2:23
walk you through everything I did
2:25
to prepare for this incredible brand
2:27
shoot that I just finished two
2:29
days ago and why I'm so
2:31
glad that I decided to use
2:33
the company that I went with,
2:35
which no secret. It's in the
2:37
title of this episode. but work
2:39
play branding is the company that
2:41
I went with and I have
2:43
so much to share about this.
2:45
I cannot wait to share all
2:47
the details. If you don't know
2:49
me I'm Chelsea Joe and I
2:51
help work from home moms, systemize
2:53
their home and their business so
2:55
they can manage both of them
2:57
without feeling stretched. Then if you're
2:59
wondering whether a professional brand shoe
3:01
is worth the effort then... Wait
3:03
no longer. I'm going to give
3:05
you all the details Honestly what
3:07
I learned how it went how
3:09
I prepped what I would do
3:11
differently and how this is going
3:13
to impact my business moving forward
3:15
and more importantly How I think
3:17
that you can get prepared with
3:19
a brand shoot that would be
3:21
in your budget and Share all
3:23
the details about work play branding
3:25
because it's totally affordable and honestly
3:27
one of the most high-end brand
3:29
shoots that I have really ever
3:31
worked with and I've worked with
3:33
a ton of photographers at this
3:35
point. So I'm going to break
3:37
this down into five main categories.
3:39
I'm super excited to jump into
3:41
the budgeting and my big takeaways
3:43
like the actual day of the
3:46
shoot, what it looked like, what
3:48
it felt like, the prepping, and
3:50
why I decided to do a
3:52
brand shoot now. So let's actually
3:54
jump in. I really kind of
3:56
want to just start this out
3:58
with why professional photographs are so
4:00
wildly important. And one of the
4:02
reasons why I think from the
4:04
very beginning, I was able to
4:06
and still do care a lot
4:08
about my brand was because I
4:10
came from the wedding industry. And
4:12
obviously, I was in corporate for
4:14
17 years when I had started
4:16
this business, but alongside of my
4:18
corporate career. My mom and I
4:20
ran an event-based business and when
4:22
we would work with really great
4:24
photographers it was like so incredible
4:26
what our work actually ended up
4:28
looking like and how we were
4:30
able to take our brand from
4:32
this drabi thing that I was
4:34
shooting was like the oldest iPhone
4:36
on the planet which probably didn't
4:38
even have an iPhone. I ended
4:40
up getting an iPhone because I
4:42
wanted my images to look even
4:44
better but you know. you get
4:46
in front of a professional photographer
4:48
and that's what really just started
4:50
to kind of set our work
4:52
up to be perceived as the
4:54
quality work that it actually is
4:56
and that's what's so important about
4:58
having high quality images and it
5:00
truly has helped my business to
5:02
grow and it will help your
5:04
business to grow even if you're
5:06
you're in the very very very
5:08
beginning stages I bart I did
5:10
anything and everything that I could
5:12
I would I was just got
5:14
super creative honestly with everything. And
5:17
so our floral design and all
5:19
of that is actually still documented
5:21
on Instagram now under two Lemons
5:23
in Love and you can go
5:25
back pretty far. Two Lemons in
5:27
Love was the name of our
5:29
event-based planning business because my maiden
5:31
name was Lemons. My mom and
5:33
I, that was her. name and
5:35
my maiden name right so we
5:37
just put two lemons in love
5:39
and that was our company name
5:41
and you can go back and
5:43
you can see all of the
5:45
work and as I got into
5:47
we got into higher quality weddings
5:49
the photographers got obviously way better
5:51
and we started getting featured in
5:53
magazines and it was this really
5:55
incredible journey that I learned so
5:57
much about the power of images
5:59
and photography. and how you could
6:01
have the most gorgeous floral arrangements
6:03
and work the way that you
6:05
designed your shoot, the way that
6:07
the bride looked holding your florals
6:09
and it wouldn't really matter if
6:11
you didn't have great images of
6:13
it. So whenever I started this
6:15
business I used my resources and
6:17
my contacts that I had made
6:19
in the wedding industry with tons
6:21
of photographers and was able to
6:23
start getting just a few images.
