What's that as
0:10
spooky?
0:11
Hey jooky, I'm pretty sure it's dead.
0:13
He's coming this way. Wait a
0:15
minute, I sa.
0:21
Nandas please
0:26
Hey boo, it's
0:28
me Roz and welcome
0:31
to Ghosted by Roz
0:33
Hernandez, the podcast.
0:35
Where I talk to people that I like
0:38
about the paranormal. Oh
0:41
my god, one of my favorite comedians
0:44
is on the show today, Joel Kim
0:46
Booster. He's iconic.
0:49
You've seen him on lots of television,
0:52
on stages, on screens, and
0:56
fun fact, he lives in
0:58
a house that has a ghost in
1:00
it. What a dream
1:03
guest. But before we get
1:05
to that, I want to
1:07
read a story. This, of course, was
1:09
sent to my email ghosted by Roz at
1:11
gmail dot com. It was written out
1:13
nice and wonderfully in about one
1:16
or two paragraphs, just as you could
1:18
do if you'd like me to read one on the show.
1:20
This one comes from eber Lynne,
1:23
who writes, Hi, Roz, I wanted to
1:25
share with you my ghost story that happened
1:27
in twenty seventeen. There's
1:30
a little timeline here, okay, so it
1:32
says August twenty seventeen, I
1:34
move into a new house with my daughter. October
1:37
twenty seventeen. One weekend
1:40
in October, my daughter is with her
1:42
father for the weekend and I am home by myself,
1:44
about to enjoy some takeout and binge
1:46
watch TV shows. It turned
1:49
into a seven hour binge
1:52
of Tyler the Medium,
1:54
a popular show on E that in
1:56
no way, shape or form I would
1:58
have been allowed to growing up due to religion.
2:01
My mother always told me that believing an astrology
2:04
or psychics was a way to open
2:07
myself to the devil. Tonight,
2:09
I ignored what she'd been telling me my whole
2:12
life. Nothing bad would really
2:14
happen right at a girl.
2:17
Finally, I went to bed at three am.
2:20
Perfect All lights
2:22
are off and it's pitch black,
2:25
but I couldn't sleep right away. My
2:28
bedroom was really dark and
2:30
the bedroom door was open to the hallway,
2:33
when suddenly, I for
2:35
sure felt a presence.
2:39
I froze under the covers and refused
2:41
to look over to the hallway, even
2:43
though I felt something or
2:46
someone was there. Five
2:48
minutes later, I create some courage
2:51
and decided to look over, and
2:53
there it was. Within the black
2:56
of the dark, I see a
2:58
faint silhouette of someone
3:00
about five foot three. Immediately
3:04
I shut my eyes and in fear and guilt.
3:06
I start to pray. I apologized
3:08
to God for disobeying my mother's advice
3:11
and regretting I made this horrible decision.
3:14
I basically prayed myself to sleep.
3:17
Oh my God, Tyler Henry, what are you
3:19
doing to people? Fast
3:21
forward to July twenty
3:23
eighteen. I invite my neighbor
3:26
D over for tea so
3:28
we could get to know each other better. D
3:31
has lived next door for over thirty years.
3:34
She raised her kids there and knew all
3:36
the neighbors on the street. She also
3:38
knew Mary, the previous
3:41
owner of my house, for a long time.
3:44
Mary had lived at the house since nineteen
3:47
eighty one, when the house was built.
3:49
She raised children with a husband
3:51
and continued living in the house even
3:54
after her husband passed away. She
3:56
was now in her nineties and her kids were
3:59
begging her to move closer to them,
4:01
and that's when she decided to sell
4:03
her house. After D shared
4:06
Mary's story, I asked her if
4:08
she was still alive. D told
4:11
me she had recently passed
4:13
away. I asked her when,
4:16
and it turns out that it
4:18
was October of twenty seventeen,
4:21
the same month that I had had my encounter with
4:24
that shadow, I had chills
4:26
and shared with d that most
4:28
likely it was Mary that came to visit
4:30
me that evening in the hallway. That's
4:33
the power of Tyler Henry. That
4:36
ghosts saw you watching Tyler Henry and said,
4:38
oh, I feel so comfortable around him.
4:41
I'm going to come out
4:43
of my ghost closet and I am
4:46
going to make an appearance tonight. And
4:48
I don't blame that ghost because, as
4:51
you all know, since I've been doing this
4:53
podcast it started in January of twenty
4:55
nineteen, I have always talked about
4:57
how badly I want to talk to Tyler
5:00
Henry myself, and I'm proud
5:03
to say I'm still trying.
5:05
One of these days, folks, we're gonna get Tyler
5:08
Henry. Thank you
5:10
for sending that story. And by
5:12
the way, thank you guys all so much
5:14
for the birthday wishes. My
5:17
birthday was October twentieth, Libra,
5:20
My biggest birthday wish is not only
5:22
do you tell everyone you know about this podcast,
5:26
but also if I just so happen
5:28
to be going to a place where you live, come
5:30
see me live on
5:33
the thirtieth of October, I'm doing Ghosted
5:35
Live in Los Angeles, at Largo
5:38
and then I'm doing stand up Election
5:41
Week in Raleigh,
5:44
North Carolina at good Night's
5:46
Comedy Club that is November
5:49
seventh. Then I'm going to Portland,
5:52
Oregon in December, that is
5:54
December eleventh, and that is
5:56
going to be Ghosted Live. And
5:58
then in Seattle, I will be
6:01
there the thirteenth of December
6:03
doing Ghosted Live and
6:07
stand up. Oh my god, you
6:09
get them both. Also, guess what
6:12
I Am coming to New
6:14
York City that
6:17
is also in December. So go
6:19
to my linktree linktree
6:22
dot com slash roz Hernandez.
6:24
It's also linked in my Instagram
6:26
at roz Hernandez and you will get all those
6:29
dates there. You can also get my autographed
6:31
polaroids, cameos,
6:34
all that good stuff. And are you watching
6:37
the Haunted Doll my YouTube series.
6:39
It's almost like this podcast without
6:42
guests. It's just me. It's
6:44
like Living for the Dead, except
6:46
it's only me and I'm not
6:48
helping anybody. All
6:51
right, let's talk to Joel
6:53
Kim Booster. I was
6:55
the show.
7:08
Where were you?
7:09
I was in Arlington, Texas?
7:11
Why what were you doing?
7:13
Giving a talk about what else
7:15
but diversity and inclusion in entertainment?
7:17
Industry, and I will say,
7:20
have you done colleges yet? Not
7:22
really, you'll get there soon.
7:24
And they are Every comic will
7:26
tell you this. They are the worst gigs.
7:28
This was fine because it was just a Q and A and me
7:31
talking, which was lovely and like everyone
7:33
was great. But like when
7:35
I was early in my career touring, I would
7:37
do these college gigs because they pay three
7:40
to four times as much as a club will for
7:42
one night. But they are some
7:44
of the most awful
7:46
like scenarios you could ever imagine.
7:49
I once. I won't name
7:51
the school they have it Chilis on
7:53
campus, though, so that might give it away.
7:56
Why are we doing the podcast I'm
7:58
asking you, Joel? Oh yeah, the podcasts?
8:01
Yeah, I thought we started. Let's do it,
8:03
Okay, we can keep talking, okay,
8:05
keep going.
8:06
No, And then I
8:09
had to perform an hour stand up during
8:11
the twenty fifteen Bernie Hillary
8:13
debate and they would not turn
8:15
off the TVs for the debate,
8:18
so half the Chilis was watching the debate.
8:20
Maybe twelve people were watching me
8:23
and it was one
8:25
of the hardest hours because I
8:27
also wanted to see them BA so I was
8:30
like, yeah, fuck my drag, like I don't
8:32
care about any of this. So
8:34
colleges are not always ideal,
8:37
but they do pay very well, and I will
8:39
say they are also how I found out
8:41
that I had a rider that my manager
8:43
had created for me without consulting
8:45
me. Well,
8:47
so one day I did a college and
8:49
they didn't have a green room. They had like they
8:52
just put me in a classroom and there was like
8:54
two mirrors, like mismatched mirrors
8:56
that were like full length mirrors in the room and I
8:58
was one on one side and on the other
9:00
side of the room. And I was like, Okay, this is weird. And then
9:02
after the show, I was like chatting with them and they were
9:04
like, sorry, we have to like carry these mirrors
9:07
across campus back to the
9:09
prop department or whatever. And I was like, why did
9:11
you bring those in here? And they were
9:13
like, oh, your writer says it's a man that a
9:15
mirror that you can see your front and your back.
9:18
And I was like, and I like texted
9:20
my manager. I was like, you were making me look like
9:22
a lunatic. I was like, there's
9:25
no I was like, I have never once expressed
9:28
to you the need to see my back
9:30
as well as my front. He
9:33
just assumed he.
