My thoughts on Rio de Janiero:
The main streets of Centro (stress test) are Avenida Presidente Vargas and Avenida Rio Branco. Otherwise, buy near where you want to mint in the full release.
37k Non-FSA will mint out 90% in 2 days with Centro almost completely gone. If there is anything left, I will wait in Rio for Collection Reveal to snap up unminted collection properties.
The Samba Partnership will not come into full expression immediately, so I am waiting in Rio even after the free flights end (Wednesday) to see what special tours and events are happening in Rio.
The Starter City (Cidada de Deus) is one of my dark horse tips for a node in Rio, as it will be heavily Portuguese community who will build together.
Check in for other potential nodes after Collection release because Players typically don't build nodes in collection areas.

Rio Tips:
1/ If you miss the 48 hours of free flights, then NYC is the cheapest ticket back home.
2/ Mint "wiggly streets" in places like Santa Teresa and Botafogo.
3/ Once property boundaries are released, check which neighborhoods have the most labelled properties, as those will be potential collection areas.
4/ If you are minting in a neighborhood, go for the main or famous streets to have a double chance of a collection.
5/ Ask a Portuguese player if you want help with Rio.