6:25
Then I really honestly over the
6:27
years have worked with a lot
6:29
of different photographers. I had one
6:31
main staple brand photographer that I
6:33
adore. She does incredible work for
6:35
many, many years and I just
6:37
recently went to a mastermind in
6:39
Texas and I met the CEO
6:41
and the founders of workplay branding
6:43
and had become acquaintances and decent
6:45
online friends with one of the
6:48
girls. Her name is Lyric and
6:50
her and her mom created workplay
6:52
branding. I had another friend that
6:54
also was in the mastermind and
6:56
she ended up pulling the trigger
6:58
and using workplay and then it
7:00
just kind of circled around through
7:02
all of our friends and through
7:04
the people in the mastermind and
7:06
their work that they put out
7:08
was just outstanding, absolutely outstanding, and
7:10
they had this promotion and I
7:12
jumped in and we essentially I
7:14
went with them because of the
7:16
amount of images that I got
7:18
for the amount of time that
7:20
I was with the photographer and
7:22
the option to have B-roll added
7:24
on I honestly just really knew
7:26
that it was time to not
7:28
only have professional images because I've
7:30
always done that and I would
7:32
highly suggest if you're starting any
7:34
kind of online any kind of
7:36
business at all that your main
7:38
core whether it's your website your
7:40
podcast cover art or what you're
7:42
using on the face of your
7:44
YouTube channel Whatever it might be,
7:46
and this isn't necessarily for all
7:48
of your social media and Instagram
7:50
posts, I'll leave that up to
7:52
you, but like the main forward
7:54
communication of your brand, it is
7:56
so wildly important. And so if
7:58
you haven't invested in this yet,
8:00
I definitely recommend it. But the
8:02
reason why I went to work
8:04
play branding, which you can find
8:06
them on Instagram or just go
8:08
to workplaybranding.com, is because of the
8:10
way that they... have everything structured
8:12
and they're not just photographers. They
8:14
do a lot for you with
8:16
branding and we honestly are just
8:19
using them for the sake of
8:21
having good photography multiple times a
8:23
year so that we can pump
8:25
out even more content and I
8:27
want to be able to have
8:29
images that include every part of
8:31
my brand which is my family.
8:33
So that leads me into step
8:35
number two is the prep. So
8:37
the prep for this was... absolutely
8:39
crazy and it won't be for
8:41
you necessarily depending on what your
8:43
brand is but depending on what
8:45
you do in your business but
8:47
it never really has been this
8:49
intense for me so I ended
8:51
up prepping 17 different outfits which
8:53
is wild because I chose to
8:55
bring my family in with me
8:57
in this shoot I have been
8:59
on this bandwagon of keeping my
9:01
kids publicly and like out of
9:03
my business. Man, you'll see glimpses
9:05
of them here and there. And
9:07
I've talked about this a little
9:09
bit on the podcast, but it
9:11
was probably, I don't know, within
9:13
the last six months, I had
9:15
this moment where my heart was
9:17
drastically changed in like an instant.
9:19
I realized that I have grown
9:21
this entire business. Chelsea Joe Doc
9:23
Ho was grown. While I was
9:25
literally juggling juggling and raising my
9:27
babies, which I still am but
9:29
like they were actual babies Bailey
9:31
was a year and a half
9:33
or two years old and Frankie
9:35
was seven and now my youngest
9:37
one is seven and a half
9:39
and I have nothing to document
9:41
what that journey has been like
9:43
other than my pictures of us
9:45
in our personal life but the
9:47
work that I do is so
9:49
personal and it is a hundred
9:52
percent about what I believe to
9:54
be true and I and I
9:56
hold these passions very true. to
9:58
my heart and they are very
10:00
near and dear to me and
10:02
my marriage and my kids, my
10:04
home, how I decorate, how I
10:06
organize, what my system is actually
10:08
look like. This is a huge
10:10
part and so I've always gone
10:12
to Airbnb or coffee shops from
10:14
my co-working space and I was
10:16
like, you know what, I'm so
10:18
done with this. I'm bringing the
10:20
shoot to my house. I'm... bringing
10:22
my kids to the shoot, like
10:24
this is my brand. I have
10:26
shared the depths of my soul
10:28
on this podcast about everything that
10:30
I've been through and prayed about
10:32
it pretty heavily and feel really
10:34
great about making sure that we
10:36
really are telling our story and
10:38
I'm documenting it all the way
10:40
through. So I ended up planning.
