On with Mario a little bit. It's

0:02

up on Mario Lopez joining me now on Zoom

0:04

the very talented Sarah Michelle Geller, how

0:07

are you welcome to the show. Thank you

0:09

for having me. It's a nice break from

0:11

it's a nice break from Zoom School. Oh God,

0:13

Zoom schools the worst. I was trying to help

0:15

my kids this morning. It's just they're

0:17

not learning anything. Sarah. My daughter

0:19

has become so savvay. She's playing a video game at

0:22

the same time and has like a double screen the whole.

0:24

I'm ready for this nightmare to be over. I

0:27

finally come to the realization that there's a reason

0:29

why teachers have master's

0:31

degrees and they have doctorates,

0:33

and at the end of the day, I can be responsible.

0:35

They can catch up on the school stuff. It's the social

0:37

emotional learning. So I'm going to focus on sc

0:40

L right now and I'll get back

0:42

to new Math later. Excellent, you're

0:44

right, new Math that's a whole another thing with that common

0:47

I don't understand why they changed it, like it was fine. What

0:49

was the purpose? I agree? What was the purpose?

0:52

I have the answer because I asked, apparently,

0:54

okay, so we didn't have numerical

0:57

comprehension. We did it by route,

0:59

we memory as we know this divided by

1:01

this. So now they do those boxes, they

1:03

could understand why My argument

1:05

is we're all doing okay, yeah, exactly

1:08

americle comprehension. But I got the answer right. I

1:11

don't know who made that decision, but common core

1:13

is trash. Anyway, Hi,

1:15

a great, Hi, A great thinking that touchet

1:17

a nice nice uh. And on

1:19

social media, I see you've been killing the jumpsuit game.

1:22

I'm a big fan of jumpsuits. Is this

1:24

the fashion look for Well,

1:27

you don't have realized this. Jumpsuits are usually complicated

1:29

only like when you're outside, right, because it's hard

1:31

to go to the bathroom and a jumpsuit or whatever.

1:34

One time I made the mistake of wearing a

1:36

jumpsuit on a flight to England. That

1:39

was not my best decision. But now

1:41

you can wear the jumpsuit game because you don't go anywhere.

1:43

Yeah, exactly, very

1:45

It's all about the comfort here. And you know, I'm

1:48

not a great influencer, so I feel like a jumpsuit

1:50

influencing is now going to be my calling. Well,

1:52

I'm just going I'm going for it. Good for you. Good

1:54

for you. You're working to help Feed

1:56

America, which is great. Tell us about this

1:59

partnership in what you're doing exactly.

2:01

It's amazing. I've always been aware

2:03

of the super spread the love. You know, you can't

2:06

miss the commercials or understand, but to really

2:08

get in the weeds with a company that walks

2:10

the walk and that it's something that's so ingrained, and their

2:12

whole idea behind it is that what

2:15

can we do as a community, what can we do nationally?

2:17

How do we make a difference. And obviously,

2:19

children, as you know, are very close

2:21

to my heart, and you hear these statistics that one

2:24

in four children may not know where the next

2:26

meal is coming from. That food and security

2:28

in our country right now is at such a high

2:30

point, and as a parent, I

2:33

can't even imagine what the emotional

2:35

toll it takes to feel like I can't

2:37

feed my child. We have people visiting food

2:40

banks that have never visited a food bank before, and

2:42

last April, Subaru donated fifty

2:44

million meals through Feeding America. And

2:47

now here we are a year later into this

2:49

pandemic, and it has not gotten better. Food

2:51

and security is now just skyrocketed

2:54

and all type high as jobs aren't

2:56

coming back, and so they said, you know, what

2:58

can we do? I know, let's donate a hundred million

3:00

meals this time. And when

3:03

you realize, I think so often I get asked

3:05

what can I do? As one person, I'm barely making

3:07

ends meet. Now when you work with a program

3:09

like Feeding America, one dollar puts

3:11

ten meals on a table. So if

3:14

every person donated one dollar, you

3:16

realize what a difference you can make. But

3:18

who has the platform? And when you see a company like

3:20

super that has a platform to say, hey, guys,

3:23

we can do this, We're committing to this. Come

3:25

join us, be a part of spreading this kind of love.

