When you were growing up, did anybody ever

0:04

comment on your posture, good or

0:06

bad? Well, in Second Corinthians

0:09

chapter four, Paul speaks of a posture

0:11

of faith for the living from

0:13

Moody Bible Institute. This is today

0:15

in the word, and I'm John Geiger, doing

0:17

my best to straighten up here and share

0:19

today's devotional reading with you.

0:21

In Second Corinthians chapter four, Paul

0:23

speaks of a posture of faith for the living

0:26

and those who live for Christ. Look forward

0:29

to the life to come, but we don't have to wait

0:31

until then to experience it. The

0:33

apostle's life was marked by vulnerability

0:35

and weakness by which the life of Jesus

0:38

was revealed. Paul's faith

0:40

was grounded in the knowledge that the one

0:42

who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead

0:45

will also raise us with Jesus

0:48

and present us with you to himself.

0:50

His sufferings put God's grace

0:52

on display and caused others to

0:54

glorify God and give thanks for

0:57

his part. Paul was determined to

0:59

go through life facing forward

1:01

by maintaining a kind of double vision.

1:04

Although fully aware of his present and

1:06

often difficult circumstances, faith

1:09

enabled the apostle to see

1:11

the spiritual reality behind

1:13

his experience. Faith enabled

1:15

him to understand how our light

1:17

and momentary troubles are achieving

1:19

for us an eternal glory. Scripture

1:22

says that far outweighs them

1:24

all. Bottom line today

1:26

in the word we read in second Corinthians four, verse

1:28

18. We fix our eyes

1:30

not on what is seen, but

1:32

what is unseen. For what is seen

1:35

is temporary, but what is unseen

1:38

is eternal. Boy, that's a great

1:40

passage. I encourage you to memorize second

1:42

Corinthians four, verses 16 through 18.

1:45

It will come back to comfort you again and

1:47

again and again. Hey, our website

to see you there at today in the word.org.
