Our Quick Daily Devotion this morning comes from Isaiah 53:1-3
Summary: Isaiah prophesied that Jesus would enter the world in a humble lowly fashion and not at all as the world would expect to receive the King of kings and Lord of lords.
1 Who has believed our report?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant,
And as a root out of dry ground.
He has no form or comeliness;
And when we see Him,
There is no beauty that we should desire Him.
3 He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
Questions & Challenge:
1. Are you ready receive Jesus for who He is and not what you want Him to be or do?
2. Is it possible that you and I are focused too much on the outward rather the inward?
3. Is it possible that we too often miss out on what God is up to or wants to do in us and even through others because of our preconceived expectations or or the lens through which we view ourselves and others?
