podcasting. Hello

0:27

and welcome to the 500 and

0:29

third edition of the fallout feed.

0:31

I am Andrew joined by Jess.

0:33

Hey Jess, what's going on? Hey I

0:35

am a flock of your favorite fallout

0:37

faces tonight. It is the

0:39

flock and the peanut gallery and the

0:42

ray is on the road so Jess

0:44

and I am also on the road

0:46

tonight but Jess is holding down the

0:48

fort. Everyone else is on rolling out.

0:50

So hope Jess has fun and we'll

0:52

see you later. Have fun, Jess. We

0:55

let's go. No, greets everybody. Yeah,

0:57

I've got my fingers on all

0:59

the buttons tonight, but we're going

1:01

to run it and people listening

1:03

live and discord chat get to

1:05

enjoy the ride. Yes. And tonight on

1:07

the show, we'll go over some gameplay

1:09

off the top as for our usual

1:12

pattern. Then we've got feedback from people.

1:14

We've got that new Google DLC that

1:16

we'll get into with a new season.

1:18

that just launched for a fallout 76

1:20

and maybe a couple of tidbits

1:23

on the news on our way out the

1:25

door so well just go ahead and roll

1:27

right into and check in with Jess

1:29

and see if you get a chance

1:31

to play an adventure games this week.

1:33

You know I did play a

1:35

few video games this week but

1:37

maybe not the ones you're looking

1:39

for. This week you're never going

1:41

to believe what I installed and boot

1:44

it up. Madden. Actually, because

1:46

Ray's not here, I installed Fallout

1:48

London. I figured he'd be, you know,

1:50

happy to miss it. No. What actually

1:52

happened was I need to get back

1:55

in and see if it actually survived

1:57

the migration to the new PC. And

1:59

it didn't. I couldn't even, I kind of

2:01

knew that would be the case, like some

2:03

of my steam games and such, you know,

2:05

you can just, I swap the drive, I

2:07

validated files, they started running. In this

2:09

case though, I got the drive in, but

2:12

it's not a steam game because it's so

2:14

heavily modded. First, it's the modern Fallout 4

2:16

install with Fallout London, but then on

2:18

top of it, I did a manual

2:20

install of, I probably have like 25

2:23

mods going on my fault London. So yeah,

2:25

the mod at this point. Exactly, which you

2:27

can use a mod manager with it now

2:29

and stuff like that. But that first two

2:31

months I was playing, I was doing

2:33

it all kind of manually because we

2:35

weren't sure how all that would run yet. So

2:37

I'm redown only by my mods. I got

2:40

it reinstalled. I've got it mostly running, but

2:42

not quite. So. You didn't miss anything, Ray.

2:44

Not that you ever thought I would actually

2:46

play it anyway. But that was a good

2:48

day. That was one of my game playing

2:50

this week. And we actually recorded last night.

2:53

It was last Saturday. We recorded with Vanessa,

2:55

right? Last episode? Yes. Yes. Yeah. So that was

2:57

fun recording during the day, last weekend. And I

2:59

don't know if we had a different energy if

3:01

we brought anything new to the show that way.

3:03

But I feel like guests are more awake and

3:05

I'm less awake and I'm less awake and I

3:07

like one in the afternoon. Well, because you're

3:10

just waking up at one in the afternoon.

3:12

I mean, I'm civilized, okay? We've established

3:14

on the show that whenever I wake

3:17

up is the morning, and it's not

3:19

tomorrow until I wake up. So if I

3:21

go to bed at eight in the morning

3:23

on a Saturday and wake up at noon,

3:25

then it's not tomorrow until noon on a

3:28

one. Yeah. Exactly. See, I'm glad you're

3:30

with the program, Andrew. You

3:32

understand this. Oh, I understand. You've

3:34

lectured this into me. how guest time works.

3:36

I think a lot of people who work third

3:39

shift and overnight shifts, they kind of get into

3:41

that point where it is still Friday until at

3:43

least, you know, when you get home and

3:45

go to bed. Maybe, you know, maybe they're not

3:47

quite as like stubborn as me in saying it's

3:50

not tomorrow until I wake up. But really, you know

3:52

what, it can be tomorrow as soon as I fall

3:54

asleep. You guys can have that. I won't know. I

3:56

won't be there. I'll be there. I'll be sleeping.

3:58

But anyway. But anyway. So I did

4:01

get Follow London running. The other

4:03

thing I installed this week was

4:05

Oblivion. Ooh, I just saw a

4:07

post you did on the Blue

4:10

Sky about some anniversary or

4:12

some such for Oblivion? Yeah,

4:14

so yesterday, March 20th, was

4:16

Oblivion's 19th anniversary. That

4:19

was exciting, going to

4:21

celebrate. There was, fingers were

4:23

crossed that that would be

4:25

the day that they announced

4:27

the Oblivion remaster. But they did

4:30

not. Oh, I know soon. There's always

4:32

next year. Andrew? Yeah,

4:34

first quarter 2026 says Andrew.

4:37

Yes, exactly. Oh, man, maybe

4:39

third quarter 2025. We're lucky.

4:41

Oh, well, thank you. You

4:43

know what? Maybe that would be

4:45

okay. But rumor has it still

4:48

that they're going to announce

4:50

it and it might even

4:52

be real at least within

4:54

the next month or so.

4:56

Rumors say by June. We'll find

4:58

out. sneak it out tomorrow like

5:01

a Beyonce album. Exactly. You know,

5:03

well Todd has said many times,

5:05

the short of the time between

5:07

announce and release, the happier he is.

5:09

And we all want Todd to be

5:12

happy, right? Like if there's one thing

5:14

in the world that I want, it's

5:16

for Mr. Todd Howard to be happy

5:18

and give me fall out five. And

5:20

there was much rejoicing. Why do

5:23

you think that is? Do you think

5:25

he just gets hounded by press and...

5:27

that time between the announcement and release

5:29

or what? I think that's part of

5:31

it. Yeah, I mean, especially in the past.

5:34

I mean, now that the new cycle for

5:36

gaming has become a little more active, it's

5:38

hard to escape no matter how you do

5:40

it. Even before the announcement, people are always,

5:43

you know, where's fall out five? Where's fall

5:45

out season two? Where's a nuclear winner? They

5:47

don't forget. He's a producer on the TV

5:49

show, isn't he? He is. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Todd's

5:51

cooking. So people talk about either way,

5:54

but when you announce something, say two

5:56

years ahead or more, like, let's talk

5:58

about a little game. a little game called Elder

6:00

Scroll Six. First revealed on stage in E3, 2018. Oh

6:03

my God, Elder Scroll Six, Sky Rim, Two. And we

6:05

all know that wasn't a real reveal. Right, I mean,

6:07

that's the whole idea. Yeah, that was a teaser of

6:09

a teaser. It's saying, hey guys, here's the agenda. We're

6:11

gonna release this amazing game. You're gonna love called Follow

6:13

76 that will have absolutely no bugs. Then, three or

6:15

four years later, we're going to release this game I've

6:18

been thinking about for 20 years called Starfield. We believe

6:20

you. And then soon after that, we'll be Elder Scroll

6:22

Six. So it was really just setting an agenda, like

6:24

you did at the start of the show, right? So

6:26

anyway, oblivion. So I installed oblivion because I had... I

6:28

do, I believe, I believe in the remakester coming out,

6:31

which by the way, that's what we're calling it now,

6:33

because we don't know if it's a remaster, we don't

6:35

know. Some people call the remake, but we don't know,

6:37

because it's never been officially announced. So it is a

6:39

remakester. Just use that everybody, everybody's happy. It'll work out.

6:41

The engine that they function on or something? Sometimes it's

6:43

the engine. So every master usually takes the game as

6:46

it is, and polishes it up a little bit, enhances

6:48

all of the textures, ups the resolution on the game,

6:50

improves the FPS, like does all the things to take

6:52

what was there, and improve all the pieces, just to

6:54

make it much prettier, but you're still playing the same

6:56

game, just prettier. Sometimes that's done in the same engine,

6:58

sometimes it's done with a little two-layer thing like this

7:01

is rumored to do, where it's still running with the

7:03

original core. but that's inside of a framework of something

7:05

else that's then, you know, answering all of the calls

7:07

and making things happen. A remake can be done either

7:09

in a similar engine, like say it was an Unreal

7:11

3 game, they poured to Unreal 5, you know, so

7:13

it might not be like a completely new engine, but

7:16

essentially like moving what they can and then recreating the

7:18

rest. A remake though... will take and

7:20

they will recreate that system.

7:22

You know what I mean?

7:24

They will do new programming

7:26

to make the game do

7:29

similar things and add to

7:31

it. And with the oblivion

7:33

remakester, the rumors, isn't it

7:35

crazy that we first heard

7:37

about this summer of 2023

7:39

and it's never beneficially corroborated?

7:41

Like I said, if Todd's

7:44

happy, right? But the rumor

7:46

has said that they are

7:48

going to do a number

7:50

of things around the combat

7:52

and traversal systems, you know,

7:54

make combat feel a little

7:56

more visceral, little more satisfying,

7:59

actually have the enemies maybe

8:01

even flinch a little when

8:03

you hit them as opposed

8:05

to, but you believe in,

8:07

you played a little bit

8:09

of oblivion, right, Andrew? Yeah,

8:11

played it a couple of

8:14

times. Kind of like Fallout

8:16

3, it has that thing

8:18

where you can hit an

8:20

enemy and not much happens.

8:22

Like if you're in vats,

8:24

you get the kill cams

8:27

and Fallout 3, that's how

8:29

they kind of made it

8:31

happen. But if you're there

8:33

whacking a guy with your

8:35

death claw gauntlet, you're not

8:37

going to react that much,

8:39

you know, and in oblivion,

8:42

it was even less. So

8:44

get things like that in

8:46

there. But my thought was,

8:48

I want to see oblivion

8:50

as it is right now,

8:52

like running in the back

8:54

and pat version on the

8:57

Xbox, like how it runs

8:59

with 60 FPS, all the

9:01

colors and stuff, because the

9:03

last playthrough I did was

9:05

after the back and pat

9:07

version was available with some

9:09

upscale, but it was still,

9:12

gosh, probably 2018. I did

9:14

a full playthrough. I played

9:16

with the Skyrimmatic podcast in

9:18

their oblivion Thieves Guild run,

9:20

and I played then, but

9:22

that hardly counts. I got

9:25

to like level six or

9:27

seven. Although,

9:29

actually, wait, hold on. You beat

9:31

oblivion at level three, didn't you?

9:33

Am I remembering correctly? It was,

9:35

yeah, very low level. I didn't

9:37

know sidequesting, no searching, no exploring,

9:39

only beeline, only the main quest

9:42

and, you know, had to turn

9:44

the difficulty way down, of course,

9:46

because I couldn't defeat the end

9:48

stuff. Right. But without turning the

9:50

difficulty way down. Level scaling. Well,

9:52

some of them are going to

9:54

be a little tougher, but because

9:56

you don't level, the enemies aren't

9:59

going to scale that much. And oblivion has

10:01

this fun mechanic. Yeah, if you're

10:03

level three, your bad guys wouldn't

10:05

be that high level either. And if

10:07

you don't sleep, you don't level. And

10:10

that's kind of what happened, right?

10:12

You were just playing and not ever

10:14

sleeping pretty much. Yeah, I think, see,

10:16

I wasn't used to that mechanic

10:18

that you have to sleep to level,

10:20

you know, I never really heard

10:23

of that before. Right. Andrew Gosey

10:25

finally sleeps after getting like 40-some

10:27

levels, like times five. on everything

10:29

every time you level. It'll be sweet.

10:32

Yeah, but anyway, I remember it's been

10:34

a while. I was really impressed and

10:36

also bewildered as I sometimes am

10:38

by your gameplay that you did

10:40

that. I do weird things

10:42

sometimes. You know, a lot of times

10:44

it's just because you don't know, like

10:46

it's an odd choice, but it worked

10:48

for you, right? I'm just gonna keep

10:50

going. I got a quiz marker, let's

10:52

go. Might as well. Yeah, discover the

10:55

entire outside of the map, every game you

10:57

play, you know, these are things you got

10:59

to do first. Yeah, you love doing the,

11:01

catching the rim of the map all the

11:03

way around for some reason. Kind of

11:05

makes you wonder, Fall Shelter doesn't have

11:07

a map, but if it did, he

11:09

would totally do it there too.

11:11

Just thinking about that the other day, like,

11:14

if someone has, like, you know,

11:16

because read it has pretty much.

11:18

conversations about anything you can ever imagine.

11:20

I bet you someone on red it

11:22

has actually mapped out all the locations

11:25

that we are listed in the,

11:27

you know, fallout shelter quests like

11:29

in some imaginary, like three-dimensional land.

11:31

Where do you think fallout shelter

11:33

takes place? It is, it takes place

11:35

because it was before fallout four.

11:37

It takes place in the Commonwealth. And

11:40

they do reference, I mean, they're

11:42

generic versions of them, but they reference

11:44

places that appear. in the in

11:46

the Commonwealth pretty much. Okay. I was

11:48

going to say, oh, but they also

11:51

referenced threesa, but that's mainly the

11:53

that trivia quest that they reference

11:55

stuff from three. So yeah, in

11:57

and for here, we're up in the Commonwealth.

12:00

I guess that makes sense. Yeah. Yep. You know,

12:02

it's funny. Notoriously, Clint, our friend,

12:04

Clint is the person in our

12:06

community who started with fallout shelter

12:08

first. But I actually think we

12:11

have somebody in chat. I think

12:13

Randall Wasteland. Correct me if I'm

12:15

wrong. He's listening live today. Random

12:17

Wasteland. Was Fallout Shelter your first

12:19

full fallout game too? Yeah. He says, yes,

12:21

that's awesome. That is just what I mean

12:23

to start with. I mean, one of the

12:25

neat things about starting with Fallout shelter.

12:28

With Fall Shelter is well. First of

12:30

all, as Andrew would say, it's the best fallout

12:32

game. Of course. But it's got all

12:34

that fallout flavor without all the complicated

12:36

systems. Like there are systems to learn,

12:38

you know, I'm not saying there's no depth

12:40

to the game. There's strategy, there's

12:42

min-maxing, there's legendary babies, there's all

12:44

the things you've heard Andrew talk

12:47

about. But at the same time, you're

12:49

not getting encumbered, you know, you're not going

12:51

to have to have to deal with your

12:53

food and drink. meters and it's like

12:55

survival. Well you do get encumbered

12:57

just because you have people who

12:59

return from quests and you only

13:01

have so many slots for your inventory

13:04

and they can't come home until you

13:06

like clear out or sell or scrap

13:08

stuff and so they're sitting out there

13:10

and a lot of the time I

13:12

have like people lined up outside because

13:14

I'm just like too stubborn to I'm

13:17

like, no, I don't want to sell

13:19

that gun. No, I don't want to

13:21

scrap that thing. No, they'll just stay

13:23

out there forever. And I realize that

13:25

I really should scrap the stuff, get

13:27

rid of the lower level stuff, bring them

13:30

in, send them back out so they can

13:32

get higher level stuff. But I'm just like,

13:34

no, I don't want to sell that thing.

13:36

It's my pack rat attitude. It

13:38

transfers from every game to... Every other

13:40

game, I guess. And every game. The way you

13:42

started that sentence when you were saying, you know,

13:44

they can't come back. And I was thinking you

13:47

were going to say, they can't come back until

13:49

they've got enough loot. You just, you go out

13:51

there. You keep going. You go out there until

13:53

you die and I got a rescue. Or your

13:55

inventory is completely full. Now I was just thinking about

13:57

that the other day. It's like, man, I miss

13:59

red. directing people because I always

14:01

I only play survival mode now

14:04

and once they're dead they're dead

14:06

so like I don't send anyone

14:08

out on Quest without a pet

14:10

anymore because if you have a

14:12

pet the pet always survives and

14:14

they somehow magically know to pick

14:16

up all their junk and carry

14:18

it home they leave the dead

14:20

body but they carry all their

14:22

items home wait so you're essentially

14:24

it's like you're sending out a

14:26

pet as an escort so it's

14:28

like bartertown Two men enter one

14:30

man's leaves, except two men enter

14:32

the one wasteland and one parrot

14:34

comes back. Except for a parrot

14:36

carrying, you know, a rocket lodger.

14:38

A lot of juicy loot. I

14:40

cannot imagine your dwellers are signing

14:42

up for wasteland quests. Actually, that's

14:45

probably not there. They're like, no,

14:47

get that dog away for me.

14:49

Because I imagine your quest teams,

14:51

you always take good care of.

14:53

You know, you sent her to

14:55

the quest, I got the best

14:57

arm and the best gear. Yeah.

14:59

Try. So my thought was with

15:01

the remakester coming out, I want

15:03

to compare the two. So I'm

15:05

recording, walking through different section of

15:07

believing, walking through the Imperial City,

15:09

walking through Annaville and Bruma, up

15:11

to Coral, getting some pictures, so

15:13

that then I can take the

15:15

same pictures and compare on the

15:17

remakester if it comes, let's just

15:19

assume that it's coming out. And

15:21

I just had to revisit it.

15:23

So I played a little of

15:26

that. Well, you posted, there's a

15:28

more interesting topic in that picture

15:30

that you posted. This was your

15:32

longest time to complete a game?

15:34

Oh, yeah. I think I've mentioned

15:36

that before. My longest of 100%

15:38

completion. When I say that, I

15:40

mean, of course, all achievements, but

15:42

also all achievements on the DLC.

15:44

You know what I mean? So

15:46

the game shows 100% and it's

15:48

funny. I started on the PC.

15:50

The first games I got. I

15:52

did not know you started on

15:54

EC. How dare you dirty? Dirty

15:56

Peace A player. Yeah, it was

15:58

me. Oh goodness. I had already

16:00

played oblivion there and you know,

16:02

I loved it because I had

16:05

loved Morrow and when I got

16:07

the Xbox I got mass effect

16:09

I got oblivion and I got

16:11

the first Dragon Age and I

16:13

got fable which funny thing. Think

16:15

more about it. All four of

16:17

those are in my top games

16:19

of all time. Yeah. And they

16:21

all. Because they're the best games

16:23

or because you're nostalgic for them

16:25

though. You know, that's the thing.

16:27

It's strongly possible, but it's not

16:29

just. Those are all classic games.

16:31

But it's widely accepted that 2007

16:33

was one of the greatest years

16:35

in gaming as far as a

16:37

lot of games coming out 2007-2008.

