That's the Aruba Effect. Plan your family

0:28

0:32

now, a Blaze Media Podcast. Four

0:35

out of ten Americans believe we are living

0:37

in the end times. Is

0:40

their belief justified? I'm one

0:42

of those four. Is

0:44

there something extra unique about our

0:46

time that warrants the extra attention

0:48

being paid to ancient prophecies? My

0:52

next guest describes the days that

0:54

we live in as the fourth

0:56

quarter. If he's

0:58

right, how do we prepare? What

1:01

happens next? To

1:04

answer these questions, I brought in

1:07

one of my dear friends, the kindest, gentlest

1:09

man I could find to guide us

1:11

through the end of the world with

1:13

love, truth, and maybe even something

1:15

to look forward to. Welcome

1:18

best-selling author and pastor, Max

1:21

Licato. Max,

1:30

as always, good to have

1:35

you. Thank

1:39

you so much for being on the podcast today. Glenn,

1:42

it's a great honor and I hold you

1:44

in such high regard. Thanks for letting me

1:46

be a part of this special

1:49

conversation. Yeah. Now,

1:52

you are known as being

1:55

a very positive guy, very

1:57

happy. I don't think you...

2:00

have really, really

2:03

talked in depth about end of days. And

2:06

you just wrote a book on

2:09

what's next. And it, it's

2:11

all about end of days. Why

2:14

now? You're

2:17

right. I have never tackled

2:19

this topic, but

2:21

I have in the last

2:23

two or three years for two big reasons.

2:26

Number one, I'm getting old. And so I

2:28

know that there's a lot more sand in

2:30

the bottom of my hourglass than on the

2:32

top. And, and Glenn, I'm

2:34

just genuinely curious about what's about to happen.

2:36

I'm about to turn 70. I'm

2:39

in good health, Lord willing. I have a lot

2:41

of years left, but I know the clock is

2:43

ticking. And I just, I just

2:45

want to know. I just want to

2:47

know. And I'm so excited about what

2:49

I'm discovering. And then number

2:51

two, not only am I curious about

2:53

the future, I'm really concerned about the

2:55

present. These are really

2:58

severe times in which we find

3:00

ourselves. We've got conflicts, almost

3:03

too many to count, but major

3:05

conflicts involving Israel. And

3:07

that's really a key

3:09

point for those of us who interpret

3:13

the present through the scripture. But

3:15

then also we've got massive, a

3:17

pandemic of anxiety and concern and

3:20

just a sense of the vision

3:23

and unsettledness. And

3:25

I know we've seen that all through history. And

3:27

I know that people will quickly say, that's just

3:29

been a part of time. And

3:31

yet I hope we'll have the opportunity

3:33

to discuss that there are certain things

3:36

about this particular era in history that

3:38

cause a person to perk up and

3:40

look up and have

3:42

hope, but I'm still optimistic.

3:44

I'm still highly optimistic. Right.

3:47

So I think Max, you and

3:49

I are coming from the same time, by the

3:51

way, read your book. It's really fabulous. I

3:55

think we come from exactly the

3:57

same place, which is... I

4:01

hope this isn't the time.

4:04

I don't want to go through what we have to go

4:06

through. And I don't want

4:08

my kids to go through it, but

4:12

it actually kind of gives me

4:14

some hope because there's more certainty.

4:17

You know what I mean? There's a

4:19

clock, there's more certainty. And

4:22

in the end, maybe we get

4:24

to see Christ here, not

4:26

just up there. Absolutely.

4:29

In the book, I unpack what I

4:32

call heaven's timeline. And I do

4:34

not like the idea of living out with

4:36

the worldview that says there is no timeline.

4:39

There's nobody in charge, no

4:41

sovereign hand directing the flow of history.

4:44

And while we cannot know every detail

4:46

about the future, and while scripture is

4:48

very careful to instruct us that nobody

4:50

knows the day that Christ will come,

4:53

we are given specific seasons

4:55

and signs. We pay attention

4:58

to those seasons. We

5:00

pay attention to those signs. And

5:03

I, like you, when I find

5:05

assurance in the fact

5:07

that we have a heavenly Father who

5:09

has promised to guide us

5:11

through the timeline of history, and

5:14

also promised to establish an age

5:16

in which everything will be set

5:19

right. Everything will be set

5:21

right. I do think we

5:23

have to be careful. Some people claim like

5:25

they know even more than Christ does. But

5:28

we can know what we can know and find

5:30

hope in that. Yeah, it

5:32

always puzzles me. I

5:35

know nobody's gonna know the date and the time.

5:37

However, maybe

5:40

the generation that goes through

5:42

it might

5:44

know the general area on when

5:46

it's coming, because why would he

5:49

give us so many

5:51

signs to look for? You

5:54

may not know the date, but you're

5:56

gonna know the general movement, are you

5:59

not? Absolutely.

6:01

And it seems to me that

6:03

the most profound prophecy in

6:06

all of the Bible, except for the

6:08

one that Jesus would, he

6:10

himself, be raised from the dead, is

6:13

that promise that God would regather

6:15

the children of Israel to their

6:17

homeland. And that happened in May

6:22

1948. And so I find myself

6:24

agreeing with those scholars who say,

6:26

you know, a page of prophetic

6:28

history turned in May of 1948, because

6:32

several of the prophecies have

6:35

to, Israel

6:37

has to be returned to its

6:39

homeland in order for those prophecies

6:41

to be fulfilled. And there are

6:43

multiple prophecies in the Old Testament

6:46

that say that God will regather

6:48

his people to their homeland. Now,

6:50

I can imagine for nearly 2000 years,

6:53

serious students of the Bible would read

6:55

those prophecies and say, well, that could

6:58

never happen. But then it

7:00

did happen. It did happen. And so

7:02

now that that has happened, that

7:04

to me signals that we're in

7:07

a unique season, an era

7:10

that should cause us to keep our

7:12

eyes up, our Bibles open, our hearts

7:14

open, and our hope going.

7:17

It's going to get crazy before the end, but

7:20

we're getting close to the end. So

7:24

what are the signs that you, you

7:27

say we should be looking for or the ones

7:29

that you say, I think this

7:33

one, this one and this one are happening right

7:36

now? Yeah,

7:38

well, the one we just mentioned

7:40

is absolutely essential. It's often called

7:42

the super sign. And that is

7:44

the regathering of the children of

7:46

Israel to the land of

7:49

Israel. It's the only nation that

7:51

has ever been banished from its homeland for

7:53

nearly 2000 years and then restored or

7:58

regathered to its homeland. land.

