podcasting biscuits McShits Hello

0:28

and welcome to the 506th

0:30

edition of the Fallout Feed. I

0:32

am Andrew, joined by a

0:34

few of my favorite Fallout folks

0:36

tonight. I've got Ray. What's up,

0:38

Ray? Hello, hello. And

0:41

Jess. What's going on, Jess? Kapow.

0:43

Hey, Andrew. Greetings, everybody. Kapow.

0:46

Tonight on the show, go

0:48

over some gameplay right off the

0:50

top. Got some feedback from

0:52

our group here, closing down our

0:54

adventures there in Skyline Valley. We

0:57

are here from Solior,

0:59

Lee, Vanessa, and Sean. Also

1:02

got some good Iguana bits,

1:04

juicy, juicy bits on the way.

1:06

So let's go ahead and

1:08

roll right into our show. See

1:11

what everyone's been getting into and say, hey, Jess, did you get

1:13

a chance to play a video game this week? I

1:16

did. I did. But it was another weird

1:18

one. I feel like it's been nothing

1:20

but weird ones lately, right? Yeah.

1:22

I mean, we've been playing I'm

1:24

gonna hit that groove with the round table

1:27

for such a long time that now

1:29

you're just you like Even subconsciously your brain

1:31

is sort of forcing you out

1:33

to other things, you know Yeah, yeah, you're

1:35

waiting for the you're waiting for the next

1:37

big thing because you finished the round table You're

1:39

waiting for the next big thing because you

1:41

think oblivion might be coming out in

1:43

a few days He laughs you're waiting

1:45

any second now And

1:47

he's got to be tomorrow you're waiting for

1:49

the next big thing because you finished the

1:52

last game You played almost almost but you

1:54

didn't quite finish it. That's that's me

1:56

with a vowed I still didn't finish But what I did

1:58

play this week a lot a lot of a little things are

2:00

a little bit of a lot of things I

2:02

think it's the way to put it So there

2:04

is a new game that a lot of people

2:06

are talking about called blueprint Did

2:08

I talk about this last week at all? Like

2:11

a paw like a fingerprint prints

2:13

or like prints like Queen King

2:16

print. Well, it's kind of a

2:18

play on words because blue prints

2:20

spelled like the little prints like

2:22

a prince that is blue. OK.

2:25

But your it takes place in

2:27

a house and you're laying

2:29

down room plans and floor plans.

2:31

So it's literally print. Oh,

2:33

OK. Interesting. Oh,

2:35

so they're clever. Anyway, it is a

2:38

puzzle game, but it's not a normal puzzle

2:40

game. When you say puzzle game, you

2:42

think games like the witness, you think

2:44

games where you go to different rooms

2:46

and you solve puzzles, you know, maybe

2:48

seventh guest. That's if you want to go

2:50

way back, that sort of thing. Blueprints is

2:52

a little bit like that, but it's

2:54

also a little bit more like a

2:56

walking simulator or say mist, mist and

2:59

ribbon, that kind of thing. So

3:01

it's a like puzzle game. Yeah.

3:04

Yeah, that's what's interesting. It's a kind of a puzzle

3:06

game for people who don't like puzzle games. But

3:08

it's also because honestly, you can play

3:10

like I've had people who have said,

3:12

I've played for two hours and I

3:14

feel I've only done like four actual

3:16

puzzles, you know, because some of the

3:18

rooms have puzzles, some don't. So the

3:20

way it works, it's almost like,

3:22

you know, how there are games where you can like deal

3:24

down cards as rooms and like each card you go to and

3:26

then you kind of progress through, then you go to the

3:28

next one. Or in a way, hero quest

3:31

is like that where you're on the room and then whatever

3:33

you deal is what happens in the room. You know that?

3:35

No, I played that one. OK. Well, we

3:37

were talking about Hero Quest with Andrew a couple

3:39

of weeks ago. Oh, yeah. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Yes. So

3:42

in this one, what it is

3:44

you essentially there, you have to

3:46

find the 46th room in a

3:48

45 room mansion. So each

3:51

day when you start, essentially, you're a character who's

3:53

inherited this mansion. Each day when you start, you

3:55

start in the foyer and you go to one

3:57

of three doors. And when you get to the

3:59

door, you get. It draws a couple cards and

4:01

you choose which room is going to be behind

4:03

it. And the rooms only have

4:05

a certain number of doors in and out. So you kind

4:07

of lay down the floor plan. You go into that room.

4:09

There are more doors. You lay down the floor plan and

4:12

you have to try to hope that you don't just run

4:14

into dead ends as you go. And also you make discoveries

4:16

and find puzzles along the way. But a lot of the

4:18

puzzles are subtle. So there are obvious ones like the classic

4:20

one of these is true. One of these is false kind

4:22

of puzzles. There are math puzzles. There are

4:24

stuff like that. But most of the time you're

4:26

just putting down a room walking through it and then

4:28

After a while, suddenly, you realize some things go

4:30

together. You realize that pushing a button in this room

4:32

lets something happen in another room if you happen

4:35

to get both of them on the board. But

4:37

when you run to a dead end, each

4:39

time, you only have 50 steps. And after

4:41

you've run out of 50 steps, which you

4:43

use a step per room, you have to

4:46

start over the next day. Basically, the

4:48

idea is if you want to keep this

4:50

mansion you inherited from your maybe slightly eccentric

4:52

uncle, you have to find the 46 room.

4:54

But there is no actual end date. You

4:56

can keep playing. day after day after day.

4:58

Anyway, I'm on like day nine or 10

5:00

now, and it's just really, it's a fun

5:02

game. So I put about probably four hours

5:05

into it this week. And

5:07

I mean, I don't know if I'll stick with

5:09

it, but it's one of those ones that you can

5:11

do just one run, take like 20,

5:13

30 minutes to a run and be like, okay, I'm good

5:15

and do something else. So we'll see. But

5:17

yeah, I don't know if I made a compelling argument

5:19

for why it's interesting. It's some of us.

5:22

I said that it's puzzle game people who don't like puzzle

5:24

games because it kind of is. You know what I

5:26

mean? Like you can just kind of keep going through and

5:28

eventually you'll figure things out. Like it'll just come to

5:31

you like, oh, wait, I pushed this button. I did this

5:33

thing and that makes sense. Oh, wait, I got this.

5:35

This works. But it's also, I don't know.

5:37

It's just, it's clever. It's clever. And it

5:39

makes you feel smart when you figure things out.

5:41

Like not, not a spoiler. But when I

5:43

realized after like a third room, like, wait, what

5:45

if I turned around and walked outside the door

5:48

instead of going into the mansion and you can do

5:50

that? And there's stuff outside to find. And I'm

5:52

like, oh. And then at another point,

5:54

I found a way to leave a room that

5:56

went to the outside and I got to a new

5:58

outside area. I'm like, oh. So

6:00

it's just got lots of little things like

6:02

that. That's fun. Yeah. So

6:05

I'm playing that. I also,

6:07

OK, they made a game that

6:09

was specifically for me, perhaps.

6:11

Oh. It's called Lushfoil, the photography

6:13

simulator. I don't know if

6:15

you guys heard about this, but it's

6:17

literally A photography, a video game photography simulator.

6:20

Lush foil photography sim.

6:24

Yep, you load in, you walk around,

6:26

world's made in Unreal 5, you get a

6:28

camera and you take pictures and that's

6:30

the entire game. There are objectives along

6:32

the way. You know, they're like, take

6:34

a picture of this and take a picture

6:36

of that. But it's mostly just really, really pretty.

6:38

And it's sent out to you more of a

6:41

real photography simulator. So you use a camera. with

6:43

actual real functions. You know, you've got your aperture,

6:45

your f -stop, your ISO, all the classic stuff. So

6:48

you might say, how is that a game?

6:50

And I'll say, it's not really. It's

6:52

a simulator, but but it's really pretty.

6:54

So I've been having fun with that, too.

6:57

Cool. Now I

6:59

pulled up a few shots. It looks

7:01

awesome. Yeah. Oh, you're

7:03

taking a look at it now.

7:05

It looks like you're in Yosemite or

7:07

you're going to real life locations.

7:09

Yeah, they've got Italy and And they

7:11

have the Wyoming. Yep. Absolutely. There

7:13

are some really cool looking locations. The

7:15

problem is it is made for PC first, even though

7:17

it's on PlayStation Xbox. So messaging

7:20

the author, hey, how do we

7:22

get these pictures we're taking? And right

7:24

now you actually just have to

7:26

screenshot them. Like with the Xbox

7:28

button, even though you're telling it to what

7:30

how to take pictures, you can tell it

7:32

to take pictures in like extra high resolution,

7:34

like 4K resolution, even though you're not playing

7:36

in 4K. If you're on PC, you can

7:38

access them. But if you're on, if you're

7:40

on Xbox, you can't, you don't have

7:42

access to the folder. Like you

7:44

probably should have thought of this while programming

7:46

it. Yeah. So anyway, but hopefully

7:48

we get some improvements and I'm having fun

7:50

with it for our actual Fallout people,

7:52

Fallout fans out there. I only

7:54

played a little this week. We did, we did

7:56

another flash mob over at the Gato on

7:58

Saturday. This was, we didn't

8:00

celebrate St. Biv's Day earlier this year. Do

8:03

you guys remember St. Biv's Day? Yeah,

8:05

that rings a bell. Yeah, it's holiday. We

8:07

came up with a couple years ago for

8:09

the day that St. Biv. He

8:12

tried to chase all the snakes out of Ireland,

8:14

but he was a drink too much. He got

8:16

lost. That's why St. Patrick did

8:18

it. But Biv tried to help chasing the snakes

8:20

out of Appalachia himself. But yeah,

8:22

so we did a parade in honor of

8:24

St. Biv a couple years in a row. This

8:26

year, we started to do a flash mom.

8:28

So it was great. A lot of friends showed

8:30

up. Our friend, Rando and Sylior in our

8:32

chat right now show up and joined. few of

8:34

our other friends joined. It was a, we

8:36

had a pretty full server for a bit. It

8:38

was, it was great. Everybody wearing their leprechaun

8:41

mask or their leprechaun mask, depending. It

8:43

was, there's the, there's the

8:45

Raider leprechaun. He's got like the

8:47

evil eyes and the knife. But

8:50

yeah, so we've got those. That was a

8:52

lot of fun. But besides that, just did a

8:54

did a moth man and a couple of events,

8:56

nothing special to report in 76. And

8:58

I think that's about it for gaming

9:00

you were talking about here a quest

9:02

a second ago Sorry got distracted for

9:04

a minute because I was looking up

9:06

blueprints and it was saying it's like

9:08

a Some some I don't know commenter

9:10

reviewer, whatever was saying that it's the

9:12

best puzzle and rogue like they've ever

9:14

played And I was like, like, I

9:16

think Jess has told me like 12

9:18

times what the fuck that means. But

9:20

I'm like, okay, wait second. I went

9:22

down the tunnel. I was like, oh,

9:25

okay, it's like the turn base randomly

9:27

generated that level. Okay, that is hero

9:29

question. Okay, that's what it is. Every

9:31

run you start a new run is

9:33

different. a roguelike. And the difference between

9:35

a roguelike and a roguelite is that

9:37

roguelites, you have some progression. So eventually,

9:39

sometimes you get like permanent buffs or

9:41

your character permanently levels that you can

9:43

then take with it. So when you

9:45

do a new run, You have some

9:47

advantage, whereas a true rogue like you

9:49

have absolutely no advantage. You start from

9:51

zero every time. And what

9:53

about an actual rogue? Well,

9:55

that came out in what? Like, was it like

9:57

early 80s? The actual game came out. They're all named

9:59

after. That was funny. The rogue

10:01

was an ASCII art style. Was it a

10:03

tabletop game or something? What was? No,

10:06

it's an old PC game. It's an old

10:08

PC game. And it was done with kind

10:10

of like the old style ASCII art with

10:12

X's and O's. And you're moving the character

10:14

through these procedurally generated little dungeon rooms. Oh,

10:16

that's fun. I love shit like that. It's

10:19

classic for sure. I also want to mention,

10:21

you know, since they're talking about it in chat.

10:23

So it's referring to game that's why it's...

10:25

Okay, that makes so much more sense now. Like

10:27

the game Rogue. It's like when they call

10:29

something a Metroidvania, because it's like Metroid and Castlevania.

10:31

Yeah, I just saw that term for the...

10:33

Has that been widely used for a long time?

10:35

Because I just saw that... Good six, seven

10:37

years at least. Okay, I saw a few months

10:39

ago, and then I saw it again yesterday,

10:41

and I was like, okay, this is a thing

10:43

now. What does that mean? But

10:45

I knew what they meant. meant just

10:48

out of like context. But

10:50

yeah, it's such a good description. And that's exactly what

10:52

it means. Like Ori is a Metroidvania. Any of those

10:54

games where you kind of have to get unlocked and

10:56

you backtrack and you fill out the map by discovering

10:58

ways to get to places you couldn't get to earlier.

11:01

a Metroidvania. The other one is Souls like. So

11:03

like a roguelike is Souls like. And that's

11:05

like any game like Elder Scrolls. I'm sorry. Elder

11:07

Scrolls. Sorry. Dark Souls. Elder

11:10

Souls. We

11:12

need a Scrolls like we need

11:14

more Scrolls likes because let's be honest,

11:16

aren't many games like Skyrim or

11:19

oblivion or what have you all game

11:21

should be like Skyrim games want

11:23

to be you know But fallout Skyrim

11:25

like our open world but those

11:27

the games are kind of their own

11:29

thing. They're there have been a

11:31

few Scrolls likes over the years. I

11:34

suppose dragons dogma tries to be

11:36

kind of Witcher tries to be kind

11:38

of but But they're not right.

11:40

They're not no no do the other

11:42

scrolls play a much larger role

11:44

in Parts one through four Than

11:47

they do in Skyrim. I just feel like

11:49

you see the scrolls like once or twice

11:51

in the game But but to be called

11:53

the elder scrolls you think that like everything

11:55

would revolve around these fucking scrolls, you know

11:57

They play the largest part in four and

11:59

five Skyrim and Oblivion are the two they

12:01

play biggest part in really. Okay, so the

12:03

arena they just don't even mention them I

12:05

mean, they know they probably mentioned them plenty

12:07

and I to be fair I've never played

12:09

arena. I've only played dagger fall forward but

12:11

the idea is the elder scrolls written by

12:13

the gods and they talk about the genesis

12:15

of the world but Like in Morrowind, you

12:17

never deal with an actual Elder Scroll. In

12:19

Oblivion, you have to use a

12:22

spoiler alert for a 19 -year -old game

12:24

who might be coming out again

12:26

soon. You have to steal an Elder

12:28

Scroll in one questline. Okay, what's the spoilers

12:30

on that? Famous Skyrim. For a re -release.

12:32

Do you have to be like, okay, there's

12:34

going to be a bunch of people who've

12:36

never played this game before. Do you have

12:38

to do double spoilers on a game that's

12:40

20 fucking years old? respectful and warn people

12:42

that you're about to say something and then

12:44

don't say anything major, like a real spoiler, like

12:47

a huge one, maybe don't say, but saying that

12:49

you might have to steal another scroll, that says

12:51

nothing. Nobody knows what or where any contacts, right?

12:53

That's my home. You ruined the game for me.

12:56

I'm sorry. It was blaming on the Gray Fox.

12:58

I didn't do it. Oh, now I

13:00

said too much. But what I

13:02

was going to say was the guys

13:04

mentioning in chat PSA for people

13:06

who have been gulified if you don't

13:08

know if you haven't seen yet

13:10

some of the fosh -knocked masks and

13:12

a few others do crazy stretching of

13:15

hilarious proportions If you're a ghoul

13:17

and you put them on what so

13:19

if you look in the discord

13:21

chat right now You will see rando

13:23

the alien fosh -knocked max gets all

13:25

stretched out all funky. Well, that's

13:27

fun It also happens totally

13:29

xenomorph. He's got the xenomorph. That's

13:31

why right. It also happens with the

13:33

schnocked robot mask. It happens with the foshnocked.

13:35

There's one of the foshnocked mask. It

13:37

happens with you guys. Can you remind me

13:39

and chat, please? But the unicorn.

13:42

Thank you. The unicorn, the methacorn

13:44

gets like super flat nose. It looks

13:46

like a duckbill platica way. No

13:48

way. I have I have the unicorn.

13:51

So what's it look like when I am a ghoul?

13:53

What's it look like when it's normal? That means

13:55

I don't know what it looks like when it's regular.

13:57

So I'm going to look at him be like, ooh, his face

13:59

is all squished. Yeah,

14:01

it looks more like a horse's head normal.

14:04

It's right now. It's got like an extra

14:06

long. It's like a duck -billed unicorn. Oh my

14:08

goodness. Hilarious. Super funny. But also the rabbit

14:11

mask. For those of you who have the

14:13

rabbit mask, we were testing and that one

14:15

gets stretched for some people. So

14:17

there may be others. We may not have found them

14:19

all, but it's just a little funny thing. Now

14:22

Jackalope's normal. Most of them are normal. The

14:24

Jester's normal. Oh, the

14:26

one -eared rabbit mask? Yeah,

14:28

the one -eared rabbit. So not just

14:30

fashion -knocked ones. Okay. That's

14:33

cool. Yeah, just something to

14:35

do with the whole making the new face for the

14:37

ghoul. The way it meshes is wacky. Wow,

14:39

that's really interesting. There's a little

14:41

fun 76 tidbit. People

14:44

will share more pics if they have them. But

14:46

it was great. It was great fun playing with a

14:48

lot of people. You know, when I did play...