10:42
seven different outfits for all of
10:44
us and then several more just
10:46
for me because I did get
10:48
some business shots and I obviously
10:50
got more shots of me than
10:52
I did of the kids and
10:54
my husband I told him I'm
10:56
like you guys are my props
10:58
which was really fun but I
11:00
ended up planning my wardrobe the
11:02
same way and I have other
11:04
episodes where I talk about this
11:06
but essentially I just looked at
11:08
inspiration pictures on Pinterest, like family
11:10
photos in home. I typed in
11:12
work at home branding photos and
11:14
you just have to find the
11:16
keywords that match your specific business.
11:18
A screenshoted a bunch of those,
11:20
put them in a grid, put
11:23
them on a document, printed out
11:25
the document, gave it to the
11:27
people. I did have a friend
11:29
come and help me with a
11:31
shoot that day to help steam
11:33
and to help take care of
11:35
the kids in between shoots and
11:37
transition everything so we could get
11:39
the most out of our time.
11:41
which I'll talk about in the
11:43
next and the third category here,
11:45
but I just wanted to ensure
11:47
that I was fully, fully prepped
11:49
and knew exactly what outfits we
11:51
were gonna wear in each room.
11:53
And honestly, I just had every
11:55
single person and you can do
11:57
this if you're just shooting for
11:59
yourself, you do this for yourself.
12:01
You pull everything out of your
12:03
closet that you would consider to
12:05
be on brand. And it doesn't
12:07
necessarily mean that has to be
12:09
your brand colors, but just. on
12:11
brand, right? It represents you and
12:13
that you feel confident in. And
12:15
if you only have four pairs
12:17
of pants and one t-shirt, then
12:19
great. Now you're going to go
12:21
out and you're going to look
12:23
for three more t-shirts. and then
12:25
three sweaters and maybe two more
12:27
t-shirts and maybe another pair of
12:29
pants and then you're gonna mix
12:31
and match all those outfits. It's
12:33
really straightforward. So I had my
12:35
husband pull out his favorite things,
12:37
my daughters pull out their favorite
12:39
things, we got rid of the
12:41
hot pink and the florals because
12:43
those are totally not on brand
12:45
for me and... I wanted to
12:47
make sure that they felt really
12:49
confident and comfortable, but it still
12:51
was on brand because that's the
12:54
point of branding, right? But my
12:56
kids obviously have their own personalities
12:58
that have nothing to do with
13:00
my brand, and I love their
13:02
personalities, but again, you want to
13:04
look for things that 100% convey.
13:06
a cohesive brand. And so when
13:08
I brought my kids into it
13:10
and when you go into your
13:12
closet and you're trying to bring
13:14
your outfits into it, you want
13:16
to filter with that eye. So
13:18
then we just went, I made
13:20
a list and we just went
13:22
shopping one day and it was
13:24
absolutely so fun and we only
13:26
needed to get a few things
13:28
and we blew through the list
13:30
and it was a really successful
13:32
day. The way that I got
13:34
my kids and my husband involved
13:36
in this was basically just with
13:38
a few conversations and If you,
13:40
when you go to deer shoot,
13:42
you're likely not going to have
13:44
your family involved. But I think
13:46
it's really helpful if you bring
13:48
a friend with you and you
13:50
sit down and you talk through
13:52
the whole kind of day with
13:54
them and what that hour of...
13:56
your shoot is going to look
13:58
like what props you want to
14:00
have involved right and that was
14:02
kind of a big part of
14:04
the planning session of we're going
14:06
to start at the park and
14:08
then we're going to move to
14:10
the kitchen and then the kitchen
14:12
table, then the couch, then the
14:14
office, then the bedrooms, then the
14:16
master bedroom, then the master bath,
14:18
and then we're going to go
14:20
to the coffee shop, then everybody's
14:22
going to come home and then
14:25
I'm going to go to the
14:27
co-working space and then I'm going
14:29
to go to the co-working space and
14:31
like that was the day. Everybody was
14:33
how they were really involved and they
14:35
also you know, I got ideas from
14:37
them and it was a really fun
14:39
moment for me and for my family.