9:34
Just assumed I'm doing my
9:36
first ever bus
9:38
tour. Oh, I leave
9:41
at three pm today.
9:44
We have like opposite lives today. I
9:46
landed at seven thirty, you're leaving at three.
9:49
I love that for us. I've got to get open for Bob
9:51
for like, Oh, that's amazing.
9:53
Yeah, but I've never
9:55
done like a bus, have you?
9:56
I have never done a bus. No, I've never done
9:58
a bus.
9:59
I'm so creous.
10:01
I think it'll be it sounds fun to me
10:04
that with Bob. I think it'll be fun in that crew,
10:06
it'll be fun. And also Bob
10:09
like cultivates such a smart audience
10:11
that you'll have the fucking time of
10:13
your life. You really will. Like, the thing
10:15
is about Bob's audiences is that
10:17
they are not drag comedy audiences.
10:20
They are like comedy comedy audiences, and
10:22
they because Bob is so smart.
10:26
Like my problem is is a lot of times when
10:28
I'm performing in LA, especially at the clubs like
10:30
and at certain other places,
10:32
like when you perform for people who
10:35
don't know what the obvious punchline
10:37
is. Like as comics, we're always
10:39
trying to stay ahead of whatever the obvious
10:42
punchline is, you know, but
10:44
if you're performing for an audience that doesn't even
10:46
know the obvious punchline, and then you
10:48
jump ahead to what the subversion
10:51
is. They're so lost,
10:53
and it's like you're supposed to say
10:55
the thing that exactly it's
10:58
I thought agents had small dicks, you know, like,
11:00
it's just like, you know, like, and it is so
11:03
frustrating and it's not helpful
11:05
at a certain point to perform for dumb audiences
11:08
who don't know comedy, right. But
11:10
I don't think you'll have that problem with Bob, because
11:13
I think Bob is Bob
11:15
is a classic example of someone who
11:18
I do think there is like there
11:20
was a universe I think of a period of time
11:23
in drag, especially where like
11:25
Bob probably could have just been a stand up.
11:28
I think though that it was
11:30
at a time when like stand up did not feel
11:32
super welcoming to Bob, and
11:35
he also has all these other amazing skills
11:37
that go into drag and et cetera, et
11:39
cetera. But I do think there are a lot of drag
11:41
queens that are so funny
11:43
that would have just gone the regular route
11:46
of stand up had stand up not
11:48
been so aggressively like
11:51
homophobic.
11:53
Well, do you remember me doing it. I
11:55
used to do clubs as a drag queen.
11:57
Oh I remember, I remember.
11:58
The improblem Nobody
12:01
that was a drag Yeah, no, it's and it
12:03
was it was.
12:05
But you know what, though, do you not feel
12:07
like you learned a lot from those experiences?
12:10
And like when I first started touring, Like
12:12
after Conan in twenty sixteen, I started
12:15
headlining clubs for the first time, and back
12:17
then, nobody cared if I lived or died, I
12:19
would go out on stage. No one had heard of me. Maybe
12:22
a few people from Twitter had come to see the
12:24
show, but nobody. And it really does teach
12:26
you how to do your gay shit in a way that
12:28
like is going to pop with a broader
12:30
audience, and like it really trains you
12:33
to like get the audience on your side
12:35
very quickly in a way that like I
12:37
think, if you stay doing I
12:40
understand the safety of wanting to only
12:42
do queer rooms, but like
12:45
or alt rooms for that matter, But like I
12:47
got, I became a much better comic.
12:50
And it was much scarier at times,
12:53
totally, but I became a much better comic
12:55
traveling in the country and doing like Zanies
12:57
in Nashville.
12:58
But I also like now that people come
13:00
to see me. I have spent
13:03
over a decade being the
13:05
only like not famous person or
13:07
being like the one that's like
13:09
the freak and the lineup that I am
13:12
always assuming that nobody knows
13:14
who I am and I have to explain everything. Yeah, and
13:16
then now people come to see me and I'm like, wait,
13:18
wait, you already knew it. I was, or like
13:20
you know what I mean.
13:21
But it's like you won't run into
13:23
this too, because I have to do this now too, where
13:25
it's like everybody knows I'm
13:27
adopted. Everybody knows my
13:29
parents are white, you know, like I spent
13:32
the first like ten years of my career
13:34
talking about the dysphoria of having
13:36
a white family and being a person
13:38
of color. But the thing, the fact
13:41
is, it's like I still can't go out
13:43
there and do jokes with that context
13:45
underlying things. I have to you
13:47
have to constantly find a new quick
13:49
way to like get everybody
13:52
on the same page without reusing
13:54
the same joke. And it becomes more and
13:56
more difficult every year because
13:59
I'm like, can you just all know
14:01
who I am at this point, like please,
14:03
like so you don't have to explain myself
14:05
and why I have this goofy ass fucking name
14:07
like it is. It's a trial,
14:09
It's a tribulation, you're telling me.
14:12
I don't know why I'm not the most famous personal.
14:14
I don't know either.
14:18
So Joel, we all know your
14:21
parents are Asian. You're
14:25
straight tell
14:28
me about ghosts.
14:29
Ghosts, okay, because here's the
14:31
thing.
14:32
I feel like, at some point
14:34
pre pandemic, I was like, hey, you
14:36
know to come up with podcasts about ghosts, and you were
14:39
like, I don't have
14:41
goat, I don't know about ghosts or something.
14:43
I don't know what you I think you said, get
14:45
out of my face. I think you
14:48
said I need a mirror that sees
14:50
the front and the back of me and leave
14:53
this dress I meeting.
14:54
If this was pre pandemic, then at the time
14:56
I probably did not have a ghost experience
14:59
to share, and I was probably feeling like, oh,
15:01
like, what would I go
15:03
on and talk on this podcast about.
15:05
I will say the only thing is the
15:07
only thing I will say that I had
15:10
probably to talk about that was ghost related
15:12
was I did do a podcast with a ghost debunker
15:15
once, but I will say his
15:17
debunking of it wasn't that like the
15:20
experiences that people have with ghosts
15:22
aren't real. What happens is
15:24
is that if something incredibly
15:27
violent or emotional or highly
15:29
charged happens in a space, it
15:31
will leave an imprint of energy
15:34
in that space, and it's more of an echo
15:36
like ghosts in his mind. They
15:38
are not like conscious beings that
15:41
are like left over wandering the earth
15:43
like trying to solve their like unfinished
15:45
business. It's just they are the echo
15:48
of the energy that was left behind
15:50
because they were murdered brutally there,
15:53
or because they had a huge connection to
15:55
that space, or because
15:57
you know, something along those lines,
15:59
or because they were highly connected to the people in
16:01
that space, you know. And so I
16:04
actually found that quite convincing.
16:06
I believe in that. I believe
16:08
in that, but I also feel
16:10
like it could be like you're
16:12
an invisible dead person that like it has full
16:14
thought, Like I think there could be more than one.
16:16
Yeah, no, no, not true, true, true, true.
16:18
There seems to be some ghosts
16:20
that like have no clue there a ghosts,
16:23
and that's what they call it, residual haunting. And they're
16:25
just sort of like just going about
16:27
their day and they probably in their mind, it's
16:29
like Nicole Kim and the others like they
16:32
don't like you're the
16:34
ghost, like right, But then
16:36
it seems like there's the ones that have the
16:38
ability to like call me
16:41
slurs or whatever, which I've also experienced,
16:43
and I think that that's more of an
16:45
intelligent being.
16:47
Yeah, No, with a consciousness, with a consciousness
16:49
for sure. Yeah, And
16:52
I don't know, I don't know exactly where
16:54
I fall. I mean, you have to like to set
16:56
things up to you have to understand, I come
16:58
from a very deep religious background.
17:01
What kind of evangelical Southern Baptist.
17:03
That sounds scary?
17:05
So the only kind of ghosts we were believing in
17:07
was the Holy ghost. Baby, you better believe that
17:09
there were no such things as ghosts going on
17:12
in our house. Demons they
17:14
were real.
17:15
Tell me about demons.
17:16
Demons were fully real. I mean, like I
17:18
remember when I was thirteen. I
17:21
you know, I struggled a lot growing
17:24
up, in part because I was deeply repressed
17:26
as a gay person in a very religious household
17:28
where I was homeschooled, et cetera, et cetera, kept
17:31
under lock and key also like
17:34
bipolar probably undiagnosed,
17:36
like probably all the way back then, you
17:39
know, experiencing emotional tumult
17:41
that I could not process and that my parents
17:44
refused to deal with, like they sent me to Christian
17:46
therapists that were like pray
17:49
and like be better, and
17:51
that was the extent of it. And
17:54
so like I remember at thirteen, I got in a fight
17:56
with my dad's so bad and I was like throwing
17:58
a tantrum so bad that he tried to exercise
18:01
me in the middle of the fight. This is
18:03
full disclosure. I believe in my first
18:06
Comedy Central special this joke. This
18:08
a bit about it, but it's a real story, and
18:10
it's funny in the bit because I remember being
18:12
like, you know, I started laughing
18:15
in his face when he started doing it. And
18:18
the joke is is that, like, well, that seems like
18:20
something a demon might do in that situation
18:23
if I was trying to like beat the rumors,
18:26
Like likely thing for a
18:28
demon to do is laugh during the exorcism.
