0:52

I kid. Pete would make that

0:54

joke. My name is David Bean.

0:56

I sit beside Pete Blackburn and

0:58

across the room is Sean DePaz.

1:00

Welcome to Canada, Pete. Hey, welcome

1:02

to Canada, David. Welcome back to

1:04

Canada, David. Welcome to Canada, David.

1:06

Welcome to Canada, Sean DePaz. Thank

1:09

you. I don't know who to

1:11

welcome to Canada now because... Is

1:13

this everyone's first time in Canada?

1:15

No. It is my first time

1:17

in Edmonton, Alberta. It's my first

1:19

time west of like St. Catherine's

1:21

Ontario. This is like my 30th

1:23

time in Canada probably. We picked

1:25

a hell of a time to

1:27

come to Edmonton because, uh, Connor,

1:29

out, Leon, maybe out, and Snowstorm.

1:32

It is snowing like the, like

1:34

the demon outside. I like

1:36

it. I wouldn't want my Edmonton

1:39

experience to be any other way. Yeah,

1:41

I like, when I came in June, people

1:43

were like, oh well, this isn't

1:45

really, you're skewed by, it's the

1:47

cup final and it's nice out,

1:49

come another time of year. Evanton

1:52

Grade A. I fucking love this

1:54

town. It's not windy or anything.

1:56

It's not like crazy cold. It's

1:58

just snowing like crazy. I had

2:00

a breakfast this morning and basically my

2:02

first Albert, Albertonian, Edmontonian interaction was me

2:04

eavesdropping on the guy next to me

2:07

at breakfast talking about how he killed

2:09

20 to 30 elk who were blocking

2:11

a road and then he caught all

2:13

their heads off. So shout out Western

2:15

Canada. And he saw you eaves dropping

2:18

and then he turned and he was

2:20

like, what are you going to do

2:22

about it? Your next session. No, it

2:24

sounded more like a municipal thing. more

2:26

than like a like a murderous rampage

2:29

taking care of a problem. Yes, it

2:31

was it was all above board. Yes,

2:33

it was authorized. He wants all the

2:35

folks on the show today. I would

2:37

love to do that. We're gonna talk

2:40

about John Tortorella because John Tortorella is

2:42

out he is out of the head

2:44

coach of the Philadelphia Flyers. He was

2:46

fired by himself. Because he had some

2:49

crazy ass comments earlier this week. We

2:51

talked about him yesterday. We'll talk about

2:53

the whole tort situation We're going to

2:55

be joined by Charlie O'Connor from pH

2:57

L-L-Y P. H-L-Y P-L-Y P-L-Y-H-L-Y-H-L-Y-Y-H-L-Y-Y-H-L-Y-Y-L-Y-S-I-I-E-L-Y-Y-S-I-S-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-S-I-S-I-I-S-I-I-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-S captivating everybody.

3:00

Basically, you got Ashton Hall and Jacob

3:02

Chikran just setting the tone for how

3:04

to live your life. And finally, Tank's

3:06

so good. We had the Tank Thon

3:08

this morning, Boston Bruins, getting Michael Misa

3:11

at the number one spot. Is Ashton

3:13

Hall the man with the Saratoga Springs

3:15

water? Yes. Okay, I was, I'm glad

3:17

you made that reference because I was

3:19

thinking the same thing. You got one

3:22

guy who is hammering water and another

3:24

guy who could probably tell you why

3:26

water is bad for you. Yeah, oh

3:28

man, I want to get Jacob checked

3:30

on the show for a million different

3:33

reasons now, but one of them being

3:35

like we would absolutely have to ask

3:37

him what he thinks about Ashton Hall.

3:39

Yeah, I think that he would be

3:42

like that. I can see how that's

3:44

all lit. It's not good. Yeah, it's

3:46

well lit video. I wouldn't support it.

3:48

Though when he says thank you to

3:50

the man off screen who's handing him

3:53

a towel, he could have been eating

3:55

protein instead. You know what's shocking is

3:57

we have not, I have not seen

3:59

a single meme about Jacob Chikrin with

4:01

the Donald Trump turn those lights off.

4:04

Oh, true. Yeah, all of our lovely

4:06

meemers, maybe you get on that. But

4:08

yeah, that little first note and the

4:10

brunt of the brunt of the brunt

4:12

of the show is going to the

4:15

show is going to be going to

4:17

be going to be going to be

4:19

going to be going to be going

4:21

to be going to be going to

4:23

be going to be going to be.

4:26

Tortarella because what he did was unbelievable

4:28

never really seen anything like it, but

4:30

we are in Edmonton. Can we get

4:32

a like a travel grade? Travel grade

4:35

A. We don't do A-plus is it

4:37

was an A. It was we were

4:39

a little bit worried. We flew on

4:41

a prop plane. It was not a

4:43

real plane. It was just a prop.

4:46

Not like Dunkirk. The ships were real.

4:48

We flew on a prop plane to

4:50

Ottawa, which we were a little bit

4:52

worried. We were a little bit worried.

4:54

We're a little bit worried. We're a

4:57

little bit worried. anxious flying boys we

4:59

were like oh do we want to

5:01

get on this tiny little fake-ass plane

5:03

with props to go to Ottawa it

5:05

was totally fine it was I was

5:08

getting on the plane though made it

5:10

way worse yeah because you're like pretty

5:12

low to the ground it was like

5:14

a low riding plane like it couldn't

5:17

stand up all the way on the

5:19

plane and you could see the landing

5:21

gear in the propellers outside of our

5:23

window see comfort grade a minus for

5:25

sure yeah like the plane didn't have

5:28

shock shock absororbersers no you could feel

5:30

the only bad thing and I'm kind

5:32

of spoiling it's spoiling it but That

5:34

flight was perfect. Yeah, it was really

5:36

good. Completely pleasant. But the only thing

5:39

was, and it just took a second

5:41

of getting used to, like, you could

5:43

kind of feel the plane. Yeah. You

5:45

could just like, it was just a

5:47

small little plane, like you could feel

5:50

it in your seat. It had, what

5:52

do they have at the movie theaters?

5:54

Like the butt kickers? Yeah, whatever they

5:56

called. They had. you could like you

5:58

could feel the throttle like when the

6:01

you could feel whatever the pilot was

6:03

doing up there in the cockpit you

6:05

you could feel it but that flight

6:07

was and then I thought okay well

6:10

then I didn't do clonipin for this

6:12

one I'll do clonipin for the second

6:14

flight because that's where they're gonna get

6:16

you that's the one that we would

6:18

think would be easy and smooth and

6:21

that one's gonna be treacherous I ended

6:23

up holding off my drug intake and

6:25

that flight and now we're attempting fade

6:27

on the flight. Yes, they know what

6:29

they're doing on a corner free drinks

6:32

free free free alcohol free alcohol and

6:34

porter lights a red wine on the

6:36

on the way from Ottawa to Edmonton

6:38

and a nice little moosehead logger was

6:40

beautiful nice Also layover grade a because

6:43

we got to well it was an

6:45

a minus but it was a high

6:47

grade a minus because I got accosted

6:49

at the airport for a reason that

6:52

I'm still unaware of But then but

6:54

then we saw like in Ottawa senators

6:56

senators airport stop and I bought this

6:58

cool ass hat buying doing a pro

7:00

shop wars buying team merch at your

7:03

45 minute layover could be the move

7:05

amazing I was I had a layover

7:07

in Miami one time and they had

7:09

a Miami heat team store so when

7:11

I saw the table of sense stuff

7:14

I was like please have a senator's

7:16

team store here they didn't but all

7:18

this man needs as a table with

7:20

a few shirts a few sweatshirts The

7:22

sweatshirts were very nice. The hats were

7:25

very nice. You did get kind of

7:27

fucked because you paid US prices. Yeah,

7:29

well, you kind of fucked me. I

7:31

said, oh man, this hat's like $48.

