4:08

is a suite of business management software

4:10

that some people say is like fertilizer

4:12

because the way it promotes growth. But

4:14

you know, some people also say that

4:16

Odu is like a magic beanstalk because

4:18

it grows with your company and is

4:21

also magically affordable. But then

4:23

again, you could look at Odu

4:25

in terms of how its individual

4:27

software programs are a lot like

4:29

building blocks. Whatever your business needs,

4:31

manufacturing, accounting, HR programs, you can

4:33

build a custom software suite that's

4:35

perfect for your company. So what

4:37

is Odu? Well, Odu is a

4:40

bit of everything. Odu is a

4:42

fertilizer, magic beanstalk, building blocks for

4:44

business. Yeah, that's it. Which means

4:46

that Odu is exactly what every

4:48

business needs. Learn more and sign

-D -O -O dot com. Good

5:07

morning, everyone. It's Saturday,

5:09

April 26, 2025. I'm

5:12

Joel Dinell, alongside co -host

5:14

Greg Canner, and this

5:16

is the All Elite Conversation

5:18

Club podcast for AWT .com.

5:22

Reunited and it feels

5:24

so good. All right,

5:26

that's all anyone needs to hear from

5:28

me singing. Well, that was

5:30

wonderful. We're back. We are back. I can't

5:32

tell you how much I've missed this. We

5:35

missed a couple of weeks

5:37

for lots of extenuating life circumstances,

5:40

but it is awesome to see

5:42

your face and say hello

5:44

once again and chat because yeah,

5:46

it's been along like three

5:48

weeks since we actually did a

5:50

show. It has. It has,

5:52

Greg. And the feeling is mutual.

5:55

We haven't talked to each other since

5:57

before the dynasty paper view. So

5:59

we've had a pay -per -view. We've had

6:01

an announcement of going to Arena

6:03

Mexico. We've had some

6:05

awesome episodes of Dynamite. The

6:08

Owen Hart Cup tournament has

6:10

been tremendous. And

6:12

they're already leading back into setting up

6:14

some stuff for Double or Nothing.

6:16

So we got a lot to break

6:18

down here. Yeah, lot

6:20

has happened. The depressing

6:22

Mariah May news for

6:24

AW fans, for her,

6:26

I'm happy for her. Yeah,

6:29

that stuff, I

6:31

mean, yeah, a lot

6:33

has happened. They kind of

6:35

lack lusterish pay -per -view. It

6:39

wasn't awful, but it didn't have

6:41

that oomph to it that we felt

6:43

we needed. Because I remember we

6:45

were discussing what should happen. And I

6:47

was saying, I really thought it

6:49

would be smart to give Swerve the

6:51

title. They decided not to do

6:53

that and bring the box back and

6:55

do all that. That was

6:58

kind of a bummer, you know,

7:00

for me, but they have, you

7:02

know, I know what they're doing,

7:04

you know, we kind of see

7:06

the directions and so, you know,

7:08

let it play out and hope

7:10

that it pays off at the

7:12

end. Yeah, just looking

7:14

back on Dynasty a little bit,

7:16

you know, I think it just didn't.

7:18

it wasn't the same level of

7:20

AEW type of pay -per -views that we're

7:22

used to. Although it had

7:25

some good matches on there, you

7:27

know, the booking and you mentioned in

7:29

the main event with the Young Bucks

7:31

are finally back in AEW. They had

7:33

their first match on Dynamite this past

7:35

Wednesday for the first time since October.

7:38

So certainly things are being set

7:40

up in the way that I

7:42

think we really imagined they would

7:44

leading into all in coming in

7:46

this July. So John Moxley is

7:48

still the AEW World Champion. That

7:50

is until maybe when he faces

7:53

Samoa Joe, which is gonna happen

7:55

a few weeks from now in

7:57

Chicago. But I think our

7:59

- Why that gonna be in Chicago? Why

8:02

in Chicago? They're in

8:04

Detroit the week before I

8:06

have my tickets to Dynamite

8:08

in Detroit on May 7th.

8:10

And they're scheduling matches next

8:12

week. which are good and

8:14

the schedule matches for three

8:16

weeks, which are good. Come

8:19

on, Tony, where's my match, man? You

8:22

know, where's my match, man? Where's

8:24

my match? My match, man?

8:27

Well, I get the reference. I get

8:29

the reference. I hope they give

8:32

you some good stuff on there.

8:34

I mean, these past few weeks, they've

8:36

had some really great stuff announced

8:38

for the shows. I think a

8:40

lot of it though has been tied into

8:42

the tournament. And then coming up here after

8:44

the Fletcher hangman at a page match, they're

8:47

gonna be more just building

8:49

towards the pay -per -view. But I'd

8:51

assume that the... recognize that

8:53

they need to go back to

8:55

the formula that works of

8:57

having some really great matches, like

8:59

having some unique matchups on

9:01

these dynamites to really make them

9:03

worthwhile. Even though this past

9:05

Wednesday dynamite, they did very low

9:07

viewership. However, they're on max.

9:10

So it's hard to really distinguish

9:12

as to what is the

9:14

true number as to how many

9:16

people are invested in the

9:18

product right now. Yeah.

9:20

I mean, I kind of stopped

9:22

looking at the ratings for that

9:24

reason. The TV deal

9:26

is done. It's not

9:29

really something that has to

9:31

really be forefront in my mind

9:33

at least until they're newsworthy

9:35

wise, until they're ready to sign

9:37

another one. But at this

9:39

point, it's so hard to determine

9:41

who watches on Max if

9:43

you can find it on Max

9:45

and who doesn't. But it

9:47

was coming off of the best

9:49

dynamite of the year by

9:52

far two weeks ago. So

9:54

it's interesting. It's

9:56

like that's great and that got good

9:58

numbers. So why wouldn't the follow up

10:00

get good numbers? Not sure. Maybe people

10:02

were wrestling down if they watched WWE

10:04

as well and they had all that

10:06

WrestleMania stuff and they were just kind

10:08

of like, all right, I'll watch it

10:10

later in the week or maybe our

10:12

or whatever. So yeah, it just. too

10:14

much that goes on that you just

10:16

don't know about to kind of count

10:19

those numbers as gospel and viewership. But,

10:21

you know, well, it's up to them

10:23

to keep putting those good product, that

10:25

good product on the air. They have

10:27

been. If they continue, then I wouldn't

10:29

be concerned. Well,

10:31

Greg, let's back up to some

10:33

news that they had, I think it

10:35

was a week and a half

10:38

or so ago, where they announced that

10:40

they're gonna be having a show

10:42

in arena Mexico. It's gonna be AEW

10:44

Grand Slam Mexico, working with CMLL,

10:46

where that's their home, the Friday night

10:48

shows. Also, they have

10:50

announced the day before that

10:52

on June 17th, it's gonna

10:54

be an ROH and AEW

10:56

versus CMLL. just want to

10:58

get your thoughts on that,

11:00

how significant it is that

11:02

AEW is going to be

11:04

running Arena Mexico. And

11:06

it's also interesting that around the same

11:08

time, I'm not sure which announcement came

11:10

first, but WWE also

11:13

made the purchase of

11:15

AAA. which AEW

11:17

used to have a relationship

11:19

with. But now a lot of

11:21

those key people have moved

11:23

on to WWE, including Penta, Ray

11:25

Phoenix. So of

11:27

course, they wanna expand more into Mexico.

11:29

And that seems to be the strategy

11:32

for both the companies right now. Yeah,

11:35

and it's smart strategy by

11:37

both companies. It's smart strategy

11:39

by AEW to. try

11:41

to take advantage of

11:43

their international popularity. Because

11:45

you could argue that a

11:47

lot of, that they are

11:49

more popular internationally than they

11:51

are in the States, because

11:53

of the WWE effect. Now,

11:55

WWE has done a great

11:58

job going across the world

12:00

and putting shows on, but

12:02

AW has been successful in

12:04

Europe. They have been successful.

12:06

in somewhat in Australia. I

12:09

mean, yes, they didn't sell

12:11

out the stadium or sell

12:13

the stadium, but the arena

12:15

was packed when they had

12:17

their grand slam there and

12:19

the crowd was great. And

12:22

Mexico, as they've always been

12:24

friendly with Mexico through their

12:26

partnerships with AAA and now

12:28

CMLL. And you go and

12:30

showcase what you have. And

12:32

I think they have They

12:34

have the wrestling that I

12:36

think international crowds, especially Mexico

12:39

likes. The lucha, maybe

12:41

their lucha performers don't win

12:43

as much as they should,

12:45

but the style of wrestling

12:47

I think is right perfect

12:49

for the Mexican audience or

12:51

Latin America or Central America,

12:53

wherever you're gonna go. And

12:55

so branch out, go do

12:57

it. I

12:59

don't know how much money there

13:01

is to be made in Mexico, but

13:04

certainly I think that there is

13:06

a longer term strategy than just getting

13:08

into the Mexican market here. Running

13:10

Arena Mexico is a big deal, historic

13:12

venue for wrestling. AEW is trying

13:14

to hit on as many of those

13:16

historic places as they can. They've

13:18

also announced a show at the ECW

13:21

Arena where they did a little

13:23

bit of shuffling of the ROH pay

13:25

per views. So now death before

13:27

dishonor, it was originally scheduled. to be

13:29

happening around all -in weekend and now

13:31

that's being pushed off to September. So

13:34

trying to hit on a lot

13:36

of those points, but I think that

13:38

they're also recognizing that. the lucha

13:40

style and the Mexican style of wrestling

13:42

is something that's really resonating with

13:44

a lot of audiences. You're seeing more

13:47

of the promotions putting a lot

13:49

more stock into the lucha stars. And

13:51

I think that's been really a

13:53

part of the strategy for both companies

13:55

is seeing how this style mixed

13:57

with the American style can really help

13:59

to garner a lot of the

14:01

casual audience, to garner more of an

14:04

audience. It's hard to say just

14:06

the casual audience, but garner more of

14:08

an audience because you want to

14:10

show somebody some pro wrestling and they

14:12

see some of the Lucha Libre

14:14

style. And I feel in my experiences

14:16

and anecdotes and things I've heard

14:18

too is that that's really something that

14:21

captures people. The whole colors, the

14:23

mask, the flips, the style of all

14:25

of that. I think that

14:27

that's an interesting point where it's...

14:29

It's become more of a priority

14:31

for both AEW and WWE to

14:33

incorporate more of that and make

14:36

it a little bit more serious

14:38

as a part of their roster.

everybody, so when you get asked,

16:46

what is Odu, what comes to mind?

16:48

Well, I'll tell you, Odu is a

20:15

everybody, so when you get asked,

20:17

what is Odu, what comes to mind?

20:19

Well, I'll tell you, Odu is

20:21

a bit of everything. Odu is a

20:23

suite of business management software that

20:25

some people say is like fertilizer because

20:27

the way it promotes growth. But

20:30

you know, some people also say that

20:32

Odu is like a magic beanstalk

20:34

because it grows with your company and

20:36

is also magically affordable. But then

20:38

again, you could look at Odu in

20:40

terms of how its individual software

20:42

programs are a lot like building blocks.

20:45

Whatever your business needs, manufacturing, accounting,

21:13

Yeah, and now you know and now

21:15

you'll probably at least see you

21:17

know some of the lucha guys get

21:19

a little a few more wins

21:21

Maybe to kind of build up to

21:23

do whatever they're going to do

21:26

Down there. It's gonna be it's nice.

21:28

It's just it's it's nice that

21:30

both companies, you know, we're not comparing

21:32

You know dollars and and and

21:34

popularity and attendance whatever but both companies

21:36

are being are successful right now

21:38

in going across the world and promoting

21:41

what they do. And that's good

21:43

for wrestling in general and good

21:45

for all the performers and everything.

21:47

So it's hard to argue with

21:49

any of that. And hopefully they

21:51

have a good card. They build

21:53

it up nicely. And it should

21:55

be a free Wednesday night event.

21:58

So they'll go all out for it.

22:00

And then it should be fun. Well,

22:04

let's touch on some of the main

22:06

points for AEW over the last few

22:08

weeks and kind of tie it into

22:10

this past Wednesday. I

22:12

think one of the biggest things obviously

22:14

has been the Owen Hart men's cup

22:16

tournament. And that has produced

22:18

a lot of really good matches there.

22:20

Just two weeks ago, we had Will Osprey

22:22

versus Takeshita again, which I

22:24

think is going to be regarded as

22:26

like one of those great rivalries. going

22:29

back and forth between those two guys.

22:31

Takeshita really seems to be on such

22:33

a roll right now. I was really

22:35

fortunate. I got to see him on

22:37

that New Japan show against Tanahashi. And

22:39

I felt he was the best guy

22:41

to get a great match out of

22:43

Tanahashi in his last appearance in the

22:46

United States. And

22:48

this match was no exception here. Obviously

22:50

Takesha is not advancing. I don't

22:52

think that at this point in time,

22:54

he's really, he's not the focus

22:56

for the world title picture as that

22:58

seems to be really revolving around

23:01

Osprey and also with the tease of

23:03

it could be hangman at a

23:05

page as well. I think my gut

23:07

really sticks with the. the possibility

23:09

that it's going to be Osprey going

23:11

against John Moxley for that world

23:14

title. But I think that it's certainly

23:16

well deserved to create more intrigue

23:18

that hang man out of pages is

23:20

there as well. That he's somebody

23:22

who's. He's

23:24

been getting a lot more traction as

23:26

a young star that AEW tried to

23:28

go with from the start of the

23:31

promotion. He was in the first world

23:33

title match for them back in 2019. And

23:36

now he's done a lot of changing

23:38

to his character. And he's just in

23:40

a new spot here, a new spot

23:42

of confidence and a new spot of

23:44

respect for the fans. I'm

23:46

putting the cart before the horse a little

23:49

bit because he still has his match

23:51

against Fletcher. So certainly it could

23:53

go either way. which I know this is

23:55

the stuff that you love, Greg, that

23:57

it's hard to predict. It could go either

23:59

way of Hangman or Kyle Fletcher. I

24:01

don't know if you want to go with

24:03

Kyle Fletcher again so soon against Osprey, but

24:06

Hangman against Osprey for the pay -per -view

24:08

would be tremendous. So just give me

24:10

your thoughts overall on the Owen Hart

24:13

tournament. Touch on any of those things

24:15

and kind of what you've been thinking

24:17

about how that's been going on the

24:19

last few weeks. Yeah,

24:21

the men's tournament's been great. I mean,

24:23

I think that they have done

24:25

a great job, you know of the

24:27

wrestlers Making it clear that this

24:29

means something special not just, you know

24:32

the oh I get a main

24:34

event shot Which of course is is

24:36

very important should be very important

24:38

to them But but the legacy of

24:40

Owen Hart and everything it goes

24:42

through this tournament and having the trophy

24:44

there all the time It just

24:46

it puts stakes on a lot of

24:48

these matches. So they have been fired

24:51

up to try to win

24:53

all these, all the wrestlers that

24:55

were in the tournament and

24:57

have said as much and the

25:00

matches have been great. And

25:02

it's certainly leaning towards Osprey winning

25:04

it and setting up the

25:06

match with Moxley as we predicted.

25:08

I'm thinking that they're gonna

25:10

go hangman, beating Fletcher

25:12

next week because we've seen.