8:00

And this prophecy is found multiple

8:03

times in the Bible. Specifically,

8:06

I'm looking here in

8:08

my notes from Ezekiel, 650 years

8:12

before Christ, God said to

8:14

the Israelites, I will take you from the

8:16

nations and I will gather you from all

8:19

the lands and I will bring you into

8:21

your own land. And then here's a

8:23

prophecy. 740 years before Christ, he will raise up a

8:28

banner for the nations and

8:30

gather the exiles of Israel.

8:33

He will assemble the

8:35

scattered people of Judah from the

8:37

four quarters of the earth. That's

8:39

through Isaiah. May 14, 1948

8:43

saw that page turn

8:45

in the calendar of prophetic

8:48

history and circumstances changed.

8:51

It's still happening. People are

8:53

still the gathering of Israel is

8:56

still happening at a greater pace than

8:58

any other time. More

9:00

than ever, you're absolutely right. And

9:02

in fact, I read from the Jerusalem

9:04

Post has been about several months, a

9:07

quote that said that more people

9:09

are returning to Israel

9:11

now than in the history of

9:14

Israel. And then you overlay

9:16

that with prophecies from the Old Testament

9:18

that in the end days, Israel, now

9:21

a regathered nation would

9:23

be surrounded encircled by its

9:26

enemies. And that's a

9:28

part of the news every day how

9:30

Israel is increasingly encircled by

9:33

enemies. In fact, I

9:35

think it was the head of Hezbollah or

9:37

Hamas that said, our encirclement

9:40

of Israel is almost complete in

9:42

the last few weeks. That

9:45

was their exact language. My goodness.

9:48

I didn't see that but it's enough

9:50

to cause us to really pay attention.

9:53

Right. So

9:57

the gathering happens

10:01

We know that wars and rumors of war

10:03

and boy oh boy are we on the

10:05

we're in the rumor of war right now but could

10:08

we not see a. A

10:12

war of biblical proportions

10:14

biblical proportions it

10:16

could happen in a heartbeat and i

10:19

don't know what else we would need

10:21

to convince us all we're

10:23

waiting on is somebody to press the

10:25

wrong red button on the wrong side

10:27

right order. And i

10:29

think they're going to go sideways really

10:32

really quickly and that's why i

10:34

think it's so important for us

10:36

to be looking at this not

10:38

just from a geopolitical viewpoint but

10:40

a spiritual point is the bottle

10:42

gives us this timeline. To

10:44

help us understand how to interpret these

10:47

difficult times in which we find ourselves.

10:50

So you you

10:52

start with the biblical

10:54

covenants so why don't we

10:57

go over there because you do a great job of

10:59

covering all the covenants and why they matter can

11:01

you share the basic rundown. I

11:04

can thank you again plan because

11:06

most many people we have

11:08

interviews and they have no clue what a covenant

11:10

is I think those. Are

11:13

so essential probably early

11:15

because God governs history

11:17

through covenants he

11:19

governs history through covenants and

11:21

he made a covenant with Adam and Eve Adam

11:24

and he did not keep that covenant but that

11:26

does not mean God has broken it. The

11:29

fancy term for this is the

11:31

eidenic covenant or the garden of

11:33

Eden covenant in which God promised

11:35

that Adam and Eve and all

11:37

their children would reign and rule

11:40

with him in a perfect paradise

11:42

in perfected bodies in perfect relationships with

11:45

each other and with him. And

11:48

so that's a promise God has made now the

11:50

fact that Adam and Eve did not keep it

11:52

does not mean God has abandoned it that's

11:55

why the right of Genesis is really

11:57

the most prophetic book in the Bible

11:59

it gives us a picture. of our

12:01

end. God knows the end from the

12:03

beginning. So if you want to know

12:05

the end, go to the beginning. That's

12:07

promise covenant number one. Covenant number two

12:09

is given to Abram. Later his name

12:11

changed to Abraham and it's

12:13

a covenant that includes seed and

12:16

soil. He would bless the seed of

12:19

Abraham and boy did he ever thanks

12:21

to the seed of Abraham. We have

12:23

the Bible, we have Jesus,

12:25

we have the church, we

12:27

have faith and so he blessed

12:29

the seed and he'll continue to do so.

12:32

And then soil, that's what we're

12:34

talking about now. He gave a

12:37

chunk of land. It's the only

12:39

country to whom God has ever

12:41

given land. He gave soil to

12:43

Israel and then there's a

12:46

promise God made to David. Wait,

12:48

wait, wait. Hold on

12:50

just a second. Before we leave Abraham,

12:53

that one is unique. Because

12:55

that is unilateral. That's

12:58

God getting up and going, you know, this Abram

13:01

guy, I really like him. I'm going

13:03

to do this. So there's no performance

13:06

on that because usually you've

13:09

got to hold up your side with God.

13:11

Boy are you nailing

13:13

it, Glenn. Absolutely. In fact, the

13:15

story of God

13:17

confirming this ratifying this

13:19

covenant by this peculiar

13:21

practice that existed back in the

13:23

day of slicing an animal in

13:25

half and walking between that animal.

13:28

That was the way of saying,

13:30

I will keep this promise and

13:32

if I don't, may what has

13:34

happened to this animal happen to

13:36

me. Now, Abram did not walk

13:38

through the animal. Only

13:40

God did. The flaming

13:42

torch in the smoking pot. It's

13:44

a beautiful story. And so God

13:46

has made a unilateral covenant with

13:49

Israel that he will keep this. I may not

13:51

get it. I may not like

13:53

it, but it's there.

13:56

And I believe in the end of the end

13:58

days and what we call the tribulation,

14:01

that Israel will have a specific role.

14:03

They'll be their finest hour, but God

14:06

will keep that covenant. Okay,

14:08

so now the David covenant.

14:11

The Davidic covenant God made to David,

14:13

and that is a descendant of his,

14:16

would sit on David's

14:18

throne in Jerusalem and

14:20

reign over Israel. And

14:23

the angel Gabriel referred to

14:25

this covenant when he told

14:28

Mary that she would give

14:30

birth to the Messiah. So

14:32

we know exactly that this

14:34

covenant will be fulfilled at

14:37

some point through Jesus. He

14:39

will sit in Jerusalem, I believe, a

14:41

physical Jerusalem, and reign over the earth.