3:28

Like for me, it's everything. I

3:30

love that what can people do to

3:32

get involved? How can they? How can they will give

3:35

you? Well, I'll give you, guys, all the lengths and

3:37

um I'll have them on my channels to so you can come

3:39

to me and I'll show you how easy it is

3:41

to make such a difference. And I just

3:44

for me, as hard as this has been, I

3:47

always need perspective and I need the perspective

3:49

that, yes, this is difficult, and

3:51

don't ever deny yourself how hard this

3:53

is. It's hard on you, it's hard on me. It's

3:55

hard on our spouses to live with us through all of this.

3:58

Um, but people

4:00

are struggling even harder. And as

4:02

a you realize that when you make a different someone

4:04

else's life, it makes a difference in yours. Absolutely.

4:07

Yeah, it really puts things in perspective. And good for

4:09

you. That's awesome to hear that you're doing that.

4:11

Um. I wanted to talk about you being part of

4:13

the new Masters of the Universe series for not

4:16

because I love this cartoon When

4:18

I was a kid. Uh, it was he

4:20

Man in the Masters of the Universe when I was Is

4:23

he Man no longer involved or is he just a

4:25

secondary character? Or what's the deal? Oh? He Man

4:28

is there every Okay, you're gonna freak.

4:30

It is so good. First of all, Kevin

4:32

Smith is one of the best directors

4:34

I've ever had the opportunity. His

4:37

notes are just I love this

4:39

man so much and he has the same passion

4:41

and when every time, like you'll get through episodes

4:44

and then another character will pop up that

4:46

you're like, wait, that character is back,

4:48

Like every great character is back. But

4:50

the story is amazing. I'm

4:53

so excited. I honestly I haven't been as excited

4:55

about something get a long time. I love this. So

4:57

we're talking Heman, Ramman,

4:59

skelet Tour, Tila. I remember

5:01

these off the top of my head. That's

5:05

awesome. So much wood, Sergeant

5:08

at arms Tila. Yes, right,

5:12

there was man in arms right. Yes,

5:14

that's my father, remember, yes,

5:16

yes, yes, it's coming back to be done. It's

5:20

gonna be it's gonna be so good. So much food.

5:23

It's really moving like I cried.

5:26

Wow. And Kevin Smith, like

5:28

the Kevin Smith. He's on our Amunt Rushmore of

5:31

the longest talkers here are Interview

5:33

an our interview. Keith Our turned

5:35

into like a NonStop. It was like a

5:38

Philipbuster. He didn't want to leave. Then

5:41

we love it. But he has a lot of fun when he comes

5:43

in. He thought I could talk.

5:45

Oh, Kevin, he's definitely an Armount Rushmore.

5:47

Right there. Um, have you let

5:50

the kids watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer yet?

5:52

I may have asked you this before? And okay, what

5:54

I have We started in Quarantine.

5:58

The first four seasons are fine. The

6:00

later seasons I'm having to go through and

6:02

remember each episode because some of it's a little inappropriate.

6:05

My daughter is only eleven, but they they're

6:07

loving it. They get really who much Buffy tonight? Like it's

6:09

so funny? Oh nice, nicee. My kids,

6:11

the last thing we want to do is watch me. My

6:14

mom even tries to good and like they're they're

6:16

they're over it. Don't feel bad that my kids just

6:18

discovered Saved by the Bell too, So it's good. Oh

6:20

good, Okay, Well, at least they'll give it a shot.

6:24

They watched a marathon this weekend. Oh nice

6:26

nice. Hopefully they'll give the new one a shot. Speaking

6:29

of reboots, by the way, I'm sure you've gotten

6:32

approached a lot about Buffy type

6:34

of reimagining or reboot. Is it something

6:36

you would consider or or what are

6:38

your thoughts? We bit, how

6:40

do they say long in the tooth for that? You know? I

6:42

think what worked for Buffy was that, you

6:45

know, the monsters represented they were

6:47

the metaphors the horrors of adolescence, and

6:50

I do think that story lends itself. They'd be interesting

6:52

to see how it chosen one would deal with that.

6:55

I don't I think it's me. I don't

6:57

think I think be the one doing it. And I'm also way

6:59

too tired to

7:01

put in that kind of work again, But I

7:04

love that the story holds up and that people

7:06

are calling for that. Yeah. Yeah, I had

7:08

great spin off too, so no, very cool. Um.

