2:00

by grace through faith and they have to

2:02

live by grace through faith. And

2:08

so they're starting to get

2:13

into works of the flesh again. And

2:18

you'll notice that he said, let me in verse 2, let

2:21

me ask you, did you receive the Spirit

2:24

by works of the law or by the

2:26

hearing with faith? Are you so foolish, having

2:28

begun by the Spirit, are you now being

2:30

perfected by the flesh? I

2:35

wish I had some way of trying to convey to

2:37

you how much those scriptures in Galatians

2:39

changed my life about 30 years

2:41

ago. Because

2:43

I was almost killing myself with works of the

2:45

flesh. I

2:48

mean, I'm a pretty determined person and

2:50

I was, I was

2:52

going to change. Is

2:56

anybody out there reading me? You know what I mean? I

2:59

was going to change. I, I

3:08

was going to keep my mouth shut.

3:16

I was going to be sweet

3:18

and nice. Because

3:26

you know, I was just not

3:29

naturally sweet. And

3:34

I'm a little more like, sometimes

3:38

God leaves flaws in us just so we'll

3:40

need Him. I'm

3:46

sorry, but you're just not going to be perfect. So

3:48

you might as well just accept it. And

3:52

say, that's just the way it is. I

3:56

tried so hard and I was

3:58

frustrated all the time. time, any

4:01

time you get frustrated, it's

4:05

because you're trying to make something happen that

4:07

only God can make happen. Come

4:10

on. Trying

4:16

to change your kids? Good luck with that. If

4:21

you have three or four kids, every one of them's

4:23

got a different personality, and

4:26

you wonder how could all four of you come out of

4:28

the same place? Come on,

4:32

how many of you have kids that are their exact opposite?

4:40

And then, of course, if you still haven't learned

4:42

that everybody's different, you think they all should be

4:44

like you. Come on.

4:48

How many of you got married and you immediately

4:50

started trying to change the person you married to

4:52

be more like you? But

4:55

the whole reason you were attracted to them was because they

4:58

were not like you, because

5:01

God doesn't give any one person everything.

5:03

He gives all of us apart so

5:06

we will need each other. So

5:09

we're attracted to somebody who has what

5:11

we don't have, and

5:15

we need to help one

5:17

another if I'm

5:19

strong in an area where Dave is weak and

5:21

he's strong in an area where I'm weak, instead of

5:23

me trying to change him and him trying to change

5:25

me, we're supposed to work together. You

5:32

talk about major walks of the flesh. It's trying

5:34

to change other people to make them be what

5:36

you want them to be. Maybe

5:38

you came here wanting God to show you what

5:41

to do. And the

5:43

thing he's saying is what I want you to do

5:45

is stop trying to do and learn

5:50

how to be. Amen.

6:00

yells in our ear all day, what are you gonna do? What are you gonna do? What

6:02

are you gonna do? What are you gonna do? The

6:05

answer is I'm gonna trust God and wait on him

6:09

And I'm gonna let God be God in my life

6:12

and I'm gonna enjoy my life and

6:15

I'm gonna enjoy myself right here

6:17

on there. But God is turning me

6:19

into whatever he wants me to be. cheers and applause

6:24

Amen? How's

6:28

all you foolish dilation? Are

6:31

you so foolish and senseless and silly? Having

6:34

been saved strictly

6:36

by faith

6:39

and faith alone, are you now? Do

6:41

you really think that you can perfect

6:43

yourself by works of the

6:46

flesh? Well

6:51

that just changed me, man. This

6:54

is actually when I started to learn about grace. There's

6:59

a lot of teachings today on grace and

7:01

grace is wonderful. My gosh, if we don't

7:03

know about grace, that's why Paul, in his

7:05

opening letters, he would greet people

7:07

with grace and peace be unto you. Because

7:11

you'll never have peace if you don't know grace.