18:31
Totally, which is what this is what I
18:33
think about twenty four to seven about
18:36
like as I go to these haunted places, every
18:38
once in a while, people will be like, be careful,
18:40
there's demons, like you're gonna what, and I'm
18:42
like, these are the same people
18:45
sometimes or at least there are
18:47
a lot of people out there that think trans
18:49
people gave people drag queens whatever, are
18:52
deep whatever.
18:54
And I'm like, if I encountered a demon,
18:57
it would probably be like top bottom verse,
18:59
Babe, I recognize the game, Like
19:01
they're gonna be like, Yeah, we were
19:04
feeling each other out, like so
19:06
what are you into?
19:06
Exactly?
19:07
What kind of demon are you?
19:08
Exactly exactly? But at
19:10
the time, like as much as I joked about it, like
19:12
it was really upsetting, it's I mean, it's a really
19:14
upsetting thing to your father think
19:17
that your behavior is so outrageous that
19:19
you were possessed by a demon. Yeah,
19:22
and so, like, demons were very present,
19:25
Like talk about demons was very present
19:27
in my childhood, and like I
19:30
am still to this day, I would
19:32
say, like I love horror movies. Love
19:35
horror movies. The ones that still
19:38
to this day make me a little
19:40
ooky googy are the ones that
19:42
are like The Omen and The Exorcist,
19:45
Like the ones that involve like basically
19:47
anything involving a Catholic church. Get
19:50
me the fuck out of there, Like, because
19:53
there is a little part of me that has
19:55
not unlearned the trauma that
19:57
I grew up with and I'm like, demons
19:59
are real. Demons are real, and they could they could
20:01
inhabit my body at any time.
20:03
Do you think if there was a demon
20:06
at the foot of your bed that
20:08
you would turn to the
20:10
Lord Jesus Christ?
20:12
Hmmm, No, I honestly,
20:14
I would probably do the opposite. I'd
20:16
be like, I'd be like, let's
20:18
team up, bitch. Do you imagine
20:21
us, let's collab, Let's collab
20:24
like get it like, get in here, get.
20:26
In here, girl, have your people call my
20:28
people, and we'll do a project.
20:31
Yeah, because I think I think I've burned
20:33
too many bridges with JC.
20:37
I don't know that he would be there to help me as
20:39
much as he, you know, proclaims to be like
20:41
always forgiving. I don't know about that now.
20:44
I do think Jesus would be like, oh
20:46
now you want me? Yeah, okay,
20:48
So you have since had
20:51
a ghost experience.
20:53
I have since had a ghost experience.
20:54
Wait, I should set this up here. I
20:56
am backstage at the Tribeca
20:59
film and
21:01
I'm sitting there with who
21:04
was it, Tig Nataro, Sandra.
21:07
Bernhard Dupper you named dropping bitch.
21:09
Margaret Chow, and
21:13
I'm chatting with my friend Joe Kimbooster
21:16
about ghosts. I think, I think Mark, I think my
21:18
friend Margaret was like, oh my
21:20
god, you guys you have to listen to Ross's
21:22
podcast. It's called ghost It. I've been on it,
21:24
and I'm like, Margaret, stop, I'm
21:26
embarrassing me. And then
21:29
and then Joel was like, I
21:31
live in a haunted house.
21:32
And I'm not just looking at my phone. I'm trying
21:34
to pull up the uh
21:37
your rider. No, what will become
21:40
very important later on
21:42
in this story, which is the receipt that
21:45
the ghostbuster sent me about my house.
21:48
Okay, why are you cheating on me with a Ghostbuster?
21:50
I know?
21:51
And you said this. You said this like
21:54
very early when I was explaining that, like
21:57
I wanted
21:59
to do this with a different Ghostbuster.
22:02
So basically what happened is this, I
22:05
purchased a house.
22:06
Congrats.
22:07
I am wealthy now and
22:10
very lucky, very lucky. It's in the
22:12
East Hollywood Hills, right around Universal.
22:15
I'm like, I'm actually giving too many details
22:17
about where I live right now. My neighbor is
22:19
Charlie XCX. Yeah,
22:23
there's also a lot of snakes over there. Yeah, there's
22:25
snakes, there's coyotes, there.
22:27
I used to walk around the
22:29
lake a lot, lots of celebrity
22:32
siding.
22:32
Yeah, there, I missed an opportunity
22:34
when you were like, there's lots of snakes over there, and
22:36
I was like, yeah, Caroline Policheck used to live
22:38
with her. Oh yeah,
22:42
bb Rexla lives in the neighborhood too. Talk
22:46
about snake. No. I love
22:48
BB.
22:49
I don't go to your neighborhood anymore
22:51
because one time I was supposed to
22:53
go on a hike with a friend. I
22:55
won't name drop, but it was a
22:57
friend of mine. Somebody
23:01
sent me a picture and they're like, good thing
23:03
you didn't go. It was the biggest snake I've ever
23:05
seen in my life.
23:06
It was j Loo. Actually, I've
23:08
never seen snakes over there. This is crazy to
23:10
me, even now I'm never leaving my house huge.
23:13
It was like I'm telling you ice
23:16
Cube, Owen Wilson, j lo Anacondas
23:19
whoof it was big?
23:22
That is crazy, So be careful, okay, because
23:24
there's rattle.
23:25
That's good to know. I don't like
23:27
that. But it's a lovely house.
23:29
I'm very grateful that I was able to afford
23:31
it. And as
23:34
I was getting the key handoff
23:36
from the previous owner, Miriam,
23:39
lovely woman. She has a stack
23:41
of pictures, okay, and she's like, this is a
23:43
fun tradition that everyone who's ever lived in the house
23:45
has done, which is like sort of take pictures
23:47
of themselves in the house from
23:49
the very beginning, from the jump.
23:52
Did you see the pictures? Yes, So she's there
23:54
like a thousand of them because there was scary
23:59
and they just go and go.
24:00
There were a ton of pictures because the house was built in
24:02
forties and it was built by a man
24:04
name Ralph I'll
24:06
call him.
24:07
And he owned Ralph.
24:10
Yes he was. Yeah, he's just one
24:12
of many Ralph's in the conglomerate
24:14
of Ralph's.
24:15
Okay, yeah, yeah.
24:17
But and so she started off with that
24:19
picture, black and white photo of Ralph
24:21
next to the house that he had just built. Ralph
24:23
built this house. He loved this house.
24:26
It was his like dream. And
24:28
she's going through showing me all the other
24:30
people who live in the house, the various ways the house
24:32
has looked over the years, and then she gets
24:35
to a point in the photos in like the
24:37
seventies and she's like, oh, weird,
24:39
that's funny, Like that looks
24:41
like Ralph, but he didn't live there then,
24:44
huh. And then she just continues
24:46
flipping the photos and I was like wait wait wait wait
24:48
wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait.
24:52
It's like, let's back up here. You
24:55
think that's Ralph And she's like, yeah,
24:57
it looks just like And we compare the photos.
24:59
It looked same, clothes, like it
25:01
looks I'll show you the photo the next.
25:03
But it's an owner. It
25:05
wasn't like a ghost picture.
25:07
It was mysterious
25:10
because she didn't know why
25:13
he would be there thirty years
25:15
later looking roughly
25:17
the same in the back in
25:19
the back of the yard, in the
25:21
back of the yard of this photo, okay.
25:24
And she literally said to me, she was like, that's
25:26
weird. Ra else shouldn't be there. Flip
25:29
flip flip. And I was like, this
25:31
is the scene in the horror movie. Yeah, when
25:34
like you realize, like this is like midway
25:37
through the horror movie where they go to the house and they're
25:39
like, oh my god, he's been dead the whole time. This person
25:41
that I've been communicating with, But.
25:44
This was the owner, not a
25:46
realtor or.
25:47
No, no, no, no, this was the owner. The previous the
25:49
woman who owned the house before me. Okay, and
25:51
then she gets to the end of the photos and she's like,
25:53
you know, be sure to take some photos of yourself in
25:55
the house to add to the stack and then give the stack to
25:58
the next people. And I didn't think much
26:00
of it. I just thought it was like Ralph didn't appear
26:02
in any of the other photos, so I
26:04
was like, this must be just some weird coincidence,
26:07
like some guy who looks just like him, like
26:09
in the background of the photos. Like whatever, Well,
26:12
like, I'm not going to worry about it. I have a house
26:14
dream come true. Never in a million years thought
26:16
this would happen for me.