14:44

I believe that'll be fulfilled, and what

14:46

we see on the timeline is that

14:48

that reign of Christ.

14:51

And then there's lastly a covenant

14:54

with the children of Israel made

14:56

two times, one through Jeremiah, one

14:58

through Ezekiel, that the children of

15:01

Israel, the Jews themselves, would experience

15:03

a spiritual revival, a revival

15:06

in which would be so great they wouldn't

15:08

even have to say to one another, hey,

15:10

you need to know the Lord, for all

15:12

shall know me, God says. And so that's

15:14

in the bank as well.

15:17

All of these, as you pointed

15:19

out, are unilateral covenants that God

15:21

has made, and he is guiding

15:23

history according to these covenants. So

15:25

is the last one, do you

15:27

think, fulfilled? No,

15:30

sir, I don't think so, but I think

15:32

it will be. Forever

15:34

as a believer, as a Christian, I would

15:36

read that covenant and say, oh, God fulfilled

15:38

that in me. But then

15:40

as a closer reading of those

15:42

covenants, God is speaking to

15:45

the Jewish people. And so there is a

15:47

Jewish revival. I believe it

15:49

will be a return to Christ

15:51

in the last of the last days

15:54

during the time of the tribulation. Okay,

15:58

so people who don't know tribulation,

16:00

don't know about the rapture, et cetera,

16:02

et cetera. Let's get there. But tell

16:05

me what we are to look for

16:08

as signs before we get

16:10

there. Yeah. Before

16:13

we get there. And by the way,

16:15

many people don't understand this language that

16:17

we're using today, and that's why I

16:20

wrote this book. I'm hoping it's an

16:22

end times one oh one. If somebody

16:24

wants just an overview of

16:27

these important seasons, this might be

16:29

a go to book for you.

16:31

The signs that will come now

16:33

that the super sign has happened

16:37

in the end times after the super

16:40

sign or after the Israel is restored

16:42

to its land, there will be according

16:44

to Jesus, deception.

16:47

There will be economic turmoil. There

16:50

will be seismic activity.

16:53

There will be persecution of Christians.

16:55

More Christians right now are being

16:57

martyred or persecuted for their faith.

16:59

At any time, there will

17:02

be complete political conflict.

17:04

There will be famines,

17:07

pestilences, pandemics, ethnic

17:09

conflicts, false prophets, fearful signs,

17:11

wars and rumors of wars.

17:13

Now that's a collection of

17:16

the teachings of Jesus in

17:19

what's called the Olivet discourse or the

17:21

sermon he gave right before his crucifixion.

17:23

Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21.

17:27

When you're that's all those signs,

17:29

it sounds like the daily news.

17:32

Yeah, I was going to say it's also a

17:35

combination of everything I read in the paper today.

17:37

Yes, sir. But haven't

17:40

we had except for the super sign? Haven't

17:43

we had those same signs before?

17:45

I mean, I can't imagine fighting

17:47

the Nazis, not thinking that guy's

17:49

the Antichrist. Absolutely. And

17:51

I think that is a very,

17:53

very valid point. We have seen these

17:55

signs since Jesus first gave the

17:57

sermon. That's why to go back. to

18:00

the super sign makes us

18:02

say, okay, so we have truly

18:04

entered into a season

18:07

of turbulence. Now, Jesus did

18:09

say that in the end

18:11

times, all these signs are the

18:14

beginning of labor pains. I've

18:16

never had a labor pain, but I've watched

18:18

my wife. I've watched them. Labor

18:22

pains come with increasing intensity

18:26

and frequency. And so

18:28

according to this prophecy, beginning in May 1948,

18:32

we should see increasing frequency and

18:34

intensity of these signs as we

18:36

get closer and closer to the

18:38

end. I do not

18:40

know the day. I do not know

18:43

the hour, but I do think all

18:45

of these signs are increasing in intensity

18:47

and frequency. We've never seen Israel surrounded

18:50

and threatened in such a fashion like

18:52

this as a nation. It's unlike anything we've

18:55

ever seen. And I know

18:57

people will want to dismiss it, but I'm thinking

18:59

we've got to be very careful and pay close

19:01

attention to what's happening. Yeah.

19:04

We've also, we

19:06

haven't seen this kind of evil. You

19:10

know, when the

19:12

darkness is so strong, when the shadows

19:14

are so strong, it's only because the

19:17

light is getting brighter. And

19:22

it's very, very dark, what's going on

19:24

in humanity. And it's really

19:28

old pagan rituals from the Bible,

19:31

the sacrifice of our children. I mean, it's

19:33

bad. It's bad.

19:35

And the questions we're wrestling with,

19:37

Glenn, I mean, our children are

19:40

wrestling with gender issues that I

19:42

never, never even crossed my mind.

