0:43

reflect on the past and analyze

0:45

the current moment. I speak with

0:48

makers and performers like Rob Lowe,

0:50

Rosie O'Donnell, and Kenya Barris, as

0:52

well as thinkers like Kara Swisher

0:54

and Nate Silver, to understand how

0:56

both personal setbacks and larger forces

0:58

impact our world. Listen to Fail

1:00

Better, wherever you get your podcasts.

1:29

So up working on a pod, Megan and

1:32

Darryl, how we feeling? Oh, shades off, shades

1:34

off, shades off. We don't even know. Oh,

1:36

God. God. I thought you were doing it

1:38

again. Oh, no, I got to do it

1:41

again. Oh my God, it's worse. I thought

1:43

you were going to keep them on. I

1:45

thought they were cool. I'll keep them on

1:47

today because I'm a little. Sleepy boy. I

1:49

don't know how you guys have kids like

1:51

you just don't sleep and you just function

1:53

every day I started I started I started

1:55

I up from waking up from five to

1:58

four 30 just to get an extra half

2:00

a hour, right? That's why you want to get up

2:02

early now, because I'm like angry that I got

2:04

up at seven today, because don't laugh, because

2:06

I feel like I didn't accomplish anything. Now I'm

2:08

like, fuck, I have to get up at six

2:10

so I can do stuff for me. Yeah, but

2:12

when I get up and I don't have a lot of

2:14

sleep, I'm just like angry. I'm 50% of

2:17

who I could be. Mugumi was

2:19

up all night looking at Waffle

2:22

Makers on Amazon. Look at this

2:24

one. Go to bed. Go to

2:26

bed. Go to bed. That's me.

2:29

I'm shopping and I'm not even

2:31

buying stuff. I'm just like looking.

2:33

Wow. I could have all this. That

2:36

looks awesome. Get it. I go to

2:38

bed. So she can make a lunch

2:40

before she goes to work and then

2:43

she's like, well, this could also make

2:45

waffles. It's a

2:47

wambo-combo-combo. That's what I say.

2:49

She didn't say that. Combo-wambo. I

2:52

love him, Muguumi, I'm just kidding.

2:54

She should be a permanent star

2:56

on this show. I know. And that's

2:58

my offer, Mugu-mumi. No. And

3:01

that's my offer, Mugu-goo-mbo. I love.

3:03

Can we tell him what we tell

3:05

him what we tell him what we're

3:07

eating? I'm eating something

3:09

new too, I can do mine. I

3:11

mean something new, I want to talk

3:13

about it, we're not being paid.

3:15

Well, you're not being paid. Well,

3:17

I don't care, I have to tell

3:20

somebody. But wait, who found it? Who

3:22

found it? My amazing super husband,

3:24

who's smarter than everyone,

3:27

and who is always, smarter than everyone,

3:29

and who is always ahead of the,

3:31

what's it called? He's always ahead of

3:33

it. High praise, because you deserve it.

3:36

in life because I'm a scientist now.

3:38

I need to figure out how to

3:40

get more protein in me and we

3:42

did because my husband loves me more

3:44

than anyone. Do you know what changed our

3:47

lives? Dog food. D-A-W-G-Dog food. Dog food.

3:49

Okay, so it's named dog food. It's

3:51

not, you're not eating dog food. Okay,

3:53

okay, okay, but it is called dog food

3:55

and it's made for humans and

3:57

it's so brilliant because the packaging

3:59

looks... like dog food. It's so cute.

4:01

It's a giant bag like like and

4:04

you pour it like dog food. It's

4:06

a big bag of like chopped up

4:08

which is brilliant chopped up

4:10

chicken, sweet potatoes, sweet peas,

4:12

peas, and green beans and corn.

4:14

The only thing I don't love is

4:16

corn but it's okay you poop it

4:18

out whole which I saw on the

4:20

bowl. You know what I'm saying? And

4:22

they also have a beef version. And I

4:24

can't get enough of this stuff because

4:26

there's 45 grams of protein in each meal.

4:28

In the beef and 50 in the chicken. I've

4:31

been making my games. Oh, that's an insane

4:33

amount of protein. Yeah. My ass grew back.

4:35

Because I glowed it back. Because I glowed

4:37

it back. Because I lived heavy and I

4:39

left heavy and I get my protein in.

4:41

There is no change in my body. High

4:43

protein is really the secret. High protein and

4:45

fats. And fats. You need fats. You need

4:47

fats. Good fats. Cook it and gee butter.

4:49

there's the good fat right there. Yeah, I

4:52

have. Also I'm gonna add an avocado to

4:54

it as well. There's protein in my

4:56

coffee because my husband, brilliant. Oh,

4:58

thanks babe. I love you so much. I love

5:00

you. Thanks again on my protein in. That's

5:02

huge. I know, crazy. Don't remember don't

5:05

care who who remembers no one remembers?

5:07

No one remembers. See how that works

5:09

folks? You have a little scuffle and

5:11

you work it out immediately and look

5:14

you just feed her a little dog

5:16

food? Everyone's happy. Whoa, whoa, whoa, who

5:18

talks to my wife like that? He'd

5:20

rather get you. He'd rather get you.

5:23

And it's like a big bag of

5:25

frozen food, right? Yeah, so stays fresh

5:27

Yeah, and this is perfect for people

5:29

like on the go. We're really selling

5:32

the shit out. I swear to go,

5:34

we're not getting paid. They gave me a

5:36

couple codes. They did. I didn't. I don't

5:38

want to DM them. I need you to

5:40

know I love a dog food. Yeah. Thank

5:42

you so much. Appreciate you. Now I can

5:45

now I can get a little tiny bowl

5:47

of healthy cereal in at nighttime

5:49

because I'm making my gains and I'm

5:51

still under under calories. You're gonna use

5:53

little treats. Yeah, little treat. I'm running

5:55

a 5K. I gotta do that video

5:57

dude. I'm seeing everyone Ed Sheeran. I

6:00

did one. Ed Shear's is phenomenal. Oh, you're

6:02

loading your team. I want to know. I'm not up that

6:04

early, so I don't even know what you look at that one,

6:06

80. Last week, didn't want to do it. Now he's like,

6:08

I got to do it. I got to do it. Yeah.

