1:41

1:44

out. I like to start with something funny

1:46

each week, and I heard about this elderly lady.

1:48

She came into church one Sunday morning, and the

1:50

friendly usher greeted her and said, ma 'am, where

1:52

would you like to sit? She said, I

1:54

would like to sit on the very front row.

1:56

He said, oh no, ma 'am, you don't want

1:58

to do that. Our pastor is very boring. He'll

2:00

put you to sleep. Let me seat

2:02

you somewhere else. She was appalled. She

2:04

said, sir, do you know who I

2:06

am? He said, no. She said, I

2:08

am the pastor's mother. He

2:11

hung his head in embarrassment finally he

2:13

looked up and said ma 'am. Do

2:15

you know who I am? She said

2:18

no. He said thank God All right

2:21

hold up your Bible say it like

2:23

you mean it this is my Bible I

2:25

am what it says I am

2:27

I have what it says I

2:29

have I can do what it

2:31

says I can do today I

2:33

will be taught the Word of

2:35

God I boldly confess my mind

2:37

is alert and heart is receptive,

2:39

I will never be the same.

2:41

In Jesus' name, God bless you.

2:44

I wanna talk to you today about

2:46

getting up so God can bring you

2:49

out. Life has a way

2:51

of pushing people down. We

2:53

all go through disappointments and setbacks,

2:55

and sometimes unfair things

2:57

happen. A relationship doesn't

2:59

work out. A friend betrays

3:01

us. Or maybe you worked real

3:03

hard, but you didn't get the

3:05

position you deserved. Life is not

3:07

always fair. It's easy to

3:09

get discouraged and lose our joy,

3:11

lose our enthusiasm. And

3:14

if we're not careful, we'll develop the

3:16

wrong mindset. We'll think we'll

3:18

never rise any higher and we'll never

3:20

get out of this problem. We've had

3:22

so many unfair things happen to us.

3:24

But we have to realize, even though

3:26

life is not always fair,

3:28

God is fair. He

3:30

is a God of justice. He

3:33

sees every wrong that's ever been done

3:35

to you. He sees every person

3:37

that's ever hurt you, every

3:39

unfair situation. And the good

3:41

news is, if you will stay in faith

3:43

and not get bitter, God

3:45

has promised he will pay you

3:47

back for every injustice that's ever been done

3:49

to you. He said he would take

3:51

what was meant for your harm and

3:53

he'll turn it around and use it

3:55

to your advantage. And the

3:58

great thing about God is if you keep the

4:00

right attitude, he'll not only bring you

4:02

out, he'll bring you out better off

4:04

than you were before. He wants to

4:06

make the enemy pay for bringing that

4:08

trouble into your life. And I

4:10

know some of you have had unfair things

4:12

happen in your finances, in your health, in the

4:14

way you were raised. And it's easy to

4:16

get that chip on your shoulder and think, man,

4:19

why has this happened to me? But

4:21

instead of dwelling on your disappointments

4:23

and what didn't work out and who

4:25

hurt you, you need to draw

4:27

the line in the sand and say,

4:29

it's payback time. I have

4:31

rights and privileges because of who I

4:33

am. I am a child of the

4:35

most high God. And I may have

4:37

had unfair things happen, but I'm not

4:40

gonna live my life negative and defeated.

4:42

This is a new day and I'm

4:44

taking back what belongs to me. See,

4:46

we have to have this warrior mentality. We

4:49

have to dig our heels in and fight

4:51

the good fight of faith. Too

4:53

many people get stuck in a

4:55

rut. They went through a broken relationship.

4:57

They weren't raised in a healthy

4:59

environment. One of their dreams has died.

5:02

Now they've just settled where they are. It's

5:04

taken the wind out of their sail, and they think,

5:06

well, Joel, I had my chance, but I blew

5:08

it. Or I didn't get the break

5:10

that I really wanted. I guess this is just

5:13

my lot in life. But

5:15

no, God wants to restore everything

5:17

that's been stolen. He wants

5:19

to restore your joy, restore

5:21

your peace, restore your health, restore

5:23

your finances. But here's the

5:25

key. You have to get a

5:27

vision for it. You have to get your

5:29

hopes up. Get your thoughts and

5:32

words going in the right direction. We

5:34

can't just sit back and think, poor

5:36

old me, we need

5:38

to have a restoration mentality.