25:14

you know, Osprey and Fletcher

25:16

a lot in the last

25:18

handful of months. And while

25:20

it was great, you

25:22

know, the last match was that crazy cage

25:24

match that, you know, had

25:26

all sorts. And so it's hard

25:29

to top that so soon. You

25:31

know, you can keep it going.

25:33

And now I'm sure you'll have plenty

25:35

more amazing matches in the future

25:37

years. But this seems to be a

25:39

fresh, you know, I don't think

25:41

Osprey's fought Hangman before. So, you know,

25:43

you have, you have. you know,

25:45

a unique match with major stakes with

25:47

the kind of, you know, is

25:49

MJF gonna get involved in the final

25:51

or that kind of thing because

25:53

of all of the foreshadowing they've done

25:55

with MJF and Hangman as well.

25:57

So there's a lack that goes into

25:59

that. So I think that's probably

26:01

the way they've gone. But I think

26:03

the last handful of weeks has

26:05

really made dynamite and collision when they've

26:07

had the matches on collision, you

26:09

know, a intriguing watch, a good watch

26:11

and. people looking forward to

26:13

it because of these matches mistakes. Now,

26:16

let's say that it is Osprey

26:19

versus Hangman at a page. Has

26:21

Hangman's performances, reactions from the crowd, has

26:23

it swayed you in any way to

26:25

feeling that maybe he would be a

26:27

better option to go up against Moxley?

26:32

I think on paper, the

26:34

actual matchup chemistry with

26:36

Hangman and Moxley, they're similar

26:38

in the way they're

26:41

very physical. wrestlers and I'd

26:43

be curious. I

26:45

mean, Osprey obviously can get a

26:47

great match out of anybody. So an

26:49

Osprey and Moxley match would be

26:51

very good, I would expect. But

26:54

can Moxley, at this

26:56

point, keep

26:58

up, be able

27:00

to match some of

27:02

the athleticism that Osprey

27:04

has. It's interesting

27:07

dynamics. You would think that

27:09

for a championship match

27:11

with all of the stakes

27:13

and the physicality that Hangman

27:15

and Boxley might be like,

27:17

okay, that'll be a classic.

27:20

But Osprey doesn't have a bad match. But

27:22

I think they've been building Osprey from

27:24

the beginning of the year. He hasn't lost.

27:26

I remember us discussing, he had a

27:29

lot of losses last calendar year and leading

27:31

up to it and we're kind of

27:33

saying they need to kind of, as Wade

27:35

would say, get into the Osprey business. go

27:38

that route and it looks as though that's what

27:40

they've been doing. So I don't

27:42

think you can really go wrong,

27:44

but I think Osprey's been the play

27:46

the whole calendar year and I

27:48

don't think anything's changed enough where they

27:50

would, you know, opt out of

27:52

that and that goes through with it.

27:55

Yeah, I. I tend to agree

27:57

with that, that I think that that

27:59

has been the plan and Tony

28:01

seems to me is not deviating from

28:03

a lot of his plans for

28:05

all in because everything that has been

28:07

reported, everything that has been speculated

28:09

is really coming to fruition here in

28:11

late April, going into July. Sure,

28:13

you could make an argument that even though

28:15

Heyman Adam Page is from Virginia, he

28:17

still plays the kind of cowboy gimmick.

28:20

And so could that play over better

28:22

in Texas? Does that sell you anymore?

28:24

tickets I don't know you know I

28:26

think that it's it is more of

28:28

the brand but you are gonna need

28:30

some really spectacular matches that still being

28:32

a couple months out here that you

28:34

could get some people to make that

28:37

decision to. buy the tickets, get the

28:39

hotel, get the flight, do all that

28:41

stuff a little bit here in advance

28:43

and we'll know by end of May

28:45

what that main event's gonna look like.

28:47

So again, you're kind of shrinking down

28:49

that time. So you're now gonna be

28:51

looking more at people in that Dallas

28:53

area to start pulling the trigger and

28:56

then you kind of start looking at

28:58

some reduced prices of tickets and all

29:00

that stuff as well. Yeah,

29:02

and you look at it from

29:04

the booking standpoint, your

29:06

top three baby faces

29:08

right now from crowd

29:10

reactions are Osprey, Hangman,

29:12

Swerve. I think they get

29:14

the top top pops when they

29:17

come out and you could argue

29:19

Hangman is third in that as

29:21

far as reactions. Now, not like

29:23

distant third. I think he's right

29:25

up there. I think they're all

29:27

very close right now. That's

29:29

the question. If it

29:32

was overwhelmingly now, people

29:34

were hanging in crazy, then

29:36

maybe they think to throw an

29:38

audible in there, change it up, or

29:40

God forbid, do like a three -way

29:42

or something. But

29:45

I think, if

29:47

you could argue, I mean,

29:49

Osprey has the best entrance in

29:51

the song and everything else

29:53

going. But Swerve has been getting

29:55

the eruptions around, and that's why I

29:57

thought it would. to

30:00

win a few weeks ago. But

30:02

even whenever he shows up now

30:04

to go after the box, there's

30:06

a huge reaction. So again, they

30:08

can't go wrong. I don't think

30:10

those with any of those top

30:13

three, but Tony doesn't seem like

30:15

someone who would change his mind

30:17

over his original plan unless there

30:19

was a major, major switch in

30:21

crowd reaction. And I haven't seen

30:24

that major of a switch yet.

30:29

I think there's a lot of different directions

30:31

that can go with this conversation. But

30:33

I do want to touch on the debut

30:35

of Josh Alexander coming over from TNA,

30:37

spent a lot of time on the independent

30:40

scene. What were your thoughts

30:42

on his debut against Hangman at

30:44

a Page? And then this past Wednesday,

30:46

he actually got the pin over

30:48

Brodie King in a tag match that

30:50

also included Ospreay and Takeshita. Spring

37:00

everybody, so when you get asked,

37:02

what is Odo, what comes to mind?

37:04

Well, I'll tell you, Odo is

37:07

a bit of everything. Odo is a

37:09

suite of business management software that

37:11

some people say is like fertilizer because

37:13

the way it promotes growth. But

37:15

you know, some people also say that

37:17

Odo is like a magic beanstalk

37:19

because it grows with your company and

37:21

is also magically affordable. Oh, but

37:24

then again, you could look at Odo

37:26

in terms of how its individual

37:28

software programs are a lot like building

37:30

blocks. Whatever your business needs, manufacturing,

37:32

accounting, HR programs, you can build a

37:34

custom software suite that's perfect for

37:36

your company. So what is Odu? Well,

37:39

Odu is a bit of everything.

37:41

Odu is a fertilizer, magic beanstalk, building

37:43

blocks for business. Yeah, that's

37:45

it. Which means that Odu is

37:47

exactly what every business needs. Learn

odu .com. That's O -D -O -O dot

37:53

com. Yeah,

37:59

I just thought it was

38:01

okay, honestly. I did not

38:03

watch a lot of him

38:06

coming in, so I don't

38:08

know a lot. I appreciated

38:10

the announcers kind of giving

38:12

us a little bit of

38:14

a background on explaining why

38:16

he wears the headgear and

38:18

everything like that. He seems

38:20

to be a talented wrestler,

38:22

but I don't see anything

38:24

off the bat that's gonna

38:26

make him that much different

38:28

than... the Mark

38:30

Davis role. I

38:32

know he's a better wrestler

38:34

than Mark Davis, but I'm saying

38:36

that role in the Callis

38:39

family, it's almost like tough guy,

38:41

but then he'll be in

38:43

the mix. Maybe like almost Claudio

38:45

in the Death Riders in

38:47

that kind of role. I'm trying

38:49

to think of just kind

38:51

of, but I don't know. he

38:54

was fine to me. I

38:56

wasn't wowed and like, oh, this

38:58

guy's gonna be a future

39:00

star, future champion. You

39:02

know, good, fine. I

39:07

think aligning himself with the Don

39:09

Callis family is a good move because

39:11

to me, he's never come off

39:13

as this tremendous personality, great wrestler, can

39:15

do a little bit of talking

39:17

here and there. But I think that

39:19

they're really stacking the deck for

39:21

this Don Callis family, which even Taz

39:23

mentioned that there's too many guys

39:25

in the Don Callis family when we

39:27

saw the return of Trent Beretta

39:29

on collision. We also have

39:31

Rocky Romero joining the Don Callis

39:33

family. So Don is definitely adding

39:35

more. more and more to that

39:37

stable, especially with Brian Cage suffering

39:39

an injury. I think it was

39:41

a torn quad. I'm not sure

39:43

exactly when that happened. I saw

39:45

Brian Cage over WrestleMania weekend and

39:47

he seemed to be just fine.

39:50

So I'm not sure how recent

39:52

that was that that happened. Yeah,

39:55

I mean, he had wrestled in

39:57

the last couple of months. And so

39:59

if that was the injury, obviously he

40:01

couldn't have been wrestling. Yeah,

40:04

it had to have happened recently.

40:06

I don't know. I don't know.

40:08

Yeah. And Mark Davis, not there

40:10

either. So I actually like the

40:12

makeup of this Callas family right

40:14

now. I think you've got the

40:17

top heavy two main guys. You've

40:19

got a handful of the other

40:21

guys who can kind of help

40:23

out and interfere. But then

40:25

those are the guys that usually

40:27

would take pins in other matches. is

40:33

now what are they gonna do? Are

40:35

they gonna become like a force? Like

40:37

the death riders should have been, could

40:39

have been, you know, in that way

40:41

where they're just, you know, wreaking havoc

40:43

upon people or they're just kind of

40:46

a, you know, callous is just kind

40:48

of leaving them and trying to get

40:50

titles and all that stuff. It'll

40:52

be interesting, but I like the fact that

40:54

it's not just, you know, three guys and callous

40:56

that he actually has a nice group. Now,

40:58

I would not add any more to it. I

41:00

think this is perfect. But,

41:03

and I always think back as

41:05

an old school, like the Heenan family,

41:07

the Bobby Heenan family, where he

41:09

had a couple of guys, his top

41:11

guys who would go up against

41:13

Hulk Hogan and try to beat him.

41:16

And then he got all these

41:18

other guys all the way down to

41:20

Brooklyn Brawler, who he would have. And

41:22

so, yeah, the Brawlers winning more

41:25

than he was when he was

41:27

jobbing out to everybody. Having

41:30

him represent a bunch of guys

41:32

makes sense, especially when he, especially if

41:34

he becomes a guy that wrestlers

41:36

want to have represent him. He becomes

41:38

that guy that all the heels

41:40

kind of say, I wanna be in

41:42

the Dodd -Calisthenics, that's a big deal.

41:47

So then let's look at the women's

41:49

side of the Owen Hart Cup tournament. Yorgal

41:52

Athena coming to the AEW

41:54

roster, she had a very good

41:56

match against Mercedes. You

41:58

know, probably didn't turn out the way

42:01

that maybe who had hoped, you know,

42:03

thinking that Athena would be going to

42:05

all in. And I think there's still

42:07

enough time where things can change there.

42:09

But if there to adhere to the

42:11

stipulation of the tournament that you're going

42:13

to be that it should just be

42:15

one on one with Tony Storm. So

42:17

at this point, we do know that

42:19

it's going to be Jamie Hader versus

42:21

Mercedes Mane at the pay per view

42:23

and winner will be facing Tony Storm.

42:26

But. thoughts overall on the

42:28

women's tournament, the representation of

42:30

Mercedes and also how they've

42:32

utilized Athena. Yeah,

42:35

I mean, clearly I would have

42:37

gone a different direction and built a

42:39

little more to have Athena, you

42:41

know, face Mercedes at

42:43

all in, but they did not

42:45

go that route to my knowledge at

42:47

this point. The only way

42:49

to get there, I think, is if

42:51

Athena costs Mercedes the match against

42:53

Hader. and Hader goes on the face,

42:55

Tony Storm, and then you start

42:57

up the feud with the Mercedes and

42:59

Athena again and set up the

43:01

second match. Again, I would not have

43:03

had them fight before because I

43:05

would have liked the first time for

43:08

them to touch would be in

43:10

such a big event like all in.

43:13

But again, they went a different direction.

43:15

I thought the match was pretty good. What

43:18

I did like about it is that

43:20

their chemistry was good, but

43:22

not great. So there were some

43:24

moves that weren't the cleanest, but

43:26

I liked that because it looked

43:28

as though they were really struggling

43:30

to get the advantage over each

43:32

other on certain moves. They're playing

43:34

it off like that, so I

43:36

thought it worked in that way. And

43:40

obviously, it's

43:42

a win, a roll -up win,

43:44

and it's decisive and tight. So

43:46

it's like, okay. you know,

43:48

I could see it, you know,

43:50

and the next time, maybe

43:52

the chemistry improves a little bit

43:54

more and it's a little

43:56

more, you know, a little smoother.

43:58

But again, I didn't, you

44:00

know, I didn't mind. So

44:03

there's a lot of ways to go. I

44:05

know that they might have their hearts set

44:07

on the big, you know, Mercedes against Tony

44:09

Storm. I don't blame them for that. That

44:11

will obviously be a big, big deal. You

44:14

know, but I would love to

44:17

end up being still, you know, Mercedes

44:19

and Athena title for

44:21

title or something in front

44:23

of everyone with the crowd

44:25

solely behind. Athena I would

44:27

think. Right,

44:30

and because this is gonna be

44:32

happening over Memorial Day weekend, there's

44:34

several more weeks before you get

44:36

to the event. So there's always

44:38

the possibility they could go down

44:40

the route of how WWE did

44:42

the women's championship match where initially

44:44

it was supposed to be Rhea

44:46

Ripley versus Bianca Belair at WrestleMania.

44:49

And then they did a title switch to

44:51

EOS Sky and then just kind of

44:53

had a lot of stuff going back and

44:56

forth to eventually where they got it

44:58

into being a three way. So

45:00

there's always the possibilities that you can

45:02

do some different stuff with the booking

45:04

to add it in a certain way.

45:06

So there could be some more underdeveloped

45:08

stories at this point that we just

45:10

haven't seen play out because Athena was

45:13

such a part of the announcement of

45:15

that show and being from that area

45:17

that I think there is still the

45:19

possibility that they can go the route

45:21

of telling a similar story to how

45:23

they did that triple threat for WrestleMania.

45:27

Yeah, certainly and I would not mind

45:29

seeing you know Athena in a major

45:31

major match there It makes sense to

45:33

do so rather than just you know

45:35

another matches to get her on the

45:37

card You know, I think they there's

45:39

something special they can do And you

45:41

know, we'll see we'll see how it's

45:44

gonna go, but that's again I like

45:46

that because we don't nothing is overly

45:48

predictable You know, even if you can

45:50

you know, you can maybe talk yourself

45:52

into some other things happening, which is

45:54

a positive mm -hmm I

45:57

want to talk about what's been

45:59

my favorite storyline over the past few

46:01

weeks now. Master P. You

46:04

know, the master

46:06

P. Oh man. Is

46:08

he the father of like

46:11

a little Bow Wow or

46:13

something like that? So the

46:15

thing is with my recollection

46:17

of Master P was he

46:19

was in some Nickelodeon show.

46:23

because I don't even remember him

46:25

so much as his days of

46:27

being a rapper, but he was

46:29

on some show and now you

46:31

got me looking for it. Yes,

46:35

Romeo on Nickelodeon, yes.