26:18
What does Ralph look like or what did
26:20
he?
26:21
I think it is like German, He's like it
26:23
weirdly looks like my dad because
26:26
famously again adopted Okay,
26:31
but.
26:31
Just like a tall told
26:33
me time when
26:36
he filled me in on that.
26:37
Fact, just like a tall, Germanic,
26:40
sturdy looking guy, slightly
26:44
older and by the time he built
26:46
the house, but probably fifties
26:48
sixties, maybe by the time he finished
26:50
the house, I don't know, So like that
26:52
was what made it extra strange that he would be
26:54
in a photo that she believed took place
26:57
in the seventies when he built the house in the
26:59
forties at an already
27:01
old age.
27:02
I also forget that people that aren't famous
27:04
live in the Hollywood Hills. Yeah,
27:06
there's also like doctors.
27:08
Told the normal people and in fact, let
27:10
me tell you, they're all fucking nightmares,
27:12
and I hate every single fucking one of them.
27:15
I have been I'm on like the the I
27:17
have been websites.
27:18
Banned from next door. I've
27:21
been banned from next door for being aggressive
27:24
and for calling people out for caring
27:26
about shit that they are caring about the
27:28
wrong shit, and specifically
27:30
about the way they talk about un house people, which
27:33
is not a probably my neighborhood whatsoever.
27:36
But no, I'm banned from nextdoor, from
27:38
my neighborhood on nextdoor. I guess if
27:41
I moved, I might be allowed in a new neighborhood
27:43
on nextdoor, but I'm not exactly sure. But
27:46
I feel very righteously
27:48
like okay with being banned from next door
27:50
for what I did, because I was like, no, I
27:52
couldn't, I could not deal
27:55
with the entitlement, and like
27:57
like it's just not the world that I come from, and like
27:59
I'm very lucky to be a homeowner. If I was
28:02
not on one failed NBC sitcom
28:04
that lasted one season, I would not
28:06
be a homeowner today. Like I mean, God bless
28:08
Lout and Fire Island too. But like, seriously,
28:11
I am not the kind of person with
28:13
a kind of background that should own a home right
28:16
now. And boy did I bring that energy
28:18
to the next door. But
28:22
yeah, no, it was crazy.
28:24
The people that are previous
28:26
owners were any
28:28
of them famous.
28:30
There was an so the last guy who
28:33
who remodeled the house in the nineties
28:35
the house hasn't been remodeled since the nineties was
28:38
an NBA player. I don't know his name, but
28:40
he was an NBA player. But because of that,
28:43
all the counters are
28:45
just like, like slightly,
28:48
I would say four inches too
28:51
tall for me and my boyfriend six
28:53
my fiance rather is six two, and
28:57
he loves it. He loves it. But
28:59
you should see me try to take my contacts
29:01
out at our bathroom stake, which is also
29:04
too high. It's like I need
29:06
like a little steps to like get close. It's
29:08
so embarrassing.
29:11
But yeah, I think he might be the closest
29:13
because I did ask Miriam. I was like, do you know if any anyone
29:16
famous ever lived in this house, and she was like, I don't
29:18
think so. I think I'm I probably am
29:20
the most famous person to live in this house. And
29:24
and like that's not saying a lot
29:26
because I don't know what this basketball
29:28
player I mean clearly like he couldn't have been that good
29:30
of a basketball player if he was living in this house,
29:33
you know.
29:33
But okay, we gotta get to the ghost.
29:35
Okay, yeah, we have to get to Okay.
29:37
So you move in weird situation
29:40
with Miriam, A.
29:40
Weird situation with things
29:43
are things are going fine, I
29:45
will say, you know, things
29:48
that are explainable start happening. Okay,
29:51
you know it's a it's a It's one of those
29:53
houses where like you enter on
29:55
the second floor and then you
29:58
go downstairs to the bedrooms, and
30:01
constantly I would like have
30:03
this picture hanging up on my fridge
30:07
of me and my partner and
30:10
fully stable magnet.
30:12
It's a picture, it's not heavy. We
30:15
would like be downstairs in
30:17
our bedroom and just hear a crash
30:20
and I'd come upstairs and
30:22
the photo would be and it was like a sturdy
30:24
magnet. It was like one of those you know, those like
30:27
graphite r rock magnets
30:30
like the amethyst like magnets
30:33
that you get at the Natural History Museum.
30:35
It's one of those, and that's why we could hear it and
30:37
it would crash. And then like things started
30:39
happening where we would hear stuff
30:42
upstairs and I thought maybe
30:44
like an animal had gotten into the house or something
30:46
like that. It was very strange. I bought
30:48
I bought a baseball bat good
30:51
to have next to my bed,
30:53
just in case. My boyfriend hates
30:55
it. It gives him nightmares. But
30:58
I I wanted to have it because
31:01
I just kept thinking, like, what's going on? And
31:03
I should say around this time too, someone
31:06
my air conditioner is in the front of my house
31:08
and is broken. It makes a lot of noise.
31:10
It makes a lot of noise. I get
31:12
a Grinder message from someone with no profile,
31:16
zero feed away that just says, Wow,
31:19
your ac is really loud. What
31:21
yeah? And then he blocks me. And
31:23
the thing is is is a horror
31:26
felt for those of you who don't know
31:28
about Grinder or some of these apps.
31:30
The geolocation is not that
31:33
specifically. He had to
31:35
know I was in that house,
31:37
and it's not that easy to discern
31:40
on grinder, Like you
31:42
can be zero feet away from somebody, but that doesn't
31:44
mean you know which house they're in, right,
31:46
right.
31:47
Like if you're in a big hotel, yeah, check
31:49
ground.
31:49
There's like to if you're connected to the same Wi
31:51
Fi network, oftentimes it'll be like your
31:54
zero feet away from somebody, and like it doesn't
31:56
give you that like specific
31:59
instructions. That's the movie Scream
32:01
but no, and that
32:03
that is why I have the baseball bat. Because my partner
32:06
is like terrified because like you know,
32:08
like listen, I've said some incendiary things
32:10
online. I am not the most popular
32:13
person online in certain circles, and
32:16
you know, it was just so weird and specifically
32:19
you're, wow, your air condition is real
32:21
loud and very scarry. So
32:24
onwards too, the real meat of the story.
32:26
So little things are happening
32:28
and we're like, whatever, this
32:31
is normal stuff that's happening.
32:34
I'm in the basement. I'm doing laundry.
32:36
The washer dryer is right in front of
32:39
the door, okay, and I'm
32:41
changing over the laundry from the washer
32:43
to the dryer. And I turn around as
32:45
I'm changing the laundry and a
32:48
man walks by the door.
32:50
I am talking like I thought
32:53
there was a man in my house.
32:55
He walked very fast by the door.
32:58
I made a noise. My partner,
33:00
he was like, I have never heard you make
33:02
a noise even close to
33:05
the noise that you just made. Like
33:08
it was a genuine like
33:12
he said, it was kind of funny because
33:14
like he wasn't sure if it was
33:16
real or not, because it was like a very deep
33:19
masculine screen and you'd
33:21
think, you think with me that, like
33:23
my natural inclination and fear would
33:25
be like, yeah, you know,
33:28
but it was much more.
33:29
Like, oh, okay, that was hot.
33:31
Yeah I know. But he came
33:33
running downstairs and I was like, did you see
33:35
him? Did you see him?
33:38
And he was like, what are you talking about? Because he walked
33:40
towards our bathroom, which is a dead end. And
33:42
I was like, John Michael,
33:44
I swear to you, I am not making
33:47
this up to scare you. There was a
33:49
man in our house. Just now,
33:52
like, straight up, there was a man in our
33:54
house. And I will never
33:56
forget the image of this for the rest
33:58
of my life. He was where exactly
34:01
what Ralph was wearing in the picture,
34:03
like a flannel like jeans
34:05
and a flannel like again similar to
34:07
my dad, like a work shirt and
34:09
like jeans and boots
34:11
and like I mean, I it was quick.
34:14
So like I can't say for certain that it's
34:16
exactly the same thing that Ralph
34:18
was wearing in the photo, but it was close enough.
34:20
It's like something he was.
34:22
It was something he it was definitely something
34:24
he would have worn. And I will say this,
34:27
I did not get malevolence
34:29
from this presence. It was just
34:31
shocking to me. I
34:34
just felt like he was there, you
34:36
know, and from that point forward,
34:39
we were on the lookout.
34:41
In your opinion, do you think
34:43
that that goes back to what we were talking about
34:45
earlier, with a ghost that doesn't realize
34:47
there a ghost.