14:50

So in 76 this week, just ran around the people.

14:52

Always fun. But that's it

14:54

for me, really. I'm sure

14:56

you and Ray have been up to

14:58

stuff. No, I don't do stuff anymore. Ray,

15:01

how about you? Did you get any gaming in

15:03

under your belt this week, sir? I

15:05

did play a lot of game. Oh, a

15:07

lot of game. Oh, wait, you dropped an

15:09

S there, right? Let me

15:11

pick up that S for you. What

15:13

do you mean? First

15:16

off, I've started having problems with

15:18

my No Man's Sky install. And

15:22

I haven't been able to

15:24

figure out how to fix it

15:26

permanently. Did you tell

15:28

your computer you have a podcast to do? It

15:31

told me I was going to have to wait.

15:34

Oh, no. So I

15:36

took a couple of runs at

15:38

fixing it. It didn't work. So,

15:41

of course, I took the

15:43

path of least resistance. and

15:45

played more Starfield and then played

15:47

more Starfield. You get into space

15:49

somehow. And more and more and

15:51

more. And so all I played,

15:54

I did dip momentarily

15:56

into 76 to unload all

15:58

of the somewhat noteworthy

16:00

gear that I had

16:03

picked up in the

16:05

round table run and drop

16:07

it to my more

16:09

or less main character

16:11

and then I installed

16:13

the game. So.

16:15

No. Really? You

16:17

uninstalled the game? Well,

16:19

so my justification was that I

16:21

did it because I needed to check

16:24

and see if it was because

16:26

I'd gotten over two thirds full

16:28

on my two terabyte gaming hard drive.

16:30

Oh, that's smart. OK. It

16:32

wasn't it. No, it wasn't. Was

16:35

it? But I didn't reinstall it. No,

16:37

you uninstalled Fallout 76 because, you

16:39

know, we're not doing another 76 round table for a

16:41

while. And then I

16:43

played more Starfield. So what

16:45

what's causing your your nomad sky

16:47

issues that I'm not sure

16:50

it's it's It's something that's out

16:52

there You know, of course

16:54

when you start looking you find

16:56

all kinds of people that

16:58

are talking about how it's happening

17:00

to them Oh, so it's

17:03

not unusual. Okay. Yeah, and But

17:05

nobody's figured out how to

17:07

fix it. So We'll see I'll

17:09

I'll try a few more

17:11

things I probably will uninstall No

17:13

Man's Sky and then reinstall it. And

17:15

what are the symptoms? Crashing

17:18

or something or what? Well,

17:20

no, when I start up a

17:22

game, when I load into

17:24

the game, it's really glitchy and

17:27

stuttery and the the graphics

17:29

are all blurred and you really

17:31

can't do anything. Did

17:33

you pop the game out and blow on it and

17:35

then put it back in? Yeah, that

17:37

didn't fit. Damn. I

17:39

tried dropping all my video

17:41

settings. But the weird

17:43

thing is, if you just

17:45

keep loading in, eventually

17:47

you'll get a good one. You'll

17:49

get a good one. And

17:52

it'll play just fine. This is like it

17:54

has to find its groove or something. Yeah,

17:56

something. I don't know what it is. So

17:58

it's been it's been a

18:00

little frustrating because there's stuff I

18:02

need to do. You

18:05

know, there's fortunately. I'd

18:07

gotten all the big stuff done. I

18:09

think I might actually have

18:12

an episode of BBC to

18:14

upload. But I've

18:16

been playing at Starfield. Good

18:18

for you. Yeah, when you have a podcast to do,

18:20

but Starfield won't play itself. And

18:23

fortunately, my co -hosts are incredibly

18:25

busy right now. You're like,

18:27

sweet. So they're not guilting you

18:29

at all. Well, they're like,

18:31

I'm really sorry. I can't record

18:33

this week. Oh, oh,

18:35

I guess I'll go play games.

18:38

I'm hoping you, you know, everything goes

18:40

well for you. And we'll see you

18:42

next week. And then go play

18:44

Starfield. Lee Lee mentioned that

18:46

you might have too many characters. Is

18:48

that causing your your jittering issues?

18:51

Impossible. No. Never.

18:53

What game do you have the most characters

18:55

in Fallout 4, I'm guessing. It's

18:58

hard to say. Fallout

19:00

4. I think

19:02

probably if you looked at

19:04

my save file on the,

19:06

the thing is, is that

19:08

they're spread out over multiple

19:10

PCs. And you clean them out

19:13

sometimes, right? You could come out of the nest after a

19:15

while when it gets to fall. Occasionally, occasionally. Surprisingly,

19:19

or possibly not surprisingly, Starfield

19:21

is the worst. Possibly

19:24

not surprisingly. Starfield is the worst in

19:26

what way? He was doing a new

19:28

character a week for a while there,

19:31

weren't you? Well, it won't let you...

19:33

You know, it starts giving me warnings.

19:36

Your save file is too big.

19:38

You need to delete some

19:40

saves. And it

19:42

all started happening when

19:44

I got my level 200

19:46

plus character going. And

19:49

so I think those saves are

19:51

just a little bit too big. A

19:54

little too large, right? For the

19:56

handler in Starfield. But I'm not

19:58

going to delete that one. Got to keep at

20:00

least a couple of those saves, even if you

20:02

did most. Yeah. I

20:04

really, really, really

20:06

want a character in

20:08

Starfield that can

20:11

just wander. One

20:13

of my favorite things to

20:15

do in No Man's Sky

20:17

is to, you know, start

20:19

off on a planet and

20:21

don't go to your spaceship.

20:24

Just start walking. And,

20:27

you know, you gather things

20:29

along the way, you sell

20:31

them at the various traders you

20:33

come across. So you're making a

20:35

little cash, you know, getting

20:37

some nice things, but you're

20:39

just walking across this planet.

20:42

Now Baker's done it where he

20:44

walked all the way around

20:46

from one from starting point all

20:48

the way around this planet.

20:50

He circumnavigated the globe. And

20:52

back to this same location. That's

20:55

amazing. Vasco de Baker. And

20:59

you know, I just really want

21:01

to be able to do that in

21:03

Starfield. But I just

21:05

can't make it happen. Just not

21:08

set up that way. And there's no way

21:10

to really like identify the square on the

21:12

map where you've landed. Like you have a

21:14

point, but it doesn't like hollow out a

21:16

square. So you can actually see physically. This

21:18

is exactly where I've explored so far. Right.

21:20

Can you how many settlements can you build?

21:24

Without skills you can build eight. Yep,

21:27

and then you get more and more each time,

21:29

right? Build eight on one planet or do they

21:31

have to be on different planets? No, I think

21:33

you can have four on one planet. No,

21:35

maybe not. Maybe can have more. I think they

21:37

might be able to all be on one. They

21:40

might be able to be all on one. I

21:42

think I'm thinking about No Man's Sky. That one

21:44

limits the number you can have on a single

21:46

planet. All right, so you

21:48

need just a planet that you

21:50

can station every, you know, Couple

21:52

hundred miles. Well, in real

21:54

life, a hundred miles. I

21:57

don't know. You can put

21:59

this together. You can do

22:01

it. But the thing is

22:03

that the way that the

22:05

way that Starfield renders, when

22:08

you land in a spot,

22:10

it populates all these points

22:12

of interest around that landing

22:14

site. And it keeps

22:16

it. And if you

22:18

want to get up and leave,

22:20

right? Well, if you fly

22:22

back to the same spot, it'll

22:25

be like that forever. It'll

22:27

be like that forever. But if

22:29

you walk to the limit

22:31

of that space, which

22:33

I think is like 6 ,000

22:35

meters in either direction, then

22:37

there's a hard wall.

22:40

There's nothing you can do to get

22:42

beyond that spot. But the actual

22:44

area you can wander in Starfield, Andrew,

22:46

is larger than Skyrim. I don't think I've

22:48

wandered that far. Are there rovers? Is

22:50

there a way to get from point A

22:53

to point B faster without your ship? Is

22:55

there a horseback? Yeah, there's

22:57

your vehicle. There's a vehicle? Okay. Yeah.

23:00

I've never built one. Which, depending on how

23:02

many rocks are on the planet, it's

23:04

faster to run. It really is. It really

23:06

is. Or get an orbital shuttle like

23:08

I have. There are no rocks in the

23:10

sky yet. Oh, that's hilarious.

23:13

That would be a fun planet. More

23:15

floating rocks. Can you kind of...

23:17

like airborne bouncy with on like a

23:19

low graph planet in your in

23:21

your rover. Oh, that's fun. It sounds

23:23

great. That sounds great. So

23:25

I tried again to, you

23:27

know, to come up with

23:29

one. I turned all of

23:32

the the survival setting up

23:34

up to the max. And

23:36

so I had almost no

23:38

carry weight and had to

23:41

eat and and drink and

23:43

and everything. And. There

23:45

was just no way to make

23:47

it like a true wandering character.

23:50

You had to explore around the area

23:52

that you were in and fly

23:54

to another area, wander around that fly

23:56

to another area that just didn't

23:58

work out. So I killed that

24:00

one. I'm still exploring. It's just

24:02

not by foot. Yeah. But

24:05

that's that's what I was looking

24:07

for. How about how about

24:09

by canoe? Can you can you Lewis

24:11

and Clark it? No. Well,

24:14

I mean, you can swim. Are

24:16

there rivers now? I've only ever

24:18

seen like large bodies of water.

24:20

There's oceans. I know there's

24:23

oceans, but do they have like flowing rivers? No.

24:27

So I started going through

24:29

Nexus again, looking for something.

24:31

So I came up with

24:33

a few different mods. I came

24:35

up with good food that

24:38

changes the the benefits that you

24:40

get from food so that

24:42

they're more tied

24:44

to the volume of food that,

24:46

you know, is in like,

24:48

if you're eating a spaghetti and

24:50

meatballs, it's going to do

24:52

more for you than just an

24:54

apple. And I also loaded

24:56

in a sustenance overall. Nice.

24:59

The first the first point you

25:01

made was saying that an apple and

25:03

spaghetti gives you the same HP

25:05

back or something. Is that what you're

25:07

saying? In the regular game. Yeah. So

25:10

the mod actually just values

25:12

spaghetti higher. Yeah, gives you

25:14

does it give you more,

25:16

you know, more more advantages

25:18

than the there's one called

25:20

vitality and sustenance and garlic

25:23

breath. Yeah. And

25:25

that one actually gets rid

25:27

of the regular sustenance perk,

25:29

which is it's either you

25:32

or your your fat or

25:34

you're not. So either you

25:36

have all of these benefits

25:38

or not there. it's either

25:41

positive or negative. There's no,

25:44

you know, there's nothing in between.

25:46

It's all or nothing. And

25:48

so this overall makes

25:50

it a sliding scale. So

25:53

if you're, if

25:55

you haven't eaten in a while, you're just a

25:57

little bit hungry. You might

25:59

have less of the

26:01

positive effects, but you're not

26:03

getting negative effects. Just

26:06

more intelligent just more in intelligent

26:08

kind of an overhaul for the system.

26:10

That's good. Yeah, Ray. I just

26:12

wanted to show you this right here.

26:14

This is a recipe in the

26:16

Starfield cookbook that I think you would

26:18

really like Xenofresh paella. Oh, cool.

26:20

Xenofresh paella is a very rare, very

26:22

looking recipe. And

26:25

I I also

26:27

loaded a mod that's

26:29

called the hunting

26:31

trophy that you get

26:33

more. craftable

26:36

items out of

26:38

the aliens that you

26:40

might harvest using

26:43

the the food industry

26:45

term for killing

26:47

things. Right. Harvest. Yeah.

26:49

But no, that's good. So you're adding a

26:51

lot to this system. I mean, this is

26:53

kind of part of your overall Starfield overhaul,

26:55

right? Like, are these getting added to your

26:57

list of essential mods? Are you trying them

26:59

out now? I'm just trying them out. See

27:01

how they work. So far,

27:04

they've all Also with

27:06

the hunting trophy mod,

27:08

you can build taxidermy

27:10

in your outpost. So

27:12

you can, you know, mount

27:14

the various creatures. Can

27:17

you mount a scorchbeast queen, though? That's the question. Oh,

27:19

Bethesda, you and your mounted creatures. Yeah.

27:22

But then all the all

27:24

the all the fireworks

27:27

went off when I came

27:29

across. So SKK

27:31

mods is. is a

27:33

modder that I've got a lot

27:35

of different stuff I've used forever. Is

27:38

alternate start and stuff? Yeah, is

27:40

alternate start and is unlimited

27:42

storage and all kinds of

27:44

different things. And I came

27:47

across a mod called the

27:49

Crimson Start new game. OK.

27:52

So this, when you start a new

27:54

game, you are a

27:56

pirate at the

27:58

key in full pirate

28:00

gear. with your

28:03

own ghost spaceship.

28:05

You're a member of the Crimson Fleet. You

28:08

have the choice of,

28:11

so it asks you about the,

28:13

well, would you join sys

28:15

staff? And you can

28:17

answer either maybe if you want

28:19

to go down the spy

28:21

on the Crimson Fleet quest line

28:23

or never, which immediately makes

28:25

you an enemy of the sys

28:28

staff. And of course,

28:30

that's the one I took. And

28:32

so previously, when I wanted

28:34

to be a pirate, I

28:36

had a mod that if

28:38

you racked up a high enough

28:40

bounty, the pirates

28:42

would stop you and say, hey,

28:45

you know, we think

28:47

you're Crimson Fleet material. Right.

28:49

Come and join us. Because

28:51

I never really did like the way that

28:53

you start the Crimson Fleet. That you have

28:55

to basically be a double agent to start,

28:57

even if you decide to change your mind.

28:59

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So this

29:01

one this one was just like

29:03

the angel singing This was

29:05

this was absolute perfection for me

29:07

for starting a pirate character.

29:09

How did it go? Great

29:12

Got my little pirate, you

29:14

know Immediately took off from the

29:16

key and flew to Serpentis

29:18

so I could stock up on

29:20

goods do you think I

29:22

I Definitely need to get to

29:24

level eight as quickly as

29:26

I can what happens at eight

29:28

that you have access to

29:30

the PB 30. Oh, your boosters

29:32

or whatever. No. Oh,

29:35

the cannons. Right. Your

29:37

blaster things. What does

29:39

a pirate ship look like in

29:41

space? Can you put like a skull

29:43

and crossbones on it? You don't

29:45

really have sales and shit, you know?

29:47

So how do you indicate? Not

29:50

that you want to advertise that

29:52

because. Like, won't the cops hassle

29:54

you more? They've got their own style, but

29:56

here's the skull and crossbones. I just dropped in

29:58

the discord that the that they use. Oh,

30:00

they actually do have a skull and crossbones. Yeah,

30:02

they've got a logo like most factions. Oh,

30:04

nice. Yeah. So.

30:07

But yeah, so that that's been a lot of

30:10

fun so far. But it's

30:12

I've really enjoyed the

30:14

the vitality and sustenance overall.

30:16

That's been good. Good

30:18

food. add some

30:21

interesting stuff. I haven't

30:23

started down the gastronomy

30:25

skill set yet to

30:27

start unlocking the new

30:29

recipes, but I definitely

30:31

have a lot of

30:33

stuff to try. Yeah,

30:36

there are going to be more and more good

30:38

creations and mods out there. Oh, yeah. like to

30:40

see them. And some of the big ones are

30:43

hitting. Like, I mean, we know they kind of

30:45

started this winter with bigger ones hitting, but we're

30:47

not even next two months from now. We'll be

30:49

at a year since the creation kids spent out.

30:51

So give them time. But this whole, I was

30:53

talking about the Dark Star overhaul the other day

30:55

and the way it blends in level scaling and

30:57

shipbuilding and outpost building and just some really

30:59

cool features. Eventually, we'll get more

31:02

and more overhauls. One thing that's

31:04

weird to me that in most Bethesda games,

31:06

one of the first ones you get within

31:08

the first year, like the big ones become

31:10

popular. are lighting mods and texture mods. And

31:12

we haven't really got those in Starfield,

31:14

have we? Now, and I

31:16

think the texture mods, a lot of

31:18

that is because of the system that they

31:20

use. Yeah. The new system, I mean,

31:22

the default textures are better than some previous

31:24

games. And the whole double layer set

31:27

system that they use, that makes sense. And

31:29

as far as lighting, I just think

31:31

there's probably so much to light. Like you

31:33

could relight a city, but there

31:35

are so many locations. Like how would

31:37

you really relight all of that? Yeah. Same

31:39

with the weather. One of the first

31:41

ones I'd loaded was the LUTs. Oh, they

31:43

do. Right. They do have LUT style

31:45

lighting. Yeah. It's not quite the same as

31:47

enhanced lighting in effect, where they kind

31:49

of like change like placement of lights and

31:51

stuff like that. Yeah. But they do.