16:39

So when I picked up the

16:41

Xbox 2008, I was able to

16:43

get all of those and jump

16:46

in. So I started oblivion back

16:48

then in 2008. And I did

16:50

not, actually I completed it in

16:52

2018 January. So it was about

16:54

nine years to get 100% achievements.

16:56

Oh, is that all? Yeah, that's

16:58

also for playthrough. It's like for

17:00

partial play is. What if you're

17:02

playing like 10 hours every day

17:04

and it still took you that

17:06

long? Can you imagine? Who would

17:08

I? You know what? I'd be

17:10

your average fall 76 grinder, right?

17:12

Yeah, exactly. That's how we play.

17:14

Oh, we just got a pug

17:16

in chat. I'm sorry. I got

17:18

distracted. Le, dropping pug in chat.

17:20

How could you do that? Nothing

17:27

like that. The lead drop just made

17:29

the cat stand up and turn its

17:31

head like it was in shock. Like

17:34

what does that sound? Oh, that's brilliant.

17:36

Like most of us playing Bethesda games,

17:38

especially Elder Scrolls ones follow. We tend

17:40

to actually finish the quest a little

17:43

more often. But the whole idea was

17:45

Skyroom and Oblivion and Morwin to be

17:47

fair. What main quest? You know? Yeah.

17:50

Like. We can ignore it. We can

17:52

ignore finding Sean in Fallout 4. You

17:54

know, we can ignore finding dad and

17:57

Fallout 3 for a while. But ultimately,

17:59

a lot of the quests take you

18:01

there. all paths lead that way. You

18:04

know, all roads lead to New Vegas

18:06

and getting stuff done. But when it

18:08

comes to Elders Girls Games, I completed

18:11

the Fighters Guild and other guilds so

18:13

many times, but I never did Dark

18:15

Brotherhood until my fourth playthrough and I

18:17

never did the DLC for Shivering Isles

18:20

until that playthrough. So I finally got

18:22

those in and got all my last

18:24

achievements, cleaned it up. Oh, also all

18:27

the, you know, Dietrich Shrines and such.

18:29

Ooh, they're icky, they do bad things.

18:31

Yes. Yeah. I felt bad being a

18:34

murderer. Yeah, dark brotherhood, especially, right? Yeah,

18:36

exactly. Like, oh, a thief's guilt I

18:38

loved. I did them all the time.

18:41

Like, if there's a character I play

18:43

by default, it's usually a thief. I'm

18:45

okay with stealing, but I'm not okay

18:48

with cold-blooded murder. No murder. Yeah, I

18:50

didn't want to be an assassin, but

18:52

you know what? As I got to

18:54

get older, I got older, I don't

18:57

got older, I don't. So, no, I

18:59

had to finally, everybody's like, it's the

19:01

best quest line, it's the best quest

19:04

line. I'm like, I don't, but I

19:06

don't want to kill people. That little

19:08

boy who's whispering to the bones in

19:11

his room or whatever, it's, it's pretty

19:13

sweet. Yeah, that's a Ventus Arantino in

19:15

Skyrum, absolutely. You know, I've still never

19:18

done this full Skyrum, or Brotherhood Quest

19:20

line. I have, they have only those

19:22

same four factions four factions in all

19:25

elder scrolls games. There are other factions.

19:27

Those are the kind of the archetypical

19:29

factions, and there are others, especially in

19:31

the earlier games. If you play ESO,

19:34

of course, you can probably think of

19:36

hundreds. But Skyram, for instance, kind of

19:38

redefine them. So you have the Fighters

19:41

Guild and all the earlier games, but

19:43

then you've got the companions. And you

19:45

have like the Major's Guild and all

19:48

the earlier games, and now you have

19:50

the College of Winterhold. And the Morat

19:52

Tong is the tribunals kind of dark

19:55

brotherhood, the native assassins guild of Morawind.

19:57

They were those cool like black and

19:59

red. leathers, right? You are an inspiration.

20:02

Do you know that? That's the

20:04

Dark Brotherhood does the Black and

20:06

Red Leathers. More than more Tom.

20:08

There's some more Tom, what did

20:10

they wear? They like a lot of

20:13

the Ashlander gear, so stuff made

20:15

out of chitin, local stuff.

20:17

They're very local stuff, they're

20:20

very local, they're like, they're

20:22

hipster assassins, they'll kill you,

20:24

but they'll do it while

20:26

wearing only locally sourceda stuff.

20:29

So... I played those two. And then of

20:31

course I played a little more about, but

20:33

I'm slacking this week, Andrew. I know I

20:35

got to get it done. I've now

20:37

played four weeks of about 15 hours

20:39

a week. I played maybe two hours

20:41

this week. So next week maybe. I

20:44

was looking at some videos that

20:46

game. It looks really cool. The

20:48

graphics are really pretty. Yeah, it's

20:50

a gorgeous game. It's really pretty.

20:52

They've been doing updates regularly too.

20:55

We just got controller mapping

20:57

finally. Crouch is on the stick where

20:59

it belongs, you know? Sorry, every game should

21:02

have facades to control. There the default. All

21:04

of this just works. It makes Todd happy.

21:06

But he's Todd happy. Still loving it,

21:08

the combat is still loving it. The combat

21:11

is good. The only reason I didn't

21:13

play this week was because doing the

21:15

other games and also, as I mentioned before

21:17

the show, I am kind of reformating

21:19

and redoing a lot of my streaming

21:21

a lot of my streaming stuff. My

21:23

hope is to get back to streaming

21:25

a little more often more often again.

21:27

But you wastelanders has been off the air

21:29

for a year and a half officially now.

21:31

I mean, obviously I've done, we've done like

21:34

three or four theater shows, I've done Fallout

21:36

for Hope events a couple times, done

21:38

the C3 convention and panels, but that's

21:40

not a regular schedule. But when I

21:42

wanted to say jump on and stream

21:44

something like avowed or drag and age, or

21:47

other games I'm playing that aren't fallout,

21:49

fallout, fallout, and because we're a fallout

21:51

focused channel, I felt a little bit,

21:53

no, that's not what this channel is for.

21:55

But I always planned on coming back after

21:57

a break. My original thought was six

21:59

monsters. So the rest of the channel

22:01

that I'll rebranded, I'll rename it. It

22:03

took a little bit longer. Two reasons

22:05

for that. First of all, I was

22:07

a little bit burnt out after streaming

22:09

straight for three and a half years.

22:12

So much. You guys know every, you

22:14

guys could tell. And I needed that

22:16

break. I had slowed down on things.

22:18

Also, rebranding the name. So I wanted

22:20

to be under my name. I have

22:22

two twitch accounts. The one that I

22:24

watched and subscribed to people on. Just

22:26

plain old Jessica Star, already taken. Rude,

22:28

hello, that's my name, you can't have

22:30

it. But they did. And other combinations

22:32

I thought have been taken. So kind

22:34

of deciding on what's the right name

22:36

I want to go under, plus just

22:38

giving it a rest in some space

22:41

in between what I used to do

22:43

and what I'm going to do going

22:45

forward. Well, I've decided I'm going to

22:47

stream under Jessica Star XPino. If you're

22:49

a gamer, if you're an RPG player,

22:51

you're an RPG player, you're an RPG

22:53

player. You know, you know, you know,

22:55

you're an RPG player, you know, you

22:57

know, you know, you know, you know,

22:59

you know, you know, you know, you

23:01

know, you know, you know, you know,

23:03

you know, you know, you know, you

23:05

know, you know, you're, you're, you're an,

23:07

you're an, you're an, you're an, you're

23:09

an, you're an, you're an, you're Yeah,

23:12

I thought about 101 too, because I'm

23:14

going to school you. Oh, that'd be

23:16

cool. Because of vault 101, actually. Let's

23:18

be honest. First thing I think of

23:20

when I see 101 is follow three.

23:22

First thing I think of when I

23:24

see 111, is follow three. First thing

23:26

I think when I see 111, is

23:28

basically if I see any number under

23:30

122, I think about a vault. I

23:32

don't know about you. Yeah, me too,

23:34

of course. Except for... Nice. That's pretty

23:36

much what I've been up to what

23:38

I've been up to have been up

23:41

to this week. I've been up to

23:43

this week. This week. A lot of

23:45

what I've been up to this week.

23:47

A lot of what I've been up

23:49

to this week. A lot of what

23:51

I've been up to this week. I've

23:53

been up to this week. I've been

23:55

up to this week. Changing of my

23:57

OBS getting new sound alerts set up

23:59

all that fun stuff. So how about

24:01

you? I know we got some feedback

24:03

to get into so I want to

24:05

hear about your gameplay first and I'll

24:07

give you a chance to talk. Yeah

24:09

that oblivion thing you were talking about

24:12

that's actually from Bethesda that's actually doing

24:14

that the oblivion remaster remake. It's remakester.

24:16

That is an official Bethesda thing. It's

24:18

going to be official, but rumors have

24:20

it that another studio... virtuous studios is

24:22

working on it. So while they would

24:24

have had a lot of input on

24:26

it, it'll be another studio actually crafting

24:28

it. Well, interesting. And the SkyBlivion Project,

24:30

which is the fan-made one, does still

24:32

exist and should be out to their

24:34

saying by the end of the year.

24:36

And that looks awesome too. Did Todd's

24:38

role change a lot when the Microsoft

24:41

acquisition happened? His role at Bethesda didn't

24:43

change a lot with the Microsoft acquisition,

24:45

except I think maybe in two ways.

24:47

A lot of interviews with people who

24:49

over the last, say, seven, eight years

24:51

have left with those stuff for various

24:53

reasons. Moving on, retiring, and interviews, they've

24:55

talked about how with the studio growing

24:57

from 100 people when Skyram released to

24:59

400 when Fallout 36 came out to,

25:01

I don't know what are there at

25:03

now, 450 or so over the last

25:05

while, Todd is just a little less

25:07

available. So his role changed in that

25:10

the studios just grown so much. They've

25:12

got locations in Dallas, in Austin. in

25:14

the Rockville, Maryland, the original location, and

25:16

then of course up in Montreal with

25:18

BGS Montreal. So he's got four studios,

25:20

a lot of places to be in

25:22

talk to, and when something grows, your

25:24

role changes. But the other thing that

25:26

may be affected a little bit was

25:28

possibly with the passing of Robert Altman.

25:30

I'm not sure, but I think, you

25:32

know, losing that leadership at Zenimax, Bethesda,

25:34

like the overall studio, might have changed

25:36

some responsibilities too, you would think. But

25:38

one good thing with Xbox with Todd

25:41

is that Todd is still. mostly just

25:43

in charge of Bethesda Game Studios. They

25:45

can take care of, you know, Phil

25:47

can do the other stuff, you know,

25:49

there's still a guy in charge. And

25:51

they're not, you know, pulling marionette strings,

25:53

they're kind of letting them operate as

25:55

they used to. As far as we

25:57

know, yeah. Of course, there's always going

25:59

to be some corporate overlord intervention. But

26:01

at this point, as far as we

26:03

know, Bethesda Game Studios is doing the

26:05

game studios is doing their thing. And

26:07

so just naturally, like things have gotten

26:10

bigger and bigger, so the roles change.

26:12

But you just mentioned the TV show.

26:14

I was seriously just about to ask.

26:16

Like, this TV show, this was not

26:18

the first attempt to bring fallout to

26:20

the screen, correct? Were there other, like,

26:22

craziest sort of project? Like, wasn't there

26:24

a fallout movie pitch or something? Way

26:26

back in the day. Yeah, Todd has

26:28

mentioned that multiple studios production companies brought

26:30

him ideas, but they never accepted them.

26:32

Like none of the past ideas ever

26:34

got close to being made until this

26:36

one. with Jonathan Nolan. And what changed

26:38

the writing was just better? They just

26:41

finally nailed it. Yeah, I think they

26:43

could see eye to eye. I think

26:45

Todd likes the pitch. Cool. I just

26:47

bored the other day and flipped the

26:49

show on just to have someone in

26:51

the background while I'm doing other things.

26:53

And then quickly realized that I stopped

26:55

doing the other thing. It was just

26:57

sitting watching the show. I mean, that's

26:59

a good show, right? It can pull

27:01

you in every time. It does every

27:03

damn time. Lucy's just so darn charming.

27:05

She is. She's okidoki. And just seeing

27:07

this new ghoul content, I can see

27:10

it nodding back towards the TV show

27:12

a little bit too. They definitely are

27:14

with the ghoul content. The fix or

27:16

whatever that's called, like, that kind of

27:18

seems like maybe the same sort of

27:20

thing that the ghoul was... was huffing

27:22

and the yeah I don't have that

27:24

leading in that I don't want them

27:26

to retroactively change how goals work but

27:28

bringing that in yeah that is definitely

27:30

a nod to the show the idea

27:32

that goals are taking Kim's to keep

27:34

their humanity to not go fully feral

27:36

and the fix itself and we just

27:39

thought that you know they just took

27:41

him just to have a have a

27:43

good time right I mean because they

27:45

can't anything feral from setting it. Come

27:47

set again. I think in the case

27:49

of ghouls like Hancock, that's definitely the

27:51

case. But, you know, it's kind of

27:53

like if you get a really high

27:55

tolerance, you know, if a ghoul can

27:57

handle more camps without really affecting them.

27:59

the same? The whole idea of like if

28:01

you have to drink a lot more to get drunk,

28:03

you have to take a lot more to feel

28:06

something, it could make sense that some goals

28:08

could do that. But that really wasn't something

28:10

that they put in the games much as

28:12

far as I know of, until of course

28:14

with Hancock, that was just his personality and

28:16

then the goal has that too. It's

28:18

not necessarily a cool thing. It's just

28:20

that their bodies can take the damage, you

28:22

know what I mean? Yeah, they handle things differently,

28:25

exactly. might be a ghoul. Keith

28:27

Richards is a ghoul. Keith Richards

28:29

is definitely a ghoul and I

28:31

hope he keeps taking those drugs

28:33

to keep his humanity. I don't

28:36

want to ferrel Keith Richards

28:38

out there. Yes, exactly. Let's

28:40

see, other gameplay. Let's see, I

28:42

did some shelter and I finally get

28:44

to the point where I got a

28:46

few good weapons in my new survival

28:49

vault. to the point where I can

28:51

take down most attacks and everything.

28:53

I'm not really losing a lot

28:55

of people and many battles anymore.

28:57

And in fact, I was giving,

28:59

you know, like the Daily Objectives,

29:02

there was one that was like,

29:04

stop 12 Mulratt infestations before they

29:06

spread and you get a Mr.

29:08

Handy robot and like, oh shit,

29:10

that's great. I need one of

29:12

those. I would do anything for

29:14

Mr. Handy, you know how that

29:16

is, yeah, because they're the best. they

29:18

are the best. And so I was

29:20

like sitting there hoping that the rushing

29:23

would fail, but I was just like

29:25

taking one room and just rushing them

29:27

over and over, going to see their

29:29

happiness levels like dropping them, like,

29:32

consistently as I'm making them rush

29:34

over and over and over again. But

29:36

I finally got, you know, the Morat

29:39

attacks taking care of, it was funny

29:41

because like, like, had enough good weapons

29:43

on them, like, as the first Morat

29:45

was sticking up out of the ground,

29:47

they were all falling. Finally, the only

29:49

thing that is the danger anymore is the

29:52

fires, because it's not like you can

29:54

upgrade your fire extinguisher. The only way

29:56

to do that is to add more

29:58

people to the room. You can't... can upgrade

30:00

that extinguisher. Hey man, that's

30:02

a good idea. Come on, get

30:05

with it. Level two extinguisher, that

30:07

would be awesome. Because the fires

30:09

really are the only real danger

30:11

to me anymore until like the

30:13

death clause starts spawning when I get

30:15

50 dwellers. I'm at like 38 or so

30:17

right now I'm not one. But you know,

30:19

always having a good time with shelter.

30:21

Let's see what else did I play?

30:23

We mentioned the ghoul stuff a little

30:26

bit. I didn't know. I went ahead and

30:28

did the whole like... I thought it was

30:30

gonna be this huge quest line,

30:32

it only turned out to be

30:34

like a quest and a half basically.

30:37

I took an old roundtable character,

30:39

I took an old

30:42

roundtable character, or like my main,

30:44

you know, 76 character. King, if you

30:46

remember, King is now a ghoul.

30:48

Yeah, I remember King for sure,

30:50

right with the torchbee steers. So

30:53

what's going on? So Andrew, sorry,

30:55

I've got to stop and I've got

30:57

to break in here. Have you moved,

30:59

like are you in a different location

31:01

or something for the last five minutes

31:04

or so because you were breaking up

31:06

a lot more? No, but weather might be

31:08

coming in. I've not moved, but weather

31:10

might be moving in. So I don't

31:12

know if we need to transition to

31:15

feedback or something for a little bit,

31:17

maybe. feedback this week. You should

31:19

be listening to that fine, right? Am I

31:21

breaking up for you at all,

31:23

Andrew? No, you started great. Okay,

31:25

then feedback this week we've got feedback

31:28

coming in from Sullior, from

31:30

Will, from Strata Blaster, and

31:32

from Lee. So let's jump in

31:34

and we're going to start with

31:36

Sullior's feedback, of course, Sullior and

31:38

Pyro. We'll see who we actually hear

31:41

from this week. What's up everyone?

31:43

This is Pyro Anderson. I'm getting

31:45

kind of comfortable in this guy's

31:47

house. Trust me, I know. You're

31:49

leaving your beer bottles and used

31:52

blunts all over the place. Those

31:54

are souvenirs. Trust me, you'll miss

31:56

me when I'm gone. I don't

31:58

know about that. Anyway. After the

32:00

hell I went through to get

32:02

to this place, I wasn't exactly

32:05

looking forward to lending a helping

32:07

hand to these people. But, whatever.

32:10

I gotta say, why the hell is

32:12

everyone in this vault so fucking rude?

32:14

I go talk to Oberlin like Hugo

32:16

asked me to, and he had

32:18

an attitude. Act like he had

32:20

no time for me whatsoever, and

32:23

was just trying to do everything

32:25

he could get rid of me.

32:27

He directs me to talk to three

32:29

ghouls that are down in this atrium

32:31

area. And even as I walk up

32:34

to them to offer my help, one

32:36

of them talks about how rude I

32:38

am for eavesdropping. Hadn't even been there

32:40

two seconds yet. So these three ghouls

32:42

all have their own tasks that they

32:45

want you to do, because apparently

32:47

they can't do them themselves.