34:48
It's just like I don't think he realizes he's
34:50
a ghost, Okay. I think that this was such
34:52
a labor of love for him, that building
34:55
this house. I think he was an immigrant. I think
34:57
from what Miriam has told me, I I
35:00
think this was like a dream of his to build
35:02
this house. And he finally, after
35:05
many years, after much
35:07
saving, was able to build his own
35:09
house in Hollywood,
35:12
in California. And I did
35:14
that.
35:14
I would not leave right exactly.
35:16
I would say I paid this money. I don't
35:18
care if I'm living or dead, I'm gonna
35:20
be in this damn house. So now
35:22
here's one more thing I want to put out. Though, because
35:25
of remodeling and stuff. I bet you
35:27
you said that was a dead end. It probably wasn't a
35:29
dead end in his mind. He's
35:31
just going, Oh my god, you're right.
35:34
Yeah, that's why I do what
35:36
I do.
35:37
That's interesting, that's really interesting. I hadn't even
35:39
thought about that. So
35:41
that happened John Michael
35:44
a little like suspicious sort
35:46
of like what how much did
35:48
you smoke? Like? What sativa? Were
35:50
you? What? What was the strain, bab what
35:52
was the strain? You know? Like, and
35:55
he doesn't necessarily believe me. And
35:57
then a couple months later after that,
36:00
I get home, I think
36:02
John Michael's home. Did he
36:04
goes in the office like twice a week, so like it's
36:06
it's never and it's never regular, So I always
36:09
just assume that he's home when I come home and
36:11
I'm standing in the kitchen and I'm going through my
36:13
mail, and I feel,
36:16
and I swear to God, this was not a muscle
36:18
spasm, This was not a
36:20
cramp. I feel someone come
36:22
up behind me and grab me right
36:25
here on the side on like where
36:27
like a love handle exist.
36:30
I wasn't Joe kam booth
36:32
right grab me fully,
36:35
and I thought it was John Michael sneaking up
36:37
on me to surprise me. But
36:39
I was completely alone. I
36:42
was like freaking out in like
36:44
close to tears honestly because I was
36:46
like, I don't know, and again,
36:49
no malevolence, just
36:51
like someone trying to be like, hey, I'm.
36:53
Here, but still there's a way to
36:55
do it.
36:56
I know. And I'm also like, don't touch me. That's
36:58
don't touch me.
37:00
My biggest problem with ghosts. They don't ask
37:02
for consent. Nope, and and the touching
37:04
is my biggest Yeah, I don't want
37:07
that, don't like that, didn't appreciate
37:09
that. And then this started
37:11
happening, which is when we really
37:13
got concerned because up
37:17
until this point, John Michael had not really experienced
37:19
any of these things, like he'd experienced
37:21
like things that shouldn't have fallen, falling
37:24
things like that. But again, he's
37:26
a much more like logically.
37:28
Minded, like you know, computer
37:31
brain person, and
37:34
so he was not on the ghost train
37:36
at all. And then suddenly,
37:38
like every once in a while I
37:41
would be downstairs in like my office
37:43
or in the bedroom and I would hear someone
37:46
run across the living room. Okay,
37:49
I like when ghosts run run
37:51
across the living room, and I thought it was John
37:53
Michael. And then I
37:56
like started noticing it would happen
37:58
when he wasn't home or when he was like in
38:00
the same room as me, and I was like, babe, did you hear
38:02
that? And he was like yeah, And that's when i'd
38:04
like get the bat because I assumed
38:07
someone was in our fucking house. And
38:10
then I was gone. I was doing work
38:12
somewhere and John
38:14
Michael was home alone, sitting in the living
38:17
room. I don't know if
38:19
he was watching TV or what happened,
38:21
but he heard someone
38:23
run across the room in the
38:26
same way that we've heard several
38:28
times. But he was in
38:30
the room. He was
38:33
in the room, and he could hear the person
38:35
very clearly run in front of him
38:38
across the room, the same path that
38:40
we had been hearing for like
38:43
weeks or months at this point. Yeah,
38:46
and that's when he got really freaked out. That's
38:48
when he finally became a believer because
38:50
he was like a little bit,
38:52
a little bit because I felt a little justified.
38:54
I felt a little justified and so it
38:57
was time to do something. And what I
39:00
decided to do was this because I have a couple
39:02
of friends who as a joke
39:04
gift several years ago, I think during
39:07
probably lockdown, my friend got
39:10
my other friend a certificate for this
39:12
woman who's a ghostbuster, professional ghostbuster
39:15
to ghostbust his house. She does certificates,
39:18
she does gift certificates. I need to do that, Yeah
39:20
you do. She does it all remotely
39:23
from Florida, does
39:25
not come to your house, does not zoom
39:27
with you, just talks to you, doesn't
39:30
ask for a picture of your house. Okay,
39:32
she just knows. She's just into
39:35
it.
39:35
Okay, this is great. I'm I'm over
39:37
here at scheme made And of course, like this
39:39
all.
39:40
Start is a little bit of a joke. This all started
39:42
is a little bit of a joke, like, oh, this woman, Like.
39:44
But did a friend go to her? Where
39:46
does she come from?
39:47
She? I don't know how she was discovered
39:49
originally, but my friend
39:52
was given the gift card for her and
39:54
he used her first and like we
39:56
joke, joke, joke, joke, joke because they're like
39:58
when she did his house and some
40:01
of your listeners might know who I'm talking about I'm
40:03
not going to name names, but this has been told on
40:05
his podcast and other podcasts. But
40:08
like there was a ghost trial happening
40:10
in his house that she was aware of. There,
40:15
you know, like someone was being put on trial
40:17
by other ghosts. There was a ghost jury.
40:20
Wait, what was this? What you don't want to
40:22
say that, but they said it on their podcast.
40:25
It was Brian Sofie.
40:26
Okay, I've talked to him about his ghosts. I never heard
40:28
about the ghost trial.
40:30
Yeah, well, talk to him about the ghost trial. And
40:34
of course another friend of mine
40:37
uses the same woman again
40:39
sort of as a joke, but this is a thing like
40:41
her son would not
40:44
sleep in his room
40:46
three years old, would not sleep in his room, said
40:48
there's something in that room. I will not
40:50
go near it. Please do not make
40:52
me go in that room. And she like
40:55
start like whatever, She let him sleep
40:57
wherever he wanted. And then suddenly
41:00
like she mentions it to her nanny,
41:02
who's Hispanic or Latino,
41:05
and she was like, oh, yeah, yeah, the devil's room.
41:09
I like put a glass of water in
41:11
that room, Like I don't go in that room. I don't go
41:14
in that room. There's evil in that room.
41:17
And then another friend mentioned that
41:19
like they had walked by that room and someone had
41:21
tried to pull them into that room. Oh my
41:23
god, and so she
41:25
used this woman hang on. So
41:28
the devil, the one that
41:30
we've heard about all these years, is
41:32
in a child's bedroom. I don't know if it
41:34
was Florida the devil. I don't know if it was the no
41:37
no, And this is not in Florida. This is in La.
41:39
Oh that makes sense.
41:41
She does it remotely from Florida.
41:43
Her work goes so, but
41:45
it's all in La got
41:48
it. Child goes in the room and
41:50
says, all right, it's good,
41:52
but you need to tell her to get the vent too, and
41:56
get the vent. And but
41:58
what is she doing like remotely,
42:02
she's doing a lot of things. Okay,
42:04
and I'll read you. I'm trying to find the receipt
42:06
the breakdown.
42:08
That she's like a menu
42:10
of different events arise.
42:15
Let me see if I can find it. Honestly,
42:21
I kind of I don't know. I believe
42:23
it, Okay, So this is I'm going to read you just the
42:25
receipt that she gave me after she did my home.
42:27
Okay, So this is the basic breakdown.
42:30
Remove the following possessions from
42:33
each of you. Joel forty six,
42:35
John Michael forty eight. Two
42:37
more possessions than I had.
42:39
Oh that's how many possessions?
42:40
Yeah, I don't. I don't know why he got
42:42
two more possessions than I did.
42:44
Are you a little jealous?
42:45
A little jealous?
42:46
Yeah? Like what's wrong with me?
42:47
I know exactly what's wrong. Like, look
42:49
at the material. Honestly,
42:53
maybe race based, but I'm
42:56
not going to go there, dumb. None
42:59
were demonic type energies, more
43:02
like ghost energies. So that's nice.
43:04
That's nice to hear that.
43:05
We weren't forty eight people.
43:07
Yeah, now here's this would be my problem.
43:09
I go, is one of them funny?
43:11
Because if you take that out, I
43:13
need that, I
43:16
know, bring her back, bring
43:18
her back, And it is a her. The
43:20
funny one was a her.
43:22
Course of course, we know that.