31:53

I mean, and they might not have a

31:55

universal weather overhaul, but I have seen

31:57

that some that change planetary atmospheres, which is

31:59

close, if a little different. Yeah.

32:02

Yeah. Definitely still loving the galactic

32:04

storage network. I On

32:06

the character that I started off

32:08

using that with, I

32:10

got that one

32:12

to all of the

32:15

available storage units

32:17

that didn't require either

32:19

going to a

32:21

constellation or going to

32:23

the key with

32:25

the pirates. But

32:28

I found a bunch

32:30

of the other ones in

32:32

very interesting places. chatting

32:35

with the, with the mod

32:37

author, he was looking for locations

32:39

that everybody goes to and

32:41

always ends up with a lot

32:44

of loot that they have

32:46

to deal with. And so he

32:48

put them in those locations

32:50

so that you could, you could

32:52

have a place to unload

32:54

the extra loot that you got

32:56

once you got done with

32:59

that, with that run. Now

33:01

the keys are not always easy

33:03

to get. if you're going to go

33:05

for these. So they're bigger. Most

33:08

of the most of the ones

33:10

that you get in like spaceports and

33:12

stuff like that are around 300

33:14

kilos. And the ones

33:16

in these special locations are

33:18

over 800. But you're going

33:20

to need expert or master picklock to

33:22

to be able to get to them.

33:25

So. Cool. Cool. But

33:27

I've just been having a blast.

33:30

I love I love Starfield. Yeah,

33:32

there's and with all these mods, it

33:34

just makes, you know, coming up with

33:36

quirky ideas and things to do. It

33:38

really does add a lot. Like, I

33:40

mean, it always does on all their

33:43

games, but it adds a lot to

33:45

the game. And we're getting that

33:47

we're getting that point where we'll start to

33:49

have more loadouts, more overhauls, more like essential

33:51

mods that always have these ones loaded, you

33:53

know, figure those out. And I'm

33:55

excited people who coming in. I mean, supposedly there's

33:57

a lot of fun stuff on the horizon for

33:59

Starfield this year. Just be nice. They told us

34:01

what it is. And I feel

34:03

like Bethesda forgot what a roadmap was

34:05

about two years ago because they just

34:07

stopped giving us any on any of

34:09

the games. No more roadmaps

34:11

for you. Yeah. Well,

34:14

the way that

34:16

Bethesda works, roadmaps

34:19

really. They're

34:21

dangerous. Walk you in. They're

34:23

dangerous because delays happen. And

34:25

also, since I started working with multiple teams, it's

34:27

one team can get ahead of schedule, one team

34:29

can get behind. No, I completely understand why they

34:32

don't. I just I like to joke about the

34:34

roadmaps because people really did like them. And now

34:36

we just get our community event map. Even

34:39

ESO switching to a season system like we

34:41

were talking about. Yeah. Yeah.

34:44

So I've gotten to where I don't even

34:46

pay attention to what they say. You

34:48

guys, you guys do you. I'm

34:50

going to stay here in this

34:53

lane and do my thing. And,

34:55

you know, if you come up

34:57

with something cool, I might think

34:59

about looking at it. But yeah,

35:01

otherwise I'm good. You go

35:03

where your inspiration and the round table takes you. Cool

35:06

beans. So that's

35:08

that's why I was so heavily into Starfield,

35:10

because I was trying all kinds of

35:12

new stuff. So how about you, Andrew? Have

35:14

you been playing Starfield or what have

35:16

you been up to now? I

35:19

don't play games. know.

35:22

I've been not playing a

35:24

ton of games like

35:26

I mentioned last week. I

35:28

busted out the Mario

35:30

Kart DS on my 3DS.

35:33

I wiped that clean. I've been

35:35

starting fresh from that. So I've

35:37

just been... I think I've finally

35:39

made it through the, you know,

35:41

the base eight tracks, not

35:43

tracks, courses. So there's

35:46

32. tracks, but I did

35:48

the cups. Of course, sorry. I

35:50

finished all the first eight of

35:52

those cups at the slowest, and

35:54

I used to be able to

35:56

just like breeze by everything. They

35:59

have like this weird ranking system is like

36:01

three stars, two stars, one stars, then A,

36:03

B, C, D. I don't know why they

36:05

do it like that, but I used to

36:07

get like three stars easy, no problem all

36:09

the time on the slowest. Now I'm like

36:11

getting C's. I'm like, what the fuck is

36:14

going on? so I'm still

36:16

like way out of practice and

36:18

I don't know my old man

36:20

mind just can't keep up like

36:22

it used to other than that

36:24

I don't know not not a

36:26

not a ton I've 76 I

36:28

decided with my ghoul character that

36:31

I didn't have the the jet

36:33

pack yet so I wanted to

36:35

go back and I forgot how

36:37

you do that and this is

36:39

like oh you got a complete

36:43

the Wastelanders quest line, either the settlers or

36:45

the Raiders side. And I was like, Oh

36:47

yeah, I did that with my last character

36:49

and ran through the Settler side. So this

36:51

time I decided, Oh, let's go, let's

36:53

go on the Raiders side. So

36:56

we're through till blanked on

36:58

her name. What's that little

37:00

girl? The Rara. Yeah.

37:03

So I'm with Rara at the. The

37:06

the the grafting dam or whatever it

37:08

is trying to feed her through the tunnels

37:10

and meet her through the door You

37:12

know that that you are you are you

37:14

really? Are you really doing that quest?

37:16

I'm trying to why Cuz I'm sorry. I'm

37:18

gonna have to drop. I'm gonna have

37:20

to drop. Oh Do I have it? I

37:22

don't want to make you wait. Oh,

37:24

yeah, I got it. I got it Rara

37:49

I've had to start it twice now

37:51

because either something gets stuck or

37:54

I'm just not finding something right so

37:56

I'm gonna attempt it a third

37:58

time before I ride it off and

38:00

just be like well fuck that But

38:03

it's been fun right around with

38:05

rah -rah Like I like this

38:07

sort of the puzzle aspect of

38:09

it so far. Yeah, so other

38:11

than that I haven't really played

38:13

a ton of video games I

38:15

had to get a little bit

38:17

of bad news this week. I've

38:20

been having a little bit of

38:22

forearm and Finger tingling numbness stuff

38:24

going on and my doctor said

38:26

you probably got a couple ton

38:28

going on so I don't know

38:30

if This is gonna

38:32

like force me into like making

38:34

taking it like a Monitored video

38:36

game time, you know, I mean

38:38

like I have to cut back

38:40

or who knows what's this gonna

38:42

do, but I had to wear

38:44

braces twice because of stuff acting

38:46

up for a while and I

38:49

work on keyboards for a living

38:51

mousing and typing and stuff So

38:53

yeah, it definitely happens, but I

38:55

find if even if you gotta

38:57

occasionally wear a brace or just

38:59

like a little wrist exactly Exactly.

39:01

You find the right position with the

39:03

thumb sticks. I don't feel that that exacerbates

39:05

it much on a controller, but I

39:08

don't know. Maybe it's just because a different

39:10

activity, controller versus, but that's real carpal

39:12

tunnel when you might need surgery. If it

39:14

gets bad enough, that's different. Yeah, I

39:16

don't want that. My mom had to have

39:18

that. Yeah, I've only had

39:20

strains. Yeah. So I

39:22

do in the stress, the stretches and

39:24

stuff like that, hopefully to prevent that

39:26

bad stuff from coming. But

39:28

honestly, if you have to cut anything

39:30

out, I would say work first, OK?

39:34

Maybe a little less guitar,

39:36

maybe less drumming. Oh,

39:39

come on. Yeah, I drum.

39:41

I'm sure Tori would be totally

39:43

on board with it for your

39:45

health. Yeah,

39:47

I'm sure it would have nothing to do with me

39:49

drumming at 3 a .m. when she's trying to sleep. See,

39:51

that's what I'm wondering if you just came off of

39:54

a month or two of recording an album, like if

39:56

that's part of it, too, if that exacerbates it a

39:58

little. Hmm. Yeah, that could. That

40:00

could. That's the thing

40:02

that helped me a lot was I got

40:04

one of those gyro balls. I

40:06

don't know what that is. It's a

40:08

gyroscope that you hold in

40:10

your hand and you

40:12

you rotate it with your

40:15

hand and it makes

40:17

the gyroscope go faster and

40:19

faster and faster, which

40:21

creates more and more resistance.

40:25

And. It's it's

40:27

essentially an exercise that

40:29

that strengthens your forearm and

40:31

all those muscles. They'll

40:33

be burning like crazy

40:35

after you get the thing

40:37

revved up. Well, Andrew,

40:39

what's up? Jetpack. You mentioned

40:41

Jetpack Wastelanders. So keep in mind that that

40:43

info was out of date. You do need

40:45

to get through the Wastelanders quest line to

40:47

be able to get, I believe, the Secret

40:49

Service or the Brotherhood Recon Jetpack. But

40:52

technically you can get a civil engineer jet

40:54

pack with stamps, too, if you just run

40:56

a bunch of expeditions. So there is another

40:58

path. Oh, fuck that. I'd rather do the

41:00

wastelanders than expeditions. I mean, yeah, an actual

41:02

storyline. No, for sure. But just saying, there

41:04

is another way now for anyone listening. It's

41:07

hilarious. Sweet. I'll check it

41:09

out. Yeah, gameplay wise.

41:11

Yeah, like I mentioned, I just I

41:13

didn't do a ton. So

41:15

that's lots of... I guess I played some

41:17

shelter, too, but nothing exciting, really. I'm

41:19

at the point where I'm ready to kill

41:21

all my shelter again and start over. There

41:24

you go. There you go. I mean, but

41:27

hey, we may have oblivion in a few

41:29

days. I know, I know. We,

41:31

there are always more stuff to play. There are

41:33

other games. I mean, you could branch out,

41:35

try other games for a bit. Well, see, round

41:37

table soon. That's the thing, you know, we're

41:39

just finished a round table. So like you mentioned,

41:41

your brain kind of like wants to try

41:43

new things, go out. I

41:45

bought. What the stalker

41:47

series I also got like I mentioned

41:49

the bio shock and I just bought

41:51

raft last week so like I'm Purchasing

41:53

lots again, but like as soon as

41:56

I sit down to play them I'm

41:58

meeting all sorts of resistance with Myself

42:00

I'm just like now. I don't want

42:02

to do this so like okay, then

42:04

stop buying the fucking new games that

42:06

you're not gonna play when you sit

42:08

down and don't play them, you know

42:11

But I want to play them sit

42:13

down to play them and No, I

42:15

don't want to play this. I

42:17

totally get it. I just need to get

42:19

that the game pass thing and try that

42:21

for a while. See if it does. It

42:24

can help. Although then you play the fun

42:26

game of I've installed 10 things I want.

42:28

I'm like, I'm scrolling to the store game

42:30

pass for an hour and then then decide

42:32

to watch something. It's the

42:34

same problem as soon you get. If

42:36

you only have three channels, it's easy to

42:38

make a decision. As soon as you get

42:40

Netflix, you spend your whole evening scrolling instead

42:42

of actually watching anything. Yeah. Yeah.

42:46

Spend a lot of time on that home screen. Same

42:48

with YouTube. You know what I mean? Like, I watch

42:50

a lot of YouTube. A lot of it is for

42:52

specific purposes. I load in thinking there

42:54

are things I want to watch, but then

42:56

you've got that YouTube suggested. And next thing

42:59

you know, you've spent an hour or two

43:01

watching things, YouTube things you want to watch.

43:03

And they're a little bit right, but it

43:05

really keeps you from accomplishing the specific goal

43:07

if you fall for it. off of the

43:09

algorithm. I like to say we

43:11

don't have streaming services anymore. We have algorithms. Well,

43:14

yeah, yeah, yeah. So you're ready

43:17

to get into some feedback, do

43:19

you think? Or let's do it.

43:21

Who do you want to do?

43:23

We've got Celia or leave, and

43:25

that's and Sean up tonight. Let's

43:29

start out and see what Pyra is

43:31

up to. Let's see how we finished up

43:33

those quests. All right,

43:35

let's see. What's up, everyone?

43:37

This is Pyro Anderson and

43:39

it's finally here. The moment

43:41

we've all been waiting for. At least I know

43:43

I have been. Time to

43:45

gut Hugo like the cowardly bastard

43:47

he is. Dude, if you're

43:49

talking about gutting people and everything,

43:51

you need to stay way

43:54

away from me. I have seen

43:56

way too many times what

43:58

you do with people. Don't

44:00

worry. I'm only gonna be

44:02

in your hair just for a

44:04

little bit longer and... Then

44:06

you'll never see me again. You

44:08

promise? Hell no,

44:10

I'm not promising anything. Chances

44:13

are you'll see me here in a few

44:16

days. Oh god. So

44:18

this whole thing comes down to

44:20

Hugo wanting to cure his wife of

44:22

her ferrality. The crazy

44:24

ass weather system and the

44:26

loss just happen to be collateral

44:29

damage. Not that he

44:31

gives two shits, he's not sorry

44:33

about that at all. In

44:35

fact, he doesn't consider it a

44:37

mistake. He thinks it's just

44:39

incomplete. Like, they just

44:41

didn't quite get there. I

44:44

don't know. Those lost seem

44:46

batshit crazy to me. So,

44:48

I had a little conversation with

44:50

Hilda, Audrey, and Oberland, and they want

44:52

me to go test out these

44:54

weather stations to make sure they're working

44:57

properly. There's three of them,

44:59

because of course there is. First

45:01

one is called Research

45:03

Site Saxony, and it's

45:05

crawling with super mutants.

45:08

Along the way there, I run into

45:10

this guy that goes by the name

45:12

of Biscuits McShits. That's a

45:14

hell of a name. I wonder how he came up

45:16

with that. Maybe Biscuits made

45:18

him shit a lot, I don't know. But

45:21

between the two of us, we took

45:23

out those super mutants, no problem. After

45:25

about a minute or two, they all

45:27

got the information they wanted from the

45:29

machine. Turns out there was nothing new,

45:31

so on to site Bavaria. Basically

45:34

we repeated the process, but this time

45:36

instead of super mutants it was thrashers,

45:38

those giant ass turkeys that want to

45:40

rip your head off. Don't

45:42

fuck with turkeys, trust me, I know.

45:45

Same deal here. No

45:47

real new information, but somebody started

45:49

speculating that maybe Hugo is using

45:51

these machines to control the lost

45:53

as opposed to cure them. That's

45:55

a scary thought. But anyway,

45:58

on to sight in Rhineland. This

46:00

time we're dealing with Lost. After

46:03

another minute or so, the

46:05

experiment concluded and Hilda

46:07

confirms that the outcome is

46:09

what she expected. This

46:12

was all a distraction. These

46:15

machines were working perfectly and

46:17

Hugo just used us to test

46:19

it out again. He's

46:21

now left vault 63 and

46:23

went over to the Hawksville

46:25

weather station, so we'll meet

46:27

up with him there So

46:29

I make my way to

46:31

Hawksville weather station and hear

46:34

from Oberlin who tells me

46:36

that we need him alive

46:38

fuck that I get that

46:40

with Hugo being the only

46:42

sane lost that they need him

46:44

for the research, but you

46:46

know what? He's done way too

46:48

much to deserve being alive

46:50

anymore. After getting to the

46:52

Hawksbilt Weather Station, I had a

46:54

little conversation with Audrey and she agrees

46:56

with me. He's done way

46:58

too much. Used

47:00

way too many people to stay

47:02

alive. That bastard's gotta

47:05

pay. So I get into

47:07

the atrium, and lo and

47:09

behold, there's Hugo, and he

47:11

makes this long, boring, villainous

47:13

monologue about why he did

47:15

it, and it's for the

47:17

greater good. I

47:19

tuned out about halfway through, and

47:21

he, no, I'm not listening to a

47:23

word he's saying. I get

47:25

that he wants to have the life that

47:28

he had with his wife before all

47:30

this shit went down, but guess what, man?

47:32

It's all you're doing. So

47:35

I told him to shove

47:37

it and the fighting begins

47:39

and guess what? Hugo

47:41

is being cowardly He's hiding

47:43

behind all these lust that he's

47:45

controlling to attack me But

47:47

I had people at my side

47:49

as well Biscuits McShits followed

47:51

me in here along with some

47:53

other random ass person who

47:55

decided to join us in taking

47:57

Hugo down Hugo seemed

48:00

to be drawing power from these

48:02

other was though because I swear

48:04

I put him down twice before

48:06

he finally went down for good

48:08

This spineless coward actually tried to

48:10

convince me to join him once

48:12

again Like I'm gonna do that.