14:41
But this is the first time, every
14:44
other time I've done it alone. So
14:46
this is the first time I've done
14:48
it with them. The other thing that's
14:50
really important is location scouting. If you're
14:53
hiring a photographer, you want to make
14:55
sure that you are providing a space
14:57
that is really easy for them to
14:59
shoot. They may have locations that they
15:02
love. There's some public places that are
15:04
perfectly fine with you shooting. Some places
15:06
are not okay with it, so you
15:08
definitely want to double check. But I've
15:10
also worked with some really cool... companies
15:13
where they provide the location in
15:15
the photographer and then you just
15:17
get to drop in for like
15:19
20 minutes and they just blow
15:22
through CEOs and different brands and
15:24
you get to pick from all
15:26
of those images of you in
15:28
those 20 minutes and you can
15:31
do that once a month. So
15:33
you do some research, pop into
15:35
some Facebook groups, contact some local
15:37
co-working spaces, see if anybody knows
15:39
of different resources. And again, when
15:42
I first started out and didn't
15:44
have a budget, I literally just
15:46
bartered. And I was like, hey, if
15:48
you can, would you want to? you know,
15:50
shoot for like 15 minutes in exchange,
15:52
I would be happy to and then
15:54
insert the thing that you are skilled
15:57
at, you know. And so for a
15:59
while in the way... industry I would
16:01
provide them beautiful content to shoot that
16:03
they could put their knee behind as
16:05
as a floral designer and I just
16:08
needed more images of my work and
16:10
then now obviously when I started doing
16:12
this business, it was helping them organize
16:14
their time and get their workflows organized
16:16
and give them the systems that they
16:19
need in home and business. So organizing
16:21
props is the last thing that I
16:23
really want to talk about when it
16:25
comes to the prep because you want
16:28
to have as many props as possible.
16:30
The number of times I grab my
16:32
laptop and my notebook and my pen
16:34
and a water bottle and a coffee
16:36
mug and glasses, anything that you can
16:39
do to kind of change the variety
16:41
of your photos so that you get
16:43
more ver- in and out of that
16:45
shoot, the better. All right. Let's blow
16:47
through these last three. The last one
16:50
is my final takeaways, but I definitely
16:52
want to talk about the day of
16:54
the shoot, how it ran, and then
16:56
we're going to talk about budgeting for
16:59
this, and whether or not I think
17:01
it's to invest, it's good to invest
17:03
a lot or a little, to invest,
17:05
it's good to invest a lot or
17:07
a little in your photos, depending on
17:10
where you work with work, play branding,
17:12
they send a photographer, they send a
17:14
The photographer just comes to you and
17:16
it's scheduled. And it's pretty straightforward. If
17:18
a photographer does not live in your
17:21
area, they actually fly a photographer for
17:23
you and you pay the cost of
17:25
the flight. The cool thing is is
17:27
that my photographer was literally in California
17:30
where in Arizona the flight was insanely
17:32
inexpensive and she ubered here. It was
17:34
piece of cake showed up, said I'll
17:36
be there at 10 o'clock, like literally
17:38
at 10 o'clock, the doorbell rang. And
17:41
here we are. And so we started,
17:43
I laid everything out the night before.
17:45
The other thing that I didn't mention,
17:47
because I was shooting in my house,
17:49
I had to prep my house like
17:52
a mamma jamba. I had one photographer
17:54
actually tell me one time that no,
17:56
she wouldn't shoot in my house because...
17:58
there would be too much stuff and
18:01
we would have to spend too much
18:03
time cleaning everything off of the surfaces
18:05
and it needs to be more like
18:07
an Airbnb where there's not much around.
18:09
And I remember feeling so discouraged by
18:12
that and I was very very excited
18:14
for this shoot and yes. We did
18:16
actually go through and move the four
18:18
shampoo bottles out right and like the
18:20
shower Squeegy and like we did take
18:23
the bowl of bananas off of the
18:25
counter we did but honestly There's not
18:27
really much in my house anyway. It's
18:29
a pretty minimal design, but we had
18:32
a lot of things. We've lived in
18:34
this house for not quite two years,
18:36
and I was astonished at the amount
18:38
of like little details. I still hadn't
18:40
even hung up my menu board. Like
18:43
some of my core systems, I've just
18:45
been like writing down on the whiteboard
18:47
on the fridge, and I hadn't actually
18:49
formally set up those systems, and I
18:51
really wanted to shoot them. And so
18:54
we worked our tails off for... four
18:56
days in a row after I crammed
18:58
in all of my work for my
19:00
company and I was like all right
19:03
I need four days off you guys
19:05
Saturday and Sunday and Monday Tuesday and
19:07
then Wednesday I'm shooting all day so
19:09
peace out handle everything I'm out and
19:11
we ended up getting everything done but
19:14
Wow, I was tired. I was really
19:16
tired. Got really good sleep the night
19:18
before the shoot. I ensured, which I
19:20
talked about this in my stories. I
19:22
made sure that I used my frownies
19:25
the night before, that I did my
19:27
skin care. Me and Frankie went and
19:29
we got our hair blown out that
19:31
morning at the dry bar, which was
19:34
really fun. She absolutely loved that. And...