7:33

And you said, brother, that's Canadian. We're

7:36

in Canada. You'll be fine. I checked

7:38

out. It was like $74. And I

7:40

was like, OK. This was not Canadian

7:42

pricing. That's how they get you. But

7:45

you know what? You're going to make

7:47

it all back because today we taped.

7:49

Pro Shop or Edmonton. That's true. I

7:51

don't know if any of us are

7:53

right. We've been moving so fast. I

7:56

still have no idea what I'm going

7:58

to do in there. All I know

8:00

is I don't think they have carts,

8:02

but legitimately if they when he walked

8:04

in that they were like, would you

8:07

like a cart? I would say absolutely

8:09

give us a car. One of those

8:11

like palate things. Oh yeah. The people

8:13

of Edmonton have been very kind. It's

8:15

been a bunch of people in our

8:18

DEMs, like offering help and ride and

8:20

stuff like that, which just have merch

8:22

holders. Can you just get us a

8:24

shopping cart? No, just have someone just,

8:26

they can be the shopping cart. They

8:29

can, you just hand it to them.

8:31

They hold it to them. I've been

8:33

like dancing around what to call the

8:35

the second person in Ashton Hall's video.

8:38

I've referred to the woman as a

8:40

slave yesterday and I... It was the

8:42

way was it a woman? It's a

8:44

woman. Okay I was gonna say because

8:46

I would just call if it was

8:49

somebody that was assisting with something just

8:51

the boy. I mean is it problematic

8:53

to call the woman the boy?

8:55

She he treats her like the

8:57

boy. fluid and quite frankly construct.

8:59

I believe we have our guest

9:02

for our big conversation but we'll

9:04

start it off by just setting

9:06

it up before we get to

9:08

Charlie O'Connor. John Tortorello successfully fired

9:10

himself because we saw the clip

9:12

after the loss to the Leafs

9:14

in which he was like I'll

9:16

be honest this is not I'm

9:18

not comfortable or interested in doing

9:21

this and we discussed it yesterday

9:23

on the show. I liked the

9:25

honesty, we both agreed though, you

9:27

can't do that. Turns out you

9:29

can if you're cool with getting

9:31

fired. Which like, based off the

9:33

energy behind the quotes and the

9:35

energy of John Tortorella in general,

9:38

like, seemed like he might have

9:40

been cool getting fired from the

9:42

Philadelphia Flyers. Yeah, and the, what

9:44

it leads us to, and Charlie

9:46

will factor into this conversation, is

9:48

what's his move. And I think

9:50

that this time in his time

9:52

in his life. He's like, maybe

9:55

I don't need a move. I'm

9:57

not going to retire, but I

9:59

can... a beat for like I

10:01

am a household name I am

10:03

a celebrity I can have TV

10:05

gigs if I want to keep

10:07

coaching I could definitely coach in

10:09

some capacity here's what I know

10:12

I started off a seven I

10:14

had a what a seven game

10:16

home stand and that began a

10:18

stretch of 11 losses in 12

10:20

games something like that yeah this

10:22

ain't it chief so I'm gonna

10:24

do what I always do which

10:26

is wear my heart on my

10:29

sleeve I'm gonna try to be

10:31

respectful but Mista Mista! Get me

10:33

the ass out of here. Yeah,

10:35

and before we bring on Charlie,

10:37

like just the rundown of kind

10:39

of where the Flyers are right

10:41

now, they've lost six in a

10:43

row, they've lost 11 out of

10:46

their last 12, they have the

10:48

lowest points percentage in the Eastern

10:50

Conference, even lower than the Buffalo

10:52

Sabres, they have one more point

10:54

than Buffalo. Then Buffalo in the

10:56

standings, but with two more games

10:58

played. Torts has one year had

11:00

one more year remaining on his

11:03

contract around $4 million. bullet points

11:05

here of this situation. So do

11:07

you want to bring in our

11:09

friend Charlie? Let's bring on Charlie

11:11

O'Connor, one of the great voices

11:13

in hockey and certainly the preeminent

11:15

voice on all things Philadelphia Flyers.

11:17

Charlie from PHLY, how are you

11:20

my friend? You busy today? I'm

11:22

sorry I can't hear you guys.

11:24

Oh, hello? No. Can you just

11:26

listen? Are you not paying attention?

11:29

Just pay attention when we're talking open

11:31

those ears. Yeah clean them out. Yeah

11:33

skill issue All right, I think I

11:35

could hear you guys now. You got

11:38

us dear friend Chuck. Yeah, I got

11:40

you We sang your praises and we

11:42

reported this is going to be surprised

11:44

to you that John Torturella has been

11:46

fired. Did Pete said yesterday on the

11:48

show, he was like, I hadn't considered

11:51

the John Torturella getting fired angle at

11:53

all in Philadelphia. You're watching this team

11:55

every day. day and covering them as

11:57

they are sucking balls, so to speak.

