Thomas Higham is Professor of Scientific Archaeology at the Department of Evolutionary Anthropology, University of Vienna. He was, until August 2021, the Director of the Oxford Radiocarbon Accelerator Unit at the University of Oxford, where he was based for 20 years. He is best known for his work in dating the Neanderthal extinction and the arrival of modern humans in Europe.