19:36
Basically, we just followed the schedule and
19:38
I had a must have shot list
19:40
of all the things that I really
19:42
wanted to shoot because I never have
19:45
enough pictures of my time blocking like
19:47
my actual method. I never have enough
19:49
pictures of me with my kids. So
19:51
there were finally a ton of them,
19:53
you know, and there was just like
19:56
little things. that every time I go
19:58
to post something or write about something.
20:00
I never have a picture of it
20:02
in that. So I created this must
20:05
have shot list. And so we worked
20:07
off of that in every bedroom. And
20:09
every time we switched rooms, I would
20:11
send the kids and my husband off.
20:13
Okay, now it's time for you to
20:16
go change into your living room outfit
20:18
and all the living room outfits were
20:20
all put together. And my friend Kristen
20:22
would just hand them over. Here's yours.
20:24
Here's yours. Here's yours. And I would
20:27
finish shooting content for myself in that
20:29
area. I've been posting a lot of
20:31
B-roll and some stuff that my friend
20:33
Kristen took from the background and my
20:36
story. So if you're listening to this
20:38
episode when it came out, the day
20:40
that it went live, go check out.
20:42
you know, kind of what this looked
20:44
like behind the scenes in my Instagram
20:47
stories. And obviously I'm going to be
20:49
so excited when we get the actual
20:51
photographs back. I've seen tons of sneak
20:53
peaks already, but like when we get
20:55
the full gallery back, I'll be really
20:58
excited to share. So that's basically what
21:00
the whole shoot looked like, and the
21:02
kids did an amazing job. I did
21:04
prep them a little bit. I kind
21:07
of dry ran what it would be
21:09
like because I've done this so many
21:11
times. The amount of smiling and fake
21:13
laughing and like you awkward, you're awkwardly
21:15
close. I'm like, if we're folding laundry
21:18
together, we're actually going to be like
21:20
sitting right next to each other, which
21:22
is not how we do it in
21:24
real life, but you have to fit
21:27
in frame, you know, in the picture.
21:29
And so we talked about a lot
21:31
of that and then the day of
21:33
it just essentially was kind of. playing
21:35
out everything that we had already prepped.
21:38
And so that prep work ended up
21:40
helping the day run so smoothly. We
21:42
did have a couple snacks prepped. I
21:44
went to Trader Joe's the day before
21:46
and I made sure that we had
21:49
snacks in the fridge. We went through
21:51
checkfully drive through and got a bunch
21:53
of chicken minis for breakfast that day.
21:55
Because I did not even think about
21:58
breakfast and I was like, oh my
22:00
gosh, everyone's gonna think my kitchen. You
22:02
know, and so we ended up getting
22:04
the chicken minis and it was so
22:06
funny my friend came over. She's like,
22:09
oh my gosh, I'm so excited to
22:11
know that Chelsea actually is a chick
22:13
flame. What are you talking about? Of
22:15
course I eat a chick flame. And
22:17
I'm like, it's actually really not good
22:20
for you. There's MSG in their food.
22:22
Anyway, the crunchy side of me is
22:24
coming out, but I digress. So that
22:26
was basically how the day ran. And
22:29
about we had one more room to
22:31
go. before we went to the coffee
22:33
shop that's in our community. And my
22:35
kids, the littlest one, I started losing
22:37
them and I was like, we're losing
22:40
them people, you know, and I was
22:42
even starting to kind of feel it.
