0:37

our final mock draft Monday of

0:39

2025. So if we do

0:41

it in style, we're going to do it two different ways,

0:43

one with an eye on the future and one with

0:45

not so much an eye on the future right now on

1:19

1:21

I want to thank you for

1:23

coming through for today's episode. We are

1:25

going to do our final mock

1:27

draft Monday of 2025. The

1:29

next time we do a mock draft Monday.

1:31

It'll be 2026. We'll be done talking

1:33

about the Super Bowl win. All that stuff

1:35

will be covering the parade. It'll be a

1:37

lot of fun. But for now, we're going to

1:40

do a mock draft Monday here in 2025.

1:42

Every day are those of you who come through

1:44

every single day. Greatly appreciate you. We got

1:46

episodes coming every single day through the NFL draft,

1:48

starting with last week. We've had like 10

1:50

episodes in the last 10 days. It's been a

1:52

lot of fun. A lot of research. We're

1:54

almost to the culmination of it all. the NFL

1:56

draft where all of our hard work is

1:58

going to be proven wrong and nothing we said is

2:00

going to happen and it's going to be a great

2:03

time. No, I'm just kidding, but it is going to

2:05

be a great time no matter what happens. If you're

2:07

new to the show, thanks for finding us.

2:09

Hopefully you enjoy it. Hopefully you come back locked

2:11

on commanders. is a daily podcast covering the

2:13

Washington commanders, part of the locks on podcast network,

2:15

your team every day. And today's episode is

2:17

brought to you by the all new 2025 Nissan

2:19

Armada. Stay tuned for the Armada player of

2:21

the week later in the show. So mock draft

2:23

Monday, but we're going to do it a

2:25

little bit differently. We didn't do mock draft Monday

2:27

last week. So I figure I owe you

2:29

two mock drafts. So we're going to do it

2:32

two different ways. One, we're to have an

2:34

eye on the future right now. The next one,

2:36

we're going to have my own future. But

2:38

later on and I'll get you to what

2:40

we mean by that because obviously every pick

2:42

is about the future because these are all

2:44

rookies and et cetera, et cetera. We are

2:46

going to use the pro football network. Mock's

2:49

draft simulator, NFL draft simulator, one of my

2:51

insiders pointed it out to me, said they really

2:53

enjoy, they liked it better than the PFF

2:55

version. I figured it's our last one if we're

2:57

going to use it. which I told them

2:59

I would. So if I'm not going to be

3:01

a liar, this has to be it. So

3:03

we're going to use it and we're to use

3:05

it for two mock drafts. I will tell

3:08

you, I actually did enjoy it as well. And

3:10

just like PFF, I don't know if I

3:12

agree with all the spots that guys were available

3:14

and we're drafting all that stuff, but you

3:16

know, who doesn't in the draft world? That's just

3:18

never going to be a thing. So this

3:20

first one, we're going to go ahead and we're

3:22

going to try. to look at a world

3:24

where Adam Peters is looking to recoup some of

3:26

the draft capital. He's spent this offseason, right?

3:28

So, trading picks for Laramie Tunsel, a new left

3:30

tackle, trading picks for Debo Stamill, a new

3:32

wide receiver, so on and so forth,

3:34

and try to get some of those picks

3:36

back in this year's draft, right? So, not

3:39

only are we looking to make pick players

3:41

this year, but we're also looking to recoup

3:43

some draft capital. The commanders come in with

3:45

five draft picks. First pick, is at number

3:47

29 in the first round. And

3:49

right away, I do like this feature where I

3:51

wish PFF would do is have other teams kind

3:53

of offer you trade packages. But

3:55

PFF does have that happen. And on the

3:57

other side of the phone, the Arizona

3:59

Cardinals are calling and the Tennessee Titans are

4:01

calling. The Arizona Cardinals offered us

4:03

a package where the Cardinals would get

4:05

the 29th overall pick in the first round,

4:07

and they would get pick 128, which

4:10

is the fourth round pick that the commanders

4:12

have from the Houston Texans. the Washington

4:14

commanders in turn would get pick number 47

4:16

in the second round. So they'd fall

4:18

back to pick number 47. They'd also get

4:20

pick number 78, which is in the

4:22

third round. So you enter the third round

4:24

where the commanders don't have a pick

4:26

currently and they would get a 2026 second

4:28

round pick, which of course would have

4:30

some value in there as well. So you

4:32

give up two picks this year, you

4:34

get two picks this year, your break even

4:36

in the amount of picks, but both

4:38

your picks now come in the top 100.