32:49

The first one was finding some

32:51

ghoul named Alfie that apparently

32:53

had gone feral, easy enough. Killed

32:56

plenty of feral ghouls in my time,

32:58

so this wasn't a big deal. Artist

33:00

Part was finding his key card, but

33:03

it was right there where this red

33:05

toolbox was directly under a light, so

33:07

it's almost like they were telling you

33:09

where it was. And in the room, and

33:12

he's on the other side, one shot did

33:14

the trick. Poor guy. I read his journal.

33:16

He knew what was going on. That's

33:18

gotta be the worst. The next part

33:20

was finding what was going on in

33:22

this generator room. Apparently there were some

33:24

noises in there. The thing that got

33:27

me about this is they're all ghouls,

33:29

right? They're immune to radiation. Why the

33:31

hell couldn't they check this out themselves?

33:33

I, for one, am not a ghoul. Although

33:35

I do have this lucky perk called what

33:37

rats that gets rid of my radiation, but

33:40

still, not happy. They could have done

33:42

this shit themselves. Turned out, it was a

33:44

bunch of radroaches and some pipeses

33:46

at burst. That was pretty easy.

33:48

Really, they could have done that

33:50

themselves. And the final thing on the

33:52

honey-do list is to eliminate a bunch

33:55

of rad rats. Again, I don't know

33:57

why they couldn't do this themselves.

33:59

Rad- rats are one of the

34:01

easiest enemies to get rid of next

34:03

to the rat roaches. One thing I

34:06

will say though is that I wish

34:08

that they had crafting benches here in

34:10

the atrium where those ghouls were that

34:13

gave me these quests. I picked up

34:15

so much stuff that I wish I

34:17

could just scrap it right then and

34:19

there but no. They do have crafting

34:22

benches in this vault, they're just not

34:24

the easiest to find. After telling Oberlin

34:26

that I was done babysitting the people

34:29

in the vault, I went back and

34:31

talked to Hugo. He was looking for

34:33

this key that's for this safe that

34:36

was within arms reach of where he

34:38

was sitting Okay, so in order to

34:40

find the key I need to figure

34:42

out where Cassie put it So searching

34:45

through Hugo and Cassie's room I found

34:47

Cassie's journal and it mentions this Hidden

34:49

area behind a waterfall At first the

34:52

door didn't want to open but I

34:54

figured maybe hitting it will do the

34:56

trick A couple of bashes with my

34:58

gun didn't do it, but shooting it

35:01

did. Funny, I don't know why. And

35:03

inside I find Cassie herself, who seems

35:05

to be in a coma. She is

35:08

also a loss like Hugo, but there's

35:10

not much there. And she actually had

35:12

the key on her body. After I

35:15

take the key, Hugo comes in and

35:17

starts screaming at me, telling me to

35:19

back away from her, and I'm like,

35:21

dude, do you want the fucking key

35:24

or not? That's what you asked me

35:26

to get. And we argued for a

35:28

little bit, but he calmed down. And

35:31

so he wanted me to go grab

35:33

the blueprints out of the safe in

35:35

his office, no problem. Run up there,

35:37

and after I grabbed the blueprints, I

35:40

just happened to see that he has

35:42

his journal in there as well. I

35:44

take a quick peek on a couple

35:47

of people. Who does that hiring hit

35:49

men? Whatever. Somebody must really pissed him

35:51

off. I take the blueprints back to

35:54

him in front of the waterfall and

35:56

mention that and he... tells me to

35:58

mind my own business, but yeah, whatever.

36:00

I'm not scared of him. Then he

36:03

starts spouting some bullshit about replacing parts

36:05

on a ship. If you replace enough

36:07

parts, is it a new ship? Uh,

36:10

what? Is he planning on doing this

36:12

with people too? That's kind of the

36:14

impression that I got. Really weird. But

36:16

he wanted me to take these blueprints

36:19

to this weather station on the clear

36:21

other end of the skyline valley area.

36:23

On the way there I ran into

36:26

a few groups of enemies including super

36:28

mutants and then also a freaking scorch

36:30

beast. What are scorch beast doing down

36:33

here? Anyway, made my way there and

36:35

had to deal with a few robo

36:37

brains but they weren't too bad. Got

36:39

inside and went up to the lab

36:42

and Audrey started screaming at me wondering

36:44

who the hell I am also. These

36:46

people have no manners. Once I told

36:49

her who I was and what I

36:51

was doing there, she wanted me to

36:53

go find this part for the weather

36:55

station that she needed. Gotta say I'm

36:58

getting a little tired being everybody's errand

37:00

boy. So the part that's needed is

37:02

at the Skyline Valley Welcome Center. Go

37:05

inside and I meet this guy named

37:07

Kevin who's about ready to crap himself.

37:09

He thought I was there to kill

37:12

him. He's all like, oh no, don't

37:14

kill me! Yeah, okay. So... He says

37:16

that he has the part that's needed,

37:18

but he locked himself out of where

37:21

it is. He lives there and he's

37:23

been there apparently since before the bombs

37:25

dropped. So the area that he's locked

37:28

out of now is apparently occupied by

37:30

a bunch of weirdos. This guy is

37:32

pretty weird himself and he's calling them

37:34

weirdos. All right. So there is another

37:37

way down there so we go underneath

37:39

in this tunnel and it turns out

37:41

it was mothman cultists Here's where the

37:44

fun starts. So he wants me to

37:46

kill them all on my way there

37:48

though. There were some Brad Roaches and

37:51

mole rats, those aren't a big deal,

37:53

but apparently they're to him because he

37:55

can't even handle his own shadow. Took

37:57

care of everything, no problem, and he

38:00

gets me the part I need. I

38:02

gotta say though, this guy has a

38:04

lot of empty beer bottles in his

38:07

area and I'm all for that. So

38:09

I take the part back to Audrey

38:11

and she has me installed because of

38:13

course I know what the hell I'm

38:16

doing with this thing. And as soon

38:18

as I do, Hugo comes in. Apparently

38:20

his wife has been kidnapped by the

38:23

leader of this cult who just happens

38:25

to be the person he put a

38:27

hit on. Oh, by the way, this

38:30

person is also a very close friend

38:32

of his daughter Audrey. Coincidence? I don't

38:34

think so. So it turns out that

38:36

Hugo tried to get rid of Alex

38:39

because he thought that she was a

38:41

bad influence on Audrey. She was a

38:43

hindrance on the family business and needed

38:46

to be eliminated. Again, this guy's a

38:48

freaking mob boss. I don't know who

38:50

else thinks and acts like this. Oh,

38:52

I gotta kill this person because the

38:55

family business needs to succeed and it

38:57

won't do this, but if they're in

38:59

the way, I gotta take care of

39:02

them and I don't care who dies.

39:04

Oh, by the way, screw my daughter's

39:06

happiness as long as the family business

39:09

is flourishing. She'll come around, I know

39:11

she will. She'll see what's best for

39:13

business for business. God, these people, I

39:15

swear. So, Hugo is wanting me to

39:18

infiltrate this cult and eliminate them. So

39:20

I'm the one who's going to be

39:22

doing a hit now. But we'll save

39:25

that for next time. So, until then,

39:27

hey, why don't you come wrap this

39:29

up? So now I'm the person doing

39:31

your honey-do list. All right, fine. So,

39:34

yeah, there's really not a whole lot

39:36

for me to say, after this. There

39:38

wasn't much. It was... Just a lot

39:41

of small quest talking and soap opera

39:43

drama. But I do want to point

39:45

out that it was really cool hearing

39:48

West Johnson voicing Kevin. Yeah, he's done

39:50

a few voices in fallout 76 like

39:52

the robots and mainly the protectrons. And

39:54

he's done a few other random voices.

39:57

But yeah, this was very clearly West

39:59

Johnson's. In the lack of a better

40:01

phrase, normal voice. Well, mostly. So yeah,

40:04

that was nice. Definitely looking forward to

40:06

seeing more action in the next few

40:08

quests. And I am going to be

40:10

running around more with my ghoul character

40:13

because by the time this comes out

40:15

I will have ghoulf items. So anyway,

40:17

until next time I will see everybody

40:20

in the wasteland. Well, that was awesome.

40:22

Thank you. So do you are. I

40:24

like the little fun fact at the

40:26

end there, the tidbit about West Johnson

40:29

doing a voice here. I know that

40:31

he is very in tune with, you

40:33

know, voice actors and video games. So

40:36

I don't follow that at all. I

40:38

wouldn't be able to tell who's who.

40:40

Who's West Johnson? He's done characters, he's

40:43

mochronin, you know, we've talked about it

40:45

a bit, mochronin, a lot of the

40:47

protectrons. You remind me and then I

40:49

hear his voice, I'm like, oh, that

40:52

guy. Yeah, exactly. But so what's Johnson

40:54

is 76, he has been all over,

40:56

has a lot of the protectron. Everyone

40:59

from Mr. Fluffy to all the vendor

41:01

bots, to all the vendor bots, in

41:03

76, would be insult butt. So what

41:05

about his voice makes him a good

41:08

robot? You know, he's just got a

41:10

really wide range and he's done so

41:12

many characters over the years that I

41:15

think when they needed for Protectrons he

41:17

stepped up to do that, you know.

41:19

I believe he did. I believe he

41:22

did Protectrons in previous games too. Infant

41:24

for he did Protectrons there, drinking buddy,

41:26

all of them. So definitely. some sentry

41:28

bots. I forgot about drinking buddy, that's

41:31

hilarious. Sorry, I just, yeah, you remember

41:33

that class, I love that one, right?

41:35

Got to get a cold one. Forever.

41:38

The best, all the protectrons in 76

41:40

are pretty much him. But he is

41:42

also Kevin Harris, finally. And I think

41:44

he did Dell, I think he's the

41:47

voice of Dell in Nuka World on

41:49

Tour. So he's always slipping in a

41:51

voice here and a voice here and

41:54

there. If you hear someone and you

41:56

hear someone and you're like, and you're

41:58

like, I feel like, I feel like,

42:01

I feel like, I recognize, I recognize,

42:03

I recognize, I recognize, I recognize, I

42:05

recognize, I recognize, I recognize, I think

42:07

there's a better than 50-50 chance it

42:10

could be West. It's West. So taking

42:12

a listen to his feedback, let's see,

42:14

what did Pyro bring up on this

42:17

one? Like if he complained about being

42:19

an errand boy? And I'm like, that's

42:21

what video games are. You are the

42:23

errand boy. You are the person who

42:26

does stuff. Yeah, Hero is just another

42:28

name for Aaron Boy. For sure. A

42:30

lot of these. Talk about a honey-do

42:33

list. But yeah, so he mentioned first

42:35

about what rads, about how he's not

42:37

a ghoul, but he's got what rads,

42:40

and that's kind of cool. Fourth wall

42:42

breaking from Pira there. Also, he mentioned

42:44

Alfie. I didn't say this last week,

42:46

but that's another kind of English name,

42:49

isn't it? Like, Alfie isn't really a

42:51

nickname here around. Yeah, that's very British,

42:53

right. But he's also right about the

42:56

assault's family. Both Hugo and Audrey. I

42:58

mean, they're just, they're a little bit

43:00

abrupt. They're kind of rude. Oh, yeah.

43:02

He was like, hey, go find this

43:05

key. And when you find the keys,

43:07

what the fuck are you going? What

43:09

are you doing? What are you doing?

43:12

What are you doing? What are you

43:14

doing? What are you doing? What are

43:16

you doing? What are you doing? I'm

43:19

trying to say. as he levels up.

43:21

He's maturing. But the whole mob boss,

43:23

I mean, the way that he's developed

43:25

as a character is very much the

43:28

whole manipulative overseers. what we're getting from

43:30

Hugo. The pulling strings and orchestrating machinations

43:32

and that and his family just as

43:35

much as anyone else. Like Audrey herself

43:37

says, sometimes I feel more like an

43:39

employee than a daughter when you're talking

43:41

to her. And that's definitely part of

43:44

his character. So I can see that

43:46

the way that Pyros contacts, the whole

43:48

mob boss thing, that makes sense. But

43:51

I think of him as the Machiavellian

43:53

overseer. And we're going to find out

43:55

soon just how deep those plans run,

43:58

I think, because we've only got a

44:00

few more quest left. I'm just blanking.

44:02

Machiavellians like watching, just shaking of the

44:04

snow globe and fucking stuff up just

44:07

to watch the fucked up stuff happen.

44:09

No, Machiavellian is more like planned plotting.

44:11

Semi-cinister plotting, where you put all these

44:14

pieces in motion, but ultimately you're the

44:16

puppet master. A house is not a

44:18

pit at the latter. What is that

44:20

quote from? That's a game of Thrones

44:23

though. That's really good. So let's see.

44:25

What else did he mention? I think

44:27

that about covers it. I like his

44:30

comments about Kevin calling other people weirdos

44:32

too. Kevin, I don't know. He's a

44:34

good dude. He's been alone too long,

44:37

I think. And it is pretty funny.

44:39

He's there in his little, his Ranger

44:41

outfit and his socks are pulled up

44:43

to his calves. Quite the outfit. That's

44:46

very cute. That's good. Thank you, sir.

44:48

Okay, let's jump in. Next we're going

44:50

to get some feedback coming in from

44:53

Will. Hey Will. Hello follow-up friends, Will

44:55

here to talk about the latest roundtable

44:57

quest with my character Danger, although I

44:59

almost didn't send any end because I

45:02

felt like there wasn't really too much

45:04

to add with these But I figured

45:06

since you know I missed last week

45:09

I would just send something but mostly

45:11

yeah, these are very very straightforward and

45:13

hardly any combat. You guys talked about

45:16

on the show some, you know, I

45:18

didn't know if I would have too

45:20

much to add that's different from just

45:22

saying how you're supposed to run the

45:25

quest. You know, I went, I met

45:27

Hugo who needs like my help and

45:29

you know, the blueprint for the malfunctioning

45:32

weather machine and of course, there's search

45:34

Cassie's room. I saw that, you know,

45:36

read her journal and they had that

45:38

one thing in there just about her

45:41

daughter and Hugo having, she didn't like

45:43

the solution he had for her, which

45:45

I didn't know what that meant at

45:48

the time. Later on, I guess that

45:50

meant she, he had tried to, off.

45:52

Alexa? What's that name? But her diary

45:55

led us to the waterfall back there.

45:57

It was her sanctuary. So of course

45:59

I went in there. You guys were

46:01

talking about not being able to find

46:04

the button. I wasn't looking for a

46:06

button, but when I saw that broken

46:08

fuse box, I was thinking I needed

46:11

to find a fuse. So I was

46:13

thinking I needed to find a fuse.

46:15

You know, just tell him about the

46:17

blue prince. He asked if there's... Anything

46:20

else you discovered, I figured danger is

46:22

he's just the dude that follows the

46:24

rules, does what he has to do,

46:27

gets things done. As I said, so

46:29

he's like, I'm here to get paid,

46:31

not to meddle on your business yet.

46:34

And that's when he went on his

46:36

little diet tribe about the boat, and

46:38

I had the danger, had the option

46:40

for low intelligence, if you have one

46:43

or less, and he's like, boat, you

46:45

got a boat? You got a boat,

46:47

you got a little nooid. So I

46:50

went on over there to meet Audrey.

46:52

I just followed that road west since

46:54

it was on that road. And again,

46:56

not much to shoot there. I ran

46:59

across a grand total of one lost,

47:01

three thrashers, and two robot brains before

47:03

I got in there to meet Audrey.

47:06

She was sort of dismissive of me,

47:08

or dangerous, as he was just a

47:10

minion to be played with, or whatever,

47:12

which I guess, you know, Danger actually

47:15

doesn't even mind that too much. But

47:17

she sends Danger On over to the

47:19

Shenandoah Visitor Center. Nothing eventful along the

47:22

way, although once he gets here, he

47:24

meets what might be my favorite character

47:26

in Fallout 76, I think. I love

47:29

me some Kevin. He was a fun

47:31

little guy, I thought. He sends us

47:33

down there, kill a couple of radroaches,

47:35

a couple of mole rats, you go

47:38

to that room, and none of the

47:40

cultists even move when you open that

47:42

door. So I just did what Ray

47:45

did through a couple grenades, picked the

47:47

rest off with my laser rifle, and

47:49

done. Kevin escorts me to his little

47:51

bachelor's bunker there, and I grabbed the

47:54

part and back to Audrey, where... I

47:56

mentioned that I had to kill some

47:58

cultists. You know, she didn't know of

48:01

any cults around there. I think, yeah,

48:03

yeah. And, you know, praying some moth

48:05

man or something in someone named Alex,

48:08

and then she seemed a little bit

48:10

shocked like that, as if she knew

48:12

a person before. And that's for that

48:14

question. She got a legendary weapon, looks

48:17

like a furious, some kind of furious

48:19

railway rifle. And yeah, I had it

48:21

there too, where Hugo comes running in,

48:24

and it sort of ushers you straight

48:26

up. and like try to exit real

48:28

quick. Hopefully they would let me revisit

48:30

that scene when I logged on again,

48:33

but I didn't want to accidentally lose

48:35

it. So I just sat there and

48:37

watched it and actually recorded the last

48:40

few minutes of video play so I

48:42

could refresh myself when I got to

48:44

do the next quest. But then I

48:47

went all the way back over there

48:49

to the house. I think this time,

48:51

the thrashers were back out or no,

48:53

the thrashers were there when I came

48:56

back out of the visitor center. So

48:58

those were the only other. things that

49:00

had to be eaten. And then there

49:03

was nothing again when I went back

49:05

over to the house. Where Oberlin, Sangeon,

49:07

those three, really, really just meaningless quests.

49:09

I don't know. It's just, you know,

49:12

yeah, went down, killed the ride rats

49:14

that they didn't know about, patched up

49:16

a couple of pipes, and took out

49:19

poor Alfie there. But they were happy

49:21

and Margaret said he would put in

49:23

a good word for me with Oberlin

49:26

which I guess that's really the point

49:28

of the question you're supposed to prove

49:30

yourself get you and you get in

49:32

good with them. So like I said

49:35

there wasn't really a lot of I

49:37

felt like deviation and much to contribute.

49:39

as far as different way of doing

49:42

the quest and things. The only thing

49:44

that really was different was that the

49:46

fact that they came out with the

49:48

new patch with the ghouls for 76

49:51

this week and they changed some things

49:53

up with that, switched up the perk.