6:10

Fellow ginger, baby. Right. See me, crawl out with my heatless

6:12

curls. I do it. See me, crawl out with my heatless

6:14

curls. I see me, see me, I want to see me, I

6:16

want to see me, I want to see me, I want to see me,

6:18

I want to see me, I want to see me, I want to see

6:21

me, I want to see me, I want to see me, I want

6:23

to see me, I want to, I want to see me, I want

6:25

to see me, I want to see me, I want to see me,

6:27

I want to, I want to, I want to, I want to, I

6:29

want to, I So I had a big long weekend.

6:31

Yeah, so you, this is a major

6:33

episode. We'll get into it now. Yeah,

6:35

let's get it over with. Yeah. You

6:38

know what's funny is my body

6:40

was warning me. My physical body

6:42

was giving me, was giving

6:44

me anxiety and panic all

6:46

week before the Billboard Women

6:49

and Music Awards. Body knows.

6:51

My body knew. And I didn't

6:53

even know. I was like, what's

6:55

the words that can happen? I'll

6:57

sound stupid in my speech. It was

6:59

from the heart. It was from the heart.

7:01

Oh my God. My trainer today asked

7:03

me. She was like, was that like

7:05

anxious thing like a bit, like acting? I

7:07

was like, ma'am, what? You were standing

7:09

up there like a baby bird. I

7:11

was like, I was naked on that. I

7:14

was like, oh. I just watch my speech.

7:16

I was like, so scared. Having a panic

7:18

attack. Having a panic attack. Having a panic

7:21

attack. And the whole night sitting at the

7:23

table, I was like this, like so scared.

7:25

Like, I don't want to go up there. What

7:27

am I going to say that's going to

7:30

matter? You were having imposter syndrome?

7:32

I was having imposter syndrome. I

7:34

was like, why am I severe

7:36

social anxiety? I was like, I was

7:38

going to make a friend. And they're

7:40

like, you got to make a friend.

7:42

like say hi again I got to see

7:44

Madison Beer I love her I got to

7:46

see Zara Larson I love her Victoria Monet

7:48

I made friends with her and I love

7:50

her so that was cool it did make friends

7:53

we should point out that Madison Beer had

7:55

the best like opening speech for you oh

7:57

yeah she brought yes to this this was

7:59

huge I believe she did that. It

8:01

was incredible. Almost brought a tear to

8:03

my eye. Me too. It was so nice from the heart.

8:06

She's an angel and she pretty much

8:08

just said, you're an angel. So I love

8:10

you Madison. Thank you so much. That was

8:13

incredible. like I was really worried

8:15

about my outfit, we had three different

8:17

fittings. I was gonna say they're gonna

8:19

wear something else. I was gonna wear

8:21

a long tight tight dress that was

8:23

like showing my belly button and my

8:26

whole stomach and I didn't feel confident

8:28

enough about that and then I didn't

8:30

feel confident enough about that and then

8:32

when I sat it felt like it

8:34

was going to walk up the stairs

8:36

and get I was I would have

8:38

been a little penguin trying to get

8:40

up there and I was like I

8:42

was like more revealing down low but

8:44

like closed up up here which I

8:46

really felt comfortable in and I was like

8:48

okay I feel comfortable and I need I'm

8:50

so worried already about this event so I

8:52

want to be as comfortable as possible so

8:54

they were like yes let's wear this one

8:56

I did a whole photo shoot at the

8:58

house before it was amazing I felt so

9:01

beautiful like a princess and I was like

9:03

you know what maybe tonight will be a

9:05

great night and then I got to the

9:07

event and I started the red carpet which

9:09

was light blue and it was beautiful and

9:11

it was all women but every

9:13

single interview I had the

9:16

main question was you look so

9:18

fit you look so different you look

9:20

different you look different you

9:22

look different um what's your secret

9:25

every single every single interview

9:27

to the point where I was

9:29

like were they set up of like

9:32

when you get Megan say what's your

9:34

secret you know like talk about your

9:36

body they all said this

9:38

like different interview down the line

9:40

And then I started getting sad and

9:42

I was like, I'm here for an award

9:44

that I got, you know, like... For

9:47

writing songs and performing songs. Because my

9:49

team was like, don't have imposter syndrome,

9:51

like you're Megan Trainer, like you worked

9:53

your ass off for this. This is

9:56

your reward for 10 years of hard

9:58

work. And I'm like, I have a... bad feeling

10:00

it's not going to be about that. And

10:02

they're like, this is going to be

10:04

a great night of just enjoying. I was

10:06

like, okay, immediately when I got there, I

10:09

felt uncomfortable immediately doing interviews. I was like,

10:11

you want to talk about my body? I got

10:13

new boobs. What do you want to talk about?

10:15

You know? And I have been working so

10:17

hard on my health ever since I

10:19

was pregnant. My first pregnancy, I had

10:22

gestational diabetes. I had gestational diabetes. Like

10:24

I knew. I wasn't my healthiest. It was

10:26

going into COVID. I gained 15

10:28

pounds and then I got pregnant.

10:30

I felt awful. I felt horrible.

10:32

And I looked like I was struggling.

10:34

Like I looked sad. We look in pictures

10:37

and I'm like, oh, she was... not

10:39

happy and I was not. And my

10:41

pregnancy was scary because I had gestational

10:43

diabetes and I was like, oh no.