19:44

The question of what bathroom, what

19:47

pronoun to use. These are

19:49

things that were unthinkable

19:51

just a couple of decades ago. And

19:54

it's almost like the speed

19:56

of immorality is

19:58

increasing. And the The concept points

20:01

of this is devastating. Did

20:03

you know that 22% of teenagers in 2021 literally

20:10

considered orchestrating their own departures,

20:13

committing suicide, 22%. If

20:16

you see 10 teenagers, that means two out of 10

20:19

gave serious thought to just

20:22

cashing out. These are

20:24

tragic times in which we live. And

20:26

I cannot help but think that a

20:28

large reason is that people don't know

20:31

what's about to happen. They

20:33

feel like all of life is what's on

20:35

a YouTube or what's on their social media

20:37

page, as opposed to the

20:39

great and exciting future that God has

20:41

in store for everybody who would call

20:44

out to Him. I

20:49

think Satan has been trying to win for a very long

20:51

time and every time he thinks he's gonna

20:53

win, he's thwarted it, but it always

20:56

starts with the killing of

20:58

the Jews. We

21:02

look at the things, and we think

21:04

this is so unique with this transgender

21:06

stuff. It was happening

21:08

in ancient times, but it also

21:12

is the reason why people in Germany

21:14

started burning books. And this

21:16

is a real important point, especially for

21:19

Christians, and I would love your comment

21:21

on it. Back

21:23

in 1925, the first transgender

21:25

surgery happened in the Weimar

21:27

Republic in Berlin, and

21:30

they started a sexology university,

21:34

and it was all about transgenderism. It

21:36

was about gay,

21:38

lesbian, all of this stuff. And

21:42

the Weimar Republic was very hedonistic, and

21:44

it started to embrace some of this

21:47

stuff, and it was being taught

21:49

in the schools. The

21:51

Christians were so concerned and didn't know

21:53

what to do, so

21:55

they reached out to some of

21:58

the Nazis. as

22:00

they were just starting to form, they

22:02

knew they would get the

22:05

books burned. And so

22:07

they encouraged them to go into

22:09

the university to burn,

22:11

to stop this from being taught to

22:14

their children. What they didn't know is

22:16

they gave them an opening. And

22:19

I'm so concerned about,

22:22

we don't know history, we don't know what time

22:24

we're living in. And I'm

22:26

very concerned that Christians

22:30

may not follow Christ

22:34

in these times. They

22:37

will want to swing back. They

22:39

will want to fight. And

22:41

I'm not sure the Lord, if

22:43

these are indeed the times, we

22:46

only elongate because it's innocent

22:48

blood that has to be

22:51

shed. Correct? Yes,

22:53

sir. Does that make sense to you? Yeah,

22:56

no, that makes perfect sense. And I

22:58

think the way you're describing it is

23:00

absolutely accurate. The transgender question

23:02

is one that goes right at the

23:06

core of whether we trust a

23:08

good God in the way that

23:10

He made us. Did

23:12

God know what He was doing when

23:14

He gave us the gender that

23:17

He gave us? And if I

23:19

had my heart and my core say,

23:21

well, no, He didn't, then

23:23

everything's up for grabs. But

23:25

if I say, you know, I believe in a good God

23:28

and the narrative, the worldview I have

23:30

of life says that in

23:32

the beginning, God created the heavens and the

23:35

earth, and He made them male and female,

23:37

that I'm going to trust Him. I'm

23:39

going to trust Him. And I'm going

23:41

to acknowledge that what He did was

23:43

right. So we're getting right at the core

23:45

of whether we believe that

23:48

there is a good God, a sovereign

23:50

God, or not. And

23:52

the consequence is the narrative that

23:55

we have about ourselves. The

23:57

narrative is what we say to ourselves, and

24:00

the way we see ourselves.

24:02

And if we see ourselves

24:04

as mistakes or accidents or

24:06

just a surprising appearance of flotsam

24:08

in the universe, no purpose,

24:11

no plan, well, then we're going

24:13

to have a narrative that's

24:16

so negative about ourselves that no

24:18

wonder anxiety is off the

24:21

charts. But if I can have

24:23

the narrative embrace the biblical worldview narrative

24:25

that says there is a good God,

24:28

the world is in trouble, but he's

24:30

still in control and he's going to

24:32

set everything right. And that he

24:34

loves me, he knows me, he's coming for me. Well,

24:37

that's a game changer. That turns the light off,

24:39

right? And the way I live and the way

24:41

I treat other people. More

25:46

Can you talk about the prophecy

25:48

of Daniel? It

25:50

talks about 490 years. Can

25:55

you break that down and explain

25:57

why God stopped the clock at

25:59

four o'clock? That is a great question.

26:05

I'm going to make sure that

26:08

I have my manuscript open

26:10

here because the book of Daniel

26:13

is the backbone of

26:15

Bible prophecy. Understanding

26:18

what God said through

26:20

the angel Gabriel to

26:22

Daniel as recorded in

26:24

Daniel chapter 9

26:27

is really important. He gives three

26:29

promises. First of all, that a Messiah

26:31

is on the way. That's

26:33

in Daniel chapter 9 and verse 25. He

26:37

alludes to a period of time, an

26:39

appointed leader who will come at the

26:42

end of a total of 483 years.

26:47

These 483 years begin

26:49

with the construction of

26:51

Jerusalem during the days

26:53

of Nehemiah. So you

26:55

flip your calendar, 483

26:58

years from the

27:00

beginning of the construction of the

27:02

temple in the days of Nehemiah.

27:04

And you landed the very day

27:06

that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on

27:08

the back of a donkey. It's

27:10

one of the most compelling prophecies

27:12

in all of the Bible. But

27:15

seven years remain because Gabriel

27:18

told Daniel that

27:20

he's going to at the end of 483 years,

27:25

I'm sorry, at the end of a total of 483

27:27

years that there will be an antichrist or

27:34

an evil person. A tough time

27:36

is coming according to Daniel chapter

27:38

9 and verse 27. This

27:41

is an important prophecy because

27:43

it alludes for the very

27:46

first time to a period

27:48

of seven years as well

27:50

as an antichrist or an

27:52

evil person. The events

27:54

that have happened described in verse

27:56

29 have not happened. Glenn,

38:00

even during that time of tribulation,

38:02

hearing during this darkest time on

38:04

earth, the book of Revelation

38:07

has the most interesting teaching, and

38:09

that is 144,000 Jews who are sealed

38:15

by Christ. They are sealed

38:17

by Christ. This I find

38:19

so fascinating. So there will

38:21

be, during the time of tribulation, 12,000 Jews

38:24

from each of the 12 tribes of Israel,

38:27

and they will declare their allegiance

38:30

to Christ. And this will

38:32

be yet further fulfillment of God's

38:34

promise to Abraham that he would

38:36

bless both the seed and the

38:38

soil. And these 144,000 Jews, according to Revelation

38:42

7, will evangelize. They

38:45

will go out, and the result

38:47

will be the greatest revival ever.

38:51

There will be people from every tongue,

38:53

every tribe, every nation, and they

38:55

will, at great personal risk because

38:58

of the threat of the antichrist. They

39:01

will become followers of Christ. Many

39:03

will be martyred for their faith,

39:05

but many will survive. So

39:07

even during those dark, dark times, there

39:09

will be times of great

39:11

hope and renewal. And I believe

39:14

that's the promise of that prophecy

39:16

God made through Ezekiel and Jeremiah,

39:18

that in the end of the

39:21

end days, there will be a

39:23

spiritual revival among the Jews. Max,

39:27

I want to

39:29

make it really clear. I'm not saying this is the

39:32

mark of the beast, but what I'm

39:34

about to say is at least

39:38

a candidate. I believe

39:40

the technology that the beast will

39:42

use, and that is a

39:45

cryptocurrency of some sort where

39:48

you embed the chip either in

39:50

your hand or on your forehead,

39:53

which is already happening now in

39:55

some areas. When

39:58

do you know it's the mark of the beast? with

42:00

a punch card system that knew

42:02

exactly where the Jews lived and they could

42:04

round them up in one night. With

42:07

AI, it is, it's way

42:10

beyond, way beyond that.

