0:50

you just so hashtag over

0:52

it? Are you at the

0:54

place where you just can

0:56

not you've reached your

0:59

limit? It's

1:01

done. You are cooked.

1:03

You are toast. You

1:06

do not want this

1:09

pattern or relationship

1:12

or job or frustration

1:16

anymore. Congratulations.

1:20

You're in the right

1:23

year. 20, 25. You're

1:25

right on time.

1:28

Conversely. or

1:30

1:32

are you just so ready

1:34

to ripen and to

1:37

bloom and to become

1:39

the next version

1:41

of your beautiful

1:43

self? Are you just

1:46

ready for a win? Do

1:48

you want to

1:50

finally, finally, finally

1:52

see the results

1:54

of all your hard work?

1:57

or create your magnum opus.

1:59

or maybe create

2:02

some mini little

2:05

masterpieces every week

2:07

or every month. You

2:09

really ready to get

2:12

out of cocooning and

2:14

want to rebirth

2:16

yourself and renew

2:19

yourself. Congratulations.

2:23

You're also in

2:25

the right year. 2025.

2:27

Welcome. And

2:29

before you say, Sarah, how

2:31

are you in my head?

2:34

How are you reading me?

2:36

How have you been

2:38

getting access to my

2:40

diary or my voice

2:42

notes to my besties?

2:45

Let me just say all

2:47

I'm doing is sharing

2:49

some of the interpretations

2:53

of the energy of this

2:55

year and the archetypes.

2:58

of this year. I have known

3:00

that it was going to

3:02

feel like this for a year

3:04

because a year ago

3:06

I started creating many

3:09

moons. So if you

3:11

want guidance that is

3:13

very personalized to this

3:15

year there are several

3:17

opportunities that you can

3:19

enter into pretty easily.

3:22

The first is many moons

3:24

2025. We still have some

3:26

copies that you can order

3:29

from the studio today. If

3:31

you don't want a spiritual

3:33

guide and a planner, we

3:36

also just released some

3:38

print-on-demand versions of Many

3:40

Moons that don't have

3:43

the planner part. They're

3:45

literally just my writings,

3:48

the contributors writings, and...

3:50

the different monthly overviews

3:52

and the moons with

3:54

many, many, many free

3:56

pages for you to

3:59

write. So it's more

4:01

of a guide plus a

4:03

journal for all of you

4:05

note takers. So there's that.

4:08

We've also released our digital

4:10

version of Many Moons as

4:12

a planner. So we have

4:15

all of that that's all

4:17

easily accessible. We also announced

4:20

this just so you know

4:22

to our newsletter a couple

4:24

of weeks ago. So if

4:27

you are not subscribed. to

4:29

the newsletter and you want to

4:31

know about everything we're doing,

4:33

please subscribe. We also have,

4:35

I'm like so excited for this, if

4:37

you're like no I don't like

4:40

planners, I don't like reading, but

4:42

I do like listening to podcasts

4:44

and I do like listening to

4:46

lectures and I do like learning

4:48

from you Sarah and I want to

4:50

go deeper and I want.

4:52

the stuff that you share

4:54

with your clients and the

4:57

things you share with your

4:59

students, the studio has a

5:01

January jumpstart. We have our

5:03

very popular archetype of the

5:05

year workshop that's coming up

5:07

very very soon and Roman

5:09

ends in just a couple

5:11

of days on Thursday evening.

5:13

We have a offering that

5:15

I was told to do.

5:17

just dropped in and so

5:19

I'm a little nervous about

5:21

it because it's very different

5:23

than other things I have

5:25

offered but I'm getting excited

5:27

about it. It's a workshop

5:30

called Mystic Vision so if

5:32

you're interested in mysticism and

5:34

you want some really simple

5:36

breakdowns on how to apply

5:38

mysticism to your daily life

5:40

you want this workshop and

5:42

then we have this pretty

5:45

exciting workshop if you're like F.

5:47

Tarot. I don't care about

5:49

mysticism. I just want to

5:51

make some changes in my life

5:53

and I want simple, actionable

5:56

guidance on how to do so at

5:58

the end of the month. we're doing

6:00

a future you workshop where

6:03

I'm going to talk about

6:05

science-backed practices and mindsets for

6:08

expansion and growth, I'm going

6:10

to lead you through a

6:13

highly experiential reflection process where

6:15

you are going to be

6:18

asked, I'm like sitting your

6:20

little bum down and making

6:23

you answer questions. about where

6:25

you want to go and

6:28

then you create your own

6:30

roadmap that you can work

6:32

with practically throughout the year.

6:35

I've only done this in

6:37

private client sessions. They have

6:39

loved this process so I'm

6:41

ready to bring it to

6:44

more people. If you want

6:46

to sign up for all three

6:48

workshops at a 15% discount, we

6:50

also have a bundle. available

6:53

to you that will

6:55

be available for purchase

6:57

also via this Thursday.

6:59

So if you want

7:01

the discount, please order

7:04

that soon. If not, you

7:06

can just order the workshops,

7:08

a la cart, like one

7:10

by one. If you are

7:13

listening to this. After the

7:15

fact, if it is March

7:17

and you just started listening

7:19

to the podcast, welcome. I'm

7:21

so happy you're here. Hello.

7:23

Hi. Thanks for being here. You

7:25

can get all of this as

7:27

replays and downloads that you can

7:30

listen to EasyPZ at your own

7:32

pace. You know, you can listen

7:34

for 20 minutes, journal, can listen

7:36

for an hour. You can, I

7:38

think we're going to start doing

7:40

both just audio. and video in

7:42

case you know you just want

7:45

to listen in your earbuds i

7:47

know a lot of people like

7:49

to listen to my workshops while

7:51

they clean the house or when

7:53

they're watching their kid so i

7:55

know that audio only is

7:57

usually easiest so that is

8:00

What's happening and how you can

8:02

work with me and support the

8:04

studio and also support yourself? I

8:06

mean we create Products to help

8:08

you support yourself. So that's how

8:10

you can work with us this

8:13

January February We have a

8:15

couple of very exciting offerings as

8:17

well that I'm thrilled about I've

8:19

already announced them to the newsletter,

8:22

too And I'm not going to

8:24

talk about them because it's still

8:26

just January, but if you want

8:29

to know what's on deck I've

8:31

gotten feedback from folks that they

8:33

want to know way ahead of

8:35

time when something is happening. And

8:38

quite frankly, running an intuitive business

8:40

doesn't always allow for that.

8:42

I don't know what's going to

8:45

happen six months from now,

8:47

especially the last few years

8:49

when I've been really compromised.

8:51

But now that I'm feeling

8:53

better. I kind of know

8:56

far out or further out than

8:58

I ever have before. So I

9:00

want to do everyone a solid

9:03

and I want to do everyone

9:05

a courtesy, especially for those folks

9:07

who want to plan or who

9:10

need to make different payments and

9:12

all of that stuff. So I

9:14

literally have until the end of

9:17

February all blocked out and I

9:19

have let the newsletter folks and

9:21

the patrons know what we're

9:23

doing. Now let's get

9:26

into this week's episode,

9:28

which is all about

9:30

our hermit year. Last

9:33

year for our

9:35

strength year, I

9:38

essentially recorded an

9:40

off-the-cove channeling. A

9:42

lot of my strength

9:44

year, I essentially

9:46

recorded an

9:49

off-the-cove channeling. A

9:51

lot of my

9:53

creation process involves

9:56

tuning into my

9:58

intuition sure of course,

10:00

isn't that what creativity

10:02

is? But it's also tuning in

10:04

a lot to what the universe

10:07

or my guides or, you know,

10:09

whatever my frequency is picking up

10:11

on, you know, I know some

10:13

folks consider it, their muse or

10:15

their higher self, but I really

10:17

do see it as my guides.

10:19

I really do feel them as

10:22

my guides, my allies, my helpers,

10:24

my angels. They tell me often

10:26

what to bring through and how

10:28

to bring it through. What that

10:30

means sometimes is an offering I

10:32

myself would not consider and in

10:35

fact is in my growth edge

10:37

like it's like whoa no no

10:40

no no I don't want to

10:42

do that you know this happens

10:44

with my workshops too

10:46

for example That second

10:48

workshop I'm presenting soon, it's

10:51

called Mystic Vision, and it's

10:53

a departure from how I

10:55

present and what I present.

