it's it feels like an advancement of the first fable combat.

35:21

So I have a feeling it could be similar to that. Both very loyal to Xbox. So that's good.

35:26

All right, I will start. I'll do.

35:28

I'm mean, I know there's so many people that are gonna be like,

35:31

GTA six, whatever, I gotta go with civilization seven.

35:34

One of the most addicting games on PC.

35:36

I mean, my buddy Scott already ready to, like,

35:39

you know, lose a couple nights over this stuff, so it's fantastic.

35:43

It's, the biggest change I've seen civilization go through in any of the expansions,

35:47

where basically each era, you could choose a new leader and whatnot.

35:50

It'll be very, very different than normal.

35:52

But civilization seven, I'm hyped for that.

35:54

It's always a delight. Yeah.

35:58

Jonathan, let's go ahead. I'm thinking one more game each will probably do that

36:01

because I know the for games is less than the movies.

36:04

Jonathan, what do you got? Yeah, I'll probably just go with the grant.

36:06

Not a six. You can't pass up a grant. The title game. Yeah.

36:09

You know, like like I was saying, like you,

36:14

you want to be good, you want to, like, drive straight on the road

36:17

and stuff like that. But then there's one point you accidentally ran over somebody

36:20

that's like, all right, well, let's see how much stars we can get.

36:22

Let's get the police involved. Yeah.

36:25

Grand total of five was surprisingly good storyline to it, too.

36:28

So I haven't seen much about what's going to be in six, but I'm sure they're,

36:32

you know, putting a lot of money into it because then, like,

36:34

the last one was a huge success, I think. So, yeah, I could maybe go.

36:39

It's, amazing how little Rockstar gives us.

36:43

They drop a trailer about, like, a year ago,

36:46

and we get nothing from them anymore, and all we want is more content updates, so.

36:50

Yeah. But I know what, it comes out.

36:52

It'll be something I play nonstop, for sure.

36:55

They have such a big, player base on, on Twitch and things like that.

36:59

They even do what's the roleplay stuff they do?

37:02

They don't even just play the game. They just actually role plays

37:04

characters in the world and they just, yeah, go for it.

37:07

Like GTA is got its own community in that way too.

37:09

So and they do it with Red dead as well, which is like more down my alley.

37:14

But yeah, King All right.

37:17

What what do you got for us here? All right. Last one for me is going to be, Gears of War.

37:22

ID a very big fan of the Gears of War, franchise.

37:26

The first one came out, obviously, on the Xbox 360.

37:30

Marcus and Dom, you know, you want to find a best friend that's just like either one of them.

37:35

Those two are just completely compatible together.

37:37

And then, you know, brought through all the feels through the the first few movies and seeing their arc

37:42

and him trying to find his wife and things like that. But this one actually brings us to, a time before the events

37:49

of the original game. It shows the events and you playing as Marcus and Dom again,

37:53

and it shows the events of them actually going through Emergence Day

37:57

was when the locusts come up from underground.

37:59

So looking forward to that because, I think Gears of War

38:03

definitely revolutionized shooters for me, or at least third person shooters, because it had that cover based system.

38:09

And I have very fond memories of playing the first one,

38:12

listening to metal in the background as you're running through,

38:14

being chased by a berserker is just like dodging

38:17

at the very last minute while smashing through these poles.

38:19

Oh my. Me and my friend Michael. He like he doesn't live here anymore.

38:22

But shout out to Michael if you're listening. Yeah, we we played the shit out of that.

38:27

And yeah, it changed our lives. It was great. So emergence day, bring it back.

38:31

Let's see some Gears of War again in 2025.

38:34

And it's Xbox Gold. Xbox really needs to bring back some of their most, you know, storied IPS.

38:40

And that's definitely one of them. I bought an Xbox after that announcement trailer.

38:44

I was like, okay, I'm in because I haven't really played a lot of the other Gears of War

38:47

just because it was hard for me to get used to that over the shoulder. Now, I'm used to it though, because I'll get a lot of games are doing that.

38:52

I'm ready for it, man. I'm right there with you. Day one. I'm going to be getting that. Yeah, sure.

38:56

Yeah. Isn't squeaks the one that was a huge Gears of War fan?

38:59

Yeah. Oh, yeah. Sure. I guess he has a tattoo.

39:01

Tattoo of the. Yes. The skulls of different ECoG.

39:04

Yeah, I think he has the gun. The chainsaw.

39:07

Oh. The Ripper. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

39:09

He's got, I swear, like the most Lilo and stitch is on one leg and

39:13

he's on the other leg. These guys. And that is so. Yeah.

39:17

All right, guys, well, like I said, 20, 25, it's going to be an amazing year.