49:55

Point car or the cards how much

49:58

you know the stars on the cards

50:00

how much they do and I had

50:02

a bunch of extra Stars again like

50:05

one on once they switched was bodyguards,

50:07

which I always use anyways I think

50:09

that's only one star now and I

50:11

was all happy at the beginning of

50:14

this roundtable because I was sharing rank

50:16

four bodyguards. I said yeah, you know,

50:18

I was assigned 15 courage so I

50:21

was excited that I got to shy

50:23

Share a high-level card and I couldn't

50:25

really find one that was ranked five

50:27

that I wanted to share But that

50:30

would have been fun, but bodyguards at

50:32

four was fun for me for a

50:34

while But now they switched it to

50:37

rank one and I'm just sharing a

50:39

rank one card and I got 15

50:41

charisma And one of the other card

50:44

is switches they made they swapped around

50:46

what was it life-giver and all that

50:48

stuff, but also loan wanderer that I

50:50

think they made it more useful Like

50:53

I just logged in when I first

50:55

logged in I looked and I was

50:57

curious before I joined the team and

51:00

my damage resistance was at 534 and

51:02

Then you know, but that was just

51:04

within lo and wander a car and

51:06

I think okay. Well, I wonder what

51:09

it's gonna be with the bodyguard so

51:11

I joined a team and it went

51:13

up to 535 so they seem fairly

51:16

equivalent like there's no real loss for

51:18

not being on a team anymore and

51:20

Then a little bit later, I just

51:23

happened to notice again, like when I

51:25

was single, I logged out, logged back

51:27

in again. And my DR is at

51:29

615. I was like, hmm, I wonder

51:32

what it is now. I think I

51:34

had some soups or something working for

51:36

me at this point. And so I

51:39

went to join another team, except this

51:41

one was only, there wasn't quite a

51:43

full team. There were only three of

51:45

us. So it went from 615 and

51:48

dropped down to 608 from joining the

51:50

team. So those are pretty equivalent. Major

51:52

differences I've had in this game. A

51:55

lot more to see. We'll see what

51:57

happens next week. Like I said, not

51:59

too much to dive into deeply there,

52:02

but I still have fun with these,

52:04

even though this one wasn't too difficult.

52:06

I had not done these with my

52:08

main characters. I thought about doing what

52:11

Steve did and do it with my

52:13

main since I didn't do it with

52:15

my main characters. I thought about doing

52:18

what Steve did and do it with

52:20

my main since I didn't, didn't, hadn't

52:22

done them. But that is it for

52:24

me. See you in the wasteland. I

52:27

can't kill stuff now, high level, the

52:29

low level, Jesus will. Well, good luck.

52:31

I need to do more research like

52:34

him and to see what perks have

52:36

changed. I think it sucks, Will, that

52:38

you were so proud of being able

52:41

to stare a high level card and

52:43

then they took that honor away from

52:45

you. Slap in the face. Right, you're

52:47

risen it with a... 15, you're like,

52:50

yeah, big man on campus, I'm sharing

52:52

this first card and now it's only

52:54

a one. Oh, that states. It's kind

52:57

of like when you have the best

52:59

headwear in the wasteland, you know, a

53:01

parade, and then suddenly everybody devalues it

53:03

for whatever reason, the game suddenly makes

53:06

it not worth as much. And you

53:08

like, no, this will not stand. And

53:10

you see them and the garbage. Exactly.

53:13

But yeah, you know, there have been

53:15

some interesting changes to part cards. And

53:17

while that was a while ago, we're

53:19

still re-evaluating, and now with the whole

53:22

ghoul update, there are even more things

53:24

coming down, you know, all the new

53:26

perhaps people evaluating it. So going over

53:29

his feedback, let's see. So he said

53:31

he doesn't have a lot to talk

53:33

about, but I think he hit a

53:36

lot, don't you? Yeah, he hit a

53:38

lot of good points. First of all,

53:40

I apologize for him setting off everyone's

53:42

A-L-E-X-A. He didn't mean to do. He

53:45

didn't mean to do. where the game

53:47

tells you this is damaged it looks

53:49

like it looks like it might come

53:52

apart with a single hit or something

53:54

we're all looking for buttons we're looking

53:56

for a fuse good choice well but

53:58

yeah yeah I think like that is

54:01

actually a very realistic kind of stumbling

54:03

block in the game because you get

54:05

frustrated enough that you punch it you

54:07

just like stupid thing and you shoot

54:09

it anyway and that's what it takes to

54:12

open it so you're like oh I knew that

54:14

would happen yes I meant to do that I

54:16

was just taking my time because I didn't want

54:18

to be violent oh comment on Kevin to a

54:20

fun little guy I agree you know he might

54:22

be a little weird favorite character in

54:25

76 that's an interesting topic too

54:27

say that about Kevin Yeah, he

54:29

said it might be his favorite

54:31

character in 76. I definitely thought

54:33

he was a fun little guy,

54:35

but favorite. That is, that is

54:37

a high honors, honestly. I think a

54:39

lot of people in our group like

54:42

Rose, a lot. I mean, I think a

54:44

lot of people in our group

54:46

also don't like Rose a lot. Yeah,

54:48

she's, she's, she's that woman you

54:50

hate to love or love to hate one

54:52

of the two. Yeah, she's very, very

54:54

divisive. Let's see, he ran

54:56

into... Also not a woman, also

54:59

a robot. Yeah, that's also

55:01

a robot. Yeah, but honestly,

55:03

I mean, I like Rose's

55:05

personality a lot. I think she's fun.

55:07

He ran into Thrashers,

55:10

which is cool. I'm glad someone

55:12

else ran into Thrashers.

55:14

Did someone else ran

55:16

into Thrashers? Did someone

55:18

else ran into Thrashers?

55:20

Turkey's one there? Did you

55:23

have any other comments on the

55:25

way? Yeah. I like this low intelligence

55:27

option. Speaking of doing things differently,

55:29

next up we have Strata Blaster

55:31

coming in with Isaiah. Let's see

55:34

how, you know, another scientist to

55:36

handle some of these quests and

55:38

how he deals with Hugo. The

55:40

Chronicles of Isaiah Pollocks, part

55:43

7. I have a problem and I don't

55:45

know what to do. I've spent my

55:47

entire above-ground time post-war

55:49

traveling the wastes eliminating

55:51

this threatened that... Collecting

55:53

every scrap of used molten material I could

55:55

lay my hands on and using all of my

55:58

combined experiences to do what I thought. was

56:00

going to return my little piece of

56:02

the world back to the way it

56:04

was before the bombs dropped. The one

56:06

thing that seems to be preventing my

56:08

efforts from having any effect whatsoever is

56:11

the absolute apathy that almost every person

56:13

I have met with regards to

56:15

trying to change things for the better.

56:17

The general majority of these wretched wasteland

56:19

wanderers feel that there is no going

56:22

back and that this new reality is

56:24

the new normal. There is nowhere more evident

56:26

of this than the malaise. I've seen here

56:28

at vault 63. The people here, nothing

56:30

more than sentient monsters awaiting

56:33

their inevitable fall from grace into

56:35

madness, seem to be perfectly content

56:37

with their lot in life. They

56:39

are burned and scarred beyond all

56:41

recognition as they race headlong into

56:43

the abyss of violence and blood

56:46

thirstiness. They don't comprehend that

56:48

the decline is inescapable, or that

56:50

none of them are immune to the

56:52

vicious and painful dissent. I struggle every

56:54

day with decision to work with them.

56:56

to live beside these ghouls knowing what

56:58

their ultimate fate will be? Is it right

57:01

to continue to let them go on

57:03

or would it be better to accelerate

57:05

the inevitable and put them all out of their

57:07

misery? It may sound selfish or even

57:09

bigoted, but at this point are they

57:11

even human anymore? Sometimes I

57:13

wonder when I am alone on the

57:16

surface and it's quiet what goes through

57:18

the mind when one becomes gulified. What

57:20

is the mental process that occurs

57:22

as one's skin becomes brittle and

57:24

hard and when facial features eventually

57:26

fall away leaving open orifices where

57:28

noses and ears used to be? The

57:30

level of denial and fear must be

57:33

overwhelming, but then come to terms with

57:35

the transformation must be an excruciating journey.

57:37

I do not understand how they have

57:39

hope. I do not understand how they

57:41

live their day-to-day lives, knowing that they

57:43

will essentially live forever and know in their

57:46

heart of hearts that they will never be

57:48

normal again. I do not envy them their journey.

57:50

I do not envy mine either. I

57:52

have traveled alongside them, lived with

57:54

them, and watched them devolve

57:57

into feral monstrosities. I have

57:59

been blasted by radiation to the

58:01

point of sickness. I have consumed many

58:03

of the chems. The schools themselves now

58:05

use to prolong their very sanity. The

58:07

radiation permeates and affects us all, and

58:09

I can only pray that it never

58:12

happens to me." Isaiah Pollack's. After my

58:14

discussion was stole, it's about the current

58:16

situation in vault 63, and reluctantly offering

58:18

my services to the dutiful Baltic soldier

58:20

that I am. He tasked me with

58:23

revisiting Chief Oberlin and performing a few

58:25

errands in order to help out and

58:27

familiarize myself with the vault. We also

58:29

spoke about retrieving the blueprints for his

58:31

weather device. They are securely stored somewhere

58:34

and I will need to track down

58:36

the key that his wife Cassidy is

58:38

hidden. Hugo apparently lacks any trust in

58:40

the residence of the vault and since

58:42

he is blind cannot look for it

58:44

himself. Where should I look for this

58:47

key? I questioned with a confused look

58:49

on my face. I am certain my

58:51

dear Cassidy will have left some clues

58:53

as to whereabouts of the key," he

58:55

replied, looking for Lauren saddened at the

58:58

mention of her name. She was always

59:00

writing things down and keeping notes. You

59:02

can start by looking in our quarters

59:04

upstairs. Notting my agreement, I turned and

59:06

left the office, and I headed upstairs

59:09

to Stolt's quarters. Upon entering the room,

59:11

I began a search for anything that

59:13

might lead me in the right direction.

59:15

There was a note about some party

59:17

and another note written to Hugo. I

59:19

couldn't help but read both knowing the

59:22

personal nature of the notes needing to

59:24

understand more about this enigmatic overseer. Finally

59:26

I found Cassidy's journal tucked away in

59:28

the coffee table. Cassidy seemed to be

59:30

a very thoughtful woman and a dutiful

59:33

loving wife, a seemingly odd match for

59:35

the likes of Hugo Stoltz, but not

59:37

completely out of the question I'm used

59:39

as I looked for something in the

59:41

text that I could use to locate

59:43

the key. After a couple of pages

59:46

Cassidy mentioned that she kept the key

59:48

on her person, in a locket she

59:50

wore around her neck. Where are you,

59:52

Cassidy? I whispered as I read on.

59:54

She mentioned a place within the vault

59:57

where she felt safe and described it

59:59

as a water fall. Ha! Gotcha!" I

1:00:01

exclaimed as the location she named I

1:00:03

had seen while roaming around in the

1:00:05

vault. Apparently there was a passage hidden

1:00:08

behind and I quickly turned and headed

1:00:10

that way. I moved through the cavern

1:00:12

to find a hidden chamber locked behind

1:00:14

a door controlled by a panel on

1:00:16

the wall. It didn't work at first

1:00:18

and I was able to work it

1:00:21

open with my combat knife hitting it

1:00:23

more than once after an unsuccessful attempt

1:00:25

or two. was a small examination room

1:00:27

with medical equipment and terminals. I had

1:00:29

once saw a lone patient, a woman,

1:00:32

who I assumed was Cassidy, lying there

1:00:34

in what seemed like a catatonic or

1:00:36

comatose state. I approached her as quietly

1:00:38

as I could not to disturb her

1:00:40

and began to remove the key from

1:00:43

her locket around her neck. As soon

1:00:45

as I had retrieved the key, Stoltz

1:00:47

was behind me berating me and for

1:00:49

being in the room and disturbing his

1:00:51

unconscious spouse. I immediately and reactively drew

1:00:53

my side on pointing it directly into

1:00:56

his face. Don't ever sneak up on

1:00:58

me like that, I barked. You don't

1:01:00

know me. I would just as soon

1:01:02

drop you where you stand, you wrinkly

1:01:04

fuck. I was just doing what you

1:01:07

told me to do. He lifted his

1:01:09

hands in a calming motion and his

1:01:11

tone relaxed. She is merely in a

1:01:13

deep slumber and has been since the

1:01:15

incident. She requires privacy and quiet, he

1:01:17

explained once he had calmed down. I

1:01:20

holered my pistol. and listened as he

1:01:22

explained how repairing the weather machine would

1:01:24

assist in her recovery, and that was

1:01:26

why he needed the blueprints and my

1:01:28

help. He directed me back to his

1:01:31

office to retrieve the plans and then

1:01:33

return to him when I was finished.

1:01:35

Upon returning we spoke about the plans

1:01:37

and how they would need to be

1:01:39

delivered to Audrey, and then had a

1:01:42

brief conversation about how many pieces can

1:01:44

be replaced on something before it becomes

1:01:46

something different. My old philosophy lessons paid

1:01:48

off as I was able to understand

1:01:50

his reference to the ship of thesis

1:01:52

and how it pertained to his wife,

1:01:55

the machine, and everything else that was

1:01:57

going on around here. Once we concluded

1:01:59

our discussion, I immediately started out for

1:02:01

the Hawksville Weather Station. deliver the prince.

1:02:03

When I arrived the place was in

1:02:06

a serious bad way. Whatever happened down

1:02:08

here must have had a giant impact

1:02:10

on the station. I was able to

1:02:12

evade a couple of roaming Robobrain centuries

1:02:14

and went inside. I had no problems

1:02:17

finding Audrey and I handed her the

1:02:19

blueprints. We spoke for a time about

1:02:21

her experiences so far and it seemed

1:02:23

that she had suffered some loss that

1:02:25

was affecting her deeply, something about somebody

1:02:27

named Alex. The way she spoke and

1:02:30

the way her voice trembled at times

1:02:32

led me to believe that her loss

1:02:34

was felt more profoundly than anyone else's.

1:02:36

That I had met so far from

1:02:38

Vault 63. After a long moment she

1:02:41

asked me to retrieve a piece of

1:02:43

equipment she needed from the Shenandoah Visitor

1:02:45

Center. Just what I need, another long

1:02:47

walk to retrieve another trinket I sit

1:02:49

under my breath. She obviously heard me

1:02:51

and she exclaimed that the mechanism was

1:02:54

crucial to the machine's functionality and was

1:02:56

not just some watts consumer electronics gizmo,

1:02:58

but an unique and very technical piece

1:03:00

of kit. Fine, I'll go get it,

1:03:02

I said, and I turned to leave.

1:03:05

The walk to the visitor's center was

1:03:07

fairly uneventful, thankfully, and when I arrived

1:03:09

I could see a low light of

1:03:11

a candle burning inside. This is where

1:03:13

I meet Kevin. Honestly, I was shocked

1:03:16

after speaking to him that he had

1:03:18

managed to live this long. He told

1:03:20

me the part that I was seeking

1:03:22

was in his bunker, but he had

1:03:24

locked himself out due to the building

1:03:26

being infested with cultists, and that if

1:03:29

I could go and get them to

1:03:31

leave. If I did so, he would

1:03:33

gladly give it to me. Sure, no

1:03:35

problem. I'll get him out of here.

1:03:37

I snuck around into a darkened hallway

1:03:40

and peeked around the corner now. I

1:03:42

don't like cultists. These guys are weird.

1:03:44

There were about six or seven of

1:03:46

them and they were armed, but they

1:03:48

were all praying or chanting or doing

1:03:51

something stupid and oblivious to my presence.

1:03:53

Checking my rifle, confirming I had a

1:03:55

full mag, I barged in weapons hot,

1:03:57

I dropped at least three of them

1:03:59

before they even knew it was happening

1:04:01

and two more as they tried to

1:04:04

evade my assault. The last two were

1:04:06

KG running for cover while reloading, but

1:04:08

I was able to gain an advantage

1:04:10

on one, putting a slug... in his

1:04:12

head. It was soon after that the

1:04:15

other fighter, obviously lacking in any kind

1:04:17

of close quarters combat skills, was sent

1:04:19

to the light to join his pals.

1:04:21

Kaven came running in later, thanking me

1:04:23

and quickly putting in his code and

1:04:25

opened the door to his bunker. The

1:04:28

corridor wasn't very long, and there were

1:04:30

some creepy crawlies about which were easily

1:04:32

dispatched, and then we entered his bunker.

1:04:34

It was quite clear that Kevin was

1:04:36

not in a good place emotionally. His

1:04:39

bunker looked like that of a soon-to-be

1:04:41

serial killer. And once I had the

1:04:43

component in my hand, I left quickly

1:04:45

without any long conversations. I probably should

1:04:47

have put him down with the rest

1:04:50

of the cultists. That would have been

1:04:52

the merciful thing to do, that poor

1:04:54

wretch. I don't know. He's made it

1:04:56

this far. Maybe he's got something up

1:04:58

his sleeve. Eh, whatever. After returning to

1:05:00

Audrey later that day, she asked me

1:05:03

to help with the installation of the

1:05:05

part into the console a few rooms

1:05:07

away. She made it worth my while,

1:05:09

though, which was nice. No one has

1:05:11

given me a damn thing for all

1:05:14

this work I've done. At least she

1:05:16

recognized my efforts and rewarded me for

1:05:18

my fine work, even if my attitude

1:05:20

was shitty. It's a pretty red gun.

1:05:22

Ooh! He packed quite a punch, too.

1:05:25

So we'll have to see, but we

1:05:27

can put that the good use later.

1:05:29

I had to return to vault 63

1:05:31

to resupply and I was very curious

1:05:33

about what the security chief needed for

1:05:35

me. I recalled as almost an afterthought

1:05:38

that he had an errand he needed

1:05:40

me to attend to and I felt

1:05:42

a little bad that I had forgotten.