4:40

Whereas previously both those picks come in

4:42

the top 130. And then you get

4:44

a 2026 second round pick from the Arizona

4:46

Cardinals who hopefully are going to be all

4:48

that good. And that'll be a very high

4:50

pick, right? Uh, the Tennessee Titans package they

4:53

came up with, uh, the commanders would get

4:55

the 35th overall pick in this year's draft,

4:57

which is in the second round, but earlier

4:59

than the Cardinals pick in a 2026 second

5:01

round pick, the Titans would get pick number

5:03

29 in the first round and they would

5:05

get that same fourth round pick. So the

5:07

commanders are giving up the same thing. The

5:09

fourth, the fourth round pick they got from

5:11

the Texans. and the first round pick that

5:13

they got themselves in exchange for either two

5:15

picks and a second round next year or

5:18

one pick, a better pick this year and

5:20

a second round pick next year. So when

5:22

you look at the board here that the

5:24

Washington commanders have sitting in front of them,

5:26

defensive tackle, Kenneth Grant, Adam Michigan is available.

5:28

He's our number two detackle. Cornerback, Siobhan Ravel

5:30

is available from East Carolina. He's our number

5:32

five corner. Tackle Josh Simmons out of Ohio

5:34

State is available. Edge rusher Donovan as a

5:36

Raku out of Boston College is available. He's

5:38

our number one edge. Cornerback Trey

5:40

Amos out of Ole Miss is available. Our

5:43

number two corner. Our number three guard

5:45

Donovan Jackson out of Ohio State is available.

5:47

Our fifth safety Xavier Watts out of Notre Dame

5:49

is available. And our number one running back Trevon

5:51

Henderson out of Ohio State also available. So two

5:54

of our number ones, two of our number twos,

5:56

one of our number threes and two of our

5:58

number fives all available here at 29, which

6:00

It's good, but it also makes it a

6:02

little bit easier to go ahead and trade back.

6:05

If you know that that many of your

6:07

guys are still available on the board, really hard

6:09

here for me to pass on Ezrakiu. Honestly,

6:11

Diamond Ezrakiu has kind of become my favorite at

6:13

number 29, if he even gets to 29.

6:15

And I've got some buddies out there who are

6:17

tied to some teams who have said a

6:19

way he's getting to 29. Hopefully they're

6:21

wrong. Jordan Reed of ESPN actually in his

6:23

final seven round mock. sent as a rocket to

6:25

Washington number 29. So I'm like, okay, let's

6:27

see if Jordan Reed can be more right than

6:29

this guy. But kind of came into this

6:31

saying that we're going to trade back, we're going

6:33

to get future picks. So I'm going to

6:35

stick to that. Truthfully, like I said,

6:38

if Ezraq is available 29, I'll be shocked that

6:40

he's there. I'd want AP to

6:42

take them just for the record. But here

6:44

we are going to take the Titans

6:46

deal. So we're going to get the 35th

6:48

pick in the second round. We're going

6:50

to get a 2026 second round pick. And

6:52

we're going to send away our number

6:54

one pick, 29 overall and 128 in the

6:56

fourth round. It is rough because we

6:58

are losing net picks, right? Like we're going

7:00

from five picks to four this year,

7:02

but we're getting that second rounder. And it's

7:04

an earlier second rounder that we're getting

7:06

from the Tennessee Titans. And there's a reason

7:08

for that because at the 35th spots,

7:11

we're not picking. We're making another trade. The

7:13

Arizona Cardinals are back on the phone.

7:15

This time they want 35th to 35th overall

7:17

pick from us. They're going to give

7:19

us the 47th pick in the second round,

7:21

and they're going to give us a

7:23

20 -26 second round draft pick. So we're

7:25

going to go ahead and we're going to

7:27

do that because when we look at

7:29

the board, it's a 12 -pick drop, which

7:31

is steep, but we got 12 players, defensive

7:33

tackle, Walter Nolan at Ole Miss, Tennessee

7:35

Edge, James Pierce Jr., Ohio State tackle, Tyler

7:37

Lee Williams, de -tackle, Ohio State guard, Donovan

7:39

Jackson, Notre Dame safety, Xavier Watts, Notre

7:41

Dame corner, Benjamin Morris, Oregon tackle, Josh Connerly

7:43

Jr., Ole Miss receiver, Trey Harris. Arkansas,

7:45

Edge, Lee, and Jackson, Ole Miss, Corner, Trey

7:48

Amos, Ohio State running back, Trevion Henderson,

7:50

and Iowa State wide receiver Jalen Nol. All

7:52

available. That's 12 players.