5:40

That means we get up

5:42

every morning hoping, expecting,

5:44

believing. We know

5:46

God's gonna pay us back. We know

5:48

good things are in store. I

5:51

talked to a young man a while back

5:53

and he told how growing up he was

5:55

passed from home to home. He didn't

5:57

know his parents. There wasn't any

5:59

stability, not any kind of family atmosphere.

6:02

Now he was bitter and negative,

6:04

blaming God, blaming other people. And

6:07

I told him what I'm telling you,

6:09

God wants to pay you back for

6:11

that injustice. He still has

6:13

a great plan for your life, but

6:15

you will never see it as long

6:17

as you're going around negative, bitter with

6:19

that chip on your shoulder. You

6:21

have to let it go. If you're

6:23

constantly dwelling on the breaks you

6:25

didn't get and what didn't work

6:27

out, you will develop a wrong

6:29

image on the inside. You

6:32

will start to see yourself as

6:34

a victim rather than a victor. You

6:37

may have had unfair things happen. People

6:39

may not have treated you fair, but

6:41

know this, you are still

6:43

the apple of God's

6:45

eye. You are still His

6:47

most prized possession and

6:49

no person No circumstance, no

6:52

unfair situation can keep

6:54

you from fulfilling your God

6:56

-given destiny. In fact, God

6:58

said in the book of Joel, I

7:00

will restore the years that

7:02

have been stolen. You may

7:05

have lost years in a relationship that

7:07

went sour, years working on

7:09

a job that you weren't treated right,

7:11

or like this young man, years

7:13

in a negative childhood. Well,

7:15

God wants to restore those years. He

7:17

wants to make that up to you,

7:19

why don't you get a vision for

7:21

it? Instead of giving up on

7:23

your dreams and thinking, I'll never be healthy

7:25

again. I'll never be happy again. No, you

7:27

need to rise up and say, I know

7:29

God has good things in store. He is

7:31

a God of justice and I believe my

7:33

payday is on its way. That's

7:35

how we activate God's power

7:38

by believing, by staying full

7:40

of expectancy. And some of

7:42

you today, you need to get your fire

7:44

back. Don't have a weak,

7:46

defeated mentality. When

7:48

trouble comes, be a warrior.

7:51

You may have been through a lot, but that's

7:53

the way you need to see it. I've been

7:55

through it. I'm not staying here. It's not gonna

7:57

change my image on the inside. I

8:00

know who I am, a child of Almighty

8:02

God. I am a victor, and I'm not

8:04

a victim. This is

8:06

what God told the children of Israel.