11:59

So were you considering it before those

12:01

comments or did this all happen really

12:04

quickly? Well, I think it was a

12:06

very legitimate possibility they were going to

12:08

move on from him at the end

12:10

of the season. I was still probably

12:12

leaning towards them keeping him, I think

12:15

they may have been leaning towards keeping

12:17

him too. But it was definitely a

12:19

possibility. that they were going to evaluate

12:21

at the end of the season that

12:23

they needed a new person at the

12:25

top. The players were for quite a

12:28

while. Players did not love playing under

12:30

John's word. I know that that will

12:32

come as a shock to you. Massive

12:34

bombshell. But, but they were still playing

12:36

hard. As recently as last week, you

12:38

know, they lost three games last week,

12:41

but they played. Tampa Bay, Washington, and

12:43

Dallas really tough. They took Dallas to

12:45

overtime. They were playing solid hockey. They

12:47

just didn't have the horses to score

12:49

against really good teams. I do think

12:52

that the start of this week, they

12:54

lose seven four to the Blackhawks, the

12:56

second worst team in the league. They

12:58

lose seven two to the Toronto Maple

13:00

Leafs in the center of the hockey

13:02

world. And then the comments that John

13:05

Tour de Rella made. I was the

13:07

one who asked the question that got

13:09

toward a relative to go down that

13:11

rabbit hole. So it's your fault. It's

13:13

all my fault actually. You blew it

13:15

off. Peter Zadoro. There we go. I

13:18

in the moment didn't take them as

13:20

badly as I think social media did

13:22

because to me it played more that

13:24

Tortorell was trying to kind of fall

13:26

on the sword for his guys and

13:29

basically say, this is on me, I

13:31

need to do a better job. The

13:33

way coaches do a lot. and he

13:35

worded it very poorly. So I didn't

13:37

take it the way a lot of

13:39

people did, which was I'm not interested

13:42

in learning how to coach this team

13:44

and I'm not interested in learning how

13:46

to coach a bad team. What I

13:48

have to believe though is that in

13:50

the wake of those. comments, Tordorella had

13:53

lots of conversations internally with General Manager

13:55

Danny Breyer, with President Hockey Operations Keith

13:57

Jones, even with the the chairman of

13:59

the ownership group of Comcast Specter, Dan

14:01

Hillford, about this concept of, does he

14:03

really want to be coaching a team

14:06

that is going nowhere? I have to

14:08

believe that after those discussions, that either

14:10

John Tordorell came to the conclusion that

14:12

he really doesn't want to do this,

14:14

or the people above him came to

14:16

the conclusion that they don't want him

14:19

doing this anymore because even if he's

14:21

willing to try they just don't think

14:23

he's gonna be able to do it

14:25

yeah i mean that's kind of where

14:27

i'm at is like i want to

14:30

find out what's happened in the last

14:32

twenty four hours because if if like

14:34

you said if if his words were

14:36

just kind of clumsy and he didn't

14:38

mean it the way that they came

14:40

out in the terms of a direct

14:43

quote they would give him the opportunity

14:45

to clarify to clarify those. And seemingly,

14:47

there was no intentions of doing that

14:49

based off of the firing. So where

14:51

do the Flyers go from here? It's

14:53

a fascinating question, and I really don't

14:56

know. In the short term, they moved

14:58

Bradshaw, who has done a really good

15:00

job as assistant coach. He runs the

15:02

defense, runs the penalty kill. They moved

15:04

him up to interim head coach. So

15:07

that's what's gonna happen in the short

15:09

term. The long term, though, very good

15:11

question, because they built this. organization really

15:13

on the idea of a three-man triumvert

15:15

of leadership of John Tertorello's head coach

15:17

Keith Jones is president of hockey operations

15:20

Daniel Breuer as general manager John Tertorell

15:22

predated both of those guys he was

15:24

the head coach starting in 2022 they

15:26

brought in Breyer was was in the

15:28

organization but he was kind of an

15:30

advisor to the general manager he didn't

15:33

take over the GM job until 20-23

15:35

Jones wasn't hired until 20-23 and part

15:37

the reason why those guys were picked

15:39

was because they wanted to keep John

15:41

Torturella. Dan Hoffordi loved John Torturella and

15:44

he felt like Breyer was a good

15:46

fit he'd be able to. to work

15:48

with Tordorella and Jones wasn't going to

15:50

come in and say I need a

15:52

new coach. I'm willing to take on

15:54

John Tordorella as part of this job

15:57

because they thought that those three would

15:59

work well together. Well now one of

16:01

the three is gone. So I don't

16:03

know what the leadership structure is going

16:05

to look like with John Tordorella gone

16:07

because the entire leadership structure was created.

16:10

operating under the assumption that John Tour

16:12

de Rella was going to be part

16:14

of the leadership structure. So now they

16:16

have to kind of, I don't think

16:18

they're going to fire Breyer or Jones

16:21

to be clear, but they have to

16:23

kind of start from scratch in terms

16:25

of how they want this to look

16:27

because they built this with John de

16:29

Rella in mind. An important clarification to

16:31

make in case anybody, we are not

16:34

just, he's not one of our buddies.

16:36

It's a tough name, says the guy

16:38

named DJ Bean. Does, Junterrell still have

16:40

his fastball? Because last season was very

16:42

interesting. They were in the playoff picture

16:44

and even top three in the metro

16:47

at the beginning of every month. And

16:49

then they start to fall and boy

16:51

oh boy when they fell did they

16:53

crater. And then you have this season.

16:55

So does he still have his fastball?

16:58

We're going to get into where he

17:00

could potentially fit and it's a short

17:02

list. But if you were a team.

17:04

that could use a John Torturella type,

17:06

would you want this version of John

17:08

Torturella right now? Well, it's a really

17:11

good question because in a sense, I

17:13

think he does still have his fastball,

17:15

but his fastball also comes with the

17:17

fact that once in a while he's

17:19

going to hit... a guy in the

17:21

head and loaded the bases with batsman.

17:24

Like, yes, he has his fastball. Like,

17:26

the Flyers are a pretty good 5-1-5

17:28

team, given the talent that they have

17:30

on hand. They drive play. They control

17:32

the scoring chance battle. The big reason

17:35

why this team has been poor this

17:37

year has been the goal tending. It's

17:39

been the worst in the league, and

17:41

it's dragged everything down. Also, they made.

17:43

big trades in the lead up to

17:45

the deadline, trading away guys who were

17:48

very popular in the room and in

17:50

the case of Scott Lawton, like the

17:52

leader of the room. I don't think

17:54

the room has fully grasped how to

17:56

handle that yet. So that's played a

17:58

role in this part of the collapse.

18:01

So I don't think it's all tortoirel's

18:03

fault that the team is bad. However,

18:05

it is part and parcel of the

18:07

John tortoirel experience that he's gonna rub

18:09

a lot of guys the wrong way.

18:12

And you have to if you're looking

18:14

to hire him. you have to sign

18:16

up for the John Torturell experience in

18:18

full. You have to sign up for

18:20

the fact that there is going to

18:22

be some guys that he's going to

18:25

decide just don't got it and is

18:27

not going to play them and is

18:29

going to put them in his dog

18:31

house, it's going to scratch them, it's

18:33

going to bench them. You have to

18:35

sign up for the fact that three

18:38

or four times of the year he's

18:40

going to go up to the podium

18:42

and say something absolutely bonkers that you're

18:44

going to have to spend the next

18:46

week dealing with the next week dealing

18:49

with the fallout from. you're going to

18:51

have to deal with the fact that

18:53

he's going to want power. He's going

18:55

to want some degree of control over

18:57

the roster. So does he have his

18:59

fastball in the sense that he can

19:02

coach a good system and that he

19:04

can get a lot out of underwhelming

19:06

rosters? Yeah, he does, but you also

19:08

have to be willing to sign up

19:10

for everything else that comes with John

19:13

Tortorell. Isn't that the full tortorilla experience?

19:15

Like that's the story of everywhere he's

19:17

been. And before we move on to

19:19

like where he might go next if

19:21

he wants to continue coaching, I did

19:23

want to ask like what's going to

19:26

be the prevailing sentiment about the tortorilla

19:28

era in Philadelphia because he was hired

19:30

to lead them out of this rebuild

19:32

and the Flyers statement that they put

19:34

out with the announcement of the the

19:36

firing was a lot about him restoring

19:39

the culture of Philly and the Flyers

19:41

and we've talked about. a bunch about

19:43

that over the last couple of years,

19:45

where like the Flyers finally kind of

19:47

had their swagger back in terms of

19:50

being a proud, no nonsense organization, and

19:52

a lot of that does come back

19:54

to towards his fingerprints, but at the

19:56

end of the day, he was hired

19:58

to lead them out of the... and

20:00

that never happened. So what's going to

20:03

be the prevailing view on the torts

20:05

era in Philly? I feel like a lot

20:07

of that's going to come down to

20:09

what happens over the next couple years.

