Amazon announces its second ever

0:02

big spring sale. Tiktok shop

0:04

is opening in a new

0:06

country this week. Amazon is

0:08

actually sending traffic off the

0:10

platform. These stories and more on

0:12

this week's weekly buzz. How cool

0:14

is that? Pretty cool, I think. Hello

0:19

everybody and welcome to another episode of the

0:21

series hellers podcast by Helium Ten. I'm your

0:23

host Bradley Sutton and this is the show

0:25

that is our Helium Ten weekly buzz. We

0:27

give you a rundown of all the goings

0:30

on and the e-commerce, the Amazon, the Tiktok

0:32

Shop world. We give you training tips of

0:34

the week and let you know what new

0:36

features that Helium Ten has that will give

0:38

you serious strategies. for serious sellers of any

0:40

level in the e-commerce world. Let's see what's

0:42

button. All right guys, if you're watching this on

0:44

YouTube, you can see I'm like moving a

0:46

lot in this video. That's because I'm doing

0:49

the first ever weekly buzz. While I'm walking

0:51

in a treadmill, this is just part

0:53

of my reminder to everybody as entrepreneurs,

0:55

especially those of us who work from

0:57

home. Make sure to keep active guys. All right,

0:59

so I'm trying to set the example here

1:01

and I'm walking on my treadmill, my standing

1:04

desk. as I'm giving the news. Those of

1:06

you listening just on the audio by sounds

1:08

a little outer breath. Well, it's probably because

1:10

I'm out of shape. Well, let's go ahead

1:12

and hop right into the news. Now,

1:15

the first article this week is just

1:17

an announcement from Amazon, and this is

1:19

entitled, Submit Your Deals and Prime Exclusive

1:21

Discounts for the Big Spring Sale. Now,

1:23

at first, I thought, well, that's something

1:25

new, right? Then I looked up old

1:27

weekly buzz. there was a big spring

1:29

sale last year around March as well

1:31

and you know it increased sales just

1:33

a little bit nothing that major but

1:36

it was a you know kind of

1:38

successful enough for Amazon to say hey

1:40

let's go ahead and bring it back

1:42

so as you can see here this

1:44

is going to go from March 25

1:46

until March 31st. Now as part of

1:48

this deal you're going to be

1:50

able to do regular deals or

1:52

prime exclusive discounts. You have from

1:54

now until March 17 to submit

1:56

the deal, so you're going to

1:58

go to advertising. Remember there's like

2:01

you're not going to do stuff on

2:03

the old prime exclusive discount page. You

2:05

have to do everything from the the

2:07

deal page. Now for prime exclusive discounts

2:09

you have up until the actual time

2:12

of the event, even to the very

2:14

last day of the event on the

2:16

31st to submit those. But remember if

2:18

you want to do deals you have

2:20

only until the middle of March in

2:23

order to submit that. So do you

2:25

guys remember your sales last year during

2:27

this time? Did you run any deals?

2:29

how you did last year around this

2:31

time and maybe, you know, see what

2:33

kind of deals you had done and

2:36

adjust accordingly because there probably will be

2:38

more traffic on the website because usually

2:40

when Amazon has a special deals they'll

2:42

they'll promote it to their to their

2:44

buyers a lot more. All right, the

2:46

next article up is from social media

2:49

today.com. It is entitled ticked talk expands

2:51

in stream shopping push to Latin America.