8:08

They'd been in slavery for years

8:10

and years. They were very mistreated and

8:12

forced to work in terrible conditions. And

8:15

God said to them there in Exodus

8:17

3 .17, I have promised

8:19

to bring you up out

8:21

of your misery. And

8:23

I believe there are two keys

8:25

to this promise, two words, up

8:27

and out. In other words,

8:29

you have to get up before God

8:31

can bring you out. Change

8:33

always starts on the

8:35

inside. And if you don't

8:37

do your part and get up in your

8:39

attitude, get up in your

8:42

hopes, in your expectations, in your

8:44

visions, then God can't turn

8:46

things around. There's an order

8:48

to it. God says, get up, expect

8:50

good things, stay full of hope,

8:52

then I can turn things around. And

8:54

understand, getting up is a choice. When you

8:57

wake up in the morning, you can think, man,

8:59

I don't wanna go to work today. My

9:01

back's still hurting. I don't know why all

9:03

these things have happened to me. Or you

9:05

can get up and say, this is gonna

9:07

be a great day. I have the favor

9:09

of God and something good is gonna happen

9:11

to me. If

9:14

you will start the day

9:16

In faith, with your hopes up full

9:18

of expectancy, that's when

9:20

God can turn around negative

9:22

situations. But how we approach life

9:24

is totally up to us. One man

9:26

wakes up and says, good morning, Lord. Another

9:29

man gets up and says, good Lord, it's morning. And

9:33

some of you, the only thing that's

9:35

keeping God from doing something new is you've

9:37

lost your enthusiasm. You've lost your fire. You

9:40

don't think it could ever change and

9:42

you could ever be healthy You

9:44

didn't get the break you wanted. You don't think

9:46

you'll ever get out of debt. No, you got

9:48

to get up on the inside. You're

9:50

waiting on God, but God's waiting on you. Hey,

9:53

you said, Joel, you just don't know my

9:55

situation. Maybe not, but I do know

9:57

our God. He flung the stars

9:59

into space. He spoke the worlds

10:01

into existence. Surely he can give

10:04

us $3 for a gallon of

10:06

gas. Anything you're facing is

10:08

subject to change. God can turn

10:10

that situation around. One touch of

10:12

his favor. Why don't you

10:14

be a believer and not a doubter? You

10:16

got to get up on the inside. I

10:19

love the story in Mark chapter five. This

10:21

lady had been sick for 12 years

10:23

with a bleeding disorder. She'd

10:26

gone to many doctors, spent all of her

10:28

money, but she continued to get worse. One

10:30

day she heard that Jesus was coming through

10:32

her city. You know what she

10:34

did? She got up on the inside. Her

10:37

circumstances had pushed her down on

10:39

the outside. Physically,

10:41

she was weak and feeble.

10:43

Mentally, she was tired and

10:46

run down. Emotionally, she was

10:48

drained. She had every excuse

10:50

to live negative and defeated. She could

10:52

have gone back home and said, too

10:54

bad for me. Life's just not fair.

10:56

I tried, but nothing worked. No,

10:58

she understood this simple principle.

11:00

If she would get up on

11:02

the inside, then God could

11:04

change things on the outside. The

11:07

scripture says, She kept saying

11:09

to herself, what was

11:11

she saying? I'll never get well.

11:13

This is gonna be a waste of

11:15

my time. Nothing good ever happens to

11:17

me. No, she kept saying to herself, I

11:19

know when I get to Jesus, I'm

11:22

gonna be healed. I know good things are

11:24

in store. I know my best days

11:26

are still out in front of me. She

11:28

was full of hope and

11:30

expectancy. She had this

11:32

restoration mentality. Let me

11:34

ask you today, what are you saying

11:37

to yourself? Well, I don't think

11:39

I'll ever get out of this problem. Joel, I seem

11:41

to always get the short end of the stick. I

11:43

don't know if I'll ever be healthy again. No,

11:45

you have to change what you're

11:47

saying. Stop talking about the problem and

11:49

start talking about the solution. Life

11:52

may have dealt you some tough things

11:54

to deal with, but your attitude should

11:56

be, I know God is gonna pay

11:58

me back. My health may

12:00

be going downhill, but I know God

12:02

can do what men can't do. My finances may

12:04

be kind of low today, but God is

12:06

supplying all of my needs. Or my child,

12:08

he may not be doing right, but as

12:11

for me and my house, we will serve

12:13

the Lord. You got to

12:15

quit letting yourself talk to you and

12:17

instead start talking to yourself. When

12:19

this lady saw Jesus coming down the

12:22

street, there were so many people around him,

12:24

she couldn't get to him. She

12:26

could have easily had that

12:28

defeated mindset, thought just my luck,

12:30

come all this way, can't even get

12:32

to him. No, she was more determined than

12:34

that. She wouldn't take no for an

12:36

answer. She started pushing her

12:38

way through the crowd. Here she's

12:40

tired, she's weak, she doesn't feel

12:42

well, but she just keeps pressing

12:44

forward, moving people out of the

12:46

way. When she gets to Jesus,

12:48

all she can do is reach out

12:50

and touch the very bottom of his robe. The

12:53

scripture says immediately power flowed into

12:55

her and she was made

12:57

completely well. Jesus stopped and looked

13:00

at her and said, Your

13:02

faith has made you whole. He

13:05

said, in effect, because you got

13:07

up on the inside, because you had

13:09

such expectancy, you drew the supernatural

13:11

power right out of me. We

13:13

can do the same things. Some

13:15

of you today, like this lady, you have

13:18

every reason in the natural to have that

13:20

chip on your shoulder. Wonder why something didn't

13:22

work out and why your child got off

13:24

track. But I'm asking you

13:26

to get rid of that defeated thinking.

