LOL Wtf is up with the rage of these 1 star reviewers?? Yes, it's true. The mean scary host snacks on fragile egos, and shows no remorse triggering the easily offended. So, if you resort to the fetal position often, or tend to get offended on other people's behalf because you are convinced that you - and you alone can restore equality and peace, one tantrum at a time - then don't listen to this podcast...the host is an asshole ;)

Sword and Scale is an eloquently produced true crime podcast. Mike does an excellent job of immersing the listener into the story. I cannot imagine the time spent on research and interviews and editing. I wait on the edge of my seat for the episodes to be released every other week. To date, I have not found a better podcast in the genre! If you like an episode also check out Sword and Scale rewind where Lynette Carolla and Stephanie wilder-taylor give commentary and delve deeper into each story.

Used to be a fan but the actions of its toxic host have changed my mind.

I love this podcast! The content, the production...everything is first rate. And Mike has a great voice for podcasting; it's amazing to me that I can listen to him discussing a, well, not exactly uplifting topic and yet not get stressed by the subject matter. I learn something new in just about every episode, too, which surprised me. I initially thought I would just be hearing about criminal cases like so many other podcasts out there, but because Mike puts so much thought into the content and research he always gives that little tidbit I find intriguing. S&S is one of the few podcasts I make sure to listen to right away when new episodes come out. Thank you, S&S Team!

This podcast is fantastic from episode one. The production quality is amazing and every episode is thoughtful and well-researched. This is the podcast to listen to if you are a true crime junkie. Mike Boudet, the host, interviews experts, witnesses, lawyers, victims, and first responders to give the audience as much information as possible to form a well-rounded opinion. The podcast is not without an element of humor. Mike Boudet will interject, upon occasion, with humerous quips, glib remarks, or sarcastic commentary.

I've been listening to this podcast for over a year now. I just discovered podcasts at that time and this was the first one that I started listening to. I think that this is one of the most well rounded podcast that is themed around true crime. Other podcasts often give praise to this podcast as inspiration for starting their own podcast. Well produced, outstanding sound quality, and engaging content. All the criteria met for a podcast, as well as a companion podcast that reviews previous episodes, I can't think of another podcast that has achieved this. Outstanding and a pioneer in true crime podcast game.

Mike Boudet is a misogynistic piece of crap. You deserve better than him. Google "Mike Boudet reddit" to learn more.

this was the first podcast I ever listened to. I love the quality, really enjoy the sound bytes and interviews, and the opening is really great too. I'm always excited for the next episode.

AMAZING PODCAST, best yet. I listen to a lot but Mikes is different, it's very raw and real. The worse monsters are real and he's shown us that! Love the host he's very open minded and understand both sides of any story he's commenting on. Great work on the show :) also love the rewind series and being able to go back and review them a little more in depth. Thank you always for the extras you post I know it can be hard but yet you still manage all of it!!! Love from TX!

I am an accountant working for a public accounting firm and the days/weeks get LONG during tax season so I like to have things to listen to while I work. Sword and Scale is one of the best produced podcasts I listen to and is by far my favorite. I recommend it to everyone I know that shows even the slightest interest in true crime.

I've been addicted since Episode 1. I love this podcast. Each episode is done well and professionally. Mike Boudet does his very best to present every side of the situation, It's creepy and I love it!

Fantastic show. Does a wonderful job covering some really difficult subjects with even-keeled and thoughtful commentary. The production is top-notch. I wouldn't recommend to everyone due to the subject matter, but if you are interested in true-crime or exploring the darker recesses of the human spirit this is definitely the show for you.

He's very opinionated and doesn't just tell the story. He interjects his liberal slant and often steps over the line of acceptable. He's a bully. If you write anything negative about his podcast on fb or twitter, he will berate you and, in his opinion, he's always right. You're just an idiot. This used to be my favorite podcast until I just couldn't overlook his personality anymore. He also will give the victims names without their permission and it has caused turmoil in their lives because of it. Why would you do that? They've already been victimized once. I recommend the podcast Casefile.

This is the series that got me into my true crime podcast hyper-consumerism!! Also, bless Sword and Scale for introducing me to Hunt a Killer; for those two reasons I am an indebted loyal listener. Frank and gritty as hell. Boudet's got a voice that really draws you into the story and spins the murderous yarn Hitchcock-esque flair. Not for the sensitive internet brawlers, this dude makes sh*t personal and is unbridled. The early episodes are the best because they do not mince anything (unlike the killers). Sorry/not sorry for the irresistible terrible pun.

Sword and scale is one of my favorite podcasts. Mike does an amazing job at story telling and know just the right soundtrack to bring the story to life.