2:53

Now this is probably not brand new

2:55

news because we had announced a couple

2:57

months ago that TikTok Shop in Mexico

3:00

was opening up for people to start

3:02

making listings and opening up their stores

3:04

and applying. But now what the announcement

3:06

is this week is it is now

3:08

going to go ahead and start this

3:10

week. All right, so hopefully those of

3:13

you who listen to the Weekly Buzz,

3:15

if you're based in Mexico, you took

3:17

action and got started on the platform

3:19

a couple months ago. Well, get ready,

3:21

guys. Your listings are about to go

3:23

live on TikTok, Mexico as of this

3:26

week. Now, this article goes on to

3:28

say that, hey, there's actually going to

3:30

be a restriction of some sales on

3:32

TikTok, Mexico, such as jewelry, health care,

3:34

maternity, and baby products. So as long

3:37

as you're not selling in any of

3:39

those kind of categories, you are good

3:41

to go for TikTok. Now, another article

3:43

that came out this week from Amazon,

3:45

it was something that I think caused

3:47

a lot of LinkedIn post, like all

3:50

of a sudden my LinkedIn feed last

3:52

couple of days have been filled with

3:54

stories about this next article. So basically

3:56

this article paints a scenario where you

3:58

could be searching like my favorite brands

4:00

for X, my favorite brands for shoes,

4:03

my favorite brands for Y, whatever the

4:05

case is. And then Amazon will show

4:07

you like, you know, the regular search

4:09

results like normal. But what's going to

4:11

start happening is that Amazon is going

4:14

to show products that aren't even available

4:16

on Amazon. Like I'm not, it didn't

4:18

show this brand, but let me just

4:20

throw an example. Let's say the latest

4:22

Nike Jordi Jordens or something. are not

4:24

available on Amazon, but maybe you search

4:27

for an Amazon and I guess if

4:29

maybe Nike has some kind of deal

4:31

with Amazon, I'm assuming kind of like

4:33

a, you know, some kind of paper

4:35

click model or something to that effect,

4:37

well, you can actually be redirected from

4:40

Amazon to the Nike website store page

4:42

where those products you just search for.

4:44

are available. It will show in the

4:46

search results in Amazon and then there

4:48

will be a button that you click

4:51

and it says click here to go

4:53

off of Amazon. If you look here

4:55

in the article that we link to

4:57

in the bottom you could see like

4:59

some kind of like mock-ups in the

5:01

app about how it's going to look.

5:04

You like literally You know, just enter

5:06

in a keyword and then there'll be

5:08

this like little widget that says shop

5:10

brands directly that comes up and then

5:12

if you click it, they'll say you're

5:14

leaving Amazon, go to this website. All

5:17

right. So it says when you tap

5:19

on see more, it's going to direct

5:21

customers to more results from that brand

5:23

and when a customer clicks on the

5:25

product that is sold in a brand

5:28

store off Amazon, they will receive a

5:30

notification they are leaving Amazon. and will

5:32

be redirected to the brand's website. This

5:34

is just, you know, kind of like

5:36

something that I think maybe a lot

5:38

of us might have said, oh, I

5:41

don't think I can never see Amazon

5:43

doing something like this. You know how

5:45

it's even against the Amazon terms of

5:47

service in your own listing, in your

5:49

product, you know, packaging and search to

5:51

direct any traffic off of Amazon. That's

5:54

kind of like what they don't want,

5:56

any sellers. redirecting, but hey, I guess

5:58

this is something that Amazon is experimenting

6:00

with where, you know, maybe, you know,

6:02

companies and brands out there can, you

6:04

know, pay for advertising to show up

6:07

in Amazon search results without even having

6:09

their product in Amazon. So is this

6:11

going to catch on? Is this something

6:13

that's going to be widespread? I'm not

6:15

sure. Right now it's only in beta

6:18

and not in desktop. So only a

6:20

certain number of Amazon buyers are able

6:22

to see this. and it's only in

6:24

the Android or Apple iPhone app that

6:26

they can see it. All right, last

6:28

article of the day, there's actually not

6:31

that much news and guys don't get

6:33

it twisted. It's not just because I'm

6:35

out of shape and I'm trying to

6:37

end the news early because I'm on

6:39

this treadmill until I can finish the

6:41

news, but there actually wasn't that much

6:44

news today. But this last one is

6:46

from Seller Central. It says. automatic minimum

6:48

thresholds for order handling capacity. Now this

6:50

is for those of you who are

6:52

shipping items FBM or fulfilled by merchant.

6:55

So now if you click into this

6:57

link that's in Amazon Seller Central, you'll

6:59

see something called order handling capacity and

7:01

then you put like a number there

7:03

like let's say 50. Well what does

7:05

that mean if you if you put

7:08

50 into this order handling capacity? So

7:10

that means if you have a shop

7:12

with multiple items, that are FBM and

7:14

you put 50 there that means you're

7:16

only going to be able to take

7:18

up to 50 orders a day and

7:21

then what happens is let's say you

7:23

hit 50 for that day Amazon is

7:25

going to say all right well now

7:27

it's going to add another day of

7:29

handling time so I guess this kind

7:32

of like you know helps guard against

7:34

Somebody who has products go viral or

7:36

something and that they don't have the

7:38

capacity to ship all the orders in

7:40

the same day I don't think this

7:42

is a big game changer like most

7:45

of us are like hey if we

7:47

get a whole bunch of orders we're

7:49

gonna do whatever it takes to fulfill

7:51

those orders right but you know maybe

7:53

there's some people out there who. who

7:55

sometimes get overwhelmed with the orders or

7:58

maybe they're short staffed, well now you're

8:00

going to be able to put this

8:02

order handling capacity limit in there to

8:04

make sure that you are not having

8:06

to fulfill more orders than you can

8:09

handle in a 24-hour period of time.