10:45

So that was the first time I

10:48

had to really diet and learn what

10:50

foods shocked my blood sugar and like

10:52

spiked it. And I learned tricks. That

10:54

was not a fun game. Five years

10:56

ago. And that's not even a diet

10:59

that is a health conscious pivot. I

11:01

need to eat. differently so not even

11:03

it wasn't even eating less it was

11:06

just eating like more whole foods I

11:08

had to learn things no one taught us

11:10

like I had to learn about carbs I

11:12

had to learn about fats I had to

11:15

learn about it just oh it's lunch

11:17

time let's have a fucking turkey club

11:19

with a back of chips and a

11:21

soda like a chips and a soda

11:24

like a chips and a soda like

11:26

that's lunch I'm Capricorn what I will

11:28

do the most I'm Capricorn what I

11:30

will I'm cap did with my eating.

11:33

And I was like, I'm restricting myself

11:35

too much that it's actually worse for

11:37

me. It was a nightmare. So anyways,

11:39

the day I found that I figured

11:41

out that breakfast, I remember, I

11:43

felt amazing. Darryl has been by

11:46

my side through all of this.

11:48

And then I got a dietitian after

11:50

that pregnancy and I lost all my

11:52

baby weight and then some. And I

11:54

was like, oh, I'm learning the science

11:56

of food. Food is food. Food is

11:59

fuel. And it. but like also use

12:01

it as a tool to help like

12:03

grow your hair and help have

12:05

your poops be better because I

12:08

wasn't pooping every day. and then

12:10

I lost all that weight then I

12:12

got pregnant again and then I got

12:14

sciatica and all my body started to

12:16

hurt again and so then I started

12:18

losing the weight again but because you

12:20

worked out so hard in between yep I

12:22

got an amazing trainer Rebecca she's this

12:24

is all in my pregnancy book and

12:27

you want to check it out you

12:29

didn't get gestational diabetes I didn't get

12:31

it the second time so I saw

12:33

like oh improving your health can make

12:35

life easier and less stressful and

12:37

I saw the benefits of working

12:40

out and pushing weight and lifting

12:42

weight and I wanted to get

12:44

back to feeling how I did when I

12:46

did the made you look music video.

12:49

Yeah, healthier and like I could stand

12:51

all day long and not be

12:53

exhausted, more energy. Yeah. you were just

12:55

you were plateaued I remember I remember

12:57

I was watching because I was like

13:00

you had two personal trainers at that

13:02

point I was doing 70 hard 75

13:04

hard wasn't working that's why you know

13:06

I was like oh no truly the second

13:08

time because we did 75 hard after Riley

13:11

was born and man did we crush

13:13

we crushed and then we heard more and

13:15

more of our friends and even our

13:17

doctors were on Monjaro and Ozimpic

13:20

and all these. So Monjaro

13:22

is like an alternate to Ozimpic

13:24

or it's in the same family?

13:27

I was taught. G.L.P. 1, it's

13:29

just a different, it's just a

13:31

different brand and there are

13:33

a bunch of different brands

13:35

that work for different people.

13:38

This one, this one had

13:40

less side effects. Because I

13:42

was like, I was hearing about

13:44

the side effects and I did

13:46

the research. felt safe knowing that

13:48

my doctor did it as well. So, um, so

13:50

I did it too. So, Darrell and I both

13:52

do everything together. And we started

13:55

that. Because I also gained some

13:57

pregnancy weight. Shout out to

13:59

Chipotle. things a lot. So we

14:01

start there's different milligrams and we

14:03

start we started at 2.5 the

14:06

lowest dose and the the most

14:08

we've gone up to is 5

14:10

but I'm down still at 2.5

14:12

that seems to work the best

14:14

for me because I didn't want

14:16

to lose it so fast overnight.

14:18

Yeah. Well there's I mean we

14:21

learned we've been on this journey

14:23

for a while and and we

14:25

learned like how there are right ways to

14:27

do it and there are yeah I know

14:29

people who have been on this drug and

14:32

haven't lost weight so you have to put

14:34

in the work as well yeah you have

14:36

to work out and eat yeah that's what

14:38

we were like we have to make

14:40

sure we don't lose muscle that we

14:42

work so hard gaining all those years

14:44

and like we stay in the gym

14:47

we work out we eat right and we just

14:49

noticed that we were less hungry

14:51

or we were less like as soon

14:53

as I would understand Because we

14:55

did a lot of research and

14:57

everyone talked about this thing called

14:59

food noise and I didn't understand

15:02

what that was. Didn't know I

15:04

had it. Until I didn't have

15:06

it. I'm also a big placebo

15:08

guy so I felt like I felt affects

15:10

the first day. But yeah, the food noise.

15:12

I was like, wow. I have energy. For

15:14

me, especially after getting sober, my addiction

15:17

became food. So like all day long

15:19

I would think about food. Yeah, but

15:21

I feel like even before that. I

15:23

feel like y'all would eat emotionally. Yeah,

15:26

big emotionally. But post, but yeah, with

15:28

emotional eating. So like, oh, you did

15:30

a great job. Let's feast. Oh, we're

15:32

upset because this happened? Let's feast. Yes.

15:35

I feel like it eliminates that. I

15:37

learned with my dietitian, like, it doesn't have

15:39

to be a meal to be a reward. It could be like

15:41

a great experience or a movie or something. I was like, oh,

15:43

I just assumed like food, like a bucket of dirty food. Oh,

15:45

but popcorn so good. And then I was like, why don't I

15:48

have all these stomach aches every time I eat? And why, like,

15:50

like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,

15:52

like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,

15:54

like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,

15:56

like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,

15:58

like, like, like, like, like, like, like, Like I'm still

16:00

learning tricks like the last episode

16:03

where Megumi takes little bites and

16:05

chews and like there's whole methods

16:07

to it and I was like

16:09

that's brilliant that's the stuff I

16:11

wish I learned in middle school I

16:13

wish in middle school they teach you

16:15

here's what protein is like I'm trying

16:17

to teach my four-year-old like what's

16:19

that chicken mean what is that? He's

16:21

like it's protein and I'm like yeah and

16:24

that gives you energy and muscles and

16:26

that like I wish we learned that.

16:28

and friends about the sleepless nights, the

17:11

lessons learned, and the laser focus that

17:13

got them to where they are today.