10:57

It's something new I haven't

10:59

done before. It's definitely a

11:01

growth edge. And I'm a little

11:03

nervous and scared, but Spirit said,

11:05

go more in this direction. We

11:07

want your work to go more in

11:10

this direction. And I trust them. It's

11:12

like a trust fall. And now that I

11:14

look back on the January jumpstar

11:17

offering. I promise

11:19

this is all going to make sense,

11:21

I promise you, okay? It's meta, but

11:23

it's a bit of a holy trinity

11:25

that you can use for your

11:27

templates for creation if you so choose. The

11:29

first offering, a hermit year, that's

11:31

what I'm presenting this Saturday, it's

11:33

what I already know, combined with

11:35

what wants to come through and

11:37

be fresh. Like I could talk

11:39

about the hermit, I could talk about

11:42

archetypes, no problem, easy, easy, you

11:44

know, it is not a lift for me,

11:46

it's my... Learn knowledge, my book knowledge, plus

11:48

my knowledge of the card through my

11:50

own experience as a reader, someone who's

11:52

been studying and working with the tarot,

11:54

you know, for more than some of

11:56

you have been alive on the planet

11:58

at this point, plus whatever. channeling that

12:00

wants to come through me about the

12:03

energies of the year. You know, that's

12:05

what you get in these private workshops.

12:07

Like I tell you what wants to

12:10

come through and how to best work

12:12

with this year, like a guide. Like

12:14

it's predictive, essentially. It's where I share

12:16

some of my predictions. I don't share

12:19

my predictions publicly anymore. I only share

12:21

them privately in my classes or through

12:23

many moons. So if you want to

12:25

get more channelings for me, you can

12:28

sign up. This second workshop is the

12:30

edgy one. I didn't even begin to

12:32

get a structure for it until around the

12:34

solstice and that kind of scared me in

12:37

a way. But now it's exciting and

12:39

it's about bringing more mysticism into

12:41

the modern world and making it

12:44

more applicable and useful, making spirituality

12:46

practical because why else would we

12:48

do it? Right? That's the new.

12:50

It's this offering I was given

12:52

and if you're there. Please be

12:55

supportive because I'll be a little

12:57

bit, like, wobbly while I present.

12:59

In the third workshop, it's this

13:01

process. I've only used privately on

13:04

one-on-ones. It's something I developed personally.

13:06

Then I brought it in with

13:08

clients because I thought it would be

13:10

useful. Now I can stand on it.

13:12

Enough clients have said, wow, this is

13:14

great. I love this. So I have

13:16

this evidence that it's useful. So we

13:18

can think about this as the mix

13:21

between the known and the mystery. The

13:23

known is, I don't know, it can

13:25

be a little bit boring.

13:27

The unknown can be super

13:29

scary. And when we blend

13:32

the two, we, I think, we

13:34

get growth. We get innovation.

13:36

These templates are the

13:38

blend. The templates are

13:40

with starting what you

13:42

know and is familiar and

13:45

then trying out different

13:47

things over time. This is

13:49

the year. Our hermit year.

13:51

It's culmination and the

13:53

new. And so what I'm doing

13:56

here for you is trying

13:58

to model these times. through

14:00

what I'm doing and how

14:02

I'm doing it energetically and

14:04

literally how I am literally

14:07

working, i.e. how I make my money

14:09

and how I am utilizing

14:12

my energy, which is this mix of

14:14

this is what I know and

14:16

now I'm going out into the

14:18

unknown. So take that however

14:20

you'd like, that's like a

14:23

little freebie for you for

14:25

this year to think about

14:27

how you want to apply

14:29

it. Try it however you want

14:31

and for me the way

14:33

that I'm thinking of this is

14:36

like Maybe it'll bomb. Maybe

14:38

it'll be a failure, but

14:40

I don't care. I don't give

14:42

a F anymore really like I

14:45

don't I'm kind of I'm

14:47

kind of done with I guess

14:49

like shame based off or ascribing

14:52

value to something

14:54

that's popular in works

14:56

and like ascribing, oh, I'm a

14:58

bad person, or oh, I should

15:01

have my tail between my legs

15:03

if something doesn't work. This is

15:05

also the energy of the hermit

15:07

that I really am inviting all

15:09

of you to step into, and

15:12

I'll talk about why this is

15:14

more in the workshop, because we're

15:16

preparing essentially in the hermit for

15:18

a more non-duallistic experience. And I'll

15:21

go into that more, maybe a

15:23

little bit here, but absolutely in

15:25

the workshop. So, about this

15:27

episode, I checked in with

15:29

my intuition guides and I said,

15:31

do you want me to straight

15:34

up channel this episode again? In

15:36

the Strength Year episode, It was literally

15:38

my heart talking. You can go back

15:40

and hear, I think I cried a

15:42

couple times, which like I don't, I

15:44

don't do when I'm channeling publicly, you

15:47

know, I get tear, you can hear

15:49

me, I'm a cry or I'm fine

15:51

with that, I get teary a little

15:53

bit with certain guests because they're just

15:55

so mind blowing, I'm like visibly moved

15:58

by what's happening in the container. of

16:00

our session. So I'm not ashamed of

16:02

that either, but like the stranger episode

16:04

is my heart talking and it

16:06

was the most downloaded episode of

16:08

the year. And Spirit said, yeah,

16:10

if you want, you can do

16:12

more episodes like that, but we're

16:14

not doing that now. They were really

16:17

clear. They're like, what this episode

16:19

is. is this is the episode that

16:21

we want everyone to listen to

16:23

before you take the class. So

16:25

just to get, they're like, we

16:27

want everyone to get this episode,

16:29

listen to this episode. So we're

16:32

all kind of on the same

16:34

page. And I think this is

16:36

really smart and I think this is

16:38

what they're going to have me do

16:40

throughout the year when I am teaching

16:42

classes. is that like these are the

16:45

episodes to get folks all on the

16:47

same page before we enter into the

16:49

course or the workshop and it's interesting

16:52

because it like solved a problem for

16:54

me. My intuition, my guides solved this

16:56

problem for me. This is all very

16:58

hermit by the way. Can you understand?

17:01

I think you can understand but here

17:03

we go. The problem I had was

17:05

like my teachings tend to be a

17:07

little bit high level because I've been doing

17:09

this for a while and all there is

17:12

really. on like a lot of

17:14

spirituality stuff is the 101

17:16

stuff, which is beautiful.

17:19

Everyone needs 101. Hello,

17:21

everyone needs to start

17:23

somewhere. And I know that

17:26

there is a gap for folks

17:28

who want a 200 level, 300

17:30

level, who are more advanced in

17:33

their practice, because that's

17:35

what I needed. So I want

17:37

to make my work accessible

17:40

to... as many people as

17:42

possible, obviously, right? As many

17:44

as aligned folks as possible.

17:46

So this is a way I can

17:48

do that. So if someone isn't as,

17:51

you know, hasn't spent as much

17:53

time with the tarot or anything

17:55

and needs an entry way, they

17:57

can use the podcast for that.

18:00

And then when they're ready

18:02

to hop into some of

18:04

my classes, then they can

18:06

have the information and education

18:08

they need. So I was

18:10

like, oh, I love this.

18:13

Thank you for solving this

18:15

problem for me, guides, spirit.

18:17

And this is also very

18:19

hermit. It's relying on

18:21

the unseen, the unknown, our etheric

18:23

support systems, our angels,

18:26

our ancestors, our guides.

18:28

to help us solve

18:30

problems in the material

18:32

realm. So I love

18:34

that I'm being shown

18:36

and I'm being offered

18:38

up these answers and

18:40

these solutions as I, it's

18:42

all very meta, it's all

18:44

very closed loop system so

18:46

that I can show you

18:48

how to apply the archetype

18:51

in real time to your

18:53

own life. Are you a

18:55

teacher or workshop creator?

18:57

Do you rely on your

18:59

podcast teachings to make money?

19:02

No. Maybe, you know, like,

19:04

I don't even know if

19:07

you work, like, I don't

19:10

even know what you're

19:12

doing, right? Can you

19:14

apply this to something?

19:16

Yeah. Ask the divine. Ask

19:19

your helpers. Ask

19:21

your helpers. Ask. your

19:23

mentors, ask your wise

19:26

self, ask the trees,

19:28

pray, meditate, look

19:30

for solutions in

19:33

the unknown, ask for

19:35

what you can't see

19:37

and what you can't

19:39

know, ask for guidance

19:42

with your whole heart,

19:44

your whole body, your

19:46

whole soul. This is like

19:49

a big, big prompt

19:51

for the year. So,

19:53

this is going to be,

19:55

this episode is sort

19:57

of like Hermit 101,

19:59

Moons. studio style. By the

20:01

end of this episode, you'll have

20:03

a solid understanding of the basics

20:06

of the hermit. You'll know what

20:08

it's for. You know how you

20:10

can work with it when it

20:12

comes up in a reading. And

20:14

you'll really be ready to take

20:17

off and embody it and commune

20:19

with it. And most importantly, apply

20:21

it in your life and in

20:23

your year in our workshop. All

20:26

right, here we go. So

20:37

the first little bit

20:39

that I just want to

20:41

cover for everyone is like

20:44

when you're like, why is

20:46

she saying this year? 2025

20:48

is a hermit year. In

20:51

numerology, we add up all

20:53

the numbers and then we

20:55

use what all the numbers

20:58

are, the result, to get

21:00

the energetics of

21:02

the year. So two plus two

21:04

plus five equals nine.