8:11

Because remember, if you go over that

8:13

time or if you go over the

8:15

one day handling time, normally, like let's

8:17

say you get 100 orders in. They

8:19

all have to ship a certain day.

8:22

If you only ship, you know, like

8:24

85 of them, that means you've got

8:26

15 orders that are past the late

8:28

in the late shipping kind of cutoff

8:30

and your account's going to get some

8:32

metrics. Now me, I'm not going to

8:35

use this all. I'm going to take

8:37

as many orders I can get with

8:39

my FBM, but maybe some of you

8:41

this might actually help. All right, last

8:43

up, just as a reminder, if you

8:46

ever want like, you know, more bite

8:48

size clips of the. our Instagram, the

8:50

serious sellers podcast Instagram. This serious sellers

8:52

podcast Instagram has clips from every single

8:54

episode we do, like usually 60, sometimes

8:56

90 seconds, including the weekly buzz. And

8:59

also you can just watch the stories.

9:01

I kind of like chronicle, you know,

9:03

my travels around, you know, meeting sellers

9:05

and events and daily things that are

9:07

happening. Like I just got, you know,

9:09

goats and dogs this week, if that

9:12

interests you, but you can get all

9:14

of this. from the Helium 10 Instagram

9:16

at Serious Cellars podcast. So make sure

9:18

to go ahead and give me a

9:20

follow and repost some of the reals

9:23

and stories and stuff that you find

9:25

interesting. You think that other sellers might

9:27

find interesting as well. All right, now

9:29

it's time for the Helium 10 new

9:31

feature alert. And this is actually pretty

9:33

exciting. For now, this is only going

9:36

to be for Helium 10 elite members.

9:38

always get first crack at everything as

9:40

part of the healing ten elite program

9:42

you know they get training from Kevin

9:44

King get one-on-one calls with me and

9:46

you get first access to the tools

9:49

like what I'm about to show you

9:51

guys right now. If you guys want

9:53

more information on Helium Ten elite just

9:55

go to h10.me/elites only $99 a month.

9:57

But anyways if you are an elite

9:59

member you now have access to our

10:02

new listing converter for TikTok tool. All

10:04

right super super cool. How can you

10:06

guys use it? All right so if

10:08

you have an Amazon account and you're

10:10

an elite member and the rest of

10:13

you guys like this will go out

10:15

to dime to dime members you know

10:17

maybe sometime in a few in a

10:19

few weeks in a few weeks in

10:21

a few weeks. You're going to want

10:23

to click your name on the top

10:26

right and then hit connections and then

10:28

add a new seller account. And then

10:30

you're going to be able to find

10:32

your tick-talk shop from there. So you

10:34

have got to add your tick-talk shop

10:36

token or kind of connection to Helium10.

10:39

And then if you have your seller

10:41

central account connected to Helium10 and now

10:43

your tick-talk shop connected to Helium10. You're

10:45

going to be able to create listings

10:47

on TikTok Shop with the click of

10:50

a button, guys importing all your images,

10:52

recreating your titles, bringing your bullet points

10:54

and making it in the description, putting

10:56

it in the right category. This is

10:58

really great whether you have one listing

11:00

or you're like, you know what, I've

11:03

got 40 listings. I don't want to

11:05

have to one by one copy them

11:07

to Tik Talk Shop. Now you can

11:09

go ahead and do it. pretty fast.

