they were in one big ruined city called

portal, they went through the other side and

found themselves at the bottom of another shrine

and have been making their way out. And I

think, and the way we said it was that

like, The shrine that they entered on the other

side had not been opened by anybody on

the other side, which means they're kind of

the first ones through. They went through, they

went into a chamber, and I decided at

the kind of last minute to roll some

random encountery kind of stuff. I rolled

on the Tales of the Valiance Game

Master's guide and rolled a bone naga.

And I said, oh, that's perfect. Hey,

my mom is here. Hi mom. They

rolled up a bone naga. And I

said, you know, bone naga is actually

a perfect kind of monster that would

be guarding the other side of the

red portal. So the bone naga popped

up and a big skull with like

a serpentide body. And it was right

around. I think it's like CR8 or CR9, so

I was like, oh, it's going to be real,

if they fight, it's going to be really tough.

But they ended up not fighting it. They managed

to convince it, like, because the Bonaga was like,

how dare you, Dragon Empire people, the Bonaga person,

they. The Bonaga was there to protect the

red portal and was on the side of

2:42

the Nureans against the Dragon Empire. So as

long as the characters managed to convince the

2:46

Bonaga that they were actually also fighting the

2:48

Dragon Empire, the Bonaga was like, oh, okay,

what do you want? And so it ended

up working for them, saying, I will guard

this portal and make sure that only that

you and those you send through are able

to go through this portal, otherwise we'll kill

everybody else. I'll kill everyone else.

And the character's like, great,

they've set. So they're going

to head back to the 440

fingers. It doesn't sound like they're

going to spend a lot of

time in nerdering, which is fine. This

is like that tip for prep. You don't want

to over prep everything because, you know, you could

say like, oh, I have all these big plans

and big quests and all this stuff and nerdering,

and then it turns out they don't want to

go to nerdering. And you're like, oh, all this stuff I

prep. So I don't think we spent a ton of

time in the last session planning some of it.

And actually, there's a big pile of secrets. So

I have all of these like locations and

secrets and stuff like that and those

are still viable. It's just I don't I

now no longer need to fill them

out. I thought that the characters might spend

on a bunch of quests and do a