48:15

No, you're dead meat. So yeah

48:17

He also ended up being food

48:19

for me after a battle like

48:21

that. I got a little hungry

48:23

He had a pretty nice two

48:25

-handed electric sword though. That was

48:27

kind of cool Oberland,

48:31

predictably, was not happy,

48:33

but he didn't have time to bitch at me

48:35

for very long. Have to

48:37

say I was a little surprised that

48:40

Audrey put a bullet in him. Didn't

48:42

expect that grief will get to you,

48:44

and he'd been giving her grief her

48:46

entire life. Headed

48:48

back to Vault 63 to talk

48:50

to her, and she wasn't

48:52

excited to see me. still blamed

48:54

me a bit for what

48:56

happened to Alex and I don't

48:59

really blame her but she

49:01

knows that I wasn't entirely to

49:03

blame for that he once

49:05

again Hugo was manipulating people to

49:07

get what he wanted and

49:09

I just have to be a

49:11

victim in that we're all

49:13

victims to Hugo one way or

49:15

another but not anymore So,

49:18

Audrey's gonna run things at the vault

49:20

from now on. I'm not sure what she

49:22

did to Hilda, but I can't imagine

49:24

it being pleasant. I

49:26

gotta say, all this stuff, I've

49:28

seen way too much here. I'm

49:31

getting a little tired of

49:33

Appalachia, so... You may or may

49:35

not see me anymore, who

49:37

knows? But... I

49:39

think I'm gonna... I gotta get

49:41

out of here, so... I've heard

49:43

some interesting things that are going

49:45

on in the Capital Wasteland, or

49:47

maybe I'll make my way over

49:49

to the Commonwealth, I don't know,

49:51

but, or who knows? You

49:54

may even see me out in California. We'll

49:57

just have to see, but who

49:59

knows? But

50:01

regardless, it's time for me to

50:03

ride out into the sunset. But

50:05

wherever I go, I know

50:07

one thing's for sure. They

50:09

are not gonna know how to

50:11

handle me, cause I bring the

50:13

fire. Silior. Yeah?

50:17

I'm gonna leave these toxic goo

50:19

piles as a souvenir, but later,

50:21

dude. And don't miss me too

50:23

much. You ever wanna turn into

50:25

a ghoul as well? I know how to do

50:27

it. I think

50:30

I'm good, so... Anyway. Bye,

50:32

Pyro. So yeah,

50:35

I had to kill Hugo.

50:37

I had spared him a

50:39

couple of times so I

50:42

knew how that went but

50:44

I Figured Pyro had to

50:46

kill him as much as

50:48

he's talked about it. He

50:50

had to do it and

50:52

I was not expecting Oberlin

50:54

to die. Yeah, that was

50:56

surprising hearing that over the

50:58

intercom So yeah, thank

51:00

you to biscuits McShits for

51:02

jumping in and helping me. He

51:04

just kind of joined like

51:07

I didn't ask for him to

51:09

I was gonna try and

51:11

take out Hugo on my own,

51:13

but I was not gonna

51:15

turn down help and I was

51:17

also really surprised at the

51:19

random guy on our team also

51:21

coming and taking out Hugo

51:23

with me It was it was

51:25

pretty fun. Just all of

51:27

us just wailing on Hugo before

51:29

he finally went down. Anyway,

51:32

yeah, I have

51:35

had a blast with

51:37

this roundtable. This

51:39

was the first 76 roundtable

51:41

that I've been a part of,

51:43

and I'm kind of sad

51:45

that it's over. Also,

51:47

it was my first time actually roleplaying

51:49

a character, so hope you all

51:51

enjoyed it. I had a lot of

51:54

fun with it, and we'll see

51:56

what happens next roundtable. Whatever

51:58

that is who knows depending on

52:00

what the character is I

52:02

may or may not try and

52:04

role play that one as

52:06

well But until that time comes

52:08

I guess I will see

52:10

you all in the wasteland Glad

52:12

was his name captain shit

52:14

biscuits was there so okay to

52:16

clarify there That's actually a

52:18

friend of ours biscuits biscuits as

52:20

I call him I refuse

52:22

to say his name because it's

52:24

gross But yeah, so Biscuits McBiscuits

52:26

is a friend of ours who jumped

52:28

in to help him. And also another rando

52:30

joined for that couple fights and that

52:32

final battle. And believe it or

52:34

not, Sulior did not die once in the final

52:36

battle against Hugo. So bravo. I guess that's

52:38

what happens when you have friends. I

52:41

wish. I beg that

52:43

people in my random team would

52:45

ever show up to anything that

52:47

I would like. Oh

52:49

my God, please. I've

52:52

got a pasta squash on

52:54

my hands and I'm

52:56

dying 38 times in a

52:58

row. Please. Oh, many

53:00

of us are always going to

53:02

join you when you're there. Well,

53:04

eventually I got silly order to

53:06

join me, but like it took

53:08

me like to like, hey, can

53:10

you come out? You know, instead

53:12

of like a rando jumping in.

53:15

In my experience, randos don't jump

53:17

in. to your, if you

53:19

ever hit X to enter as

53:21

leader, don't ever expect anyone to

53:23

randomly come in and help you, you know,

53:25

no one ever comes in. You

53:27

need to put out the bat signal.

53:29

You need to message the Xbox chat or

53:31

see if you know anybody on and

53:33

send them an Xbox message like, Hey, fighting

53:36

robot need help. And

53:38

then you get in trouble with that

53:40

one random robot whooping my ass. Please

53:42

help. Yep. It still amuses me.

53:44

Like I remember a year ago, laughing about

53:46

new players during the game and doing things

53:48

way too early and having to help that

53:50

level 28 fight an imposter sheep squad. And

53:52

then we did the same thing on the

53:54

round table because we were mostly low level.

53:56

I'm level 200. I still need help with

53:58

the pasta sheep squad. I

54:00

mean, a lot of pasta. Pasta

54:02

is harder than an apple. That's what we learned

54:04

tonight. But

54:07

besides that, let's see, what else did

54:10

Salur get into? One thing he mentioned

54:12

on his ending, so he killed Hugo,

54:14

which I think you did too, Ray, right?

54:17

No, I imprisoned him. OK,

54:20

I was thinking one of you did. Did you,

54:22

Andrew? I did. Yes. OK. And one

54:24

thing he mentioned that you didn't bring up

54:26

is that after that, Audrey actually shot Oberlin, which

54:28

is for whatever reason, because Oberlin's protesting that

54:31

he's trying to stop you, telling you not

54:33

to kill Hugo, and Audrey puts a bullet

54:35

in him, which I didn't know, but Solier

54:37

talked about it, and I read that when

54:39

I was reading up on the different endings.

54:42

So that's pretty extreme, and that is a way

54:44

to get her as an overseer if you do

54:46

that. I'm not surprised that she's

54:48

still not super happy with you, though. That

54:50

seems like an odd ending. Well, still, we

54:52

have three more feedback coming in. We'll see

54:54

if anybody took the Hugo wins ending, but

54:57

I don't imagine. Now, how could

54:59

they? It's like those,

55:01

those rare folks who like

55:03

the Legion, you know what I mean? Yeah,

55:06

they don't admit to it. Only when we

55:08

make them with the round table, which, once

55:10

again, shout out to our friends who played

55:12

Legion for us for the round table. We

55:14

appreciate you. But who on, who in the

55:16

right mind, like you mentioned, unless the draw

55:18

in front of the round table is going

55:20

to side with Hugo? Like the story is

55:22

not built for you to side with Hugo

55:25

unless you're a fucking psychopath or playing a

55:27

bad guy or something. You know what I

55:29

mean? So we were mentioned

55:31

in my opinion Right one way he

55:33

got help too is that he always streams

55:35

the round table quests like he has

55:37

been Saturdays or Sundays quite often during

55:39

the round table And so let's people know

55:41

you're on and they can see and

55:44

maybe they'll join you to mm -hmm I

55:46

also want to say pyro you sexy

55:48

beast I like the way that you

55:50

shouted out the next potential round table coming

55:52

up when I'll see you in the

55:54

capital wasteland or the cover wealth of maybe

55:56

in California like he's there thinking You

55:58

know what's up? Maybe we'll get some

56:00

more pyro in the future. The next roundtable

56:02

in space. I'm

56:05

Sarah Dill. No, I don't know. Sorry.

56:08

But yeah, that's it for me. Great feedback. Thank you and pyro's

56:10

been a fun. All season

56:12

long. Much appreciated, Mr. Pyro. All

56:15

right, let's continue on with

56:17

the feedback. And I don't think

56:19

that we have heard this tonight, but let's

56:21

check in with Mr. Lee. After

56:33

returning to her camp and recovering

56:35

somewhat from the tensions of the previous

56:37

few days, Tove returned to Vault

56:39

96. Hugo was in his

56:41

office waiting for her. He talked

56:43

to final preparations for curing the

56:45

lost. She told him that

56:47

they couldn't just go back to business as

56:49

usual after what he'd done to Audrey and

56:51

Alex. He hoped that Audrey

56:53

would forgive him, given time. Then he

56:55

broke into a lecture about the

56:58

nature of lightning and how he and

57:00

Cassidy had lightning contained within themselves

57:02

and referred to it as chaos contained.

57:04

She didn't understand and Hugo continued

57:06

his lecture. He talked of

57:09

how he and Cassidy had accomplished so

57:11

much together. After the

57:13

earthquake crippled Vault 96 and gulified

57:15

its residents, he saw Cassidy

57:17

starting to go feral and slipping

57:19

from him. He took her

57:21

to the weather machine and pushed it

57:23

to its limits, hoping to cure her. He

57:25

didn't see the accident as an issue. The

57:28

initial result, though incomplete, created

57:30

the lost. His next goal was

57:32

to complete the experiment to return all

57:34

of the lost and its beloved

57:36

Cassidy to their new normal of just

57:38

being ghouls. To agree to hear

57:40

him out but didn't commit to anything.

57:43

He said that Hilda and Audrey were

57:45

close to a solution involving tissue

57:47

samples harvested from him and needed her

57:49

help to gather the data needed

57:52

to complete their work. Hugo

57:54

told Toe that she had helped them

57:56

get past a plateau in the

57:58

work and that her work was incredibly

58:00

important to the progress being made. Toe

58:02

left check -in with Hilda and Audrey.

58:05

She found them in the clinic

58:07

with Oberlin, discussing the next steps and

58:09

the dangers involved in taking them. Audrey

58:11

felt that the next steps were

58:13

essential as they have no other options,

58:16

despite Hugo being both a liar

58:18

and a killer, as pointed out by

58:20

Oberlin. Hilda insists that they make

58:22

their decisions quickly, as the tissue samples

58:24

from Hugo won't be usable for

58:26

long. Since Hugo was the only one

58:28

of the lost to retain his

58:30

personality, he was a key to completing

58:32

the experiment. The difference during the

58:34

accident was that Hugo had direct contact

58:36

with the machine. The next step

58:39

was to have Toe use the lightning

58:41

harvesters to expose the samples on

58:43

a small scale, before they committed to

58:45

using the weather machine directly. All

58:47

Toe will have to do is

58:49

keep each device safe and report

58:51

to them via radio. Audrey marked

58:53

the first site on her Pip

58:55

-Boy map and designated it Site

58:57

Saxony. The site was at the

58:59

far west side of the park,

59:01

west of Naked Creek. The trek to

59:03

Naked Creek was uneventful, but she

59:05

was soon attacked by a thresher, followed

59:07

by an enormous blue creature resembling

59:09

a wolf man. This creature startled her

59:11

so much that she fled uncontrollably

59:13

and fell into a nearby ravine. When

59:15

she recovered, she found that she'd

59:18

run all the way to the old

59:20

crimson mines and headed northwest from

59:22

there, hoping to not encounter the Great

59:24

Wolfman again. At site

59:26

Saxony, she found several super mutants

59:28

and the strange machine they

59:30

had called a lightning harvester. Fearing

59:33

lightning strikes, she gingerly pressed the

59:35

butt. She was then beset by

59:37

mutant hounds, which fortunately drove her

59:39

away from the device. For

59:41

when the lightning came, the remaining hounds

59:43

were all killed. and she was

59:45

safely out of the way. The team

59:47

told her that the sample remained

59:49

agitated, whatever that meant, but the experiment

59:51

was clearly a failure. On

59:53

to the next device at the

59:55

site designated Bavaria. Checking her map, she

59:57

found site Bavaria far to the

1:00:00

eastern side of the park, south of

1:00:02

the Shining Creek. Upon

1:00:04

arrival, there were more thrashers. It only

1:00:06

took a little while to get

1:00:08

the lightning harvester through the test and

1:00:10

the resulting lightning took out the

1:00:12

remaining thrashers. Over the radio, she heard

1:00:14

Audrey talking to Oberlin. The lost

1:00:16

responded to the samples and moved toward

1:00:18

them. Oberlin concluded that instead

1:00:20

of Hugo trying to cure the lost,

1:00:22

he was trying to control them. He

1:00:25

went to arrest Hugo and Audrey asked

1:00:27

Tota to proceed to site Rhineland. She

1:00:29

wanted to know if Oberlin's conclusion was

1:00:32

true or if it was a fluke

1:00:34

of the settings used with site Bavaria.

1:00:37

Site Rhineland was west northwest of

1:00:39

the trading post, so Tota

1:00:41

headed there. At site Rhineland, she

1:00:43

was greeted by Farrell Lost. The

1:00:45

third test confirmed that the Lost would

1:00:47

now move toward the samples. Oberlin

1:00:49

came back to the lab via

1:00:51

radio and reported that Hugo had

1:00:54

left the vault and Toe was

1:00:56

to return immediately. When

1:00:58

Toe reported to Oberlin's office, he

1:01:00

told her that Hugo took Cassidy with

1:01:02

him, which meant he went to

1:01:04

the weather machine to complete his plan.

1:01:06

This would also create Hugo's now

1:01:08

obedient army of the Lost, as the

1:01:10

Weather Station was already set to

1:01:12

the parameters of the final test. They

1:01:15

must act now. Toe is

1:01:17

instructed to head to the Metrology Center

1:01:19

of the Vault at Hawkesville Weather Station. Unfortunately,

1:01:22

Hugo already had a head

1:01:24

start. Oberlin insisted that Hugo

1:01:26

be kept alive so that they

1:01:29

could learn more about the infliction

1:01:31

of the Lost. Otherwise, years of

1:01:33

research would be lost. At

1:01:35

Hawkesville, Toa eliminated the

1:01:37

expected robo -brains and went

1:01:39

inside. There she found Audrey, who

1:01:41

told her that there were many of the lost

1:01:44

in the facility. She seriously wanted

1:01:46

to kill Hugo, but she had

1:01:48

only managed to delay him, which she

1:01:50

was sure wouldn't help for long. Toa

1:01:53

left Audrey. Working her way through the

1:01:55

corridors, Toa came to a laser grid that

1:01:57

had previously blocked her. She then dispatched

1:01:59

more of the lost and came to the

1:02:01

heart of the machine. There

1:02:03

she found Hugo. who as usual was

1:02:05

apologetic for his previous deception, but it

1:02:07

was the only way to get her

1:02:09

out of the way and further his

1:02:11

plan. He was on an

1:02:13

upper platform with Cassidy sitting against

1:02:15

the railing beside him, rocking back and

1:02:18

forth. He ranted about their change

1:02:20

and how she couldn't possibly understand

1:02:22

what they'd become. The last

1:02:24

time Cassidy stood here with him, it

1:02:26

caused an accident and the Great Storm

1:02:28

was the result. He believes he can

1:02:30

restore her and all of the Lost

1:02:32

to their previous state, being merely ghouls.

1:02:34

Toa encouraged him to stop since now

1:02:36

he had Cassidy. Hugo said

1:02:39

it was only for fleeting moments

1:02:41

he had to complete her and

1:02:43

the Lost's final transformation. Hugo

1:02:45

then exploded with a burst

1:02:47

of light and appeared to summon

1:02:49

more of the Lost, which

1:02:52

then attacked. Toa defeated them

1:02:54

and him, but he rose again,

1:02:56

coming back like a bad penny. She

1:02:58

defeated him a second time, and

1:03:00

again he recovered and summoned more of

1:03:02

the lost. This time he was

1:03:04

exhausted and ready to talk. Toe

1:03:07

contained her rage and offered him

1:03:09

a comfy jail cell per Oberlin's instructions.

1:03:13

Over the PA system, Audrey was

1:03:15

furious, but Toe followed

1:03:17

Oberlin's instructions and climbed to the

1:03:19

top of the weather machine, passing

1:03:21

Cassidy along the way, and turned

1:03:23

it off so the Hugo could

1:03:25

be safely captured. and Cassidy can

1:03:27

be returned to Vault 96. She

1:03:30

checked on Hugo and confirmed he was no

1:03:32

longer a threat and handcuffed him to the railing.

1:03:35

She then returned to Vault

1:03:37

63 per Oberlin's orders. Entering

1:03:39

Hugo's office, she

1:03:42

found Oberlin seated at the overseer's

1:03:44

desk. He congratulated her for

1:03:46

being one of the good ones and

1:03:48

told her that Hugo and Cassidy

1:03:50

were returned to the vault. Stolz

1:03:52

isn't talking yet. and Cassidy

1:03:55

will be kept in her room

1:03:57

and under observation. Hugo

1:03:59

is now safely sedated and is

1:04:01

likely the key to curing both Cassidy

1:04:03

and the lost. Now

1:04:05

that Hugo's plan had been foiled, Oberlin

1:04:07

can work on fixing things in Vault

1:04:09

96. He wasn't sure what would

1:04:11

happen to the storm but was hoping that it

1:04:13

would dissipate on its own now that the weather

1:04:15

machine had been shut down. He'd have

1:04:17

to ask Audrey to keep an eye on

1:04:19

it for him. He had forgiven Audrey for trying

1:04:21

to shoot him at some point and how

1:04:23

she proceeds from here is up to her. Hilda's

1:04:26

research may eventually help them to

1:04:28

cure the lost. Only

1:04:30

time will tell. Oberlin

1:04:32

thanked Toa again and said that she

1:04:34

had earned his respect. He

1:04:36

told her not to be a stranger,

1:04:38

emphasizing with a small grin that

1:04:40

this was an order. Toa

1:04:43

returned to her camp and wrote

1:04:45

up a report about the storm in

1:04:47

Vault 96 and prepared to take

1:04:49

it. to the Brotherhood. Epilogue.