42:13

They can now really without

42:15

us even knowing, change

42:19

what we think is our free will.

42:23

They can convince you to

42:26

make decisions that you wouldn't have made

42:28

if it wasn't for the

42:31

manipulation of your world and your

42:33

information. Earlier in

42:36

the program, you and I discussed that

42:38

prophecy of Jesus that in the end

42:40

times, it will be like the beginning

42:42

of birth pains. Again,

42:44

signs coming with increasing

42:46

intensity and frequency. Who

42:48

could have imagined 100 years ago what a

42:51

Bitcoin was or what AI was 10 years

42:54

ago. Most of us were not even

42:56

conversant on these topics and some of

42:58

us still feel like we're catching up,

43:00

but it's all moving so quickly. Now

43:03

I need to be very, very careful though

43:05

Glenn. It's never my desire to stir fear.

43:09

In fact, I believe the Lord tells us

43:11

what's about to happen. Not so we'll be

43:13

scared, but just so we'll be prepared. Be

43:16

prepared. Jesus said during

43:18

times when you see these signs,

43:20

lift up your eyes before your

43:22

redemption is near. Your redemption

43:25

is near. So when we see signs,

43:27

we don't freak out. We say, oh,

43:29

he told us this would happen. And

43:31

somebody makes sure our heart is right

43:34

with God. We've given him our eternal

43:36

destiny and we do our best to

43:38

serve our fellow man. And we trust

43:40

that he will make everything happen in

43:42

the right time in the right way.

43:46

Yeah, I have

43:48

had a really hard time, Max, with

43:50

my job because I feel my

43:53

job is to warn and

43:55

being the guy

43:58

on the missionaries

46:00

gave me an assignment to deliver something to

46:02

the other side of the city of São

46:04

Paulo and he gave me a ticket

46:06

to get on a subway and Glen when I got

46:08

on the subway, I didn't know how to read the

46:10

signs. I didn't know

46:13

what to do. I knew just enough to

46:15

pay the token to get on the train

46:17

and then off we went. I grew up

46:19

in a small west Texas town. We had

46:21

no subways and I panicked

46:25

but I didn't speak the language

46:27

either and gratefully there was a

46:29

English-speaking Brazilian who saw the anxiety

46:32

on my face and

46:34

he pointed to that list of

46:36

that linear line that's at

46:38

the top of the subway car that points

46:40

out all the stations. You know what I'm

46:42

talking about, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, and he

46:44

said okay, and he's speaking to me in

46:46

English. She says now here's where you are

46:48

and here's what's about

46:50

to happen. Here's where we'll stop and he

46:52

pointed out one stop after

46:55

the other and he said when we reach this

46:57

one get off and all

46:59

of a sudden I could relax. Right.

47:01

And I think that's what in times

47:03

is all about. We're doing our best

47:06

to keep our eye on the

47:09

timeline or the linear line

47:11

that our Heavenly Father has

47:13

provided. None of us

47:15

have it all figured out, but this makes sense.

47:17

I think I'm gonna believe that what we all

47:19

know though is that God is in control and

47:22

it's up to us to be faithful between now and

47:25

then and he'll get us off at

47:27

the right time. Who

47:29

do you think the two witnesses are

47:31

that are described in in Revelation?

47:35

Yeah, that's a that's a good

47:37

one. I think

47:40

Enoch could be one of them. I

47:42

think Elijah could be one of them and

47:45

those people are this evangelistic

47:47

crusade. Tell people

47:49

what they do, why they're important.

47:52

Well, they're important because as they

47:55

give witness to God in

47:57

the city of Jerusalem during the time

47:59

of the tribulation, they are slain,

48:02

but then they come back to life and

48:05

they give testimony to the power of

48:07

God, even in the middle of these

48:09

dark, dark days. And so they

48:12

are a part of the ongoing

48:14

declaration of the gospel that

48:16

God gives in the time of the

48:19

tribulation to those who will listen. What

48:23

do you say, Max, to people who are

48:25

Jewish that say, so

48:29

I'm going to be left behind and I have

48:32

to convert to Christianity,

48:34

otherwise what? What

48:37

do you say? Well,

48:39

I would say you don't have to. You don't

48:41

have to. And God is ever

48:44

the gentleman. And

48:46

he knocks on the door of our hearts. He

48:48

didn't pound at the door

48:51

of our hearts. He invites us. And

48:53

I would also say that God bless you because

48:56

you are a part of the chosen lineage of people

48:59

that has played such an instrumental role.

49:01

You've been unfairly persecuted

49:03

and judged and indeed

49:05

massacred in ways that most

49:08

of us cannot imagine. And

49:10

I would also remind you that the most

49:12

famous Jew in the history of the world

49:14

is Jesus Christ. And

49:16

that when he died on the cross, he

49:18

died for all of our sins, every single

49:21

person in all of his sins. And

49:24

he authenticated his act

49:26

of sacrifice by stepping out of

49:28

the tomb and proving

49:31

that he indeed is the Son of

49:33

God. He's the Messiah. He's

49:35

the Messiah. I believe that with all

49:37

of my heart. And I

49:39

would hurt, hope, and I would pray that you'd say

49:41

yes to it. Just say yes to it. But

49:44

if you don't and you find yourself

49:46

here during that time of dark and

49:48

terrible struggle, then you just stay faithful.

49:51

He who endures to the end, Jesus

49:53

said, will be saved. Turn

49:56

your heart towards him now and

49:58

you won't pass through that timer. tribulation.

50:01

But if you choose not to and find

50:04

yourself in the time of tribulation, it's

50:06

not too late. Never too late. Turn

50:09

your heart toward him. Let him pay the

50:11

price for every sin that you've ever committed

50:13

and know that your name will be written

50:16

in the book of life. You know, Glenn, there's

50:18

one other final event that we've not mentioned yet.