1:05:44

He had asked me to speak to

1:05:46

some of the dwellers about some chores

1:05:49

that needed to be done but of

1:05:51

course the slackers would never do them

1:05:53

so he requested that I get things

1:05:55

handled. I spoke to Margaret first and

1:05:57

she informed me about some trouble in

1:05:59

the lower levels of the vault. Some

1:06:02

pests had infested one area and none

1:06:04

of them could or wanted to exterminate

1:06:06

them. There was also some repair work

1:06:08

that needed to be done and again

1:06:10

nobody really wanted to do it. Finally

1:06:13

after Julio and Lawrence told me the

1:06:15

sad story of their friend Alfie who

1:06:17

had turned feral and had asked to

1:06:19

be locked away in his room. What

1:06:21

a stand-up bunch of friends these are

1:06:24

and a great way to treat a

1:06:26

buddy a buddy. I was... Obviously going

1:06:28

to have to go down there and

1:06:30

clean up all this mess and probably

1:06:32

not receive so much as a thank

1:06:34

you were a pat on the back.

1:06:37

But, again, I need to gain Oberlin's

1:06:39

trust, so off I went. The Rad

1:06:41

Rats were my first obstacle as they

1:06:43

blocked the way to the cooling chambers

1:06:45

where the repairs were needed. They all

1:06:48

went down easily enough. The cooling chamber,

1:06:50

however, was a different story. It was

1:06:52

blistering hot and my Pip Boy clicked

1:06:54

clicked loudly from all the radiation from

1:06:56

all the radiation. A few minutes, though,

1:06:59

and I was able to fix all

1:07:01

the pipes in the room immediately cooled.

1:07:03

Now it was time to pay Alfie

1:07:05

visit and see what the kind of

1:07:07

condition that Sporful was in. I was

1:07:09

met with a locked door that required

1:07:12

a key card, which the morons upstairs

1:07:14

did not tell me about. After several

1:07:16

minutes of searching around, I finally found

1:07:18

a key card, and God, I hoped

1:07:20

it was, and I opened the door

1:07:23

and moved into the chamber where I

1:07:25

found Alf. Old Boy was not in

1:07:27

good shape. He had turned completely feral,

1:07:29

and any sign of who he may

1:07:31

have been was long gone. According to

1:07:33

a note I found, he had been

1:07:36

down here for quite some time, and

1:07:38

none of his jackass friends could bear

1:07:40

to come down here and his jackass

1:07:42

friends could bear to come down here

1:07:44

and his suffering. A few well-placed 45

1:07:47

rounds from my side arm took the

1:07:49

surprise goul down and ended his misery.

1:07:51

I returned to the group who hadn't

1:07:53

even gotten up or moved or moved

1:07:55

in the hour or so I had

1:07:58

been gone. If the rest of the

1:08:00

ghouls in this vault are this lazy,

1:08:02

then Oberlin and Stoltz are really screwed.

1:08:04

I'm sure they had more to say,

1:08:06

but I was so disgusted by them

1:08:08

I just made my way back to

1:08:11

Oberlin. Reaching his office, I told him

1:08:13

about the trio of Dipschitz, the completion

1:08:15

of the assigned tasks and the merciful

1:08:17

euthanizing of poor Alfie. If I could

1:08:19

read his thoughts on his face, which

1:08:22

I could not, I would guess he

1:08:24

was as disgusted as I was. He

1:08:26

then told me about another task he

1:08:28

would like me to take on going

1:08:30

to find Hilda and bringing her back

1:08:33

to vault 63 doing whatever it took

1:08:35

to get her to come with me.

1:08:37

I looked a man straight in the

1:08:39

eye. I am tired. I need a

1:08:41

bed. I need some food. And after

1:08:43

a short sigh... I told him, I'll

1:08:46

head out after I sleep and after

1:08:48

I eat. Let's talk again tomorrow. That

1:08:50

was fantastic. You know, I love that

1:08:52

Isaiah is not afraid to call people

1:08:54

out on their bullshit. Like his point

1:08:57

of view, the way that Sean kind

1:08:59

of puts it forward, is actually, I

1:09:01

think, in the back of a lot

1:09:03

of our heads. The idea that they

1:09:05

have not moved, he's doing this for

1:09:07

the residents, and they have not moved

1:09:10

in the two hours he's been down

1:09:12

there or whatever. The other people in

1:09:14

charge should be disgusted. He gives the

1:09:16

people in charge a little bit of

1:09:18

grace there though, you know, with Oberlin

1:09:21

saying, hey, I'm sorry I have to

1:09:23

put up with this, but then Oberlin

1:09:25

sends them on another task. I do

1:09:27

want to mention at the beginning, actually,

1:09:29

I'm talking about rad rats at the

1:09:32

end made me miss Ray tonight. Do

1:09:34

you remember? Rad Rat Ray. Back in

1:09:36

the day on the fall out terminal

1:09:38

velocity. We used to give everybody a

1:09:40

literative nickname. Did you try to think?

1:09:42

Did you have one? Was it like

1:09:45

Atomic Angie probably? Yeah, probably. I would

1:09:47

assume. It was goofy. I love it.

1:09:49

But Rad Rat Ray, because he just,

1:09:51

he loved those little Rad Rats. What

1:09:53

was, what was yours? What was Jess?

1:09:56

I don't remember. We had a lot

1:09:58

of a litterative nicknames, but I do

1:10:00

not remember mine. So at the beginning

1:10:02

of his feedback there, the deep thoughts

1:10:04

on ghouls, I thought that was a

1:10:07

great way to start it off. Sean.

1:10:09

Yeah, I jotted down. Do you think

1:10:11

it's painful? Turning to a school or

1:10:13

anything you do? Yeah, there's actually been

1:10:15

talk about that some different goals might

1:10:17

experience it differently Feel like your skin

1:10:20

is on pins and needles all the

1:10:22

time to get used to it and

1:10:24

it just kind of you know fades

1:10:26

to the background Okay becoming a goal

1:10:28

could be painful You know the actual

1:10:31

skin like I mean until the nerve

1:10:33

endings die if they do it's gonna

1:10:35

be it's gonna be very uncomfortable and

1:10:37

the rotting situation You know depending on

1:10:39

the type of goal like some goals

1:10:41

petrify more other goals wrought If you

1:10:44

look at like follow-out three goals and

1:10:46

some of the early goals in the

1:10:48

first fallout games But yeah They look

1:10:50

more rotten. The ones in fallout four

1:10:52

look more petrified, preserved. He's in chat

1:10:55

and says they're stinky too. He says

1:10:57

they're probably stinky a. Look at them

1:10:59

and smell them. But the deep thoughts

1:11:01

from Isaiah as a character, you know,

1:11:03

like are they even human anymore? What

1:11:06

do they feel? What do they think?

1:11:08

Would I be doing a mercy putting

1:11:10

them down? The fact that we've got

1:11:12

all these schools now in the world

1:11:14

around us in 76. I mean, these

1:11:16

are thoughts that should be on everyone.

1:11:19

I'm in the lure more. I've said

1:11:21

it before. I do think that ghouls

1:11:23

are such an important part of fallout

1:11:25

lure that we really, we can't take

1:11:27

them too casually. The fact we can

1:11:30

all become ghouls as a player mechanic,

1:11:32

okay, that's fun, that's funny. Like, you

1:11:34

know, kind of like getting a water

1:11:36

slide in the atomic shop. Like, it

1:11:38

may not happen quite so casually, quite

1:11:41

quite so fun. But I'm glad, you

1:11:43

know, to actually stop and think about

1:11:45

what it would mean. You know, the

1:11:47

characters he made there, even if it

1:11:49

is short, they do talk about it

1:11:51

a good bet. Let's see. I like

1:11:54

that he doesn't put up with Hugo.

1:11:56

The fact that when Hugo rushed in

1:11:58

on him and he pulled a gun,

1:12:00

he said, do not ever sneak up

1:12:02

on me like that. That was a

1:12:05

very... I will drop you. Exactly. That

1:12:07

was a good reaction. I mean, it

1:12:09

makes sense. Like none of us liked

1:12:11

how Hugo came in there. Also, I

1:12:13

didn't mention this, but when Silira was

1:12:15

talking about it a good. that it

1:12:18

does seem like he's talking about replacing

1:12:20

a person's body parts or who a

1:12:22

person is. Do you think he's talking

1:12:24

about mentally rebuilding his wife or physically

1:12:26

rebuilding? I mean, is Frankenstein like a

1:12:29

ship of Theseus allegory in a way?

1:12:31

I don't know. It'd be. Food for

1:12:33

thought, but I do wonder exactly what

1:12:35

Hugo was up to with his wife

1:12:37

there. I like the way he rushed

1:12:40

in putting down the cultists and we

1:12:42

are getting so many different opinions on

1:12:44

Kevin. You know, because he's like Kevin,

1:12:46

I should put that poor wretch out

1:12:48

of his misery too. But you know,

1:12:50

their will was like, no! Exactly. It's

1:12:53

just funny. Characters like that are part

1:12:55

of the fabric of the wasteland. Part

1:12:57

of what we like about fallout is

1:12:59

those unique characters and just the way

1:13:01

they come through. So that's a shout

1:13:04

out for the acting there that kind

1:13:06

of make us have all these feelings

1:13:08

about Kevin. All the rising Kevin. Exactly.

1:13:10

Also, good job Audrey recognizing his work.

1:13:12

It's true. We do not get enough

1:13:15

rewards. We do the whistle. I mean,

1:13:17

yes. Okay, we get question. We get

1:13:19

legendary items all the time. We get

1:13:21

catching experience points, catching caps, catching 20

1:13:23

missiles in your pockets. Congrats, you can't

1:13:25

fast travel. But we ever get a

1:13:28

thank you. Right. We don't get that

1:13:30

many big thank you or that many,

1:13:32

you know, good weapons. So, you know,

1:13:34

a nice little Red Rider BB gun.

1:13:36

That was a good reward. But yeah,

1:13:39

that's kind of it for my comments

1:13:41

on the feedback. Did you have anything

1:13:43

else there? Railway rifle, furious, I think

1:13:45

someone said it was a railway rifle.

1:13:47

Yep, they're confirming in chat, it was

1:13:50

the furious weapon. Do you have your

1:13:52

popcorn Andrew? We're about to play Lee's

1:13:54

feedback. Uh-oh, I better get something long.

1:13:56

Well sit back and enjoy the sonorous

1:13:58

tones of Lee's journey with toe cutter

1:14:00

through the quest. Episode 9, the truth

1:14:03

will out. After spending more than enough

1:14:05

time looking around vault 63 and meeting

1:14:07

the people. such as they are, Toe

1:14:09

went to see what task Oberlin had

1:14:11

for her. Barbara wanted help with his

1:14:14

backlog of tasks within the vault, as

1:14:16

he's been dealing with the outside world

1:14:18

more lately. He suggested three tasks which

1:14:20

all involve speaking to people, Margaret, Lawrence,

1:14:22

and Julio, so Toe went to find

1:14:24

them. She found them all talking in

1:14:27

a lounge area. Margaret recognized her as

1:14:29

an outsider and asked what brought Toe

1:14:31

here, and she mentioned that most of

1:14:33

their issues were at the lower levels.

1:14:35

Belle talked about the three tasks which

1:14:38

involved rad rats. Those is in the

1:14:40

generator room and someone named Alfie who

1:14:42

made them lock him in his room.

1:14:44

They also mentioned that the disaster that

1:14:46

had changed them all to ghouls and

1:14:49

created the lost was an earthquake. The

1:14:51

lower levels are accessible via elevators or

1:14:53

stairs. Toe decided to take the stairs

1:14:55

as they were likely more tactically advantageous.

1:14:57

From the likes of it the lower

1:14:59

level of the atrium had been hard

1:15:02

hit by the earthquake and as predicted

1:15:04

it was full of rad rats. Looking

1:15:06

around she found the reactor room which

1:15:08

they had called the generator room. where

1:15:10

they had heard strange noises that made

1:15:13

them think that they were lost in

1:15:15

there. Entering, she found a terminal that

1:15:17

gave her access to the reactor room

1:15:19

proper, where she could see red roaches

1:15:21

from the control room. With the red

1:15:24

roaches dispatched, Tow realized there were several

1:15:26

pipes leaking radiation. Tools in hand, she

1:15:28

repaired them since she was there. Leaving

1:15:30

the reactor area and closing the door

1:15:32

behind her, she continued to search her

1:15:34

on the lower level to find Alfie's

1:15:37

room and the key that was down

1:15:39

there somewhere somewhere. She found the key

1:15:41

on a cart in the residential area

1:15:43

with Alfie's room nearby. Entering, it didn't

1:15:45

take long to find and be attacked

1:15:48

by Alfie. Till finished the job that

1:15:50

his friends could not. It apparently gone

1:15:52

feral and according to his journal he

1:15:54

didn't know what was happening, but had

1:15:56

the foresight to realize he was becoming

1:15:58

a danger to others in the vault

1:16:01

and had his friends lock him in

1:16:03

his room permanently. He also blamed Stoltz

1:16:05

for building his mansion on top of

1:16:07

the vault, and Archie and his friends

1:16:09

had been outside working on the gutters

1:16:12

instead of finishing the vault when the

1:16:14

bombs fell. Oddly among his effects was

1:16:16

the death claw hide. Perhaps a souvenir

1:16:18

would expedition outside the vault after such

1:16:20

things became common. Toe was careful to

1:16:23

close Alfie's door when she left. Returning

1:16:25

to Alfie's friends, Toe reported that she

1:16:27

had taken care of all three tasks.

1:16:29

Toe asked about the leaders and they

1:16:31

agreed to talk since she had helped

1:16:33

them. They said that Stultz was tough

1:16:36

but fair, but since his wife Cassidy

1:16:38

disappeared, he wasn't quite as centered as...

1:16:40

used to be and may have reverted

1:16:42

to some of his pre-war business practices.

1:16:44

Oberlin seems to be capable but seems

1:16:47

to resent working for Stoltz, but they

1:16:49

don't know why. Then Toe reported back

1:16:51

to Oberlin who is pleased enough with

1:16:53

their work to thank her and give

1:16:55

her some items from the vault stock.

1:16:58

Toe then returned to Stoltz to take

1:17:00

on his task. He wanted help finding

1:17:02

the key to a safe in his

1:17:04

office, which his wife, Cassidy, had custody

1:17:06

of. Unfortunately, she is incapacitated not missing,

1:17:08

not missing. and unable to help him

1:17:11

find out where she hid it. He

1:17:13

being blind cannot read her notes to

1:17:15

see if she mentioned the location of

1:17:17

the key in them. Her notes may

1:17:19

also contain private or sensitive vault information

1:17:22

that tow as a neutral party is

1:17:24

unlikely to care about. Thus he asked

1:17:26

tow to read her notes and find

1:17:28

the key. She began her task. In

1:17:30

Hugo Stoltz's room she found an anniversary

1:17:32

note to Cassie, whom he called his

1:17:35

treasure and his partner in crime. Not

1:17:37

sure what he meant by that, so

1:17:39

Toe kept searching for Cassie's notes. The

1:17:41

headboard of the bed was filled with

1:17:43

pre-war money. Interesting. Cassie left a note

1:17:46

about her working with Romona, a theoretical

1:17:48

physicist, on art lessons. She lamented that

1:17:50

Hugo could not see her artwork. Romona

1:17:52

suggested something called the impasto style, where

1:17:54

the paint is heavily applied with brush

1:17:57

and a pallet knife, to provide a

1:17:59

texture that Hugo could touch and get

1:18:01

the feel of her artwork. Cassie loved

1:18:03

the idea. On the bottom half of

1:18:05

the coffee table, Tofond Cassidy's journal, the

1:18:07

entries read as follows. 18 October, 2077,

1:18:10

just before the Great War. It mentioned

1:18:12

some issue with their daughter Audrey, where

1:18:14

Hugo was concerned about the people she

1:18:16

was hanging around. Cassie didn't agree with

1:18:18

his solution and hoped that Audrey never

1:18:21

found out. 13 February, 2087, almost 10

1:18:23

years later, not much of a journal.

1:18:25

Cassie missed their travels from before the

1:18:27

war and is uncomfortable with the vault.

1:18:29

their only sanctuary being the small waterfall

1:18:32

in the garden section of the vault.

1:18:34

She also mentions being unwell in some

1:18:36

way and that it is getting worse.

1:18:38

8 March 2087 Cassie caught someone in

1:18:40

their offices supposedly looking for a report

1:18:42

but Cassie figured they were snooping and

1:18:45

decided to hide the more sensitive documents

1:18:47

in the safe. She then fashioned the

1:18:49

key into the back of her favorite

1:18:51

necklace for safekeeping and decided to where

1:18:53

it heads forth. 26 Mark, 2087. Cassie

1:18:56

was relaxing by the waterfall and was

1:18:58

interrupted by Johnny, the janitor, who came

1:19:00

out from a concealed maintenance room behind

1:19:02

the waterfall. She decided to mention the

1:19:04

room to Hugo in Casey didn't know.

1:19:06

That was the last entry in the

1:19:09

journal. With nothing else to go on,

1:19:11

Toe decided to find the waterfall in

1:19:13

the concealed room. On her way, she

1:19:15

stopped by Hugo's desk and learned more

1:19:17

about the vault and his influence in

1:19:20

getting vault 63, vault 63 built. As

1:19:22

I say, with his money and Cassie's

1:19:24

people skills, it was nearly inevitable that

1:19:26

he get the vault built and that

1:19:28

he became the overseer. Finding the garden

1:19:31

area, she entered and found Johnny attending

1:19:33

to the garden. Sitting at the picnic

1:19:35

table, she enjoyed the sound of the

1:19:37

waterfall and the piped-in birdcalls and felt

1:19:39

the warm breeze. It was a really

1:19:41

nice addition to any vault. Getting up,

1:19:44

she decided to talk to Johnny, but

1:19:46

he seemed to be too busy to

1:19:48

talk, with nothing better to do. She

1:19:50

decided to search her on the waterfall

1:19:52

and found a rock tunnel leading back

1:19:55

to a standard vault residential door. She

1:19:57

tried it and it opened easily. She

1:19:59

paused to see if Johnny would appear

1:20:01

as he must have heard it. Nothing.