43:24
Okay, remove twenty
43:26
eight discarnate energies from your house
43:28
again, ghost type energies. I
43:31
have fully cleared the property. And then
43:33
here's the rest of the receipt. Okay. Other
43:36
energies, including various portals,
43:39
are covered below. All
43:41
negative energies were removed or fixed
43:43
in some way as no longer affect
43:45
the property. Six negative portals
43:47
cleared and closed if inside, cleared
43:49
and left open if outside. Two
43:52
portals to the underworld closed and sealed.
43:54
One intergalactic hole blocked.
43:57
Twenty five ceialing portals closed. One
44:00
mirror portal in the primary bedroom
44:02
closed. Which I do have a mirror,
44:05
a big mirror in the primary bedroom, and
44:08
we did have weird
44:11
instances with it. So I'll say that she
44:13
didn't see an I'll give her that. I'll give
44:15
her that she doesn't even she doesn't even have a picture of
44:17
my house. Okay, she didn't even have a fucking
44:19
picture. She might have looked it up on zillow,
44:22
but like, that's it. The
44:24
closet seems to have two very large mirrors
44:26
on it, mirrors both projecting
44:28
out into a space and reflect back what's
44:31
going on in a space. I often recommend
44:33
to change out the close the closet
44:35
mirror doors for something non reflective
44:37
and find another location for a mirror that helps
44:39
you dress. Okay. Eight negative vortices
44:42
with one matrix card cleared and turned
44:44
positive. Dimensional energy is removed,
44:47
one plugged lay line cleared, One
44:50
non beneficial geopathic zone neutralized.
44:53
Twenty eight interference lines blocked,
44:55
three energy walls removed, dark
44:57
blobs removed, one all
45:00
dark being removed.
45:02
But what she took your dark blobs.
45:04
She took the blobs, She took the blobs,
45:07
she took it all.
45:07
She took your blobs in her intergalactic
45:10
hole.
45:10
Yeah, but one
45:12
tall dark being removed, which
45:15
is notable. The
45:18
possessions targets. We
45:20
each had targets on us from the underworld.
45:23
I had twenty one targets on me again.
45:25
John Michael had twenty four targets on him.
45:27
They love him.
45:28
I don't get it.
45:30
What do you mean you're engaged to this person?
45:32
I know, but like, why
45:34
not me? Anyways, And
45:36
then we were tagged as well, and
45:39
I had thirty six tags removed. John Michael
45:41
had thirty nine tags.
45:42
What does that mean? Tag?
45:43
Donna couldn't tell you? And
45:45
I have added for clarification. I've I've texted
45:48
her and asked for clarification,
45:50
I have yet to receive. I need
45:52
to follow up, and I should have done that before I came in
45:54
here to figure out what some of these things mean. So
45:58
she does this and does this, and
46:00
then you're allowed one more
46:02
follow up, Okay, if in case
46:05
she misses something a tune up, you
46:07
know, set, hence the like she needs to get
46:09
the vent too right, which
46:11
I will say, my friend with that son, he sleeps
46:13
in that room. It's all fine and gravy now, But
46:16
here's the rub. Okay,
46:18
here is the rub. We have not
46:21
heard nor seen Ralph.
46:23
The footsteps are gone. I have not seen
46:26
the presence. I have not even felt a presence. I
46:28
do feel later in my house. It's weird.
46:30
It's weird. I do feel more comfortable
46:32
in my house alone at night. It's strange,
46:35
but my boyfriend has
46:38
had many reoccurring
46:41
dreams of a man standing
46:43
just outside in our backyard.
46:46
So our our primary bedroom
46:48
has these like sliding glass doors that lead
46:50
out to our backyard, and my
46:52
boyfriend has had many dreams
46:55
of a man that, as described
46:57
to me, sounds like the same man.
46:59
That I saw walk the hallway flannel.
47:02
Standing in the middle of our yard, or
47:04
standing right up against the door as
47:07
though he's trying to get back in.
47:09
Yes, she probably was like, you gotta go outside,
47:11
but you know he's so he's still
47:14
a ghost.
47:14
Yeah, I mean he's still and now he's probably pissed
47:17
at us because he's just got the fucking
47:19
yard, and boy, ol boy, when we put a pool in,
47:21
he's gonna be furious.
47:25
Now, Okay, just because
47:27
I have a lot of people that are very into
47:29
the stuff that listen to this podcast, they're
47:31
gonna be like, you know, you
47:34
got rid of this ghost and he wasn't
47:36
doing anything wrong or whatever.
47:38
My personal opinion, whoever's paying
47:41
the bills is the one in charge
47:43
of who's gonna be in my house.
47:45
I had the same concern too, because I explained
47:47
to her, I said, listen, I'm not getting
47:49
malevolence. It's not giving malevolence. Okay,
47:52
Like it's creepy, it's uncomfortable,
47:55
but like whatever, and
47:57
she was like, I am simply setting him
48:00
free, Like I am like releasing
48:02
him from this loop. Like I think
48:04
she probably is more on the side
48:06
of the debunker that I mentioned at the
48:08
top, where it was like, he just has this
48:11
deep connection to this house because he loved this
48:13
house and he doesn't even know he's dead. Yeah.
48:15
See that's the thing. This scenario
48:17
seems like the residual
48:20
haunting. It's just he's running, he's
48:23
walking where there used to not be a dead end.
48:25
He's grabbing at my love handles, you
48:27
know, like, but she
48:31
like assured me that
48:33
she was simply setting him free from the cycle
48:35
of this home. And so I
48:38
hope that is the case. And I hope that my
48:40
boyfriend's dreams are not indicative
48:44
of this man
48:47
trying to get back
48:49
into the house.
48:50
Are you gonna tell her you got to get the backyard?
48:53
I actually might, I actually might follow up
48:55
with her. It's been a minute. I might. I might miss
48:58
my window, and but I might pay for it
49:00
again. Listen, And I'm
49:02
not gonna tell you how much I paid for this woman.
49:05
I'm not gonna tell you, but
49:07
let me tell you. Uh.
49:10
It is one of those yeah, I've made it
49:12
moments because I
49:14
could afford to do something almost
49:17
as a bit like because
49:19
I could have had you do the word.
49:21
But it worked. See now, I can never promise
49:24
anybody that I'm gonna help anything, right. I
49:26
just want the content right right
49:28
at the end of the day, I want to get a go
49:30
And why.
49:31
Do you think we did this too? Like I wanted
49:33
the receipt. I wanted to see the receipt and
49:35
see how many stories, see
49:38
how many blobs she removed, et cetera,
49:40
et cetera. But
49:42
like she's helped my friend in
49:45
an immeasurable way. The
49:48
sun sleeps in the room now, you know, you
49:50
can't explain it, like the dog is not freaking
49:52
out about the room anymore. It's very strange.
49:55
It's very unusual, Like
49:58
we always want a professional
50:00
to help us with a specific problem that we don't
50:03
understand, whether it's like a health problem or a
50:05
legal problem, whatever it is. But when you have a
50:08
ghost, you're like, who do I turn to? And there's
50:10
various ways. You can go the priest
50:12
route, you can go the blob removal whatever
50:14
it is. And since
50:16
we don't know how all this works, I do think
50:18
some of it is like a it has
50:20
some connection to our brain. It seems I don't
50:23
know what it is whatever. But I
50:25
really think like if it would make
50:27
me feel better to pay someone to
50:30
just be like it's gone now, I would probably
50:32
believe that.
50:33
Well, no, and this is my this is this
50:36
is sort of a theory
50:39
or a framework that I've stolen from my boyfriend,
50:41
which I believe really truly, which
50:43
is both astrology and
50:45
say taro for instance. I
50:48
don't think there's any intrinsic magic
50:50
in either of those things. But if it
50:52
gives you a framework to look
50:54
at your life and it helps you in some
50:56
way. Then hell yeah, pull
50:59
your Tarot card every day because it does.
51:01
Like that's all it is. It's just it's
51:03
just giving you a framework to look at
51:05
your life and process your life and
51:08
maybe don't make any like major
51:10
decisions based on you know, pulling
51:13
the six of cups cart that day.
51:16
But it does, Like every time that I've
51:18
had my Tarot red it just
51:20
makes me think about a situation in my life
51:22
in a much different way. And that alone
51:25
is helpful, and so like you know,
51:27
and and it's I think it's similar in
51:30
this way. I mean, I spend a lot more money
51:32
than I needed to to get that sort of relief, but
51:34
like it is psychological,
51:36
and I do think that psychologically, I
51:39
feel less scared in my home alone.
51:41
Now hell yeah, we're
51:43
crystals too, are like another one where
51:45
I'm like, first of all, they're gorgeous. Yeah,
51:48
if you want to tell me that this, you know
51:50
I have, this is going to keep a demon away?