7:54

We trade down 12 picks. We get

7:56

another 20 -26 second round pick, and

7:59

we know that we're going to get

8:01

one of those players. So we go

8:03

ahead. We make that trade. We move

8:05

down to number 47, and we get

8:07

running back, Trevion Henderson out of Ohio

8:09

State, the number one explosive back. on

8:11

our board, five foot 10, 202 pounds

8:13

currently projected to go in the second

8:15

round. So that tracks 4, 4, 3,

8:17

40, seven yards per carry in 2024,

8:20

21%, 21 .5 % broken and missed tackle percentage

8:22

in the season. High energy player, great

8:24

pass blocker, arguably or not arguably the best

8:26

pass protecting running back in this year's

8:28

class does have a lot of tread off

8:30

the tires from his time at Ohio

8:32

State, but you basically get him and you

8:35

get two second round draft picks. Next

8:37

year, that's a pretty good swap if you

8:39

ask me even though you are going

8:41

negative in the draft capital So that is

8:43

how we start off this first mock

8:45

draft with our eye a little bit on

8:47

the future future future 2026 but also

8:49

on our future here as we get potentially

8:51

the next number one running back for

8:53

the Washington commanders to play next to quarterback

8:56

Jane Daniels We'll finish the rest of

8:58

this mock and get into our other alternate

10:17

today's episode of locked on commanders mock

10:19

draft monday done two ways this way

10:21

We're kind of focusing on the future.

10:23

We've got two second round draft picks

10:25

collected in the future. It did cost

10:27

us one of our net picks here

10:29

in this year's draft, but we're back

10:31

on the board in the second round,

10:33

pick number 61. And in this case,

10:35

we did get a phone call. We'll

10:37

get to that here a second, but

10:39

we are going to stick. We are

10:41

going to pick and we are taking

10:43

edge rusher, princely human meal and add

10:45

up Ole Miss, our number two pass

10:48

rusher on our commander's big board, six

10:50

foot four, 245 pounds. 64,

10:52

244 pound edge rusher has a third

10:54

round projection. So 61st, big and second

10:56

round, not quite third round, right, but

10:58

not too terrible here. Uh, seven, three,

11:00

three, three cone shown a lot of

11:02

agility there. Had 11 sacks in 2024

11:04

for the Ole Miss, uh, Rebels with

11:06

55 total pressures, which is pretty good.

11:08

Great burst, good size, great hand

11:10

fighter. Uh, when he's in the line of

11:12

scrimmage, doesn't have a deep toolbox of moves. So

11:14

that's where Ryan Kerrigan is going to come

11:16

in, right? Where you get Ryan on the phone.

11:18

with princely is as quickly as possible and

11:20

kind of get some things done. Uh, not the

11:22

greatest run defender in the world. So this

11:24

is a pass rush specialist type of guy. We're

11:26

going to hopefully develop into a little bit

11:28

more than not the most physical type of players.

11:30

So we're certainly going to have to work

11:32

on that a little bit. So the trade offer

11:34

that we got here at the 61st overall

11:36

pick, we did get a call from the Cleveland

11:38

Browns. And truthfully, I really liked the offer

11:40

wanted to take it, but then I looked at

11:42

the board, I looked specifically at the edge

11:44

group. I was like, the edge group falls off.

11:46

princely human meal was there. We're going

11:49

to fall back too many picks to

11:51

feel confident that we're still going to have

11:53

him there. Uh, so, you know, I

11:55

really liked the capital that the Browns were

11:57

offering had to make the trader had to

11:59

go ahead and stick at number 61,

12:01

get our address or their princely human meal.

12:03

And which means that we don't pick again

12:05

till pick 205. So we go from

12:07

pick 61 to 205, uh, which is a

12:09

long, long time before you see your team,

12:11

uh, draft and we take At 205

12:13

in the sixth round, defensive tackle Tonka Hemingway

12:15

out of South Carolina, who actually didn't make

12:17

our defensive tackle power or a power rankings

12:19

big board. But he is a guy

12:21

that I like six foot three, 284 pounds.