50:20

I'll do so in 30 seconds. And

50:22

that is the great black judgment. At

50:25

the end of the millennium, which is that time

50:27

in which God will set everything right, there

50:30

will be a time of reckoning, a

50:32

time of reckoning. And the Bible

50:34

calls us the great white throne

50:36

judgment. This is not

50:38

a time in which believers will stand

50:40

before God to be judged. We

50:43

are judged not guilty because we

50:45

put our faith in Christ. But

50:47

everyone who has rejected God throughout

50:49

their lives will stand

50:52

before God because the rule is clear. If

50:54

you spend your life telling Jesus to leave

50:56

you alone, in the end, he will do

50:58

just that. And on that day,

51:01

two books will be open, a book

51:03

and a set of books will be open. The

51:05

book is the book of life. And the

51:07

book of life is where the name is written

51:09

of every person who is called out to Christ

51:12

for salvation. And the books,

51:14

the books are the deeds, the

51:16

works, the actions of every person. So

51:19

when God opens the book, if a

51:21

person's name is not found written in

51:24

the book of life, then the books

51:26

are open and all of their deeds

51:28

will be declared. And no one wants

51:30

to stand before a holy God expecting

51:32

to be saved according to their deeds.

51:34

I don't, I don't,

51:37

because my deeds are enough to convict

51:39

me. And that's why this message

51:41

is so urgent. When you say

51:43

yes to Christ, he writes your name

51:45

in that book of life, because the

51:48

great white throne judgment is that moment

51:50

in which those who have dismissed Christ

51:52

will be dismissed forever from the presence

51:54

of Christ. The

51:58

final moments with Mac, Lucato in

52:00

just a minute. First, let me tell you

52:02

about the Burna

52:04

launcher. The Burna launcher is, I

52:07

think, one of the best things for self-defense. You

52:10

know, self-defense can be handled with a gun, but,

52:12

and I believe in those, I carry a gun.

52:16

But there are times the Burna launcher is fine, because

52:19

you don't want to have to make that decision.

52:21

Do I kill them or do I hit them

52:23

with tear gas? You

52:25

can stop an attack.

52:29

You can stop somebody from doing something that

52:31

they're not supposed to be doing. With

52:34

a Burna launcher, it's 60 feet. Now,

52:39

deadly force is needed sometimes,

52:42

but not always. You

52:46

use deadly force, you better be right. Incapacitate

52:49

an attacker for up to 40 minutes

52:51

with a Burna launcher. Police departments

52:53

are starting to use it. You can check it on a

52:55

plane. It's legal in all states. As long as you're over

52:57

18, you don't need anything.

53:00

And you are protected. Made

53:17

me talk about another section in your book,

53:21

Why Our World

53:23

Is Upside Down.

53:26

I wonder, as

53:29

I watch what's happening in the

53:31

world, for instance, the Olympics, that

53:34

was a nightmare opening and closing

53:37

ceremony. And I

53:39

think there are those who knew

53:42

exactly what they were doing. And

53:44

I feel like we are experiencing people

53:48

doing ancient

53:52

rituals, even if they

53:54

don't know they're doing ancient rituals, you

53:56

know, the murder of

53:59

their child. sacrifice.

54:02

It is, it's,

54:05

it's, it seems

54:07

to be all around and we've gone from

54:09

a, a society

54:13

that chased God out of

54:15

our schools, out of, you know, our,

54:17

you know, our town square, chased

54:19

him out of our life to

54:21

a society that is actually, in

54:25

a way, bringing him back

54:27

to the town square so

54:30

we can mock and ridicule him

54:33

and God will not be mocked. Is

54:36

there a way to turn

54:39

this around? Let me ask you this way. I

54:44

could find 50 good men in America.

54:49

Is there a way to turn this

54:53

judgment that we deserve

54:55

around? We

54:59

can't, but God can. God

55:02

can. I'm

55:04

holding out hope that there'll be

55:06

a return, that there'll be a revival.

55:08

I agree with you.

55:11

There is such a mockery

55:13

of God in the public

55:15

square. People claim it

55:18

as a right and

55:20

inherent, inalienable right to

55:23

destroy pre-born and

55:25

really build the whole platform upon

55:28

that one idea. It's, it's

55:31

deeply, deeply concerning. I'm

55:33

holding out hope that there

55:36

will still be a great revival

55:38

that will call people back to

55:40

a sense of reverence for God

55:42

and respect for human life. I

55:45

do not have a secret

55:47

sauce to make that happen. And

55:49

if I did, I would produce

55:52

it a long time ago. What

55:54

does matter is that people of faith

55:56

do their very best to keep praying,

55:58

keep saying, keep praying. seeking. Let's avoid

56:01

cynicism. Let's don't get bitter. Let's

56:03

don't give up. Let's trust that

56:05

the God who has brought about

56:07

revival in the past. Remember, we

56:09

serve a God who rescued the

56:12

Israelites out of Egyptian bondage.

56:15

We serve a God who

56:17

destroyed the worshippers of

56:19

Baal during the times of Elijah.

56:21

We serve a God who became

56:23

a human being and walked on

56:25

the earth. We serve a God

56:27

who activated a movement on the

56:29

day of Pentecost. We serve

56:32

a great and powerful God of

56:34

intervention and action. Let's all

56:36

join our hearts, keep our hopes high, and

56:38

trust that He can do it again and

56:40

that He will do it again. I

56:45

never thought this before until

56:47

recently, but

56:51

we have taken all

56:54

of the blessings of our country. We've

56:57

turned them upside down. We

57:00

become greedy and we've really

57:02

sold our

57:04

souls for things

57:06

and stuff. Do

57:10

you think there's a chance, Max,

57:12

that we might be

57:14

the the great

57:17

horror of the

57:20

earth? Well, we're

57:22

certainly having a hard time behaving,

57:24

aren't we, in

57:26

accordance with the blessings that we

57:28

have been given. I mean,

57:31

there are generations upon generations

57:33

who would love to have

57:36

the blessings that we

57:39

have as a people. Access

57:41

to education, medical

57:43

care, opportunity to

57:46

study scripture without fear

57:48

of reproach or

57:50

martyrdom. There are many cultures

57:53

all around the world right now who

57:55

would cherish what I

57:57

think many of us just take for

58:00

for granted. This is

58:02

a time, however, in which we can become,

58:04

again, people of great gratitude and

58:06

people of deep faith and

58:08

keep looking up to our heavenly Father. I

58:11

suppose the best thing we can do is repent.

