It seems the situation in which one views a film can truly skew the reception drastically. While one of the Brandons was on a 15-hour flight (regular plane, not a bullet plane) and was quite happy with this quirky action comedy, the other Brandon was in his living room, probably naked and eating jello, and felt it lacked substance.