21:06

That's our number for

21:09

the year. One of the

21:11

ways we can work with

21:13

patterns is through numerology

21:16

and archetypes. There

21:18

are so many other ways,

21:20

right? Through seasons, cultural

21:23

shifts, like what's happening

21:26

on the planet, like post-post-post

21:29

capitalism, or... you know, climate

21:31

crisis era, there are many,

21:34

many ways. None of them

21:36

are better, none of them

21:38

are worse. They're all very,

21:41

very, very relevant. I enjoy

21:43

the archetypal way because

21:45

it's an embodiment of the

21:48

energy and by the end of the

21:50

year, you also really know the card

21:52

well. You can really see the

21:54

patterns and it is usually

21:57

accurate, you know, like was last

21:59

year not a... strength here? I

22:01

mean, that year was hard. I always

22:03

know when strength guard comes up,

22:05

we're gonna need it. So the

22:07

hermit, a lot of us are really

22:09

stoked. A lot of us

22:12

are cheering. Because like introverts

22:14

unite, you know, like mystics, it's

22:16

our time, it's on, it's

22:18

magic and miracles and spiritualism

22:21

and connection. And don't you

22:23

already feel this out large

22:25

in the culture? Aliens? class

22:28

consciousness rising,

22:30

synchronicities,

22:32

a much more heightened distrust

22:34

of the media, like

22:37

government, big corporations,

22:39

and sadly, let's face

22:42

it, each other, you

22:44

know, there's always big

22:47

shadows with every archetype.

22:49

One thing, interestingly, enough,

22:51

which I love as I again

22:53

learned a year ago when I

22:56

was doing all of this research

22:58

for many moons, the hermit also

23:00

lines up with the lunar nodes.

23:02

This month, the nodes go into

23:04

a Pisces North node and a Virgo

23:06

South node. That's where we're

23:08

going to be experiencing the

23:11

eclipses. So you can look

23:13

to your Pisces and Virgo

23:15

houses and placements and hello,

23:17

congrats to those of you

23:19

who are experiencing their nodal

23:21

return. It's sort of a

23:23

big deal because it... only

23:25

happens about every 18 years.

23:27

And the nodal return is

23:30

where the lunar nodes return

23:32

to the exact spot where they

23:34

were when you were born. And

23:36

I'm getting ahead of myself

23:39

friends. All of you astrology

23:41

and tarobuffs will know why.

23:43

I said this because we

23:45

know that in one of

23:47

the systems of tarot that

23:49

a lot of people use,

23:52

the Golden Dawn school, Virgo.

23:54

is associated with the hermit.

23:56

Whop, whop, whoo, whoo. And

23:59

is there... any other sign,

24:01

like other than Pisces, maybe

24:03

Capricorn, maybe Aquarius,

24:06

that is as

24:08

mystical as Virgo, you

24:10

know, like these are

24:12

some like, these are

24:14

like some very mystical,

24:16

mystical signs, Virgo is

24:18

very mystical. So, Hermit

24:20

is number nine and

24:22

most decks. Symbolically,

24:24

nine has a lot

24:26

going on. It takes nine

24:28

months to gestate a human

24:30

life, usually, not always,

24:33

but usually. There are nine

24:35

planets. If we count Pluto,

24:37

which I do, Odin hung

24:39

on the tree of life

24:41

for nine days, there are

24:44

nine precepts in Buddhism, nine

24:46

is the end of a

24:48

cycle in numerology, because in

24:50

numerology, in traditional numerology, I

24:53

should specify, we work with

24:55

one to nine. So it's

24:57

this like big ending. So

24:59

already we have ripening,

25:02

maturity, birth, wisdom,

25:04

endings of certain patterns,

25:07

cycles, seasons, and completion,

25:09

which is a big

25:11

theme. And it's a

25:13

big theme that corresponds

25:16

with the archetype of

25:18

Virgo that I wanted

25:20

to bring in here,

25:22

especially with this. Sorry,

25:25

content warning, especially with

25:27

this theme of perfectionism.

25:29

I'll say it. I'm brave enough

25:31

to say it. Perfectionism. So, Virgos

25:33

get dragged a lot for being

25:36

critical or being, you know, perfectionists.

25:38

And I really want us to

25:40

be a bit more respectful of

25:42

this archetype. You know, I need

25:44

us to go a little more

25:47

deeper, put more respect on

25:49

this archetype. And I want to

25:51

get more nuanced here. It's not

25:53

really perfection. I think, this is

25:56

my own humble opinion, that Vergozo

25:58

are after, it's completion. Do

26:00

you know that

26:03

perfect, the definition

26:05

of perfect, actually

26:07

means complete? And when

26:09

we think about that

26:12

shows up in nature, it

26:14

means that an open

26:16

rose is complete.

26:18

It means that sparrow,

26:20

that flew by your window,

26:23

is complete. The

26:25

clouds are complete.

26:27

The sun set. The sun

26:29

set. is complete. It's

26:32

embodied. And we can

26:34

extend that to other

26:36

things. Certain relationships,

26:38

it's complete. I don't

26:41

mean it's over. I mean

26:43

like it is reciprocal, we

26:45

are seeing each other, I

26:47

feel complete. You can also

26:49

like when you're teaching

26:51

or when you have a client

26:54

session, if you're a therapist

26:56

or practitioner, You can kind

26:59

of tell, like sometimes I

27:01

will end sessions early because

27:04

I feel complete. Sometimes

27:06

we gotta go a little

27:08

bit over if you're one

27:10

of my clients, we go

27:12

a little over because we

27:15

need that extra 10

27:17

minutes to get to completion.

27:19

A pop song, a two-minute

27:21

pop song, is complete and

27:23

so is 20-minute

27:25

orchestral piece. Virgo's

27:28

have... a inner compass,

27:30

an inner awareness

27:33

of when something

27:35

is as complete

27:37

as possible, which

27:40

means as close

27:42

to an energetic

27:44

or in essence as

27:47

possible. It's a

27:50

well developed or

27:52

the right frequency,

27:55

or the right

27:57

frequency, tone.

28:00

Whether that's a meditation or

28:02

a relationship, whether it's a

28:05

perfume, an outfit, a like

28:07

layered, complex coffee, or really

28:09

simple olive oil cake, like

28:12

the right amount of, you

28:14

know, salt and brown sugar

28:17

and, you know, whatever, you

28:19

know, vergo's understand the details

28:22

that go into making that

28:24

complete vibe. Oh. Oh, I

28:27

need a little more salt.

28:29

Oh, oh, just a little

28:31

more marimba, or cowbell. Remember

28:34

that? Remember that skit? Cowbell?

28:36

More cowbell? They bring the

28:39

material. They make the material

28:41

that much more beautiful. They

28:44

take that frequency and that

28:46

etheric. They often create the

28:48

vessels and the templates for

28:51

this energy and this like

28:53

a... Theoric vision to flow

28:56

into and be made tangible

28:58

to the best of their

29:01

ability. It's so artistic, it's

29:03

so poetic, it's so caring,

29:05

it's also careful. You know,

29:08

in the Moon Studio we

29:10

talk a lot about full,

29:13

like self-full, not self-ish, like

29:15

self-ful, and I want to

29:18

bring in a new word

29:20

here, full, full of care.

29:23

Cancer knows about care, Capricorn knows

29:26

about care, Libra knows about care,

29:28

Taurus knows about care, Virgo really

29:31

knows about care. The issue that

29:33

can happen though is other people

29:35

don't care, you know, or the

29:38

person that the Virgo is trying

29:40

to care for doesn't understand it.

29:42

Or there can be this like

29:45

rigidity or adherence to doing something

29:47

the right way, being so obsessed

29:49

with making something perfect, ideal utopic.

29:52

They don't let go of it

29:54

or they might clamp down or

29:57

like the details just like they

29:59

get, you know, the devils

30:01

in the details, but like, wow is

30:03

the devil in the details, right? It's

30:05

hard to be a Virgo, okay?

30:10

It's a respect for

30:12

life and service that this

30:14

archetype has and that the hermit has.