1:04:52

Toe Cutters wrap up for the

1:04:54

Fallout Feed Roundtable, Season 16. Well,

1:04:57

that was quite the ride and an

1:04:59

emotional roller coaster for our hero, Toe.

1:05:02

At several places I took a little

1:05:04

license with the story to include details

1:05:06

that I felt were needed to clarify

1:05:08

things. Here's one example from the last

1:05:10

episode. I was disappointed with having to

1:05:12

leave Hugo basically unattended and return to

1:05:14

the vault at the end. It would

1:05:17

have been better if Oberlin had showed

1:05:19

up to take Hugo into custody, but

1:05:21

then that didn't happen. I added handcuffing

1:05:23

Hugo to the railing. I

1:05:25

do have a few regrets from this roundtable

1:05:27

that I can recall off the top of

1:05:29

my head. I wish I'd taken a picture of

1:05:32

Hugo and Cassidy at the machine in the

1:05:34

final episode, but the tension was such that I

1:05:36

missed the chance. The enemies

1:05:38

were tough and although the heavy weapons

1:05:40

build, did help immensely. I

1:05:42

wish I had done a better job of

1:05:44

protecting Toe. So many deaths

1:05:46

of the player character. Starting

1:05:49

at level 20 helped with early

1:05:51

combat, but it was no help in

1:05:53

finding locations that would have come

1:05:55

naturally in getting to level 20. Toe

1:05:57

ended up at level 92. A

1:06:00

correction I'd like to make is

1:06:02

that throughout my feedback episodes, I

1:06:04

referred to the metrology sector or

1:06:06

lab when it should have been

1:06:08

the meteorology. sector or lab. The

1:06:10

differences that meteorology, as we know,

1:06:12

is the study of the atmosphere

1:06:15

and what we call weather. Metrology

1:06:17

is the scientific study of

1:06:19

measurements. Among the uses

1:06:21

of a metrology lab is the

1:06:24

periodic calibration of scientific and other

1:06:26

test equipment. There we go

1:06:28

usual the roundtable format is a

1:06:30

great boo day as a podcasting's

1:06:32

community building and I'd like to

1:06:34

thank you all again for your

1:06:36

kind comments on my feedback Well,

1:06:38

silly we can do without people

1:06:40

like you you guys know my

1:06:42

official job title I don't know.

1:06:44

I am a metrologist. I'm really

1:06:46

yes Yeah, my position is a

1:06:48

metrologist. So that is hilarious that

1:06:50

Lee defined metrology for his right

1:06:52

there So it is the study

1:06:55

of the capital wasteland metro, right?

1:06:57

Yes. Well,

1:07:00

no one has ever actually

1:07:02

successfully navigated that tunnel

1:07:04

system, so we're still working

1:07:07

on it. Metrologists

1:07:09

are trying to spelunk it to this

1:07:11

day. We keep

1:07:13

dying from the fucking ghouls. But that

1:07:15

was awesome. Lee shared some pictures along the

1:07:17

way as he often does. Some great

1:07:19

ones of Hugo there. I'm with him at

1:07:21

getting Hugo and Cassidy at the machine.

1:07:23

That would have been a good keepsake for

1:07:25

this quest, but it's pretty quick. And

1:07:27

he's lecturing at you trying to turn to

1:07:29

the dark side. So it makes

1:07:32

sense that you get a little distracted. Like you'd have

1:07:34

to be pretty quick with the camera to get that

1:07:36

picture. He went with Oberlin

1:07:38

as well. Oberlin looks good behind the...

1:07:40

I was just gonna say, Oberlin

1:07:42

looks stately behind that desk. Doesn't he?

1:07:44

Nice shadows. Yeah, he actually smiles

1:07:46

too. A much better choice

1:07:48

than Hugo was. Is that a real smile?

1:07:50

I thought his face was cracking. roundtable

1:07:52

character. Starting at 20. I

1:07:54

went 92 when I ended around 50, 51,

1:07:57

but that's because I did the last

1:07:59

three quests on my regular main character and

1:08:01

not on a hard knock yet. Ray,

1:08:03

you ended up in the 50s, right? 60s

1:08:05

maybe? I think it was

1:08:07

53. OK. So

1:08:09

we're right on area. And that was because

1:08:11

when I was 45, I took the boost

1:08:14

to... right we talked about that you said

1:08:16

all you had all those atoms to burn

1:08:18

That makes sense. I know silly or and

1:08:20

some got a little higher. Yeah pyro was

1:08:22

around 130, but he was playing on him

1:08:24

pretty regularly I think a few of the

1:08:26

others to Vanessa of course this whole thing

1:08:28

has been her first time playing so she's

1:08:30

been doing as you guys know regular quests

1:08:32

in between and the same with Strider blasters

1:08:34

character there Isaiah has done a lot of

1:08:36

not their first time playing of course, but

1:08:39

been doing a lot of the regular quests

1:08:41

when they couldn't finish the middle of the

1:08:43

first half of the round table. Vanessa, do

1:08:45

any main quest? She's finishing that or Wastelanders

1:08:47

or any of that stuff? back and doing

1:08:49

some of that. She talked about some of

1:08:51

it in the playthrough, but I don't know

1:08:53

where she's at. Maybe we'll hear a little

1:08:55

bit about that in tonight's feedback when we

1:08:57

get to her. Nice. Speak

1:09:00

of the devil. Hi, everyone.

1:09:02

It's Vanessa with my final feedback for

1:09:04

this round table. Respect

1:09:06

in Oberlin's request for time to consider

1:09:08

his response to Hugo's deceit. Jim finds

1:09:10

himself back up at Paradise Valley Cabins,

1:09:12

investigating the demise of the Order of

1:09:14

Mysteries, and then back at his camp,

1:09:16

reinventing himself. With his

1:09:18

increasing stealth training, he's begun to

1:09:20

harbour a daft romantic idea of himself

1:09:23

as an archer, silently reigning death

1:09:25

upon unsuspecting enemies before retreating unseen into

1:09:27

the shadows. Plus his plasma

1:09:29

rifle is becoming a right pain to repair, and

1:09:31

he's forever out of adhesive. He

1:09:34

crafts himself a bow and a hundred arrows and

1:09:36

heads back to Vault 63 with a plan to

1:09:38

retreat to his camp and switch back to a

1:09:40

rifle loadout if it looks like he's being sent

1:09:42

into a death trap. Hugo greets

1:09:44

him as usual and recounts his first meeting

1:09:46

with Cassidy and explains how everything he's doing

1:09:48

is to bring her back. Jim

1:09:50

is almost taken in and has to remind

1:09:53

himself how he's been lied to at every turn

1:09:55

by the murderous overseer. He's

1:09:57

sent to speak with Audrey Hilda and

1:09:59

Oberlin next, who are apparently close to

1:10:01

a breakthrough regarding the lost. He's surprised

1:10:03

after recent events that everyone seems to

1:10:05

be working happily together. They

1:10:07

want him to do head out to three

1:10:09

devices with a sample of Hugo's cell tissue so

1:10:12

they can do sciencey things. Really,

1:10:14

he's given up trying to understand the Stoltz

1:10:16

family. The less he questions them, the sooner he

1:10:18

can be rid of them. More

1:10:20

importantly though, a mission out in the open will

1:10:22

be great for his archery practice. At

1:10:25

the first machine he encounters super mutants.

1:10:27

He does a thorough patrol of the area

1:10:29

and picks off all those he can

1:10:31

see before activating the machine. A

1:10:33

few more mutants appear while the Vault 63

1:10:36

crew are doing their thing but not enough to

1:10:38

do serious damage to the device. He

1:10:40

lays low but keeps an eye on them in case he

1:10:42

needs to step in. The same

1:10:44

thing happens at the second and third devices

1:10:46

but with thrashers and lost respectively. He

1:10:49

picks them off beforehand and there are too few

1:10:51

left to damage the machines while they run their

1:10:53

analysis. While he's feeling pleased

1:10:55

with how his part in this task has

1:10:57

gone, Audrey and Co are concluding

1:10:59

that Hugo is intending to control the Lost

1:11:01

and could be raising a small army of

1:11:03

them right now. He heads

1:11:05

back to the vault to be brought up to speed. Oberlin

1:11:08

greets him and says Hugo has gone to

1:11:10

the Hawksbill weather station. He would like Jim

1:11:12

to bring Hugo back in alive. They

1:11:14

need his knowledge and also further cell

1:11:17

samples for experimentation. But Hugo

1:11:19

will be kept under lock and key. Sure

1:11:21

he will, thanks Jim, until the slippery sod

1:11:23

tricks someone into letting him out. As

1:11:25

ideas go, it's almost as bad as

1:11:27

letting a voice over an intercom persuade you

1:11:29

to head through violent lightning storms to

1:11:31

a vault in Shenandoah. But back

1:11:33

to business. An

1:11:35

army of lost and in enclosed space is

1:11:38

no place for a fledgling archer, so

1:11:40

despite the apparent urgency, he heads back to

1:11:42

camp and repairs rifle and armour ready

1:11:44

for a protracted gunfight. He

1:11:46

meets Audrey on his way into Hawkesville. She

1:11:49

wants Hugo dead, saying that the fact that she

1:11:51

even wants this is a measure of how dangerous

1:11:53

her father's become. Much as he

1:11:55

would prefer to side with Oberlin, Audrey's way

1:11:57

leaves less risk in the future and as

1:11:59

Hugo's daughter he feels she should have the

1:12:01

greater say on matters. After

1:12:03

fighting past a few lost he finds Hugo

1:12:05

up on a catwalk in the main room

1:12:07

housing the weather machine. Cassidy

1:12:10

is slumped next to him and no doubt

1:12:12

more lost are around somewhere. Like

1:12:14

all good villains Hugo spells out his plan

1:12:16

before vowing to end Jim the last person

1:12:18

standing in his way. Sure

1:12:20

enough several heavily armed lost appear and it's

1:12:22

all he can do to heal up the damage

1:12:24

they're doing. He runs up the

1:12:26

metal walkways but they provide precious little

1:12:28

cover. At the top he finds

1:12:31

a terminal and hammers on the keyboard in the hope

1:12:33

that it will do something with the machine that

1:12:35

will put a stop to the fight but it's unresponsive.

1:12:38

About 15 stim packs down and having barely

1:12:40

got a shot in himself in desperation he

1:12:42

jumps up on top of the weather machine

1:12:44

finally out of the firing line and taking

1:12:46

only small amounts of damage from what seems

1:12:48

to be lightning jumping around the machine. From

1:12:51

this perch, she's able to pick the

1:12:53

lost off without too much trouble as they

1:12:55

stand conveniently around the perimeter of the

1:12:57

room. Hugo retreats towards the

1:12:59

doorway and Jim has to descend a couple

1:13:02

of times to coax him out, although it's

1:13:04

a much more straightforward matter without the lost

1:13:06

interfering. Annoying to

1:13:08

the last, Hugo recovers all his

1:13:10

health a couple of times before finally

1:13:12

surrendering. Oberlin and

1:13:14

Audrey are in his ear again, putting forth their

1:13:16

arguments as to what should be done with Hugo.

1:13:19

Jim doesn't want to take any chances, and fires

1:13:21

the final shot to hopefully end this once

1:13:23

and for all. Oberlin takes

1:13:26

it in his stride, but at least

1:13:28

wants the body recovered before it deteriorates. And

1:13:30

Audrey shoots Oberlin in cold

1:13:32

blood. Jim can't believe what he's

1:13:35

heard, but stays behind in a semi -day as

1:13:37

to power down the machine now that the terminal

1:13:39

has come to life. before pulling himself

1:13:41

together and storming back to the vault.

1:13:44

He seriously hates the Stoltz family.

1:13:46

Everyone is expendable to these

1:13:48

lion billionaires. And sure enough, Audrey

1:13:50

has sat there calmly, with no remorse for

1:13:52

Oberlin, and expecting Jim to give her

1:13:54

a pep talk about what a great overseer

1:13:56

she'll be. Like father,

1:13:58

like daughter, he thinks, turning and leaving

1:14:00

these degenerates behind for good. The

1:14:03

end. So... Yeah so I've

1:14:05

enjoyed my time in 76. I've

1:14:07

stuck with my round table build all

1:14:09

the way through I guess of my

1:14:11

perks are kind of utility ones like

1:14:13

cannibal and lone wanderer and stuff like

1:14:15

that so nothing that was sort of

1:14:17

weapon specific so it's been kind of

1:14:20

easy to sort switch a few times

1:14:22

between pistols and rifles and now bow

1:14:24

and arrow which like I say it

1:14:26

was always my plan to go

1:14:28

with archery at the end to continue

1:14:30

playing the game. So yeah, I've enjoyed it.

1:14:32

The Brotherhood questlines, all the earlier stuff

1:14:35

that I've done, the Overseer questline, the responders,

1:14:37

the scorched plague and all that. Skyline

1:14:40

Valley, not so much. Just, you know,

1:14:42

kind of like the ending where there's like

1:14:44

a classical fallout thing where you just

1:14:46

have to pick the least bad choice, I

1:14:48

suppose, although there's no good outcome. But

1:14:50

just the way you couldn't even

1:14:52

challenge Hugo. or Audrey in any of

1:14:54

the dialogue options was a bit

1:14:56

disappointing. But yeah, anyway, great

1:14:58

round table. Look forward to the next one. See

1:15:00

you all in the wasteland. Bye. Do

1:15:03

the 76 quests have

1:15:05

to be more on rails

1:15:07

because of the structure

1:15:09

of the game versus

1:15:11

like Fallout 4? There seem

1:15:14

to be less like

1:15:16

weaving options, fewer consequences to

1:15:18

answers, stuff like that. Yeah,

1:15:21

ultimately. the game can't change

1:15:23

as much as it might in other ones because

1:15:25

we're all playing in the same game world. Yeah.

1:15:28

They do have, you know, you can do

1:15:30

instances like within the instances themselves, you can see

1:15:32

different things and have different reactions from characters. And

1:15:35

that's why they've added more and more

1:15:37

instance places with these quest lines. But yeah,

1:15:39

the overall game world, no, there has

1:15:41

to be a happy medium that everybody plays

1:15:43

in. Yeah. But

1:15:45

that does answer a question a little bit.

1:15:47

She's planning on sticking with it some switching

1:15:49

to the bow and arrow now working on

1:15:51

that. She's already done most of the original

1:15:53

quest line, the overseers quest line up through.

1:15:55

She did up through Rose, I think she

1:15:57

was saying. I don't know if she's done

1:15:59

Free States or BOS on like the original

1:16:02

one yet. Vanessa, I don't remember

1:16:04

you talking about that. Maybe you have

1:16:06

apologies if so. She also started talking about

1:16:08

the mysteries of mysteries at the beginning,

1:16:10

one of a lot of people's favorite quest

1:16:12

line in the game. Like it's just

1:16:14

it's it's a nice one. It's got permutations,

1:16:16

it's got some surprises. I mean, not

1:16:18

the most surprising, but some surprises. And

1:16:20

cryptos, you just you can't beat the

1:16:22

lair. That lair unveil is maybe the

1:16:25

coolest moment in 76. And

1:16:27

a hot dress too, right,

1:16:29

Jess? I mean, I think so,

1:16:31

absolutely. Although I am wearing the fringe flapper

1:16:33

dress a bit more these days. What?

1:16:36

Variation? You know, you girls

1:16:39

got to mix it up, goes well

1:16:41

with the beret. As long as the coordinates

1:16:43

with the beret, that's what's important. I'm

1:16:45

surprised they haven't started releasing... variations

1:16:47

on the beret like pink sparkly

1:16:49

beret or red beret you're like

1:16:51

why aren't there a billion colors

1:16:53

a couple but they've been mostly

1:16:55

the military style yeah three states

1:16:57

and enclave and stuff the one

1:16:59

alternate is they did the fancy

1:17:02

gold beret the gold sparkly beret

1:17:04

oh the like the New Year's

1:17:06

dress or whatever the gala dress

1:17:08

yeah I do have that one

1:17:10

but I never really wear it

1:17:12

I like my foshnock beret it's

1:17:14

the coolest the OG no strawberry

1:17:16

berets No strawberry braids. Yeah,

1:17:19

but it's fun hearing friends. Yeah.

1:17:21

Yes. Some of the. Oh,

1:17:26

right. I sorry. I got that confused. He

1:17:28

said strawberry. I just went with it.