17:15

And through it all, I'm building a

17:17

business of my own and getting all

17:20

sorts of practical advice along the way

17:22

that I'm so excited to share with

17:24

you. Confessions of a female founder is

18:24

pop culture debates with your friends,

18:26

but I know you didn't have

18:29

me weighing in with a verdict.

18:31

I'm Ronald Young Jr. And as

18:33

the host of Pop Culture Debate

18:35

Club, I'm here to listen to

18:38

the arguments, ask some questions, and

18:40

ultimately, pick a winner. Listen to

18:49

So all these like tricks and

18:51

like ways of eating like animal

18:53

style and keto and blah blah

18:55

could be great for one person

18:57

and horrific for another person. Yes.

18:59

So you really have to and

19:02

that's I wish it was like as

19:04

simple as like oh eat this lifestyle

19:06

and you'll be great. I'm like no

19:08

I have to like. I found out

19:10

with many doctors, like I can't have

19:13

certain vegetables or else I'll be gassy

19:15

and bloated and have stink farts for

19:17

like a week, you know. So I

19:19

had to really take years. I've been

19:22

doing this for years, five years now

19:24

on learning exactly what my

19:26

body likes and doesn't like. And

19:28

luckily, my body did well on Manjaro

19:31

because I have a lot of friends

19:33

come up to me and they're like,

19:35

oh, I... had a mental breakdown on

19:38

manjaro or that didn't work for

19:40

me at all or you know so

19:42

it was five years in total

19:44

of studying what you should put

19:46

in your body what food my

19:49

body could handle what I'm a

19:51

recent journey recent journey yeah

19:53

after my second pregnancy

19:55

got it and I I finally poop

19:58

every day unbelievable Like

20:00

this manjaro I think helped

20:02

my inflammation like crazy and

20:04

I think I think it

20:06

helped my metabolism a lot

20:08

because I wasn't pooping every

20:11

day and it did do that thing

20:13

at first where it constipate you because

20:15

you eat less but you have you

20:17

have to see what dose that's why

20:19

I'm on the lowest because if I

20:21

go any higher I will not eat.

20:24

I will not be hungry. I can work

20:26

out harder, I feel amazing. Like

20:28

this thing is incredible and I

20:30

have no shame being on it and

20:33

talking about it. Listen. No one

20:35

ever asked. All my interviews were

20:37

just like, what's your secret? Yeah.

20:39

What's your little, like they were

20:41

trying to get me. And I was

20:43

like, I don't owe you anything. And

20:46

I don't have to say anything

20:48

to anyone. Like I am an

20:50

open book. I tell everybody, everything.

20:52

But I don't have to. That is

20:54

like a. That's a nice thing. I think

20:56

it was a combo between the interviews

20:58

and then you did sit down and read

21:00

all the comments. Here's what happened. Yeah.

21:02

All my comments were lovely on my

21:05

page. My Instagram is a safe place

21:07

and I thank you for that. I

21:09

went to entertainment's Instagram and I saw

21:11

the interview they posted and all the

21:13

comments were, Ozepi, Ozepi, ew, what

21:16

an ugly monster. You would a

21:18

clown outfit. Her stylus hates hates

21:20

her. The one that really hurt

21:22

was... Megan Babes, you're just a

21:24

walking nose at this point. And

21:26

I was like, oh, that's what

21:28

I look at too. You know,

21:30

like, I'm insecure. That's what I

21:32

must have secured. And I was

21:34

in a session with Emily Bear,

21:36

shout out, and my good friend

21:38

Cole, and it was two strong

21:40

women, my besties. And I'm telling

21:42

them about my experience, how everyone

21:44

just wanted to talk about my body.

21:46

And I was like, we're not here about my

21:48

body. I'm here about my music. Pretty crazy at

21:51

a women's event for every woman to

21:53

just be asking about other women's bodies. Pretty

21:55

crazy. Anyway, so I'm telling them about it

21:57

and I'm reading these comments and I go,

21:59

oh. Oh my god, these are all

22:01

bad. Well, I'll probably find the

22:03

good soon. I started reading them

22:06

out loud. There's not one nice

22:08

comment. And it was all mean. And

22:10

it was like, you're not Megan

22:12

Trainer anymore. Like, I hate you. Like,

22:15

the meanest things I've ever been told.

22:17

And I just looked up and I

22:19

just started sobbing. And Emily saw me

22:22

like. go into a tsunami of sadness

22:24

and she she goes no no no

22:26

no no no no and she jumped

22:29

on me and started hugging me and

22:31

my two girls were hugging me and

22:33

they were like you're okay you are

22:36

beautiful did not listen to these comments

22:38

and I was like but lint liquor

22:40

for four four seven and I'm a

22:42

walking nose and I they were like

22:45

but that's lint liquor yeah I was

22:47

like I know but that hurts like

22:49

and I've just felt like a 13

22:51

year old girl being bullied out loud

22:53

in front of my whole class again

22:55

like Instagram savage. She was a nightmare.

22:57

It's the worst. Instagram was my safe

22:59

place and I and I immediately like text

23:01

to Chris also like I'm sorry if you

23:04

ever feel like this all the time because

23:06

this was a bad day for me. And

23:08

I started so I'm okay now I started

23:10

sobbing and luckily if I didn't have my

23:12

girls there with me like holding me. I

23:14

was like oh no there are nice people

23:16

in the world and you I'm the world

23:18

and you I'm okay I'm okay. And then

23:21

later I was so frustrated, I was like,

23:23

everyone's just calling me Ozempi, Ozempi,

23:25

and I'm just gonna explain my

23:27

journey with my health in an Instagram

23:29

post, and I'm never gonna talk to

23:31

them about it ever again on my

23:34

social media. Like, I'll talk about it on

23:36

the podcast with my brother and my

23:38

husband, my safe place, but like, everyone.

23:40

Leave me alone. Or stop talking about my

23:42

body. I'm gonna write the best fucking pop

23:44

song anthem over. Yeah. Don't talk about my

23:46

fucking body. Like 10 years later. And you're

23:49

not alone with that, dude. It's, I feel

23:51

like everyone talks about everyone's body.