7:16

Because grace is understanding what you can do

7:18

and what you can't do and doing what

7:20

you can do and trusting God

7:23

to do what you can't do and then if he doesn't

7:25

do it as fast as you'd like him to, just

7:27

being patient and waiting and enjoying

7:30

where you're at on the way to where you're going. Grace

7:42

or works, which is it going to be? How

7:47

are you going to live? Are you going to live by God's

7:49

power or by your power? By

7:54

self effort or by trusting God

7:56

to do miracles as

7:58

you put your faith in it. in

8:01

him. You know

8:03

what the Bible says you have not because you

8:05

ask not. It's amazing how many things God will

8:07

do for us if we'll just stop trying to

8:09

make it happen ourselves and just ask him. Ask

8:14

and receive that your joy might be

8:16

full. I love that. After

8:21

salvation God begins to work a

8:23

process in us called sanctification. Now

8:25

we are sanctified which means

8:27

made holy at the

8:30

time of our new birth

8:32

but in Philippians 2 12 and

8:34

13 it

8:36

says therefore my beloved as

8:40

you have always obeyed so now not only

8:42

in my presence but much more in my

8:44

absence work out your

8:46

own salvation with fear and

8:49

trembling for

8:51

it is God who works in you both to

8:53

will and to work for his good pleasure

8:59

and it goes on to say not to

9:01

do it in your own strength but

9:05

let God do the work in you. So

9:07

God sanctifies us

9:10

he gives us his Holy

9:12

Spirit why because

9:15

his spirit is holy and so

9:17

the Holy Spirit is the only one that can

9:19

work that holiness in

9:23

us. So

9:26

he says work out your salvation he's not saying

9:28

work for your salvation he's

9:31

saying it comes to you as a free gift and

9:33

I think I mentioned this last night or maybe this

9:35

morning inside in

9:37

your spirit you're

9:41

perfect. You're

9:45

holy you're called a saint you're

9:49

righteous you've been made

9:51

right with God you're

9:53

full of love all the fruit of

9:55

the spirit is in their love joy

9:57

peace patience goodness kindness every you got

9:59

it. Everybody say I got it And

10:04

see our problem is we spend our life trying to

10:06

get something we've already got No

10:10

wonder it's frustrating and so

10:12

you need to learn I am right with God

10:15

I have been made right with God

10:17

now listen to me the more you

10:19

believe that The more

10:21

right behavior will be manifested

10:24

through you In

10:29

God's economy you believe first then you get

10:32

it in God's economy

10:36

You believe first without seeing

10:41

Faith is what the substance

10:43

of things hoped for the

10:45

evidence of things not seen

10:50

So first you get

10:52

it by faith I

10:55

believe that when I die I'm gonna go to heaven

10:59

Well, how do I know that? I'm

11:03

not seen heaven. I've not been to heaven. I've

11:06

not had anybody that's been there come back talk to

11:08

me But

11:12

I believe it And

11:15

I can tell you really what we believe

11:17

in our hearts is more powerful than what

11:19

we see with our eyes I Believe I

11:24

believe stay tuned

12:30

is today on Candid Conversations. This

12:41

is one of those conversations that I would

12:43

bet nearly everyone out there watching right now

12:46

would love to sit down and talk with

12:48

you about because we all go

12:50

through it at one time or another and

12:52

the question we often ask ourselves and ask

12:54

God is why is

12:56

my healing taking so long?

13:00

This is a question that we get from

13:02

many people who

13:04

correspond with us on social media. It

13:06

could be a physical healing, it

13:08

could be an emotional healing. Right. Well,

13:12

you know, I think we have a lot of whys. We

13:15

do. That we ask God and so the

13:17

first thing I'd like to say is that I've learned

13:19

in my life that God

13:21

much prefers to hear I trust

13:23

you rather than why.

13:27

So I do think that that's

13:29

a good place. That's a great place to start

13:31

and that's really true for me. That's something I've really

13:33

learned in my life. And you

13:35

know, there is no 100%

13:38

perfect answer to

13:42

this question. I'll start off with the part

13:44

that nobody wants to hear which is it

13:47

could be that there's

13:50

something blocking your

13:52

healing. If you have unforgiveness

13:54

in your heart, that is

13:56

something that needs to be taken care of

13:58

because the Bible says. Plainly.

14:01

That. Is.