13:28

You have to get up. before

13:30

God can bring you out. It's

13:33

interesting, with the children of Israel, when

13:35

they were in slavery all those years,

13:37

being so mistreated and forced to work

13:39

night and day, they had

13:41

been that way so long, they started

13:44

seeing themselves as slaves.

13:47

That's all they had known,

13:49

generations of defeat, mediocrity,

13:52

hardship, suffering. It had become

13:54

ingrained in their thinking.

13:56

Now they see themselves as

13:58

victims rather than victors.

14:00

And in turn, that's all

14:02

they expected, more defeat, more

14:04

failure, more heartache, more suffering.

14:07

God knew he had to change

14:09

their image on the inside. And

14:11

one day God said to

14:13

Moses, you tell my people, I

14:15

have seen their affliction. I've

14:17

seen their heartache and pain, and

14:19

I'm coming down to deliver

14:22

them. I believe God's

14:24

saying the same thing to each one

14:26

of us today. I've seen every unfair

14:28

situation. I've seen every tear you shed.

14:30

I've seen the time you've done your

14:32

best, but it just didn't work out. The

14:35

good news is God is saying, I'm

14:37

a God of justice and I'm

14:39

coming down to make your wrongs right.

14:41

I'm coming down to change things

14:43

in your favor. But here's the key.

14:45

We have to be in a

14:47

position to receive. In other words,

14:49

we have to have the right image

14:51

on the inside. These

14:53

people, at least the adults, they never

14:56

did make it into their promised

14:58

land. God brought them out of slavery,

15:00

but slavery never did get out

15:02

of them. For generations, they had

15:04

been programmed. We're just slaves. We

15:07

just barely get by. We always get the

15:09

short end of the stick. Their

15:11

wrong image kept them from God's

15:13

best. Life may have

15:15

tried to push you down. Maybe like

15:17

them, you spent years in

15:19

bondages of sickness, lack,

15:22

defeat, mediocrity. Now

15:24

you're tempted to kind of feel like a victim and

15:26

like you'll never accomplish your dreams. Let me tell

15:28

you what you got to do. Reprogram

15:30

your computer. You got to

15:32

start seeing yourself as the head

15:34

and not the tail, as

15:37

above and not beneath, as

15:39

free and not bound as well

15:41

off and not barely making it.