46:38

Look at show. It

46:40

ran from 2000, okay,

46:42

so it was from

46:44

just in 2003, or 2003

46:47

to 2006, okay, yeah. Okay.

46:50

Okay. after

46:52

his high. Oh, it's it's little

46:54

Romeo. OK, OK, OK.

46:56

Yeah, OK. That's

46:59

that's how I know master. Yeah, I

47:01

mean, I know Master P for him

47:04

showing up on when I used to

47:06

watch, you know, Nitro and he showed

47:08

up and then obviously he heard his

47:10

songs, the popular songs

47:12

and knew of them and

47:14

then seeing him get involved

47:16

in WCW, you know, for

47:18

a while. And then yeah,

47:20

and then. I didn't

47:22

really think about him until

47:24

he gets broader people. I

47:27

actually thought it was extremely well

47:29

done on Dynamite because he didn't overstay

47:32

his welcome. He just

47:34

came out. The crowd

47:36

loves him. He's still

47:38

active in the community and all

47:40

that. So it was a nice

47:42

thing to get the crowd going.

47:44

He introduces Mojo, which you can

47:46

never go wrong, starting a show

47:48

with Joe. You know and the

47:50

you know the only the only

47:53

thing that I kind of smiled

47:55

and rolled my eyes a little

47:57

bit more the You know the

47:59

punches that he tried to throw.

48:01

Yeah on boxley that as I

48:03

wrote Shane McMahon called him wanted

48:05

to like pass this punches looked

48:07

a little weak They did look

48:09

like Shane's punches. Yeah. Yeah, they

48:11

were very Shane like inspiration. Yep

48:13

That's what I thought but but

48:15

but then like, you know where

48:17

I would I would have rather

48:20

seen lots of follow up as

48:22

I constantly complain about from that

48:24

opening segment, the Master P

48:26

portion of it, I thought was perfect

48:28

where he was there, he introduced, and

48:30

then he's done. And it's not like

48:32

he's weaved throughout the whole show or

48:34

he's backstage hanging with the guy. We've

48:37

seen that stuff in the past

48:39

where they really feel like they have

48:41

to hit you over the head

48:43

with celebrity guy there or gal there.

48:45

And it was perfect. Saks

54:56

everybody, so when you get asked,

54:59

what is Odu, what comes to mind?

55:01

Well, I'll tell you, Odu is

55:03

a bit of everything. Odu is a

55:05

suite of business management software that

55:07

some people say is like fertilizer because

55:09

the way it promotes growth. But

55:11

you know, some people also say that

55:14

Odu is like a magic beanstalk

55:16

because it grows with your company and

55:18

is also magically affordable. But then

55:20

again, you could look at Odu in

55:22

terms of how its individual software

55:24

programs are a lot like building blocks.

55:26

Whatever your business needs, manufacturing, accounting,

55:29

HR programs, you can build a custom

55:31

software suite that's perfect for your

55:33

company. So what is Odu? Well, Odu

55:35

is a bit of everything. Odu

55:37

is a fertilizer, magic beanstalk, building blocks

55:39

for business. Yeah, that's it.

55:41

Which means that Odu is exactly

55:44

what every business needs. Learn more

55:59

You know, let's stay on that

56:01

topic and we'll revisit the other

56:03

thing. But certainly, I like that

56:05

angle with a lot of people

56:07

getting involved there. You have

56:09

all kind of the big entrances of people coming

56:11

out. But yeah,

56:13

the week before we saw that

56:16

the ops took those trios tag

56:18

team championships from the death riders.

56:20

It was about time. I think

56:22

that this is like the perfect

56:24

group, unfortunately for Hook, you know,

56:26

not being available. I think that

56:29

powerhouse Hobbs just works phenomenally better.

56:31

with Shavada, Ansimo Joe.

56:33

Ansimo Joe again is getting that shine

56:35

where he had that AEW World title

56:37

run, then he kind of took a

56:39

backseat for a little bit and you're

56:41

showing again that he can be a

56:44

guy who visits that main event and

56:46

be taken seriously as a threat because

56:48

he is a former world champion. He

56:50

also choked out John Moxley. So

56:52

that was a really big deal. And

56:54

then setting him up for a world

56:56

title match on television, which I think

56:58

is a great idea in between them.

57:01

So his world title match on, if

57:04

he's a breakthrough, that

57:06

they're gonna be having in the off of states. Beach

57:09

Break or whatever I think. Beach

57:11

Break. Yes. Yes.

57:14

Beach Break, which will be at the

57:16

now arena, Hoffman Estates. And so that

57:18

leads me to believe that for Double

57:20

or Nothing, they're probably going to go

57:22

with one of those anarchy and the

57:24

arena matches. And I think that's why

57:26

you had a lot of people coming

57:28

out there for that. Yeah.

57:31

Clearly, that's how I took

57:33

it was. As

57:35

I wrote a paint by number

57:37

setup for the anarchy and the arena,

57:39

blood and guts type match, whatever

57:41

they're going to call it. with those

57:44

groups, it just makes sense. But

57:49

yeah, I mean, Joe

57:51

is so valuable. The

57:54

reputation that he has,

57:56

the crowd loves him. Being

57:58

a former champion, losing

58:00

and then kind of also going off

58:02

and shooting his TV show and so you

58:04

don't see him for a while that

58:06

he can come back and quickly. you

58:09

know, take a couple guys in

58:11

a group, you know, whether it, you

58:13

know, Shabata and then Hulk and

58:15

now Hobbs and just make him a

58:17

legitimate, you know, threatening and know,

58:20

legitimate main part of your show is

58:22

just a testament to Joe and

58:24

how good he is, you know, portraying

58:26

his character. It's just, it's fantastic.

58:28

And I love seeing him do whatever

58:30

he's going to do. So. So

58:33

yeah, so that'll be a great TV match. You

58:36

know, again, I wish it was

58:38

in Detroit and not Chicago gets enough,

58:40

you know, Chicago, come on. You

58:43

know, I know Tony loves loves

58:45

the Chicago area. I get it. But,

58:47

you know, it's been two years

58:49

since AWS come to Detroit and, you

58:51

know, it's like, you

58:54

know, give us something anyway. Yeah,

58:56

nothing. That's going to be my phone for the

58:58

show is that is that I want to get more

59:00

Tony to give us a good show. Okay

59:03

well I mean that this next Wednesday

59:05

hopefully there should be a bunch more

59:07

stuff announced for that Detroit show so.

59:11

Yeah I will see what gets announced

59:13

there but what do you what

59:15

do you believe is are probably the

59:17

key players in that you know

59:19

if if it is a four and

59:21

four five on five tight match

59:23

for double or nothing who's in who's

59:25

involved in that match. Well

59:28

I'm assuming five on

59:30

five. And with Kenny

59:32

showing up and Swerve

59:34

showing up, I think you've

59:36

got those two and

59:38

then your three ops guys.

59:41

I think those are

59:43

your babyface team. And

59:45

then on the other side,

59:47

it looks as though you've got

59:49

Moxley, you've got Claudio, you've

59:52

got Yuta, and then you've

59:54

got the Bucks who somehow

59:56

get their way in there

59:58

for the Swerve. you know,

1:00:00

and Kenny aspect of it.

1:00:03

So I think that's likely

1:00:05

your 10 guys. And,

1:00:08

you know, then see what

1:00:10

happens. Can you think of

1:00:12

anyone else to hop in

1:00:14

there? Well, I'm just wondering

1:00:16

the Okada factor of it,

1:00:18

because they've reintroduced him back

1:00:20

on television. They had a little

1:00:22

bit in the ring with each other for,

1:00:24

I got half a second at Dynasty. And

1:00:27

so they've had a little bit of interaction

1:00:29

on TV, so it makes you wonder. you

1:00:32

know, how does he factor into that

1:00:34

stuff if they are to go through with

1:00:36

the Omega Ocata match, which I believe

1:00:38

is very much still the plan for that.

1:00:40

So is Ocata a part of the

1:00:42

match? He could easily take that Wheeler -Yudov

1:00:44

spot. Or do you want to hold him

1:00:46

off? And does he interfere? I mean,

1:00:48

it's a no -DQ match, so you can

1:00:51

have whomever the hell you want come out

1:00:53

there and beat on the opponent. Yeah,

1:00:55

in my opinion, I think it's clear

1:00:57

his his best role would be an

1:00:59

interferer. Because if you remember the last

1:01:01

time he was in one of those

1:01:03

matches, he just looked out of place.

1:01:05

It's not his strength to be in

1:01:08

those kind of, you know, blood and

1:01:10

guts type matches. You know, I remember

1:01:12

the last time when he caught like

1:01:14

caught a staple gun or something like

1:01:16

that was in his middle finger or

1:01:18

something like that was the one main

1:01:20

spot. The rest of the time he

1:01:22

was kind of. just kind of looked

1:01:24

out of place because it's so I think

1:01:26

he's better off being a guy who

1:01:28

helps them, you know, and interferes a

1:01:30

little bit. And maybe, you

1:01:32

know, Kenny's going to

1:01:34

win and he costs that and

1:01:36

that kind of starts their thing

1:01:38

or something like that where, where,

1:01:40

you know, rather than have him

1:01:42

have to be in a walking

1:01:44

brawl or have to come up

1:01:46

with these crazy spots somewhere in

1:01:48

the arena with him, you know.

1:01:50

keep his skills and what he

1:01:53

does best, which is just wrestling

1:01:55

great matches instead of these kind

1:01:57

of violent ones. Yeah, good

1:01:59

callback onto that from their blood

1:02:01

and guts match, where I think me

1:02:03

included, very disappointed with his performance

1:02:05

that I think easily you could have

1:02:07

it set up where Kenny Omega

1:02:09

hits the one wing angel, he's about

1:02:11

to pin somebody significant. On

1:02:13

the other side and then

1:02:15

oh here comes out. Nowhere here's

1:02:18

Okada pulls pulls the rug

1:02:20

out from Omega and just beats

1:02:22

down Kenny Omega and that

1:02:24

allows Moxley or whomever you know

1:02:26

to get the pin over

1:02:28

him Yeah, that makes the most

1:02:30

sense to me Okay, so

1:02:32

let's um well because we're on

1:02:34

that topic I will I

1:02:37

want to switch over to the

1:02:39

young bucks and then making

1:02:42

their redebut on Dynasty pay

1:02:44

-per -view, screwing over Adam Copeland

1:02:46

there, and, or

1:02:48

not, Adam Copeland, excuse me, Swerve

1:02:50

Strickland. So they screwed over Swerve

1:02:52

Strickland there. And

1:02:54

then they had their match, first

1:02:56

match on Dynamite in a long

1:02:58

time. against Speedball, Mike Bailey and

1:03:00

Kevin Knight, which was a fantastic

1:03:03

match. Speedball has been doing

1:03:05

wonderful. Kevin Knight has been looking

1:03:07

tremendous. I definitely missed

1:03:09

the young bucks being a part of

1:03:11

AEW. There's a lot of

1:03:13

criticisms of them of not being able

1:03:15

to translate who they are into week

1:03:17

to week television characters. But I feel

1:03:19

like when they are part of AEW,

1:03:21

you remember that this is kind of

1:03:23

what it's built on of having a

1:03:25

lot of these great matches, these great

1:03:27

reactions. they were one of the

1:03:29

founders of the company. So it's

1:03:31

always welcome to have them back when

1:03:33

they're in a significant role, when they're

1:03:35

motivated, they're a part of something important. So

1:03:38

what do you think of the Young

1:03:40

Bucks thus far? And again,

1:03:42

if they are to be a part

1:03:44

of this anarchy and arena, where

1:03:46

do they fall into for all in?

1:03:50

Does it look like they're maybe setting up

1:03:52

a tag match between you

1:03:54

know hangman and swerve versus the young bucks

1:03:56

does that seem to be kind of the direction

1:03:58

for them. Yeah

1:04:01

you know well first of all the when

1:04:03

the box showed up at the end I was

1:04:05

kind of bummed because I you know it

1:04:07

went against what I was hoping would happen in

1:04:09

the main event of dynasty. I

1:04:12

think they. I

1:04:16

don't know. It's weird. I

1:04:19

make my decisions with if I really

1:04:21

love them on television week to

1:04:23

week or they are annoying to me.

1:04:25

Like, you know, go away. You

1:04:28

know, it's tough because. The match

1:04:30

they put on last week, amazing,

1:04:32

loved it. This was the classic

1:04:34

Young Bucks match against two really,

1:04:36

really talented guys that could do

1:04:38

everything that they wanted. Some of

1:04:40

those sequences with all the kicks

1:04:43

in the middle of the ring

1:04:45

with them, all four competitors going

1:04:47

nuts, chicken fight spots, all that

1:04:49

stuff was great. You

1:04:53

knew the Bucks were gonna win,

1:04:55

but I got lost to the action

1:04:57

a lot and I was thinking,

1:04:59

that's why. falling for the near falls

1:05:01

a couple of times, it's like,

1:05:03

okay, they really are amazing and crushing

1:05:06

in matches like that. You

1:05:08

don't want matches like that every

1:05:10

single week, but when they do those,

1:05:12

fantastic. The characters

1:05:14

are still just

1:05:16

thin. They're just

1:05:19

kind of like, okay, I get

1:05:21

it, but it's still to

1:05:23

me probably, I'm

1:05:25

holding against them the

1:05:27

way the storyline last

1:05:29

year went with their, because

1:05:32

it was exactly last year

1:05:34

with Tony Conn and his neck

1:05:36

brace and the draft and

1:05:38

all that stuff. Right around the

1:05:40

draft. Yeah, I was like, right

1:05:42

when that happened last year, you're kind of

1:05:44

like, okay, intrigued in how that fell apart

1:05:46

for whatever reason. I'm not blaming the bucks

1:05:48

on it. I'm saying for whatever reason it

1:05:50

fell apart, it kind of just. Then

1:05:53

you didn't know, well, what power they

1:05:55

have, what are they in charge of?

1:05:57

They're still EVPs and they still walk

1:05:59

around like they own the place. But

1:06:02

then, so all of that confusion character

1:06:04

-wise is kind of like, all right,

1:06:06

I'll just let it all play out,

1:06:08

I guess. I mean, yes, they're cowards.

1:06:10

Yes, they're afraid of Moxley's group and

1:06:12

wanna join them or don't wanna get

1:06:14

in their way or whatever it is.

1:06:16

So I think that's what'll end up

1:06:18

getting them with Moxley where Moxley, they

1:06:20

need help, and the Bucks have been

1:06:22

there for them, even if Moxley says,

1:06:25

I don't want your help, he'll eventually

1:06:27

take their help. But

1:06:29

until the match is great, characters

1:06:31

are still who need to work. Sacks

1:13:11

think there's still a lot to

1:13:13

prove with the Young Bucks. They don't

1:13:15

need to prove anything else in

1:13:17

the ring. That's what they're known for.