30:17

And unfortunately, we

30:20

live in a world where

30:22

the overculture states that

30:24

like, care is not

30:26

convenient. There

30:28

is such a disrespect of life

30:30

and of care and of service, you

30:33

know? And I want to

30:35

just like end with this

30:38

little perfectionism soapbox, you know, side

30:40

quest here, my soap bus. I'll

30:42

just start it. That's what

30:44

we'll do in 2025 when I'm

30:46

trying to pare down and

30:48

make everything more streamlined. Sarah will

30:50

start yet another podcast called

30:52

soapbox side quest. Just kidding. Not

30:54

doing that. Okay, let me

30:56

bat back or back here. We're

30:58

back here. We're back here

31:00

on perfectionism. Sometimes

31:02

something being messy is perfect.

31:04

A sloppy, bright painting.

31:06

Hello. Think of a Jackson

31:09

Pollock or like an Agnes

31:11

Martin or a Basquiat. It's

31:13

like very improvisational.

31:17

You could say it's messy, but it's

31:19

like the best. It's so beautiful, right? Or

31:23

like taking that into life. When a friend trusts

31:25

me enough to break down in front of me

31:27

and like cry in front of me, it's

31:29

so beautiful. I know all

31:31

you therapists and spirit

31:34

workers and guides understand like

31:36

the beauty of someone's

31:38

unmasked emotions, you know? So

31:42

I want us to think about

31:44

this going into the year

31:46

in our own lives, you

31:48

know? When is done better

31:50

than perfect? How can

31:52

we streamline completion? Where

31:55

do we want

31:57

to prioritize that,

31:59

you know? Because

32:01

it's It feels great. It actually

32:04

feels awesome to be complete, whether

32:06

you make something in two minutes

32:08

or it takes two years. And

32:10

we got to use this other

32:12

key word that will come up

32:14

with the hermit that I know

32:16

you know, which is discernment.

32:19

You have to discern, like, do

32:21

I want to spend two years

32:23

on this podcast? Maybe

32:25

I can do it in two hours.

32:28

You know, we really want to

32:30

be discerning of ourselves first

32:32

and our priorities first

32:34

and then we extend

32:36

that discernment out into

32:39

the world. That's another

32:41

teaching for this year. Do

32:43

you love this podcast and

32:45

are ready to go deeper around

32:47

some of the themes we cover?

32:49

Do you want the ability to

32:52

ask me direct questions and

32:54

receive support from some

32:56

smart, compassionate, wonderful community

32:59

members? Are you ready

33:01

for specific actionable spiritual

33:04

practices and guidelines that

33:06

can meet you wherever

33:09

you are? Are you

33:11

a terror nerd? mystical

33:14

scholar and love everything

33:16

about spirituality, but want

33:19

applicable, easy to understand

33:21

interpretations for the modern

33:23

age instead of vague, new

33:26

age fluff? Well, you're in

33:28

luck because our January jumpstart

33:31

series begins this Saturday and

33:33

goes on throughout the month.

33:54

33:57

33:59

moonstudio.co. So

34:03

let's define the

34:06

hermit. The hermit

34:08

is the vessel for

34:10

the divine to

34:12

enter. The hermit

34:14

is the one who

34:17

empties themselves

34:19

to be of service

34:21

to others. They are

34:24

a channel. They are receiver

34:27

and transmitter.

34:29

They are... the one who

34:32

sees in the dark,

34:34

officially, meaning the

34:37

definition of a

34:39

hermit, is one who

34:41

lives in seclusion,

34:44

apart from society.

34:47

It comes from

34:49

aromatic, which you

34:52

can look up

34:54

the meaning of. This

34:56

person is apart from

34:58

society for religious reasons.

35:01

So there's many, many,

35:03

many areas we could go

35:06

into. We have the recluse,

35:08

a monk, someone who has

35:10

dedicated themselves to a

35:12

life of trying to

35:14

reach enlightenment, trying

35:17

to get closer to God,

35:19

or whatever deity or deities,

35:21

they want to become

35:23

closer to God. you

35:25

know, this often included

35:27

and includes no

35:30

material possessions, no

35:32

substances, right? No drugs,

35:35

no alcohol, no sex,

35:37

really no temptations or

35:39

distractions on the material

35:42

plane, right? They don't

35:44

want to be tempted. They

35:46

don't want to be taken

35:49

off their path. It's another

35:51

major theme of the hermit,

35:53

the path. What path we're

35:55

on? What is our path?

35:58

Where are we going? why

36:00

are we going there, you know? And

36:04

there are many meanings

36:06

that the hermit

36:08

is trying to make. There

36:11

are many reasons

36:13

why the hermit is so

36:15

disciplined, right? And the

36:17

aesthetic aromatic life, try

36:19

saying that a million

36:22

times, the hermit will

36:24

be solitary for

36:26

their contemplative practices,

36:29

meditation, prayer,

36:32

personal development on both

36:34

mental, energetic, and

36:37

physical levels. There

36:39

are myths or

36:41

tales about

36:43

enlightened Hindu avatars

36:45

who don't need to

36:48

eat, for example, right?

36:50

Who just use breath

36:52

and sunlight

36:54

to exist. There's

36:58

also this idea

37:00

of liberation, self

37:02

-liberation, helping others

37:04

achieve liberation as

37:07

well. And to

37:09

do that, the hermit usually

37:11

has to do some

37:13

pretty radical things, you know?

37:15

So usually they let

37:17

go of societal norms. Societal

37:21

behavioral norms, dress codes, think

37:23

about monks. Monks shave

37:25

their heads, they wear robes.

37:28

You know, there are

37:30

so many other examples

37:32

of people wearing

37:34

certain dress codes or

37:36

doing certain things,

37:38

shaving heads, growing beards

37:40

in order to maintain

37:42

their discipline and maintain their

37:44

practice and their process,

37:46

you know? And it shows

37:49

up differently cross -culturally, of

37:51

course. I think of

37:53

the Peruvian healers, the Shabibo

37:55

people, the medicine people

37:57

in the Amazon. who

38:00

spend a lot of their

38:02

time alone out in the

38:04

jungle with plants. They will

38:07

forge very intimate relationships with

38:09

the plants. They are doing

38:12

a diet with them. That

38:14

includes taking very large amounts

38:16

of the plant while also

38:19

eating very particular things, being

38:21

alone, being solitary, not having

38:23

sex, and other kinds of

38:26

behavioral restrictions. along with the

38:28

hermit. Of course, we have

38:30

this idea of the pilgrimage

38:33

or a retreat where you

38:35

go and do a silent

38:38

meditation or you go on

38:40

a solitary quest or a

38:42

side quest to gain some

38:45

kind of key, some kind

38:47

of wisdom or knowledge. I

38:49

think about all of the

38:52

rituals we see all around

38:54

the world, right, whether it's

38:56

going to someone's grave and

38:59

paying homage and leaving flowers

39:01

there or a pusia. This

39:04

all fits into the energy

39:06

of this archetype, you know.

39:08

And now let's expand out

39:11

a little bit. There are

39:13

so many like subsets that

39:15

resonate with the hermit that

39:18

if you were making a

39:20

deck, you could name it

39:22

a different name. There's the

39:25

crone, the elder very much

39:27

resonates. with this archetype, the

39:30

wise one, the sage, the

39:32

guide, the shaman, the wizard,

39:34

like how wizardy is the

39:37

hermit. It's like dripping in

39:39

dumble door, you know, and

39:41

Gandalf, right, like the auntie,

39:44

and then moving right along

39:46

there's in nature, there's like.

39:48

the redwood tree or the

39:51

tree that has lived for

39:53

hundreds or thousands of years,

39:56

you know, like very, very

39:58

old mountains, you know, very...

40:00

very, very ancient groves,

40:02

right? There's also

40:04

the rebel. This is a

40:07

very hermit vibe, the punk,

40:09

the rebel, we'll get into

40:11

that in a little bit,

40:14

you know, the one who

40:16

does their own thing, the

40:19

one who goes against the

40:21

grain of society. What the

40:24

hermit is doing is very

40:26

radical, especially now. I

40:28

think we forget about that

40:31

sometimes, but it's very

40:33

radical to denounce material

40:35

possessions. It's very radical

40:37

to decide I'm maybe

40:39

not going to have

40:41

a spouse or I'm

40:43

not going to have

40:45

children. You know, any major

40:47

behavior that is sort

40:49

of a front to

40:51

dominant culture in the majority

40:54

I see as hermit behavior

40:56

in some way. We

40:58

also have the channel

41:00

and then my personal

41:03

favorite the mystic The

41:05

hermit is the mystic The

41:08

mystic is the one who

41:10

has direct interface

41:13

with the divine with

41:15

the one with the absolute

41:17

with the whole They don't

41:20

need a priest They don't

41:22

need a congregation

41:24

to listen to them very

41:27

different their garb and

41:29

their jewels and their

41:31

regalia. The hermit does not

41:34

need a modality. I

41:36

mean, some hermits have their

41:38

modalities, of course, but the

41:41

hermit does not. No tarot

41:43

cards, no astrology, no

41:46

wounds, no nothing. It's just

41:48

you and source. You and

41:50

God. You and the universe

41:52

in the universe. Mystic

41:55

is a really interesting word that goes

41:58

different places. Mystic means to conceal. It's

42:00

also initiation. Something inside

42:02

or outside of you

42:04

spurs you on a

42:07

different path. Usually in

42:09

order to make meaning

42:11

of life or connect to

42:13

the ever-vesant pulse

42:15

behind life. I really can

42:18

see it as this moment

42:20

of tapping on the microphone

42:22

of life and saying, is

42:24

this thing on? Right? Like

42:27

usually we have

42:29

initiations either from having

42:32

an incredibly mystical

42:34

spiritual experience or

42:36

having a real

42:38

rock bottom, right? Usually,

42:41

that's how we come to

42:43

wanting to find meaning and

42:45

asking, what is the meaning

42:47

of life? Who am I? What

42:50

is my path? These

42:52

are all very common

42:54

questions one asked before

42:57

getting on the path of mysticism.