23:53

I mean, I just didn't know it was

23:55

happening and now I know like it's bad. The

23:57

Queen herself, when we, when we started

23:59

looking. into doing this. I just,

24:01

I went on Hulu, there's a

24:04

great documentary that Oprah did about

24:06

it. Yeah, we actually did it once

24:08

Oprah said it. We watched that and

24:11

we watched, yeah. She's just, she's the

24:13

goat and that's all, just watch

24:15

that. I love Oprah. Yeah, love Oprah.

24:17

Yeah. Thank you. The idea, like

24:19

unfortunately for you. with that song,

24:21

they only see you as that. Like it's

24:24

been, yes, it's been 10 years. Bro, I

24:26

wrote that when I was 18 years old.

24:28

I'm 31. You're 31 years old. My

24:30

manager was so mad because she's like,

24:32

me four years ago didn't do

24:35

my eyebrows right. So like, I'm

24:37

a different human now because I

24:39

paint my face differently. brand new

24:41

batch of cells every seven years.

24:43

I am literally not that human

24:45

being. Not to bring it back

24:47

to me, but you think I'm still

24:50

a spy kid? Yeah, you're spy man.

24:52

I'm a spy man. And you can

24:54

still be body positive. Yeah. And

24:56

you don't have to look a certain

24:58

way. The comments now are like,

25:00

okay, she's not about the bass.

25:02

That's not true. Not true. I

25:04

love bass. I love my song.

25:06

I love my message. I love

25:08

helping people with my music. That's

25:10

so sick. Because I still, I

25:13

lost, I lost all this way.

25:15

I still am the most insecure

25:17

person. But and I still need

25:19

these songs for myself for more

25:21

and more. Yeah. And I feel

25:23

you created. Is this not your dream?

25:25

Is this not your dream? No, I am

25:27

so faint. Don't let the internet break your

25:30

dream apart. I was feeling so good. That's

25:32

what was sad. I thought my photo shoot

25:34

was like, oh my God, like. Like 13

25:36

year old me is high fiving me like you're

25:38

crushing it. Mama you got the tits of your

25:41

dreams and you look like your dream and I've

25:43

been high-fiving myself every day. I'm so healthy. Little

25:45

Ryan has been high-fiving me every day recently. I

25:47

did a Dexter scan I did a blood test like

25:49

I'm gonna live forever and that's my goal and I

25:51

just I'm so proud of myself. Far too long I

25:53

don't want to do that. And you will because I'll force

25:55

you too. I'll. I'll keep you too. I'll keep you too. I'll keep

25:57

you too. I'll keep you too. I'll keep you too. I'll keep you too.

26:00

I just want a human experience

26:02

and I get to go, dude,

26:04

dad, we're talking to dad. He

26:06

did some fucking app analyzing

26:09

thing where you like plug

26:11

in all your details and

26:13

it's like, you'll live till

26:15

89. And they're like, 89.

26:17

And he's like, Jesus. Well,

26:19

that's not long enough. I need

26:21

96 at least. And he goes, no,

26:24

no, no. getting old hurts. Hurts. It's

26:26

just in pain. I mean I'm 31

26:28

and my neck really, really is not

26:30

comfortable and I got my first chiropractor

26:33

session the other day and it was

26:35

incredible. Yeah, have fun of

26:37

95. Yes. So like I'm working on

26:39

being my best self and I did

26:41

a post about it and a lot

26:43

of people appreciated it. But you deserve

26:46

happiness. Stop talking about my

26:48

fucking body. Stop talking about my

26:50

body and Megan. Let's just stop

26:52

reading the comments. Yeah, I'm done. This

26:54

is I mean, that's the unfortunate thing

26:57

because you want to stay close to

26:59

your fans, right? But the minute you're

27:01

on these apps, it's just a nightmare.

27:03

Bloodbath out there. But like you said,

27:05

your Instagram, maybe as long as you

27:07

stand, your Instagram is a safe space

27:10

for you. Yeah, it's when I went

27:12

to the other one. So I was

27:14

like, oh no. And you know, it's

27:16

funny, my manager, Sally, she's

27:18

my bestie, she got honored that

27:20

night too. So it really, shout

27:22

out Sally. Very probably. I didn't

27:24

want anything to ruin that night

27:26

for her. And like. It just

27:28

bothers me so much that we were

27:30

there to talk about your achievements and

27:32

like why are they talking about your outfit

27:35

and your body? And I was like, what's

27:37

happening? Yeah, so that I was just,

27:39

that's what I started just scrolling and

27:41

was like, oh, there's me on anything.

27:43

Oh my God. And I was like,

27:45

Sally, is this what you're talking about?

27:47

And she was like, get off the phone. And

27:50

I was like, you got me here.

27:52

Also, randomly, I think dad. Did we

27:54

talk about dad's cutting of a sweatshirt

27:56

recently? Yeah. Okay, he comes in, I'm

27:59

in the studio. singing he comes in

28:01

he goes two things out of nowhere I'm

28:03

like hey dad he goes two things one

28:05

I cut my sweatshirt right here because

28:07

when I put my sweatshirt on my

28:10

nose it is so uncomfortable because my

28:12

nose is big and it doesn't

28:14

pull through and it was also big

28:16

and it doesn't pull through and

28:18

it was also because I told him

28:21

like people are making fun of me

28:23

because I'm skinny with a big

28:25

nose and he was like that's why

28:27

I cut my sweats I'm sorry

28:29

That's so sweet and sad. You look

28:32

so cool. I love you. Yeah,

28:34

let me tell you something. Yeah, and

28:36

then he was like also I

28:38

got you a new ruler like

28:40

Meamie a measuring stick. I love

28:43

that man. I love that man.