1:13:19

But I think as far as

1:13:21

making these storylines makes sense of how

1:13:23

things were left off, I think

1:13:25

there's still a bad taste left in

1:13:27

everybody's mouth in the stuff that

1:13:29

they've been involved with and how it

1:13:31

seemingly was dropped. And now it

1:13:33

seems like they're trying to rework everything

1:13:36

back in there, but it doesn't

1:13:38

seem very organic. Yeah,

1:13:44

we'll see. But you look

1:13:46

at MJF and Adam Kohler

1:13:48

still kind of working their

1:13:50

way out of their silliness

1:13:52

that they had to go

1:13:54

through in the way that

1:13:56

kind of angle fizzled and

1:13:58

hurt the company, tactically. It

1:14:00

was a major factor of

1:14:02

a lot of the downturn

1:14:04

at the time. And they're

1:14:06

still working their way out

1:14:08

of it. this

1:14:11

MJF hurt business

1:14:13

stuff, which I love,

1:14:15

is finally kind

1:14:17

of getting MJF back

1:14:19

into that kind

1:14:22

of slimy, heel type,

1:14:24

you see his motivations and all

1:14:26

that stuff. You kind of getting

1:14:28

him back to that, even though

1:14:30

he's being very entertaining while he's

1:14:32

doing it. And Adam Cole, obviously,

1:14:34

yes, he just won a TNT

1:14:36

title and had other injuries, but

1:14:38

still, he's kind

1:14:41

of stuck too in his role now

1:14:43

and still working his way out

1:14:45

of it. So when you look at

1:14:47

the blocks in this storyline and

1:14:49

the way the blocks have always been,

1:14:51

which has kind of been up

1:14:53

and down when it comes to storylines,

1:14:57

if they could just find one

1:14:59

thing, give it their all, embrace

1:15:01

it and it works and it's

1:15:03

like a longer term thing, I

1:15:05

think they'd be in much better

1:15:07

shape moving forward. for however much

1:15:09

longer they want to do this. Yeah.

1:15:13

So I do want to talk about

1:15:15

the MJF and Hurt Syndicate because

1:15:17

that is something I have enjoyed the

1:15:19

most just seeing. how it's developed

1:15:21

over the last few weeks. Now, MJF

1:15:23

can always start going into that

1:15:25

kind of cartoon character type version of

1:15:28

himself, which I am not a

1:15:30

fan of. I prefer the more serious

1:15:32

version, which he is very capable

1:15:34

of doing, but I think if some

1:15:36

of his tendencies start to go

1:15:38

into the, you know, the over the

1:15:40

top facial expressions, the variances in

1:15:42

his voice and stuff. But

1:15:45

I have really enjoyed just seeing how

1:15:47

this plays out with the different roles that

1:15:49

everybody's playing in this with MJF trying

1:15:51

to convince the guys to be a part

1:15:53

of the group. But we know that

1:15:55

he can't be trusted. even

1:15:58

though he's kind of getting some

1:16:00

baby face type reactions because I

1:16:02

think his performances have been so

1:16:04

good. You got MVP who's trying

1:16:06

to convince everybody that you should

1:16:08

trust this guy. You got Sheldon

1:16:10

Benjamin, who is somewhat buying

1:16:12

into this. He's kind of going

1:16:15

along with it a little bit, enjoying

1:16:17

the ride for what it is. Bobby

1:16:20

Lashley, who just keeps denying him. He

1:16:22

kind of keeps going, well, maybe we'll

1:16:24

do it. And then he drives off

1:16:26

with the car, which I thought was

1:16:28

a great spot there that MJF's got

1:16:30

this car waiting for him. Bobby Lashley

1:16:32

gets inside of it, kind of holds

1:16:34

out his arm for the thumb, gives

1:16:36

him the thumbs down and speeds off

1:16:38

there and MJF just loses it. So

1:16:41

I've just really been enjoying to see

1:16:43

how this all develops. I don't know

1:16:45

exactly where it goes. If the end

1:16:47

game here is Bobby Lashley versus MJF,

1:16:49

if MJF gets along with these guys

1:16:51

for a period of time, but I'm

1:16:53

enjoying the ride while it's happening. Yeah,

1:16:56

I mean, I think

1:16:58

they've found something good here

1:17:00

with these guys. And

1:17:03

my favorite part

1:17:05

is the MJF.

1:17:09

the cool part that both sides kind of

1:17:11

think they're going to get one up on

1:17:13

the other. You can see both sides say,

1:17:15

we're going to take advantage of this guy. And

1:17:17

so it's like, whose

1:17:20

plan is going to

1:17:22

end up working? Because

1:17:25

you know, they're disingenuous,

1:17:27

both all of them. So

1:17:30

they're all full of shit. Yeah,

1:17:32

right. Yeah. Yeah. And then that's

1:17:34

fun. You know, that's fun. Now,

1:17:36

the thing that I find the

1:17:38

most entertaining is some of the

1:17:40

criticisms of like the MJF, you

1:17:42

know, always, you know, why is

1:17:45

he, why is he bringing out

1:17:47

girls like it's 1998 or why

1:17:49

is he, you know, doing, you

1:17:51

know, it's got to be bribing

1:17:53

them with cars. But lastly, he's

1:17:55

got a ton of cars. And

1:17:57

it's like, well, yes, but you

1:18:00

have to look at it from

1:18:02

MJF's MGF's character is

1:18:04

all about the material items and

1:18:06

those are the type of things that

1:18:08

would win MJF over. So in

1:18:10

his mind, he thinks girls in cars

1:18:12

are gonna win the Hurtson to

1:18:14

get over. So that's how

1:18:16

he views it. So he's

1:18:18

there thinking, I'm gonna use all

1:18:20

these cool things that I

1:18:22

think are amazing to convince them

1:18:24

and it's not working. And

1:18:27

so he's gonna have to.

1:18:29

get something, find something else.

1:18:32

You know, in the Hurts, the kid's

1:18:34

kind of like, all right, we're going

1:18:36

to play hard to get and take

1:18:38

advantage of this kid. You know, but

1:18:40

then MGF's not dumb. So he of

1:18:42

course knows, you know, that that as

1:18:44

well. So he's, you know, everyone's scheming.

1:18:46

And I think that makes it very

1:18:48

intriguing to see how it's going to

1:18:50

end and whether, you know, MGF is

1:18:52

going to join for a little bit

1:18:54

and then see if it blows up

1:18:56

or doesn't or, you know, and. the

1:18:58

dynamics between them because they're all very

1:19:00

good performers. And I also have loved

1:19:02

everybody, seemingly their goal is to get

1:19:04

Bobby Lashley to break on camera. Because

1:19:07

you could tell they're throwing

1:19:09

out just ad -libbing and

1:19:11

some things and calling him

1:19:13

Bob and just trying to

1:19:15

get him to smile. And

1:19:18

I find that entertaining as

1:19:20

well. It's amazing that

1:19:22

the Hertz Syndicate has come

1:19:24

over here from WWE doing

1:19:26

the same group, same gimmick.

1:19:29

And I was very critical of them

1:19:31

signing on these guys because I

1:19:33

think you just have too many of

1:19:35

these former WWE people and especially

1:19:37

given the age of all of these

1:19:39

guys. I mean, they're all near

1:19:41

50 years old at this point. But

1:19:44

I feel like - group has been

1:19:46

such a breath of fresh air,

1:19:48

actually, which just sounds so contradictory to

1:19:50

when you'd look at on paper,

1:19:52

should we add these guys? Should we

1:19:54

not? You know, I would

1:19:56

be like, definitely not. You shouldn't do it

1:19:58

because you just got too many people who fall

1:20:00

on that side of the ledger. you

1:20:02

know, like the Adam Copeland type

1:20:04

of bucket. But they

1:20:07

have just seemed so motivated

1:20:09

to do something fun,

1:20:11

creative, different. They found some

1:20:13

new life, some energy with MJF. MJF

1:20:15

has finally found something that works well

1:20:17

for him. You know, he's still got

1:20:19

a little bit of beef going on

1:20:21

with Heyman and a page. So how

1:20:23

does that... to things as well, you

1:20:25

know, down the line. You know,

1:20:27

I don't think necessarily our jobs are to

1:20:30

figure out what the end game always is.

1:20:32

We're always speculating, you know, what's going to

1:20:34

be on the big show. Because

1:20:36

that's just a fun part of doing

1:20:38

this and also just trying to see where

1:20:40

the direction of the bookings going, but. I'm

1:20:43

just enjoying this one for what it

1:20:46

is in the moments. And I think to

1:20:48

have this be a success in hindsight,

1:20:50

you are going to have to have a

1:20:52

good payoff to all of it. If

1:20:54

the payoff just falls flat, then

1:20:56

yeah, it's not going to be looked

1:20:58

upon fondly in hindsight. But for

1:21:01

what it is right now, I'm just

1:21:03

really enjoying to see how it

1:21:05

develops from week to week. Spring

1:26:42

everybody, so when you get asked

1:26:45

what is Odo, what comes

1:26:47

to mind? Well, I'll tell you,

1:26:49

Odu is a bit of everything. Odu

1:26:51

is a suite of business management

1:26:53

software that some people say is like

1:26:55

fertilizer because the way it promotes

1:26:57

growth. But you know, some people also

1:26:59

say that Odu is like a

1:27:01

magic beanstalk because it grows with your

1:27:03

company and is also magically affordable.

1:27:06

Oh, but then again, you could look

1:27:08

at Odu in terms of how

1:27:35

dot com. Yeah,

1:27:41

no doubt. And I tell

1:27:43

you, I've thought about it. I

1:27:45

think the main reason the

1:27:47

Hurts Syndicate has been such a

1:27:49

success is that a lot

1:27:51

of times these other former WWE

1:27:53

people come in and they

1:27:55

try to kind of play both

1:27:57

roles of being sports entertaining

1:27:59

and then a little serious, but

1:28:01

then kind of trying to

1:28:04

have their fun and trying to

1:28:06

be this, this like. performer

1:28:08

that, I don't know, like maybe

1:28:10

a lot of the characteristics of

1:28:12

where they came from trying to

1:28:14

use those in AEW. And the

1:28:16

Hurt Tint Kit just came in.

1:28:18

They weren't trying to be clever.

1:28:20

They weren't trying to be sports

1:28:22

entertaining. They didn't pander to

1:28:25

the crowd. They came out serious

1:28:27

from the start. when MVP walked

1:28:29

out the first time, dressing like

1:28:31

he dressed, walking out there like

1:28:33

a big deal. Shelton

1:28:35

comes in, looking like a big

1:28:37

deal. Also, the fact that he's

1:28:40

of good size for AEW, so

1:28:42

it's not like he looks small.

1:28:44

He actually looks pretty big, and

1:28:46

then obviously Lashley looks really big,

1:28:48

which is great. They're

1:28:50

huge dudes. Yeah,

1:28:52

right. I mean, just right. But

1:28:55

like height wise, too, like, you

1:28:57

know, when it comes to the

1:28:59

AW roster, there's only a handful

1:29:01

of guys that would tower over

1:29:03

them. So they could be even

1:29:05

more menacing against anybody in the

1:29:07

ring with them. And I think

1:29:09

they've stayed that way. Whereas MVPs,

1:29:11

they've kind of been you know,

1:29:13

turned by the crowd, babyface, they,

1:29:15

you know, MVP will maybe pause to

1:29:17

hear a little bit of chance now

1:29:20

and then, but he's never, there's never

1:29:22

pandering to the crowd. He's never, he's

1:29:24

never like setting them up for like

1:29:26

lions or anything like that. He just

1:29:28

says, we hurt people and the crowd

1:29:30

just decides we're gonna chant, we hurt

1:29:32

people. Like they, it wasn't like CEO,

1:29:35

like you're trying to like get

1:29:37

a, you know, a crowd to

1:29:39

chant something. This, it came organically.

1:29:41

And they're just serious guys. And

1:29:44

even in this MJF stuff,

1:29:46

they're still mostly serious. They're

1:29:48

not sparring back and forth

1:29:50

with him. They're not jokey

1:29:52

in the way they speak.

1:29:54

It's very level. And

1:29:56

even when Shelton just said last

1:29:58

week, I'm not saying

1:30:00

thumbs up because of broads,

1:30:02

which of course always cracks

1:30:04

me up whenever older people

1:30:06

refer to women as broads.

1:30:08

broads and watches I didn't

1:30:10

do this for. It's like,

1:30:12

okay, I get it. So

1:30:14

I really love their presentation.

1:30:17

Yeah, agreed. What's

1:30:19

going on with FTR? They're

1:30:21

going on their heel stuff

1:30:24

right now, turning on cope.

1:30:26

Is this working for you? I'm

1:30:30

more interested in FTR now than

1:30:32

I was before, but

1:30:34

it seems a little overly

1:30:37

forced, like their reasoning kind

1:30:39

of didn't really hit with me.

1:30:41

They're trying to explain why

1:30:43

now all of a sudden they're

1:30:45

awful people and they're gonna

1:30:47

turn on like a guy who's

1:30:49

apparently been their friend for

1:30:51

decades. And so

1:30:53

it's a little odd

1:30:55

that way. it

1:30:57

seems like they understand that the story

1:30:59

is a little thin. So they have

1:31:02

them attacking announcers and things like that

1:31:04

to try to get as much heat

1:31:06

as possible. And

1:31:08

now Stokely Hathaway involved with

1:31:10

them. I love Stokely as a

1:31:12

manager. I'm very intrigued to

1:31:14

see how this is gonna work

1:31:16

because I don't know if

1:31:18

it's going to work. But

1:31:21

I'm also kind

1:31:23

of tired of

1:31:25

the... know, the

1:31:28

Dax and Cash kind of the way

1:31:30

they talk and the way they, you

1:31:32

know, they heal out. So it's like,

1:31:34

if you have another spokesman that might

1:31:36

help a little bit, but it's been

1:31:38

okay. It's enough for me to be

1:31:41

curious how it's gonna end, but I'm

1:31:43

not like, oh, I can't wait. This

1:31:45

is fantastic stuff. It's okay. Is

1:31:47

the end game here for

1:31:49

Coke to come back and

1:31:51

tagging with Christian? Is

1:31:53

that where they're going? Because the

1:31:55

Christian stuff with Nick Wayne is

1:31:58

taking an interesting turn where Nick

1:32:00

Wayne's trying to take more of

1:32:02

an assertive role. He won the

1:32:04

ROH television championship from Colman Dare

1:32:06

in a very good match on

1:32:08

collision. How

1:32:11

are you putting those pieces

1:32:13

together? I'm

1:32:16

not really putting those pieces

1:32:18

together because I don't see how

1:32:20

they piece together, but it

1:32:22

seems like a lot of the

1:32:24

speculation across all of wrestling

1:32:26

media is the fact that that

1:32:28

looks like an FTR against

1:32:30

COVID Christian. But I don't

1:32:32

know how you're getting Christian

1:32:34

to do that, because you can't

1:32:37

turn Christian now. I

1:32:39

don't see what the storyline could

1:32:41

be, he's still a jerk, so

1:32:43

it would have to be a

1:32:45

heel Christian probably where Copeland has

1:32:47

no other choice and he needs

1:32:50

somebody and he somehow convinces Christian

1:32:52

to help him. But

1:32:54

then why would Christian want to help him?

1:32:57

He hates him, he just tries

1:32:59

to interfere and uses contract

1:33:01

to beat him for the title,

1:33:03

which is being intimated by

1:33:05

Nick Wayne, which is he went

1:33:07

against the plan and used

1:33:09

the contract so he could pin

1:33:11

Cope. because he has

1:33:13

this hatred for Cope. So why

1:33:15

would he now in a month

1:33:17

or two, or what's

1:33:19

it now? Okay, so a few months.