43:00

It's that moment when you

43:03

look out into the

43:05

night sky and you wonder,

43:07

what else is out there?

43:09

Or you take a breath, you

43:11

pause, and you ask yourself,

43:14

what else is in here?

43:16

We're often pushed out

43:18

onto the path. due

43:21

to heightened moments or

43:23

wanting heightened moments. There's

43:26

this like extremeness to the

43:28

hermit, but I think ultimately

43:31

the hermit is looking for

43:33

peace and understanding. And the

43:35

process of becoming more of

43:37

a hermit is really challenging

43:39

because we don't want to

43:42

be separated from the group.

43:44

We don't want to be...

43:46

I mean most people do

43:48

not want to be misunderstood

43:50

and most people don't want

43:52

to be outside of society. You

43:54

know, most people want to be

43:57

loved, we want belonging, and often

43:59

being a... Seeker is very

44:01

uncomfortable. We often don't

44:03

want to have to be the one

44:05

seeking. It's very vulnerable. There's a

44:07

tension there. Like how could it not

44:09

be? It's not always very cool

44:11

to go out on your own path

44:13

and go out on your own

44:15

way unless you're a Fleetwood Maxxon, but

44:17

you're looking for something and hopefully

44:19

you'll know it when you find it

44:21

and when you find it, you'll

44:24

be able to invest in it,

44:26

which also connects the hermit

44:29

with the moon, which is the

44:31

hermit's teacher card. The hermit

44:33

needs to find their inner knowing

44:35

and inner sight in the

44:37

uncertainty. So when that uncertainty comes,

44:39

I mean, it's always there.

44:42

Everything is uncertain. We just

44:44

pretend like it's not, don't

44:46

we? Or

44:48

when the bigness

44:50

of our intuition or

44:53

mystical experience does

44:55

come or

44:58

major confusion or

45:00

uncertainty comes, which

45:03

is often synonymous with the moon

45:05

card, one

45:07

can stay centered in their

45:10

knowledge and their knowing in their self.

45:12

The mystic is the one who

45:14

sees beyond the material realm. The

45:16

one who can interpret forms,

45:20

energetic forms behind the

45:22

forms, motivations, patterns

45:24

from the material world.

45:27

They're the ones that

45:29

can interpret omens,

45:31

signs, synchronicities and so on,

45:33

you know? And the mystic is

45:35

also the one who sees the worlds

45:37

within worlds, who

45:40

can experience other realms and

45:43

receive other messages from other

45:45

realms or even other

45:47

forms of consciousness. Materialism

45:49

has tried to cabash all of

45:51

this, right? It's tried to

45:54

squash all of this. This is

45:56

one of the many reasons why folks

45:58

are really, really struggling. right

46:00

now and I mean for

46:02

so many reasons and are

46:05

so down and depressed there's

46:07

there's obviously many many reasons

46:10

for this. I do think

46:12

that not being able to

46:15

connect to our intuition, create

46:17

meaning that is pretty specific

46:20

and unique to us, not

46:22

believing that someone has the

46:25

tools to engage with life.

46:27

in multi-dimensional holographic ways are

46:30

certainly some of those. You

46:32

know, not feeling like the

46:35

universe is supporting you or

46:37

that your ancestors are supporting

46:40

you or that you have

46:42

guides or helpers. You know,

46:45

that is definitely reasons for

46:47

a lot of listlessness, you

46:50

know. So if you've ever

46:52

wondered who is the one

46:55

observing your thoughts. Not only

46:57

just the one observing your

47:00

thoughts, but the one behind

47:02

the one observing your thoughts

47:05

will surprise That's being a

47:07

mystic and surprise you have

47:10

experienced something mystical Something that

47:12

cannot be easily explained But

47:15

it's real. It's real because

47:17

it's real to you and

47:20

so if you've ever had

47:22

a vaguely mystical experience experience

47:25

something that cannot be easily

47:27

explained and maybe that feels

47:30

personal and universal at the

47:32

same time, you have been

47:35

living in hermit energy. Hermits

47:37

traditionally made very serious choices

47:40

in service of their devotion.

47:42

They're pretty serious. Like, maybe

47:45

they're comedians. There have been

47:47

comic hermits. and certainly comic

47:50

Zen masters in history, but

47:52

you know, they're usually somber.

47:55

Traditionally, they lived in the

47:57

desert. goes back to the

48:00

practice of wandering in the

48:02

desert for 40 years. They

48:05

lived in caves. Sometimes they

48:07

lived outside the gates of

48:09

whatever town or city they were

48:12

in. They were often maybe gatekeepers

48:14

or like guides to get into

48:16

the city relying on the kindness

48:18

of strangers, right? Because they

48:21

didn't own anything or they

48:23

barely owned anything. They often

48:25

don't or did not work,

48:28

right? They would receive messages

48:30

or channeled messages. You know, I

48:32

think about all of these channeled

48:34

works that we abide by.

48:37

The Ten Commandments are channeled

48:39

work. We know that Moses

48:41

and Miriam were mystics.

48:43

Obviously we know they got the

48:46

Commandments after climbing a

48:48

mountain, you know, a

48:50

very hermit-like thing to

48:52

do. The Sohar, another

48:54

channeled work. And we have

48:56

to remember this like very

48:58

strange paradox we live in

49:00

in society, which is that so

49:03

many channeled works posited to

49:05

be given to someone from

49:07

God, from source, are still used

49:09

for material purposes today

49:11

in our society. The most

49:13

famous one obviously is being

49:15

the Bible. I'm not trying to

49:18

laugh at the Bible. I'm just

49:20

like, y'all, like you see what's

49:22

going on here. The Bible is

49:24

a collection. of stories, allegories.

49:26

It's very mystical. You know,

49:28

you can go really deep

49:31

into passages from the Bible.

49:33

There's a lot of metaphor,

49:36

and there's a lot of

49:38

rules, and there's a lot of

49:40

information in it on how to

49:42

live, and people use it as

49:45

truth. How many people have

49:47

you heard using the reason

49:49

that something is in the

49:51

Bible to do really, really,

49:53

really... not awesome things

49:55

in the world to other people.

49:57

You know, it's often used as

49:59

a guy. and a rulemaker,

50:01

it also uses a

50:03

weapon often. So we

50:05

also want to be

50:07

careful with this. Similar to

50:10

the shadow of the hero

50:12

font, rigidity and

50:14

dogma, and like the

50:17

inability to widen out can

50:19

be a shadow of the

50:21

hermit. And there is this

50:24

inherent discipline and this

50:26

idea of sacrifice bound

50:28

up in this archetype.

50:30

Whenever you devote yourself

50:32

to something, it's a

50:34

sacrifice because there's an

50:37

inherent no to something else.

50:39

You know, I'm choosing to

50:41

devote myself to my dog. I'm

50:43

not going to get other dogs,

50:45

you know, I'm making this choice.

50:47

And whenever we pare down

50:50

and take away whatever...

50:52

isn't important, you can get to

50:54

what is most important. Another

50:56

message of this archetype. So we've

50:59

got separation, we've got discipline,

51:01

we've got focus, we've got

51:03

this big choice or decision.

51:05

Okay, for this length of

51:07

time, these are the things

51:09

most important. I'm only going

51:11

to do those. And what

51:13

I'm gaining, and this is like

51:15

an important piece I think

51:17

of the hermit, but I'm gaining.

51:20

is probably not going

51:22

to show up materially.

