24:00
but really, really focused on solving problems for people.
24:02
So many transformations, we joke about this, is like
24:04
somewhere in the middle they forget somebody actually has
24:06
to give a damn about this thing. And so
24:08
the product of it at the end is often
24:10
terrible. No, I love that. And I guess as
24:13
we get closer to trying to get to 100%,
24:15
I know you said we can't actually get there. But
24:18
as we get closer, what do you think financial service
24:20
is going to look like in the future? Yeah, I
24:22
think it will move in the direction of that self
24:24
driving money piece. For me, that's
24:27
the reality, sadly, if I'm honest
24:29
with you, that we're just weird that we like
24:31
talking about this stuff. But
24:33
really, there's a framework we use called Jobs to
24:35
be Done, which is getting down to grips with,
24:38
OK, if you go do research, people will always
24:40
be like, yes. It's like, do you like the
24:42
blue one? Yeah, yeah, I like the blue one.
24:44
Give me my 20 pound Amazon vouchers and let
24:46
me go. But
24:48
the reality really is that most people don't
24:51
care about financial services. They care about what
24:53
it enables them to do. So
24:55
whether it's buy a house or whether
24:58
it's retire or whether it's save for
25:01
their loved ones or whatever that is,
25:03
actually, organizations that I think
25:06
get to that root purpose and tie
25:08
into what it is that people are trying to do,
25:11
help them do that in a simpler way,
25:14
they'll be the ones that have been successful. I'm
25:16
so sad that we have got to the final
25:18
question. I have loved this. And
25:21
it feels like it's been 10 minutes. I
25:23
feel like we've only just started talking and we've really got
25:25
to the end. Thank you so
25:27
much. But I just want to finally, for
25:30
the people at home, people listening, do
25:33
you have any advice, any tips that you can
25:35
give them that you recommend for them if they're
25:37
trying to do digital transformation programs? How
25:39
can they make it a success? Yeah, for sure. I
25:41
mean, whether it's digital transformation or whether it's your
25:44
career or anything. And actually, again, it goes back
25:46
to kind of the sports stuff for me. I
25:48
always say attitude and effort is everything. And
25:51
actually, the thing that I kind of
25:53
find with those things, whether you're starting a
25:55
business, whether you're getting up and going to
25:57
a corporate or whatever, those two things are
25:59
fundamentally. in your control, right? You can control
26:02
your attitude, how you respond to
26:04
the world, and you can control the level of
26:06
effort that you put into those things. So for
26:08
me, that view of well, how do you make
26:10
something successful? Fundamentally, it's just a habit. Do those
26:12
two things every day and good things seem to
26:15
happen. David, thank you so much.
26:17
I just want to say thank you for your
26:19
openness, thank you for your honesty, thank you for
26:21
being amazing. You actually make me proud to say
26:23
I work in financial services. We've come to the
26:26
end, sadly, but guys, make sure you listen back.
26:28
I love David because he's got the amount of
26:30
gems he's spitting. And it's all off the top
26:32
of his head. He hasn't, this is all fresh,
26:34
this is just top of the head. He's actually
26:37
amazing. So thank you so much. Everyone,
26:44
wasn't that amazing? I mean,
26:46
David is absolutely fantastic. And what he's
26:49
doing is amazing. I'll be honest with
26:51
you, when we started, I was thinking,
26:53
what is this digital transformation stuff? What
26:55
is it really? What are we really
26:57
talking about? But by the end, I'm
26:59
like, I need a job in this. I need to make sure
27:01
I've got this in my company. When
27:04
you really think about the importance of how
27:06
we are moving, how we are operating as
27:08
consumers, how we're moving into this digital age
27:11
and further into AI and so forth, digital
27:13
transformation is going to become more and more
27:16
important, especially in financial services. It's
27:18
so important to get it right. And actually, I
27:20
think all of us need to be thinking about
27:22
what points can we digitise stuff to make our
27:24
services better? What parts of our service require us?
27:27
And what parts can we use digital
27:29
apps, digital products and other
27:31
things to really service our customers to build
27:33
their trust to make the service that we
27:35
offer them better and also for us to
27:38
then become more efficient, which makes us more
27:40
profitable. This was a wonderful
27:42
conversation. Definitely listen back and big up
27:44
David again, because I'm inspired. See
27:47
you in the next one. You've been