28:45

I love that he can't just

28:47

like put on a sweatshirt a

28:50

different way. It's not yeah He's

28:52

like I'm sick of pulling it

28:54

down and it doesn't fit so

28:56

I cut him and I'll accept

28:59

it Yeah, the one thing I've noticed

29:01

and liked about this for you

29:03

guys is like the food noise

29:05

at night specifically, because eating before

29:07

bedtime, I'm telling you, it's the

29:09

worst thing for you. And we still do

29:11

it, but we have tricks now. But

29:13

the portion control and like... I

29:16

had no portion control. Zero. Late

29:18

at night, right? You just go to

29:20

town. No, no, no, all day. I

29:22

was doing two rib eyes a day.

29:25

He would eat healthy foods, quote unquote,

29:27

but his portion was cheesecake potter. You

29:29

know what I'm saying? Right, right. Or

29:31

like the rice covered the entire

29:33

year. Which you can have, weren't

29:35

so a while, you could treat

29:38

yourself. I know, and I've learned

29:40

so much about portions that I'm

29:42

like, remember how big your stomach

29:44

is? You know, like, and I don't

29:46

know how big your stomach is. You

29:49

know, like, and I don't know how

29:51

big your stomach is. There's portion sizes

29:53

that are ridiculous. Book it at papa.

29:55

Love you. Yeah, but the portion sizes. You go

29:57

to, it's the size of the plates, dude. You go

29:59

to. Italy, the plates are tiny. And you go

30:02

out to dinner here, giant plate. So make yourself

30:04

a small plate. I learned all these little tricks

30:06

that have changed my life. I literally bought smaller

30:08

plates if you noticed. And I always, when he

30:10

makes like steak with rice, I get the little

30:12

plate because I'm like, no, you can't put that

30:15

too much rice on there. You know what I

30:17

mean? Because he will dump it. Not anymore. Just

30:19

dog food, dog food, dog food, dog

30:21

food, dog food. Just give me a bowl.

30:23

I'm obsessed now with science though of like

30:25

I'm trying to learn how to when I

30:27

when I work out and build muscle you

30:29

have to eat protein or else it's not

30:31

going to do anything. And I'm like so

30:34

I'm wasting my time in the gym. So

30:36

I'm really proud of myself for learning. It

30:38

was really hard to do and I'm

30:40

just going to keep getting better and

30:42

keep getting stronger, achieved things I

30:44

never thought I could achieve. I could achieve.

30:46

No one can stop me. Not

30:49

even mean comments. Also, I

30:51

got an audition right after I

30:53

posted that. So pretty sick for like

30:55

a big show. So I hope I

30:57

get it. I hope I'm an actor

31:00

soon and I sent it in today.

31:02

I'm so excited. I am an actress.

31:04

I'm gonna get it. Yeah, you've,

31:07

you've, I've watched you work so

31:09

hard. Yeah, soft, dude. In music

31:11

and in fitness. I, I, I walk

31:13

in a gym and I see what

31:15

you're doing. I'm like. I can't believe

31:17

my sister. I would have never imagined

31:19

this growing old. I thought I was

31:22

going to be the only gym bro

31:24

in the family. Because like, yeah,

31:26

we didn't even have- She's more of

31:28

a gym bro than I am now.

31:30

We didn't even have parents that would

31:32

tell. She's my inspiration. She like got

31:34

me to get in the gym. Well,

31:36

you got me the amazing trainer,

31:38

Bella, malleable bodies. I tagged her.

31:41

She's so funny. We do connect in

31:43

the gym. We do connect in the gym.

31:45

And now we're inspiring another

31:47

couple along the way. Yeah, brother

31:49

Justin. Oh, really? My younger brother,

31:51

he had sciatica just like me. We

31:54

have like a lot of pain in

31:56

our bodies and so I'm trying

31:58

to do everything to know. not be

32:00

inflamed and to stretch and

32:02

work on my body. And I

32:05

noticed like when I get stronger,

32:07

my pain goes away more too.

32:09

And so I was working out

32:11

with Bella who she like, she

32:13

knows all about sciatica, she knows

32:15

about pain, knows how to work out

32:17

around your pain and make you, and

32:19

work out around your pain and

32:21

make you stronger. Oh, she didn't

32:23

work out around your pain and

32:25

make you stronger. Oh, she didn't

32:27

work out around your pain and feel

32:30

better if I have. And so I

32:32

was like, I'd like to give you a

32:34

wedding gift and I'd like to pay for

32:36

some sessions with my trainer. Nice.

32:38

And of course, Justin, he's the

32:40

best. He goes, yeah, I love that.

32:43

Thank you. I appreciate that so much.

32:45

Can my wife join? Oh, here's a

32:47

gift. Can you double it? And I

32:49

was like, of course, like, yeah, my

32:51

love. Thanks for the gift. Double it.

32:54

Double it. Double or nothing. Yeah. But

32:57

I thought it was brilliant. I was like,

32:59

yeah, I can't work out without my husband

33:01

So yes, of course you could double it

33:03

and join us and like I want to

33:05

give the gift of health to people so

33:07

bad You know, I want to take someday.

33:10

I'll take what I've learned and Spread it

33:12

in a book or something or in a? a

33:14

YouTube channel of workouts. Oh, it's gonna be sick

33:16

an app. Oh my god. Yeah, very proud

33:18

of you. Thank you for my trainer You're

33:21

welcome. Yeah, I do not miss

33:23

her. Yeah, she is so funny. That's

33:25

why I love her because she jokes

33:27

a lot with Darryl and she's

33:29

like, I'm like, why do I

33:31

have to do this? And she's

33:34

like, because I hate you. Yeah,

33:36

no, I do miss that, but

33:38

the physical. All right, say when

33:40

I get a roll and I

33:42

got to be fit as fuck,

33:44

I'm going back to Bella because

33:46

I was like, you're killing me.

33:48

She's like, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They're

33:50

feeling a bitch. Yeah, she's like, what?