51:25

You know, like inner peace

51:27

can show up materially,

51:29

but often it's

51:32

etheric. The gains are

51:34

etheric. The hermit,

51:36

the mystic, they're

51:38

often not doing

51:40

anything to get anything.

51:43

They're often not

51:45

doing anything to

51:47

get anything. They're

51:49

doing things to receive, and

51:52

they're just doing things to

51:54

make contact and to go

51:56

deeper and to connect more.

51:58

It's a very... radical

52:01

concept to our materialist

52:04

externally focused

52:06

culture. Wait, you can

52:09

just, I don't know, love

52:11

something? You can just, oh I

52:14

don't know, like, be

52:16

so in awe of this

52:18

value or parts of life,

52:20

so magnetized to a certain

52:23

experience or

52:25

so belief. driven so

52:27

like full of faith that

52:29

you can simply invest in

52:31

the practice of something without

52:33

any sure outcome? Yeah, like yeah,

52:36

we can and yeah, we

52:38

do. We do it all

52:40

the time. If we're lucky,

52:42

if you're lucky, you have

52:44

multiple practices and multiple relationships

52:46

that you invest in because

52:48

you love them, but there's

52:50

no surety there when you

52:52

love someone. When you enter

52:54

a new relationship with someone,

52:57

whether it's a boyfriend or

52:59

God, you don't know what's

53:01

going to happen. That's very

53:03

hermit. And the fact is we

53:05

are doing that all the time.

53:07

We just don't always see it

53:10

as such. But you can look

53:12

around now in your life and

53:14

ask yourself, what are you choosing

53:16

consciously? With no guarantee.

53:18

So of course. I couldn't get

53:21

too far without mentioning Jesus here. If

53:23

you've taken my classes, you know, I

53:25

love this passage from the Bible to

53:27

be in the world, but not of

53:30

the world. We don't always want

53:32

to assimilate to dominant values,

53:34

at least not in the

53:36

United States, because a lot

53:38

of our dominant values are

53:40

greedy, cruel, they're dehumanizing, they're

53:42

shame-based, they're violent, and they're

53:44

certainly not giving us life.

53:47

So we have to create

53:49

our own values and as

53:51

best as we can, we

53:53

got to stay devoted to them.

53:55

And this is very challenging to

53:57

do. It's challenging to stay kind.

54:00

when so many are so cruel.

54:02

It's challenging to remain

54:04

generous when so many

54:06

people are greedy. It's

54:08

one of the works of my

54:10

life, to be honest. Maybe it's

54:12

one of yours too, like

54:15

to not let your heart

54:17

heart in, to be able to

54:19

stay open, to be able to

54:21

develop our consciousness in

54:23

a world where space and

54:26

time and privacy. our

54:29

luxuries, essentially. But I think

54:31

we all must do it in

54:33

our own way, however we want

54:35

to. There's no right way. Of

54:37

course, there's no wrong way. But

54:39

I think that is also a

54:41

strong message when the hermit comes

54:43

up in her reading in a

54:45

year, if it's your life path

54:47

card, if it's your archetype of

54:50

the year. But again, this is

54:52

radical. So we've got rebellion, radicalism.

54:55

They turn up here. which

54:57

is the punk archetype, you

54:59

know, that like, makes me

55:01

think of Patty Smith with

55:03

like outside of society or

55:05

even like David Bowie, someone

55:07

who's operating on their own

55:09

timeline with their own art, someone

55:11

really creating their own path,

55:13

inventing something really new. That's

55:16

very hermit to me. And

55:18

you often don't get that

55:20

without space and freedom, you know.

55:22

I lived in Portland for a while.

55:24

And at the time when I lived

55:26

there, It had two really

55:28

important things. It had cheap rent,

55:30

and it had long, cold, wet

55:33

winters, where no one went outside

55:35

and you were indoors all the

55:37

time. And so much great music

55:39

and great art came out of

55:41

that period. I think like other

55:44

cities in the US have been

55:46

like this too, like I know

55:48

Austin was similar, but like for

55:50

Portland it was like these amazing

55:53

bands, like the gossip and

55:55

glass candy. came out of

55:57

cheap rent. and

56:00

a lot of time. And that's very

56:02

hermit. So any process, any

56:04

crater process that ends up making

56:07

something very unique, super hermit vibes,

56:09

because you got to hunker down,

56:11

you got to do your own

56:14

thing, you got to listen to

56:16

your own process. If you are

56:18

thinking, I want to create

56:20

this thing, it doesn't exist,

56:22

and it's new, and I might

56:24

have to convince others about its

56:27

use, very hermit vibes to

56:29

me. A person, another person, I

56:31

mean we've got lots of people

56:33

we're bringing in here, but another

56:36

person that resonates with this

56:38

archetype. I mean there's so many.

56:40

I'm thinking of like Octavia

56:42

Butler, I'm thinking of Joan of

56:45

Arc, I'm thinking of George Washington

56:47

Carver, but another one that

56:49

came up as I was thinking

56:51

about this episode, Steve Jobs. I

56:54

believe Steve Jobs is a

56:56

Pisces or has Pisces Placements

56:58

total Pisces. created something that

57:00

did not exist, had to

57:02

convince others why they wanted it,

57:05

had to create a market for

57:07

it. You know, think about also that

57:09

Virgo Energy, which I think was

57:12

one of Steve Jobs partners. Think

57:14

about how perfect the iPhone is.

57:16

It's complete. It's why we're all

57:18

addicted to it. We're addicted to

57:21

holding it. Also as an aside,

57:23

very hermit. He wore the same

57:25

outfit like almost every day,

57:27

the black turtle neck, jeans, iconic.

57:30

When he died, everyone at

57:32

his funeral received a wooden

57:34

box with the book, the

57:37

autobiography of a yogi in it. I mean,

57:39

hello. So I hope now

57:41

you're understanding how this archetype

57:43

of the hermit sinks up

57:45

with this year. We already

57:47

have class consciousness rising.

57:50

more radical values like

57:52

on either side of

57:54

the spectrum, extremes, we've

57:56

got spirituality, loneliness and

57:59

separation, focus. dedication, paving

58:01

your own way in a

58:03

chaotic, uncertain world. Is it not

58:05

all here? Is it not all

58:07

here, right? Did I mention aliens

58:09

yet? We got to mention the

58:12

aliens. Because we know like

58:14

a subset stream of aliens,

58:16

and again I promise this

58:18

links to Hermit, is that

58:20

aliens or angels, sorry, angel

58:22

sightings in ancient times might

58:24

be aliens. That's a theory,

58:27

you know, or We're definitely

58:29

going to have at least

58:31

one episode. Maybe more on

58:33

aliens this year on moon

58:35

beaming, because I'm ready. I hope

58:38

you're ready, too. So I have this

58:40

saying when I read for people. I

58:42

mean, I don't always tell them

58:44

this, but it's how I go

58:47

into readings. And that is the

58:49

cards do all the heavy lifting.

58:51

I don't have to lift hard

58:53

in readings. I let the cards

58:56

do all the work. And it's

58:58

the same for these archetypal episodes.

59:00

There's no lift. It's all right

59:02

here. I mean, I could be

59:04

here with you for five hours

59:07

talking about this archetype and how

59:09

it is coming up at the

59:11

right time for all of us

59:13

to reinvent, focus, reconfigure,

59:16

get on a different path, get

59:18

back on our path, and so

59:20

on and so forth. And so

59:22

hopefully by now you have... so

59:24

many insights and inspirations for

59:26

this year ahead. Hopefully one

59:29

little nugget or glimmer can

59:31

inspire you to think about how

59:33

to apply this to your life

59:35

and what you want to be

59:38

spending your time and energy doing.

59:40

In terms of keywords,

59:42

we covered so many

59:44

of these already, you

59:47

know, discipline, devotion, intuition,

59:49

sobriety, celibacy, detoxes and

59:51

diets, sacrifice. space, time,

59:54

consciousness raising, direct

59:57

communication

59:59

with. the divine personal

1:00:01

noses, stepping out of the

1:00:04

fast pace of the world

1:00:06

or out of a particular

1:00:08

rhythm that was created for

1:00:10

you in creating your own

1:00:12

piece, your own rhythm, your

1:00:14

own path, your own way,

1:00:17

guides, mysticism, being a

1:00:19

teacher, self-knowledge, completion, new

1:00:22

timelines, going within

1:00:24

for the answers, going dark,

1:00:26

the wisdom of the dark.

1:00:29

elders, silence, self-trust,

1:00:31

moving forward an uncertainty,

1:00:34

radical honesty, clearing

1:00:37

and pairing down,

1:00:39

reprioritization, thinking about

1:00:41

what is most important,

1:00:44

and dedicating yourself

1:00:46

to that, meaning-making,

1:00:48

making meaning, and

1:00:50

spirituality in general,

1:00:53

you know. So what does it

1:00:55

mean if you get the hermit?