1:17:30

Same thing. You know, some redberry. Yeah, I

1:17:32

couldn't remember which berry. I

1:17:42

knew what he meant. But

1:17:47

just the thoughts on the quest line, it's

1:17:49

funny, while the story for Skyline Valley was pretty

1:17:51

complex, and we talked about how it had

1:17:53

some complexity, and there's even a bit of a

1:17:55

soap opera vibe to it. I wish it

1:17:57

had more space to flesh out some of the

1:17:59

family history and the stories and the rivalries.

1:18:01

I almost, now that I'm thinking about it, I

1:18:03

hadn't thought about this to know of it.

1:18:06

She mentioned the shadowy lightning storm, and it kind

1:18:08

of has a dark shadows vibe to it

1:18:10

too. You got Hugo as like Barnabas Collins and

1:18:12

everybody in the mansion. I

1:18:14

don't know for my old school Dark Shadows

1:18:16

fans, shout out. But

1:18:19

I assume most of you didn't watch

1:18:21

Gothic soap operas. My

1:18:23

mother -in -law loved that show.

1:18:26

The old one from like the 70s, 80s? Is

1:18:28

that when that was? No one was out

1:18:30

on 60s? I don't even know when that was

1:18:32

on. The original one was 80s.

1:18:34

And then the remake that I watched

1:18:36

more of was, I feel like it

1:18:38

was early 2000s. And then wasn't there

1:18:40

a Tim Burton movie too? Yes,

1:18:43

Tim Burton did a movie. Mm -hmm. I

1:18:45

could have sworn for it. It was

1:18:47

something, all right. Yeah. Okay, there we go.

1:18:49

Getting pictures, getting pictures of my new

1:18:51

favorite dress in there, Andrew, you want to

1:18:53

it. I do like that. See,

1:18:55

it's snazzy, right? What did you say that's called?

1:18:57

Is that the flapper? It's actually

1:18:59

called the fringe dress, but it's got a

1:19:01

flapper vibe to it. It totally does, you're right. Is

1:19:04

that a moth pendant? What

1:19:06

is your what is your necklace? I need a zoom

1:19:08

in. Oh, no, it's the pattern. No, it's just a

1:19:10

little tassel the pattern of the dress behind it with

1:19:12

a little tassel made it look like a moth I

1:19:14

was like, oh, that's kind of a neat moth pendant.

1:19:16

Where'd you get that? I totally

1:19:18

get that. Yeah, that would be cool I

1:19:20

would like a moth pendant too Clarence

1:19:22

Clarence and the rest of the moth cultists

1:19:24

are jealous. Oh, yeah, the dude

1:19:26

behind you in the picture has an

1:19:29

alt beret on too Is that would be

1:19:31

silly or is that the free state

1:19:33

grab the picture? Yeah,

1:19:35

that might be a Free States beret or

1:19:38

might be a random military one. Nice. Enclave.

1:19:40

Okay, that's an Enclave beret. Enclave.

1:19:44

Yeah, great feedback, Vanessa. Like I said, you need

1:19:46

to hear about opinion on a relative quest.

1:19:48

Love to know where you're at. Glad you've done

1:19:50

76 and really given it the old college

1:19:52

try. Even though other games distracted her on the

1:19:54

way through the round table, she stuck with

1:19:56

it. And that's great. You know, when someone who

1:19:58

tried 76 originally and was like, yeah, not

1:20:00

for me, or either too complicated, too weird, too

1:20:02

many other people, we all get that. We

1:20:05

definitely get that. But once you get into it,

1:20:07

you can really see the bones of a

1:20:09

regular fallout game in there too. Absolutely.

1:20:12

Excited to see if she continues to dabble

1:20:15

in it without the motivation of the

1:20:17

round table to keep her in there. We'll

1:20:19

see what we distract her with next, but I bet she will

1:20:21

for a bet. I hope she sticks

1:20:23

around. Whatever we do. Hey, speaking of,

1:20:26

she also just tried some mead for the

1:20:28

first time. Y 'all out there, you know,

1:20:30

playing Skyrim. She's gonna go to Skyrim.

1:20:32

We'll never see her again. She tasted mead.

1:20:34

She's gone. Well, no,

1:20:36

she grabbed some because she's played Skyrim,

1:20:38

of course, like most of us have,

1:20:40

and hadn't had mead. So yeah, I'm

1:20:42

a big fan. I've never tried it.

1:20:45

It's honey, beer, honey, wine. What

1:20:47

is it? Yeah, it's, I mean, it's

1:20:49

honey alcohol. It's kind of

1:20:51

a wine, but not really. I

1:20:53

don't know how meat is made. I mean,

1:20:55

but... But I've had locally made meat, so... I

1:20:58

think it's just yeast and honey. Ray would

1:21:00

hate it. It sounds super sweet, so Ray would

1:21:02

hate it. Yeah. There's other fruits there. It's...

1:21:04

I mean, okay, if you want super... I mean,

1:21:06

you don't want super honey, but if you

1:21:08

did, like, like, there's kripp -nick, there's some Polish

1:21:10

honey beverages that are insanely sweet. Meat is moderately

1:21:12

sweet. It can be a little bit tart

1:21:14

and sweet both, and it can have a bit

1:21:16

of a bite, depending on the kind of

1:21:19

meat you get. So, like, I've had

1:21:21

some... some local meetery. It's this blueberry mead

1:21:23

that I really like. And if you want to

1:21:25

get meat at the store, at the liquor

1:21:27

store, I recommend Chaucer's Mead. It's a

1:21:29

pretty standard, but it comes with mulling spices. It's

1:21:31

a good one. Every

1:21:34

year, the tech ops group for

1:21:36

DragonCon gets together for a party,

1:21:38

you know, a couple of weeks

1:21:40

before the event. And

1:21:43

they're... are several people in the

1:21:45

group that make me brew their

1:21:47

own meat and bring it along

1:21:49

and bring it. So that is

1:21:51

such. Yeah. That is such an

1:21:53

SCA or a cosplayer thing to

1:21:55

do. Is brewing

1:21:58

specifically for beer

1:22:00

or all alcohols brewed?

1:22:03

I think beer and cider qualify as brewed.

1:22:05

I don't think the others are there.

1:22:07

usually distilled. Okay. Yeah. Yeah.

1:22:11

But. We should get

1:22:13

into Sean's feedback next. I think this

1:22:15

is our last feedback of the

1:22:17

season Well Sean you have on or

1:22:19

sir the Chronicles of Isaiah Pollux

1:22:21

part 9 I Remember a song from

1:22:23

my youth that my father used

1:22:25

to sing in the car going on

1:22:28

family vacations the last few months

1:22:30

have Brought the words into focus as

1:22:32

I try to make heads or

1:22:34

tails of what my future holds here

1:22:36

in West Virginia Sometimes the lights

1:22:38

all shining on me other times I

1:22:40

can barely see Lately, it

1:22:42

occurs to me what a

1:22:44

long, strange trip it's been. After

1:22:47

all of my adventures, my debacle

1:22:49

with the Brotherhood, my on -again,

1:22:51

off -again fascination with Duchess, my

1:22:53

shotgun shack and the cranberry bog,

1:22:56

and finally putting an end to

1:22:58

the madman known as Hugo Stoltz,

1:23:00

it has indeed been a long,

1:23:02

strange trip. There

1:23:07

are many loose ends still dangling

1:23:09

around here in Appalachia, but I

1:23:11

don't think my place is here

1:23:13

Frankly, I'm not sure where my

1:23:15

place is anymore I still feel

1:23:17

the desire to eradicate the evil

1:23:19

that still permeates as part of

1:23:22

the country the blood eagles the

1:23:24

wacko mothman cultists and the mutated

1:23:26

Abominations that roam the countryside, but

1:23:28

I can't help but wonder what

1:23:30

lies beyond this place. I want

1:23:32

to go out there to

1:23:34

see how bad things really

1:23:36

are and what if anything this

1:23:38

weary wastelander can do to

1:23:40

make a difference but shit what

1:23:42

kind of difference can one

1:23:44

man even make my trip to

1:23:46

Pittsburgh showed me that there

1:23:48

are places that are far worse

1:23:51

Atlantic City seemed to be

1:23:53

better but the seething underbelly reveals

1:23:55

that as a ruse to

1:23:57

lure in folks tired of fighting

1:23:59

why am i so itchy

1:24:01

anyway so here i stand I'm

1:24:03

not sure where to go

1:24:05

for the first time since

1:24:07

leaving the vault. I

1:24:09

have no end game in sight. I

1:24:12

am fairly certain Vault Tech is

1:24:14

dead and gone. I could

1:24:16

go to DC and possibly confirm that, but

1:24:18

all accounts tell me that the place is

1:24:20

more of a wasteland than here. Head

1:24:23

home to California? Maybe, but

1:24:25

then again, it can't be much

1:24:27

better. The war ended only 25 years ago and

1:24:29

history shows that the West Coast was hit hardest

1:24:31

of all. And I would head

1:24:33

north, but winter will be here soon. This

1:24:36

looks like a rash. Maybe

1:24:39

I should go see Audrey before heading

1:24:41

too far away. The logical

1:24:43

thing to do is to let

1:24:45

things unfold and see what

1:24:47

happens. I'll head to the

1:24:49

wayward first. Go see

1:24:51

Duchess. Then

1:24:53

home. I guess

1:24:55

maybe to the bog house. It

1:24:58

has indeed been

1:25:00

a long strange. Trip.

1:25:03

Isaiah Pollock. Upon

1:25:06

returning to Vault 63, it was time

1:25:08

to confront Hugo. We exchanged

1:25:10

words and he kept insisting that none of

1:25:12

what he did was wrong and that what

1:25:14

happened with the loss was merely a means

1:25:16

to an end, an incomplete transition. I

1:25:18

confronted him at every turn and still

1:25:20

he maintained that his experiments, the weather machine,

1:25:22

everything, was in the best interest of

1:25:25

the inhabitants of the area, whether feral, lost,

1:25:27

or otherwise, and that in the process

1:25:29

he could regain his wife. and he only

1:25:31

needed a small bit of help from

1:25:33

me to finish the process. He

1:25:35

feels Audrey and Hilda are close

1:25:37

and just one final push will set

1:25:39

everything right. At what

1:25:41

cost Hugo? At what cost? At

1:25:44

some point in the conversation it occurred to

1:25:46

me that there was no way to alter his

1:25:48

course or change his mind and aside from

1:25:50

just gunning him down right there I wasn't going

1:25:52

to get anywhere so I sought out Audrey

1:25:54

and Hilda hoping maybe they had a way to

1:25:57

reason with him. I found

1:25:59

them in the clinic with Oberlin. and

1:26:01

the conversation there was quite animated. They

1:26:04

were discussing how to proceed and

1:26:06

when I came in, they

1:26:08

asked me for my input. Hilda

1:26:10

had a tissue sample acquired from Hugo

1:26:12

and the three of them agreed that

1:26:14

one final experiment to determine why Hugo

1:26:16

was affected differently than the rest of

1:26:18

the lost was required. Oberlin

1:26:20

was concerned, as I

1:26:22

was, about Hugo's fast diminishing

1:26:25

sanity and reliability. Audrey

1:26:27

just wanted to save lives. admirable,

1:26:29

I suppose, but not very

1:26:31

likely. Since I was

1:26:33

the surface guy and the cave guy

1:26:35

and the go look for this thing guy

1:26:37

while we were at it, it was

1:26:39

settled that I would head out to the

1:26:41

weather devices, activate them, and hopefully succeed

1:26:43

where we had all failed so far. The

1:26:46

first harvester was a control exercise to

1:26:48

set a baseline. The machine was surrounded

1:26:50

by super mutants and they would need

1:26:52

to be eliminated to start up the

1:26:54

machine even after initializing the

1:26:56

experiment more mutants showed up and fortunately

1:26:59

I was able to protect the harvester. The

1:27:01

results of the experiment were of

1:27:03

course uninclusive. At the next

1:27:05

station a flock of giant wild turkeys

1:27:07

had taken up the place as a roost.

1:27:10

If nothing else we would eat well

1:27:12

for the next few months. These things

1:27:14

were huge and quite resilient especially the

1:27:16

big ones. I had to defend

1:27:19

the machine for a short time but

1:27:21

in the end fending off all the turkeys

1:27:23

was fairly non -problematic. The experiment revealed that

1:27:25

there was no way that the loss

1:27:27

would ever be returned to normal, even at

1:27:29

schools, only that they would

1:27:31

be controlled by Hugo. What

1:27:33

the fuck, Oberlin was pissed too,

1:27:35

and over the cops I could hear

1:27:37

that he was done with Stoltz,

1:27:39

and ran out to go arrest him.

1:27:42

Audrey wanted to give this one more

1:27:44

shot to confirm the results. My

1:27:47

heart was telling me that I should go back to

1:27:49

the vault and provide backup for Oberlin but there was

1:27:51

no way I could make it back in time so

1:27:53

I just shook my head and complied with Audrey's request.

1:27:56

The final station was not far and when

1:27:58

I got there the place was crawling with

1:28:01

lost. If nothing else these mothers can

1:28:03

take a lot of punishment. I

1:28:05

swapped out my rifle for my plasma

1:28:07

flamethrower and proceeded to melt them down

1:28:09

and secure, activate, and defend the last

1:28:11

machine. As I had surmised

1:28:13

the previous result was confirmed and this was

1:28:15

at the point at which I heard

1:28:17

Oberlin on comms again screaming that Stoltz had

1:28:19

left the vault. He requested

1:28:21

I return to the atrium and we should

1:28:23

discuss our next moves. I spoke

1:28:25

to Oberlin upon returning. We all agreed that

1:28:28

there was only one place Hugo would go and

1:28:30

that would be the Hawksbill station to power

1:28:32

up the weather machine. He needed to be stopped.

1:28:34

He would be in the meteorology sector and

1:28:36

I would need to prevent him from powering up

1:28:38

the machine no matter the cost. Oberlin

1:28:40

was insistent at this point that we

1:28:42

need to take him alive and arrested for

1:28:45

his crimes. Audrey felt differently

1:28:47

and I didn't blame her. I also felt that

1:28:49

this guy would have to be dealt with

1:28:51

or risk having him attempt something like this again

1:28:53

down the line sometime. My skin

1:28:55

began to itch as I was thinking

1:28:57

this truly was the only way to

1:28:59

be sure without actually nuking the place

1:29:01

from orbit. I agreed to

1:29:03

meet Audrey at the station and she

1:29:05

would unlock the barriers I needed to

1:29:07

access the meteorology sector and confront Hugo. Oberlin

1:29:10

was still in my ear about taking the

1:29:12

guy alive. Yeah, keep talking,

1:29:14

Colonel. I'm not in your army anymore.

1:29:17

The machine was massive, and it

1:29:19

looked like Hugo had been busy. Cassie

1:29:22

was with him, sitting in a corner

1:29:24

platform above, motionless and breathing heavily. As

1:29:27

with all megalomaniacal

1:29:30

villains, Hugo

1:29:32

launched into a monologue about saving

1:29:34

his wife and shepherding the

1:29:36

lost. They tell him, of course,

1:29:38

that he can't get away with this, and I

1:29:40

was there to stop him. Then, in

1:29:42

those moments, The madness was so

1:29:44

obvious I could see only one

1:29:47

way to end this. Sorry, Oberlin.

1:29:49

I chased down the crazed Hugo.

1:29:52

Around and around we went. I

1:29:54

unloaded magazine after magazine into him, and

1:29:56

power and electricity pulsed through his

1:29:58

body. At one point, I thought I

1:30:00

had him, but he began floating

1:30:02

in the air and calling legions of

1:30:05

lost into the fight. I

1:30:07

came prepared though, and I was able

1:30:09

to not only take down the lost,

1:30:11

but also lay a few more slugs

1:30:13

into Hugo. Again, I thought I had

1:30:15

the advantage, and again he rose up,

1:30:17

summoning more lost to his defense, and

1:30:20

again I was able to hold him

1:30:22

off. The barrel of my rifle glowed

1:30:24

red as I unloaded several more magazines

1:30:26

into the lost onslaught and into Hugo. Then,

1:30:30

all at once, it was over.

1:30:33

Hugo knelt on the ground before me and

1:30:35

pleaded for me to listen one last

1:30:37

time. Oberlin wants him alive. Stoltz

1:30:39

thinks he can make a difference. and

1:30:42

for me to do the right thing. But

1:30:44

then I thought of Audrey. Hugo

1:30:46

had murdered her lover, had

1:30:49

destroyed the lives of so many. I

1:30:51

was furious with him and how he

1:30:53

had manipulated all of us and lied

1:30:55

to us. The end

1:30:57

came quickly for him. I took

1:30:59

my plasma flamer out of my pack and

1:31:01

I incinerated him. I looked over

1:31:03

his corpse and I could hear Oberlin and

1:31:06

Combs horrified by what I had done. But

1:31:08

asking, to recover Hugo's body

1:31:10

in order to still learn what they could from

1:31:12

his body. I climbed

1:31:15

up the platform and I

1:31:17

deactivated the machine. It

1:31:19

was over. Epilogue. I

1:31:22

told myself I did what I had

1:31:24

to do. Hopefully in time the Dwellers

1:31:26

Vault 63 will be able to heal

1:31:28

and move forward. When I

1:31:30

returned to the vault to gather my gear

1:31:32

and say my goodbyes I was happy to see

1:31:35

that Audrey was taking the mantle of overseer. She

1:31:37

was hopeful for the future and for me I

1:31:39

was glad to finally be able to put all

1:31:41

of this behind me. I stepped out

1:31:43

of the vault and then out of the

1:31:45

mansion and into the storm. I didn't

1:31:47

look back and I walked for a long

1:31:49

while going over in my head what the

1:31:51

last few months had revealed to me about

1:31:53

myself. I had always been

1:31:55

someone who dwelled on the outside, never

1:31:58

really being considered close to anyone

1:32:00

and even being known as someone who

1:32:02

was too smart for their own

1:32:04

good. It was something I had

1:32:06

grown accustomed to and I embraced it.