11:11

So how you do it once you

11:13

have your Tiktok shop connected, you go

11:16

to the listing converter for Tiktok and

11:18

then what you can do is you

11:20

just select one of your products and

11:22

or multiple ones, you know, you can

11:24

do as many as you want and

11:27

then hit bulk convert. After that, you're

11:29

gonna find a window comes up and

11:31

it'll allow you to choose your Tiktok

11:33

shop that you want to migrate to,

11:35

you hit convert and that's pretty much

11:37

it. Helium 10 is going to do

11:40

the rest and create your listings. After

11:42

that, you're going to want to go

11:44

ahead and go to your TikTok shop

11:46

and you'll see right there some of

11:48

the listings might go live immediately. Others

11:50

might go in the draft folder because

11:53

it might like need you to verify

11:55

to make sure you like the title

11:57

or you like the category that we

11:59

chose and you can just edit a

12:01

couple of things once it's in the

12:04

draft format. But yeah, like I was

12:06

able to do this on one of

12:08

my accounts this week. I was able

12:10

to launch like 10 listings on TikTok

12:12

in less than three minutes using this

12:14

brand new tool. All right, so guys,

12:17

if you are Helium Ten Elite members,

12:19

make sure to get started using this

12:21

tour right away, transferring your Amazon listings

12:23

and making them live in your Tiktok

12:25

shop. Obviously, you're ready to have a

12:27

Tiktok shop account live and let us

12:30

know what you think of this tool.

12:32

And are you a diving member who

12:34

wants to get access to this? Stay

12:36

tuned. Once we get all the kinks

12:38

out of this, you'll have access to

12:41

this as well as some other really

12:43

cool stuff that we have planned for

12:45

Tiktok shop. All right, last up is

12:47

our strategy of the week, and this

12:49

here is a strategy of something that

12:51

is very important whenever whether you're trying

12:54

to, you know, launch a new product

12:56

or you're having trouble ranking for certain

12:58

keywords that you think you're relevant for.

13:00

Well, the issue could be that maybe

13:02

you're not relevant to Amazon. And, you

13:04

know, there's a lot of, you know,

13:07

people out there who try and, you

13:09

know, give calculations about all right. this

13:11

many keywords that are, you know, like

13:13

ranking for these similar products, etc. You

13:15

can do those things in Helium 10

13:18

too, but the one thing that only

13:20

Helium 10 can show you is we

13:22

give you a direct link to the

13:24

actual scoring system that Amazon has for

13:26

relevancy. Amazon scores the top 1,000 keywords

13:28

for every product as to how relevant

13:31

it thinks it is, and this is

13:33

a lot of the times a direct

13:35

correlation. with how you start seeing it

13:37

in the search results, how your advertising

13:39

performs, and what happens in SEO when

13:41

you have interactions with your listing. And

13:44

a lot of times, it's the reason.

13:46

why you might not be necessarily ranking

13:48

for something as well as you think

13:50

you should despite getting purchases, etc. Or

13:52

you might not be getting impressions in

13:54

PPC. So for a little bit more

13:57

information on how this works, check out

13:59

this clip. You can only do any

14:01

Helium 10. And this is one that

14:03

four years ago, or five years ago,

14:05

I predicted all, it's like, oh yeah,

14:08

a bunch of other tools are surely

14:10

going to copy us because this is

14:12

just so, so valuable. It's called the

14:14

Amazon recommended rank. is a direct tie-in

14:16

to the Amazon API that tells you

14:18

how relevant it thinks a keyword is

14:21

to a product, right? It ranks keywords

14:23

based on what Amazon thinks is relevant

14:25

to the product and it gives it

14:27

a score and helium-10 takes that score

14:29

and translates into a rank. So the

14:31

number one score a keyword could have

14:34

for a product like, hey, this is

14:36

the most relevant keyword according to Amazon

14:38

algorithm, is like $999. That means we

14:40

give it Amazon recommended rank number one.

14:42

It's the number one rank keyword. If

14:45

it has another score of 996, well

14:47

then that's Amazon recommended rank two and

14:49

so on and so forth. But it

14:51

really helps you understand what does Amazon

14:53

think your product is when you look

14:55

at those like top 20 or 30

14:58

keywords that Amazon recommends? It really lets

15:00

you know, hey is Amazon confused about

15:02

your product? Are you on the right

15:04

track? This is especially critical when you

15:06

have a brand new listing. You guys

15:08

ever had situations where you make a

15:11

brand new listing and you can't get

15:13

impressions in PPC for it? A lot

15:15

of times it's because there's something wrong

15:17

with the relevancy. Amazon doesn't think you're

15:19

relevant for the keyword. Even if you

15:22

did the right things in your listing

15:24

optimization, sometimes Amazon just... kind of glitches

15:26

out and says, oh, we don't know

15:28

what this product is. We think it's

15:30

this, and you obviously know it's not.

15:32

And so that's why you know you

15:35

have something wrong. The way I discovered

15:37

how beneficial this is, I've told this

15:39

story before, is when I started selling

15:41

some socks, on the one socket said,

15:43

if you can read this, the other

15:45

socket said, bring me coffee. The number

15:48

one keywords for this product were coffee

15:50

related keywords, you know, like gifts for

15:52

coffee lovers. But this was socks in

15:54

the clothing category in the clothing category.