1:20:03

She entered. It seemed to be a

1:20:06

normal workroom with access to the pump

1:20:08

room for the waterfall and a storeroom

1:20:10

at the back. The pump room controls

1:20:12

didn't work. She checked the nearby fuse

1:20:14

box and found that it was corroded

1:20:16

so she decided some percussive maintenance was

1:20:19

in order and she hit it. The

1:20:21

door opened immediately. Entering the pump room,

1:20:23

she passed through an answer. and found

1:20:25

Cassidy lying in a bed where she

1:20:27

had been cared for. Alongside was one

1:20:30

of the large computers, like the one

1:20:32

that contained the mayor of Grafton, but

1:20:34

it wasn't responding. Cassidy appeared dead, so

1:20:36

Toe gingerly searched for her locket. She

1:20:38

was warm, so it was likely she

1:20:40

was in a coma. Hugo appeared behind

1:20:43

her and asked why she was there

1:20:45

and told her to get your filthy

1:20:47

hands off her. Toe asked if you

1:20:49

wanted her help or not, saying that

1:20:51

Cassidy's got the key. Hugo apologized and

1:20:54

asked her to proceed. To ask what

1:20:56

was wrong with Cassidy, and Hugo, either

1:20:58

in denial or with the benefit of

1:21:00

his newfound site, said, she's perfect. After

1:21:02

the accident, she just became quiet. He

1:21:05

then encouraged to get the plans. Toe

1:21:07

pressed and asked why Cassidy was here

1:21:09

and not in the infirmary. Hugo wanted

1:21:11

Cassidy to have her quiet privacy and

1:21:13

not be out in front of everyone

1:21:15

on exhibition. and closed the workroom door

1:21:18

on our way back to Hugo's office

1:21:20

to fetch the blueprints. In Hugo's office,

1:21:22

Toe noticed Cassidy's personal terminal, which a

1:21:24

note said was supposed to be in

1:21:26

storage. Wanting more information on the vault,

1:21:29

Toe examined the terminal. According to a

1:21:31

draft press release, Stoltz and Industries had

1:21:33

begun as an international trade consultancy. With

1:21:35

Hugo and Cassie moving to the United

1:21:37

States to work more closely with their

1:21:40

business partners. The draft ended with a

1:21:42

note about the list of partners stating

1:21:44

that the list of partners was pending

1:21:46

due to holdouts. This was not the

1:21:48

best way to refer to partners. Another

1:21:50

draft entry touched on a meeting with

1:21:53

one Professor Calvert whose work intrigued them.

1:21:55

Gassity mentioned they didn't approve of petty

1:21:57

games and found that shutting someone known

1:21:59

as death was a definite faux-paw. She

1:22:01

went on to suggest further collaboration on

1:22:04

something out west. The last entry concerned

1:22:06

a town hall meeting in Dark Island

1:22:08

falls and a big move out. It

1:22:10

was not clear what caused the move.

1:22:12

there were no more entries in the

1:22:14

terminal. Locating the wall safe, Toe opened

1:22:17

it up and found the contents interesting.

1:22:19

She found the weather machine blueprints, a

1:22:21

love letter, and instructions for a hit

1:22:23

man. Apparently, Hugo was re-employing a Mr.

1:22:25

Redacted to solve a problem with one

1:22:28

Quentin Hake, who had raised concerns about

1:22:30

their current investments in certain unnamed technologies.

1:22:32

Well. Toe decided she should be even

1:22:34

more cautious in her dealings with Mr.

1:22:36

Stoles. The love letter was from some

1:22:39

communist swine, identified only by the letter

1:22:41

A to someone referred to as my

1:22:43

gorgeous capitalist piggy. How odd. Toe took

1:22:45

a metal note and put the papers

1:22:47

back in the safe and took the

1:22:49

blueprints back to Hugo. She didn't mention

1:22:52

the notes. Since he couldn't read the

1:22:54

blueprints, he told her to take them

1:22:56

to his daughter Audrey in the metrology

1:22:58

sector at the Hocksville weather station, another

1:23:00

area of the vault now requiring a

1:23:03

trip outside. He then submitted the quandary

1:23:05

of the ship of Theseus. Although she

1:23:07

sided with it being the same ship

1:23:09

with new parts, he suggested the opposite

1:23:11

response, but with the question of what

1:23:14

replacement of which part does it become

1:23:16

a different ship? As he did not

1:23:18

require an answer. she gave none and

1:23:20

left to find Audrey. Following the road

1:23:22

back she passed under Mountain Station T.M.O.3

1:23:24

and remembered to stop by to see

1:23:27

Craig and return his team's personal effects

1:23:29

from Miles, Rob, and Rebecca. Only Rebecca

1:23:31

may have survived. Craig was grateful to

1:23:33

have the information and would try to

1:23:35

get a radio message back to Foundation

1:23:38

in case he didn't make it back

1:23:40

either. Toe left for the Hawksville Weather

1:23:42

Station. After dispatching more robo brains, the

1:23:44

vault-like cargo door opened with the simple

1:23:46

press of a button. Because it was

1:23:48

unusual to see two entrances. Toe chose

1:23:51

the raised one on the left side,

1:23:53

where she found a waiting area which

1:23:55

had a vault 63 maintenance terminal. construction

1:23:57

reports stating that Hugo Stoll said suddenly

1:23:59

halved the delivery deadline for the vault

1:24:02

which put immense pressure on the workforce

1:24:04

and led to a lot of corners

1:24:06

being cut on the construction. This may

1:24:08

have been why the earthquake caused so

1:24:10

much damage to the vault. The terminal

1:24:13

also contained an entry which revealed at

1:24:15

least part of the true purpose of

1:24:17

vault 63. It had access to a

1:24:19

linked terminal which was classified. Project Storm

1:24:21

Goliath. The gist of the entries talked

1:24:23

about using one Lieutenant Colonel Overland's holotape

1:24:26

to steal information from the Pentagon, which

1:24:28

helped to clear roadblocks to getting their

1:24:30

large-sized robotics project through the system. This

1:24:32

was a project that would release a

1:24:34

Storm Goliath robot variant called Nona Decima

1:24:37

Morta. Automatically, whenever Vault 63 was under

1:24:39

high alert. Among its armaments was the

1:24:41

ability to call down lightning on any

1:24:43

intruders. The vault also had the ability

1:24:45

to automatically build and release another, should

1:24:48

the first one be destroyed. The only

1:24:50

way to stop this system was to

1:24:52

have a vault tech representative deescalate the

1:24:54

alert in the engineering sector. The implications

1:24:56

of this information were immense, and Toe

1:24:58

was determined to proceed with caution, in

1:25:01

case this was a threat to her

1:25:03

investigation. She left the area and headed

1:25:05

for the other entry door to the

1:25:07

metrology section. As expected the metrology section

1:25:09

was a maze of corridors and rooms,

1:25:12

making Findry Audrey much more difficult. There

1:25:14

were laser grids, but they let Toe

1:25:16

pass unmolested, and she found Audrey. She

1:25:18

was quite pleased to get the blueprints.

1:25:20

When asked about her father, she said

1:25:22

that he was more like her boss,

1:25:25

with the bonus of him interfering with

1:25:27

both her professional and personal lives. She

1:25:29

was willing to talk about the weather

1:25:31

control aspects of the project and was

1:25:33

more reluctant to talk about recent discoveries

1:25:36

that made it more important. Toe suspected

1:25:38

that these discoveries might have to do

1:25:40

with Project Goliath in addition to the

1:25:42

odd storm outside. Agri rewarded her for

1:25:44

her delivery and started to dismiss her

1:25:47

but stopped and asked her to return

1:25:49

after she had had time to look

1:25:51

over the blueprints as she may have

1:25:53

further need of her services. Coe took

1:25:55

some time to look around the metrology

1:25:57

section and gave Audrey time to look

1:26:00

at the blueprints. She found a lot

1:26:02

of damage to the section and in

1:26:04

some places the equipment was sparking and

1:26:06

some of the racks had places where

1:26:08

equipment had been removed. The laser grids

1:26:11

all let her pass by freely until

1:26:13

she came upon one in the damaged

1:26:15

area that wouldn't. She couldn't see much

1:26:17

beyond it except for more racks of

1:26:19

test equipment. The only other interesting thing

1:26:22

she saw was a small tabby cat

1:26:24

doing his own intense exploration of the

1:26:26

area. Returning to Adri, Toe found her

1:26:28

still bent over the blueprints. She looked

1:26:30

up and was pleased to see Toe

1:26:32

and said that the blueprints revealed the

1:26:35

exact part they needed. She knew of

1:26:37

a similar part in a weather monitoring

1:26:39

station at the Shenandoah Visitor visitor center.

1:26:41

As always with vault 63 personnel, Toe's

1:26:43

outdoor experience was a great asset. Adri

1:26:46

was not sure if Part would fix

1:26:48

the weather system or not, as there

1:26:50

was a lot of damage, but hope

1:26:52

that it might help to, quote, fix

1:26:54

the lost as well. Unlike some Vault

1:26:56

63 personnel, Toe had met, Adri was

1:26:59

quite nice about asking if she would

1:27:01

mind going to fix the part. She

1:27:03

even thanked Toe when she agreed to

1:27:05

do it, so she headed out. Once

1:27:07

outside, she consulted her map and found

1:27:10

the visitor center was west of substation

1:27:12

TM03. Inside, she found a park ranger

1:27:14

who was scared that she might be

1:27:16

one of the weirdos that he'd seen.

1:27:18

He also knew where the weather monitoring

1:27:21

device was. It was in his bunker,

1:27:23

but now more weirdos blocked the way.

1:27:25

He heard them chanting down there and

1:27:27

mentioned a human sacrifice named Alan. To

1:27:29

agree to clear out the weirdos and

1:27:31

see if they knew anyone named Alan.

1:27:34

Yep, mothman cultus. Once the temple was

1:27:36

cleared, she found a note on the

1:27:38

podium directing the mothman cultists to perform

1:27:40

a ritual near the latest mothman sighting

1:27:42

and retrieve more supplies from the gift

1:27:45

shop and return with the next offering.

1:27:47

It was signed Alex. Toe wondered if

1:27:49

the Ranger was mistaken about who was

1:27:51

the sacrifice and... who is the officiate.

1:27:53

Talking to the Ranger again, he said

1:27:56

he had never heard of the cultists,

1:27:58

but from their chanting, he gleaned that

1:28:00

someone named Alex had sent them. Maybe

1:28:02

Toad misheard him after all. The Ranger

1:28:04

led the way into the bunker. When

1:28:06

they got to his room, it talked

1:28:09

a bit about how the other Rangers

1:28:11

had left either on supply missions or

1:28:13

to look for their families and had

1:28:15

never come back. He seemed happy in

1:28:17

his isolation. To got the part she

1:28:20

needed from the weather system and left.

1:28:22

She made it back to Hocksville weather

1:28:24

station without much trouble, just the usual

1:28:26

rubber brains outside. Toe wondered where they

1:28:28

kept coming from. She returned to Audrey

1:28:30

and asked how her research was going.

1:28:33

Audrey became agitated and started to ask

1:28:35

what business was that of hers. Then

1:28:37

she calmed down and apologized and asked

1:28:39

if Toe had found the part. Soe

1:28:41

gave her the part and mentioned the

1:28:44

cultus. Audrey had never heard of them

1:28:46

either. She had, however, heard of an

1:28:48

Alex. She had known an Alex before

1:28:50

the war and was visibly visibly visibly

1:28:52

shaken and was visibly shaken. She had

1:28:55

already modified their equipment to accept a

1:28:57

commercial part and asked Tow to attach

1:28:59

it while she gathered herself for her

1:29:01

equipment. Tow found a sparking panel where

1:29:03

the new part had to be fit

1:29:05

and installed it. Audrey came in and

1:29:08

checked Tow's work. She completed making some

1:29:10

connections and said that Tow had done

1:29:12

well for a first time working on

1:29:14

a weather machine. Then she mentioned that

1:29:16

all they needed now was a scan

1:29:19

of her mother's eyes as she was

1:29:21

the only in one authorized to make

1:29:23

the changes. They needed to finish the

1:29:25

work. At that point, Hugo ran in

1:29:27

saying Audrey's mother was gone, not past,

1:29:30

but gone, as in someone had kidnapped

1:29:32

her and left a note with some

1:29:34

crazy talk about a mothman. Audrey then

1:29:36

made the connection between Alex and the

1:29:38

cultists, and the secret was out when

1:29:40

Hugo blurted that he had taken care

1:29:43

of Alex. This threw Audrey into her

1:29:45

rage, asking her father had taken care

1:29:47

of Alex. He responded with platitudes about

1:29:49

doing what had to be done in

1:29:51

her best interests. She raged at him

1:29:54

about how he had always controlled her

1:29:56

life and that she'd been miserable the

1:29:58

whole time. Audrey then stormed out. Hugo

1:30:00

insisted that she had a flare for

1:30:02

the dramatic and they needed to find

1:30:04

out more about how to get his

1:30:07

wife back. When asked about how he

1:30:09

took care of Alex he said she

1:30:11

was a bad influence and a threat

1:30:13

to their business but especially to Audrey.

1:30:15

He wanted a return to the matter

1:30:18

at hand. Tope pressed and played her

1:30:20

hand by asking if the letter she

1:30:22

had found with the blueprints was from

1:30:24

Alex. He admitted that the letter shocked

1:30:26

both Cassidy and himself and had caused

1:30:29

the whole problem. He wasn't sure if

1:30:31

the cultist Alex was the same person.

1:30:33

but it was possible as the hitman

1:30:35

had never returned. Toe was shocked that

1:30:37

he admitted it so openly. Hugo then

1:30:39

said that whoever kidnapped Cassidy deserved to

1:30:42

die. Toe took the assignment to try

1:30:44

and rescue Cassidy but preferred to not

1:30:46

kill Alex if possible. Hugo relented and

1:30:48

said yes. He decided that he could

1:30:50

accept Alex into the family if it

1:30:53

was the price of getting Cassidy back.

1:30:55

Toe was surprised that he relented and

1:30:57

he said that Audrey may have had

1:30:59

a point about the whole happiness thing.

1:31:01

And Toe may have had a point

1:31:04

about the whole violence thing. Toe then

1:31:06

left the facility to look for the

1:31:08

cultist camp. So there you go. Andrew,

1:31:10

I just want to shout something out

1:31:12

real quick. Yes. Shout out to all

1:31:14

the work people put in on their

1:31:17

feedback and such. You know, Ray, Andrew,

1:31:19

and I, we just, we get in

1:31:21

front of a microphone and bowel for

1:31:23

a few hours a week. I mean,

1:31:25

yeah, okay. We play, we play, we

1:31:28

research, we plan stuff, you know, we

1:31:30

showed oats, some games and games and

1:31:32

games and games and games and all

1:31:34

that, but like, but like, but like

1:31:36

leave for that feedback, like leave for

1:31:38

that feedback, you have a tendency to

1:31:41

write things out ahead. So I might

1:31:43

tease you about the length sometime, but

1:31:45

one thing that we get with all

1:31:47

the work you put in the way

1:31:49

that you write out your feedback is

1:31:52

things like what is actually happening on

1:31:54

some of those terminals, like the stuff

1:31:56

with Project Storm Goliath. I mean, we'll

1:31:58

talk about that more when we get

1:32:00

to those quests a little bit, but

1:32:03

diving into this terminal, getting into the

1:32:05

contents of the letters and such, it's

1:32:07

just really helpful. And so I just

1:32:09

want to say we appreciate it, we

1:32:11

appreciate it, we appreciate it, we appreciate

1:32:13

it. As usual, he also shared some

1:32:16

picks along the way too. I mentioned

1:32:18

in chat, like is it funny that...

1:32:20

Every week, I'm like, oh, yay, pictures

1:32:22

when Lee started his feedback. But everybody

1:32:24

else trying to know we're all like

1:32:27

that. A good time. I've got pictures

1:32:29

from Still You Are as well from

1:32:31

his play through and some pictures from

1:32:33

Lee. We've used a few people's pictures

1:32:35

as part of our covers. A lot

1:32:38

of times we use our own, but

1:32:40

sometimes if we get pictures from you

1:32:42

guys, we'll incorporate them in as covers

1:32:44

too. In fact, the cover we have

1:32:46

had the most often, the classic institute

1:32:48

with the big old circle and the

1:32:51

synth on the synth on the frame.

1:32:53

That was just a picture that Will

1:32:55

took randomly. Like four years ago, right?

1:32:57

Years ago now, yeah. Yeah, just, it

1:32:59

was really well-framed. We're like, okay, we're

1:33:02

going to make that our default pick

1:33:04

when we don't have one. Did you

1:33:06

have anything you wanted to get into

1:33:08

on Leave Speed back, Andrew? That was

1:33:10

just very thorough and excellent storytelling and

1:33:12

just, you know, very, very well done,

1:33:15

thank you, Lee. Yeah, I love hearing

1:33:17

from Tow. Maybe another thing that happens

1:33:19

after episode 500 after episode 500 But

1:33:21

you get nostalgic for your own podcast.

1:33:23

So I was joking earlier about, you

1:33:26

know, the whole Rad Rat Ray and

1:33:28

like the old terminal velocity names. But

1:33:30

I just had that happen again during

1:33:32

during Lee's feedback when he mentioned the

1:33:34

way that he said, Cassidy has the

1:33:37

key. Reminded me of the old boy

1:33:39

is key from that quest back in

1:33:41

the day. Sorry, which key? It was

1:33:43

the episode where we're doing the Wastelanders

1:33:45

quests and the Wayward. And everyone said,

1:33:47

boy is key. And we did a

1:33:50

big old montage of how they set

1:33:52

it during that. Oh, yeah, beautiful. You

1:33:54

put them all together as a little

1:33:56

montage. Never forget the way Clint was

1:33:58

all, boy is key. Boy is key.

1:34:01

Just cracked me up. So yeah, nostalgic

1:34:03

for our own podcast. That's what happens

1:34:05

when you're about to turn it down.

1:34:07

So let's see. Like the fact that

1:34:09

he mentions open to talking, everyone handles

1:34:12

things differently. You know, like we didn't

1:34:14

dwell on Kevin. for Lee as much.

1:34:16

What do you want to go into

1:34:18

next, Andrew? I don't know, do we

1:34:20

have any iguana bits or something? Yeah,

1:34:22

okay, let me just find the... Pig

1:34:25

corn? Nope, that's not it, hold on.

1:34:27

Hold on. What do I got? What

1:34:29

do I got? What I got? Just

1:34:31

prepare to pick corn. I prepared a

1:34:33

big corn. Best report to the office,

1:34:36

please. You're guanabits already? Thank you. You

1:34:38

said it was such authority. I like

1:34:40

it. Oh, guanavits this week, y'all. We

1:34:42

definitely have some news to get into.