33:52

Are you soft? Life is easy. Making so

33:54

much noise ago. You're killing me. Oh,

33:57

I was screaming today. She had me

33:59

doing that. a vest on, a weighted vest,

34:01

and some sort of hang for a

34:03

minute straight. He was just hanging and

34:05

he was kicking his feet going, no! I

34:07

was like, you got it. She's like punching

34:09

my stomach to make sure my abs

34:12

are on. Yeah, and he like dropped down

34:14

to cheat when she looked over at me. Yeah,

34:16

oh, I cheated all the time. He goes, he

34:18

was like, are you fucking? I mean, the equinox,

34:20

I go, look at that guy. I take a

34:22

break. How are you going to achieve anything

34:24

in life if you cheat? Like, she just

34:26

hits you with bars. She's great. You

34:28

don't feel what I feel. Yeah. And you

34:30

have kids to take care of after.

34:32

I just have to share my son.

34:35

I was like, I can't do

34:37

anything today. Oh man. That's what

34:39

I was talking about. My speech

34:41

that I hope anyone heard is

34:43

like, it's so lonely being a woman

34:45

in this industry, but also being

34:48

a mama. And like, I go

34:50

sing all day and then I

34:52

go white poop butts, you know.

34:54

I feel like I mean, I mean,

34:56

I saw. a lot of people saying

34:58

just like moms in general are also

35:00

lonely they're just like I'm lonely a

35:02

mom yeah so it's not even just

35:04

pop stars just moms in general like

35:06

I need more mom friends yeah it's

35:08

crazy kids are crazy we love them

35:11

we love them we love them they're

35:13

so cute they're so good three more

35:15

shows huh three more shows uh three more shows

35:17

oh the door club Chris tour it's over

35:19

we could do it is nice text today he

35:22

did read it out loud he well no he

35:24

sent me the viral clip of

35:26

the girl in Boston singing the

35:28

Livia Rodrigo. And he was like,

35:30

he's like, this is the most viewed

35:33

and liked clip from the entire

35:35

tour. Shut up. I am so proud

35:37

of you. Or he was like, you should

35:39

be proud of yourself. I was like,

35:41

you know what? I am proud of

35:43

both of us. We did this. I

35:45

can't believe it was thrown into, it

35:47

was just like a, ah, try this

35:49

out. We did nothing and turned

35:51

it into something. I was like,

35:53

we pulled it off. You took dust and

35:55

you made into a trophy. We took a

35:57

little fun. I'm going to make a choice.

35:59

I'm gonna be on the stage all

36:02

night. You're gonna have to

36:04

push me off. It's coming. But

36:06

we really did it, man. You did.

36:08

I can't wait to see the

36:10

show. I have zero spoilers. I mean,

36:12

it's gonna be so fresh. And

36:15

he wants to rehearse with me

36:17

so bad because we're singing like,

36:19

I'm gonna lose you. Don't miss

36:21

it. And I'm gonna be on

36:23

the stage all night. You're gonna

36:25

have to push me off. And

36:27

I keep going like. Yeah. We don't

36:30

need rehearsals, you know? He's like,

36:32

hey, please rehearsal me. I'm like, I have

36:34

things to do. Like, we'll be fine. Like,

36:36

I'll see you at SoundCheck. Yeah. He's like,

36:38

I think this will be out after the

36:41

LA show. Oh, we killed it. We killed it,

36:43

right? We were so good. No, I want you

36:45

to come up, both of y'all come out. at

36:47

the first course of Africa Dabras.

36:49

So there's like a, there's

36:51

like a, there's like a,

36:53

there's like 45 seconds to

36:56

a minute. And that's when I'll

36:58

just like, I intro the, yes.

37:00

Just look, just go like this,

37:02

look to the size, put your

37:04

arms out and then go, skie-kie,

37:06

you know, come here. And then come

37:08

here. And they come out. Fours on

37:11

fire. I'm gonna lose my shit.

37:13

I'm gonna probably like, yeah. I got

37:15

the ons, I got the ons. Aren't they

37:17

the best? They're great, I have one little

37:19

thing though. It does something weird with my

37:22

ankle, it's a weird fit. I started feeling

37:24

pain in my ankle. Uh-oh. So I might

37:26

need to try a different version of ours.

37:28

Let me see, I gotta see what time

37:30

you got. The hat's sick, dude. I know,

37:32

I've been waiting for my hat, I gotta

37:35

wait till Saturday. And I go try to get

37:37

it from the merch, just, just tell

37:39

me how much, pay for me how much, pay

37:41

for it, pay for it. I forgot a

37:43

green eyes. Color blind. Do you

37:45

ever get hit with a cringy

37:47

memory of your 13-year-old

37:49

self out of nowhere? And

37:52

some of your panic sweating and

37:54

laughing at the same time? Don't

37:56

worry, don't worry, don't worry, we

37:59

all get... that. It's because being

38:01

an adolescent is one of

38:03

the most visceral shared experiences

38:05

we have as people. And we

38:07

want to talk about it. Join

38:10

me, Penn Badgerley, and my two

38:12

friends, Navv and Sophie, on Podcrushed

38:14

as we interview celebrity guests about

38:16

the joys and horrors of

38:18

being a teenager and how those moments

38:20

made them who they are today.

38:22

New episodes of Podcrush are

38:25

out now, wherever you get your

38:27

podcasts. We have like a G.T.

38:29

themed voicemel actually want to play.

38:31

I just. The theme. Yeah, I

38:33

just saw this. Let's get this

38:35

a go. Working on a hotline,

38:37

661463. Hey, Bessie, that's Mariegan.

38:40

I was calling, I've been watching

38:42

Ryan's blogs, like family blogs, and

38:44

I'm sad to say I am

38:47

G.T. Biggest. I want to be

38:49

G.T. When I wrote. He is

38:51

so cool. I am actually working

38:54

on getting married, planning a wedding.

38:56

So we recently picked our songs

38:58

for our ceremony and the song

39:01

that I'm walking down the aisle

39:03

too is, Marry Me? My marriage

39:05

trainer. And we're so excited,

39:07

we're getting married in Gatlinburg

39:09

next year. And I'm just

39:11

trying to figure out what

39:13

a girl's got to do

39:15

to have Megan there. So

39:17

let me know. Have a great

39:20

day guys. Sorry for

39:22

laughing. Sorry. Don't laugh.