14:04

What? We pray if you have

14:06

anything against anyone. Anything

14:08

against any one. Even

14:11

if you select, it's justified. Anything.

14:13

Against A and one you need to leave at. Let it

14:16

go, Drop it. And forgive. Otherwise,

14:19

your father in heaven cannot forgive your

14:21

sins. So if our sanders between us

14:23

and God that he really can't hear.

14:26

And. Answer are person and to

14:28

be honest Ginger as you know.

14:31

From. The And and conferences with me as

14:33

a as people less. About

14:35

seventy to eighty percent of all

14:37

pressed. To

14:39

these conferences. Are. Still

14:42

mad at somebody? You're right every time you

14:44

bring up so can go off and I

14:46

do think. It's because people think.

14:49

They. Know that it's wrong. But they

14:52

think they're justified. Because

14:55

what was done to them is. So.

14:58

Different the most? Don't. Say

15:00

that. If. You have anything against anyone,

15:02

you need to let it go. Great place

15:04

to start if you have. Seen.

15:07

In your life hidden sand you have not

15:09

repent. the boats. That.

15:12

Could block. Or. He

15:14

won, but. You may be doing nothing

15:16

wrong. You. May be doing

15:18

everything right. You know? Ah,

15:21

Bad. Things happen. To.

15:23

Good people and. One.

15:26

Thing's for sure, whether something good, go on

15:28

on. That's where the devil's gonna park. he's

15:30

gonna try to. Bring.

15:33

You down? he's gonna try to. To.

15:35

Eschew and see if he can get you

15:37

to a. Question. God are

15:39

blame God as so.

15:42

It. I want to blame God. For.

15:45

Your problems? You know? I can't

15:47

say why something. Is.

15:50

Taking so long? you know? this year

15:52

I had an. Accident.

15:54

And. Had. A surgery and got

15:57

a blood clot. Had to have another surgery

15:59

night cause. Nerve damage and my

16:01

right leg of fell number of molests legs

16:03

offered to and a sampling as well. Why?

16:05

While. On a you

16:08

know I didn't really ask. That but

16:10

what. I did this and this is what

16:12

I want to. Really?

16:14

Stress with people a day is.

16:17

Yes, You can I ask why if you want to and.

16:20

But. That. Might be good but I think

16:22

rather what I say god as or something that I

16:24

need to see here. That

16:27

on me that I'm not saying to me

16:29

since me. And I have a feeling

16:31

that just what we said about. Squash.

16:38

Sometimes. Types of A Obey God.

16:40

I mean you can be. Simple.

16:43

Thing is that God's trying to say. Stop.

16:47

Doing this and waiters. Yeah.

16:50

Or week when make excuses for

16:52

what we're doing. But. I.

16:56

Say. More.

16:58

Importantly, what I focused on during

17:00

that time. Was.

17:04

How I behaved. During.

17:08

That time First thing I said the God

17:10

as I wanna live what I preach. And

17:13

I don't want to complain. I

17:16

want to stay science or through all this, don't want

17:18

to stay positive. I want to stay in space. And

17:21

so. That's. What I want

17:23

to encourage people? I know we. We.

17:26

Can actually get our focus off

17:28

guard. And. On to

17:30

why this is happening to me so

17:32

much. That. It.

17:35

Really can create problems on what

17:37

we need to do is. Continue.

17:40

To find things. To be something so for. No

17:44

matter what. Kind of a. Situation You're and

17:46

could be worse. And.

17:48

There is very true there is somebody

17:51

that. Has gotten much worse

17:53

while I was. I.

17:55

Spent twenty four days and

17:57

rehabilitation hospital and. While

18:00

I was there, I was getting. Doing.

18:03

My our of rehab. One day at

18:05

three hours a day, but one hour

18:07

increments like God. And not.

18:11

So. Neither one of my legs were

18:13

working properly, but there was also a young girl

18:15

though that looked like she was may be on

18:17

or thirties. That. Was.

18:21

There for rehabilitation and both the her

18:23

legs have been amputated. And

18:25

so as a larger perspective. As I

18:27

thought. I'm

18:30

pretty good shape. The know

18:33

my legs can be healed was enough work.