58:14

Just repent and say, Lord, we're sorry.

58:17

You've called your listeners, you've called

58:19

society to a time of repentance more

58:21

than once. And I

58:23

think that's this posture that we have to take.

58:26

And that is the promise of scripture.

58:28

If my people were called by

58:31

my name, humble themselves and pray and

58:33

repent of their sins, then

58:35

I will come back and I will heal their land.

58:42

In that thousand year

58:44

reign of Christ, Satan

58:46

is bound. He

58:49

has no influence for a thousand years.

58:54

What are we going to be doing? And

58:56

what will that be like? I

59:00

love talking about the millennium. And

59:02

again, what we're discussing when we say

59:05

the millennium is a promise in Revelation

59:07

20 of a thousand years in

59:09

which Satan will be bound and

59:12

Christ will be crowned. Satan

59:14

will be dismissed. He

59:16

will have no influence on the earth

59:18

and Christ will be crowned. And

59:21

we as his children will

59:23

reign and rule with him

59:26

for those thousand years. We were

59:28

made to reign and rule with

59:30

Christ. People often forget that in

59:32

the Garden of Eden, Adam and

59:35

Eve were set over creation to

59:37

tend and to care for it. That

59:40

they were not second or below

59:42

creation. That they were placed

59:44

over creation. We see Adam

59:47

exercising his rightful role as a

59:49

co-regent when he named the animals.

59:52

But Adam and Eve did not

59:54

continue in their part of the

59:56

covenant, but God never abandoned his.

1:00:00

reason I think we can be sure that

1:00:02

there will be a thousand years of peace

1:00:04

and prosperity in which you and I will

1:00:06

have a role which were

1:00:08

reigning and ruling with Christ during

1:00:10

that time. One of

1:00:13

the great parables of Christ

1:00:15

concludes with Jesus saying to

1:00:17

a good landowner or to

1:00:19

a good steward, well done,

1:00:21

good and faithful servant,

1:00:23

you've been faithful over a few

1:00:25

things, I will now make you

1:00:28

ruler over many. I'm

1:00:31

not sure exactly what you're gonna rule

1:00:33

over, Glenn, what I'm gonna rule over,

1:00:35

but I'm honored at the thought that

1:00:37

I will have a part in

1:00:39

this thousand-year period in which God

1:00:41

will have His garden just as

1:00:44

He promised way back as recorded

1:00:46

in the earliest chapters of the

1:00:48

Bible. I don't know

1:00:50

about ruling over, but I want to be the

1:00:52

taste tester for the bakeries in that thousand years.

1:00:56

What is when the thief

1:00:59

on the cross said,

1:01:03

surely you are innocent, will

1:01:06

you help me? And

1:01:10

Jesus said, today you will be with me in

1:01:16

paradise. What's the difference, if

1:01:19

there is, between paradise and heaven? Yes,

1:01:22

there is a difference. On

1:01:25

the timeline, as we lay it out, we've

1:01:28

already pointed out that the next major

1:01:30

event is the rapture. What happens if

1:01:33

a person dies before the rapture? What

1:01:35

if today I take my final breath?

1:01:37

What will happen to me? Well,

1:01:40

according to the passage you just referred to,

1:01:42

when Jesus said to the thief

1:01:44

on the cross, today you'll be

1:01:46

with me in paradise, we go

1:01:49

immediately into paradise. Now John

1:01:51

Wesley famously said that he said,

1:01:56

paradise is the front porch of

1:01:58

heaven. In other words, It's almost

1:02:00

heaven, but not quite. Paradise

1:02:03

is a place where we enjoy

1:02:06

conscious fellowship with the Father, conscious

1:02:08

fellowship with one another. And

1:02:11

yet we're still separated from our

1:02:13

physical bodies. At the

1:02:15

rapture, that's when our physical body

1:02:18

will be reunited with our

1:02:20

spirits. Our bodies will be glorified. They

1:02:22

will be healed once and forever. And

1:02:24

this, by the way, includes the healing

1:02:27

of all those babies who never exited

1:02:29

the womb. It includes the

1:02:31

healing of all those who do not

1:02:33

have the mental capacity to make a

1:02:35

decision for or against crimes. It includes

1:02:37

the healing of friends of yours and

1:02:39

mine who spent all of their life

1:02:42

in a wheelchair or unable

1:02:44

to operate in a 100% healthy body.

1:02:49

That healing is gonna happen. But

1:02:52

that healing will happen at the

1:02:54

rapture. In the meantime,

1:02:56

we go to paradise and our spirit

1:02:58

is in the presence of Christ. And

1:03:00

there we enjoy fellowship with God. We

1:03:03

enjoy fellowship with one another. And

1:03:06

to some degree, we comprise what

1:03:08

the Bible calls that great cloud

1:03:10

of witnesses. In other

1:03:12

words, there's a great cloud of

1:03:14

witnesses rooting us on, cheering us

1:03:16

on. I do not believe

1:03:18

that we pray to them, but I

1:03:20

do believe in some way that they

1:03:22

can see us and they're encouraging us.

