Dr. Marlene Wind is a Danish professor of Political science and law at the University of Copenhagen. She is educated at the EUI in Florence and works on the interplay between law and politics. She is also Special Advisor to the EU’s Foreign Policy chief Josep Borrell. She has published 8 books and many academic articles and has been an active part of the public debate for the past 25 years.

She is currently working on a new book on democracy where she asks the basic question of whether Europe can survive without counter-majoritarian courts to defend human rights as several writers in recent years increasingly claim.