15:43

You have to have the right

15:45

image if you're going to become everything

15:47

God's created you to be. Because here's

15:49

the problem. Even if God brings

15:51

you out and you see yourself the

15:53

wrong way, it will only be

15:55

temporary. You'll go right back to the

15:57

way you were. That's what these

15:59

people did. God brought them out

16:02

of slavery. They were finally

16:04

free from all that heartache and

16:06

pain, but on their way to

16:08

the promised land, practically every time

16:10

they faced adversity, they said,

16:12

Moses, please just let us go back

16:14

to Egypt. Just let us go back to

16:16

the way we were. Why

16:18

would they want to go back to being

16:20

mistreated and working night and day? You

16:22

know why? They had the wrong image on

16:24

the inside. They didn't see

16:26

themselves as children of the Most High

16:28

God. They didn't see themselves as

16:30

more than conquerors. They saw

16:32

themselves as weak, defeated,

16:35

not able to. They had

16:37

a slave mentality instead of

16:39

a warrior mentality. They

16:41

were constantly telling themselves, we'll never

16:43

make it. Our enemies are too

16:46

big, we don't have what it takes. And

16:48

see, our faith works in both

16:50

directions. You're gonna get what you're believing

16:52

for. If you have

16:54

negative, limited thinking, and you

16:56

go around telling yourself, Joel, it's

16:59

never gonna happen for me. I'll never get well,

17:01

I'll never get out of debt. You

17:03

are setting the limits for

17:05

your life. I'm asking you today

17:07

to get up in your

17:09

vision, see yourself as God sees

17:11

you. Strong, successful,

17:14

victorious. You may

17:16

be in poverty, but don't ever let

17:18

poverty get in you. You

17:20

may have struggled with the sickness for years,

17:22

but you need to see yourself healthy and

17:24

whole. Or maybe you have had

17:26

unfair things happen, but don't see

17:28

yourself as a victim. Start seeing

17:30

yourself as a victor. Get an

17:32

image of God paying you back

17:34

and bringing you out better off

17:36

than you were before. When

17:39

Moses sent 12 men to spy out

17:41

the promised land, 10 of them came

17:43

back and said, Moses, we don't have

17:45

a chance. We felt like

17:47

we were grasshoppers compared to

17:49

them. And it's interesting why

17:51

they would choose a grasshopper. I

17:53

believe it's significant. They could have

17:56

said we felt like a dog or a

17:58

mouse or a tiny little ant, but

18:00

think about a grasshopper. They all

18:02

have wings, but they can't all

18:04

fly. I believe these

18:06

men down deep, they knew their potential.

18:08

They knew that land belonged to

18:10

them. They knew they were supposed

18:12

to be victorious, but the

18:14

problem was they saw themselves

18:16

the wrong way. If

18:18

you're going to make it in to your

18:21

promised land, you have to have the

18:23

right image on the inside. You have to

18:25

see yourself strong, successful, happy,

18:28

healthy, and whole. And

18:30

some of you like these people. You've

18:32

come from generations of addictions and

18:34

low self -esteem, mediocrity, lack,

18:36

constant struggling. If you don't rise

18:38

up and do something about

18:41

it, it will not only

18:43

affect you, it'll affect your children

18:45

and future generations. I

18:47

know with my father, he grew

18:49

up in extreme poverty. His

18:51

parents were cotton farmers. They lost everything

18:53

they had in the Great Depression. Many

18:56

times, they didn't have enough food to

18:58

eat. They would just share all

19:01

the children one small glass of milk. My

19:03

father went to high school with holes

19:05

in his pants, holes in his shoes. That

19:07

was before it was fashionable. Today

19:09

he'd be in style. My

19:12

grandmother made 10 cents an

19:14

hour washing people's clothes. She

19:16

worked 14 hours a day, seven

19:18

days a week. So my dad grew

19:20

up with this poverty mentality. He

19:23

didn't know any better. He'd become ingrained

19:25

in his thinking. That's all he

19:27

expected. Year after year,

19:29

he struggled, barely got by,

19:31

barely had enough to raise his

19:33

family. But one day, he

19:35

began to realize he was not

19:37

supposed to drag through life barely

19:40

making it. He saw the scripture,

19:42

God takes pleasure in the prosperity

19:44

of his children. Jesus came

19:47

that we might live an abundant life.

19:49

My father drew the line in the sand.

19:51

He said, enough is enough. This is

19:53

what's been passed down to me, but

19:55

this is not who I am. I

19:57

am the head and not the tail.

19:59

I am above, I'm not beneath. I

20:02

am blessed, I cannot be cursed.

20:05

What was he doing? He was

20:08

changing his image on the inside.

20:10

He was making room for the good things of

20:12

God. His attitude was, it's

20:14

payback time. My family has been

20:16

robbed. We've lived in defeat and

20:19

mediocrity long enough. Now I'm not

20:21

gonna settle where I am I'm

20:23

coming up higher and I'm gonna

20:25

set a new standard. He did

20:27

exactly that. Because my

20:29

father took that step of faith,

20:32

he broke the curse of poverty and

20:34

lack in our family line. And

20:36

some of you, like my father, you need to

20:38

rise up and say the enemy has stolen

20:40

from our family long enough, but this is

20:42

a new day. I not only know who I

20:44

am, I know whose I am. I

20:47

am a child of the most high God.

20:49

I know I have been created. to

20:51

live his abundant life

20:54

and then get a vision for it.