12:23

Didn't crack our big board because of some

12:26

of the discriminators, but really like Tonka's

12:28

potential, really like his tools, really like his

12:30

potential athletic former defensive end, who is expected

12:32

in the NFL to play the four

12:34

eye, which is kind of a DM, but

12:36

inside the tackles. or across the tackles inside

12:38

shoulder, I should say, or five -tack, which

12:40

is the outside shoulder of the tackle. Four

12:42

-tack would be lined up straight up with

12:44

the tackle. So you're expecting him to

12:46

play four -eye, so inside the tackle shoulder, or

12:48

at five -tack, right outside the tackle shoulder.

12:50

So that's most likely where you're probably looking

12:52

at him, unless he puts us on

12:54

some weight, and then maybe you can move

12:56

him inside more, or you take off some

12:58

weight, maybe you can move him outside

13:00

a little bit more, too. That'll lead that,

13:03

obviously, to the coaching staff there. I had

13:05

to figure out what to do there,

13:07

but he's listed as the tackle, really calm

13:09

and deliming, whatever you want. So we have

13:11

a three picks. Trayvon Henderson

13:13

out of Ohio State, Ed Rusher, Prinsley,

13:15

Human Meal, and I will miss defense tackle,

13:17

Tonka Hemingway out of South Carolina. So

13:19

no safety, no corner, no receiver,

13:21

right? But that's kind of the price you have

13:23

to pay. If you're going to move up into,

13:26

if you're going to move, sorry, if you're

13:28

going to bring in draft capital for the

13:30

future for 2026 specifically, That's what

13:32

you're going to have to kind of do, right?

13:34

So we begin the draft with five picks. We

13:36

ended with three players, two 2026 second round picks.

13:38

That part is good because the Washington commander's organic

13:41

second round pick is going to go to Houston

13:43

next year as part of the Laramie Tunsel trade,

13:45

right? So now if you're the Washington commanders, you

13:47

have a first -rounder next year. You've got two second

13:49

-rounders that aren't yours. And in theory, should be

13:51

better than your organic second round pick. Houston, Texas

13:53

will take that later second round pick. Truthfully,

13:56

I like worrying about future problems in

13:58

the future. I don't like to cost

14:00

myself today to worry about tomorrow. So

14:02

that's why I decided I wanted to

14:05

do another one here. So this one,

14:07

we're not going to not take future

14:09

picks, or we're not going to like

14:11

just firmly discard them, but we're definitely

14:13

more interested in collecting more picks in

14:15

this year's draft to worry about this

14:17

year's roster. So we're going to do

14:19

that here. And we're to start off

14:21

at pick number 29. And once again,

14:24

Ed Ruscher, Dominez, Araku. out of boston

14:26

college who again i've got buddies in

14:28

the media who tell me probably not

14:30

going to happen but pfn is there

14:32

he's there this time around i'm not

14:34

passing on him so we're not trading

14:36

29 we're actually going to take diamond

14:38

ezraq or number one pass rushing edge

14:40

defender six two and a half 248

14:42

pound first round projection six nine four

14:45

three cone drill very fast shows a

14:47

lot of agility 14 sacks for ezraq

14:49

in 2024 60 pressures in 2024, great

14:51

production, long arms, superb athlete, sheds blocked

14:53

really well. Doesn't really have a bull

14:55

rush, little undersized, begin those arms and

14:57

the ability kind of, kind of mask

14:59

that. Not a contained guy, not a

15:01

guy that you're looking to be your

15:04

massive edge setter from a run defense

15:06

standpoint. Pass on him once for the

15:08

sake of the exercise, not going to

15:10

do it again. Donovan Ezraku, number

15:12

29 overall, that is our first round

15:14

pick in this second mock draft. 61st overall

15:16

pick comes and this is where we're

15:18

going to make our first trade. of the

15:20

event. Washington Commanders and Chicago

15:22

Bears are to execute a trade. The Washington

15:24

Commanders, rather, are going to get the

15:27

72nd pick overall in the third round, 148th

15:29

pick in the fifth round, and a

15:31

2026th fifth round pick. Now, remember, next year's

15:33

fourth round pick is also gone. So

15:35

get a fifth round pick. It's not quite

15:37

the fourth, but it does at least

15:39

help assuage that just a little bit. The

15:41

Chicago Bears, in turn, get the 61st

15:43

overall pick in the second round. They take

15:45

running back Quinn Sean Judkins, out of

15:47

Ohio State. And before you ask, yes, Trevion

15:49

Henderson was already gone. If he wasn't,

15:51

he would have been the pick, but he

15:53

was not there. So we go ahead

15:55

and we go ahead and bite the bolt.