1:00:57

You're ready to receive

1:00:59

or impart wisdom. It might

1:01:01

be a gentle nudge or not

1:01:04

so gentle nudge to step

1:01:06

away from what you are doing

1:01:08

or how you are doing it

1:01:11

and try something different to

1:01:13

even make bold moves. It could

1:01:15

mean that a chapter is coming

1:01:17

to an end and so you

1:01:20

are maturing. You're really ready to

1:01:22

apply certain wisdom. Integration is

1:01:25

a major key word.

1:01:27

and a major practice

1:01:29

related to the hermit.

1:01:31

This could be a time

1:01:34

where you need to retreat,

1:01:36

you need more space,

1:01:38

you need more time.

1:01:40

Maybe you don't know,

1:01:42

maybe you don't need

1:01:44

to know right

1:01:46

now. Perhaps you

1:01:49

need mentorship or

1:01:51

will eventually become

1:01:53

an unlikely mentor.

1:01:56

feeling of austerity.

1:02:00

with the hermit. You know, you might

1:02:02

need to go on a spending

1:02:04

freeze, like stop buying things, especially

1:02:06

if you don't need them or

1:02:08

especially online, or you might need

1:02:11

to, you know, stop some habit

1:02:13

like scrolling, or, you know, I don't

1:02:15

know, again, you might want

1:02:17

to try sobriety for a

1:02:19

while, you might want to

1:02:22

stop external stimulants, like screens,

1:02:24

media. This is absolutely a

1:02:26

card about quality over quantity.

1:02:28

It is absolutely a

1:02:31

card about energetic

1:02:33

hygiene. It is

1:02:35

absolutely a strong message

1:02:38

to declutter, to

1:02:40

clear, or to take

1:02:42

something away or many

1:02:44

things away in order

1:02:46

to gain something much

1:02:48

more meaningful. You know, I

1:02:51

am here to streamline

1:02:53

this year. I am going to

1:02:55

quit many things. You

1:02:57

know. This definitely dovetails

1:03:00

with quiet quitting or

1:03:02

knowing what your lane

1:03:04

is, knowing what your

1:03:06

wages and acting accordingly.

1:03:09

Absolutely. If you're in a

1:03:11

hermit time, it could be really

1:03:13

confusing. So confusing.

1:03:15

In fact, that you are like,

1:03:17

I need to make meaning WTF.

1:03:20

This is what times of

1:03:22

confusion, it's what they do. It's

1:03:24

also why like fascism

1:03:26

grows out of really

1:03:29

confusing WTOF times. Like

1:03:31

every time there's been

1:03:33

a pandemic, the plague

1:03:36

or the Spanish flu,

1:03:38

like fascism and

1:03:40

more control rises

1:03:43

because insecure people

1:03:45

love being told what

1:03:47

to do. Insecure people

1:03:50

love being told what

1:03:52

to do. They love

1:03:55

having someone say. Do this

1:03:57

and your problem will

1:03:59

be solved. Let me be the

1:04:01

leader. Let me take over. Let

1:04:03

me give you all of these rules.

1:04:05

No, no, don't come up with

1:04:07

your own guidelines. No, don't

1:04:09

develop your own meaning and

1:04:11

your own rules around what's

1:04:13

okay and what's not okay.

1:04:16

We're going to tell you.

1:04:18

But the hermit is anti-that.

1:04:20

The hermit is like, you

1:04:22

need to make your own

1:04:24

unique meaning and your own

1:04:26

unique life. Or perish. And while

1:04:29

it's okay to not know, this is

1:04:31

another very hermit vibe, like we need

1:04:33

to just stop shaming people for saying

1:04:36

I don't know or for asking

1:04:38

questions. Because we do that, like if

1:04:40

people don't know, like what are you

1:04:42

doing with your life? Especially

1:04:44

in like bigger cities or in

1:04:47

like very status-based places, you know,

1:04:49

like if you didn't get the

1:04:51

thing or you don't have the

1:04:53

next lily pad set up or

1:04:55

whatever, like a lot of people

1:04:58

will judge you for that. But if

1:05:00

you don't know what you're doing,

1:05:02

who you are, welcome. Like,

1:05:04

welcome, it's okay to not

1:05:06

know. And doing hermit-approved activities

1:05:09

will help you find

1:05:11

that meaning, prayer. journaling,

1:05:14

spiritual community, therapy, take

1:05:16

a class, look for mentors, paradoxically,

1:05:19

you may need a lot more

1:05:21

support during a hermit time or

1:05:23

at least during the beginning of

1:05:25

a hermit time, and also know

1:05:27

that ultimately the hermit wants you

1:05:29

to figure it out for yourself. Like

1:05:31

at the end of the day, you can hire

1:05:33

a ton of support. Ask for all

1:05:35

the help and you're going to have

1:05:37

to figure it out for yourself,

1:05:40

you know? And when you begin

1:05:42

to make some meaning, which you

1:05:44

can only do through direct experience

1:05:46

and through experimentation, I hope y'all

1:05:48

are also now seeing why the

1:05:50

hermit comes after strength and why

1:05:52

nine comes after eight in the

1:05:55

tarot miners, try trusting that meaning

1:05:57

for a while. Try staying there

1:05:59

for... a while and see

1:06:02

what happens. An analogy

1:06:04

I have used for over

1:06:07

a decade around how

1:06:09

this archetype feels is

1:06:12

pretty specific. You

1:06:14

might only really

1:06:16

understand this if

1:06:18

you've been on the East

1:06:21

Coast or up north

1:06:23

in wintertime. It's a

1:06:25

very specific situation.

1:06:29

You're in a car, you're

1:06:31

alone, it's nighttime,

1:06:33

it's dark, and it's

1:06:35

snowing really hard, it's

1:06:38

a blizzard. You can't

1:06:40

but see two feet in

1:06:43

front of you. You may

1:06:45

not even know if you're

1:06:47

on the road. You have to

1:06:49

feel your way through. You

1:06:51

have to trust that

1:06:54

the vehicle you are in

1:06:56

will make it. that the

1:06:58

vehicle you're in will go

1:07:00

slow enough to find those

1:07:03

other treads on the road

1:07:05

that went before you, you

1:07:07

have to trust that you will

1:07:09

make it to your destination.

1:07:12

You're almost in a

1:07:14

trance. You know you just have

1:07:16

to slow down and go inch

1:07:19

by inch, bit by bit, using

1:07:21

all your consciousness, all

1:07:23

your sight. This is very

1:07:25

hermit. You can only see

1:07:28

but a few inches

1:07:30

ahead of you, but you

1:07:32

can see. You have to tune

1:07:35

in, get quiet, and

1:07:37

take the next step,

1:07:39

after the next step,

1:07:42

after the next right

1:07:44

step, in order to

1:07:47

feel it all out. And

1:07:49

really, you can insert

1:07:51

any time you've been

1:07:53

lost in the dark. Maybe

1:07:56

you were in the jungle and all you

1:07:58

had was a flashlight. Maybe you

1:08:00

were in a camping trip and

1:08:03

you went into the woods to

1:08:05

go to the bathroom, you took

1:08:07

a weird turn. And there was

1:08:09

this moment, it's all dark.

1:08:11

No one's around. You had to

1:08:14

feel your way back. Maybe you

1:08:16

had to crawl on your hands

1:08:18

and knees. Maybe you had

1:08:20

to feel the terrain under your

1:08:22

feet. Use different parts

1:08:25

of your perception. Use

1:08:27

different... Use different... aspects

1:08:30

of sight. You probably even

1:08:32

prayed. You probably were like,

1:08:34

have you ever had this

1:08:37

moment? You're like, please God,

1:08:39

if I make it out of this,

1:08:41

I'm gonna do this. You know,

1:08:43

like, you're like, please God. I

1:08:45

swear I'll never say a swear

1:08:47

word again. If I can find my

1:08:49

way back, haven't we all been

1:08:51

there? To me, that's very hermit.

1:08:54

Maybe you even, like, proclaimed.

1:08:56

Okay, God, okay, spirit. You

1:08:59

have to help me find my way

1:09:01

out of here. It took longer, used

1:09:03

parts of your trust in

1:09:05

your consciousness, you hadn't used

1:09:07

in a while, and you made it. You

1:09:10

made it back to the clearing. You

1:09:12

made it back home because you

1:09:14

tuned in and you trusted and you

1:09:16

found a way to make it through.

1:09:18

Maybe we even discovered something

1:09:20

really important about yourself

1:09:23

or the nature of

1:09:25

the universe or... something

1:09:28

about wherever it

1:09:30

was you were. That to

1:09:32

me is a pretty

1:09:34

accurate metaphor for

1:09:37

being in the hermit.