1:33:21

But in a few months, Walsh also didn't want

1:33:23

to team with him. They really have to do

1:33:25

a good job of the storyline to make that

1:33:27

make sense. Yeah, and I

1:33:30

know that they've been building this

1:33:32

stuff up with Nick Wayne, but is

1:33:34

that going to be enough to

1:33:36

turn Christian after all this time? It

1:33:38

just doesn't feel like Nick Wayne

1:33:40

has a strong enough or developed enough

1:33:42

character at this point to make

1:33:44

such a dramatic shift to get to

1:33:46

that point. to

1:33:48

have that happen. I mean, of course,

1:33:50

if you're AEW, you wanna get to

1:33:52

Christian and Cope as a tag

1:33:54

team at some point. Before one of

1:33:56

those guys decides to retire, their contract

1:33:58

runs out, run into a significant

1:34:00

injury. That's what you want to

1:34:02

do. You want to get one. And we

1:34:04

know that Tony is a huge fan of

1:34:07

both of those guys. That's his era. He

1:34:09

would love to see that. And especially on

1:34:11

a show like All In. And

1:34:13

I think it would be significant

1:34:15

the time that they do

1:34:17

tag with each other again. I

1:34:19

think that would be a really

1:34:21

big deal. But how you get

1:34:23

there, it just seems like. they're

1:34:26

setting themselves up for, unless

1:34:28

they have a genius idea that

1:34:30

is kind of over all

1:34:32

of us, it seems like however

1:34:34

they eventually get there, it

1:34:36

just seems like it's going to

1:34:38

be a discombobulated type of

1:34:40

story. Yeah, because

1:34:42

the last we saw Christian, I mean, yeah,

1:34:44

Nick Wayne might be pulling the, I

1:34:48

know he's 20 or

1:34:50

whatever, but the teenager disgruntled

1:34:52

and that kind of

1:34:54

role, but Christian just said

1:34:56

to him, intimated that

1:34:58

he spent the night with

1:35:00

his mom and all

1:35:02

this stuff just a few

1:35:04

days ago. It's like, I

1:35:06

don't see how, if they were trying to

1:35:08

set the stage for Christian somehow becoming, I

1:35:11

don't know, like a baby

1:35:13

phase in some form. he

1:35:15

wouldn't still be doing that.

1:35:17

He still wouldn't be trying

1:35:19

to kind of take advantage

1:35:21

of Nick Wayne. So I

1:35:23

don't know. They both weren't

1:35:26

really playing that one of

1:35:28

them was turning in the

1:35:30

way the interaction was last

1:35:32

week. Maybe they start doing

1:35:34

it in the future and

1:35:36

then something happens. But as

1:35:38

of now, I don't see

1:35:41

either of them really being

1:35:43

a baby face at any

1:35:45

time soon. Right

1:35:47

yeah, you could you could bring

1:35:49

back Hill switch at some point and

1:35:51

you know have him aligning with

1:35:54

Nick Wayne and they do a giant

1:35:56

beatdown of Christian, but Yeah, I

1:35:58

just don't know how that gets you

1:36:00

turn the whole personality I don't

1:36:02

think I just think it would be

1:36:04

with a character like Christian It

1:36:06

would be really weak to just have

1:36:08

a beatdown of him and then And

1:36:11

then all of a sudden, Christian comes back,

1:36:13

and he wants his revenge, and he's cheered

1:36:15

as a babyface. It just seems you're going

1:36:17

to need a lot more developments than just

1:36:19

that. Yeah, because right now,

1:36:21

since all the story they've told long

1:36:23

term, it's if Christian gets attacked by

1:36:25

even if it's two people, they've

1:36:28

had enough of

1:36:30

Christians' evilness, so they're the

1:36:32

babyfaces now. It's not all of a

1:36:34

sudden Christian. And if a

1:36:36

weak attempt of Christian getting beat

1:36:38

down and Cope coming to

1:36:40

his rescue to try to do

1:36:42

that, it doesn't seem like

1:36:44

it makes any sense either. So

1:36:46

right now I see no

1:36:49

way of them pulling that off

1:36:51

unless they're gonna just say

1:36:53

they're both heels and Copeland is

1:36:55

so desperate to get revenge

1:36:57

on FTR after all they've done

1:36:59

that he goes to a

1:37:01

former friend and says, I don't

1:37:03

know. I'll pay you

1:37:05

a bunch of money. I don't know, whatever it

1:37:07

is, but then why would you trust them too?

1:37:09

Like why would you trust them as your partner?

1:37:11

Is it just to get the two together again?

1:37:14

Yeah, they have a lot of work to do if

1:37:16

they're gonna get to what is being speculated. Yeah,

1:37:19

you could have FTR obviously

1:37:21

aligning themselves with Nick Wayne in

1:37:23

some way and FTR is

1:37:25

a part of some sort of

1:37:27

beatdown of Christian. And

1:37:30

so, you know, the enemy of

1:37:32

my enemy, you know, as my friend or

1:37:34

whatever that is. So, yeah.

1:37:40

Yeah, it just seems like it's

1:37:42

difficult to get there. Saks

1:44:29

Okay. What else

1:44:31

is there, Greg? What else am I

1:44:33

missing with AEW of the current storyline

1:44:35

stuff that we need to hit on?

1:44:38

Well, actually, looking at my dynamite

1:44:40

notes, one thing we haven't

1:44:42

talked about a little bit was

1:44:44

Ricochet, Mark Briscoe match, which I thought

1:44:47

was a great match and a

1:44:49

great decision to have Mark Briscoe win.

1:44:52

Because this was one of those

1:44:54

matches where it's screamed predictable the

1:44:56

whole time. You kind of thought

1:44:58

Briscoe would do his normal thing, putting up

1:45:00

a good match and losing and him getting

1:45:02

a win. Even though you don't want Ricochet

1:45:04

losing too much, but this was a perfect

1:45:06

opportunity to set the stage for, okay,

1:45:09

now moving forward, when

1:45:11

I think it's completely predictable in these

1:45:13

type of matchups between these kind of

1:45:15

guys and their roles, it's like,

1:45:17

oh, well, maybe they'll go another direction. And

1:45:20

so I thought that was a

1:45:22

good decision. Briscoe needed a win.

1:45:24

Ricochet now can kind of. get

1:45:27

upset and do the whole Kevin

1:45:29

Knight thing, which is what it looks

1:45:31

like he's doing now because he

1:45:33

ends up interfering in the Bucks match

1:45:35

later on to start something with

1:45:37

Kevin Knight and phew, that match, oh

1:45:39

my God. Like you can imagine,

1:45:41

the Ricochet -Kevin Knight match is gonna

1:45:43

be just off the charts. So

1:45:47

I enjoyed that match.

1:45:50

Let's see what else do I got. Let's

1:45:58

see, we talked

1:46:00

about the women. The

1:46:02

only thing I mentioned a little

1:46:04

bit earlier is that I really,

1:46:06

I say it every week, I

1:46:08

know. But since we haven't been on

1:46:10

in three weeks, it's slightly fresh. No

1:46:12

follow up to that first

1:46:15

segment in the show from

1:46:17

Dynamite, it just I think

1:46:19

is just the worst idea

1:46:21

ever. It's like even. some

1:46:24

backstage interview to follow up with

1:46:26

Swerve or Kenny. I mean, all you

1:46:28

got was Kenny coming out for

1:46:30

like three minutes and then that's it

1:46:32

for the whole show. It's like,

1:46:34

he's your top guy, Swerve, top guys.

1:46:36

These top, top guys that are

1:46:39

getting involved. You had

1:46:41

the great Swerve and Samoa Joe

1:46:43

facial expressions, glances at each other

1:46:45

that you could play off of

1:46:47

to help. And maybe they obviously

1:46:49

playing to do something like that

1:46:51

in the coming weeks. But still,

1:46:53

it's like you have such a

1:46:55

star studded opening segment and then

1:46:57

you don't really mention it the

1:46:59

rest of the show. Even just

1:47:01

saying, hey, in the second hour,

1:47:03

hey, if you missed the top

1:47:05

of the show, we had this

1:47:08

brawl and these guys and everyone's

1:47:10

coming out and just remind people.

1:47:12

But I don't understand why they

1:47:14

so rarely do that, because I

1:47:16

praise them when they do. But

1:47:18

it's seemingly like nine out of

1:47:21

10 weeks. Whatever you get in the

1:47:23

first segment is not brought up

1:47:25

again. Yeah,

1:47:27

and this one was so significant with having

1:47:29

all those stars come out there. And

1:47:31

certainly, it was setting up for a number of

1:47:33

things that are to come down the line

1:47:36

here. Another

1:47:38

one of those quote, straight in your

1:47:40

time moments of needing to follow up

1:47:42

on the stuff that happens in that

1:47:44

first segment. Yeah, and

1:47:46

they've had a great run of dynamites

1:47:48

in the last few weeks. So you

1:47:50

can say nitpicking or not, but I

1:47:53

really think people are going to forget.

1:47:55

you know when you have so much

1:47:57

action going on and so there's such

1:47:59

a big roster so many storylines going

1:48:01

on at one time you know you're

1:48:03

thinking all the way back to the

1:48:05

beginning of the show oh yeah that

1:48:07

was that was really cool you know

1:48:09

but you know but I'm sure they'll

1:48:12

have some follow -ups and and hopefully they

1:48:14

start learning a little bit to you

1:48:16

know follow up a little bit as

1:48:18

the shows go on. The

1:48:20

other thing I actually wanted to say

1:48:22

at some point during the show was

1:48:24

just on the Mariah May news and

1:48:27

It's so funny, you can kind of

1:48:29

go down the rabbit hole of

1:48:31

social media and just shake your head

1:48:34

at people's reactions to this event,

1:48:36

depending on what side they're on and

1:48:38

all that. And to me, it

1:48:40

seems very simple. To my understanding of

1:48:42

the whole thing is that Mariah

1:48:44

May is an amazing talent. And

1:48:47

there was no guarantee she

1:48:49

would be this good when AEW

1:48:51

brought her in. They signed

1:48:53

her to a contract for two

1:48:55

years. Sounds fair enough. You

1:48:57

kind of determine. And

1:48:59

she crushed it. And

1:49:01

if her goal after the two year contract

1:49:03

is to say, OK, I'm going to

1:49:06

look at my options. And if she always

1:49:08

had a dream to go somewhere else,

1:49:10

she has every right to go somewhere else.

1:49:12

And if AW wanted to keep her,

1:49:14

they can offer her whatever they want to

1:49:16

offer her. If she decides, you know

1:49:18

what, I prefer to go to this other

1:49:20

place, it's not. It's

1:49:22

not the fault of anybody. There's no

1:49:24

blame to be going around. There's no,

1:49:26

oh, Tony Khan, you should have seen

1:49:28

the future and signed her to a

1:49:30

10 year deal or something. And

1:49:33

there's no blame, well, WWE is

1:49:35

like tampering, whatever it's like. If

1:49:38

her contract ends up being up,

1:49:40

it's up. And if it's clear

1:49:42

that she's leaving. then she

1:49:44

shouldn't be showcased on television for

1:49:46

these last couple of months if

1:49:48

I'm Tony Khan. Why would you

1:49:50

do this? He

1:49:52

doesn't see, he's not a jerk to the

1:49:55

point where he's gonna go and job her

1:49:57

out and bring her and say, okay, you're

1:49:59

gonna come and we're gonna job you out

1:50:01

and make you as weak as that's a

1:50:03

WWE move, like your Vince McMahon move, whatever.

1:50:06

So the criticism,

1:50:09

I just think, It's okay to not have

1:50:11

something be someone's fault and it just happens

1:50:13

to be good for Mariah May. She gets

1:50:15

to go where she wants to go. She'll

1:50:17

make a ton of money and all the

1:50:19

best. I prefer as

1:50:21

an AEW fan that she stayed or

1:50:23

they resigned her somehow because I

1:50:26

think she's a great talent. I enjoyed

1:50:28

watching her. But I'm not

1:50:30

mad at her for going if that's what

1:50:32

she wants to do. I

1:50:34

think it's a great play for her,

1:50:36

actually, is that she's had this great

1:50:38

run that apparently she signed a two

1:50:40

-year deal with AEW, had this great

1:50:42

storyline with Tony Storm, and the storyline

1:50:45

came to an end. And I think

1:50:47

that this was a very logical way

1:50:49

to end it. her,

1:50:51

I think her time in AEW

1:50:53

can be done unless they figure something

1:50:55

out for her to come back.

1:50:57

But for her, I think that she

1:51:00

is now proven on national TV

1:51:02

that she can be a part of

1:51:04

something important with matches that pay

1:51:06

off for it. So why wouldn't WWE

1:51:08

be interested? And maybe

1:51:10

she's trying to negotiate for a

1:51:12

bigger deal as a part of

1:51:14

this, but I

1:51:17

think you can do really well

1:51:19

jumping over to the other side there.

1:51:21

So I don't really have any

1:51:23

issue with how anybody's playing this at

1:51:25

all. I know that the

1:51:27

tribal nature of things that people

1:51:29

want, everyone to stay on their

1:51:31

side, or if you're on the

1:51:33

WWE side, it's like, oh, there's

1:51:35

another dagger. AEW because

1:51:37

we're going to get another one of their people. So

1:51:40

look at AEW just falling down yet

1:51:42

again. Whereas I just don't see it

1:51:44

like that at all. I just think

1:51:46

that this is the best case scenario

1:51:48

for her that she's playing her options

1:51:50

and I think she's going to get

1:51:52

a good deal out of it. So

1:51:54

good for Mariah. Right. Yeah.

1:51:56

mean, I like it. You know,

1:51:59

I always look at my sports teams

1:52:01

and stuff like that. And, you

1:52:03

know, like last year, my baseball team,

1:52:05

my Orioles. traded for Corbin Burns,

1:52:07

great pitcher, ace pitcher. And he

1:52:09

had one year left on his contract. They traded

1:52:11

for him. He's going to be there. He

1:52:14

was not interested in signing a

1:52:16

contract extension because he was going to

1:52:18

be a free agent and he

1:52:20

could go to the highest bidder. And

1:52:22

he spent one great year with

1:52:24

the Orioles. And unfortunately, they lost in

1:52:27

the playoffs, but whatever it was,

1:52:29

they offered him a very good contract

1:52:31

to come back. and

1:52:33

he chose a similar contract

1:52:35

to go to Arizona where

1:52:37

he's from. Okay,

1:52:40

but then there's people blaming, well, they should have

1:52:42

signed up to an extension. Well, he didn't

1:52:44

want to, he's gonna be a free agent, or

1:52:46

they should have done this or should have

1:52:48

done that. And it's like, you can't

1:52:50

blame the guy, you're at the end of

1:52:52

your contract, you're fortunate enough to kind of

1:52:54

have a bidding war against you, you take

1:52:57

advantage and you go to the place you're

1:52:59

most comfortable. And if she looks at WWE

1:53:01

right now and says, this is perfect for

1:53:03

me, go for it. And if

1:53:05

Tony steps up and says, we'll give

1:53:07

you all this money, she says, all

1:53:09

right, I like the money, I'll come

1:53:11

back. Okay, great, but no blame. She's

1:53:13

the winner, no matter what, and she's

1:53:15

earned it by her performances and what

1:53:17

she's done, the hard

1:53:19

work she's put in. So it's

1:53:21

okay, it's okay. The women's

1:53:24

division AEW is solid, and so

1:53:26

I think losing her is

1:53:28

a hit. to the division for

1:53:30

sure. But then I don't

1:53:32

think it all a sudden, it's

1:53:34

like, oh, you've lost your

1:53:36

best person. Now it's all downhill.