18:35

Or likes couldn't be here because. They

18:38

were gone. I would continue to

18:41

be stifled continue to praise God.

18:44

Be. Positive. And

18:46

believe. That.

18:48

Whatever you're going through is gonna

18:51

work out good. It's gonna end

18:53

well and. You. Know

18:55

we live, live forward, but we understand

18:57

it backwards. And. I know I

18:59

was at an amateur use at times in your

19:01

life. Or you've gone

19:04

through very difficult things. But

19:06

then look back later and

19:08

thought. Yeah. Alarms

19:12

that you know can you think of a time like

19:14

that in your life? There there has been

19:16

many were. In in the

19:18

midst of it. First. Of all

19:20

things look very dark sometimes when you're

19:23

in the middle and like you said

19:25

and until you shift your focus on.

19:28

The. I remember a time that that

19:30

I was sick for quite awhile

19:32

and and a really change my

19:34

lifestyle change the I could do

19:36

this was years ago that's our

19:38

members beginning to think I'm always

19:40

gonna be like this this this

19:42

is what it what it going

19:44

to be and really had to

19:46

shift that focus and then also

19:49

now that I look back you

19:51

know I see good things that

19:53

came out of even that and

19:55

like he should. Sad when you

19:57

have that benefit of hindsight. it

19:59

does change things But you also

20:01

have to be able to make

20:04

that very, very difficult choice of

20:07

if this is how I

20:09

am from now on, am I going to

20:11

still trust God? Am I still going

20:13

to be okay with that? And I think sometimes

20:15

that's what God is waiting for us

20:17

to do. He wants us to say,

20:20

you know, yes, I

20:23

want and feel that I need this

20:25

healing, but... And I'm expecting good

20:27

things. Yeah, but I need you more.

20:29

Yes. And I can be happy with

20:32

whatever. Now, you know, I

20:36

think of the woman who was bleeding for

20:38

12 years and then suddenly

20:42

on a day, she got her healing. There's another woman

20:44

that was sick for 18 years. So,

20:47

you know, certainly you don't want to give

20:49

up. Yeah. You know, you're suddenly

20:51

could be today. And

20:53

so, and you have to think like that too,

20:55

you know, I'm getting better and better all the

20:57

time. And you know, I had good

21:00

things that happened. They told me I would be in a a

21:03

booth that was very

21:05

uncomfortable for 12 weeks and it was only

21:07

five. And I mean,

21:13

I'm in great shape now. I

21:16

mean, healed my healing seemed

21:18

like it took a long time. But really when

21:20

I look back, people say you really it's

21:23

amazing how fast

21:25

well, it didn't seem fast to me, but how fast

21:28

you you came back. And so just,

21:31

you know, we just want people

21:33

to trust God and to believe

21:36

that even though what's going on

21:39

in your life may seem bad.

21:42

That there is a reason for it that

21:46

that God will take it and

21:49

work something good out of it. Let

21:52

let us address

21:54

the same question in Not

21:57

a physical way, but more of an

21:59

emotional healing. Because it

22:01

does take time you said so many

22:03

times that you are abused for years

22:05

and by the healing is going to

22:08

take some time as well. so it's

22:10

difficult to be patient right when we're

22:12

at at a stage like that where

22:14

we just want it to be over.

22:17

There you know. I.

22:20

Hurt for so long. Trying.

22:22

To get well. And we think sometimes why

22:24

does getting well have to hurt. But.

22:28

What God showed me is that. Like.

22:30

For me, I was sexually abused by my

22:32

dad was I created all kinds of different.

22:35

Things. Of my life, you know I

22:37

was rooted in fear. And.

22:39

So the only way you overcome fear

22:42

is by confronting it. So

22:44

what God showed me his he

22:46

used doors and is a do

22:48

you go through doorways of pain.

22:51

Getting into them. Mess.

22:54

That your hand. So it's like something happens that

22:57

hurt you and you go through that door. Think.

23:00

You're gonna survive. And then he goes

23:02

something else. I thousand one of doorway

23:04

of pain so. Here's.