20:11

Now if the Flyers over the next

20:14

two to three seasons develop into

20:16

being a contender, I think his

20:18

tenure will be looked at positively. by

20:21

most because it'll be that you know

20:23

he did set the foundation you know

20:25

he got these guys you know playing

20:27

tougher hockey he he toughened them up

20:29

and then they were able to use

20:31

that as a springboard to become a

20:34

contender now if the whole thing falls

20:36

apart and this ends with in

20:38

a year danny rare gets fired because

20:40

the team is bad again and they

20:42

have to restructure the front office again

20:45

after doing so just two years ago

20:47

in 2023, then I think it's going

20:49

to be looked at as a failure

20:51

and a total waste of time because

20:54

you hire this guy to improve the

20:56

culture and then as soon as he

20:58

leaves the culture completely torpedoes. So right

21:00

now it's unclear because so much of

21:03

this is going to depend upon whether

21:05

he's viewed as like the precursor to

21:07

when things got good or if he's

21:09

viewed as the man, he's the reason

21:11

why the Breire rebuild didn't work. A

21:13

bright spot for the Flyers this year

21:16

is that they got a 20 goal

21:18

season out of Matt Veechkov as a

21:20

rookie. On a scale of 1 to

21:23

10, how would you grade

21:25

John Tortorella's job of

21:27

shepherding Matt Veechkov? I don't

21:29

think he did as bad of a

21:32

job as a lot of fans

21:34

too, because I do think that

21:36

Meechkov has improved, not leaps and

21:38

bounds, and he's never gonna

21:40

be a Mark Stone style

21:43

wingerer. but he is showing

21:45

a bit more commitment to not

21:47

just cherry picking on every

21:49

play and doing things that

21:51

will allow him to not just

21:53

be a offense only guy and

21:56

I think he will benefit from

21:58

that in the long term. you

22:00

know, three, four, five years down the

22:02

line. That said, Tour de Rella's done

22:04

a lot of things that have really

22:07

ticked off fans. He's not playing Mishkov

22:09

nearly as much as the other guys

22:11

in the Calder race are getting played.

22:14

He's gotten scratched. He's gotten benched. Tour

22:16

de Rella has has not been as,

22:18

I guess the best way to put

22:21

it is he hasn't pumped Mishkov's tires

22:23

as much as the coaches of the

22:25

other guys have. Again, a lot of

22:27

this is going to depend upon what

22:30

happens with Mishkov. If Mishkov becomes a

22:32

superstar, and I think there's a very

22:34

good chance he will, you know, maybe

22:37

five, six years down the line, Mishkov's

22:39

going to get interviewed and he's going

22:41

to say, yeah, I really benefited from

22:44

that first tough year with John Tordorello.

22:46

So it's so hard to talk about

22:48

this now. because so much of how

22:51

he's going to be viewed is going

22:53

to be dependent about how things play

22:55

out two, three years down the line.

22:58

Right now, he's gone. And his tenure,

23:00

I guess, in the here or now

23:02

was a failure because he didn't take

23:04

the scene back to the playoffs, but

23:07

I never really viewed him as the

23:09

guy who was going to take them

23:11

back to the playoffs. I always thought

23:14

he was going to be kind of

23:16

the bridge guy, but you can't evaluate

23:18

the bridge until you see where the

23:21

towards coaches again, he's about to turn

23:23

67 years old. And if so, like

23:25

what is the mold of a team

23:28

that John Tortorello would fit behind the

23:30

bench on? Because it seems pretty clear

23:32

at this point, he does not want

23:35

to coach a rebuilding team. Well, here's

23:37

what I'll tell you. When John Tortorello

23:39

first took the job in 2022. we

23:41

as in the media were allowed to

23:44

go down to the locker room and

23:46

meet with him kind of like sort

23:48

of off the record. And Tour de

23:51

Rolla during that meeting with us said

23:53

that this is going to be his

23:55

last. head coaching stop. Philadelphia will be

23:58

his last side coach stop. Hilariously enough

24:00

a beat writer who no longer is

24:02

a full-time beat writer for the Flyers

24:05

actually tweeted that out. So this is

24:07

supposed to be like an off-the-record thing

24:09

and then he tweets it out. Kevin

24:12

Hayes's fingerprints all over it. I guess

24:14

it's no longer off the record really,

24:16

but that was said by John Tordorella

24:18

in 2022 that this was going to

24:21

be his last stop. Now He's head

24:23

coach. Maybe he just will have the

24:25

itch and be like, no, I want

24:28

to, I don't want this to be

24:30

my last op, I want to show

24:32

that I still got it and that

24:35

Philly was an awkward ending and I

24:37

want to do it again. That's very

24:39

possible. I can't predict the future. If

24:42

he's going to go somewhere else though,

24:44

I think it's got to be to

24:46

a team that has the talent but

24:49

needs a hard ass to kind of

24:51

get the talent to start playing up

24:53

to their ability. Buffalo being like an

24:56

obvious choice. Boston, John, Simon, brother. I

24:58

don't think people can see the sign

25:00

if you want to read. Oh, the

25:02

sign that is behind us says step

25:05

one Lindy, step two towards, step three,

25:07

question marks, step four, profit baby. That

25:09

is the Buffalo Sabres. Yeah, it's 100%

25:12

of the Bubbles. Like I heard some

25:14

people say the Bruins. I'm sorry guys,

25:16

I don't think the Bruins have that

25:19

much talent. Yeah, where's the building team?

25:21

He just said he does not have

25:23

an interest in coaching a rebuilding team.

25:26

Yeah, but the Brewers, on the other

25:28

hand, they got talent. They just seem

25:30

like they have no culture. That would

25:33

be a fit. Now, whether he wants

25:35

to do it or not, I don't

25:37

know, but. If he's gonna coach, I

25:39

don't think any team that is in

25:42

a contender now is going to hire

25:44

him, because they're not gonna sign up

25:46

for the torts experience, and he's now

25:49

made it clear that he doesn't really

25:51

wanna coach a team that is tanking

25:53

or losing and playing out the string,

25:56

that pretty much just leaves teams that

25:58

are talented and should be better. What

26:00

about a couple of teams that have

26:03

taken a step backwards this year, but

26:05

have already had. the torts experience. Like

26:07

what a team like Vancouver or a

26:10

team like New York go back and

26:12

double-dip knowing what they know about John

26:14

Torturella and what that whole experience brings.

26:16

I cannot imagine a world where he

26:19

goes back to Vancouver. That was such

26:21

a mess. He didn't even live in

26:23

Vancouver. He lived in the United States

26:26

and he had to like travel across

26:28

the border every day. That was just

26:30

a disaster of a situation from the

26:33

jump. New York, look, the Rangers do

26:35

crazy things all the time. So I

26:37

can't rule out that possibility. Vancouver though,

26:40

nothing would shock me more than him

26:42

popping back up in Vancouver. That would

26:44

blow me away. It would be the

26:47

best. Yeah, the list of teams is

26:49

just short. And I honestly, this made

26:51

me realize because I was also trying

26:53

to think like where would he go?

26:56

Maybe Nashville, something like that, but I

26:58

don't think that many teams are gonna

27:00

fire their coaches this year. have done

27:03

it in season and teams that have

27:05

done it, have done it with great

27:07

success. Detroit does it and they get

27:10

their next actual guy. St. Louis does

27:12

it, gets their next actual guy. Boston

27:14

will be looking for a real solution

27:17

there. I can't imagine torts would be

27:19

interested in that, but who knows, maybe

27:21

Pride thing, come back home. That could

27:24

maybe tie into it. The power struggle

27:26

between, if Neely and Sweeney are still

27:28

there, the power struggle between Neely Sweeney

27:30

and Torts would be just, it would

27:33

be a disaster. It would be a

27:35

circus and I do agree with you

27:37

that, with both of you, that the

27:40

talent isn't there to do it. And

27:42

then after that, like, Chicago, but that

27:44

would be doing exactly what, it would

27:47

be arriving. where he kind of arrived

27:49

in Philly, which is next step time,

27:51

please, and I don't know if, I

27:54

don't know, maybe he was just sick

27:56

of it in that moment because a

27:58

lot of people when they tire of

28:01

jobs, they're like, you know what, I

28:03

don't want to do anything like this

28:05

ever again, but really if you did

28:08

a symbol. thing just with different people

28:10

and a fresh coat of paint on

28:12

it you'll feel a little better so

28:14

maybe Chicago but I don't know about

28:17

all that Kirk Kirk in the chat

28:19

says Anaheim like Anaheim would be a

28:21

very interesting one because they do have

28:24

the talent they're sort of rebuilding but

28:26

I think that that's a team that

28:28

would fit the characteristics of a team

28:31

that would be looking for a torts

28:33

type. Tort's my coach if I'm in

28:35

a hymn. Torts and Zegris seems like

28:38

a match made in heaven, he said

28:40

with heavy sarcasm. Maybe it's what he

28:42

needs though. I was gonna say, I

28:45

remember at the beginning of the season,

28:47

Petey, throughout the idea that maybe a

28:49

guy like John Cooper would be approaching

28:51

retirement. And if a guy, if he,

28:54

if I like, I know we're talking

28:56

about like firings, but if someone like

28:58

that decided they were, they were done

29:01

with it, maybe, or like a Palmerese

29:03

if they want another Stanley Cup, that

29:05

situation like that, I think, that would

29:08

be the ultimate, that that's a going

29:10

back to an old team that I

29:12

think all parties would be interested in.

