After a software dev podcast that covers latest developments in industry across a variety of disciplines? The Changelog podcast is it. I have been on the lookout for a good software podcast for years and have yet to find better. I've been a listener since 2019. I listen to every episode of Changelog news, most of the interviews and talk shows and a few of the satellite shows too - GoTime, JSParty and PracticalAI and I don't even program in Go...yet! That's how good it is. News is awesome. Every Tuesday (AEST boi), the greeting "What up nerds" ushers me from my slow and painful daily commute into a fast-paced, glitch-core soundscape of software show-and-tell, developer wisdom nuggets and engaging industry news that inspires me right in the soul and tells my inner imposter-syndrome bully that I'm a real boy. Each episode gives a shout out to an awesome open source software project. And I mean awesome. I'm fussy and I keep tidy lists of my starred GitHub repos, but I have starred nearly every suggestion. Weekly, I battle the urge to check the show notes and star the repos while driving. The interviews themselves are great. Other podcasts I've found difficult to gel with, But Changelog is top notch. The hosts, Jerod and Adam are relatable. They ask the right questions and keep it fun. They're humble and down-to-earth, yet highly experienced and have great chemistry with their guests of all backgrounds. They clearly have an authentic love for open source, cool tools and the success of their guests. They've had some top-notch guests too including Matt Ahrens of ZFS, Techno Tim, Paul Copplestone of Supabase, Alex Kretzschmar of Tailscale, and Louis Penfold of Gleam, to name a few. I better leave it there. Give them a listen!
Great podcast about Open-Source technologies & the software inside many big companies. Love it!