51:53
Yes, I'd rather
51:55
have it.
51:56
Yeah, exactly, what's the worst that can
51:58
happen? Oh?
51:59
I have a pretty rock Yeah, who gives
52:01
a shit?
52:02
It's best case scenario, it keeps
52:04
the demon out. Worst case scenario, you
52:06
have a beautiful rock and the demon would
52:08
have got you. Anyways, there you go.
52:11
Now, it's interesting that you had a
52:13
crystal magnet.
52:15
That's amethyst. Yeah.
52:18
I theorize maybe
52:22
he was looking for a threutle.
52:26
Yeah, because you know what, That's what I never got
52:29
clear from Miriam was if
52:31
Ralph was ever married or had a family. I don't
52:34
think he did. I don't think he did,
52:36
and I don't think he was able to pass down the house
52:39
to anyone if
52:41
I if I remember the story.
52:43
Correctly, eligible bachelor.
52:46
Yeah, coming out behind the house
52:48
was his family.
52:50
And I kicked him.
52:54
No, I feel kind of guilty.
52:56
You didn't kick him out, You just made him
52:58
really backyard.
52:59
Yeah, released him to the backyard.
53:02
Released him to the backyard. He's an outdoor cat.
53:04
Now, let the coyotes deal
53:06
with him.
53:08
But you know, he might have wanted
53:11
he might have wanted, you know, to
53:13
join the relationship.
53:16
And you know what, if I got a better look at.
53:17
Him, That's that's the thing.
53:20
It's all marketing. It's just like dating
53:22
apps. You have to put your
53:24
best foot forward or I'm gonna swipe
53:27
I will swipe you out of here and put you in the backyard.
53:30
But when you were
53:32
in this situation where you like, I
53:35
want this ghost gone, or
53:37
were you just like trying to figure it out?
53:39
Like I mean, I think
53:41
for us at first it was much
53:43
more about like, what is happening
53:46
and is this Ralph right?
53:49
Like are we wrong? Because that was the
53:51
other thing, like we were like Ralph
53:53
made the most sense, you know,
53:55
based on the pictures, that's based
53:58
on the bill.
53:58
You know for sure that it was Ralph exactly.
54:01
You don't know that exactly.
54:03
And this it could be these
54:05
damn portals and blobs and.
54:07
Whatever lay lines and things like
54:09
that whole My friends, she said
54:11
that she got a unicorn out of her
54:14
house and a dragon out of her
54:16
house.
54:17
You know what, for everyone,
54:19
a.
54:20
Mother dragon was removed from
54:22
her house.
54:23
Now, who was that ghost? Someone
54:25
that was Game of Thrones, an
54:28
old dragon that was out of work, that died
54:30
in that house.
54:31
Dragon's gonna be in houses, I know. I just
54:35
yeah, I think I'm like, I'm I'm
54:37
better safe than sorry. Yes, you know,
54:39
especially now that he's appearing to my boyfriend
54:41
in dreams. I'm sort of like, okay,
54:44
but I also want to say emotional cheating. Yeah,
54:47
seriously, fuck him if you want him,
54:50
but just like.
54:51
About him every night when I'm right next to you, Chapel
54:55
Roone. You know, people, people
54:58
are freaky when you're in the public and
55:01
to have to always be on guard
55:04
in your own home that you pay for
55:07
and you're hearing people running in your house,
55:09
yeah, and you're seeing strange men in
55:12
your basement. I don't blame
55:14
you for wanting to and that.
55:16
That's the number of times I ran upstairs
55:19
because I thought my boyfriend was home and
55:21
like running across the living room floor
55:23
and no one was there.
55:25
No, when not when it's your home.
55:27
Yeah, it was crazy. I am so glad
55:29
I was not there to witness
55:32
the running in the same room.
55:34
That is that would have I think
55:37
that would have I mean seeing I saw
55:39
him, so like, I still think I win
55:41
a little bit, But like I
55:44
think, like if I was in that room
55:46
and I heard someone that I could not
55:48
see run across the room, it
55:51
would have ruined me. We would have had to move.
55:54
I hate that. Yeah,
55:56
Joe, Yeah, can I show you
55:59
a haunted doll?
56:00
You can? You certainly can? I Oh,
56:02
I fucking hate this shit.
56:04
Oh, it's fun the way I do it.
56:07
It's time for a segment I like to call the
56:09
dolls are living.
56:13
So what I do is I go to eBay
56:16
dot com and I type in
56:18
the words haunted doll. Surprisingly,
56:20
actually not surprisingly, this was not gonna be surprising
56:23
to you, especially after that
56:25
invoice you just told me about. But
56:27
there are thousands of haunted
56:30
dolls that people are selling
56:32
for money online. And
56:35
the great thing about them they always have pictures,
56:38
and they have bios,
56:40
and the bios usually
56:43
the belief is when you die,
56:46
your choices are heaven hell haunted
56:48
e Bay doll. Okay, that's
56:51
what I think. That's how I interpret this. And
56:53
so this is a person that was
56:56
once living now somehow is
56:58
in this haunted doll. Okay, do you like
57:00
my Liberaci doll?
57:01
By the way, now, dude, he has
57:03
been giving me the
57:07
vibe the whole time.
57:08
But yeah, well let's talk about he's
57:10
saying room for one more okay,
57:14
uh jeeha. Can you please show
57:16
us Emma you got it?
57:18
Ros Emma is currently going for seventy
57:21
dollars. WHOA, that's
57:23
Emma. She's she might
57:25
not be what you were expecting, because.
57:27
Usually expecting at all.
57:29
We are usually expecting lots
57:31
of you know, ruffles and lace, kind
57:34
of medieval. Now, this lady,
57:37
this appears to be an older
57:40
woman.
57:40
I saw her on the bus recently. She
57:44
lives in La like she does
57:47
look like. First of all, she's very
57:49
uh liberal. Oh she is
57:52
the head of the h OA like she
57:56
is.
57:58
I think paper mache.
58:00
She just appears to be an
58:03
older woman.
58:04
Beautiful green eyes, gorgeous,
58:07
beautiful green eyes.
58:08
I like this kind of woman.
58:10
Actually, are you too? And you know she
58:12
wears a mask outside too, Yeah,
58:15
you know she's still masking outside.
58:17
Absolutely, and she is. She's
58:20
got she's.
58:21
Clutching a ticket. She's clutching
58:23
a ticket to the Hollywood Bowl where she wore
58:25
a mask outside.
58:27
To see who probably,
58:30
Oh my god, it is a ticket.
58:32
What is that? Jimmy Buffett,
58:35
Jimmy Buffett. I bet she's
58:37
a parrot head. This woman is a parrot
58:39
head. I believe she has a Kamala
58:41
sign in her front yard.
58:43
Yeah. Oh death death.
58:46
Oh, she's got a little feet.
58:48
She's got she looks like she has compression.
58:50
Sucks definitely, she
58:52
just got off a plane. She needs.
58:54
This is where I'm like, what is the story
58:56
of this was this someone's art project, Like,
58:58
I don't know what.
59:00
This is based off of a person. I
59:02
think this was a doll meant
59:04
to look like a very specific person
59:07
and they gifted it to her. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
59:09
And I think the ticket, and I think the hat,
59:12
and I think all of the little details the green
59:14
eyes green is not an eye
59:16
color that is often picked first
59:19
for a doll like this. I
59:21
think these are very specific details and they were
59:23
meant for a specific person.
59:25
And she does have a big hat
59:27
with flowers on it. I love this
59:29
woman. I can't wait for the day
59:31
that I am this woman. Yeah,
59:34
okay, So Emma has
59:36
a pretty short bio. It
59:39
just says Emma is a very special
59:41
haunted vessel. She comes
59:43
from a friend of mine who claimed.
59:44
She was evil. Oh.
59:46
Since bringing her into the home, I do
59:49
hear bangs every now and then,
59:52
but I have mostly had good
59:54
luck with her. Yes, you
59:56
still hear weird stuff around her, but
1:00:00
that's what haunted items usually
1:00:02
come with, so be careful.
1:00:05
And it says in all caps, I do not know
1:00:07
if this is absolutely
1:00:10
a positive spirit. Well,
1:00:12
yeah, that's fair.
1:00:13
I mean, we why would you never want to invite
1:00:15
that into your home.
1:00:17
I just don't understand loneliness.
1:00:20
It really does seem like someone who is
1:00:22
like, let's lay a match, baby, let's
1:00:25
light a match. You see it burn?
1:00:28
You know, like nothing else going on, might
1:00:31
as well have a little adventure.
1:00:33
And you're taking a gamble. Yeah, it's
1:00:35
you never know what you're going to get. It
1:00:37
really is so similar to online dating
1:00:40
and all of that, Like you just don't
1:00:42
know if it's going to be a horrible,
1:00:45
horrible experience or.