29:15

He went there, he won there, that

29:17

like, that's where my vision of John

29:19

Tortorella still is the crazy lightning coach.

29:22

So yeah. Want a cup there? I

29:24

know I didn't even consider the the

29:26

cutter goate of it all if he

29:28

went to Anaheim that would be unbelievable.

29:31

So that's what that's my pick I

29:33

want him to go coach the ducks.

29:35

Oh that would be the best. I'm

29:38

not firing Cronin if I'm the ducks.

29:40

There's been a lot of smoke around

29:42

that old situation. Yeah I feel like

29:45

there's been smoke around that though for

29:47

ever. Yeah it would be funny going

29:49

the ducks way like the ducks are

29:52

an old school team. they have that

29:54

like, you know, the people at the

29:56

top like the torts types. It would

29:59

be funny though, given the fact that

30:01

everything you hear about Cronin is that

30:03

all the players hate him and if

30:05

they fire Cronin to bring it to

30:08

a row, it's like be careful what

30:10

you wish for. Honestly though, that's like

30:12

the perfect situation for torts. It's like,

30:15

oh, the only way that I can

30:17

be liked by my players is by

30:19

follow up a guy who was universally

30:22

disliked by all the players. He kept

30:24

the seat warm for him. That's right.

30:26

He got it already. Charlie, you are

33:08

time, timeline.com/chaos. We do have breaking news.

33:11

Oh boy. Per one Andre Tarene. Heart

33:13

candidate Karalvamelka is making his 15th straight

33:15

start. Oh my God. Yes! We're hitting

33:17

the Oilers pro shop today with carts,

33:20

maybe. If they have Karelvamelka jerseys custom.

33:22

Yeah, that would be, you should get

33:24

stopped at the border. I mean, I'll

33:27

tell you what, Karelvamelka's got to start

33:29

taking some mightopure because. His body is

33:31

aging rapidly based off of how he's

33:34

being used this season. Brogged in Houston,

33:36

tweeted a quote from Tarini. He said,

33:38

there is no load management. We can't

33:41

rest him so we can play golf

33:43

in April. He's our best player since

33:45

a while ago, and he's a big

33:48

part of what we're doing. We're fighting

33:50

for our life, and we believe in

33:52

ourselves. C. C. C. Veltia, on. Oh

33:55

yeah, the Brewers. The greatest deadline acquisition

33:57

ever. Not the most consequential one, but

33:59

the greatest deadline acquisition ever. Yeah, but

34:01

just said play every fucking game. Yeah,

34:04

but they have Vamelka for beyond this

34:06

year. The reason that it rocked Elizabethi

34:08

was like, this is a rental, and

34:11

we are going to squeeze every penny

34:13

out of this rental as we possibly

34:15

can. But I can fuck this up

34:18

a little bit. Smoke them if you

34:20

got them. And we don't know, next

34:22

year isn't promised. I mean. contractually it

34:25

is. I'm saying to the earth. Well

34:27

we could all die today, tomorrow. So

34:29

play on Saturday, Leon. The Malcolm 15

34:32

games in a row. That rocks. What

34:34

does it say about Nathan McKinnon's hard

34:36

candidacy? It means that he has company.

34:38

We will be agretta downtown tonight. Doors

34:41

at 6 p.m. Games giveaways, including an

34:43

exclusive, what chaos, Edmonton themed hat from

34:45

Dishon. You are going to want to

34:48

get your hands on that. It is

34:50

$15 and I'm saying $15 to get

34:52

in, that gets you in and gives

34:55

you a chance to win a pair

34:57

of tickets to BOA Saturday. How fun

34:59

will that be. I know that Sean's

35:02

going to be all over the bubble

35:04

hockey. There's a pop a shot. Pete

35:06

loves that. Yep. Boards he was telling

35:09

me. I've been to Greta a few

35:11

times, but I didn't see this. They

35:13

have tic-tac-toe basketball? No. Connect four. Connect

35:15

four. Basketball. They also have a tic-tac-toe

35:18

thing he said. But apparently they just

35:20

renovated it. What don't they have? It's

35:22

going to be fantastic off if the

35:25

Hawks... higher torts. Respectfully, my friend, you

35:27

are a Blackhawks fan. You should probably

35:29

be ticked off for a little bit,

35:32

no matter what, but we'll try to

35:34

keep you happy. Stan S. says, shouts

35:36

to CC. Shouts to... Shouts to... Youk.

35:39

Bob Euker. Bob Euker. Oh, okay. Just

35:41

a little... in the chat. Very good.

35:43

Okay, the Oilers keep dying. Last night,

35:46

Stu Skinner took a knee from Michael

35:48

Randen to the head. He left the

35:50

game, is not with them for this

35:52

Seattle game tonight. Who knows what his

35:55

future is, but my biggest read on

35:57

it is, Michael Randen's year is fascinating.

35:59

Oh yeah. The only thing I thought

36:02

about that guy was that he is

36:04

a top three-winger. in the NHL and

36:06

that I would give him basically a

36:09

blank check. There has been so much

36:11

noise around this guy this year, he

36:13

has been traded twice, he's almost been

36:16

traded as many times as goals he

36:18

has scored since leaving the Colorado Avalon

36:20

because he kind of ain't doing shit.

36:23

And now he's just kneeing guys on

36:25

the head. And it didn't look intentional,

36:27

don't want to do it chat, but

36:29

it's just funny that this motherfucker is

36:32

in the middle of everything bad. Yeah,

36:34

he also got hit in the face

36:36

of the puck earlier this week. Every

36:39

Stars player is taking pucks to the

36:41

face this year, which is crazy. But

36:43

yeah, I don't think it was intentional.

