Ty Burr is a film critic, columnist, and author. Currently, he writes a film and popular culture newsletter "Ty Burr's Watchlist" on Substack.Previously, Burr was the film critic at The Boston Globe for two decades, until his retirement in 2021. He was a senior writer at Entertainment Weekly, and before that, he was a programmer for HBO.Burr's first book, "The Hundred Greatest Stars of All Time," was published in 1999. He has published four non-fiction books about films.