7:11

I saw your dogs on I g what kind of breed is that their

7:14

keytes? Oh a key does? Oh with the little

7:16

tail? That's right, that's right. Good dogs, smart

7:18

dogs. They are amazing. They are

7:20

a lot of work. They're twins,

7:23

Piper. You know,

7:25

they're okay in the mornings. They have a lot of energy,

7:28

and they love to wrestle. I mean they're like having a brother

7:30

and sister. I means literally the same. It's my son

7:32

and my daughter, just now in a dog form. Yeah,

7:34

I got it. Um, this is

7:37

a fun fact. One of your first gigs was

7:39

exactly forty years ago, a Burger

7:41

King commercial. Do you remember

7:43

anything about that day? Yes,

7:46

I remember that I did a whole

7:48

bunch of the Burger King commercials, and I remember two

7:50

very distinct things. I remember that I wore these overalls

7:52

in every commercial and my mom would like carry them

7:54

on the airplane. And I remember

7:56

doing the first commercial and all I wanted

7:58

was a hamburger and your

8:01

methods, right, I thought that they

8:03

would spray paint and shelack and

8:05

glue each seed on the burger

8:08

to to do this, and all

8:10

I wanted, We're going to hit herm the ovens off in the burger

8:13

king because they make too much noise. And so I

8:15

couldn't get a burger too for

8:17

lunch because they didn't existen.

8:19

So I'm like staring at all these burgers from five years old.

8:21

And there was no Postmates or ober Eats in those days,

8:24

so I was just out of luck. Oh that's funny,

8:26

that's great. Um, Sarah, Before I let

8:28

you go and put you on the spot, quick questions, quick answers.

8:30

Okay, what are

8:32

you watching on streaming right now?

8:34

What do you suggest the

8:37

new Punky Brewster starting on Peacock? Ah,

8:39

that's right, Freddy Uh, Freddy's

8:41

starring in that right, that's a fun cast.

8:44

That's a nice cast right there. I'm glad looking

8:46

forward to checking that out song.

8:48

You know all the words too, baby

8:52

got back? My kids are just listening

8:54

to it. Is that your go to karaoke jam?

8:56

No? What's your go to karaoke

8:59

jam? Hey? Are you the last night karaoke?

9:01

Could you imagine like all of everybody touching that mic right

9:03

now? I mean in those

9:06

enclosed rooms, like I'm gonna have like PTSD

9:08

of that stuff. No, I don't

9:10

do the public karaoke thing. I go to Korea

9:13

Town and you go to the private rooms with like friends,

9:15

so much fun because I just last time I went to one of

9:17

those was with Seth Green and Maculleague Culkin that

9:20

I'll leave it at that. That's a good tease right

9:22

there. I like that celebrity

9:24

crush growing up John

9:26

Kennedy Jr. And River Phoenix. I'm so old.

9:29

Those are those are good ones? Like I could I

9:31

could dig that, like I I see that now,

9:35

it's just Angela Bassett. It's just Angela.

9:38

Okay, that's it's diverse. You cast a

9:40

white neck. It's right when Friday and I share

9:42

the same one, right right? Go to late

9:44

night snack? Goodness,

9:47

what does my go to late night snack? I mean

9:49

anything? I can fine chocolate, dark

9:51

chocolate. I'm a dark chocolate person too. I

9:53

can't go back now on that. And and last

9:55

question, who do you cast to play you in the Sarah Michelle

9:58

Gellar's story. My daughter Charlotte.

10:00

Have you seen her? She's like my mini

10:02

mate. Keep it in the family. I like it.

10:04

I like it. I got a couple of mini means myself. It's

10:06

a trip. You're like arguing with small versions of yourself.

10:09

It's uh, it's funny. Don't

10:11

forget smaller, smarter versions. Yeah, no, you're right,

10:13

you're right. So nice to see you and

10:15

nice catching up. Please give my best to Freddie

10:18

and uh hopefully we'll we'll see you

10:20

in person soon. Allmary dot com for all the

10:22

info about feeding America.

10:25

H Sarah, thanks for checking in, Thanks for having me, all

10:27

right, take on with Mario a little pett