1:32:08

I was too smart. I

1:32:10

didn't care much for other people, save those

1:32:12

I could appreciate on the same intellectual level

1:32:14

as myself. Dutchess was one of

1:32:17

those people, and now I would consider

1:32:19

Audrey in that group as well. I

1:32:21

strode into the dying light of the day,

1:32:23

headed north into the forest, for a cold

1:32:25

beer at the wayward. I have

1:32:27

no idea what I will do now. I

1:32:29

have no mission, no goal to achieve. Perhaps

1:32:31

that's for the best. I'm

1:32:33

not tied down, I can do as I please. I

1:32:37

do know this though. Need

1:32:39

to see a doctor about

1:32:41

this rash and this sore throat

1:32:43

Never should have trusted a

1:32:45

doctor smelled like that Is this

1:32:47

his first time through 76

1:32:49

is that correct he has played

1:32:51

a lot of 76 in

1:32:53

fact yeah We were yeah, we

1:32:55

were talking about levels earlier

1:32:57

and such the various level people

1:32:59

had got to and I

1:33:01

say epoxy me left a level

1:33:03

398 Already yeah, I saw

1:33:05

that and I was like wait

1:33:07

is that his only is

1:33:09

around table characters he played a

1:33:11

lot Since just this right

1:33:13

or is this has existed before

1:33:16

the round table? Yeah, so

1:33:18

Isaiah Pollux was just for the

1:33:20

round table, but if he's

1:33:22

been playing that character primarily I

1:33:24

believe Since yep was a

1:33:26

new character. He says and level

1:33:28

fucking 400 goddamn. He's done

1:33:30

raids and expeditions. Yeah, he is

1:33:32

higher in in Five months

1:33:34

on the round table, then my

1:33:36

main character is in 4 ,000

1:33:38

hours. I mean, admittedly I

1:33:40

have seven characters, but still Five

1:33:42

goddamn months to play this

1:33:44

round table in four to five.

1:33:46

Yeah, we started in November,

1:33:48

right? You you guys who submitted

1:33:50

all season long deserve I don't know

1:33:52

gift cards or something. It's just like

1:33:54

that's fucking cool. Congratulations, you guys. That's

1:33:56

really awesome Yeah, we will have to

1:33:58

do, we will have to do another

1:34:00

Treasure Trove giveaway sometime soon. Get some

1:34:02

games back in during, when we're outside

1:34:05

the round table season, we'll get a

1:34:07

few more Fallout games playing and we'll

1:34:09

do the giveaway. Yeah, first episode was

1:34:11

November 22nd to April 18th. So I

1:34:13

try to keep the round tables to

1:34:15

20 episodes or less. It's one they've

1:34:17

gotten like a couple of Fallout 4

1:34:19

round tables have been like 23, 24

1:34:21

episodes. That can be bit much. Yeah,

1:34:25

that's sick. That's literally six months. That's crazy.

1:34:27

Yeah, but y 'all didn't want to condense

1:34:29

too much, you know, blowing through an entire

1:34:31

quest line in two episodes seemed a bit

1:34:33

too fast, so. And,

1:34:35

you know, really, Duchess's

1:34:37

intellect is what he's

1:34:39

so fond of, not

1:34:41

her blueprint writing skills.

1:34:44

I mean, as he's talking, he's talking about

1:34:46

making friends. I do think that evolution

1:34:48

of Stratoblaster was kind of, I mean, sorry,

1:34:50

of Isaiah was kind of interesting because

1:34:52

he was a bit of a, a really

1:34:54

bit of a pompous jerk at the

1:34:56

beginning. And you definitely got an evolution, especially

1:34:58

in this back half of the roundtable

1:35:00

where he started accepting more people and talking

1:35:02

to more people and being willing to

1:35:04

work with them various levels. But

1:35:06

what are you saying about Duchess Blueprints?

1:35:09

Well, he said the thing that he

1:35:11

admired about Duchess was her intellect. I

1:35:14

thought it was more

1:35:16

of her blueprint drawing

1:35:18

skills. Now, Blueprints was

1:35:20

that game Jess was talking about earlier,

1:35:22

Ray. No, blueprints is what she bends

1:35:25

over the table to draw. OK,

1:35:27

yeah, there's a little blue peach happening there.

1:35:29

I thought that's what she meant. Yeah.

1:35:31

Oh, gosh, Duchess, I tell you,

1:35:33

you know, when you have the Appalachia's

1:35:35

ass off, you're like, if Captain

1:35:38

America is America's ass, then if you

1:35:40

have the Appalachian ass off, would

1:35:42

it be Duchess, Sophia, Valdez?

1:35:45

There's like one other two. That's

1:35:47

a quarter off of it. Have you seen

1:35:49

some of those pictures people do? It just

1:35:51

cracks me up. They're like, oh, Pixar Mom,

1:35:53

but Pixar Mom have the best butt. Is

1:35:55

there a duchess -ass culture out there? There

1:35:58

is. There is. Yeah. No, people using the

1:36:00

Mothman worship remote behind Duchess. I try to

1:36:02

get a little self -conscious about it, but

1:36:04

I've seen it for sure. Oh,

1:36:06

Duchess. You got a little whale

1:36:08

tail showing. Watch out, girl. I

1:36:11

think I mentioned back in the

1:36:13

day, but one of the times that

1:36:15

we were streaming with some of...

1:36:17

76 people over there. We did ask

1:36:19

about the Duchess model and the

1:36:21

devs swear up and down. Duchess has

1:36:23

the exact same model as the

1:36:25

other women in the game. Maybe.

1:36:29

But they calculate the perfect angle, right? Like

1:36:31

that angle plus that white belt. I

1:36:33

mean, it's popping. Anyway, I

1:36:35

can't think of anybody else that bends

1:36:37

over a table like that. I

1:36:40

mean, Sophia does kind of at her

1:36:42

at her console, too. You

1:36:44

know, oh, yeah, I do. So we were asking

1:36:46

if I still have pictures. Anyway,

1:36:48

sorry, we did a little picture

1:36:50

series of Sophia's butt, too, for

1:36:52

fun, just joking around. You had

1:36:54

her twerking. Yeah. You

1:36:56

know, I have noticed that people, you

1:36:59

know, anyway, anyway, thanks, Ray.

1:37:02

That was a fun digression. Getting off

1:37:04

that one. I did like Isaiah's

1:37:06

change of a time. Obviously, he's becoming

1:37:08

a ghoul, too. That is

1:37:10

a cool little wrinkle, a literal loss

1:37:12

of wrinkles. To add to the character.

1:37:14

I like that. He also I have

1:37:16

restrained myself all episode You all mentioned

1:37:18

her he's and I didn't push the

1:37:20

button once during your feedback. That's called

1:37:23

respect I'm seriously waiting for it. It's

1:37:25

like I was it was so hard for

1:37:27

me not to push it What was going

1:37:29

on? I was like is she missing it?

1:37:31

What happened and then another one went by

1:37:33

I was like there It's like me. It

1:37:35

was like you guys saying and Lee

1:37:39

said, you know, it's like what

1:37:41

I've missed it a couple of times.

1:37:43

You guys are really leaning into

1:37:45

it. It's funny. Yeah. It's a literal

1:37:47

button. Like you usually have to look up sounds, but

1:37:49

you've got your soundboard with your couple of buttons.

1:37:51

I've got my soundboard with my buttons. Yeah.

1:37:54

Turkey. That's a

1:37:56

good one. Love that turkey. Gotta

1:37:58

love the turkey. All right, again,

1:38:00

thank you guys all season long who

1:38:02

submitted feedback What's one of the main

1:38:04

components of our project here and we

1:38:06

really couldn't do it without you guys

1:38:08

So again another heartfelt thanks to everyone

1:38:10

out there who's been sending us in

1:38:13

feedback this season and all the previous

1:38:15

seasons It's always a always a pleasure

1:38:17

to hear about everyone's adventures in the

1:38:19

game 100 % and getting a new

1:38:21

person joining pretty regularly like most seasons

1:38:23

someone new jumps in and it's just

1:38:25

it's always great to hear your take

1:38:27

on things love it never Be never

1:38:29

like even if you don't know if

1:38:31

you can stick with a round table.

1:38:34

Hey start a character with us or

1:38:36

come in halfway through We just we

1:38:38

enjoy having the feedback. It's a big

1:38:40

part of our show getting the community

1:38:42

in there and involved It's it just

1:38:44

it really adds flavor to the show

1:38:46

is the whether you want to do

1:38:48

just the facts whether you want to

1:38:50

do Breakdown of your stats and statistics

1:38:53

and how you actually tackle things on

1:38:55

the numbers or whether you do the

1:38:57

role -play thing They all have their place

1:38:59

and we love it Yeah, I mean

1:39:01

you make a good point it it

1:39:03

also kind of You know brings a

1:39:05

little bit of a creative aspect to

1:39:07

an activity that normally is viewed as

1:39:09

sort of a passive Activity you know

1:39:11

I mean so the round table really

1:39:14

lets you you know hone your storytelling

1:39:16

skills etc. You know so and I

1:39:18

can tell and you're talking about the

1:39:20

progression of characters, but I can tell

1:39:22

the just the progression of like

1:39:24

storytelling like Lee has really

1:39:27

blossomed as have you listened

1:39:29

to his earlier feedback and

1:39:31

and and where has has

1:39:33

just become some like epic

1:39:35

storytelling of this awesome long

1:39:38

narrative, you know, that's You

1:39:40

guys have we should all

1:39:42

be writers, right? It

1:39:44

gives us a chance to me. Yeah, nothing

1:39:47

inspires us like the games we love or

1:39:49

any media we love. Yeah, that's God damn.

1:39:51

I remember first playing Skyrim and being like,

1:39:53

ah, you can't play it at work. So

1:39:55

you have to listen to podcasts. And I

1:39:57

would listen to the soundtrack all the time,

1:39:59

just like driving to work, see flowers along

1:40:01

the side of the road. That looks like

1:40:04

a blue mountain flower. I wish I could

1:40:06

get out and pick it, you know, just

1:40:08

totally. It's not a

1:40:10

feed fan fiction. You know what I

1:40:12

mean? Like, like we don't do fans

1:40:14

pretty much when you're falling on a

1:40:16

quest and you're kind of flushing it

1:40:18

out a way it of becomes like

1:40:20

that. Yeah, totally. And speaking of soundtracks.

1:40:23

There was an awesome episode of Starfield

1:40:25

Lorecast. Oh, yeah. Tell

1:40:27

us about that. It was

1:40:29

all about the soundtrack of

1:40:31

Starfield. And that was

1:40:33

something. What was it, those six little

1:40:35

notes? Yeah, the six iconic notes. So,

1:40:38

yeah, episode 57 of the Starfield Lorecast

1:40:40

came out and it was another solo one,

1:40:42

a little bit of a longer project.

1:40:44

I wrote it kind of like a video

1:40:46

essay, kind of writing a

1:40:48

lot of it out ahead just so

1:40:50

that I could Get my thoughts on paper

1:40:52

use excerpts from interviews and such so

1:40:55

thanks. I'm glad you listened and enjoyed it,

1:40:57

right? Yeah

1:40:59

Talked about waxing poetic You let me

1:41:01

write things down and I do

1:41:03

that's why it's better to speak off

1:41:05

the cuff Otherwise I get all

1:41:07

super poetic when I start writing things

1:41:09

out But it was it was

1:41:11

a fun episode to do beautiful. Anyway,

1:41:13

I'm glad you listened right. Thank

1:41:15

you. It was a fun listen Alright

1:41:17

you guys, well I think that

1:41:20

wraps up our round table for

1:41:22

this season with all your feedback

1:41:24

and thanks again everybody. And

1:41:26

let's go ahead and check in and

1:41:28

see what new juicy news bits we

1:41:30

got coming up on our guanibits. Jessica

1:41:32

to the office please. Jessica

1:41:34

to the office, your guanibits are ready. Please

1:41:37

come pick them up. Thank

1:41:39

you Jessica. Okay, so in

1:41:41

a, oh sorry, I've turned the intercom,

1:41:43

hold on. Do you have, you have?

1:41:45

Okay, there we go. Sorry That's great.

1:41:47

So two days ago on a bit

1:41:49

y 'all Get your eggs get your

1:41:51

egg is here. We are collecting death

1:41:53

claw eggs for Easter again. Yes that

1:41:56

time is upon us once again this

1:41:58

year Easter is on April 20th We

1:42:00

are already halfway through the week leading

1:42:02

up to it so from the 15th

1:42:04

to I think the 22nd They are

1:42:06

doing death claw eggs every couple days

1:42:08

switching them out And if you collect

1:42:10

all six, you get the one -eared bunny

1:42:12

head we were talking about earlier. A

1:42:15

lot of people already have it unlocked, but if

1:42:17

you don't, this is your opportunity. Like I said,

1:42:19

we are halfway through already. I think

1:42:21

there are only two or three eggs

1:42:23

left, so get on it and get that

1:42:25

bunny head. It's pretty great. Is that

1:42:27

one of those items with the atom star

1:42:30

beside it, so you can build it

1:42:32

across all your characters? Is it one of

1:42:34

those things? The bunny head, I

1:42:36

believe you can. Hmm.

1:42:40

Don't I think yeah, it's an account unlock. I'm

1:42:42

pretty sure the bunny head is an account

1:42:44

unlock. Okay, but I can't guarantee it, but I

1:42:46

am pretty sure I think oh, yeah Brando

1:42:48

and chat says I was wondering where the bunny

1:42:50

head came from So that is what it

1:42:52

is. It's a challenge each year and it's cumulative

1:42:54

So say you only get four of the

1:42:56

death claw eggs last year You can get the

1:42:58

two you missed this year and get it

1:43:00

or if you get a couple this year If

1:43:02

you don't quite make it if you only

1:43:04

grab some of them you can grab the rest

1:43:06

next year So eventually everybody will

1:43:08

have the bunny mask, but it was Jerry's

1:43:10

favorite mask back in the day Jerry and

1:43:12

a couple others with the only people I

1:43:14

know like it was very rare that first

1:43:16

year or two Because it was one of their

1:43:18

first challenges We had to do every day

1:43:20

and the first year they did it I

1:43:22

think it was one day each it might

1:43:24

have been two days each But it was

1:43:26

really tight this year. They're doing better. It's

1:43:28

more like two or three days for each egg

1:43:31

and where that that bunny mask with the

1:43:33

clown suit Yeah,

1:43:35

my favorite clown buddy. He has it in

1:43:37

real life, too. If you didn't know, he actually

1:43:39

has a one -eared bunny mask in real life.

1:43:41

That's awesome. You know, we all got

1:43:43

to cosplay our character somehow, right? So

1:43:46

next up on the news,

1:43:48

Andrew, we have an update for

1:43:50

76, speaking of, on the

1:43:52

22nd. just coming Tuesday. So

1:43:54

servers will be down for server maintenance. There is

1:43:56

an update. Now, they haven't said what is in

1:43:59

this update, and we know they're testing phishing and

1:44:01

such on the PTS. I do not

1:44:03

think this is the phishing update. In fact, I'm

1:44:05

pretty sure it isn't. That is still in the

1:44:07

future. This is going to

1:44:09

be more bug fixes and server

1:44:11

maintenance fixing, working on some of

1:44:13

the crash issues, the power armor

1:44:15

issues, some of the perk issues,

1:44:18

and double reinforcing some of what they already did on the

1:44:20

last quick update. That's pretty much all this one's going

1:44:22

to be. Assuming, and

1:44:24

okay, conspiracy just to. So

1:44:27

y 'all heard in the breaking

1:44:29

news last week, And obviously, through

1:44:31

the grapevine, that the rumor is

1:44:33

strong that a believing is finally

1:44:35

coming out tomorrow. I mean, on

1:44:37

the 21st. Tomorrow. It's

1:44:39

always tomorrow. It's always tomorrow. 21st,

1:44:42

it'll be tomorrow. Right. Exactly. Yeah.

1:44:44

On the 21st, they'll tell us coming

1:44:46

out tomorrow again. Because nobody ever, ever,

1:44:48

ever, ever, ever in the history of

1:44:50

the world has ever launched a game

1:44:52

on a Monday. I

1:44:55

mean, it's very rare. It's not very

1:44:57

common for sure. So. We'll see.