15:57

We take the pick there. Now we've

15:59

moved back to 72. 72 comes on the

16:01

board. And interestingly enough, old

16:03

Adam Peters friend, John Lynch calls up and

16:05

says, Hey, Adam, I want that 72nd

16:07

pick, man. What do we got to do

16:09

to move three spots up? Look

16:12

to the board. We're okay with it. Commanders

16:14

get pick number 75 in the third round

16:16

and they get the 227th pick in the

16:18

seventh round. The San Francisco 49ers get the

16:20

72nd overall pick. I don't remember who they

16:22

took. It doesn't matter what the Washington commanders

16:24

get was wide receiver Kyle Williams out of

16:26

Washington state who did not finish top seven

16:28

in our big board, but he did finish

16:30

11th 511 190 pounds second round projection. We

16:32

get him here in the third round. I

16:34

know there were some commanders fans who were

16:36

very offended by my Kyle Williams take, but

16:38

I understand this. He's on our big board.

16:40

He's on our top seven, but he's on

16:42

the big board, which means he's good. Like

16:44

he's a good player, right? He's just to

16:46

me, not as good as some of the

16:48

other players, uh, four, four, 40. So not

16:50

a super burner, but certainly not too low.

16:52

Uh, top three and deep targets in college

16:54

last year, uh, amongst our group of, of

16:56

evaluated receivers, I should say from Washington state,

16:58

uh, can play the slot. You can play

17:00

outside. really good against press man coverage, which

17:02

you like a lot. Uh, doesn't have the

17:04

greatest hands does have some drop issues in

17:06

the past. That'll be something that Bobby Ingram,

17:08

the commander's wide receivers coach works on with

17:10

him and things just kind of look a

17:12

little bit clunky, right? They look a little

17:14

bit labored. You like guys to kind of

17:16

look natural, look fluid. When Kyle Williams has

17:18

to do things on the football field, it

17:20

kind of looks like a dude who's putting

17:22

in a lot of effort. If that makes

17:24

sense. For for that evaluation coming back in

17:26

the fourth round pick number 128 We turn

17:28

to safety Malachi more out of Alabama who

17:30

again was not top seven in our big

17:32

board But he was on the big board

17:34

number 12 in our safety big board 5

17:36

1196 pounds fifth round projection here. So we

17:38

get Williams a little bit later than in

17:40

theory he should we get Malachi more a

17:42

little bit earlier than there You should four

17:44

five seven forty is not gonna blow you

17:46

away Pretty good tackling numbers and coverage numbers

17:48

football IQ Shows up on the

17:50

tape team captain and Alabama. So that definitely

17:52

means something about who he is Mentally and

17:55

in processing and all that stuff not great

17:57

in run support. So he's not like a

17:59

Jeremy chin and all that stuff I still

18:01

think you know, he's these depth guys a

18:03

fourth rounder You're not necessarily looking for him

18:05

to come in and compete to be a

18:07

starter if he did that'd be fantastic That's

18:09

not where you're necessarily bringing him in to

18:11

do not a great block shutter So, you

18:13

know a little bit stuff to work on

18:15

there as well. We come back in the

18:17

fifth round and we get At the

18:19

148th pick, we get running back RJ

18:21

Harvey out of UCF, our sixth running

18:23