1:34:44

The big, of course, the big thing

1:34:46

is, of course, the ghoul update. That's

1:34:49

officially season 20. And you were going

1:34:51

to get into what you thought about

1:34:53

the rewards, but we were kind of

1:34:55

losing your signal earlier. Do you have

1:34:57

any thoughts on that you wanted to

1:35:00

share? Oh, is my signal better, by

1:35:02

the way? Yeah, much better. You've been

1:35:04

fine since we started feedback. There must

1:35:06

have been a storm passing through. I

1:35:08

was just, I kind of think the

1:35:11

stuff I want is all. on the

1:35:13

front two screens. So I take it

1:35:15

you're down with the glowing goal mask.

1:35:17

Glowing goal mask is sweet. I love

1:35:19

the goo pool. What did they call

1:35:21

it? The goo tub? The goo tub?

1:35:24

Which by the way, everyone thought by

1:35:26

the goo tub, which by the way,

1:35:28

everyone thought that was going to give

1:35:30

us radiation. So we could get our

1:35:32

glow up. You know what I mean?

1:35:35

You got to get that glow up

1:35:37

as a goal. But right now it

1:35:39

doesn't give rad. So, hopefully that changes.

1:35:41

Well, I mean, they've given us a

1:35:43

couple of other things, like there's that

1:35:46

meteor that gives you rads, there's a

1:35:48

barrel, there's a few things we can

1:35:50

put in our camp. Oh, we got

1:35:52

a picture of a custom goo, got

1:35:54

a custom goo tub and chat, labeled

1:35:56

goo friends. I got a big sign

1:35:59

that says goo friends on it. Everybody's

1:36:01

welcome in that goo tub. Somebody's already.

1:36:03

putting the bobbing for apples in the

1:36:05

gootub. Yeah, don't go deep on the

1:36:07

gootub. That is, no, don't go deep

1:36:10

on the gootub, you guys. That sounds

1:36:12

messy. See, look at the season rewards.

1:36:14

So we got that tub, we got

1:36:16

the nosy glasses. What do you think

1:36:18

of that disguise? That's hilarious. Is that

1:36:20

what a ghoul is supposed to wear

1:36:23

to look like a human? Wouldn't that

1:36:25

be great? Like if that was the

1:36:27

disguise, you had to put on? But

1:36:29

I mean, hey, you know. A ghoul's

1:36:31

least favorite joke? I don't know. Got

1:36:34

your nose? Got your nose? That's great.

1:36:36

Oh, poor dad's. Dad's everywhere. Sad that

1:36:38

their favorite dad's joke is no longer

1:36:40

welcome. Lee actually guessed it. That's awesome.

1:36:42

Good job Lee. But yeah, we've got

1:36:45

the Ghulvot boy statue is cool. The

1:36:47

nosy glasses. That's pretty neat. The glowing

1:36:49

ghoul mask. I mentioned the other day.

1:36:51

I don't think I said it on

1:36:53

the show, but that the rewards, the

1:36:55

season remind me of you can't do

1:36:58

that on television. Everything's like green and

1:37:00

slimy and gross. It's just icky. Yeah.

1:37:02

Let's do the double dare final challenge

1:37:04

or whatever that's called. Oh yeah, exactly.

1:37:06

I'm looking the slime cake. Lime cake.

1:37:09

I'm down with ghouls, but the Caesar

1:37:11

Awards here are pretty grody. I have

1:37:13

to say the altarsite furniture set. I'd

1:37:15

have, how far ahead on the board

1:37:17

have you looked? Have you looked, flip

1:37:20

through it all already? Yeah, I think

1:37:22

I looked through the whole thing. The

1:37:24

furniture set. Yeah, it looks kind of

1:37:26

like carved yellow. It's actually really neat

1:37:28

looking. I like that. But I see

1:37:30

what you're saying, that a lot of

1:37:33

the good stuff is on the front

1:37:35

half. Oh, the posing skeletons. That may

1:37:37

be my favorite award on this one.

1:37:39

What is the level 100 package or

1:37:41

whatever? So if we go to the

1:37:44

bonus page is the boneyard planter kit.

1:37:46

Is that, I think that's the big

1:37:48

reward, like they've got petrified corpses, grow

1:37:50

your own petrified corpse, exciting, boneyard, planters,

1:37:52

a bunch of skeleton parts. So yeah,

1:37:54

it's very much about the skeleton stuff.

1:37:57

Okay. You would think that'd be a

1:37:59

little bit more Halloween. Gools, but they're

1:38:01

mixing that yet. But before that, like

1:38:03

at level, the one right before, level

1:38:05

92, where you get the big poster,

1:38:08

you just get some middle barrels. There's

1:38:10

a cool throne. But yeah, the big

1:38:12

rewards at the end are just on

1:38:14

the bonus screen, it seems like. Oh,

1:38:16

oh, this is actually awesome. The nuclear

1:38:19

pyrotechnic kit is a new fireworks maker

1:38:21

that is radioactive. That's gonna be really

1:38:23

cool, I think. Oh. I haven't seen

1:38:25

one in action yet, but I have

1:38:27

high hopes. I swear. If it's trail

1:38:29

fireworks, I'm canceling my fallout first. Make

1:38:32

it impressive, okay. I want to be

1:38:34

wowed by the nuclear fireworks. I haven't

1:38:36

thought about trail fireworks in forever. You

1:38:38

know, good for you, and I think

1:38:40

you're better for it. So are all

1:38:43

of us. Remember what those are for.

1:38:45

So that's the new season. And now

1:38:47

that we've actually all had a chance

1:38:49

to kind of see it and flip

1:38:51

through the board and get our first

1:38:54

points on our way to scorecationation, which

1:38:56

Andrew, did you know that there are

1:38:58

people. Five days, that's all it takes.

1:39:00

A couple people got it done within

1:39:02

the first two days. There's out there

1:39:04

grinding. Christmas. West Tech and all that.

1:39:07

I get it. I get the urge

1:39:09

to just get it done and over

1:39:11

with. But I don't know. I feel

1:39:13

like the daily challenge is a weekly

1:39:15

challenge is really the way I do

1:39:18

it. There's some motivating factor. You know

1:39:20

what I mean? If you don't have

1:39:22

Quest to do or you or you're

1:39:24

not hanging out? the game in between

1:39:26

or did they just play it for

1:39:28

five days, finish the scoreboard and then

1:39:31

put it away until the new season

1:39:33

starts another, you know, two and a

1:39:35

half, three months from now? I think

1:39:37

there are two camps on that kind

1:39:39

of. I think that there are a

1:39:42

group of people who have just played

1:39:44

the game forever like us and all

1:39:46

they do know is log in to

1:39:48

do the season and said good, I

1:39:50

got everything I'm done. But I think

1:39:53

more of the grinders I know who

1:39:55

are hardcore into grinding like that, they

1:39:57

are then going to go and play

1:39:59

the game after. They're going to do

1:40:01

their events. They're going to hang with

1:40:03

friends and do stuff. They're going to

1:40:06

run, you know, nukes and fight the

1:40:08

beaver. and you know, the scorch bees

1:40:10

queen and all that. Beaver. Oh, you

1:40:12

know what? I was on twitch the

1:40:14

other day, surprise, and a chat wouldn't

1:40:17

let me say Beaver. I got censored.

1:40:19

Andrew. I'm all like, oh, look, you're

1:40:21

gonna fight the John B. Yeah, like,

1:40:23

let me type it. When did that

1:40:25

become inappropriate? I mean, it could be

1:40:28

wrong. You can make it inappropriate, but

1:40:30

yeah, I was surprised that was actually

1:40:32

censored in chat. That's really funny. Looking

1:40:34

at the calendar, I was really talking

1:40:36

about the aquatic mammal. Exactly, literally talking

1:40:38

about the aquatic mammal and all that?

1:40:41

Yeah. So we have a double score

1:40:43

this weekend on the calendar. And also

1:40:45

there is a photo mode contest going

1:40:47

on for Adam. I'm going to pull

1:40:49

up the official announcement one second. So

1:40:52

it says to announce this, our goal

1:40:54

photo mode contest is live. Enter your

1:40:56

best ghoul photo for a chance to

1:40:58

win Adams. Full details and links to

1:41:00

the rules here. Due to legal constraints,

1:41:02

contest is only open to residents of

1:41:05

the US and Canada 18 years and

1:41:07

older. I don't know why. It's not

1:41:09

open to international participants, but if you're

1:41:11

in the US in Canada, there is

1:41:13

a ghoul photo mode contest. The rules

1:41:16

are on their discord and you should

1:41:18

submit them on the discord as well.

1:41:20

So if you're not part of the

1:41:22

Bethesda to game studios to game studios

1:41:24

discord, get on it. post there much

1:41:27

because it can be a little overwhelming.

1:41:29

But it's a great place to hear

1:41:31

about contests. If you do want to

1:41:33

jump in there, chats not just for

1:41:35

76, but also like Starfield Chat and

1:41:37

all the games. Elder Scrolls Chat, castles,

1:41:40

fallout shelter. They have a fallout shelter

1:41:42

dedicated chat. There dude. I am scrolling

1:41:44

back. The last comment from somebody in

1:41:46

fallout shelter chat was just yesterday and

1:41:48

they said, I've been playing with the

1:41:51

same vault since 2020. Well, good on

1:41:53

you. That's awesome. It's active to this

1:41:55

day, Andrew. Yeah, so anyway, but we're

1:41:57

talking about the photo mode contest, the

1:41:59

Gultastic photo mode contest. What's the basic

1:42:02

rules? here. To participate, take one photo

1:42:04

of your goal character using the in-game

1:42:06

photo mode feature. Make sure your goal

1:42:08

is clearly visible in the image and

1:42:10

the star of the photo. This isn't

1:42:12

a camp contest. You can use your

1:42:15

camp to get a fun backdrop, etc.

1:42:17

or simply pose in a location around

1:42:19

Apple at you. And it's going to

1:42:21

be open all week. It started on

1:42:23

Thursday, March 20th, and it's closing Thursday,

1:42:26

March 27th at noon Eastern. So get

1:42:28

your photos in by Thursday at noon

1:42:30

and if you're going to join. Super

1:42:32

sweet. Yeah, speaking of ghoul photos, ghouls,

1:42:34

ghouls, ghouls everywhere. That's definitely my next

1:42:36

story and they go on a bit

1:42:39

right now. It seems like everybody's gone

1:42:41

ghoul. Ghoul's gone wild. Of course, it's

1:42:43

the new thing. It's the new hotness,

1:42:45

exactly, but like, I'm just picturing like

1:42:47

someone just standing there looking around. I

1:42:50

am surrounded by ghouls. I feel like

1:42:52

everybody's got at least one character, the

1:42:54

triant list, which... Makes sense. Some people

1:42:56

doing one or two. Some people have

1:42:58

started new characters that they leveled for

1:43:01

a while because you have to be

1:43:03

level 50 to start the Gul Quest.

1:43:05

But did you hear about this new

1:43:07

thing? Fallout is doing. Yeah. There is

1:43:09

now a level 50 boost kit to

1:43:11

start the game. So we know they

1:43:14

added a new character. Right. Start at

1:43:16

level 20 when you exit the vault.

1:43:18

Great. You get a little bit of

1:43:20

a build, etc. Now. You can buy

1:43:22

a level 50 character boost in the

1:43:25

atomic shop. Just a quick description of

1:43:27

what it is. With level 50 character

1:43:29

boost, you can jump into Fall 76

1:43:31

and get into all the multiplayer activities.

1:43:33

It includes a one-time character boost, 1,000

1:43:36

caps, which isn't that many caps in

1:43:38

the scheme of things, but enough to

1:43:40

a fast travel. A number of unlocked

1:43:42

map markers for fast travel, so they

1:43:44

will unlock some markers for you. and

1:43:46

some extras, you get some premium consumables

1:43:49

and you get a variety of plans

1:43:51

and recipes. So basically, they're getting rid

1:43:53

of a lot of the hard work

1:43:55

for you. You know, you get some

1:43:57

basic plans, some basic comes, the equipment

1:44:00

that give you, giving you like a

1:44:02

different couple of options. You get a

1:44:04

juggernaut handmade rifle, you get

1:44:06

a suppressor super sledge, and

1:44:08

the armor they give you is a

1:44:11

weightless combat armor. So it's

1:44:13

not like super op or anything

1:44:15

like that, but enough that you

1:44:17

can kind of keep up with

1:44:19

people at level appropriate standards.

1:44:21

So all the basics and

1:44:24

how many atoms does it cost?

1:44:26

I'm trying to avoid playing. a video

1:44:28

game. I mean, see, this is the

1:44:30

whole purpose, right? This is how I

1:44:32

look at these. I understand some people

1:44:35

want to get right into the action

1:44:37

and what they care about are multiplayer

1:44:39

events. You can do this on wow.

1:44:41

You can do this on a lot of

1:44:43

MMOs. But, I mean, well, especially for

1:44:45

us, I'm considering that we're

1:44:48

all about leveling your character,

1:44:50

your progression, the quest along

1:44:52

the way. Like that is exactly our thing.

1:44:54

So the idea of paying to skip

1:44:56

the good stuff. I don't really care about

1:44:58

launching nukes. I mean, don't get me wrong.

1:45:01

Running a silo with friends can be fun.

1:45:03

Fighting the scorch-be screen can be fun.

1:45:05

But yeah, I mean, I'm sorry, it's about the journey.

1:45:07

Not to be too trite, but geez. Sorry, but

1:45:09

we were talking ghouls. I got a little bit

1:45:11

of tangent there. So Loyor's character, he

1:45:13

is making a ghoul from his character

1:45:15

mat, that he crafted to be a ghoul.

1:45:17

A lot of people, other people have them, other

1:45:19

people have them, I mentioned, I mentioned

1:45:22

before that. I mentioned before that. I

1:45:24

didn't think I was going to have

1:45:26

Hard Knock become a ghoul, my current

1:45:28

roundtable character, but my

1:45:31

old character, Ron, is going to be

1:45:33

a ghoul. And yeah, he looks

1:45:35

great. My main character, despite the

1:45:37

fact that I've shared several

1:45:39

pictures of her as a ghoul,

1:45:41

that was just for testing. And that's

1:45:44

not on public server, not on the

1:45:46

main server with the main character.

1:45:48

So she is not, rumors of

1:45:51

her gulitude, are exaggerated. There are

1:45:53

people who will on their main character, but

1:45:55

playing a ghoul is so different, so many

1:45:57

changes with the perk cards and such.

1:46:00

That it's not for everyone. You know,

1:46:02

there's a lot of cool opportunities,

1:46:04

but it's not for everyone and

1:46:06

I mean, I'm sorry. She's got pretty

1:46:09

skin. Don't do that to her, please.

1:46:11

I was looking at the ghoul presets

1:46:13

and like a couple of the ghoul

1:46:16

ladies was like, well, she's kind of

1:46:18

hot for a ghoul lady. You know,

1:46:20

there's not all that unattractive. I was

1:46:22

like, well, I guess the ghouls don't

1:46:25

have to be hideous monsters. No, you're

1:46:27

not wrong, Joe and some of the others.

1:46:29

I mean, there are some cute ghouls out

1:46:31

there. And I like the fact that ghouls

1:46:33

are fully customizable. I mentioned before, but you

1:46:36

get into the character creator. You have a

1:46:38

full character creator there with new options.

1:46:40

You know, fun. New eye colors, like

1:46:42

bloodshot dirty yellow. Bloodshot dirty blue. Dirty

1:46:44

green. Pick your color. No, but you

1:46:46

can also get like glowing green and

1:46:48

like some cool black eyes, like all

1:46:50

kinds of options. Yeah, there's a few

1:46:52

pre sets. So I think there are four

1:46:55

or five pre sets to choose from

1:46:57

and then they can build from there.

1:46:59

New tattoos too. Did you go through

1:47:01

the tattoo and accessory menu at

1:47:03

all? I saw that they had like

1:47:05

the, didn't I have like the tech

1:47:07

this style? Yeah, there's some kind

1:47:10

of unique ones. There's an Adam

1:47:12

one. There's a little mothman

1:47:14

tattoo, bunch of stuff. Yeah, he

1:47:16

has an Adam on his cheek.

1:47:18

Yes, everybody. That is fantastic.

1:47:21

So I'm so glad people can play a

1:47:23

school, but not something I want to

1:47:25

do on my main. And there's a

1:47:27

lot to learn about new school builds.

1:47:29

There are a number of good videos

1:47:31

out there. Some people have mentioned, Angry

1:47:33

Turtle, of course, doing some videos

1:47:35

on school builds and stuff using the

1:47:38

New Systems. I would highly recommend Mr.

1:47:40

Church's video on the public test server

1:47:42

when I was there. He was pretty

1:47:44

much every time on the public test

1:47:46

server when I was there. Every time

1:47:48

I looked at. thing that's different with

1:47:50

the new goal system of glow, getting

1:47:52

your glow up and the way you

1:47:54

use that, you need to get a

1:47:56

lot of rads and you spend glow

1:47:59

to kind of act as a shield, but it

1:48:01

also acts as something you can spend to

1:48:03

do more damage on your attacks and all

1:48:05

that. In order to get your glow increased

1:48:07

again, to get more rads, the best way

1:48:09

is probably using the toxic go. Keep it

1:48:11

on you, you can always have go on

1:48:13

you. In the test server, he mentions the

1:48:15

radiation on you. In the test server, he

1:48:17

mentions the radiation gun, for instance, if you

1:48:20

are standing and you just kind of shoot

1:48:22

the ground or shoot a wall next to

1:48:24

you, get yourself, bathe yourself on those rads

1:48:26

from those rads from those rads from those

1:48:28

rads from the gamma gun. They kick that

1:48:30

up a notch, so on the live

1:48:32

build it definitely is. Where do

1:48:34

you get that? Where's the goo

1:48:37

from? From West Tech. The big

1:48:39

old vats of green stuff, you

1:48:41

can actually, you know, get

1:48:43

toxic goo there. You just dip

1:48:45

your little canteen and... It's a

1:48:47

goo. You just dip your little

1:48:50

canteen in. It's a good way.

1:48:52

A lot of people with bloody build

1:48:54

would use in the past to keep

1:48:57

their rags tight. I just love

1:48:59

like... collapsing. Yeah, tracks me

1:49:01

up every time. Ragdolling off

1:49:03

a cliff. Mm-hmm. But I'd recommend

1:49:05

a couple of those videos. I

1:49:08

don't know that we want to

1:49:10

go through all the mechanics here

1:49:12

on the on de guanibus, but

1:49:15

did you have any questions about

1:49:17

goldification? Andrew that have kind of

1:49:19

come up for you that we might

1:49:21

want to talk about? No, I just

1:49:23

I went through the quest in a

1:49:25

half and kind of like I didn't

1:49:27

really play with it much. Yep. I just

1:49:30

sort of ran through the question, went

1:49:32

back to, since, I mean, that's

1:49:34

the, sort of the drawback of them

1:49:36

introducing this cool new game

1:49:38

style at the top of a new season,

1:49:40

because I also feel like, okay, now

1:49:43

my gameplay has to be obligation,

1:49:45

got to go do my scoreboard

1:49:47

crap and da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da. And then by

1:49:49

the time I'm done doing on

1:49:51

the scoreboard stuff, I don't need

1:49:54

to go to go to bed.