39:24

You know what I'm

39:26

thinking. First of all, I

39:29

couldn't hear where

39:31

the wedding was. Gattenberg.

39:34

Gattlenburg. Maybe G.T. should

39:37

go. G. G.T. G.

39:39

G. G. G. G. G.

39:42

G. G. G. Go. That's

39:44

I was like. I was

39:46

like. He was a. the flu

39:48

ones and still perform

39:50

for them. Michael Jordan.

39:53

Yeah. Michael Jordan of

39:55

weddings. Is our father.

39:57

I think you have to call

39:59

back. and give us all your

40:01

wedding details and we'll get, we'll

40:04

just ship him out there. He's

40:06

retired. Yeah, people now on the

40:09

club, Chris Tour, they're like, can

40:11

you teach him my wedding? Oh, no

40:13

way. No, I cannot. Kind of wanna.

40:15

Yeah, you should. Could be funny.

40:17

Maybe if it's something close. I

40:20

can't fly anywhere to do it.

40:22

But, unless it was somewhere

40:24

I was going on, maybe. a

40:27

vacation or something we figure it

40:29

out. Megumi does want to see

40:31

all these historical places in random

40:34

spots. But yeah, you just got a

40:36

play shout, the wedding crashes. Yeah, you know,

40:38

you make me want a shot. You know

40:40

what else happened to me in the

40:43

same day of all this, um,

40:45

the bad billboard comments while I

40:47

was crying. Uh, my amazing assistant,

40:49

Zena walked in with Darryl, and

40:51

they got down low, and they said,

40:53

hey, you have jury duty next week.

40:55

Good news! Cherry dude, it's frightening days.

40:57

You wake up really early, every day, wait for a

41:00

call. See if you get the call. I've never

41:02

done this. My first time, 31 years. Actually,

41:04

you do get a call and they go, you

41:06

are not needed today. And I was like, thank

41:08

you. Yeah, Sally, my manager was like, just get

41:10

up at 530 and call. And I was like, what?

41:12

Oh yeah, that's what you have to do. You

41:15

have to call them. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, but I

41:17

just know that if you get called in, you're going

41:19

to be... You're going to love it. You're going to

41:21

be so happy. He's like, it's going to be a

41:23

murder mystery. And I was like, no, it's not. No, no,

41:25

it's going to be a parking ticket, but yeah. Entertaining?

41:27

You get to watch people. I'm fine. I know my

41:29

duties. I'm fine. I know my duties. I know my duties.

41:31

Getting getting to go to court, you. I'm fine. I'm fine.

41:33

I'm getting to go to go to going to. I'm getting.

41:35

I'm going to going to. I'm going to. I'm going to.

41:38

I'm going to. I'm going to. I'm going to. I'm going

41:40

to. I'm going to. I'm going to. I'm going to. I'm going

41:42

to. I'm going to. I'm going to. I'm going to. I'm

41:44

going to. I'm going to. I'm going to And shows

41:46

up. Oprah. Right, that's why I

41:48

was like, they're like, put your

41:50

man in jail. And I was

41:52

like, no, dude. Oprah was there,

41:54

like, recently. So I'm going.

41:57

What else is going on? I, uh, I've,

41:59

I'm, I'm. getting back to

42:01

work I have a new

42:04

co-manager oh so get ready

42:06

to see me on TV

42:08

Jesus Christ yeah getting

42:11

ready he's getting

42:13

gigs wait you see me

42:15

on the big screen yeah

42:17

he's getting gigs just like

42:19

me we audition for the

42:22

same show now who are

42:24

we it's not the same

42:26

What am I doing? Finishing up

42:29

the club first one? Finishing up

42:31

the tour and then I'm trying

42:33

to figure out what to do

42:35

next after that. I would love to

42:38

get back in a Lee's class. I

42:40

don't know if she has any more

42:42

lines. Oh. Yeah, you should get back

42:44

in the Lee's class. I'm gonna get

42:46

back in the Lee's class with you.

42:48

I'm due for another. And you know

42:50

what? We should get Lee on

42:53

the podcast and talk all about

42:55

my vagina. I'm down because what's

42:57

going on with me is apparently very

42:59

common and no one talks about it.

43:01

And I'm willing to talk about it.

43:03

Let's go. With my brother and my

43:06

husband. Good stuff. She was at my

43:08

house today and she was stoked. Also,

43:10

she was doing some therapy on me. White

43:12

Lotus is getting good. I'm trying to

43:14

rewatch it now with Megumi. I want

43:16

her caught up so we can finish

43:19

it together. Oh my God, you haven't seen

43:21

the latest. And she is

43:23

just, Darryl, bro. I'm yelling,

43:25

I go, sit up, sit

43:27

up. It's 7.30 p.m. Down.

43:29

What time does Mugu mean

43:31

we go? Six thirty. It

43:34

was seven 30 p.m. Okay.

43:36

I mean, this is 12

43:38

or 6. She's up. Come

43:40

on, I'm up, I'm up

43:42

at 7.30. It's 7.30. When

43:44

the clock strikes 9,

43:47

goodbye. Yeah, yeah, 9

43:49

is reasonable. But I was

43:51

like, 7.30. I got the red light, you got

43:53

to do the red light. I know, but I can't

43:55

tell like what I'm looking at. Oh, it

43:57

doesn't matter. Also, he doesn't carry color blind.

44:00

Yeah. Hold it down with your

44:02

wife. I do. A blue waffle

44:04

maker, you know. Can't have that.

44:06

I actually made my t-shirt

44:08

with the red light on.

44:10

I'm just kidding. Purple. Okay,

44:12

we love you so much. Thanks

44:15

so much. Thanks so much.

44:17

Very proud of you, Megan. Very

44:19

proud of you. And you too,

44:22

Darrell? Yeah. Hold it down with

44:24

your wife. Always. I do. We

44:26

are partners. Love you. Love you, too.

44:28

Love you, too. No.