20:56

Abundance of joy, abundance of

20:58

peace, abundance in your health,

21:01

abundance of good relationships, abundance

21:03

in your finances. It starts right

21:05

here in our thoughts, in our

21:07

vision, in our self -image, in

21:09

what we're expecting. A

21:11

few years before my dad went to

21:13

be with the Lord, we drove back to

21:15

the little farm he was raised on

21:17

in East Texas. He just wanted to reminisce

21:20

and we found the school he went

21:22

to and we found the little well on

21:24

his property. And somebody told us where

21:26

some friends of his lived that went to

21:28

school with him. And we drove by

21:30

this one house and there was this older gentleman

21:32

out in the front porch and my father hollered

21:34

out, hey, is that you so and so?

21:36

And he said it is. My dad went over

21:38

there and gave him a big hug that

21:40

hadn't seen each other in over 60 years. And

21:43

I'll never forget, and I don't mean this

21:45

wrong, but that man had not

21:47

made anything with his life. He

21:49

had stayed in the same defeat in

21:51

mediocrity that my father was raised in. And

21:53

I don't mean that he wasn't a

21:55

good person, because he was, but my point

21:57

is, God has so much

21:59

more in store. We went

22:02

by and saw two or three other

22:04

people, same thing, good people, but no

22:06

victory. One man was living in,

22:08

I don't even know if he had called it

22:10

a shack, had water dripping down from the ceiling

22:13

into a bucket. Another man told how he

22:15

got laid off when he was 28, hadn't

22:17

held down a good job since then.

22:19

And I thought, here my

22:21

father was raised in that same

22:23

environment. He came out of those

22:25

same negative conditions, yet he

22:27

rose up and made something

22:29

significant with his life. What was

22:31

the difference? God is no respecter

22:34

of persons. The difference was

22:36

my father got rid of that

22:38

limited mindset. Daddy developed a

22:40

new image on the inside. He

22:43

stretched his faith. He expected

22:45

God to do good things, and

22:47

he saw God taking places

22:49

that he never even dreamed of.

22:51

God will do the same thing for each one

22:53

of us. Well, when Pharaoh

22:55

finally let the children of Israel go

22:57

from their slavery, that in itself

23:00

was a great miracle. I'm sure they

23:02

were excited about being free, but

23:04

remember God never brings us out the

23:06

same way we came in. He

23:08

told the Israelites to ask the

23:10

Egyptians on their way out, for

23:12

their gold and their silver. And

23:15

God calls them to have favor with

23:17

the people and they freely gave them what

23:19

they asked for. What was happening? God

23:21

was paying them back for 430

23:24

years of working as a

23:26

slave. They were getting

23:28

everything they rightfully deserved. And

23:30

see, God is keeping all the records. That's

23:33

why you don't have to worry

23:35

that you're not gonna get what belongs to

23:37

you. You just have to keep doing

23:39

your very best. At the office, people may

23:41

overlook you. You're doing the work, but

23:43

not getting the credit. You're tempted

23:45

to get frustrated and worried about it.

23:47

But no, God sees what's

23:50

happening. If you'll just keep doing the

23:52

right thing, God has promised he

23:54

will make it up to you. And

23:56

what's unusual is why would God

23:58

tell them to take the silver

24:00

and the gold? After all, where they

24:02

were going, out in the

24:04

wilderness, in the desert, there weren't any

24:07

grocery stores. Wasn't any place to

24:09

spend it, weren't any malls, no

24:11

Galleria. Sorry, Victoria. It

24:13

seemed like that was just gonna

24:15

be more to burden them down. But

24:17

God instructed them to put the

24:19

silver and the gold on their children.

24:22

Think about it, these

24:24

children, all they had

24:26

known was heartache, suffering,

24:28

lack, mediocrity. I can see

24:30

them call their little daughter over

24:32

and put a beautiful gold necklace around

24:34

her neck. How that must

24:36

have made her feel. I can see her

24:38

standing up tall. I can see a new

24:40

sparkle in her little eyes. They

24:43

call their sons over and put gold

24:45

rings and silver rings on their fingers. Maybe

24:47

some of them for the first time

24:49

begin to put their shoulders back. They

24:52

had been so beaten down and told

24:54

they'd never mount to anything. Now

24:56

they start to see themselves differently. I

24:59

believe the reason God had them

25:01

put that on those children is so

25:03

they would develop a new image on

25:05

the inside. Now when

25:07

those children looked at each other, they

25:09

didn't see themselves the same way.