1:53:39

There's no one left. Yeah, yeah.

1:53:43

Other news too, Greg, I don't know

1:53:45

if you've seen that Darby Allen

1:53:47

is well on his way climbing Mount

1:53:49

Everest. And from what I've seen

1:53:51

here, is that everything seems to be

1:53:53

going really well. So that's great

1:53:55

news. I'm looking at some pictures right

1:53:57

now of how he is making

1:53:59

the trek up there. I believe he's

1:54:01

with his brother as well. And

1:54:04

it seems that Darby is doing

1:54:06

well. So we hope that that continues

1:54:08

to go well as he climbs

1:54:10

to the top of the mountain and

1:54:12

then it makes his way back

1:54:14

down. Okay, well,

1:54:17

best elect to Darby and

1:54:19

yeah, that's daunting. Just

1:54:21

thinking about that. Yeah, not something

1:54:23

I will ever do in my

1:54:25

lifetime, but I think it's really

1:54:27

cool that that anybody who decides

1:54:29

to do that and take on

1:54:31

the risk and the training and

1:54:33

everything involved with it, but Yeah,

1:54:36

and looks like he's He's well

1:54:38

on his way. So yeah, mean

1:54:40

I get winded walking up a

1:54:42

hill in the Midwest So it's

1:54:44

like, you know walking up the

1:54:46

climb in a mountain they know

1:54:48

thanks Yeah Yeah, I'm in the

1:54:50

same boat here. I don't know

1:54:53

how much, how long the knees

1:54:55

would hold up. We're in great

1:54:57

shape, man. We're in great shape,

1:54:59

but we're in Everest shape, you

1:55:01

know? Well, I'm not even

1:55:03

sure if Darby feels any pain, so maybe there

1:55:05

is all this stuff going on, but he just,

1:55:07

yeah. Who knows, but...

1:55:09

That is true. Well, God

1:55:11

willing, God

1:55:13

willing, he makes it through unscathed,

1:55:16

and then he can come back,

1:55:18

and that's another thing to throw

1:55:20

into. you know, wheel

1:55:24

with their plans for the summer because there's

1:55:26

a lot of speculation, you know, months ago

1:55:28

that he was going to be the guy

1:55:30

to beat Moxley for the title. So now

1:55:32

there's like so many options, but

what direction they should go. Saks

everybody, so when you get asked,

2:01:18

what is Odu, what comes to mind?

2:01:20

Well, I'll tell you, Odu is

2:01:22

a bit of everything. Odu is a

2:02:05

up now at odu dot com that's

o d o o dot com. He

2:02:14

should come back and just totally abandoned

2:02:16

the skateboard gimmick and just be the

2:02:18

mountain climber guy now you know he

2:02:20

comes in with a with an. ice

2:02:23

pick and stuff and he's got like

2:02:25

the rope around him and totally just

2:02:27

abandons the old Darby Allen character. I

2:02:30

think he should come back as

2:02:32

like a old school like in a

2:02:34

like old school right to censor

2:02:36

like suit looking thing and walk down

2:02:38

with the Hertz syndicate or something

2:02:40

and be like all of a sudden

2:02:42

he's like he's like you know

2:02:44

Darby in in the in you know

2:02:46

dressed to the nines and serious

2:02:48

guy. Covering

2:02:50

up all of the. the tattoos and everything and

2:02:52

now, no, I don't think that should happen,

2:02:54

but I think it'd be funny. Yes,

2:02:56

yes it would. All

2:02:59

right, great. So I got

2:03:01

some upcoming lineups here that

2:03:03

they recorded collision after Dynamite

2:03:05

and that will be airing

2:03:07

later this evening. And they

2:03:09

will have Blake Christian versus

2:03:11

Worf Strickland, Queen Aminata versus

2:03:14

Tony Storm, Hologram versus

2:03:16

Max Caster. Anna

2:03:18

J versus Taylor Ganey.

2:03:21

Top flights, Dante and

2:03:23

Darius Martin versus CRU, Aksha

2:03:26

Andretti and Leo Rush. We

2:03:28

have an ROH world title

2:03:30

match between Bondido and Drillistico.

2:03:33

Roosh who returned recently versus

2:03:35

AR Fox and FTR's

2:03:37

Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood

2:03:40

versus Kyle O 'Reilly and

2:03:42

Roderick Strong. Yeah,

2:03:45

so you know collision which has

2:03:47

been newsworthy recently this one screams no

2:03:49

news You know like decent matches

2:03:51

no news. So I you know, it's

2:03:53

a shame they kind of have

2:03:55

to go back to that but there's

2:03:57

also You you have to look

2:03:59

at it is I believe this was

2:04:01

one they taped the same night,

2:04:03

right? So when you have

2:04:06

those it makes it more difficult

2:04:08

for them to Make the

2:04:10

collision anything else but a B show

2:04:12

where you're kind of putting the rest

2:04:14

of the group that didn't wrestle on

2:04:16

to the end of that card and

2:04:18

then you know And it's are you

2:04:20

gonna bring back? Omega, you know or

2:04:22

one of those tower MJF one of

2:04:24

the top guys for the collision portion

2:04:26

Usually unlikely so you get a better

2:04:28

chance when you have those Wednesday Thursdays

2:04:30

or the Wednesday Saturdays to have a

2:04:32

better collision But you know, I'd like

2:04:34

for it to be a little more

2:04:36

newsworthy Right after the

2:04:38

show there's just gonna be a lot

2:04:41

of squash matches, you know the hologram

2:04:43

match and a J match You know

2:04:45

in some shorter stuff and a few

2:04:47

things to keep the crowd engaged a

2:04:49

little bit And then they'll round out

2:04:51

the rest of the show with some

2:04:53

pre -tape promos. Yeah Then also next week's

2:04:55

dynamite is gonna be Norfolk Norfolk, Virginia

2:04:58

It's gonna be Hangman Adam Page versus

2:05:00

Kyle Fletcher. Remember that this is

2:05:03

in Hangman Adam Page home state. So

2:05:05

there should be a lot of

2:05:07

backing for him in that match. Yep,

2:05:11

and I would lean in

2:05:13

Hangman on that one. Yeah.

2:05:17

Then a few weeks from now, so

2:05:19

skipping the Detroit show, which has nothing

2:05:21

announced yet. They're gonna be in Hoffman

2:05:23

State, Illinois at the now arena. For

2:05:26

Dynamite's Beach Break, which will

2:05:28

feature the AEW World Championship,

2:05:30

John Moxley defends against Samoa

2:05:33

Joe. That'll

2:05:35

be fun. And

2:05:38

I'm sure, I'm hoping, maybe they'll

2:05:40

do some sort of pretty

2:05:42

anarchy and arena type tag matches.

2:05:44

I'd love like a Kenny and swerve against

2:05:46

the box type of tag. And that

2:05:49

would be lovely for Detroit, so do something

2:05:51

about that. Yeah, yeah. That would be

2:05:53

good. I think they'll still end up with

2:05:55

some good stuff on that show. I'm

2:05:57

sure, yeah. I mean, I know

2:06:00

they like the area. The area

2:06:02

has been supportive of ticket sales

2:06:04

for the arena or the venue

2:06:06

that they're having it in has

2:06:08

been, I think, it's

2:06:10

like, you know, three -ish thousand and

2:06:12

2 ,000 or so sold. So

2:06:14

they're hoping for, you know, but

2:06:16

that's the thing. Put some matches

2:06:19

on there and make people say,

2:06:21

oh, I'll go. you know, rather

2:06:23

than, you know, than not. But

2:06:25

I'm very curious to see how

2:06:27

it's going to look in that

2:06:29

venue because I've said this Masonic

2:06:32

Temple in Detroit. They've I've seen

2:06:34

concerts and and and like stand

2:06:36

up comedy and stuff there before. So

2:06:39

I'm curious to see how they're going to set it up. But

2:06:41

yeah, it'll be it'll be fun.

2:06:44

I'll send you pictures. Please do. Do

2:06:46

you know do you know what the ticket

2:06:48

sales are for that show in Detroit

2:06:50

now? Yeah, well, it's like

2:06:52

I said, I think it's

2:06:55

like 2000 sold and 3000

2:06:57

capacity, which I would

2:06:59

I would hope there was a little bit

2:07:01

more. So it looks

2:07:03

like 1000 ish seats yet

2:07:05

to be sold, which is

2:07:07

why I think announcing some

2:07:09

stuff would help. And I think

2:07:11

the collision was maybe 1500

2:07:13

sold or maybe out of the

2:07:16

3000 or maybe a little

2:07:18

less. But

2:07:20

that's the reputation. When

2:07:22

you have the reputation

2:07:24

of the collision not

2:07:26

being as meaningful, it

2:07:29

makes it tough to sell

2:07:31

that. But there usually seems to

2:07:33

be a lot of last

2:07:35

minute sales, because I think people

2:07:37

have learned that they might

2:07:39

come up with deals or lesser

2:07:41

ticket prices in the week

2:07:43

prior. I think that's been

2:07:45

the AEW thing for the last year

2:07:47

or two, where people have not jumped

2:07:49

on buying tickets immediately. But we'll see.

2:07:51

I'm curious, because the last time they

2:07:54

were in Detroit, it

2:07:56

was Kenny Omega. It

2:07:58

was the Don Callis

2:08:00

turns on Omega in

2:08:03

the cage. And

2:08:05

that had, at Little Ceasars

2:08:07

Arena, had, I think, close to

2:08:09

9 ,000 people there. when

2:08:13

I was there. And

2:08:15

so that was two full

2:08:17

years ago. So yeah,

2:08:19

so it's disappointing. But I

2:08:21

think just build it

2:08:23

up, man. Give the

2:08:25

rest of the last thousand a

2:08:27

reason to go there. And I

2:08:30

know the crowd will be into

2:08:32

it because the Detroit area fans

2:08:34

or wrestling fans are definitely can

2:08:36

be loud and entertaining. So hopeful.

2:08:39

Yeah, I did find the WrestleTicks that

2:08:42

backs up what you were saying from

2:08:44

just a couple days ago that there's

2:08:46

currently 1101

2:08:48

tickets available for Dynamite

2:08:50

and then for Collision.

2:08:53

There is a lot of tickets available

2:08:55

for that show that right now they're

2:08:57

saying Collision has 892. The

2:09:00

thing is for both these shows,

2:09:02

I mean, they're gonna find a

2:09:04

way to fill them right before

2:09:06

whether it's seat fillers or super

2:09:08

discounted tickets that, you know, there's

2:09:10

never gonna be just as empty

2:09:12

cavernous type of arena. that

2:09:14

I think they'll find another way.

2:09:17

And for a context that you

2:09:19

were talking about the Little Caesars

2:09:21

Arena show, that was on May

2:09:23

10th, 2023 for Dynamite, and they

2:09:25

did 8 ,173. Okay, so it

2:09:27

was 899. But yeah, so yeah,

2:09:29

but it was, and that 8 ,000

2:09:32

was a drop of like, maybe

2:09:34

three or 4 ,000 from the year

2:09:36

prior to that, which was the

2:09:38

Blood and Guts. I think it

2:09:40

was the first Blood and Guts, is one of our standing

2:09:42

bar in that throat. by

2:09:47

what's his name? I

2:09:50

don't know. Anyway, it'll pop in

2:09:52

my head later. But

2:09:55

yeah, so it's interesting. I think

2:09:57

they've been searching for a couple

2:09:59

of years to find a venue

2:10:01

that works, and this Masonic Temple

2:10:03

is to be interesting. It's to

2:10:05

be one of those that has

2:10:07

a short ramp, and they're probably

2:10:09

going to shoot it from the

2:10:11

ramp area where you can see

2:10:16

multi balconies and stuff up there. So

2:10:18

it should have a really cool unique

2:10:20

look that you've seen a lot of

2:10:22

the more recent dynamites have had in certain

2:10:24

venues. So yeah, I think it'll be

2:10:26

good. I think it'll be, and

2:10:28

I think they'll fill most of it. I

2:10:32

look forward to hearing about that

2:10:34

and seeing some photos. Speaking

2:10:36

of live wrestling, as we had

2:10:38

talked before, non -AEW shows, but

2:10:40

I was very fortunate to go to the

2:10:42

New Japan Windy City Riot. I was

2:10:44

at WrestleMania. Any questions or

2:10:46

anything that you wanna know about either

2:10:48

of those things, Greg? No, I

2:10:50

don't care about those. Yeah, I

2:10:53

think this is an AEW show. No,

2:10:55

no, please, I mean, share anything

that you think of note that,

2:11:00

you know, I'm sure it was

Vegas. I saw

2:11:06

a couple pictures you sent from

2:11:13

had to have been, because it

2:18:01

Yeah, it's, I mean, it's a super

2:18:03

cool event, but I mean, they've made

2:18:05

it so cost prohibitive that, you know,

2:18:07

I mean, certainly looking back on it,

2:18:09

it's like, man, how much money to

2:18:11

spend to go to this type of

2:18:13

event. And whenever you do Vegas, I

2:18:15

mean, that's, what you have to know

2:18:17

about Vegas, as you know, Greg, from

2:18:19

going there every year for the March

2:18:21

Madness Tournament is that you are paying

2:18:23

for a premium experience. That is what

2:18:25

you are doing, you know? And when

2:18:27

people, you can do Vegas cheaply, But

2:18:30

to really get the full experience

2:18:32

of it, you have to understand

2:18:34

how much money you're paying for.

2:18:36

And so I think it's smart

2:18:38

that AEW had moved double or

2:18:40

nothing this year to Glendale, Arizona,

2:18:42

versus trying to run Vegas again

2:18:44

after people just spent a ton

2:18:46

of money going there for WrestleMania

2:18:48

weekend. There's not a ton

2:18:50

of AEW connection there because they

2:18:52

stopped running that ROH show, The

2:18:54

Supercard of Honor. So there's a

2:18:57

couple people if they get booked

2:18:59

here and there. So I saw

2:19:01

a few AEW people at the

2:19:03

WrestleCon convention. So I saw the

2:19:05

Hurt Business there. I heard a

2:19:07

funny anecdote about them going to

2:19:10

a dispensary there. But

2:19:13

as I was mentioning, those guys are

2:19:15

huge. I mean, just walking by them.