22:44
And so that's when I was like,
22:46
I think we all need a snack
22:48
break. and we finished up our last
22:51
shot, we got a snack break and
22:53
then we headed off and that very
22:55
last shoot was really nice to end
22:57
in a different environment to get out
23:00
of the house, got to shoot a
23:02
little bit there and then I went
23:04
off to my co-working space and the
23:06
kids went home and that's when I
23:08
really got to blow through and like
23:11
really turn it on fully come out
23:13
of mom mode and really come out
23:15
of mom mode and really get some
23:17
incredible creative images a shot and just
23:19
kind of wrap up the day where
23:22
like my cheeks were quivering. It's like,
23:24
how many times have I looked over
23:26
my shoulder and laughed and like, you
23:28
know, just so much of that, which
23:31
is really amazing. But I think balancing
23:33
the kids, it's just, it was a
23:35
challenge for me to do it in
23:37
that fashion. And I think at this
23:39
point. you know I've done one to
23:42
two brand shoots a year every year
23:44
since I've started and so I think
23:46
this was like my sixth year doing
23:48
brand shoots and I did so many
23:50
of them in the wedding business that
23:53
I kind of knew what to do
23:55
this was the first time I shot
23:57
by myself and didn't have a friend
23:59
like another CEO shooting with me and
24:02
I was like am I gonna know
24:04
what to do and I'm sure you
24:06
probably have that fear because Even I
24:08
still do and I've done it several
24:10
times now, but that's a really great
24:13
thing about having a good photographer and
24:15
the photographer that we worked with. through
24:17
work play branding was so great. They
24:19
give you so much direction. They tell
24:21
you where to look. They show you
24:24
what the images are looking like. So
24:26
you can give feedback and you can
24:28
see how it's going. And do you
24:30
like your hair? And they help you
24:33
move your hair. And how should I
24:35
stand? And where do I put my
24:37
arm? And it's just a whole lot
24:39
of that. And oh my gosh, hey,
24:41
let's move this cup. I don't really
24:44
like where that one's sitting. And I
24:46
find it to be one sitting. celebratory
24:48
kind of day, you know, and the
24:50
day really did go so much better
24:52
than I expected. And there's not really
24:55
anything that I wish we would have
24:57
done differently. I do know that we
24:59
were so fortunate and so blessed because
25:01
it ended up being a cloudy day.
25:04
And when I planned the entire day,
25:06
I... never even thought to take the
25:08
sunlight into consideration. We didn't even have
25:10
to worry about it because it was
25:12
cloudy, which never happens in Arizona. It
25:15
was overcast the entire day, and if
25:17
it wouldn't have been, all of my
25:19
outdoor shots would not have been like
25:21
a viable place to shoot. So that
25:23
is one thing that I would definitely...
25:26
I lucked out for sure, like God
25:28
was like here, you can have the
25:30
perfect, you can have the perfect overcast
25:32
today. So I really, really, really feel
25:35
fortunate about that, but definitely take a
25:37
mental note of that for you if
25:39
you're shooting outside to make sure that
25:41
you think about the time of day,
25:43
which my photographers normally do for me,
25:46
but this time I was planning on
25:48
all the locations on my own. Okay,
25:50
let's talk about budget. What does the
25:52
budget typically look like? If you go
25:54
over to work play branding, you'll. you
25:57
are definitely going to want to consider
25:59
working with them. If you want images
26:01
for social, if you have a full-blown
26:03
business, and it doesn't matter what
26:05
it is, even if they do
26:07
products as well, if you run
26:10
a product-based business, if you do
26:12
any type of coaching, any kind
26:14
of online business, any kind of
26:16
branding, like they do stuff, there's
26:18
this one girl that she does.
26:20
Like she rides horses in the Olympics or
26:22
something, the photographer was telling me about it.
26:25
And I was like, what were you shooting?
26:27
And she was like, oh, she wants to
26:29
start teaching other girls how to do the
26:31
same thing. And so they were just getting her
26:34
set up with branding photos. And I was
26:36
like, oh my gosh. It's like it literally
26:38
does not matter what you do. But again,
26:40
I've already alluded to this. There are a
26:42
lot of DIY solutions. Let me
26:44
tell you one of the most affordable.