1:00:47
You're just gonna hear a couple of bumps and noises
1:00:49
and it'll be weird.
1:00:50
Yeah, or are you going to get that into
1:00:53
galactic hole removed? So
1:00:56
anyway, that's Emma seventy dollars for
1:00:58
anyone in the market. Okay,
1:01:00
let's do one more thing. Can I
1:01:02
play you some ghost voices?
1:01:04
Please?
1:01:05
It's time for EVP
1:01:09
or ev please
1:01:13
EVP Electronic Voice Phenomenal.
1:01:15
It's when people
1:01:17
believe they've captured a ghosts familiar.
1:01:20
I've gotten some of those on my talk boy
1:01:23
and you know what, do you know what talk boy
1:01:25
is?
1:01:26
Talk boy?
1:01:26
Yeah? How old are you?
1:01:28
According to Wikipedia, I'm a few years younger
1:01:31
than you.
1:01:31
Yeah, so you might have just missed it. Do
1:01:34
you know the movie Home Alone?
1:01:37
I think my parents want fuck you?
1:01:39
Okay, anyway,
1:01:42
anyway, it's the thing that he uses
1:01:44
to record the voices and then you can distort
1:01:46
the voices. Blah blah blah. We used to think that we
1:01:48
could capture voices on that. Ghosts
1:01:51
on that a lot.
1:01:53
Yeah, okay,
1:01:56
I've got two of them for you. They were posted
1:01:58
on YouTube and it was
1:02:00
sort of like a compilation video
1:02:03
that was this group that has like
1:02:05
just a bunch of different ghosts, like, oh, here's
1:02:07
some of our best ones. And the group
1:02:09
is called Entity Encounters
1:02:12
and it's at various locations. What
1:02:14
does this one say, Joe Cam booster.
1:02:21
It one time? One more time? I
1:02:27
hear I honestly,
1:02:30
I honestly hear like
1:02:32
a ghost that's singing along
1:02:34
to Charlie XCX ride you
1:02:39
hear it?
1:02:41
Yeah?
1:02:41
I do give that he's he's having
1:02:43
a brat summer.
1:02:48
That's very likely. That
1:02:50
is not what Entity Encounters believed.
1:02:52
Okay, what did they think.
1:02:54
I'm gonna give you, abc D. Did they think
1:02:56
it was a
1:02:58
raw please? Maybe
1:03:01
they were what kind of sushi you want? I
1:03:03
don't want that tempora? Did
1:03:06
they think it was b robbery
1:03:09
okay, C probably
1:03:14
or D Paula Dean.
1:03:17
I think robbery.
1:03:18
Okay, let me play it again.
1:03:23
You are correct.
1:03:24
Okay, that is what Entity Encounters
1:03:26
heard. They heard robbery.
1:03:30
I feel very proud of myself.
1:03:31
It's very good. Well, you're experienced in this.
1:03:34
You've you've you've lived in with
1:03:36
a ghost that is now in your backyard.
1:03:40
Okay, what is this one saying?
1:03:42
Uh?
1:03:43
Same people posted it. I don't know where.
1:03:48
Mmm. Okay, one more time I
1:03:54
hear do you guys swear?
1:03:58
Do you guys swear? But
1:04:01
what do you think that means? Like do you say naughty
1:04:03
words?
1:04:03
Or do you no? Yeah, I
1:04:05
think it's I think it's a person begging
1:04:09
like their last I think
1:04:11
it's their last words, like this
1:04:13
isn't gonna hurt? Do you guys
1:04:15
swear?
1:04:17
And then that's what I died. That's
1:04:20
scary. Not
1:04:23
what they thought.
1:04:24
Oh fuck?
1:04:25
Did they think it was a it's
1:04:28
good to sweat?
1:04:30
Mm hmmm?
1:04:31
Did they think it was b I
1:04:33
gotta say, ce
1:04:37
go this way? Or
1:04:39
do baby? You were born this way?
1:04:42
Can I hear it one more time? Oh?
1:04:44
My god? Absolutely go
1:04:48
this way? Joe
1:04:50
Cambister two for two, Yes,
1:04:53
perfect record.
1:04:57
I've got a great ear for talent. You
1:05:00
after all in the in the lounge,
1:05:03
singing, singing on top of that piano,
1:05:05
and now look at you now, I will say.
1:05:08
You are one of the few that
1:05:11
has always been very kind
1:05:13
and encouraging to me.
1:05:15
Thank you, Rose. Well, it's you make it easy
1:05:17
because you're funny. So it's
1:05:19
like there
1:05:21
are plenty of people who make it difficult
1:05:23
to be supportive of.
1:05:25
Thank you.
1:05:26
There are many young queer comics
1:05:28
that I would love to be more supportive of.
1:05:32
You are so funny it
1:05:34
makes it very easy. Thank you.
1:05:38
Joe.
1:05:38
Tell us where people can find you and everything
1:05:41
you got going on.
1:05:42
So I should be already on tour by the
1:05:44
time you're hearing this. It's
1:05:47
a US Canada tour that goes all
1:05:49
the way through January. Go
1:05:51
to linktree dot com, slash Ihlkim
1:05:53
or you can just go to my Instagram at ihl
1:05:56
kim. All the info is there.
1:05:58
And then also just announced I'm doing a
1:06:00
European leg of the tour as well in
1:06:03
December. Those dates were just announced as well.
1:06:05
I'm doing Paris, London, Amsterdam,
1:06:08
Berlin, and I
1:06:11
think somewhere else. But
1:06:14
yeah, I'm really excited. I have never done
1:06:17
other than London. I've never done in Europe, so I'm
1:06:19
a little nervous and I'm really excited.
1:06:22
Oh my god, Please, if you're listening
1:06:24
from any of those places, tell your friends buy
1:06:26
tickets, uh, et cetera,
1:06:28
et cetera. And I'm trying
1:06:30
to think if there's anything else that needs to be plucked,
1:06:32
but I don't think so.
1:06:34
But this has been great, Jill, this has been so
1:06:36
lovely.
1:06:36
I know that we've had to move this around a million times
1:06:38
because of both of us, but I'm so glad
1:06:40
that. I'm so glad that we got to be tactile.
1:06:43
I'm so glad that you had a ghost in your house.
1:06:45
Me too, because I've
1:06:48
never seen someone light up more than when
1:06:50
I mentioned I had a ghost in my house.
1:06:51
Oh my god. You don't know the
1:06:54
emails I've sent six years,
1:06:56
the people do you have you ever? Do you
1:06:58
know someone that had a ghost in
1:07:00
the house. Anything? And
1:07:02
to have somebody that I would want
1:07:04
on regardless that
1:07:07
moved into it was the perfect time. I'm
1:07:09
so glad you didn't come on back when I originally
1:07:12
asked you.
1:07:12
Oh, same same, I would. I don't know what
1:07:14
I would have talked about.
1:07:16
This is the moment that we needed because
1:07:18
because here's anything beginning middle end dream
1:07:22
for me, beginning middle end
1:07:25
ghost story. And I'm going to put
1:07:27
this in one of the top ghost
1:07:30
Story Guests episodes.
1:07:32
Can you do me an honor? You can do me an
1:07:34
honor?
1:07:34
Rose, Thank
1:07:38
you so much to joke him Booster.
1:07:41
What a dream guest. Go
1:07:43
check out everything he does. He's everywhere.
1:07:45
It would be harder to not see
1:07:48
him doing what he does because
1:07:50
he does it so much, and he does it so
1:07:53
well, and he does it all over the place.
1:07:56
I love you and I'm so
1:07:58
happy you're listening. It's Halloween
1:08:00
week. Be safe out there,
1:08:03
kids, dress up, wear
1:08:05
a costume. I'm giving you
1:08:07
permission. Don't buy a store
1:08:09
bought costume. Do some arts
1:08:11
and crafts, do a quick little Joe
1:08:13
Anne visit, Go to Michael's. I
1:08:16
know the line's gonna be long, but wait
1:08:19
it out. You're gonna be so grateful you
1:08:21
did, cause the next next
1:08:23
October people are gonna be like, oh, what
1:08:26
have you dressed like for Halloween? And then you're gonna
1:08:28
be like, well, when I was a kid, No, you want
1:08:30
to go, oh my god, last year it
1:08:32
was iconic. I was the lady
1:08:34
from Chimp Crazy or whatever you decide.
1:08:37
Just I highly recommend
1:08:39
you dress up and treat yourself
1:08:42
to lots of candy and a horror
1:08:44
movie The Haunted Doll
1:08:47
on YouTube and this podcast.
1:08:50
I love you all, both living and
1:08:53
dead. But if I didn't ask you.
1:08:55
To haunt me, don't haunt me came
1:08:58
back.
1:09:05
This has been an exactly right production.