2:19:17

in the event there that they are

2:19:19

huge. And also

2:19:21

at the event was Mariah May,

2:19:23

I saw Willow Nightingale there. I

2:19:26

mentioned to you that outside

2:19:28

of Mike Tyson, who was

2:19:30

the big draw for WrestleCon,

2:19:32

and that was, well, I'll

2:19:35

try to take it in pieces here that

2:19:37

the Mike Tyson thing caused a lot of

2:19:39

issues at WrestleCon. I did not end up

2:19:41

seeing Mike Tyson because I didn't stay at

2:19:43

the at WrestleCon for very long. I mean,

2:19:45

unless you're just going there to look at

2:19:47

wrestlers for the most part and they have

2:19:49

some memorabilia, and then if there's people you

2:19:52

want to meet, you can go

2:19:54

up to them and get a picture

2:19:56

with them. And I did that for

2:19:58

a couple people just to be able to talk

2:20:00

to them for a little bit. I met Gabe

2:20:02

Kidd and I had a nice little conversation with

2:20:04

him. He didn't

2:20:06

have a huge line there because

2:20:08

most of the people who are

2:20:10

going to this are really interested

2:20:12

in the former WWE star. So

2:20:14

like Kurt Angle had a pretty

2:20:16

big line. Some people in line for

2:20:18

Ric Flair, but he's been around for so long. So

2:20:20

if you've met, if you want to meet Ric Flair

2:20:22

and you've been to these things, you've probably already met

2:20:24

him and did that. You know,

2:20:27

Mick Foley always has a nice line,

2:20:29

Kevin Nash. So a lot

2:20:31

of the former WWE people, but Mike

2:20:33

Tyson was not. at the event at

2:20:35

the time that he was supposed to

2:20:37

be. And so this line

2:20:39

for him just kept growing and growing

2:20:41

and growing because they didn't stop

2:20:44

selling tickets for it. And so, man,

2:20:46

the congestion that it caused in

2:20:48

this hotel. So it was at the

2:20:50

Westgate Hotel. So right

2:20:52

by the convention center where they

2:20:54

were having that WWE World

2:20:56

event. I mean,

2:20:58

there were so many damn people

2:21:00

in line for Mike Tyson that

2:21:02

it was nearly impossible at one

2:21:04

point to even navigate getting around

2:21:06

the convention where the security was

2:21:09

getting really overwhelmed with where to

2:21:11

even put the people. And like

2:21:13

I said, they just keep adding

2:21:15

more people to the line. And

2:21:17

this guy was not here on

2:21:19

time. So I. I didn't hear

2:21:21

that he didn't show up. So

2:21:23

I'm assuming he did. And how

2:21:25

long did he stay for? I

2:21:27

don't know because to get through

2:21:29

all that many people would take

2:21:31

hours. So I don't know how

2:21:33

that all played out. But in

2:21:35

addition to that, I mentioned to

2:21:37

you, Greg, that the second biggest

2:21:39

line for this whole event was

2:21:41

for timeless Tony Storm. she had

2:21:43

a huge line of people waiting

2:21:45

to meet her. And she was

2:21:47

spending more time with people than

2:21:49

I think other people with the

2:21:51

really big lines where depending on

2:21:53

their mood and who it is,

2:21:55

sometimes they just kind of sign

2:21:57

the autograph, thanks, and be on

2:21:59

your way. Tony Storm was

2:22:01

really taking time to listen to

2:22:03

people, talk with them. I don't

2:22:05

know exactly if she was like in

2:22:07

the timeless Tony Storm character. I didn't

2:22:09

get closer, you know, wait in line

2:22:11

for that. So I don't know exactly,

2:22:14

but I mean, that certainly

2:22:16

stood out in this whole

2:22:18

convention hall of these, you

2:22:20

know, legend wrestlers and stuff

2:22:22

from all different promotions that

2:22:24

Tony Storm was a huge

2:22:26

draw for this event and

2:22:28

had a tremendous line. That's

2:22:31

awesome to hear. And maybe

2:22:33

some of it is the fact

2:22:35

that she seems like someone you could

2:22:37

walk up to and talk to

2:22:39

and would give a little more time.

2:22:42

I go to the local Comic -Cons here

2:22:44

over the past bunch of years, and I

2:22:46

don't do a whole bunch of the

2:22:48

waiting in line, getting the picture with. Once

2:22:50

in a while. But one guy I

2:22:52

really wanted to do years ago was Henry

2:22:54

Winkler, the font. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Or

2:22:56

now, or now as people know from Barry,

2:22:58

the show Barry and all that stuff.

2:23:00

But, you know, known as like the nicest

2:23:02

guy in Hollywood for all these years.

2:23:04

And I was curious or whatever. And so

2:23:06

one time I was like, all right,

2:23:09

I'm going to stand in line for him.

2:23:11

And he did like, and he, he

2:23:13

was exactly as advertised, which was great. Like

2:23:15

he would sit there and he'd talk

2:23:17

to people and he'd sign. And then, and

2:23:19

then after every like three or four

2:23:21

people, he'd walk over to where like the

2:23:23

over, the overrun people like or, or

2:23:25

standing like, you know, farther

2:23:27

away and just said,

2:23:29

thank you everybody for coming.

2:23:32

I'm gonna get to you, I promise. And

2:23:34

I appreciate you guys waiting in line for

2:23:36

me, it's amazing. And I'll get to you, I

2:23:38

promise. And then he'll go back and he'll

2:23:40

sign four or five more people and then he'll

2:23:42

come back out to like the new people

2:23:44

way and do the same thing. I was like,

2:23:46

that works. And so people who do that,

2:23:48

I would assume if what you're saying is similar,

2:23:50

it's like Tony, giving

2:23:53

the time makes it more worth it

2:23:55

if you're gonna pay 50 bucks, 75

2:23:58

bucks, 100, whatever it is cost to

2:24:00

do the meet and greets and that

2:24:02

kind of stuff that they really get

2:24:04

a lot of time. So that's nice

2:24:06

to hear. I actually had a question

2:24:08

for you. When you do decide to

2:24:10

meet someone or get a picture or

2:24:12

whatever, do you tell them, I'm Joel

2:24:15

DeNell from PWTorch? Or do you just

2:24:17

say, I'm Joel, I'm a fan? And

2:24:19

that's it, I'm curious. There's

2:24:23

no wrong answer, you know. No,

2:24:26

I, you know, because the only wrestler

2:24:28

that I had a somewhat conversation

2:24:30

with was Gabe Kid. And it was

2:24:32

mostly just kind of talking about

2:24:34

his journey and stuff. And it kind

2:24:36

of where he's at right now,

2:24:38

what he wants to do in his

2:24:40

career and how things have really

2:24:42

picked up for him this last year,

2:24:44

and then especially the beginning of

2:24:46

this year that he just, he, you

2:24:49

know, he's spent so much time

2:24:51

now in New Japan. and kind of

2:24:53

building the name there. And then

2:24:55

the stuff with Kenny Omega really put

2:24:57

his name on the map to

2:24:59

a lot of other people, especially that

2:25:01

AEW audience who hadn't previously known

2:25:03

who he was before. And so it

2:25:05

just was kind of cool to

2:25:07

hear a little bit about how things

2:25:09

have dramatically changed for him since

2:25:11

the beginning of this year, just having

2:25:13

that one match and how he's

2:25:15

excited to see how things kind of

2:25:17

develop here moving forward. I

2:25:20

also met Great Muda, but language

2:25:22

barrier, so there's no conversation to

2:25:24

be had there. But

2:25:26

yeah, it was cool to meet him,

2:25:28

but no, I don't get into

2:25:30

any of that stuff with them because

2:25:32

they're hearing from multiple people throughout

2:25:34

the day and stuff. But

2:25:36

yeah, I just really wanna say to

2:25:38

that, like, good at Toni Storm that

2:25:40

she just gives a good experience to

2:25:43

people. I think that says a lot

2:25:45

because you do get the variety of

2:25:47

wrestlers who, like I said, it's depending

2:25:49

on their mood, depending on how their

2:25:51

travel day went, it's depending on who

2:25:53

they are. It

2:25:55

can just be something as simple as they

2:25:57

don't even look at you, they sign the

2:25:59

thing and here it is and they kind

2:26:01

of shuffle you on your way. And

2:26:03

when the wrestlers who take the

2:26:05

time to do that, and that's

2:26:07

really how people like the young

2:26:09

bucks, Cody Rhodes. built their brand

2:26:11

in 2017 and in 2018, when

2:26:14

they did that first star cast event,

2:26:16

which they'll be bringing back with Conrad

2:26:18

Thompson for All In Weekend, was

2:26:20

they had these huge lines to meet

2:26:22

these wrestlers, but people like the Bucks

2:26:24

and Cody really take the time to

2:26:26

talk to people and get to know

2:26:29

them and give them that experience. And

2:26:31

I mean, that was. A huge part

2:26:33

of Cody building his brand with the

2:26:35

fans and getting people to get behind

2:26:37

them. And for the young bucks, of

2:26:39

course, as well. So all

2:26:41

of those things really do

2:26:43

matter. And it's cool when wrestlers

2:26:46

do recognize how important that

2:26:48

is versus just go through the

2:26:50

people and move on. Yeah.

2:33:35

As far as WrestleMania as an as

2:33:37

an event, you know, I mean, it's

2:33:40

the huge spectacle Legion Stadium is not

2:33:42

my favorite stadium by any means. I've

2:33:44

been there actually quite a few times

2:33:46

for Vikings Raiders games. I went there

2:33:48

for another Raiders game when I was

2:33:50

in town there. Very expensive every event

2:33:52

that happens there. It's not the easiest

2:33:54

to navigate a lot of. congestion when

2:33:57

you get inside the arena or inside

2:33:59

the stadium. But it just

2:34:01

kind of was a reminder that

2:34:03

the intimacy of the AEW events, and

2:34:05

I think that's always kind of

2:34:07

the main thing that gets brought up

2:34:09

is that for WWE shows, it

2:34:11

feels that there is a lack of

2:34:13

care for the crowd and the

2:34:15

audience that's there, that there's not a

2:34:17

lot of interaction with them between

2:34:19

the ring announcers. from

2:34:22

the wrestlers themselves, that

2:34:24

it is just more kind of the backdrop

2:34:26

for a show that they are filming. And

2:34:30

the lighting and kind of blocking

2:34:32

of the staging always seems to be

2:34:34

a problem at these big stadium

2:34:36

shows for WWE. And AEW

2:34:38

always just seems to have a little

2:34:40

bit more care when it comes to those

2:34:42

things. So I'm curious to see how

2:34:44

things play out for the all

2:34:46

-in show because I do like stadium

2:34:48

shows. I like things that are about

2:34:50

the spectacle, the grandiose -ness of it,

2:34:53

that I can enjoy wrestling from anything

2:34:55

from the small community center to, you

2:34:57

know, I've seen a lot of shows

2:34:59

at First Avenue, kind of that nightclub

2:35:01

feel to the arena, to the big

2:35:03

stadium. So I hope

2:35:05

that AEW really does put a

2:35:07

lot more care and thought into

2:35:10

that. versus WWE just trying to

2:35:12

get the look and the feel,

2:35:14

especially with those lights that can

2:35:16

be really a problem. Like for

2:35:18

my wife who's easily triggered by

2:35:20

lights for migraines and stuff that

2:35:22

you gotta wear hats, sunglasses, cuz

2:35:24

otherwise that stuff is just totally

2:35:26

blinding. But I mean, fun

2:35:28

show other than the finish of the

2:35:30

main event with the John Cena stuff

2:35:32

that. makes absolutely no sense that we

2:35:34

could go on for another hour about,

2:35:36

but I know that you're not following

2:35:39

WWE as much. It's just, yeah,

2:35:41

the lack of rock. Everybody was

2:35:43

waiting there, waiting for the rock to

2:35:45

come out and he didn't come

2:35:47

out and people left that stadium. Very,

2:35:50

very disappointed at the end

2:35:52

of that show, watching John

2:35:54

Cena win the title in

2:35:56

just a - crap of

2:35:59

a finish with Travis Scott

2:36:01

and no rock at all

2:36:03

that. People that spent multiple

2:36:05

hundreds of dollars, if not

2:36:07

thousands of dollars to go

2:36:09

to this event to be

2:36:12

so sorely. disappointed

2:36:14

that, well, we'll see what effect,

2:36:16

if any, that has on their

2:36:18

business. I mean, they're

2:36:20

super hot right now. They're breaking gates. I mean,

2:36:22

they had the record largest gate ever for

2:36:24

this WrestleMania, for the company.

2:36:26

I think they did like

2:36:28

$21 million for both days in

2:36:30

gate, which is just phenomenal. I

2:36:33

think that beats UFC. I mean, that

2:36:35

beats for anything in wrestling, I believe.

2:36:39

So they're huge, but I don't know.

2:36:41

I mean, how many times can

2:36:43

you allow people to leave the arena

2:36:45

just feeling like, man, I spent

2:36:47

all this money and feel not so

2:36:49

great leaving that show? Yeah,

2:36:51

mean, I did not watch all

2:36:53

of the two nights. I saw the

2:36:55

main event. I saw a couple

2:36:58

other things. Just continue to notice, you

2:37:00

know, for my purpose is just

2:37:02

that, you know, so much filler that

2:37:04

seemed that like there was, you

2:37:06

know, these these entrances take forever and

2:37:08

now you know it's like you

2:37:11

could just sit there and fast forward

2:37:13

and get to get to all

2:37:15

the commercials you know there's like a

2:37:17

commercial every two seconds uh whether

2:37:19

you know whether an actual commercial or

2:37:21

them you know going to some

2:37:23

mascot around the ring or something oh

2:37:26

god yeah the dude wife mascot

2:37:28

did you see that did you see

2:37:30

this dude wife mascot i saw

2:37:32

a still picture uh you know a

2:37:34

lot of the that stuff and

2:37:36

Yeah, I mean, it's, you know, it

2:37:38

elicited. If they're making money

2:37:41

and people are paying tons of money

2:37:43

to go, then all the power too.

2:37:45

And that's the way they want to

2:37:47

run their business. That's awesome. And it's

2:37:49

for them, it's working. I

2:37:51

can't get over some of their, you know,

2:37:53

the way they are, so it makes

2:37:55

it difficult for me. The funny thing for

2:37:57

me, when I was watching part of

2:37:59

it at work with a friend of mine

2:38:01

who I'm going to dynamite with, who,

2:38:03

you know, does follow. WWE

2:38:06

and I just made in the

2:38:08

main event when Travis Scott, they just

2:38:10

decided to stop a championship match

2:38:12

for five minutes while he - God,

2:38:14

so bad. And I was like, why

2:38:16

is he? And it was just

2:38:18

like, okay, all right, again, not for

2:38:20

me, it's for you, awesome, but

2:38:22

it's just not you personally, just anyone

2:38:25

in general, awesome, but you know.

2:38:27

I don't think it was for anybody.

2:38:29

Just to be clear, Greg, I

2:38:31

did not see anybody or hear from

2:38:34

anybody who enjoyed that whole Travis Scott

2:38:36

spot. I think that was a giant

2:38:38

letdown for the audience that people thought

2:38:40

it was taking so long because they

2:38:42

thought he was gonna stop at one

2:38:44

point and then Rock was gonna come

2:38:46

out. And when that didn't

2:38:48

happen, I mean, man, people

2:38:50

were really. really upset and felt

2:38:52

very, let bait and

2:38:54

switch with this whole

2:38:56

rock, Cena heel turn thing.