26:46
ways to get DIY photos without
26:48
a photographer at all. You have
26:50
to do a lot of homework,
26:52
but you can get a remote
26:55
off of Amazon that connects to
26:57
your iPhone and you can Google
26:59
search and look on YouTube the
27:01
settings to set up your iPhone
27:03
in and ensure that you have
27:05
incredible lighting. Be in a really
27:07
great space and you can get
27:09
some good photos. Again, I can't
27:12
recommend this enough. 30 minutes, 30
27:14
to 60 minutes with a good
27:16
branding photographer will give you enough
27:18
images for an entire year,
27:20
okay? Especially if you're just
27:22
starting out. The return on
27:25
your investment is going
27:27
to serve you. just greatly. More
27:29
than you could even anticipate. So
27:31
when it comes to your brand
27:33
and marketing and the content that
27:36
you're going to be putting out,
27:38
I highly recommend that you save
27:40
a little money and make sure
27:42
that you can get a good
27:44
branding photographer on board. Now there
27:47
are branding photographers that I won't
27:49
work with that literally... We'll charge
27:51
you $5,000 to $10,000 and they're
27:53
amazing and we're play branding is
27:55
a fraction of the cost and
27:57
they are just as amazing so
28:00
I definitely would shout them
28:02
from the rooftops, which is
28:04
a big reason why I'm
28:06
recording this podcast. And the
28:08
last and final thing, and
28:10
I'm not affiliated with them
28:12
at all, either, like just
28:14
workplaybranding.com is their website. So.
28:16
I just really adore Lyric
28:18
and the work that she's
28:20
doing her company and what
28:23
they've created and I also
28:25
as a consumer really love
28:27
the experience and the product.
28:29
So last but not least
28:31
my final takeaways. I think
28:33
the biggest lesson that I
28:35
learned that I wanted to
28:37
share with all of you
28:39
is to document a really
28:41
authentic version of your brand in
28:43
the highest quality way possible.
28:46
And the reason why I say
28:48
that is because there's so many
28:51
polished brands out there. And
28:53
I adore polished, I adore formality,
28:55
I adore, you know, obviously
28:58
systems and things that
29:00
have processes and order and
29:02
I love being organized. And
29:04
so my brand is a
29:06
reflection of that, but I was
29:08
holding true to that in a way.
29:10
that I knew there was always a
29:12
little piece of me and that was
29:14
not being represented and that was my
29:17
home and I've done a couple shoots
29:19
with Blaine because he's an adult and
29:21
he can speak for himself right like
29:23
I do want to do this or
29:25
I don't you know and my kids
29:27
now are a little bit older to
29:30
where we've had these conversations with
29:32
them and they were very
29:34
excited about it. But I
29:36
want you to really think
29:38
about how you can authentically
29:40
represent your brand when you're
29:42
getting started. And even if
29:44
you're like me and you're like
29:47
five, six years in and you're
29:49
like, okay, how do I even take
29:51
what I've been doing and make it
29:53
just that much more true to who
29:56
I am? How do I really show
29:58
up as myself in my brand? that
30:00
through really incredible images. The
30:02
last thing I want to
30:05
say is obviously I would
30:07
do this again. I don't
30:09
know. Obviously I'm just going
30:11
to change locations and change
30:13
the variety, but other than that I
30:15
really wouldn't change much at all. And
30:17
the last thing that I want to
30:20
leave you with is just for you
30:22
to really think about whether or not
30:24
a branding shoot is right for you
30:26
right now in your business and when
30:28
you think it would be right for
30:30
you in your business. If you are
30:32
inside of our free community Facebook group,
30:34
I would love for you to start
30:36
this conversation over there for you to
30:38
talk about and maybe even link the
30:40
photographers that you're thinking of working with,
30:42
maybe find some people that are in
30:44
your area. We have thousands and thousands
30:46
of women there. There's got to be
30:48
somebody that lips near you. that might
30:50
have contacts for you, that might know
30:52
of some cool resources in your area.
30:54
And obviously, please make sure you head
30:56
over and check out Workplay branding to
30:58
see if what they offer would be
31:00
a good fit for you. If you're
31:02
feeling like after listening to all of
31:04
this, this is really exciting and it
31:06
sounds really dreamy, but it might not
31:08
be for you. It just might be
31:10
way too much to take on. I
31:12
totally get it. But after going through
31:15
this process, I can confidently say that
31:17
it is so worth it. your prep
31:19
right and you get behind the camera
31:21
of a really good photographer. The key
31:23
obviously is having some systems in place
31:25
and I hope that me sharing the
31:27
prep and organization and kind of the
31:29
process that I went through helps to
31:31
give you a little bit of insight
31:33
for you when you step foot into
31:35
your next branding shoot. All right friends
