With the growth of the Frankish state, the elements of the Dark Middle Ages settled in written history. The sources are scarce, or mostly dated some centuries after the fact. They are written by Christian monks and priests, who tend to be a little too pious and biased. But with the constant growth of the Frankish Kingdom (minus the civil wars) the conflict between the Franco-Latin culture and the Germanic culture clash, which makes the time all the more interesting!