back on our big board, 5 '8", 205

18:25

pounds, very solid, solidified, stocky type of dude,

18:27

4 ,440. Again, I don't know that I

18:29

would expect him to actually be here

18:31

at this point, but he was, so

18:33

we're going to go ahead and take

18:35

advantage it. Toughness is a big, big upside

18:38

with RJ Harvey. Pass protection, not as

18:40

much. 640 touches, a lot of

18:42

tread off the tire. So there's a little

18:44

of concern there, but in his rookie year,

18:46

you're looking at it and probably be like

18:48

your third back rotational type of dude. See

18:50

if you can grow him into more of

18:52

a contributor in year two. Staying in the

18:54

fifth round, we got picked 205. We're going

18:56

offensive linemen, Tyler Cooper out of Minnesota, who

18:58

comes in on our big board, not in

19:00

our top seven of interior offensive linemen, 66,

19:02

302 pounds. 24 reps on the

19:04

bench. He's got a good amount

19:06

of strength, 4, 8, 4, 20 yard

19:08

shuttle. So he's got some good

19:10

lateral movement. And his run blocking grade

19:13

was pretty sinking high compared to

19:15

the guys that we evaluated in that

19:17

group. A lot of experience

19:19

in the form of six year college career

19:21

played left or right garden. He's a

19:23

guard. He's not a tackle. He's a guard.

19:25

And not the most athletic guy, not

19:27

the strongest guy. But he does have some

19:29

interesting traits. Again, as a fifth round

19:31

pick, you're looking to develop him over time.

19:33

You're not looking for him to come

19:35

in and challenge Nick Allegretti in 2025. This

19:37

is more of a depth player who

19:39

can also potentially in 2026 make some noise

19:42

in training camp. Moving into the sixth

19:44

round, 227 overall defense tackle. Howard Cross, the

19:46

third out of Notre Dame, not ranked

19:48

on our big board of D tackles. He's

19:50

a little bit undersized, but he's very

19:52

disruptive, plays with good leverage and twitch, struggles

19:54

against power, sheds blocks while he's a

19:56

pass rushing. Like you're to get a package.

19:59

Here, like things like that, you're not

20:01

going to bring him in your big package,

20:03

your goal line, things like that. He's

20:05

a pass rushing interior defensive lineman. And finally,

20:08

pick overall, we go with linebacker Nick Martin

20:10

out of Oklahoma State. Uh, haven't done

20:13

linebackers yet. That's actually our next episode of

20:15

lockdown commander. So come back for that.

20:17

Uh, 511 and a half, 221 pounds, two

20:19

year starter at Oklahoma State, but he

20:21

was injured in 2024, hurt his knee, missed

20:23

a lot of that year, highly productive

20:25

when he is on the field, speed, athleticism,

20:27

blitzing ability, special teams. You know, more

20:29

of an undersized Frankie Luvu than he is

20:32

like a Bobby Wagner, right? But he's

20:34

a special teams guy. Come in there with

20:36

like Jordan McGee, Tyler Rollins, those guys

20:38

contribute on special teams this evening. You find

20:40

a niche for him to fill, uh,

20:42

in the roster as we move forward. So

20:44

this mock draft, we get seven picks.

20:46

Ed Rusher dominant as a Rocky in the

20:49

first round, wide receiver, Kyle Williams in

20:51

the third, fourth round, we get safety, Malachi

20:53

Moore, two picks in the fifth, running

20:55

back RJ Harvey guard, Tyler Cooper, six round.