15:56

In the clothing category, and the rank

15:59

on this because I couldn't get any

16:01

impressions in PBC for coffee related keywords.

16:03

I could see that all the keywords

16:05

that Amazon thought the product was had nothing to

16:07

do with coffee. It would just like thought it

16:09

was generic socks and so of course I wasn't

16:11

going to get impressions and so I had to

16:13

do some other things to try and make myself

16:15

more relevant to Amazon for it. But if I

16:17

didn't have this Amazon recommended rank, I would have

16:19

been in the dark. I'll be like what's going

16:22

on Amazon, Amazon, right? Well let me show you

16:24

an example of this example of this life. Here is

16:26

one of the Helium Ten coffin shelves,

16:28

a coffin bookshelf for Manny's mysterious oddities,

16:30

and I ran it in cerebral, and

16:32

by the way guys, this is for

16:34

Platinum, Diamond, any level of Helium Ten

16:36

has this. I'm gonna sort it by Amazon

16:38

recommended rank. All right, this is basically gonna

16:40

tell me, hey, what does Amazon think my

16:42

product is? Now, this is not always gonna

16:45

be your top keywords, but. You can really

16:47

get a good picture of this top 20

16:49

keywords if Amazon is confused about your product

16:51

or not. And take a look at the

16:53

number one keyword. Coughin shelf, wall large. We've

16:55

got Coughin shelf, Coughin bookshelf, large. We've got

16:58

Coughin shelf, Coughin bookshelf, Coughin bookshelf. Is there

17:00

any doubt that Amazon knows exactly what my

17:02

product is? No. All my main keywords are

17:04

kind of like right there in the

17:06

top 20, or at the very least

17:08

they really describe my product. They really

17:10

describe my product well. I am optimized

17:12

correctly for those keywords. There's no confusion.

17:14

Now take a look at this other

17:16

product. If I were to look in

17:18

the Amazon search results, I typed in

17:20

coffin shelf right here, and now I'm

17:22

on page, what page am I on

17:24

here? Let's see, I'm on page four.

17:27

of the search results, which is kind of

17:29

crazy, because there's barely any coffin shelves

17:31

in the entire coffin shelf industry. As

17:34

you can see here, most of these

17:36

products aren't even coffin shelves. So, like,

17:38

it's kind of shocking that there would

17:40

be a coffin shelf on page four,

17:43

when even page one, there's irrelevant products.

17:45

So, I ran it in Cerebro. I

17:47

sorted by Amazon recommended rank. Now, do

17:50

you remember what my product was? Had

17:52

all the right keywords. Coffin wall, coffin

17:54

wall shelf, coffin bookshe. for Amazon recommended

17:57

rank. Number one, floating shelf

17:59

wall. Wall shelf, floating shelf, shelves

18:01

room wall, bathroom shelf, kitchen shelves, wall

18:03

mounted, etc, etc, etc. etc. Anything about

18:06

coffin or gothic? No. So coffin shelf

18:08

wasn't even in the ballpark as far

18:10

as what Amazon thinks this product is

18:12

relevant for. Is this product ever going

18:14

to rank high for coffin shelf when

18:17

Amazon doesn't think it's relevant for coffin

18:19

shelf? No, they have to re-optimize their

18:21

listing or figure out. Is there a

18:23

category issue? What's going on with this?

18:26

Is that seller blind? Well, right now

18:28

he is because he's been stuck on

18:30

page four forever and he hasn't done

18:32

anything about it. He obviously doesn't use

18:34

Helium 10. If he used Helium 10,

18:37

he would be able to see instantly

18:39

that he's got a relevancy problem with

18:41

coffin and Gothic related keywords so that

18:43

now he's got to figure out how

18:46

to fix that. But again, Helium 10

18:48

members, Platinum, Diamond, whatever level, you guys

18:50

are not going to be in the

18:52

dark for this. This you can only

18:54

see with Helium for. All right guys,

18:57

that's it for the news this week.

18:59

I made it through this whole thing

19:01

I just walked only a half mile

19:03

I'm gonna have to keep going right

19:06

after this don't forget point of me

19:08

doing this for dramatic effect and also

19:10

to remind you guys as entrepreneurs Make

19:12

sure to try and stay healthy. So

19:14

with that I hope you guys have

19:16

a great weekend and we'll see you

19:19

next week to see what's buzzing