36:46

I think Randin's though, like if we're

36:48

talking about random season, the defining storyline

36:50

is the enemies per 60 that he

36:53

is garnering. Yes. Because he spent the

36:55

entire year like pissing off a bunch

36:57

of different fan bases. And now like,

37:00

we're wondering, does he have more enemies

37:02

to then points? Yes, I mean enemies

37:04

and how many goals does he have

37:07

he has four goals famously since being

37:09

traded we looked it up yesterday four

37:11

goals since being traded from Colorado So

37:13

two goals for each team and he

37:16

scored in his debut for the stars

37:18

and thought okay. He's back. No, he's

37:20

not. He's kind of having a weird

37:23

season, but He's got yeah, I mean

37:25

if you want to do like fan

37:27

bases avalanche I mean the return to

37:30

Colorado suggested that they're more appreciative than

37:32

pissed. I mean it's worked out so

37:34

well for them, so they should be

37:37

in the absolute best mood. Yeah. So

37:39

that's that with Miko Randen. Jeff Skinner

37:41

took a stick to the. yesterday, no

37:44

problem there. Zach Hyman, though, got his

37:46

leg all twisted up and we were

37:48

watching on the plane with bad Wi-Fi

37:50

and that did not sound good, it

37:53

did not look good, when he went

37:55

down the tunnel, I was like at

37:57

least he's kind of walking down there,

38:00

dudes back in like three minutes. Yeah,

38:02

I mean, the bigger, the big takeaway

38:04

here is that the Oilers gotta just

38:07

be healthy for the rest of the

38:09

year. They can't have any more scary

38:11

run-ins. The Connor, Leon, Hyman, Skinner, Hyman,

38:14

Skinner, Hyman, Skinner, Skinner, Hyman, Skinner, All

38:16

of this has been just like too

38:18

close for comfort heading into the playoffs

38:21

here. We're a few weeks away from

38:23

the playoffs, just fucking entering healthy. I

38:25

don't, we're talking, we spent yesterday talking

38:27

about how much parody there is, how

38:30

it's like anybody's playoff run. I don't

38:32

want to see teams sucked off because

38:34

of injuries like the Devils. Exactly. And

38:37

playwise, I am totally cool with the

38:39

Oilers right now. I don't. I typically

38:41

don't get too high or too low

38:44

during the regular season anyway, but all

38:46

I really care about is health. I

38:48

don't care about trophies, I don't care,

38:51

just be healthy because even without Dry

38:53

Sidal in McDavid, they've played well. The

38:55

fact that I turned that game off

38:58

at four nothing last night, that I

39:00

saw on Twitter people talking about like,

39:02

one goal game and I was like,

39:04

what are you fucking talking about? Ottinger

39:07

was unbelievable. But like Oilers played well

39:09

for a lot of that game. They've

39:11

been fine without McDavid and Dry Saddle.

39:14

So I'll say this though, we're seeing

39:16

Dry Saddle on Saturday. That guy gets

39:18

on the ice for morning skate yesterday,

39:21

sees that it's for nothing at some

39:23

point yesterday, and definitely has some, fuck

39:25

it, I'll just do it myself, we'll

39:28

see him Saturday. So that's that, and

39:30

we'll do Greta tonight, and you can

39:32

talk about it with us. We'll be

39:35

with the Oilers nation crew, nation crew,

39:37

it is going to be the best.

39:39

Start a business that sells decorative plates.

39:41

Find out you have to track expenses.

39:44

Use into quick books to auto track

39:46

expenses, so you can keep spinning, uh,

39:48

selling those plates. Manage and grow your

39:51

business all in one place. Into it,

39:53

Quick Books, your way to money. Let's

39:55

do today in Jacob Chikrin, because he

39:58

has sold his Tesla and replaced it

40:00

with a G-wagon. The quote from Jacob

40:02

Chikrin, we actually bought a new car

40:05

a few weeks ago. We had a

40:07

Tesla for a while, but we wanted

40:09

to get rid of that. or that

40:12

we want to get rid of. We're

40:14

pretty big, as you guys know, we

40:16

talk about our health and wellness a

40:19

lot. We just had a weird feeling

40:21

about sitting on a battery all day

40:23

in the car, so we wanted to

40:25

get rid of the Tesla, move on

40:28

from the electric, and I got my

40:30

wife, her dream car, which was a

40:32

G wagon. Just might get a G

40:35

wagon out of me, is what you

40:37

said to his lovely bride, because he

40:39

don't want his ass on a battery.

40:42

That's a Drake lyric. The whole thing

40:44

was the drakeler, including the battery part.

40:46

Yes, yes, exactly. And he actually got

40:49

her a dog. They're going to take

40:51

care of the G wagon until the

40:53

G wagon's days are over. How do

40:56

you feel about, I don't know about

40:58

sitting on the battery all day long?

41:00

I mean, I understand it. I don't

41:02

know if that's a... I never thought

41:05

about it, but I dislike the whole

41:07

energy of this swap because he goes

41:09

from a Tesla to a G wagon.

41:12

I want Jacob Chikrin to really commit

41:14

to the bit. I want Jacob Chikrin

41:16

to be showing up to the arena

41:19

with like a fucking Fred Flintstone ass

41:21

car. He should go like at Oliver

41:23

and start riding horses to the arena.

41:26

Yes. Like in Metro DC. If he's

41:28

fully living off the land. He's doing

41:30

the raw meat, he's doing no light

41:33

bulbs, candlelights only, beeswacks, rides his horse

41:35

to the fucking arena. He's gonna fuck

41:37

up a zombie apocalypse. Like he is,

41:39

he's already built for it. No electricity

41:42

so I mean it's I so I

41:44

don't know about that because it's it's

41:46

easy to do this shit when you're

41:49

so rich Yeah, but if I can

41:51

do it with you take away his

41:53

millions. Can he do it? I mean

41:56

I guess because I'm sure he's having

41:58

like prime meat delivered to him from

42:00

like. No, he said yesterday he had

42:03

to go to special butcher shops to

42:05

do this. But the question is really

42:07

could he kill an animal with his

42:10

bare hands? Right. But he doesn't have

42:12

to worry about clicking it. So. He

42:14

does have to worry about cooking it,

42:16

but I wonder what the zombie apocalypse

42:19

could look like for a guy who's

42:21

doing this while very rich. He'll be

42:23

used to the no electricity at the

42:26

first time. My favorite part of this

42:28

whole thing is, you go down further

42:30

in the story, and there's another quote,

42:33

and it says, my wife and I

42:35

are just big into living a clean,

42:37

healthy life. We try to do a

42:40

good job of not overspending. We're just

42:42

pretty simple and homie people. He just

42:44

bought a G wagon. A G wagon

42:47

costs like a hundred and fifty grand.

42:49

He did not trade in the Tesla

42:51

for like a Honda CRV. Yeah, but

42:53

it's his cheap month. We have our

42:56

months as if there's like lots of

42:58

those. We have our months. So like

43:00

a quarter of the year, you're just

43:03

not being good about your money. Yeah.

43:05

You think that he is crazy about

43:07

investing and having his money make more

43:10

money? No, I think he puts his

43:12

money in the walls. Yeah, I think

43:14

it's more likely... He's on extra grabs,

43:17

kind of, yeah, he's got a mattress.

43:19

He's got a lot of gold. Definitely,

43:21

he's definitely a gold. It's like a

43:24

Thanksgiving, a class. I like this guy,

43:26

man. He might be a crypto guy.

43:28

He might be a crypto guy. I

43:31

like, I think, I'm cool, I'm cool

43:33

with it. He seems to not be

43:35

like pushing it on other people, like

43:37

pushing it on other people. I like

43:40

that he's this weird, but I want

43:42

him to really lean into it. The

43:44

horse thing would kill me. I would

43:47

love it. Tokyo Sex Whale says that

43:49

Chikrin eats the zombies in the zombie

43:51

apocalypse. I would agree with that. I

43:54

will say it's hard to criticize him

43:56

when he looks the way he does

43:58

and plays a professional sport at the

44:01

level he does. But everything he says.

44:03

is dumb as shit. There is no

44:05

scientific evidence for like the battery thing,

44:08

for example. There's like nothing he does

44:10

is like scientifically based. He's just going

44:12

off vibes and conspiracy theories and it

44:14

works for him. So like I said,

44:17

too hard to criticize too hard. So

44:19

obvious question, do we think he listens

44:21

to Joe Rogan? Absolutely. He donated to

44:24

RFK's campaign. He listens to Joe Rogan.