20:57

We get detackle, Howard, cross the third,

20:59

seventh round, Nick Martin. linebacker out of oklahoma

21:01

state and we get a 2026 pick

21:03

in the fifth round from the chicago bear

21:05

so seven picks and a future pick

21:08

uh gotta say i think i like that

21:10

one just a little bit better so

21:12

hopefully adam peters a little bit more focused

21:14

on the future right now versus the

21:16

future uh coming up in 2026 and beyond

21:18

so those are two mock drafts for

21:20

this final mock draft monday but we still

21:22

have time so what are we going

21:25

to do we're going to look at chad

21:27

roider's final seven round mock as we

21:29

enter an NFL Draft Week here on Lockdown

21:31

Commanders, part of the Lockdown Podcast Network,

21:33

your team every day. And

21:37

we're doing that today. Thanks to our friends

21:39

over at Nissan, the Armada player of

21:41

the week is brought to you by our

21:43

friends at Nissan and the all new 2025

21:45

Nissan Armada. Each week, we're taking a look

21:47

at our draft prospects to pick one guy

21:49

that stands apart, the guy we believe showcased

21:51

the strength and the power needed to push

21:53

the commander's team. Forward as we look ahead

21:55

to next season and this week's Armada and

21:57

clear cut player of the week is of

21:59

course our number one safety in this episode

22:02

Nick even worry out of South Carolina. I

22:04

think he's got the speed He's at the

22:06

athleticism. He's at the box presence. He's got

22:08

the coverage ability to just be kind a

22:10

do -it -all Safety, I think there's a rookie

22:12

probably not gonna be a three -down guy

22:14

I think you're gonna see the little bit

22:16

of rotation with some of the vets and

22:18

and all that stuff And that's fine, but

22:20

I think he's a guy that certainly can

22:22

grow into his role as the season continues

22:24

to grow, to grow and just grow with

22:26

the team. And, you know, you get

22:28

them for four years. If you get them at

22:30

29, you get a fifth year option. I

22:32

think it all just kind of works out, right?

22:34

So it's clear that our player of the

22:36

week is out here ready to conquer the road

22:38

ahead with confidence, just like you can the

22:40

all new Nissan Armada or any of their outstanding

22:42

vehicles. So take the Nissan Armada Rogue or

22:44

Pathfinder and go find your next big adventure shop,

22:46

NissanUSA .com. Continuing

22:50

with our final mock draft Monday of

22:52

2025. We will not do another mock

22:54

draft Monday until 2026. And we're going

22:56

to wrap it up here. And I've

22:58

already given you two mock drafts from

23:00

me. Now we're going to kind of

23:02

review a mock draft from Chad Reuter

23:04

of NFL .com dropped his final seven

23:06

round NFL mock draft. There was a

23:08

good amount of trades here, not involving

23:10

the Washington commanders, but at number 29,

23:12

the Washington commanders gets Donovan as a

23:14

Raku edge rusher out of Boston college.

23:16

And again, I'm telling you. I've

23:18

got a good amount of people telling me

23:20

Dominez Raku is not going to be there

23:22

in over 29, but PFN had him there

23:24

for us twice. Chad Reuters got

23:27

him here. Jordan Reed of ESPN had him there.

23:29

I mean, look, I'm not telling you it's

23:31

going to happen, but Dominez Raku, I mean. If

23:33

it's not going to happen, it's going to

23:35

be a little bit of a heartbreak for me,

23:37

to be quite honest with you. Of course,

23:39

I'm also happy with the trade back. But Chad

23:41

Reuters said, quote, as Rocky brings speed off

23:43

the edge, as well as a very effective spin

23:45

move. In Washington, he'd be used as a

23:47

designated pass rusher as a rookie, giving the team

23:49

needed juice after losing leading 2024 SAC or

23:51

Dante Fowler, excuse me, in

23:53

free agency, end quote. So Dante Fowler,

23:55

Jr., headed back to the Cowboys, was

23:57

used in that Micah Parsons role. Micah

23:59

Parsons used very effectively by the Dallas

24:01

Cowboys defense. That was created by Dan

24:03

Quinn and Joe with Junior. Don Menez -Racu

24:05

coming in its edge, but he's not

24:08

a DN. He's not a four tech.

24:10

He's not a five tech. You

24:12

know, wide nine, sure. But standing up a lot

24:14

of times, kind of like an outside linebacker

24:16

type. He's going to be a Michael Parsons type

24:18

of role guy. And I think that he would

24:20

fit very, very well with Joe with what

24:22

Dan Quinn and Joe with Junior want to do

24:24

with this defense. So that's the first round pick.

24:26

So I just thought it was kind of interesting

24:28

going into the second round. The commanders.

24:31

Now Carson Schwesinger linebacker out of UCLA

24:33

and this is not a player that

24:35

I've done a lot of work on

24:38

before today This is part of he's

24:40

part of our linebacker ranking. So we'll

24:42

get to that here on the next

24:44

episode But he's six two two and

24:46

a half or six two and a

24:48

half and two hundred forty two pounds

24:50

linebacker out of UCLA second round projection

24:52

Lance Zerlein talks about him being a

24:54

walk -on going to be an all -american

24:56

You'll love that kind of struggle and

24:58

that's the kind of thing that really

25:00

resonates with a coach like Dan Quinn.

