"The Lamb, the New Song, the Harvest"

In this episode, we cover Revelation 13:11-14:20, which you can read here.
During the episode, I refer to “the interlinear tool.” This refers to presenting the original texts—Hebrew in the Old Testament, Greek in the New Testament—with its literal English translation beneath each word. There are interlinear editions of the Bible published in book form and several appear online. The online versions are free to access and include information on word backgrounds, possible alternative renderings, tenses, voices, and so on. Here is an interlinear tool for Revelation 13 and here is the tool for Revelation 14.
The two commentaries I’m using the most for this series are:
Revelation (Concordia Commentary) by Louis A. Brighton
Triumph of the Lamb: A Commentary on Revelation by Dennis E. Johnson
I mention Dietrich Bonhoeffer in this episode. A good short biography is Till the Night Be Past: The Life and Times of Dietrich Bonhoeffer by Theodore J. Kleinhaus.

Please like this podcast and subscribe to my Substack account where it appears. Subscriptions are free. But if you choose the paying subscription option, it will help me buy books and equipment that will, eventually, enable me to upgrade the audio and video quality. If you would let others know about the podcast, I would appreciate it.
Most important of all, please pray that God will guide me in preparing for and doing these podcasts and that more people will find it so that God can use it to give people faith in Christ and strengthen the faith of those who already believe.
These podcasts originate as online Bible studies. That’s why you sometimes hear me asking people to scroll through the comments to look at documents or interact with people viewing live.
Thank for listening or watching.
PS: For those who don’t know, I am a retired pastor of the North American Lutheran Church. I’m also honored to serve as dean of the Southwest Ohio Mission District of the NALC. (The latter, for those who may wonder, is a volunteer position and I’m happy to do it.)