1:44:59

The only reason we now think it's

1:45:01

the 21st is because of that

1:45:03

Xbox support comment where, like I said,

1:45:05

some tricky little weasels, some sly

1:45:07

devils, some little gray foxes slipped in

1:45:10

there and they asked Xbox support

1:45:12

AI, hey, will the Oblivion remaster

1:45:14

be available on cloud streaming? One might be able

1:45:16

to play on cloud streaming and it comes

1:45:18

back saying, oh, it'll be out on the 21st,

1:45:20

which means it might, but should be available

1:45:22

for cloud streaming at that time. because

1:45:24

the AI has access to info that

1:45:26

the people will not share. The people

1:45:28

are hiding it. The AI

1:45:30

is trolling us. God,

1:45:32

AI trolls too? That's the next

1:45:35

level. could totally happen. Anyway,

1:45:37

if you have messaged Xbox support after that first

1:45:39

day, they did fix it, which is yet another

1:45:41

clue that maybe it was real or maybe it

1:45:43

was bad. Or that it was a troll and

1:45:45

they didn't like having a troll in there. It's

1:45:48

true. And we only think it's AI. Maybe

1:45:50

it was an actual person responding and trolling. Who

1:45:53

knows? But the conspiracy part

1:45:55

of me says, if this is out the

1:45:57

21st, 22nd, there can be a lot of good

1:45:59

news coming up. And so whenever there's a

1:46:02

big good news happening, great things happening, it's also

1:46:04

a great time for people to announce things

1:46:06

that may not be as good to kind of

1:46:08

hide it in the cover of the big

1:46:10

things. So I'm just going to

1:46:12

say, if they've got some things on maintenance

1:46:14

that might be a little bit tougher

1:46:16

that are coming with this update, whether there's

1:46:18

some stuff coming up they need to

1:46:20

fix that could be an issue or problematic.

1:46:22

whether there might be people who have

1:46:24

been doing things they shouldn't and are going

1:46:26

to get banned. That could happen around

1:46:28

this update. So don't be surprised if you

1:46:30

see a little bad news or something

1:46:32

of the good. It's just that these things

1:46:34

often work. And we're on

1:46:36

to you. We know how you do these

1:46:39

things. But we will see. Oh,

1:46:41

here's a fun thing. Tomorrow

1:46:43

is the 250th anniversary of the

1:46:45

Battle of Lexington and Concord. So

1:46:48

yay, Preston. Hey, all right. Minutemen,

1:46:51

go. Viva La

1:46:53

Minutemen. I just thought of a bit of

1:46:55

real history in there. That was on,

1:46:57

I believe, what is

1:47:00

April 19th

1:47:02

in 1775, right?

1:47:04

So it's been 250 years. Holy

1:47:06

cow. The revolution is starting.

1:47:09

Yeah, expect some 250 years of the

1:47:11

US kind of stuff happening as this

1:47:13

year goes on and next year starts.

1:47:15

So some of that. But yeah, I've made

1:47:17

me think about our Minutemen and old

1:47:19

Preston Garvey. Also, I did

1:47:21

get a look at some of the

1:47:23

fishing trophies on the PTS. So

1:47:26

one of the fun aspects of the

1:47:28

new fishing system is, of course, like

1:47:30

any good fisherman, you gotta tell your

1:47:32

tall tales about the fish you caught.

1:47:34

But it always works better if you

1:47:36

can have it mounted on your wall,

1:47:38

because, like we're saying, Bethesda loves mounting

1:47:40

things in all their games. You get

1:47:42

the mounted creatures. And in this one,

1:47:44

we are getting all these fish. But

1:47:47

also the axolotls they're adding axolotls to

1:47:49

the game like in the TV show

1:47:51

Well, that was obviously a golper, but

1:47:53

it was the golper that looked like

1:47:55

an axolotl and so as an homage

1:47:57

to that they're bringing in axolotls into

1:47:59

76 where you can catch special ones

1:48:01

in each region and I saw some

1:48:03

of the mounted ones they look great

1:48:06

It's actually gonna be fun mounted trophies

1:48:08

like when the mounted heads first came

1:48:10

out. They actually had some value Like

1:48:12

now you get them free with every

1:48:14

mole miner pail, you know, a Christmas

1:48:16

present or whatever. Like they're nonstop. Mole

1:48:19

miner pails are like boxes of weedies. You

1:48:21

open up, there's a prize inside. You know,

1:48:23

you get another mounted head. Yay. But

1:48:26

back in the day, they were actually kind of

1:48:28

exciting and they showed you actually a comp or something.

1:48:30

And with fishing, that's going to be

1:48:32

a thing again, I think, at least probably the first

1:48:34

five, six months as people learn the fishing system

1:48:36

and actually catch the cool fish, the special fish. So

1:48:39

they look cool, excited about that. Oh,

1:48:41

yeah. Randall says you need a Billy

1:48:43

Bass style singing camp. No, you need a

1:48:45

Billy Bass fish. Wait, did did we

1:48:47

have one for a little bit? We did.

1:48:49

Didn't we in 76 have a Bass

1:48:51

Sematic? What? Singing

1:48:53

Bass. Am I making

1:48:55

this up? I remember one. Bass Sematic is

1:48:57

the blender. Right. Bass Sematic

1:48:59

is the blender. But we had a

1:49:02

singing Billy Bass in 76. Didn't

1:49:04

we? God, I've been playing this

1:49:06

game too long. Am I making this up? I

1:49:08

feel like there was. OK. You

1:49:10

let me know how I totally lost

1:49:12

my mind. Someone's

1:49:14

asking if it was a nuclear winner. I don't

1:49:16

know. I mean, we've got the we've got the

1:49:18

fish mailbox. We've got mounted fish. We've

1:49:20

got fish that you can cook. All kinds of

1:49:22

fish. Yeah. I don't know why I thought there

1:49:24

was a singing fish. OK, ignore me. Anyway,

1:49:27

that's it for the bits. Good

1:49:29

bits. All right. Fish

1:49:32

bits. Favorite

1:49:34

Easter connections to

1:49:36

fall out. Are

1:49:38

there any? Wow.

1:49:41

Easter connections to Fallout. Well, I mean, there's

1:49:43

the time that we did that we

1:49:45

recreated the Last Supper in Fallout. That's

1:49:48

a little bit Easter. Right. And the bunny

1:49:50

mask, of course. Yeah, we've

1:49:52

got the bunny mask. Yeah, I'm

1:49:54

trying to think in earlier games. In earlier games, is

1:49:56

there a reference? I mean, there are

1:49:58

lots of Easter eggs, technically, right? But they're

1:50:00

not literal ones, I think. Well, how about

1:50:02

your favorite Fallout Easter egg then? Well,

1:50:04

I think Fallout 2 might have actually

1:50:07

had a literal Easter egg in it.

1:50:09

We haven't played it, but if you

1:50:11

go to lists of Easter eggs in

1:50:13

Fallout, you might see they

1:50:15

actually had a brightly colored egg that you could

1:50:17

find, like a literal Easter egg in the game.

1:50:19

Oh, that's great. Yeah. Fallout

1:50:21

2 was really, in some ways, the goofiest

1:50:23

of all of them. You know, people

1:50:26

blame 76, but 2 had a lot

1:50:28

of fun stuff. I remember

1:50:30

at one point reading a

1:50:32

list like that and seeing

1:50:34

some code that Lucy's

1:50:36

dad had to enter at

1:50:39

the very end of season one

1:50:41

into the vault tech the

1:50:43

the code pad so they could

1:50:45

take over the the the

1:50:47

energy thing God, I'm just terrible

1:50:49

terrible description, but evidently that

1:50:51

The code he entered in the

1:50:54

pad was like 11 11

1:50:56

98 or something Which was like

1:50:58

the re the release date

1:51:00

of the original fallout game or

1:51:02

something like that. You know

1:51:04

what I mean? so I think

1:51:07

little Easter eggs like that

1:51:09

are totally fun. I

1:51:11

love all those Easter eggs. I mean, they do

1:51:13

them with quest titles a lot, right? Like

1:51:15

a ton of quest titles. They're either about songs

1:51:17

they use in Fallout or they use little

1:51:19

Easter egg references on them. Trying

1:51:21

to think the whole

1:51:23

big boy, the whole big

1:51:25

boy restaurants there you get with

1:51:28

the big boy fast food chain.

1:51:30

I mean, there are tons. We mentioned just the other

1:51:33

day, the Blade Runner pistol with that gun. That's

1:51:35

a classic one. Right. Yeah. I didn't even know that.

1:51:37

Yeah. But if you go to a list of

1:51:39

Easter eggs, like if we were to pull up a

1:51:41

list of Easter eggs, there would be hundreds. Yeah.

1:51:43

I'm sure there's a billion of them, right? And

1:51:46

then, you know, Skyrim in Fallout

1:51:48

and Fallout in Skyrim and Easter eggs,

1:51:50

vice versa, other pop culture

1:51:52

movies and references and yada, yada, yada.

1:51:54

I'm sure there's a billion of them. All

1:51:57

right. Also Easter falls on 420

1:51:59

this year. 420 references and Fallout.

1:52:01

I don't know of any and

1:52:03

yet some would say nerd root

1:52:05

throughout the games and even in

1:52:07

fallout No, I mean, you know,

1:52:09

I'm just saying don't don't even

1:52:11

try the crimson till you've you

1:52:13

know, try the original Don't even

1:52:15

think about trying crimson to you've

1:52:18

had the original cream. That's all

1:52:20

you'll skunk yourself out. Don't don't

1:52:22

do it. You will. Yeah, I

1:52:24

just googled it and evidently Vault

1:52:26

42 is sometimes friendly referred to

1:52:28

as Vault 420 because there's like

1:52:30

evidently lots of overgrown greenery and

1:52:32

stuff in 42. What what? Games

1:52:34

42. You mean Vault 22? You

1:52:36

mean Vault 22 in New Vegas?

1:52:38

No, they're saying 42. I

1:52:41

don't know. I don't know

1:52:43

42 off the top of my head.

1:52:45

I'm not sure that 42 is a the

1:52:47

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. What the

1:52:49

fuck? What is that? Is

1:52:51

that in the original now can't be in

1:52:53

the original game? Yeah, no, I think

1:52:56

it's in the fallout Bible I think fault

1:52:58

42 is one of the ones that's in the

1:53:00

Bible only Okay, so there are some we

1:53:02

talked about that I've said before if you got

1:53:04

a chance, you know grab the PDF of

1:53:06

the fallout Bible There were a couple versions so

1:53:08

really fun read completely non -canon at this point

1:53:10

But it was Chris Avalon and a number

1:53:12

of people like back and forth the questions and

1:53:14

just kind of flushing things out And there

1:53:16

are a lot of vaults that we never see

1:53:18

that are mentioned in that Not all of

1:53:20

them, though. 42 is one of them. Oh, cool.

1:53:22

It's only in the Bible. And

1:53:25

the vault experiment was

1:53:27

no light bulbs of more

1:53:29

than 40 watts were

1:53:31

provided. Oh,

1:53:35

unlike Vault 36, they did not have the

1:53:37

best and the brightest. The

1:53:39

dullest, even. My

1:53:42

other favorite button. Brilliant.

1:53:47

Right. Oh, that's a good one. But yeah, no,

1:53:49

I can't think of many 420 references per se.

1:53:51

I mean, I got to tell you the number

1:53:53

of camps that I've been to over the years

1:53:55

that are actually like dispensaries, like they're like, my

1:53:57

camp, it's not a general

1:53:59

store, it's a dispensary. And they've

1:54:01

got like, they've got like

1:54:03

some of the stinky weed from

1:54:05

underneath Arctos in there. And

1:54:07

then they've got a bunch of

1:54:10

greenery and pots. And every

1:54:12

third person on 76 is named

1:54:14

like, 420 daddy

1:54:16

of some kind you

1:54:18

know well keep in

1:54:20

mind we play on

1:54:22

Xbox PC They may

1:54:25

not be quite as

1:54:27

much That's funny. I

1:54:29

wonder why that is

1:54:31

that's for Xbox in

1:54:33

particular interesting I

1:54:36

mean, it probably is. It's gamers in

1:54:38

general. Let's be fair. Gamers in general.

1:54:40

But it is such a thing since

1:54:42

the early days of Xbox Live. And

1:54:44

they're sitting there playing Halo 2, you

1:54:46

know. And we have all

1:54:48

been on in group party chats, group

1:54:50

chats with a whole lot of

1:54:52

Bublin going on. Oh, absolutely. All

1:54:54

right. I guess that's all I have this evening.

1:54:56

Do you guys have anything else you'd like to

1:54:58

bring up? Hey, do you have

1:55:00

anything? Nothing I got to

1:55:02

give. Yeah, let's call it a night then.

1:55:04

I guess the only thing I didn't

1:55:06

mention that I did mention that there is

1:55:08

a glowing camp, ghoul camp contest. That's

1:55:10

closing on the 22nd too when we got

1:55:12

the update. So if you were thinking

1:55:14

about entering one, make sure you get in by

1:55:16

the 22nd on the Bethesda Discord. I

1:55:18

couldn't find that asteroid that produces radiation.

1:55:21

I was looking for that the other day.

1:55:23

Where is that in floor decoration and miscellaneous

1:55:25

structure? Like I couldn't find that goddamn

1:55:27

thing. I think the asteroid is right near

1:55:29

the bottom of floor decor. I just

1:55:31

I hate because I feel like 800 I

1:55:33

feel like I'm looking for something and

1:55:36

then there's too many things in the list

1:55:38

on my brain sort of like goes

1:55:40

into Autopilot mode it's like and I'm sort

1:55:42

of like zoning out and by the

1:55:44

time you get you're like oh shit Did

1:55:46

I pass it by so you spend

1:55:48

more time? And then I try to Google

1:55:50

it and it's like I just wish

1:55:52

there was a diagram that just broke down

1:55:54

where everything is come on You know

1:55:56

they are they really are planning on reorganizing

1:55:58

the build menu That's just going to

1:56:00

make it even more of a mess at

1:56:02

this point. This is something I had

1:56:04

heard. This is something I had heard in

1:56:06

the past. And I wouldn't say anything

1:56:08

except that it was mentioned publicly. Gosh,

1:56:11

like a month or two ago, they did

1:56:13

come out and say, you know, we're looking

1:56:15

at. have legs. My have legs. It's

1:56:17

something that they started working on at least

1:56:19

last summer fall, at least it's been in

1:56:21

the works for a while. But I mean,

1:56:23

it's they keep adding to the list. It's

1:56:26

a big one. I will tell you right

1:56:28

now, one of the biggest things that gets

1:56:30

in the way of my building These days

1:56:32

is the fact that I have bought everything

1:56:34

almost that comes out related to camps in

1:56:36

the atom shop And now the list is

1:56:38

too long and you can't find things and

1:56:40

it gets frustrating sometimes when you're looking for

1:56:42

what you want to place Absolutely It's hard

1:56:45

bookmark your favorites or something. I don't know

1:56:47

Mm -hmm, but I mean, I know people

1:56:49

want to be organized. I know they want

1:56:51

it to be reorganized I know that it's

1:56:53

kind of a Herculean task and not the

1:56:55

number one priority, but it is something they're

1:56:57

working on and hopefully this summer. That has

1:56:59

been the goal for a while. So

1:57:02

yeah, Strata Blaster says, build many with the

1:57:04

bane of my existence. By the way,

1:57:06

Strata Blaster got a camp and top five camps

1:57:08

again this week. He's on a roll. Oh, dude,

1:57:10

congrats. Such a builder. Awesome. But

1:57:12

yeah, so fingers crossed that actually happens.

1:57:15

Maybe you're on the fishing update. Who

1:57:17

knows? There's no better

1:57:19

time than now and spring cleaning,

1:57:21

right? Come on. All

1:57:23

right, so they're going to announce Fallout

1:57:26

4 on Switch 2 as well. Is

1:57:28

that right? You know,

1:57:30

that could, I mean, Switch

1:57:32

2 coming out. Maybe we're going to get it. It's

1:57:34

Fallout 3 on Switch. Oh, I

1:57:36

didn't, I didn't even mention, but I

1:57:38

mean, y 'all know, I don't want

1:57:41

to tease anything, but there has

1:57:43

been more of the leakers talking about

1:57:45

the Oblivion Remakester have came out

1:57:47

and said, Nathan Hates specifically. that he

1:57:49

does know they are still working

1:57:51

on the Fallout 3 remake as well.

1:57:54

But I think that's probably contingent on how Oblivion

1:57:56

does. And let's not put the cart before

1:57:58

the horse in Skyrim or whatever. But there are

1:58:00

people saying it really is a thing. And

1:58:02

if it is a thing, maybe it'll come

1:58:04

to Switch. So you might finally... Oh, wait, you

1:58:06

want Fallout 4 on Switch? Yeah, not happening. I

1:58:09

wouldn't mind like a Fallout

1:58:11

3 total like remake, revamp

1:58:14

on the Fallout 4 engine.

1:58:16

You know, I'd appreciate that.

1:58:18

If it happens, it would probably be on

1:58:20

Unreal again, even more advanced. So we will

1:58:22

see what happens. We will see. That's

1:58:25

one thing at a time.

1:58:27

But yeah, that came up again

1:58:29

at a specific switch, ask

1:58:32

me anything situation with a couple

1:58:34

of insiders. Boom. Awesome. All

1:58:37

right, you guys. Since

1:58:39