25:11

They didn't see themselves as poor, defeated,

25:13

not able to. Little by

25:15

little, they got rid of their

25:17

slave mentality and they started seeing

25:20

themselves as the head and not

25:22

the tail, as above and not

25:24

beneath, as victors and not victims.

25:27

Do you realize their parents never

25:29

did make it into the

25:31

promised land? They didn't think they

25:33

had what it takes. They didn't think

25:35

they could defeat their giants, but these

25:38

children, the ones that developed

25:40

a new image, the ones that got

25:42

rid of their slave mentality, the

25:44

ones that got up every morning, hoping,

25:46

believing, expecting, they're the ones

25:48

that went into the Promised Land. Some

25:50

of you like them, you've

25:52

come from generations of lack, mediocrity,

25:54

limited vision, your parents, relatives,

25:57

they were good people, they were loving

25:59

and kind, but they were stuck in that

26:01

rut. I'm asking you today,

26:03

to be the one to make

26:05

a difference. Be the one to set

26:07

a new standard. You can affect

26:09

generations to come. I know

26:11

when I was growing up, my father

26:13

built a sanctuary that held a thousand people.

26:16

It was a big deal. I thought, this

26:18

is so large. 10

26:20

years later, he built a sanctuary

26:22

that held 8 ,000 people. First

26:24

time I walked in it, under my breath,

26:26

I thought, we will never fill this place up.

26:28

It is huge. 15 years

26:30

later, it was too small. And

26:32

God supernaturally gave us this place,

26:34

the former compact center. Today,

26:38

it doesn't feel big at all.

26:40

It just feels normal. Three

26:42

or four years ago, I was driving

26:44

down the freeway, our son Jonathan. He was

26:46

seven or eight at the time. He

26:48

said, Daddy, one day, I'm gonna get the

26:50

reliant stadium. That holds 70 ,000 people. Do

26:53

you see what happens when

26:55

we get rid of defeated, limited

26:57

thinking? It not

27:00

only affects you, it affects

27:02

your children and your grandchildren. They'll

27:04

believe for things that you never

27:06

even thought possible. And I

27:09

believe today can be a turning point. Some

27:11

of you have allowed these negative mindsets

27:13

that have been passed down to rob and

27:15

steal from you. But you need to

27:17

rise up and say it's payback time. That

27:19

may have happened in the past, but

27:21

it's not gonna happen in the future. I

27:23

know who I am and I know

27:25

what belongs to me. The scripture

27:27

says in Isaiah, a

27:29

rise, shine for your

27:31

light has come. Doesn't

27:33

say your light will come, says your light

27:35

has come. You just simply have to turn

27:38

it on. In other words, you just

27:40

have to believe. You just have to expect

27:42

good things. You just have to know who you

27:44

are. You know what I'm doing

27:46

today? I'm trying to flip your switch. I'm

27:48

trying to convince you that God is

27:50

a God of justice and he will pay

27:52

you back for every unfair thing that's

27:54

happened. Don't have that

27:57

grasshopper mentality, heaven

27:59

wings, but not being able to fly. You're

28:01

not a grasshopper, you're an

28:04

eagle. You were created to soar,

28:06

created as a victor and

28:08

not a victim. Why

28:10

don't you get up on the inside? If

28:12

you'll get up, God can bring you out. It

28:15

may not happen overnight, but God's a

28:17

faithful God. If you'll keep being your

28:19

best, hoping, believing, expecting, like

28:21

the lady with the issue of blood, just

28:23

keep pressing forward. If you'll do that,

28:25

God will do for you what He did

28:27

for the children of the Israelites. He'll

28:29

not only bring you out of every bondage.

28:31

He'll not only pay you back everything

28:34

you deserve, but He'll take you in to

28:36

your promised land. And you'll live that

28:38

life of victory that rightfully belongs to you.

28:40

Amen. Do you receive it today? We

29:12

we face challenges, it's easy to feel

29:14

like God has forgotten about us. We

29:16

don't see anything happening. Thoughts tell us

29:18

it's not going to work out. But

29:21

God is not called the great I

29:23

was or the great I will be.

29:25

He's called the great I am. In