2:38:59

And curious to see, because

2:39:01

we saw it happen in

2:39:03

AW to a point when

2:39:05

you're having some internal issues

2:39:07

with wrestlers or people on

2:39:09

the board or whether Triple

2:39:12

H and Rock or whoever

2:39:14

it is, that

2:39:16

long term it can

2:39:18

cause a major issue

2:39:20

and then affect your business. And so

2:39:22

I'm curious to see if it does affect

2:39:24

their business or if they're just bulletproof

2:39:26

at this point, we'll find

2:39:28

out. Yeah, you'll find

2:39:30

out. Well, we'll find out

2:39:32

as we follow wrestling

2:39:34

here to see how. how

2:39:37

things shake out, but I think that

2:39:39

this will be a significant, there

2:39:41

was a lot of good stuff

2:39:43

on the shows. It wasn't a

2:39:45

total dud of a WrestleMania, that's

2:39:47

not a fair characterization. The

2:39:49

main event of night one, awesome, awesome, one

2:39:51

of the best. Yeah. That

2:39:53

was tremendous stuff, but just

2:39:56

leaving that show after people spent

2:39:58

so much money to be

2:40:00

a part of this weekend. I

2:40:03

think it could be a significant

2:40:05

thing if things start to go down

2:40:07

in WWE's business, that could be

2:40:09

something that people would point back to.

2:40:13

Overall, I think the last thing I

2:40:15

just wanted to touch on because

2:40:17

trying to relate things back to AEW

2:40:19

a little bit is Penta and

2:40:21

his first WrestleMania coming out there. AEW

2:40:26

missed the boat on this guy. I

2:40:28

mean, he had some great matches and the

2:40:30

tag stuff, doing that for a while.

2:40:32

But you've heard me, Greg, to advocate that

2:40:34

this guy needs to be a single

2:40:36

star in AEW. And WWE is capitalizing on

2:40:38

that right now, especially with that relationship

2:40:40

or purchase of AAA and trying to get

2:40:42

more into Mexico. Yeah.

2:40:46

they totally missed it on this guy,

2:40:48

that they had a single star, that

2:40:51

he is so charismatic, the

2:40:53

entrance, people love this guy. And

2:40:55

they missed it, they didn't

2:40:57

take it. What did it have

2:40:59

worked? What did it have in

2:41:01

the same way? Okay, I'm

2:41:03

just curious because the way he

2:41:06

is, he is very

2:41:08

over the top demonstrative,

2:41:10

which is that's WWE. Whereas

2:41:12

sometimes the - AW fandom,

2:41:15

you know, it's not as wild

2:41:17

about that kind of just

2:41:19

complete over the top silliness almost.

2:41:21

I mean, I assume he

2:41:23

still does the deal with the

2:41:25

glove and everything, or does

2:41:27

he not? Yeah, he still does.

2:41:29

It's basically the same presentation

2:41:31

of Pentum. I mean, but

2:41:33

people go wild for it. And

2:41:35

in contrast, they had Ray Phoenix

2:41:37

who also was just inserted into

2:41:40

a match here because Ray Mysterio

2:41:42

got injured on the SmackDown the

2:41:44

night before. And so unfortunately,

2:41:46

he had to be pulled from

2:41:48

his match against Chad Gable. Chad

2:41:50

Gable's wearing a mask, doing a.

2:41:52

doing a mocking lucha gimmick. And

2:41:54

so, man, I thought that Ray

2:41:56

Phoenix was gonna have this phenomenal

2:41:58

match coming into WrestleMania, him against

2:42:00

Chad Gable. And that

2:42:02

match ended up just being a dud,

2:42:04

by the way, that they booked it.

2:42:06

I think they should have. This is

2:42:09

where WWE needs to be better about

2:42:11

just calling an audible, given the circumstances

2:42:13

that you could have had Rey Phoenix

2:42:15

get this big win there to really

2:42:17

establish that AAA relationship and establish Rey

2:42:19

Phoenix and said they had him lose

2:42:21

and I think probably the same way

2:42:23

that they would have booked the match

2:42:26

had it been with Rey Mysterio. Yeah.

2:42:32

Anything else regarding that type of stuff?

2:42:35

I think that kind of covers the

2:42:37

main points. I think so. OK,

2:42:40

so. We do have some emails

2:42:42

in the mail bag, but what

2:42:44

I think I'm gonna do is

2:42:46

I'm just gonna touch on Zach's

2:42:48

most recent email, which was sent

2:42:50

on April 18th. I know Dustin's

2:42:53

got another one, Zach had one

2:42:55

before, but some of the information

2:42:57

in those have become, you

2:42:59

know, we're past those, unfortunately. I

2:43:01

appreciate them sending the emails, but,

2:43:03

you know, some of the context

2:43:05

in there is not as relevant,

2:43:07

but I think that some We

2:43:10

apologize for, yeah, for missing the

2:43:12

couple of weeks. it was just

2:43:14

things that we just could not

2:43:16

make it work. But I've always

2:43:18

appreciated people chiming in and participating.

2:45:26

everybody, so when you get asked,

2:45:28

what is Odu, what comes to mind?

2:45:31

Well, I'll tell you, Odu is a

2:45:33

bit of everything. Odu is a suite

2:45:35

of business management software that some people

2:45:37

say is like fertilizer because the

2:45:39

way it promotes growth. But you know,

2:45:41

some people also say that Odu is

2:45:43

like a magic beanstalk because it grows

2:45:45

with your company and is also

2:45:47

magically affordable. But then again,

2:45:49

you could look at Odu in

2:45:51

terms of how its individual software

2:45:54

programs are a lot like building

2:45:56

blocks. Whatever your business needs, manufacturing,

2:45:58

accounting, HR programs, you can build

2:46:00

a custom software suite that's perfect

2:46:02

for your company. So what is

2:46:04

Odu? Well, Odu is a bit

2:46:06

of everything. Odu is a fertilizer,

2:46:08

magic beanstalk, building blocks for business.

2:46:10

Yeah, that's it. Which means that

Odu is exactly what every business

2:47:15

think we stick pretty much to wrestling.

2:47:17

No, I mean beyond wrestling out

2:47:40

I'm gonna read through this one from

2:47:42

Zach from April 18th, and then we'll just

2:47:44

kinda get to his trivia part here to

2:47:46

close out. Zach says,

2:47:48

fellas, let's get the negative out of the

2:47:50

way first. I really hope the Mariah

2:47:53

May situation turns out to be a false

2:47:55

alarm. If it's not, she's nothing

2:47:57

more than a user, and I'll think

2:47:59

so much less of her. Enough of that

2:48:01

negativity. AEW had a

2:48:03

great week. They announced that they're finally

2:48:05

going to arena Mexico, which I'm

2:48:07

so excited for. It's gonna be such

2:48:09

a cool look and vibe. Dynamite

2:48:11

surpassing Nitro is a nifty milestone. The

2:48:13

actual spring breakthrough was fantastic. Mercedes

2:48:16

and Athena was great as

2:48:18

expected. Josh Alexander's debut was solid.

2:48:20

Osprey and Takeshita though, that

2:48:22

match was incredible. A legit

2:48:24

match of the year contender on Free

2:48:26

TV. It seems almost certain that

2:48:29

Osprey's winning the whole tournament and

2:48:31

dethroning Mox that all in. Speaking

2:48:33

of Mox, the cherry on top of

2:48:35

Wednesday's show was the Death Writers finally

2:48:37

taking a significant loss and dropping the

2:48:39

trio titles. It was a real

2:48:41

feel good moment to close out the

2:48:43

show. Okay, time for

2:48:45

some trivia. It's a

2:48:47

new game I call - First of all, before

2:48:49

we get to the trivia, just off of what

2:48:52

Zach was saying, I would be,

2:48:54

I gave my thoughts of Ryan. a

2:48:57

while ago, if there's

2:48:59

something that I missed or a

2:49:01

reason why Zach feels that

2:49:03

she is a user, as he

2:49:05

put it, I would be

2:49:07

curious to follow up, let me

2:49:10

know, because it wasn't like

2:49:12

WWE was knocking down her door

2:49:14

before and she just said,

2:49:16

or whatever it is. Again,

2:49:18

I said what I said, but

2:49:20

I'm curious if there's any other news

2:49:22

or something where she did something

2:49:24

wrong here. I haven't seen

2:49:27

anything where I think she did something wrong.

2:49:29

And then I agree with everything Zach was

2:49:31

saying about that episode of Dynamite last week,

2:49:33

which was stellar. Yep. He

2:49:36

says, okay, time for trivia. It's a

2:49:38

new game I call between the reins.

2:49:41

I'm going to give you two wrestlers

2:49:43

who each had a particular title and

2:49:45

you got to tell me what wrestler

2:49:47

was championed between them. For

2:49:49

example, if I said Bret

2:49:51

Hart, Hulk Hogan, WWF Champion

2:49:53

93, the answer would be

2:49:55

Yokozuna. You get it? Got

2:49:57

it? Good luck. You get

2:49:59

it? I wish that was the first question, I would have gotten

2:50:01

that one right. Okay, let's

2:50:04

see here. So,

2:50:08

number one, he has

2:50:11

listed SCU, Gap,

2:50:14

FTR, the

2:50:16

AEW tag titles. It's

2:50:19

2020. 2020.

2:50:24

Was that Omega and

2:50:26

Hangman yet? Because I

2:50:28

know they were tech

2:50:30

cheats. Yeah.

2:50:39

Probably. As soon as the first was

2:50:41

the first. Or it might

2:50:43

be the Bucks. I mean, that's

2:50:45

the one that seems obvious, but

2:50:47

I'm OK. I'm trying

2:50:49

to go through that a little

2:50:52

bit right now. And I

2:50:54

know that, okay, so

2:50:56

in 2020, SCU, I

2:50:58

wanna say it probably

2:51:00

was Hangman and Omega.

2:51:03

Because you think back on that

2:51:05

Revolution pay -per -view where they

2:51:07

wrestled the young bucks, and I

2:51:09

know that they held on

2:51:11

to those titles for quite a

2:51:14

long time. And I wanna

2:51:16

say that they lost those belts

2:51:18

at all out of 2020. So

2:51:23

I'm okay locking in that

2:51:25

answer. Okay. I'm

2:51:29

scrolling down. Yes, it is. Kenny Omega

2:51:31

and Hangman Page. Nice job, Greg. Boom.

2:51:35

All right. Number two, Shawn

2:51:37

Michaels. Gap. Razor

2:51:40

Ramon. I see title, 1995.

2:51:49

Yeah, I don't know. I

2:51:51

don't know. Kind of

2:51:54

like a Vader or something.

2:51:56

I don't know. Okay.

2:52:00

You want to lock in Vader? Because I really

2:52:02

don't know. Yeah, I know it's wrong. Because

2:52:05

no, Vader wasn't

2:52:07

there in 95, was he?

2:52:10

He came back 96,

2:52:13

97, right? See, again, this

2:52:16

was my dark period, so most

2:52:18

of it. Okay, I

2:52:20

see title Shawn Michaels

2:52:22

playing. Okay, I'm gonna

2:52:24

go with Mr. Perfect

2:52:26

No, that be it

2:52:29

done. He might have

2:52:31

done. Yeah. Yeah. No,

2:52:33

that can't be miss

2:52:35

perfect with the helmet

2:52:37

I see title 1995

2:52:40

No, it's not

2:52:42

Bret Hart it's

2:52:44

a Bulldog, I don't

2:52:46

know Well,

2:52:53

we'll just go with any of those names that were said. Any

2:52:56

of them that were thrown out there. Okay,

2:52:58

we would never have gotten this.

2:53:00

It was Dean Douglas, Michael's

2:53:02

fourth title to Douglas, who immediately

2:53:04

lost it to him. He

2:53:06

had no chance. No

2:53:09

chance on that one. Okay,

2:53:11

number three, Randy Savage, blank,

2:53:14

the giant, WCW title,

2:53:17

96. DDP

2:53:29

Yeah, yeah, actually that was

2:53:31

the name that came to

2:53:34

mind for me the most

2:53:36

DDP I don't know if

2:53:38

they gave him the title

2:53:40

that early though. That's that

2:53:42

was the thing Um, I

2:53:44

don't know was flair holding

2:53:46

the title at that point

2:53:49

Okay, you want me to

2:53:51

just look yeah, let's just

2:53:53

look number three Rick flair.

2:53:55

Ah, good job. Okay. Yeah Ric

2:53:58

Flair, okay. Number

2:54:00

four, CM Punk, blank,

2:54:03

Chris Jericho, world

2:54:06

heavyweight title in 2009. That's

2:54:11

a tough one to

2:54:13

think on, because I'm trying

2:54:15

to think of that

2:54:18

time period, because would that

2:54:20

have been where CM Punk, I

2:54:22

think he won it from Jeff

2:54:24

Hardy, perhaps before that. So

2:54:27

then somebody in between to

2:54:29

get to Chris Jericho. John

2:54:33

Cena, maybe? No.

2:54:39

No, because the Cedar and Punk stuff

2:54:41

didn't have until, what, 11? Yeah.

2:54:43

Yeah. So I

2:54:45

don't think so. I mean, honestly,

2:54:48

it could have been Jeff Hardy. Yeah.

2:54:50

OK. Yeah, go for it. I mean,

2:54:52

yeah. So let's go

2:54:55

up the Undertaker. Yeah,

2:54:58

Ticker defeated Punk in Hell in a Cell and

2:55:00

then lost in the Elimination Chamber. Number

2:55:04

five title changes back then.

2:55:06

It's like it's so hard. Yeah,

2:55:09

it's it is tough when

2:55:11

it kind of moves around a

2:55:13

lot. You know, I think

2:55:15

for more the AEW stuff because

2:55:17

of just the more recency

2:55:19

of it. I mean, with the

2:55:21

exception of the TNT title.

2:55:23

I'd probably be able to get

2:55:26

probably most things there. The

2:55:28

women's title would be a little

2:55:31

bit more challenging and the TNT title

2:55:33

would be impossible given how they've

2:55:35

had like 20 TNT champions, something

2:55:37

like that, it's crazy. But

2:55:40

anyways, number five, damage

2:55:43

control, Blank, Liv

2:55:45

Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, the

2:55:48

WWE, women's tag titles 2023.

2:55:52

and I'll watch it. So I

2:55:54

could not even tell you. It

2:55:58

might be Chelsea Green

2:56:00

and Dewdrop at the

2:56:02

time, Piper Nimmin. I'm

2:56:05

not sure, but it could be. The

2:56:08

best I got. Go for it.

2:56:11

I trust you. Nope,

2:56:13

not even close. Becky Lynch

2:56:15

and Lita. Becky

2:56:18

and Lita won with the help

2:56:20

of Tris. Trish Stratus, evening the odds

2:56:22

and loss because Trish betrayed them. Okay.

2:56:26

Okay. Yep. Well,

2:56:31

we did, eh, disagree,

2:56:33

but I got the first one, so I'll

2:56:35

stick with that. Yeah. That'll keep

2:56:37

me going through the next week. Thank

2:56:39

you, Zach, as always. Yeah,

2:56:41

thanks, Zach. Appreciate that. Appreciate the

2:56:44

emails that we've gotten from Zach

2:56:46

and Dustin here. You

2:56:48

can send us an

2:56:50

on with you, Greg. I'm just

2:57:17

quickly looking at my schedule. I

2:57:19

2:57:21

disruption as far as kind of

2:57:23

our typical time slot. We typically

2:57:25

record on Friday mornings and looking

2:57:27

forward. As of right now, I'm

2:57:30

not seeing any sort of conflicts

2:57:32

for the next few months, so.

2:57:34

Me neither, so it's awesome. Awesome.