23:12

Another five years of. Of

23:14

pain and so I had a lot of

23:16

different things happen and then when. One.

23:19

I learned from the word that

23:21

God would heal me. Of.

23:24

Course we always like. Oh.

23:26

Right now. And. All but.

23:28

I had to go. What he showed me

23:30

his. I had to go

23:33

back through those doors. Of

23:35

which meant I had to confront. Their

23:37

I had to confront in security. Yeah, I.

23:40

Had to confront my dad. At one point

23:42

I had to sit down and. Say

23:44

look we have never discussed what you

23:47

did the me. It's so.

23:49

Fearful sexual abuse is interesting.

23:52

It's like. It

23:55

happens like like in this.

23:57

Sense. Of a family situation.

24:00

And yet, everybody

24:02

pretended like it wasn't happening.

24:05

It was like, it would happen. And

24:07

then we'd

24:10

all just kind of go on and then it would happen

24:12

again. And even my mother who

24:16

knew what he was doing because I told her and

24:18

then she caught him one time, she

24:20

didn't do anything. So I had to overcome that.

24:24

And then, you know, I came to a point

24:26

where God wanted me to take care of my

24:28

parents because they were getting older and I had

24:30

to overcome that. And so we,

24:34

I would say in our lives,

24:36

we're pretty much confronting something most

24:39

of the time and that's how we

24:41

get well. But let me

24:44

encourage people today, don't look at

24:46

how long it's been or how

24:49

far you have to go. Shouldn't I be over

24:51

this yet? Yeah, but look at how far you've

24:53

come. Yeah. Because

24:55

you are making progress

24:57

all the time. You're getting better

24:59

and better all the time. And boy, the

25:01

devil loves it when we just look at

25:04

how far we have to go. And

25:07

I can just tell you this, God is good.

25:09

He loves you. And

25:12

as David said, my times are in his

25:14

hands. So his timing

25:17

in your life is perfect.

25:20

Perfect. And the

25:23

truth is, is if you never get what

25:25

you want here on earth, you still have

25:28

Jesus. So you're not

25:30

facing anything alone. You're not by yourself. He

25:33

loves you and has a good plan for your life. And

25:35

I just wrote a book called Blessed and the Mess. And

25:38

if, if, if,

25:40

if, say if with me,

25:42

Ginger. If. If

25:45

you handle

25:48

it God's way, you

25:51

can be blessed right in the middle

25:54

of whatever kind of a situation you're going

25:56

on. And to be honest, I think

25:58

that's a bigger testimony to. than not ever

26:00

having a problem. Yeah. It's

26:03

kind of a beautiful if. Because

26:05

God gives us, potentially gives us

26:07

the opportunity that we don't have

26:09

without him. And I think

26:11

about walking through those doors. If

26:14

you had to take all of those

26:16

doors at once, the pain could be

26:18

overwhelming, that God is so good to

26:20

us to let us do one thing

26:22

at a time and he leads us

26:24

through it in a gentle

26:26

way. So yes,

26:28

it can be confusing and

26:31

frustrating, but God's

26:33

plan is a really good one. And

26:35

you know, part of the power

26:38

of our testimony to other people

26:41

is in having the same problems that

26:43

they have and yet

26:45

showing them that through Christ, we

26:48

can still have joy. We

26:51

can still be patient. We can still

26:53

do things for other people. And

26:56

that's just maybe a good point

26:58

to end on

27:00

today is that while you're waiting,

27:05

don't wait also to

27:08

serve God, but continue

27:10

to do things for other people.

27:13

And if you're so incapacitated that you can't

27:15

even get around, you can pray. You

27:18

can pray for other people. And there's

27:20

always something that we can do to

27:23

make somebody else's life better. And

27:26

the Bible says in Romans 12, 21, that

27:29

we overcome evil with good. And

27:32

so if you have something going on in your

27:34

life that you feel like is an evil thing,

27:36

just remember the best way to overcome

27:39

that is by behaving

27:41

good and doing good

27:43

things for other people. Emotional

27:51

humility, some people have

27:53

it, and then there's the rest of us.

27:55
