Sadly, success is no longer valued because society no longer values individualism or a strong work ethic. In its place are a hybrid of communal responsibility and social equity sprinkled with a heavy dose of victimhood, laziness, and entitlement that has robbed us of our national pride. It's clearly visible at all levels of society, manifesting as a focus on race, gender, and other immutable characteristics through the lens of leftist equity theory.