25:02

We've heard him talk time and time

25:04

again about appreciating guys who go through

25:06

struggle, overcome that struggle, and are able

25:08

to produce. So not a lot of

25:10

trades here, no trades involving the Washington

25:12

commanders, I should say. So we go

25:14

to the fourth round here at pick

25:17

number 128. The Washington commanders get Jason

25:19

Marshall Jr. Cornerback out of Florida, who

25:21

is part of our cornerback group evaluation

25:23

in big board. Moving on to day

25:25

three now, the Washington commanders come back

25:27

and get a wide receiver in the

25:29

sixth round. Pick number 205, the Isaac

25:31

Tesla Out of Arkansas, Tesla comes in

25:33

six, four, 214 pounds. So you want

25:35

a tall, tall target? You're going to

25:37

get one here. Um, look,

25:40

we're at a four, four, three, 40,

25:42

which is six, four is incredibly impressive.

25:45

Uh, big slot. I mean,

25:47

kind of like on tape, kind of

25:49

looks like Luke McAfrey, except bigger, right? Cause

25:51

he's certainly, uh, taller and a solid

25:53

senior bowl. Um, is going to

25:55

be a guy that you can create mismatches

25:58

for and all that stuff. But, you

26:00

know, again, as a six round pick, you're

26:02

looking at potential, you're looking at, you

26:04

know, could be, could he be a gunner,

26:06

those types of things, um, play to

26:08

Arkansas, not exactly the most prolific offense in

26:10

the world. So you're going to see

26:12

what you can unlock with him with offensive

26:14

coordinator, Cliff Kingsbury, of course, but you

26:16

do get a receiver here, uh, for the

26:18

Washington commanders in Chad Reuters, finally seven

26:20

round mock draft. And then you'd also get

26:22

a running back, LaQuinte Allen. Pick number

26:25

245 in the seventh round, six foot tall,

26:27

204 pound running back out of Syracuse,

26:29

which would make Sam 48 the Washington Post

26:31

happy because he's a Syracuse alum. Not

26:34

a lot of data on him, but

26:36

versatile back with adequate size and speed, quote

26:38

unquote, is what Lance Irland says. So

26:40

good potential. future guy. And when

26:42

you talk about the washroom, there's running back

26:44

room again, Brian Robinson, Jr. Austin Eckler, Jeremy

26:46

McNichols, Chris Rodriguez, Jr. None of those guys

26:48

under contract for 2026. So there's a seventh

26:50

round pick, but he's a guy that's going

26:52

to come in, possibly a practice squad player,

26:54

have the opportunity to earn a spot, make

26:57

some noise, do things like that.

26:59

And then potentially next year, you're looking at

27:01

a guy who's at the bottom of the roster,

27:03

but certainly on the roster. Don't know that

27:05

I would necessarily expect him to overcome Jeremy McNichols,

27:07

but he's a little bit more of a

27:09

run. or a past catching option, uh, come out

27:11

of school. So certainly some value there. And

27:13

of course, if you can show up on special

27:15

teams a little bit, uh, doing some things

27:17

like what Chris Rodriguez Jr. does on special teams

27:19

from time to time, certainly wouldn't hurt his

27:21

stock. So there's shadow Reuters final seven round mock

27:23

draft. Again, Jordan Reed also had a final

27:25

seven round mock draft on ESPN. If you want

27:27

to go check that out, but we're not

27:29

going to cover that one here, bringing three mock

27:32

drafts, one focusing on getting as many draft

27:34

picks for the future back as possible. Didn't like

27:36

that one as much personally. Let me know

27:38

what you thought. Second one, still willing and ready

27:40

to trade and get some more picks back.

27:42

But this time we focus more on getting picks

27:44

back in 2025, end up with seven players.

27:46

Also got a fifth round pick for 2026. So

27:48

we kind of contributed there a little bit

27:50

anyway. Definitely liked that draft class a little bit

27:52

more. And then we looked at Chad Reuters

27:54

seven round mock draft from NFL .com. That's going

27:56

to wrap up today's episode. Our next episode, we'll

27:58

continue our position group, big board rankings with

28:00

the linebacker position. We're looking to get linebackers next.

28:02

We're looking to get tackles. We're going to

28:04

do one last mail bag before the draft. And

28:06

then we'll see where we are in time.

28:08

If we can get more position group, big boards

28:10

out there, we will do so. Or maybe

28:12

we'll try to combine all of them. If I'm

28:14

really crazy and just do one massive big

28:16

board of all the players we've studied. We'll see

28:18

how crazy I'm feeling. Uh, in the meantime,

28:20

we've got questions or comments. All you gotta do