44:26

He's a humorman guy. He's an RFK

44:28

guy. He's a pseudo-science guy and sometimes

44:31

he lands ass backwards into the into

44:33

like the right thing like RFK. RFK

44:35

is like we should get phones out

44:38

of schools and everyone's like yeah and

44:40

he's like because batteries give you cancer

44:42

and it's like well that's just not

44:45

true so you're half right and I

44:47

guess I can give you credit for

44:49

that. I mean at least he I

44:51

don't know if it's great behavior but

44:54

if you're going to be a conspiracy

44:56

theorist guy. Don't just ask the questions

44:58

and say did you know live the

45:01

life. He lives the life. Yeah, you

45:03

respect that I can I believe what

45:05

you want to believe if you're not

45:08

pushing it on other people right and

45:10

so I can't I can't like I'm

45:12

not mad at him for it, but

45:15

It is I feel like important to

45:17

point out that everything he says is

45:19

not true. And I know he does

45:22

like Instagram stories and whatnot but like

45:24

he's not like a quote-unquote content creator

45:26

when it comes to this stuff. Like

45:28

he's not doing it for like weird

45:31

attention he's just doing it because he

45:33

actually buys into it which like I

45:35

can I can respect that. Yeah like

45:38

and he's not like lying about weird

45:40

shit like the liver king where he's

45:42

like I don't do steroids. Saucey for

45:45

a PD suspension for chikrin then if

45:47

that happened though I would be I

45:49

would be more on like I'd be

45:52

more App to believe that he just

45:54

like took some weird shit that he

45:56

didn't know was illegal The excuse that

45:59

everyone gets yeah, he actually is probably

46:01

my big concern around chicken is that

46:03

like I've watched better call Saul at

46:05

what point does he really like go

46:08

off the deep-end? come Chuck and like,

46:10

especially with all those beeswax candles, you

46:12

know how it ended for Chuck. Yes,

46:15

but that was a, a trigger warning.

46:17

That was a, you said Sussy. It

46:19

starts with like, yeah, he was a

46:22

Carson. So, so, uh, somebody, Eileen said,

46:24

uh. I don't know, Dylan Strome seems

46:26

sick of him and all the shit.

46:29

I did want to bring up that

46:31

part because he did acknowledge the Dylan

46:33

Strome of it all. He said, yeah,

46:36

Dylan Strome suered me and now I'm

46:38

dealing with all of that shit. So

46:40

he's basically like, thanks a lot for

46:43

throwing me under the bus. Well, well,

46:45

well, if it isn't the consequences, was

46:47

it, the consequences of my actions? Yeah.

46:49

We're all looking for the guy who

46:52

did this. But that's part of the

46:54

thing that I was saying that I

46:56

was saying that I was saying that

46:59

I was saying about, like, like, like,

47:01

like, he's not putting the shit out

47:03

putting the shit out there. As like

47:06

a content creator and being like look

47:08

at me. He's kind of just trying

47:10

to like live his own life and

47:13

do his weird shit People asking him

47:15

about it because like I don't think

47:17

like when he was in Arizona. He

47:20

was doing the the raw liver and

47:22

stuff like that I think by product

47:24

of being in Arizona and didn't get

47:26

talked about too much because he didn't

47:29

really talk about it. The one thing

47:31

that I will definitely say I'm on

47:33

board with is just the the the

47:36

natural light thing in the fire light

47:38

thing I would if I were rich

47:40

If I could make, I wouldn't do

47:43

it all the time, but if I

47:45

could make part of my existence winding

47:47

down the days with candle light, instead

47:50

like if the home was just had

47:52

a few candles going, I bet I

47:54

would sleep like a baby. He said

47:57

that he said I've been sleeping like

47:59

a baby. I'm pretty sure that's an

48:01

exact quote. It's really nice, sleeping like

48:03

a baby. Yeah. So maybe that's embedded

48:06

in my head, but also it just

48:08

makes sense. Don't you think I mean

48:10

I mean, I... do less Instagram on

48:13

my phone at night now and I

48:15

it fucking makes well you like my

48:17

my brain just kind of slowly gets

48:20

off it a little bit and then

48:22

when it's time to rest I rest

48:24

and then what's time to sleep by

48:27

sleep if you're doing that with just

48:29

like it's dimly lit by candle oh

48:31

baby I'm falling asleep thinking about yeah

48:34

I mean I'm a huge believer in

48:36

lights and like the the lighting effect

48:38

that that lights light in lighting can

48:40

have like fluorescent lighting with that yes

48:43

I'm a light person and I believe

48:45

in the light that lights may give

48:47

that's right no I just Whatever it

48:50

hurts or whatever of certain lighting, it

48:52

this cicadian rhythm, I'm just butchering all

48:54

of this. What you know about, is

48:57

it called, uh, hatch? No, I don't

48:59

know what that is. Like green chilies?

49:01

Our other travel, uh, our other travel

49:04

partner has a, it's like $150, it's

49:06

this alarm thing that... Wakes you up

49:08

naturally. Oh yeah Ellen has that instead

49:11

of setting off a thing. Yeah, it

49:13

just does like slow we're kind of

49:15

like eases you back in we're a

49:18

big light household and I've had to

49:20

like battle with with Ellen over lights

49:22

where I don't do overhead light. I

49:24

don't like overhead lights. I like small

49:27

small table lamps and things like that

49:29

all across soft lighting soft lighting soft

49:31

lighting is I go and walk to

49:34

my neighborhood and I see so many

49:36

houses that just have like harsh lighting

49:38

and it's like how do you live

49:41

like well I was gonna say it's

49:43

it's funny for Trickran because he spends

49:45

like when he works it's in like

49:48

the most fluorescence lit environment you can

49:50

possibly get well that was the portion

49:52

that I wanted to bring up too

49:55

is that like Jacob Trickran now has

49:57

to Absolutely guarantee that the capitals get

49:59

out of like the first one or

50:01

two rounds of the playoffs because he

50:04

is opening himself up to so many

50:06

the lights were too bright jokes. Oh

50:08

fair. I thought you're gonna say that

50:11

like people are gonna be on him

50:13

for like oh well the less stuff

50:15

but liver and defending yeah I have

50:18

to remind myself that not every market

50:20

is Boston. I was even, because like,

50:22

if he played in Boston and they

50:25

lost in the first round and he

50:27

had a bad play or something, they

50:29

would spend so much time on the

50:32

radio talking about like how his priorities

50:34

are out of whack. When Jeremy Swamen

50:36

was in his contract dispute. That's so

50:38

true. Just not every market is like

50:41

that. So hopefully people go easy on

50:43

them, but I mean I'm fascinated by

50:45

all this good man though on the

50:48

no overhead like yeah I did not

50:50

know that you were about that life.

50:52

That's been something that has been that

50:55

I have been taught and we're actually

50:57

going to cover up there's a light

50:59

switch. It only it's in the way

51:02

of where I want to put a

51:04

TV and we'd have to just get

51:06

rid of the light switch. I don't

51:09

fucking do it because the light switch,

51:11

the all it controls is the overhead

51:13

light. Don't eat that shit anyway. Fuck

51:15

overhead lights. Buck overhead lights. Jacob Chickren

51:18

said that. And that is on God.

51:20

So yeah, I think we've just, this

51:22

has been a big week for him.

