Laurie Berkner is a musician known for her children's music. She plays guitar and sings lead vocals in the Laurie Berkner Band. She is a popular artist in the Kindie rock genre.In high school, Berkner was involved in choirs, bands and musical theater. She worked as a summer-camp music counselor, and spent several years as a children's music specialist for day care centers and preschools. She joined a cover band, and then started a band that played original music. She started writing children's music and began performing for children's birthday parties.Berkner's first album, "Whaddaya Think of That?" was a cassette-only release in 1997. She has released 12 albums as of 2020.Berkner appeared on The Today Show, and made regular appearances on Nick Jr., in music videos played between programs and on the program Jack's Big Music Show.