1:03:25

And I find such great hope in this. In

1:03:28

the green room at the church

1:03:30

where I preach, we

1:03:33

have a painting and it's a

1:03:35

painting of a preacher, just a good

1:03:37

old fashioned preacher standing behind a pulpit,

1:03:39

holding an open Bible, wearing a coat

1:03:42

and tie. And he's surrounded by preachers

1:03:44

who have gone before. Elijah's there, Moses

1:03:46

is there, Paul is there, Peter is

1:03:49

there, and it's called the great cloud

1:03:51

of witnesses. And whenever

1:03:53

I'm about to preach, I always look at that

1:03:55

painting and I can just almost hear him saying,

1:03:57

give them heaven, Max, go get them. And

1:04:00

I take comfort in knowing that

1:04:02

our loved ones who have preceded

1:04:04

us in death are in that

1:04:07

great cloud of witnesses. Their emotions

1:04:09

are healed, their souls are healed,

1:04:11

their hearts are happy, and they're

1:04:13

just waiting until that moment in

1:04:15

which the new heaven and the

1:04:17

new earth will happen. We

1:04:19

will all enter that new Jerusalem in

1:04:22

our perfected bodies to reign with Christ

1:04:24

forever. Let

1:04:27

me ask you a kind

1:04:29

of an unrelated question, kind of. You

1:04:35

and I have known

1:04:38

one particular pastor for a very long time, and

1:04:41

I think

1:04:43

you were probably as surprised as I was when

1:04:47

we found out that some things

1:04:49

were happening, and now you're

1:04:51

the interim pastor there. How

1:04:54

do you deal with good

1:05:00

people doing really bad

1:05:03

things and then having

1:05:05

to... I

1:05:08

mean, what are you supposed to do with

1:05:10

that information, I guess? Yeah,

1:05:15

and I find instruction

1:05:18

as I open the Bible and read

1:05:20

the stories of King David

1:05:23

who did amazing work, led

1:05:27

Israel to a time of amazing

1:05:29

peace and prosperity, wrote many

1:05:31

of the Psalms that we cherish, and

1:05:33

yet one of those Psalms is Psalm 51, in

1:05:36

which he's begging the Lord for a

1:05:39

renewed spirit because he's confessed to that

1:05:41

horrible sin with Bathsheba. By

1:05:43

the way, a sin he kept covered

1:05:46

up for well over a year

1:05:48

until he was finally confronted. Stories

1:05:51

like David, stories like Peter

1:05:54

who denied Christ, stories like

1:05:56

Paul who persecuted the church.

1:06:00

I mean, scripture is, how

1:06:02

shall we say, littered with

1:06:05

the testimonies of men and women

1:06:08

who could have done better,

1:06:10

should have known better, but they didn't.

1:06:13

And yet God used them anyway.

1:06:15

Yeah. I'm disappointed when

1:06:17

that happens. It's heartbreaking. It's

1:06:20

really tough on the church, but

1:06:23

it's not new. It's not new. It's,

1:06:27

I feel kind of, it

1:06:31

bothered me early on in 2015 when

1:06:37

people would look to Trump

1:06:39

and say, he's

1:06:41

God's anointed or whatever. I

1:06:45

don't look at it that way. I look at

1:06:47

it as, Martin

1:06:49

Luther King was not

1:06:51

the first guy they asked to lead that movement.

1:06:56

He was just the first to say, yes, knowing

1:07:00

what could happen to him. And

1:07:02

I think that's the same kind of thing with Trump.

1:07:04

There's been a lot of people who

1:07:06

have stood up and said they would take

1:07:09

it. And I think the Lord could have

1:07:11

used a man that is much

1:07:13

closer to him, but maybe

1:07:15

they didn't stand up. And he

1:07:17

did. When

1:07:20

you, go ahead. No,

1:07:23

go ahead. I just can say in my devotional reading

1:07:25

this morning, I was in the book

1:07:28

of 2 Corinthians, and

1:07:30

the apostle Paul wrote, we have this

1:07:32

treasure in earthen vessels.

1:07:35

And I couldn't get beyond that. We

1:07:38

have a treasure. What is that treasure? Well,

1:07:40

the treasure is what we're talking about, that

1:07:43

this life is passing quickly, but

1:07:45

the greatest life awaits us all.

1:07:47

That's a treasure. It's the gospel.

1:07:50

But we have it in earthen vessels. Here

1:07:53

I am talking to you with

1:07:55

COVID. I've got a

1:07:57

raw throat. I've got a body.

1:08:00

that's getting old, I have an earthen

1:08:02

vessel. And so God's

1:08:04

message through that scripture to me is, even

1:08:08

though your earthen vessel is just

1:08:10

like a clay pot, I can

1:08:12

still get the message out. And

1:08:14

so the power lies not so

1:08:17

much in the earthen vessel, but

1:08:19

in the message itself. And I'm just

1:08:21

going to trust that he's going to

1:08:23

keep getting that message out through us

1:08:26

to have earthen vessels. When

1:08:29

you saw the assassination attempt of Donald

1:08:31

Trump, and you saw how close that bullet

1:08:33

came, and he turned his head, it gave a lot

1:08:36

of people a lot of hope that maybe God's

1:08:38

not done with us. Do

1:08:45

miracles like that happen, Max? I

1:08:48

think everything is under the

1:08:50

sovereign hand of God, and everything is

1:08:52

intended to get our attention. Now,

1:08:55

we need to be very careful and remember that

1:08:57

we exist to make a big deal out of

1:08:59

God. God

1:09:04

does not exist to make a big deal out of

1:09:06

us. And that his ultimate goal

1:09:08

is to establish a

1:09:11

kingdom with which he's going

1:09:14

to reign and rule forever, forever

1:09:16

with those who say yes to him. Now, he

1:09:18

may use the United States to accomplish that

1:09:20

goal. I believe he has to do that. I

1:09:24

believe he has. I believe

1:09:26

thanks to the United States, people like

1:09:28

me have the opportunity to hear the

1:09:30

greatest news in the history of the

1:09:32

world. But I do believe

1:09:35

that the United States is simply a tool

1:09:37

in his hand. That he doesn't

1:09:39

exist to make a big deal out

1:09:41

of our country. He exists to

1:09:43

make a big deal out of this

1:09:46

promise, this promise, that he wants every

1:09:48

man and woman, every child to say

1:09:50

yes to him, and

1:09:52

that these brief and momentary days

1:09:54

are passing quickly. And I

1:09:57

know our fascination right now is

1:09:59

on the election. Well, it should be

1:10:01

we should be prayerful and careful,

1:10:04

but we need to be even more concerned

1:10:06

about Serving God and

1:10:09

and and showing our ultimate allegiance

1:10:11

to him. I Just

1:10:14

love you so much max. It's always a

1:10:17

pleasure to talk to you Well,

1:10:19

I know I stuck my foot in my

1:10:21

mouth a few times. So forgive me in

1:10:23

advance or in retrospect what I did Yeah

1:10:29

God bless you max be together

1:10:31

in person maybe next time. Yeah. Yeah,

1:10:34

we will. Thank you so much Thank

1:10:36

you, my friend Just

1:10:43

a reminder I'd love you

1:10:45

to rate and subscribe to the podcast and pass this

1:10:47

on to a friend so it can be discovered by