51:25

Learning a lot about him, but I

51:27

like most of it. I think we've

51:29

talked about him more this week. Yeah,

51:32

but like, he's a fucking insane. Yeah,

51:34

I mean, I don't necessarily like when

51:36

people, when people, platform people, platform, stupid

51:39

ideas, stupid ideas, Probably dumber and less

51:41

rich than he is. There's a thin

51:43

blue line between genius and insanity. Yes,

51:46

and I think he loves being right

51:48

on top of the thin blue line

51:50

Okay, that would track. Let's do a

51:52

slight great. Ooh an exciting night of

51:55

hockey indeed. We have what do we

51:57

have ten games? Yes, we have ten

51:59

games beginning penguins at sabers at 7

52:02

p.m. Eastern Canadian that is of course

52:04

a Tim Horton bowl Well, I did

52:06

not know Tim Horton played for the

52:09

penguins. Got to do a little Tim

52:11

Horton bowl. Senators at red wing, 7

52:13

p.m. Eastern Canadian, that is of course

52:16

a. Marian hostable always love those Utah

52:18

Hockey Club at lightning 7 p.m. A

52:20

Michael's circuit chevravenge game but how about

52:23

an Ian Colble Pete? No. How do

52:25

you like that? Don't. How do you

52:27

watch a stick that in your blunt

52:30

and smoke? Not interested. Canadians at Flyers

52:32

at 7 p.m. that is of course

52:34

a Mark Recki bowl. The capitals at

52:36

Wild 7.30 p.m.m. Eastern in Canada? That's

52:39

a that first of all that's just

52:41

a good one. Got to see all

52:43

the wild. Good teams closely. Capitals just

52:46

played the Jets. They've got some tough

52:48

opponents here in the stretch of the

52:50

schedule. This is where are you gonna

52:53

go? It's a Marcus Johansson bowl. Oh

52:55

good, I was gonna say Darcy Kemper,

52:57

but it is to a Marcus Johansson

53:00

bowl. Blues at Predators that is at

53:02

8 p.m. Canadian, a... What's that? Of

53:04

course. Oh yes, that's a, a, what's

53:07

our guy, Ryan O'Reilly? Correct. The legend.

53:09

So actually, it's a, it's a Marcus

53:11

Johansson revenge game. The capitals and wild,

53:13

yeah. Damn. Stars at Flames is at

53:16

8 p.m. Eastern in Canada, that is

53:18

a Christina bowl. I feel like, I

53:20

don't know if you guys heard my

53:23

Tim Warren stroke. Oh, what'd you say?

53:25

You said Ryan O'Reilly born. Speaking of

53:27

Tim Horton. Nice, not bad. That was

53:30

definitely worth bringing to our attention. Good

53:32

work, Sean. That's one of those things

53:34

where you know we didn't hear it

53:37

because we didn't. I knew you would

53:39

have at least acknowledged it. Yeah. At

53:41

10 p.m. Eastern in Canada, we've got

53:44

the Kings in the avalanche. That is

53:46

a Jerome accountable. At 10 p.m. Eastern

53:48

in Canada, but also. 8 p.m. Mountain

53:50

in Canada and being shown on the

53:53

big projector and all the TV Zagretta

53:55

is the Oilers at the Cracken. That

53:57

is a Jordan Eberley bowl of course

54:00

and... we forget. Kamiamoto called up from

54:02

AHL Tucson Roadrunners as

54:04

a deaf move for the Utah

54:06

Hockey Club by the way. Oh

54:08

I get to well actually Apollonius

54:10

right now. No it wasn't, he

54:13

was on the Bruins in between.

54:15

Well actually Apollonius, Marcus Johansson had

54:17

two stints with the Washington Capitals

54:19

to the Minnesota Wild where he

54:21

currently plays. That is a Marcus

54:23

Johansson revenge game my friend. I

54:25

mean, Pete just doing well actually

54:27

the fuck out of you. Pete,

54:30

get cooked. Yeah, I was going

54:32

to say Pete doing what Jacob

54:34

Chicken never would. That's right.

54:36

Jacob Chicken doesn't cook the

54:38

meat. Maple Leafs at sharks, talking

54:40

to us at 10.30 p.m. Eastern,

54:43

and when I see Maple Leafs

54:45

and sharks, I'll always think of

54:48

one name. Who are you thinking

54:50

of? Marlow? Patrick Marlow. Oh! So

54:52

could I not? Shout out

54:54

CC Dry on Twitter, went

54:56

to the game last night

54:58

with a Goatee CC sign.

55:01

It was a well-made sign

55:03

with a goat on it.

55:05

Love my weird Oilers Twitter.

55:08

Goatey CC. All right, that's

55:10

tucking us in. I don't

55:12

eat that tuck at 10.30

55:15

p.m. Eastern, but as we

55:17

are mountain, we're not getting

55:20

tucked by anything. No, you

55:22

get talked at a reasonable time. Yeah,

55:24

like you can be talked at any

55:26

time you can have a seven o'clock

55:29

talk But well, it's like saying you

55:31

get a breakfast for dinner like it

55:33

still doesn't really make it But I

55:36

mean, this is the definition of the

55:38

talk is the last game game is

55:40

gonna end at like 11 p.m.m. Local

55:42

time that's a good time to go

55:44

to bed instead of one in the morning.

55:47

That's true. I hate I hate I

55:49

hate late games on the game Oh

55:51

no, those are the games that I

55:53

watched like the closest because there's nothing

55:55

else going on. Except for me wanting

55:57

to go to bed. Well that's a

55:59

skill difference. love of the game, yeah,

56:01

I mean, peace, guilt is your

56:03

brother. He doesn't think about what

56:05

he wants. He knows what he

56:07

needs. I'm not saying I don't

56:09

stay up to watch him. I'm

56:12

saying I don't want to. Okay.

56:14

I would say that makes me

56:16

love the game even more because

56:18

I'm doing it because even though

56:20

I don't want to, you're just

56:22

doing something you like. Do we

56:24

have a rebuttal from Apollonius? He

56:26

said, I think he just said,

56:28

fuck me. Alright, somebody said death

56:30

by well, actually. Vesan Oliveski says

56:32

hype for circuit revenge game and

56:35

Max 1000th. Is that right? Max

56:37

1000? McKinnon? Which, is that? Do

56:39

you already have his 1,000th game?

56:41

Or 1,000th point or whatever it

56:43

was? But I would assume, let's

56:45

see, Nathan, I mean, the circuit

56:47

you have revenge game, hell yeah.

56:50

What's the McKinnon situation? He has a thousand six

56:52

points, so I don't know what's going on there.

56:54

Oh, yeah, maybe they're celebrating it. Oh, maybe things

56:56

at avalanche, I believe. When they already did the

56:59

gold stick thing, I saw that like a week

57:01

ago or so. I don't know, but thank you

57:03

for the super chat very much appreciate it. Far

57:05

be it from us to discuss Nathan McKinnon. Oh,

57:07

yeah, I was like, I was very confused and

57:09

now we are no longer. Thank you for the

57:11

clarification, Sean. We're gonna be on Oilers Nation every

57:13

day with Tyler Rumchuck and Liam Horabin. And if,

57:16

I hope everyone has checked out that show at

57:28

Utah hockey club pro shop wars up now. It's

57:30

a long one. It's a meaty one, but it

57:33

is great the footage that Sean got of us

57:35

getting the jerseys especially trying to find Pete's Jersey

57:37

and his his size was

57:39

amazing because we're running around

57:41

Sean ends up ends up being

57:43

the one that finds

57:45

it. The The shaky. shaky. We're running

57:47

around find each other. What's

57:50

that? other. What's that? Blair Witch

57:52

vibes. It's amazing, so

57:54

check that out. out. Oh Pete,

57:56