1:09:39

There is one thing I

1:09:42

made a note

1:09:44

to publicly demystify

1:09:46

before we end. The

1:09:49

hermit does not mean

1:09:51

you're going to

1:09:53

be alone. I always

1:09:55

see folks saying this.

1:09:58

It just isn't. true,

1:10:00

specifically romantically. I had a

1:10:02

friend who was like very bummed out because

1:10:04

they were going into a hermit year and

1:10:07

they really wanted to date and I had

1:10:09

to like walk them off you know the

1:10:11

edge and and explain to them what the

1:10:13

hermit really met and guess what they ended

1:10:15

up meeting their fiancé that year. Again

1:10:18

mileage always varies, right? Can't speak for

1:10:20

everyone, but what like but what does

1:10:22

it mean and this is what we'll

1:10:25

get into on Saturday, it means you're

1:10:27

sovereign. It means you're not entertaining bullshit.

1:10:29

It means you know what's most important.

1:10:31

You know what you need most. And

1:10:34

anything outside of that, you're not going

1:10:36

to waste time on. You might even

1:10:38

be allergic to it. You're like, yeah,

1:10:41

no, thank you next. That's what it means.

1:10:43

It could also mean if you are, if

1:10:45

you have been dating, you do need to

1:10:47

take a time out because it's time to

1:10:49

break the pattern. You know, it could be

1:10:51

some alone time, a call for

1:10:54

some alone time, just to come

1:10:56

back to yourself and find yourself

1:10:58

again in this present moment before

1:11:00

you go back out again onto

1:11:02

the apps or, you know, whatever.

1:11:04

It's not a message to not date

1:11:06

or that you're not going to find

1:11:08

friends or that, you know, like, it's

1:11:11

not an affirmation that you're going

1:11:13

to be alone forever, no one

1:11:15

will ever love you. It also

1:11:17

means... that you need to show

1:11:19

your true self, and that maybe

1:11:21

some of the relationships you are having

1:11:24

were based on people pleasing or

1:11:26

based on more superficial things, and now

1:11:28

you're really ready to go deep. It

1:11:30

definitely, in my humble opinion, it means

1:11:33

to be more selective. I had

1:11:35

this client, they're one of my

1:11:37

favorite people, if you're listening to

1:11:39

this, you know who you are,

1:11:41

you know, no names, and I'm

1:11:43

changing details because obviously everything is

1:11:45

confidential. But they were in an

1:11:47

open relationship. We were in session together.

1:11:49

And they wanted to figure out how

1:11:52

to date because they could be a

1:11:54

loveaholic or like a sex and love addict.

1:11:56

That's I think the proper term or

1:11:58

whatever. And so what we came. up

1:12:00

with for them was they had a

1:12:02

favorite activity that they loved.

1:12:04

It was their timeless flow

1:12:06

state, it was their spiritual practice,

1:12:09

it rejuvenated them, everything in

1:12:11

their life or many things

1:12:13

that they did in their

1:12:15

life were evolved around getting

1:12:17

to do this practice, you

1:12:19

know, three or four times a week.

1:12:21

So the test we came up for

1:12:24

them with going on the apps and,

1:12:26

you know, like finding people to hook

1:12:28

up with if they thought If

1:12:30

they used their discernment, and

1:12:33

they thought their hookup was

1:12:35

going to be as good as

1:12:37

their favorite activity, this thing

1:12:40

that gave them connection and

1:12:42

flow, they would meet up with

1:12:44

them. But they had to be

1:12:46

honest with themselves, and

1:12:49

they really had to really ask

1:12:51

themselves, you know, could I be

1:12:53

spending this time getting more

1:12:56

into flow? would that be more

1:12:58

important? They could just go do

1:13:00

that activity. It would be just

1:13:03

as good probably. So the hermit

1:13:05

wants us to be discerning in

1:13:07

that way. They want us to

1:13:10

find those favorite things, those top-tier

1:13:12

flow states or those grounding experiences

1:13:14

or the things that help you

1:13:16

see, see in the dark, hone

1:13:19

your intuition. It's not necessarily

1:13:21

a peak state. but it is

1:13:23

a flow state and to hang

1:13:25

out there and over time you

1:13:27

become allergic to anything that

1:13:30

interrupts your sovereignty and your

1:13:32

peace of mind. You know,

1:13:34

same with relationships. If you

1:13:37

begin to appreciate yourself and

1:13:39

love yourself and respect

1:13:41

yourself and you start to

1:13:43

treat yourself well, it just gets

1:13:46

harder and harder to be around

1:13:48

people who are not going to

1:13:50

treat you. with a similar amount

1:13:52

of respect. You know? That's also

1:13:55

hermit. It also could be like no

1:13:57

tea, no shade, no pink lemonade, it

1:13:59

could be... We are not on the

1:14:01

same page in terms of what I

1:14:03

need and what you can give me.

1:14:05

That's hermit too. It's not

1:14:08

necessarily being completely alone forever,

1:14:10

but it might be a

1:14:12

time period of leaving folks.

1:14:15

It could be leaving people who

1:14:17

are unwilling to really see you.

1:14:19

And so we'll get into more of

1:14:21

that in our time together in

1:14:24

the workshops, seeing yourself more

1:14:26

clearly. having the tools to

1:14:29

reburve yourself, which is very

1:14:31

timely for all of us. The last

1:14:33

thing I'll say about this card, then

1:14:35

I promise we'll close. You can see

1:14:38

it's, this is, this was not

1:14:40

a heavy lift and I

1:14:42

could be here forever, but

1:14:44

I do want to say

1:14:46

this publicly again. I want

1:14:48

more people to be able

1:14:50

to have access to these

1:14:52

reminders. You might want to

1:14:54

bookmark this episode and come

1:14:56

back to it when you're

1:14:58

in very... uncertain moments to

1:15:00

get some messages, you know,

1:15:02

about what you might need.

1:15:04

The last thing I will

1:15:06

say is, this is the Chop

1:15:09

Wood Carry Water card,

1:15:11

right? The saying is,

1:15:14

before Enlightenment, Chop

1:15:16

Wood, Carry Water, when

1:15:18

you gain enlightenment,

1:15:21

when you see... a fresh perspective, there

1:15:23

can be some letdown. Like what do

1:15:25

you mean I just have to keep

1:15:27

doing the dishes? I just fucking saw

1:15:30

God. Like what do you mean I

1:15:32

have to reset my pass code? I

1:15:34

just had a major unconscious part

1:15:36

of me become conscious and now

1:15:38

I understand my relationship with my

1:15:41

parents and my last three romantic

1:15:43

relationships, right? Like what

1:15:45

do you mean? Evolving and evolving

1:15:47

quickly in this world? For the

1:15:49

most part? you know, oftenly like

1:15:52

non-enchanted world that is the

1:15:54

everyday, you know, it can

1:15:57

be a struggle. It can be

1:15:59

a challenge. to keep that connection.

1:16:01

So we chop wood, we

1:16:03

carry water, we keep up

1:16:05

with our practices, we keep

1:16:07

going, we see the mystical

1:16:09

in the mundane, we apply

1:16:11

our knowledge to the everyday,

1:16:13

however we can and whenever

1:16:15

we can, major theme of

1:16:17

this year, which will increasingly

1:16:19

push us to find one

1:16:21

another, like-minded, like-being kinds of

1:16:23

people, and to create lives

1:16:25

where we don't like... have

1:16:27

to be doing such meaningless

1:16:29

things. We always have to

1:16:31

do things we don't prefer,

1:16:33

but like it's the meaning

1:16:35

part that so many of

1:16:37

us are like ready for

1:16:39

more of. You know, like,

1:16:41

come on, you mean I

1:16:43

have to update this spreadsheet

1:16:45

by four o'clock and an

1:16:47

alien just landed at LAX?

1:16:49

Like, come on, right? This

1:16:51

is in a way I

1:16:53

think kind of what we're

1:16:55

all preparing for. So this

1:16:57

feels... more than complete. This

1:16:59

feels like a great place

1:17:01

to stop. This feels like

1:17:03

perfect prep for our time

1:17:05

together in the workshop. I

1:17:07

love this archetype. I know

1:17:09

you can tell because I

1:17:11

could talk about her forever.

1:17:13

I hope you can feel

1:17:15

that. Thank you so much

1:17:17

for being here. I appreciate

1:17:19

you so much. I love

1:17:21

your comments on Spotify. I

1:17:23

1:17:26

have nothing but love for

1:17:28

you, gentle listener. I hope

1:17:30

you can feel that. You're

1:17:32

what keeps me here. Thank

1:17:34

you, thank you, thank you.