1:49:56

So I guess I should be using the

1:49:58

goal to do my daily stuff. but the

1:50:00

character is not as good. So it's not

1:50:03

as fast, not as efficient to do

1:50:05

my daily quest. You definitely don't need

1:50:07

to, you know, play how you want

1:50:09

to play, and having a cool character

1:50:12

on the side, you can experiment

1:50:14

with it when you have time

1:50:16

to do that. Well, one thing I made,

1:50:18

the ghoul mask, so my ghoul is wearing

1:50:20

the ghoul mask. Your non-goul has

1:50:23

a goul mask, that's perfect.

1:50:25

Yeah. All right. So I'll just hit my

1:50:27

quick bullet point takeaways from this. So

1:50:29

this is my, these are my own

1:50:31

notes from things I've seen, playing

1:50:33

as a ghoul and from doing stuff.

1:50:36

We all know about becoming goals

1:50:38

of quest. Gameplay changes for goals

1:50:40

that you have to have a disguise

1:50:42

for certain missions which are usually

1:50:44

just main quest. No one else

1:50:47

is going to treat you that

1:50:49

different. You do automatically get a

1:50:51

minus 10 charisma. There are 28

1:50:53

new perk cards and two legendary

1:50:55

part cards. It's really 28 and two.

1:50:58

There are about 20 perk cards that

1:51:00

don't work for goals. And the

1:51:02

two new mechanics introduced, the two

1:51:04

things that are a big new

1:51:06

mechanics besides what the new perk cards

1:51:09

do, is your glow bar and your feral

1:51:11

meter. So what are those? Okay, the

1:51:13

glow bar. It means radiation heals,

1:51:15

and they create and grow a glow bar,

1:51:17

which is kind of like a bit of

1:51:19

a shield as it comes. Also. your

1:51:22

character will start to actually glow and

1:51:24

have like green mist around you like a

1:51:26

glowing one when you're fully powered up. What

1:51:28

glow does it helps it works to some of

1:51:30

your perks some of the different goul perks

1:51:32

you will make makes them activated

1:51:35

and it also boosts weapon damage. The

1:51:37

big old challenges to kind of come

1:51:39

from this are maintaining your glow because as

1:51:41

you know as you fight in these attacks

1:51:43

you're burning the glow to get more weapon

1:51:45

damage but then you have to refill it

1:51:47

or your glow gets depleted. Essentially,

1:51:49

you know, the best strategy to keep up

1:51:52

your glow like we're talking is have toxic,

1:51:54

go on hand, have a gamma gun, or

1:51:56

just hang out and dip in your mutation

1:51:58

pools a lot. You also want... to make sure

1:52:00

you have low radiation resistance in

1:52:02

order to be able to up your globe.

1:52:05

Because if you're wearing a lot of equipment,

1:52:07

rad resistance and stuff, I'm just going to

1:52:09

hurt your ability to actually gain glow. So

1:52:12

take a look at what you have on

1:52:14

your armor and your various suits and

1:52:16

stuff like that. What happens if you

1:52:18

have like what rads on your character? So

1:52:20

you can't use what rads as a ghoul.

1:52:22

That's one of those perks that has been

1:52:24

kind of disabled as a ghoul. Yep.

1:52:27

So the other meter besides global. Is

1:52:29

that a word? Ferality is what we

1:52:31

have instead of hunger and thirst. So

1:52:33

some people have been mentioning the feral

1:52:35

bar seems weird because you are fully

1:52:37

feral when it's at zero. So calling

1:52:40

it a feral meter, when it works

1:52:42

the opposite of what you'd expect, where

1:52:44

you're thinking, oh, when it hits the

1:52:46

hundred percent, you're fully feral. But no,

1:52:48

fully feral is zero. So instead of

1:52:51

thinking of it as a feral meter, think

1:52:53

of it more as a humanity or

1:52:55

a humanity or sanity. When it's out,

1:52:57

when it's out, that's when you're

1:52:59

fully feral. There's a lot to it,

1:53:01

and the more feral you get, there

1:53:04

are a bunch of different effects that

1:53:06

happen along the way. Let's take a

1:53:08

look at the feral meter real quick. When

1:53:10

it hits 100%, you do a lot more

1:53:12

melee damage, among other things. See,

1:53:14

fully feral, you get 150% mainly

1:53:17

damage, but you have reduced HP,

1:53:19

reduced VAT accuracy, etc. The buffs

1:53:21

kick into gear when the meters

1:53:23

kick into gear when the meters

1:53:25

about less feral. and the meter

1:53:28

depletes over time just like

1:53:30

hunger and thirst. So if you

1:53:32

do nothing, you slowly become

1:53:34

more and more feral. And I do

1:53:36

that thing where I hold my

1:53:38

hands up and then all of

1:53:40

the dead ghouls around me raise from

1:53:43

the dead and become empowered like

1:53:45

the neck romance or glowing one

1:53:47

sort of thing that they do?

1:53:50

Wouldn't that be great if you

1:53:52

could if you could actually raise other

1:53:54

goals from the dead with the goal

1:53:56

perk cards? Awesome. Now I'm thinking

1:53:59

I don't know all the new goal

1:54:01

perk cards yet, but I wonder if

1:54:03

there is one to heal other goals

1:54:05

around you. Just double checking

1:54:07

my list. Let's see, battle jeans,

1:54:10

now that usually would be like

1:54:12

medics. Yeah, like the goal

1:54:14

version of medic or whatever. Yeah,

1:54:16

like the goal version of medic

1:54:19

or whatever. Yeah, that's all I can

1:54:21

think of. I don't know if there

1:54:23

is a new perk to actually be

1:54:25

able to heal your companions

1:54:27

by spending. Big points, the

1:54:30

last thing is reverting to

1:54:32

human. We talked about that a bit

1:54:34

too. You can revert to human once.

1:54:36

So if you come a goal, you

1:54:38

don't like it. You want to go

1:54:40

back to human. You can do that

1:54:42

for free. So you can become a

1:54:44

goal on the quest line. You can

1:54:47

change back for free. How do you do

1:54:49

that for a goal on the quest line?

1:54:51

You can change back for free.

1:54:53

How do you do that? It's

1:54:55

actually choose to ungulify them there.

1:54:57

So you just you pay a thousand Adams

1:54:59

to be a ghoul again, which again, it's

1:55:02

an odd choice to make it monetary, but

1:55:04

I do get the idea of putting

1:55:06

some kind of stumbling block in the

1:55:08

way. It would be maybe better if

1:55:10

they made it like a couple of

1:55:12

hard quests, something you had to

1:55:15

grind and earn in game, like,

1:55:17

okay, you're ungoulified, now go do

1:55:19

like 10 expeditions, you know, get

1:55:21

a lot of radiation out there

1:55:23

on the Atlantic City shoreline, and you

1:55:25

can become a ghoul. Why would they

1:55:27

need to put up a roadblock? It

1:55:29

seems like they just don't want people,

1:55:32

even though law-breaking stuff is, you

1:55:34

know, okay in 76, with gameplay mechanics,

1:55:36

I think that maybe they decided that

1:55:38

would be just a kind of a

1:55:40

step too far. That in the actual

1:55:42

law, and as you're told on the Quest,

1:55:44

you can't become a goal and switch

1:55:47

back. It's a one-way trip. And maybe

1:55:49

as a nod to have people not become

1:55:51

ghoul, ungoul, ghoul, ungoul, ungoul, and constantly, you

1:55:53

know, messing up their perks, messing up the

1:55:55

way things work for them, they said, we

1:55:58

want to put a roadblock there, so. people

1:56:00

aren't just doing that. Personally,

1:56:02

I like it. I mean, I don't like the

1:56:04

fact they're charging money for it.

1:56:07

But I do think becoming a

1:56:09

Google and ungulifying, I don't know,

1:56:11

call my old-fashioned, but I do think

1:56:13

it should be something that's done easily.

1:56:15

Yeah. But let's see. Let's talk about

1:56:17

a couple of little issues that have

1:56:20

come up with the update, because no

1:56:22

update is without issues. So the

1:56:24

first big one is the perk

1:56:26

card. issue. So after the update

1:56:28

on Tuesday, some people were finding

1:56:30

that their loadouts would disappear or

1:56:32

change and some perk cards kept

1:56:34

being unmounted. That is always

1:56:36

a thing. People trying to figure out what

1:56:39

was what was going on with it

1:56:41

and why did it keep happening? Happened

1:56:43

most often when they were in

1:56:45

big battles or getting irradiated.

1:56:48

Well, it turns out it's connected

1:56:50

to the rad specialist perk mounted on

1:56:52

your build and you know, it's

1:56:54

actually activating. Then you're going to

1:56:56

lose, you're going to lose some

1:56:58

of your perk cards and they're

1:57:00

going to become unmounted. So that's just

1:57:02

a kind of a PSA warning

1:57:05

for everyone. If you're using rad

1:57:07

specialists, check your perk cards regularly to

1:57:09

make sure they're not being

1:57:11

unmounted. And personally, I might avoid it

1:57:13

for now. The other big thing, oh, it's a crashing.

1:57:15

Some people who have gone to become a

1:57:17

ghoul, they found that they weren't able to

1:57:19

become a ghoul because they do the quest.

1:57:21

And you have to do with the thing

1:57:24

that walk into the room and take the

1:57:26

drug and you become a ghoul, right Andrew?

1:57:28

So if you do that, it should

1:57:30

just happen, you sleep, you wake up,

1:57:32

you're gulified, okay, and with the storyline,

1:57:35

without giving spoilers at this point.

1:57:37

There were a large number of people who

1:57:39

every time they tried it, two, three, four

1:57:41

times in a row, they would crash. Every

1:57:43

time you get gulified, you crash,

1:57:45

and it wasn't working. It's been

1:57:48

very frustrating for the way the

1:57:50

system works. If you are wearing rad

1:57:52

resistant gear, if you have your rad

1:57:54

resistance up, it can actually stop the gulification

1:57:56

process and cause you to crash. This

1:57:59

is nothing. we found on the test

1:58:01

server. So I don't know what might

1:58:03

have changed, but say you go in

1:58:06

and you're wearing your Chinese stealth armor,

1:58:08

like when you go to become gulified,

1:58:10

walk into the chamber, you won't absorb

1:58:13

enough rads for the system to gulify

1:58:15

you and it will crash the game.

1:58:17

Your armor says hell no. Exactly. Like

1:58:19

it'll undo all of your rad resistance

1:58:22

perks. It has to lower your rad

1:58:24

resistance down to make you a ghoul.

1:58:26

So it nullifies those perks and brings

1:58:29

that down to zero. or you have

1:58:31

something else causing you to have high

1:58:33

rad resistance that the game can't remove,

1:58:36

that it would conflict with the base

1:58:38

code, it will crash your game. So

1:58:40

for anyone having trouble, that's exactly what's

1:58:43

going on. It's a feature. Isn't it?

1:58:45

Isn't it? Isn't it? You wouldn't think

1:58:47

that would be that. That's exactly what's

1:58:50

going on. It's a feature. Isn't it?

1:58:52

Isn't it? Isn't it pretty cool? Isn't

1:58:54

it's hilarious. And it's funny how things

1:58:56

like that don't show up in testing,

1:58:59

even when you do it. Yeah. The

1:59:01

final thing I want to mention on

1:59:03

Iguana bits, there was a question in

1:59:06

our fallout chat about another new mechanic

1:59:08

that has come up, the onslaught mechanic.

1:59:10

Yeah, I saw something about increases damage

1:59:13

on onslaught blah blah blah. I was

1:59:15

like, oh, what's that mean? It's kind

1:59:17

of a new system. It's works as

1:59:20

like a stack. But it's available to

1:59:22

everyone now. So in the past, you

1:59:24

get stacks from when equipment was furious.

1:59:26

You know what I mean? Like with

1:59:29

a furious weapon, you would use it

1:59:31

and you would gain stacks. Now with

1:59:33

the onslaught system, you can get damaged

1:59:36

stacks regardless of weapon. It increases the

1:59:38

damage based on the number of active

1:59:40

stacks you have. You get a plus

1:59:43

5% damage boost per stack you have.

1:59:45

If you have a furious weapon, using

1:59:47

that. That stack system still works. I'm

1:59:50

actually get the ability to have up

1:59:52

to nine stacks. So you get nine

1:59:54

stacks with a weapon, you get 5%

1:59:56

damage boost from each. That would be

1:59:59

a 45% damage boost with the furious.

2:00:01

But now you can get it other

2:00:03

ways. So you can get it using

2:00:06

Lipsi. You can get it using perk

2:00:08

cards. Gorilla Expert now gives you certain

2:00:10

stacks. Gorilla Master. Gun Slinger Expert. Gun

2:00:13

Slinger Master. Gun Slinger Master. And any

2:00:15

of those will end up boosting the

2:00:17

amount of stacks you can have. It's

2:00:20

a complicated system. Kind of hard to

2:00:22

break down now, but let's just say

2:00:24

you can increase your number of stacks

2:00:26

using the various cards. Spacks will build

2:00:29

up over time. If you stop attacking,

2:00:31

you lose about a stack a second.

2:00:33

So you have to keep attacking for

2:00:36

it to work. That's why it was

2:00:38

a furious thing before. In the past

2:00:40

with furious, the stack would go away

2:00:43

when you switched enemies. I don't believe

2:00:45

that is the case with the onslaught

2:00:47

stacks. Angry turtle again has the best

2:00:50

video on this, but it's a pretty

2:00:52

complicated system. You get the numbers, you

2:00:54

get the percentages, all that. But essentially...

2:00:57

Onslot is a stack system available to

2:00:59

everybody. That's the basics. A lot about

2:01:01

wraps up my bits. You have anything

2:01:03

else on that you want to bring

2:01:06

up, Andrew? Wow, I still haven't really

2:01:08

done enough with the ghoul stuff to

2:01:10

have lots of opinions on it yet.

2:01:13

Oh, yeah, the last thing I want

2:01:15

to mention about onslot, when you're using

2:01:17

shotguns or weapons like explosive that does

2:01:20

multiple hits, you get a stack per

2:01:22

hit. So if you have cars mounted

2:01:24

that add the on slot. Billy to

2:01:27

get stacks and using a shotgun that

2:01:29

does like eight hits at once like

2:01:31

shotguns do you're gonna get stacks real

2:01:33

fast so it's great with those and

2:01:36

because weapons there is one onslaught card

2:01:38

called gun slinger master and that's the

2:01:40

one that works opposite so instead of

2:01:43

getting a stack for every hit it

2:01:45

actually removes a stack for a hit

2:01:47

and they grow when you're not fighting

2:01:50

so it reverses it so if you

2:01:52

hear someone talking about about about having

2:01:54

some confusion with the stack system and

2:01:57

gun slinger master it's because that one

2:01:59

is the opposite of everything else so

2:02:01

using gun slinger master with an automatic

2:02:03

weapon Not a great choice, because you'll

2:02:06

spend all your stacks really fast on

2:02:08

low damage. So that is good for

2:02:10

a high damage, slow firing weapon, gun

2:02:13

slinger master. Yeah, it's a complicated system.

2:02:15

That's why I wanted to mention that,

2:02:17

because it was brought up in chat

2:02:20

that that was a little confusing to

2:02:22

people. Yeah, it's going to take some

2:02:24

getting used to. Mm-hmm. Chat's driving in

2:02:27

delicious bits, juicy bits. You got it,

2:02:29

guys. Happy to serve them up. Fresh

2:02:31

and hot. Fresh and hot. Fasty bits.

2:02:34

Any shoutouts tonight. Any shoutouts tonight. Andrew?

2:02:36

Don't think so off the top of

2:02:38

my head. Oh, I hope Angel's tooth

2:02:40

feels better. How about that? That's true.

2:02:43

Yeah, our friend Angel, she's been on

2:02:45

the show before, done some play-along with

2:02:47

us, side of her face, and welled

2:02:50

up. So I hope you feel better,

2:02:52

Angel, for sure. Yeah, yeah. Speedy recovery.

2:02:54

Yeah, I hope she's not becoming a

2:02:57

ghoul. Skin care routine for ghouls. That's

2:02:59

just a cover-up. Could be, but no,

2:03:01

I mean, what a business that would

2:03:04

be, skin care in the ghoul age.

2:03:06

We need a whole line of fashion

2:03:08

and cosmetic installments for ghouls now. Betty

2:03:10

no-nose out there, pitch in the new

2:03:13

makeup. Oh my gosh, yeah. I want

2:03:15

to give a quick shout-out to a

2:03:17

fudge-muppet video. Brennan-annan-an-nannan-nandon, just shared in our

2:03:20

Skyrum chatrum chatroom chat in the discord.

2:03:22

Fudge Muppet put out a video, everything

2:03:24

Skyram players need to know before oblivion.

2:03:27

So we love Fudge Muppet, builds and

2:03:29

various ideas. A great channel, they've got

2:03:31

a nice little primer. If you're a

2:03:34

Skyram or Fall Out player, hasn't gone

2:03:36

back to oblivion. It's going to kind

2:03:38

of give you a primer on things

2:03:40

you need to know. I mean, assuming

2:03:43

the remixed here is real, right? What

2:03:45

if it doesn't happen at all? Also

2:03:47

I want to give a quick shout

2:03:50

out to my deems. hopefully hanging out

2:03:52

with them this weekend and there should

2:03:54

be a new read slightly old dames

2:03:57

episode out again soon because we never

2:03:59

get to get to record a new

2:04:01

one. Usually make sure to put out

2:04:04

an old one. We're almost caught up.

2:04:06

We only recorded one episode last year

2:04:08

so even being almost caught up. they're

2:04:11

still older. It's still awesome to listen

2:04:13

to. I appreciate that. Gonna be great

2:04:15

to catch up with them tomorrow and

2:04:17

see what's going on, what books they've

2:04:20

been reading and such. Yeah, good time.

2:04:22

All right, well in that case you

2:04:24
